News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov turned down chances to be traded at the deadline, citing his desire to see playing time heading into his first free agency summer. Unfortunately, he has not had the playing time he wanted in Denver either, appearing in just three games out of 10 in the month of March. Mozgov has been listed as a DNP - coach's decision in each game that he has not appeared in.
Analysis: Mozgov was a big part of the Carmelo Anthony deal back in 2010-11, but he has not played much of a role for the Nuggets since. He has one start this season, and is averaging just 2.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in 36 games so far. Mozgov is a restricted free agent this summer, and it appears as if the Nuggets will let him walk. He has some skills, but remains unworthy of your attention in any Fantasy formats until he lands on another roster that will put him to use.
News: FOX Sports Florida reports Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov could be a trade target of the Heat since league sources said Denver is looking to deal Mozgov. It think its logical, you can see that, trading me, Mozgov said in an interview with FOX Sports Florida. Im in my contract year. So if they can get something for me I dont think it would be a surprise for me (to be traded). I heard Miami is trying to find a big guy. Well see. I dont know (what might happen).
Analysis: Mozgov has appeared in just 22 games this season and averages 10 minutes per contest. Coach George Karl said he feels "bad for (Mozgov) because hes good enough to be on an NBA court." It's just that Mozgov is finding it tough to overtake frontcourt players Kosta Koufos, JaVale McGee and Kenneth Faried for playing time. Perhaps a trade to a team that could afford Mozgov more playing time would increase his Fantasy value, but until that happens, then he continues to have marginal appeal.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov earned a DNP - coachs decision Wednesday against the Magic, the first time in five games he has not appeared. Mozgov has appeared in 21 of the teams 37 games this season.
Analysis: Mozgov was not a huge factor a year ago, however he did go from starting half of the teams games to barely playing most nights. He is averaging just 2.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 10.1 minutes, and can be safely ignored in all Fantasy formats until his role improves.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov was able to play against the Spurs Saturday night despite dealing with a left knee strain as he failed to make the best out of his limited minutes. Mozgov made both of his shots and finished with four points and three rebounds while logging in 13 minutes off the bench in a 126-100 defeat.
Analysis: Mozgov has logged in just 33 minutes in the season and does not get enough playing time to make any sort of Fantasy impact at this point. It was a good sign that he was able to play despite still recovering from a left knee strain. Mozgov has plenty of upside, but is not worth keeping in your rosters for now.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov was active for the first time this season Tuesday against Detroit. Mozgov sat out the first three games of the season due to a left knee strain but was able to play against the Pistons. That said, he never got off the bench as a healthy coach's decision.
Analysis: Mozgov was active for the Nuggets but didn't get any time as he continues to sit behind a deep rotation of Kosta Koufos and JaVale McGee. Mozgov has plenty of upside but until we start seeing it he's not gong to warrant ownership in anything but the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov remained out of Saturdays matchup against the Heat, as he continues to deal with a left knee injury. According to the Denver Post, Mozgov is eyeing Tuesday against Detroit for his season debut.
Analysis: Mozgov would be stuck behind a deep rotation of Kosta Koufos and JaVale McGee when he does return. He has very low-end Fantasy value, even when healthy.
News: The Denver Post reports Saturday that Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov could return Saturday versus Miami but is more likely to be back Tuesday against Detroit.
Analysis: Mozgov would be stuck behind a deep rotation of Kosta Koufos and JaVale McGee when he does return. He has very low-end Fantasy value, even when healthy.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov (knee) was inactive once again on Friday at Orlando. He has missed both games to begin the season for the Nuggets.
Analysis: Mozgov will hope to return in the coming days but isn't expected to have a major role with the team. We'll continue to keep an eye on his status moving forward but owners don't need to worry about him unless something changes.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov was ruled inactive for Wednesday's season-opener on the road against the 76ers due to a left knee sprain. Mozgov, who only played 44 games during the 66-game lockout-shortened season, is hopeful of returning Friday against the Magic.
Analysis: Mozgov missed some time last year due to an ankle injury and was hobbled by a knee injury in 2011. At this point, this does not seem to be a serious issue for the Nuggets, especially since they have, Kosta Koufos as the team's starting center. We'll continue to keep an eye on his status moving forward. Mozgov, who averaged 5.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and a block, was limited to just over 15 minutes per game last season. With the addition of Javele McGee, we could see a similar average. Fantasy owners should consider him as a low-end option in deeper formats moving forward.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov sat out the entire second half on Sunday at Minnesota, reports the Denver Post on Monday. Coach George Karl said his benching was due to matchups.
Analysis: Whether Mozgov sees five minutes for 25 it doesn't seem to matter much lately in terms of his Fantasy value. Mozgov is averaging 5.8 points and 4.0 rebounds over his last five games and is seeing sporadic minutes. He has low-end Fantasy value right now.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov returned to action on Tuesday night against Atlanta. Mozgov, who sat out the last three games with an ankle injury, failed to score in the 118-117 win, missing both of his field-goal attempts. He finished with one rebound and one steal, while logging nine minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Mozgov should start seeing some decent minutes for the Nuggets if he can stay on the floor. That said, he's averaging just over 17 minutes per game on the season to go with 5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds. He should be monitored now that he's healthy, but considered merely a low-end option.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov was active and in uniform for Sundays game against the Grizzlies, however he never saw the floor. Nuggets coach George Karl told NBA.com before the game that Mozgov would only be used in an emergency situation. Timo will be dressed and capable of playing, Karl said. Im not sure Ill go that way. Bird played very well in the game down there and they dont play very big with their second unit.
Analysis: Clearly, Mozgov is ready to return to the floor from his ankle injury, and it is just a question of when, not if at this point. He should be able to play in Fantasy Week 12 (March 12-18), however with the Nuggets front court depth, its hard to see them leaning on him too heavily, so keep him inactive when he returns.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov did not play in Friday night's contest against the Hornets due to an ankle injury. Mozgov also missed Wednesday's contest against the Cavaliers with his ailment. He is being considered day to day at this point.
Analysis: Mozgov has sprained and re-sprained his left ankle multiple times over the past week, so he will likely need some time to heal up. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. Mozgov can be considered a viable low-end option in most formats, when healthy.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov continues to nurse a sprained left ankle and missed Wednesday's game against Cleveland. Mozgov is day to day for the Nuggets. Denver started Nene at center on Wednesday. Mozgov dealt with the injury in his last game on Monday against the Kings, but could play just seven minutes before leaving for good.
Analysis: Mozgov is likely to return to action shortly, but could still miss a few more games yet. Mozgov can be considered a viable low-end option in most formats, when healthy.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov, who managed to start but played just seven minutes on Monday against the Kings with an ankle injury, is expected to be a game-time decision for Wednesday against Cleveland, reports the team's official site. Mozgov scored eight points with three rebounds on 3 of 4 shooting over his seven minutes.
Analysis: Mozgov was able to shake off his ankle injury and was on the floor against the Kings for limited minutes. However, Fantasy owners should keep an eye on how he fares moving forward to make sure he doesn't suffer another setback. Mozgov can be considered a viable low-end option in most formats, when healthy.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov was available to play during Monday night's contest against the Kings. In fact, Mozgov started the game. That said, after re-aggravating his ankle injury on Sunday, he played just seven minutes against the Kings. Mozgov went 3 of 4 from the field and scored eight points with three rebounds.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov was able to return to the court on Sunday against San Antonio after leaving Wednesday's game with a sprained ankle. Unfortunately, during the third quarter, he landed on Spurs center DeJuan Blair's foot, re-aggravating the ankle injury. He ended up being able to play just 15 minutes, finishing with five points and five rebounds as the Nuggets won, 99-94.
Analysis: Mozgov was the only healthy center on the Nuggets roster, and now he is re-joining his teammates. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see how long the injury lingers this time, as he has emerged as a useful low-end Fantasy option when healthy.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov plans on returning to the court on Sunday after leaving last Wednesdays game with a sprained left ankle. He told NBA.com, There was no pain and I was getting around.
Analysis: Mozgov will likely log significant minutes, as the Nuggets remain bitten by the injury bug. Mozgov has scored in double figures just once over the last five games, making him a low-end Fantasy option in all formats when healthy.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov left Friday night's contest against the Rockets with a left ankle sprain. Mozgov sustained the injury in the second half and did not return to the 117-105 contest. He finished with five points and eight rebounds prior to leaving the contest.
Analysis: Mozgov re-aggravated the same ankle injury that forced him miss seven games earlier in the month, so there is some cause for concern. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see how long his latest injury will keep him sidelined. However, Mozgov should merely be considered a low-end option in all formats, when healthy.
News: In Denver's first game since the All-Star break center Timofey Mozgov was very efficient from the field, as he went 6 for 10 with his shot selection. He also went 2 for 3 at the charity stripe, finishing with 14 points. Mozgov added nine rebounds in his 23 minutes on the court. The Nuggets would go on for the 104-95 win over the Trail Blazers behind strong performances from Mozgov and the rest of the big men. Mozgov added two blocks and an assist in the victory.
Analysis: Mozgov missed seven games with an ankle injury in early February, but the All-Star break gave him some additional time to rest up. Over his last five games, Mozgov has scored in double figures just once. Fantasy owners in the deepest of category-based formats should consider Mozgov a low-end center option at this time.
News: The Nuggets have moved center Timofey Mozgov back into the starting lineup, where he had been before missing seven games with an ankle injury early in February. He was the starting center on Thursday against the Spurs, playing 20 minutes and scoring eight points on 3 of 5 shooting while grabbing three rebounds. He also had a block in the game, which the Nuggets lost 114-99.
Analysis: Mozgove is averaging 5.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, as he remains a fixture in the starting lineup. Despite starting, he is playing just 18.2 minutes per game on average, as the Nuggets like to spread the playing time around. As a result, Mozgov should not be relied on in any Fantasy formats except as a low-end reserve while he remains in his current role.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov returned to the court on Friday night against Memphis after missing seven games with an ankle injury. He did not start the game and received 16 minutes of action for the Nuggets as they ease him back into the rotation. Mozgov went 1 for 3 from the field, finishing with two points. He added a block and four boards during his time on the court. The Nuggets ended up losing the game 103-102.
Analysis: Mozgov entered Friday averaging 5.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Nuggets. With Nene out of action too, Mozgov could see more run, but until he's 100 percent he can't be trusted in Fantasy. Owners should continue to view Mozgov as a low-end center option in the deepest of formats.
News: Nuggets C Timofey Mozgov (ankle) is expected to return for Friday's game at Memphis, according to the Denver Post. Mozgov, who has missed the past seven games, will play limited minutes at center upon his return. He is averaging 5.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game this year.
Analysis: Mozgov has been nursing an ankle injury since the beginning of February and is part of a hobbling frontcourt for the Nuggets. Mozgov turned in one of his best outings of the season prior to the injury when he posted 11 points and seven rebounds against the Clippers on Feb 2. He normally averages 17.3 minutes per game, but will be introduced back into the lineup slowly. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option for now.
News: Nuggets coach George Karl said on Wednesday that C Timofey Mozgov will likely miss a few more games as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. "Hes going to return in the near future, just not in the next three-or-four-day future," said Karl. Kosta Koufos is expected to start in Mozgov's absence.
Analysis: Mozgov is averaging 5.7 points with 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks so far this season and usually starts for Denver. The Nuggets might elect to keep him out until after the All-Star break to make sure he is 100 percent healthy so keep an eye on his status going forward. Mozgov should be considered a low-end Fantasy C when active.
News: Denver C Timofey Mozgov was ruled out for Tuesday's game against Phoenix with a troublesome ankle injury, according to the team's official website. Mozgov, who was considered doubtful for the matchup, has already missed the past five games with the injury. "He went through most of the shootaround in a very slow-moving way," Nuggets coach George Karl said.
Analysis: Mozgov's absence certainly hurts the Nuggets' depth in the paint, as staring C Nene was also ruled out for the game. The 7-footer has started all 21 games he's been available for this year, however, he is only averaging 5.7 points game. Consider him a marginal Fantasy option.
News: Coach George Karl (ankle) told reporters on Monday that he does not expect C Timofey Mozgov to play in Tuesday night's contest against the Nuggets. Mozgov has missed the past five games due to an ankle injury.
Analysis: There was a report circulating earlier in the day that said Mozgov would be able to play on Tuesday, although that does not seem to be the case anymore. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. The 25-year-old is averaging just 5.7 points and 4.5 rebounds a night, so consider him a marginal option, when healthy.
News: Nuggets coach George Karl said he anticipates C Timofey Mozgov to return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against Phoenix, the Denver Post reports. Mozgov, who has missed the past five games with an ankle injury, is expected to be inserted back into the starting lineup.
Analysis: Mozgov's return certainly boosts the Nuggets' depth in the paint, but he is subpar contributor on the offensive side. The 7-footer has started all 21 games he's been available for this year, however, he is only averaging 5.7 points game. Consider him a marginal Fantasy option.
News: Nuggets coach George Karl said Friday that C Timofey Mozgov (ankle) is unlikely to play Saturday at Indiana, but he could return for Tuesday's game against Phoenix, the Denver Post reports. Mozgov has missed the past the past four games with a sprained left ankle.
Analysis: Mozgov will likely assume his spot in the starting lineup once he is able to return, but his status remains in question. The 25-year-old is averaging just 5.7 points per game, but is also contributing 4.5 rebounds a night. Consider him a marginal option in deeper Fantasy formats when active.
News: Nuggets coach George Karl said C Timofey Mozgov is expected to miss the next three games because of a troublesome ankle injury, according to the Denver Post. Mozgov missed Saturday's game after suffering a sprained left ankle in last Friday's contest against the Lakers.
Analysis: Mozgov's injury appeared serious at the time and it will now keep him on the sidelines for three more games -- at least. The Nuggets are already thin in the paint as starting C Nene will also miss Monday's game because of a persistent heel injury. Kosta Koufos is expected to start at center on Monday. Fantasy owners should leave Mozgov on the bench as he is a significant injury risk for Week 7 (Feb. 6-12) with the ankle issue.
News: Nuggets C Timofey Mozgov, who was injured on Friday night against the Lakers, was ruled out for Saturday's game against Portland, reports Hoopsworld.com. He played just over seven minutes against L.A. before spraining his ankle. Kosta Koufos got the start in his place. Mozgov is day to day.
Analysis: Mozgov's injury looked pretty bad, but the good news is his X-rays came back negative. However, his injury will likely sideline him for a few games, making the 7-footer an injury risk heading into Fantasy Week 7 (Feb. 6-12). Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving froward. Mozgov can be considered a low-end Fantasy C, in the majority of formats, when healthy.
News: Nuggets C Timofey Mozgov left Friday night's contest against the Lakers with a sprained left ankle. Mozgov sustained the injury in the third quarter and did not return to the contest. X-rays taken came back negative and he finished with four points and five rebounds prior to leaving the contest.
News: Denver C Timofey Mozgov tallied 11 points and seven rebounds during the Nuggets' 112-91 victory over the Clippers on Thursday night. Mozgov made all five of his attempts from the field and converted 1 of his 3 free throws to top double digits for the fourth time this season. Mozgov also added two blocks in 22 minutes of playing time -- the fourth consecutive game he has recorded multiple blocks (10 total in that span).
Analysis: Mozgov hasn't been a huge scoring contributor this season, but rebounded from a lowly one-point performance against Memphis in his previous game on Tuesday. He is hitting an efficient 52.7 percent of his shots from the field, but is still averaging fewer than five attempts per game. The 25-year-old is also posting 4.5 rebounds a game and should be considered a low-end Fantasy option only in deeper formats for now.
News: The Nuggets announced that center Timofey Mozgov rejoined the team Thursday after missing Wednesday's game because his wife gave birth to the couple's first child. His chances of returning to the lineup Friday against the Raptors have increased.
Analysis: Mozgov is likely to play Friday seeing how he didn't miss Wednesday's game because of an injury. He is averaging 5.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He has had some good performances, but he doesn't fill the stat sheet on a nightly basis. Mozgov has low-end Fantasy appeal when active.
News: Nuggets C Timofey Mozgov was not with the team for Wednesday's contest against the Kings as he was home to tend to his wife, who just gave birth to the couples first child. Mozgov is averaging 8.5 points with 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in his last five games.
Analysis: Mozgov has been able to pick up his production of late and should be able to return to the club shortly. He is shooting a solid 52 percent from the field this season, but his scoring and rebounding have been inconsistent. Continue to view Mozgov as more of a low-end option for deeper category-based formats at this point.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov returned to the court on Friday night against the Wizards, and made 4 of his 5 shots from the floor. Mozgov, who missed his team's last game with a back injury, also grabbed five rebounds. He finished with eight points in Denver's 108-104 win.
Analysis: Mozgov has filled in this season when Nene isn't 100 percent. Over his last four games, Mozgov is averaging 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest. Those numbers aren't great, but give Mozgov value in deeper category-based Fantasy leagues.
News: Nuggets C Timofey Mozgov (back) is expected to return and be inserted into the starting lineup for Friday's game at Washington, according to the Denver Post. Mozgov, who missed the team's last game with a back injury, will take the place of injured C Nene against the Wizards.
Analysis: Mozgov shined in Nene's absence earlier this season, but his production has dipped since he returned to a reserve role, as expected. The 7-foot-1 Russian remains a solid rebounding option and is averaging 4.1 boards per game. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option in Rotisserie formats for now.
News: Denver C Timofey Mozgov missed Wednesday's game at Philadelphia due to a back injury, reports the Denver Post. Mozgov is day to day for the Nuggets.
Analysis: Mozgov last played on Tuesday at Milwaukee and he scored four points with five rebounds and a block in that game. Mozgov is averaging less than five points per game this season over just under 17 minutes per night. He does bring home 4.1 rebounds and almost a block per game, but is still more of a low-end Fantasy option, when healthy, at this time.
News: It was a rare sight on Friday, as the Nuggets went to C Timofey Mozgov early and often in their matchup against the Heat. The 25-year old Russian scored 10 points in the first half and needed just four minutes in the second to set his new season-high in scoring, finishing the game with 12 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and a steal in 24 minutes while making six-of-ten shots.
Analysis: Mozgov has been starting for the Nuggets, but with their impressive depth is averaging just 16.3 minutes per game. In those 6 minutes, he is averaging 4.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He is certainly capable of the occasional big game, but the Nuggets have so many offensive weapons and play at such a fast pace that they often dont find a place in their offense for the big man. He has upside, but simply doesnt get enough opportunities currently to be anything more than a low-end Fantasy reserve at this point.
News: Denver C Timofey Mozgov finished with eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds during the Nuggets' 92-89 loss to the Lakers on Saturday. Mozgov, who logged a season-high 26 minutes, connected on 4 of 7 attempts from the field. His impressive rebound total eclipsed his output from the first three games of the season combined (six). Mozgov also contributed four blocks and two assists while committing three turnovers.
Analysis: Denver is counting on Mozgov to increase his production during his second season in the NBA and his first full campaign with the team. He was in the starting lineup along with Nene on Saturday as the Nuggets utilized a taller frontcourt for the return of Los Angeles big man Andrew Bynum. His minutes will be limited if his scoring doesn't increase and he represents a low-end Fantasy option only in deeper formats for now.
News: One of the key pieces in the Carmelo Anthony deal, the Nuggets have high hopes for second-year center Timofey Mozgov. In 36 preseason minutes stretched over two games, Mozgov scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while connecting on seven of his 11 shots. He would add two blocks, one of which came as he started the final preseason game, a 110-85 win over the Suns.
Analysis: Those are pretty impressive numbers in 36 minutes for the second-year player, but the obvious caveats about the preseason apply. Mozgov is likely to be relegated once again to the backup role with the return of Nene. Mozgov played in just 11 games with the Nuggets after the trade, averaging six minutes and 2.5 points per game. Back in May, Nuggets coach George Karl did say he hoped Mozgov could play 25 minutes per night, but that looks like wishful thinking, as Mozgov has a long way to go. Keep the 25-year old Russian off your radars on Draft Day.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov could see a boost in playing time in 2011-12, according to coach George Karl. He said Mozgov could play about 25 minutes per game next season. "But will he play 82 games? I don't know. But in time, I can see him playing a good stretch of minutes for us," Karl said. "But you've got so many guys that are free agents, to make predictions are so hypothetical." Mozgov played sparingly for Denver after being acquired from the Knicks. But his play in the April 3 win at the Lakers five points and six boards in 15 minutes showed that his size and presence will make him an asset in the Western Conference.
Analysis: Mozgov only appeared in 45 games during his rookie season and averaged 3.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in his limited playing time. Still, the Nuggets are very high on the 7-footer and sound as if he get a chance for regular minutes next season. However, that is likely to depend on what the team does with their impending free agents. Both Kenyon Martin and Nene are free agents heading into the offseason and if one or both left for another team there would obviously be a huge hole to fill down in the post. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor how this will play out over the next few months. If Mozgov finds himself in line for serious minutes next fall, he could be worthy of a late-round pick on Draft Day next season.
News:Timofey Mozgov only appeared in 11 games for the Nuggets this season but the team feels he has all the tools to crack the big-man rotation next season. Mozgov started 14 times for New York before the Carmelo Anthony trade in February, averaging 5.0 points per game and 3.7 rebounds in 17.9 minutes as a starter. However, he was used sparingly by Denver and battled an ankle injury over the final few weeks of the season. Still, team executive Masai Ujiri thinks Mozgov will be a big part of what the Nuggets do next season. "No question. Mozgov and Koufos, every day you see them battling it out. And when you have bigs who sleep in the gym, there's always room for success. Those guys bring that. They work and work and work," Ujiri told the Denver Post.Analysis: Mozgov only appeared in 45 games during his rookie season and averaged 3.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in his limited playing time. Still, the Nuggets are very high on the 7-footer and sound as if he get a chance for regular minutes next season. However, that is likely to depend on what the team does with their impending free agents. Both Kenyon Martin and Nene are both free agents heading into the offseason and if one or both left for another teram there would obviously be a huge hole to fill down in the post. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor how this will play out over the next few months. If Mozgov finds himself in line for serious minutes next fall, he could be worthy of a late-round pick on Draft Day next season.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov, though healthy, was inactive for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Thunder. The Nuggets ended up losing, ultimately eliminating them from the playoffs. Mozgov didn't appear in a game since April 5.
Analysis: Mozgov had an ongoing knee injury that went on longer than expected once he was traded to the Nuggets. He was able to get on the court sparingly but he was never really able to make an impact this season on one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. Fantasy owners should not consider the Russian to be anything more than a low-end option heading into next season.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov was again inactive for Game 4 of Monday's playoff series against the Thunder because of a knee injury. Mozgov has not appeared in a game since April 5.
Analysis: Mozgov is continuing to work his way back from a knee injury but has yet to appear in this series. The team had no update on his status after Monday night's game, so Fantasy owners will have to continue to monitor his status moving forward. However, the 7-footer hasn't produced much when he did see the floor and therefore won't have much value on Draft Day next season.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov was inactive again for the Nuggets playoff game against Oklahoma City. He hasn't played since April 5 after he sustained a knee injury. He's being considered day-to-day by the team, despite being cleared to play.
Analysis: Mozgov hasn't played much since he joined Denver in that trade that involved Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups. Mozgov gives the Nuggets depth on the frontcourt, but can't be expected to do much for Fantasy owners. For that reason he can be ignored in most formats and is not worth targeting on Draft Day this fall.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets reserve center Timofey Mozgov said Thursday he will be able to play against the Thunder in Game 3 of the first-round playoff series Saturday. Mozgov, who last played April 5 with a knee injury, would help provide depth in the front court.
Analysis: Even if Mozgov is able to play he isn't expected to do much. And heading into next season, Mozgov has minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues. Ignore him in all formats on Draft Day.
News: For a second consecutive game, Denver center Timofey Mozgov was active, but received a DNP -coach's decision on Wednesday. He's missed both games against the Thunder so far and is still dealing with some knee pain. He last played on April 5 against the Thunder and has said he can't run full speed yet.
Analysis: Mozgov is merely a backup for the Nuggets, so he doesn't hold much Fantasy value. He can be ignored in all formats seeing how he hasn't had many chances to perform for the Nuggets. While he has potential, he is still a ways off from being a Fantasy contributor.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov was active for Game 1 of Denver's Western Conference playoff series against the Thunder but did not see the court. He told AOL News before the game that he would only play in an emergency situation. "I can't run like full speed.'' he said, "I can play (tonight) but not a good idea... I can't move so fast.'' Mozgov last played on April 5 against the Thunder.
Analysis: Mozgov is continuing to work his way back from a knee injury and is expected to play at some point in the series. When exactly will be remains the bigger question as Mozgov will likely be evaluated on a daily basis. Still, he hasn't gotten a ton of run since he was traded to Denver and therefore should only be considered a low-end option in deeper formats, when healthy.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov hasn't played since April 5 after sustaining a sprained left knee and ankle. Coach George Karl told The Denver Post that all players except for Mozgov should be available for the playoffs.
Analysis: Mozgov hasn't gotten much run since joining Denver. While he's young and has potential, Mozgov doesn't have a whole lot of Fantasy value. He can be ignored in all formats.
News: The Nuggets official team website reports that there's an outside chance center Timofey Mozgov (knee, ankle) could play Wednesday at Utah in the season finale. Mozgov was originally injured April 5 and given a 10-14 day timetable for his return.
Analysis: Even if Mozgov is able to play Wednesday against the Jazz he would have minimal Fantasy value. Keep an eye on his status, but don't plan on using Mozgov in the majority of leagues.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov (ankle/knee) said he may return ahead of schedule. Mozgov isn't likely to return for the regular season, which means he is expected to miss Monday's game against Golden State and Wednesday's game at Utah. But he could return for the start of the playoffs if all goes well.
Analysis: Even if Mozgov does return prior to the end of the regular season he would have minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues. Ignore him in all formats.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov did not travel with the team to Dallas and Oklahoma City, according to the Denver Post, and is likely going to be out 10-14 days. Mozgov sustained a sprained left knee and ankle during Tuesday's contest against the Thunder when Nick Collison knocked into him under the basket. He left in the first quarter and did not return to the contest. According to the report, the ankle is the more serious injury, but there are not any fractures.
Analysis: With the Nuggets in the playoffs, resting Mozgov up seems like a good move. He give them depth on the frontcourt, which will be key for them in the Western Conference. Despite the doctors not thinking the injury was too serious, it was bad enough for him to miss the rest of the regular season. Fantasy owners in all seasonal formats should cut ties with Mozgov as he won't be of use for the final week of the year.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov is scheduled to have an MRI on his injured left knee and ankle on Wednesday. Mozgov sustained a sprained left knee and ankle during Tuesday's contest against the Thunder when Nick Collison knocked into him under the basket. He left in the first quarter and did not return to the contest. After the game he said his ankle hurt more than his knee and the doctors told him his injuries were not considered serious.
Analysis: Mozgov did not travel with the team after Tuesday's game as the Nuggets flew to Dallas in preparation for Wednesday's game against the Mavricks. Based on that information, it would seem likely that the 7-footer will not play on Wednesday, although Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his status just to be sure. Still, Mozgov hasn't seen a ton of playing time during his tenure in Denver and hasn't produced much when he has. Continue to ignore the 24-year-old in the majority of formats, even when he gets healthy.
News: Denver center Timofey Mozgov was pushed in the back while in the air on Tuesday night against Oklahoma City. Mozgov got hurt when Nick Collison was knocked into him in the first quarter. Mozgov was helped off the court and into the locker room. He was favoring his left leg with sprained left knee. Mozgov saw just one minute of action in the game before he was injured.
Analysis: Mozgov has been used sparingly since joining the Nuggets. Over his last 10 games he's averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds, while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor. While he has potential, he's currently buried on the depth chart in Denver. Fantasy owners should avoid him in all seasonal formats right now.
News: Nuggets C Timofey Mozgov made his debut with Denver in Wednesday's 40-point win over the Bobcats, the teams largest of the season. He played the final 1:53 of the second quarter in his first action as a Nugget since being included in the three-team, 13-player trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to New York. Mozgov finished the night with six points on 2 of 3 shooting, adding four rebounds in 10 minutes of action.
Analysis: Mozgov certainly has a more prominent role as a starter with the Knicks, but Nuggets coach George Karl has said he's very impressed with his basketball IQ. The 7-foot-1 Russian has solid shot blocking ability, as he's averaging just under one per game this year. Fantasy owners should not expect many minutes for the big man, but they should increase with time as he eases into his new role on a balanced team with the deepest bench in the NBA. Mozgov has plenty of potential, but the Nuggets won't be able to tap into it much for the remainder of the year. Leave him on waivers in most formats.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets C Timofey Mozgov could begin to crack the team's rotation at some point this season. "I'm very impressed with his basketball IQ," coach George Karl said Sunday. "For a big guy, he's picked up the stuff very well. We're not going to force the whole playbook on him. Against Atlanta, we'll be able to run more motion sets."
Analysis: Mozgov was mostly a failed project this season with the Knicks, so the thought of playing time should not excite Fantasy owners much -- at least not yet. The Nuggets have a quality big man in Nene and will have very little playing time available to give the Russian.
News: One of the newest members of the Nuggets, center Timofey Mozgov, didn't get off the bench on Thursday besides to congratulate his teammates in Denver's 89-75 win over Boston. Mozgov was one of four players that New York sent to acquire Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups. Coach George Karl told the Denver Post that he believes Mozgov will be a starting center in the NBA within the next five years. Nuggets executive Masai Ujiri believes Mozgov has a big upside, which is why they wanted him included in the deal. But with Nene, Kenyon Martin and Chris Andersen ahead of him, Karl doesn't know how many minutes he'll be able to find for the 7-foot rookie.
Analysis: Mozgov started 14 games in New York and averaged 4.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per game. He saw action in a total of 34 contests as a member of the Knicks. Mozgov had just started getting more play in New York before the trade, so until he finds a role in Denver he should be stashed in all leagues where he's owned. Mozgov has the potential to be a viable Fantasy option, but that may be a little ways off.
News: The Knicks have officially acquired F Carmelo Anthony from Denver in a three-team trade. The deal was announced late Monday night, but became official on Tuesday. The Knicks also got guards Chauncey Billups and Anthony Carter, and forwards Renaldo Balkman and Shelden Williams in the deal that also includes the Minnesota Timberwolves. New York dealt forwards Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari, guard Raymond Felton and center Timofey Mozgov to the Nuggets. New York also shipped centers Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph to Minnesota for forward Corey Brewer. Denver acquired center Kosta Koufos from Minnesota, plus New York's first-round draft pick in 2014, second-round picks in 2012 and 2013 and cash.
Analysis: Mozgov recently re-emerged on the Fantasy map after falling out of the rotation in December and January. He scored 23 points and hauled in 14 rebounds on Jan. 30 and had seen his playing time increase since then. Fantasy owners should stayed tuned for the latest updates before inserting Mozgov into their lineups as the wheelings and dealing might not be over with. Mozgov has the potential to be a viable Fantasy option, but keep him stashed away until everything becomes more clear.
News: According to Ken Berger of CBSSports.com, center Timofey Mozgov has been traded to the Nuggets as apart of the Carmelo Anthony deal. The trade, which was reported on Monday, had been in the works for a few weeks. "It's done," one of the sources said. The deal, which is expected to pass through the league approval process Tuesday, is Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Mozgov and New York's 2014 first-round pick going to Denver for Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Renaldo Balkman and Anthony Carter, sources said. The Timberwolves agreed to take Eddy Curry's expiring contract along with Anthony Randolph from the Knicks and send Corey Brewer to New York -- not Denver, as was discussed in a previous version of the trade. The Wolves get $3 million from the Knicks, which will be used to buy Curry out of the few remaining pay checks on his $11.3 million contract.
News: New York center Timofey Mozgov got some redemption on Los Angeles forward Blake Griffin on Wednesday. In the team's first meeting, Mozgov got posterized by Griffin, but he would rebound for an 18-point outing the second time out. He shot 8 for 9 from the field, but was forced to the bench when the Knicks went with a small lineup in an effort to get back in the game. He cored 12 points in the first quarter, helping the Knicks take a 29-28 lead. New York would make a late rally, but fall short and lose to Los Angeles 116-108. Mozgov added six rebounds, one steal and one block in his 26 minutes on the court.
Analysis: It seems Mozgov could have been more of a contributor if given more playing time. He did have a solid outing for New York though, which is promising. In December he averaged just five minutes per outing and saw action in just three games in January. It seems like Mozgov might be making it back into the rotation as he's played in five straight games. He's averaging 11.4 points, 7.2 boards and 1.2 blocks over that span. Fantasy owners should keep Mozgov stashed as he could prove to be a valuable asset down the stretch in deeper category-based formats. There is no telling how long he'll get these minutes, so continue to monitor his playing status in New York.
News: Knicks C Timofey Mozgov played 30 minutes as a starter on Sunday against the Sixers. He was productive on the boards, bringing down eight rebounds and also blocked three shots. However, he attempted just three shots in the game and scored only three points. In his last four games, Mozgov has averaged 9.8 points and 7.5 rebounds with 1.3 blocks per game.
Analysis: Much of those averages can be attributed to his 23-point, 14-rebound outburst against the Pistons on Jan. 30. However, his next three games have been very underwhelming. He has attempted just 11 shots over his last three games combined, but does have some upside as a cheap source for boards and blocks as long as he continues to see good playing time. He is worth stashing, but is just a low-end stopgap measure for now.
News: Knicks center Timofey Mozgov will make his 10th start of the season when New York hosts the Sixers on Sunday. Coach Mike D'Antoni told Newsday that Mozgov gives the Knicks their best chance at slowing down the Sixers frontcourt, after Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala combined for 51 points, 20 rebounds and 17 assists in Friday's 100-98 win over New York. "He's our best chance," D'Antoni said. Mozgov is averaging 12.0 points and 7.3 rebounds over his last three contests.
Analysis: Mozgov was just another body lost on New York's bench, until the rookie out of Russia exploded for 23 points and 14 rebounds last week against the Pistons. He has since found himself back in the rotation and now back in the starting lineup. There has been no announcement on whether this will be a permanent move or just the result of the matchup, although a strong effort from Mozgov would help strengthen his case to start. Fantasy owners should monitor how he fares on Sunday before deciding whether to take a chance on him during Fantasy Week 16 (Feb. 7-13).
News:Newsday reports that Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni will leave rookie C Timofey Mozgov in the rotation, even when Wilson Chandler (calf) returns. Mozgov had 23 points and 14 rebounds in Sunday's win over the Pistons. "23 and 14 a one-shot deal?" D'Antoni said. "No, I think I'll try it again."
Analysis: On Sunday, Mozgov was playing in his first game since Jan. 9, and D'Antoni might be overreacting here a little bit with his young European big man. For now, most Fantasy owners should continue to watch him from afar, but if you're in a deeper league and might need center help, then why not take a flier on Mozgov if you have the room?
News: Knicks C Timofey Mozgov played in his first game since Jan. 9 on Sunday against the Pistons and has the finest performance of his young career. He scored 23 points and hauled in 14 rebounds, both career highs, in the 124-106 win. He went 9 for 15 from the field and converted 5 of 6 free throws while playing 40 minutes off the bench. "He just wasn't flustered," coach Mike D'Antoni said. "It just seemed like he was going to way too fast earlier [in the season]." Movgoz, who was treated to loud "Mozgov! Mozgov!" chants in the final minute, also chipped in with an assist in the victory. "I was really excited. Really good to listen. They were really nice," Mozgov said. "I don't know how to say it in English, but it's great."
Analysis: Movgoz had been sitting on the bench for a few weeks but he got his chance in the blowout on Sunday and made the most of his time on the court. It marked the first time the rookie had scored in double figures and helped give New York a boost with Amar'e Stoudemire a little banged up. Fantasy owners should not expect this type of production on a nightly basis but don't be surprised if he starts getting a few more looks in the near future. Still, Movgoz has a long way to go before becoming a viable Fantasy option and should be only be active in the deepest of Fantasy leagues heading into Week 15 (Jan. 31-Feb. 6).
News: The New York Post reports that Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni hopes that rookie C Timofey Mozgov can continue to develop and help fill in the team's need for a starting big man. "We need a starting center, but nobody's giving them up," D'Antoni said. "(Timofey is) a guy we have to target to help us. He's the X-factor we need to develop."
Analysis: Mozgov is averaging just 10 minutes a game in his first NBA season, and isn't doing much with those minutes, putting up 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds. While D'Antoni clearly thinks the 7-footer can contribute down the road, Fantasy owners should continue to ignore the Russian in all but the deepest of formats for the time being.
News: Knicks center Timofey Mozgov, who was ejected from Friday night's win over the Suns for committing a flagrant foul, will not be suspended by the league, reports the New York Daily News . Mozgov caught Robin Lopez in the face with an elbow during the fourth quarter after the two became tangled up going for a loose ball.
Analysis: Mozgov is merely a reserve center for the Knicks, who has only appeared in two of the Knicks last five contests. While it is nice he won't be forced to miss anytime because of the incident, Mozgov is averaging ust 2.4 points and 2.0 rebounds a game and can be ignored in all Fantasy leagues at this point.
News: Knicks seldom used center Timofey Mozgov was ejected in Friday night's 121-96 win over the Suns for elbowing Robin Lopez in the face. The two became tangled up going after a loose ball and Mozgov gave Lopez a shot in the jaw and was ejected with 3 1/2 minutes left to play. He finished with two points and a rebound in four minutes off the bench prior to being ejected.
Analysis: Mozgov is merely a reserve center for the Knicks, who has only appeared in two of the Knicks last five contests. He will likely face some sort of diciplinary action from the league office for his elbow, so Fantasy owners will have to stay tuned to see what that might be. However, with averages of just 2.4 points and 2.0 rebounds a game, Mozgov will not be that missed if he is suspended.
News: It has been quite a fall for Knicks rookie center Timofey Mozgov from opening night this season. Mozgov began the year as New York's starting center but he hasn't even gotten off the bench in four of the team's last five games.
Analysis: Mozgov is getting nothing more than garbage minutes in blowouts for New York. Until that changes, he clearly has no Fantasy value.
News: Knicks C Timofey Mozgov only played 10 minutes in his last game Sunday in Toronto. Unfortunately for Mozgov, that was his most time on the court in a game since seeing 14 minutes against Atlanta on Nov. 27. Over 10 minutes against the Raptors Sunday, Mozgov shot 1 for 2 from the field and went 4 for 5 from the line to score six points with two rebounds.
Analysis: Mozgov was a Fantasy sleeper before the year started. Once it began, his value plummeted like a rock. He hasn't been ready to contribute and should be left off Fantasy rosters at this time.
News: The Knicks may have to lean more on center Timofey Mozgov as Ronny Turiaf was injured on Saturday against Atlanta. Mozgov played 14 minutes against the Hawks and went 2 for 3 from the field to score five points. He grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots as well.
Analysis: Mozgov is getting just 12.3 minutes per game over his last five and still has 1.8 blocks and 3.5 rebounds per night over that span. He can clearly to do those two things well when getting minutes. Monitor his minutes going forward as he'll be an increasingly better cheap option in those two categories with more minutes.
News: New York center Timofey Mozgov didn't play on Friday as he has been dealing with a sore calf, but managed to play 14 minutes on Saturday against the Clippers. He missed both his field-goal attempts, but hit 75 percent of his foul shots, finishing with three points. He added five boards, a block and an assist for the Knicks as they went 3-1 on their current road trip.
Analysis: Mozgov lost his starting job to Ronny Turiaf. Despite starting he's been averaging just 13 minutes a game, which doesn't allow him much time to produce points or grab many boards. The good news is he was able to play for the Knicks, but in Fantasy leagues owners can ignore Mozgov. He can provide cheap rebounds in the deepest of category-based formats.
News: Knicks C Timofey Mozgov did not play in Friday night's 125-119 win over the Warriors as he continued to deal with a sore calf. He has scored zero points in his last two games while collecting three rebounds in 18 minutes.
Analysis: Mozgov recently lost his starting job to Ronny Turiaf and is playing only 13.0 minutes per contest. He has been shutout in three of his last four games and is starting to look like an injury risk for Week 5 (Nov. 22-28). Despite his upside, he's not worth owning outside of the deepest of Fantasy leagues, even when healthy.
News: Knicks C Timofey Mozgov is now probable for Friday's game at Golden State, according to the New York Times. He was considered questionable earlier in the day.
Analysis: This doesn't change much for Fantasy purposes. Mozgov recently lost his starting job to Ronny Turiaf and is playing only 13.0 minutes per game. Despite his upside, he's not worth owning outside of the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: According to the New York Post, Knicks C Timofey Mozgov, who was recently replaced in the starting lineup by Ronny Turiaf, has a sore calf and is questionable for Friday's game at Golden State.
Analysis: Mozgov has some upside, but he's averaging just 13.0 minutes per game and is falling out of favor with the coaching staff. He's not worth owning outside of the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf (finger) was able to play in Wednesday's game in Sacramento and he was given the start over Timofey Mozgov. Mozgov played just six minutes off the bench and has averaged just 10.8 minutes per game over his last five contests.
Analysis: Mozgov failed in his chance to take control of the starting job at center for the KnIcks -- something that could have benefited him greatly given the team's high-volume offense. The job is by no means locked up, however, and Mozgov still has a potential to play a role down the line given Turiaf's lack of an offensive games. Mozgov is not worth stashing outside of deeper leagues for now.
News: The New York Times reports on Wednesday that the Knicks are benching center Timofey Mozgov for Wednesday's game against the Warriors and starting Amar'e Stoudemire at center. Wilson Chandler will start at power forward. Coach Mike D'Antoni wants to loosen up the court for Stoudemire but is not committing to this change long term.
Analysis: The 24-year-old Russian rookie is averaging 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and less than one block per game in his last five contests over 15.6 minutes per night. He hasn't been a great rebounder and at 7-foot-1, that is not a good thing for Fantasy owners to see. Until he becomes more aggressive and consistent, he's just a low-end Fantasy option with upside. Mozgov doesn't really lose value with this move because he didn't have much to begin with.
News: Knicks C Timofey Mozgov had his most productive game of the season on Sunday against the 76ers. He scored nine points in 15 minutes of action, shooting 4 of 6 from the field. Mozgov was held without a single rebound or assist, however.
Analysis: Mozgov continues to start at center for the Knicks but is rarely seeing more than 15 minutes. His role should increase as he becomes more adjusted to the NBA game,so there remains some long-term appeal here -- especially in deeper leagues. However, he should not be active in any formats at this time.
News: New York center Timofey Mozgov struggled yet again for the Knicks as he played just 10 minutes on Thursday night against the Bulls. He had one point, one rebound, one assist and one block. He has six points and 10 rebounds through four games.
Analysis: Mozgov has been banged up this year, which has put a damper on his playing time and production. While he hasn't done much for the Knicks, he has potential to produce in coach Mike D'Antoni's system. New York is a relatively small team and need Mozgov to step up as the season progresses. As of right now Fantasy owners should not be using him in any format, but he's worth stashing in deeper leagues.
News:Timofey Mozgov, who bruised his left hip in Tuesday's practice, was able to start in Wednesday's season-opening win in Toronto. He played just seven minutes, however, and never was a factor in the game. He finished with no points, missing his only field-goal attempt, and added three rebounds.
Analysis: Mozgov may have been too banged up to contribute, but we saw Ronny Turiaf take the most minutes at center with Amar'e Stoudemire moving over from time to time. Mozgov has potential, but he will have to earn his playing time early on and is only worth stashing in larger leagues. He is not worth activating in any league yet.
News: Knicks C Timofey Mozgov, who bruised his left hip in a scrimmage Tuesday, will start in the season opener Wednesday at Toronto, according to Newsday.
Analysis: Mozgov's injury wasn't considered serious, so this doesn't come as a surprise. Mozgov has potential, but he's unproven, and the Knicks have viable alternatives if he struggles. He's worth owning as a No. 3 Fantasy center because of his upside.
News: Knicks C Timofey Mozgov is considered questionable for Wednesday's opener against the Raptors in Toronto. He has been diagnosed with a bruised left hip after taking a hit in a scrimmage on Tuesday afternoon.
Analysis: Moments earlier, Anthony Randolph sprained his ankle. Mozgov has been tabbed as the starter over Randolph, but this injury news makes him a bit of an injury risk for the first week of the Fantasy season. Fantasy owners are advised to keep Mozgov around for his potential, but use the initial portion of the season to see how productive he may be this year in New York's system. We love the upside, but want to see him prove it on the court first.
News: The New York Post reports that Timofey Mozgov was hurt in Tuesday's practice. He took a hit and was in a lot of pain on the floor before getting up and flexing his leg. The New York Times reports the injury isn't serious and Mozgov will likely start the season opener Wednesday in Toronto.
News: Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said on Tuesday that Timofey Mozgov is "all but certain" to be the team's starting center on opening night at Toronto, reports the Bergen County Record.
Analysis: Reports have gone back and forth about D'Antoni's thoughts on Mozgov as a starter or reserve heading into the regular-season opener. Averaging 8.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks over five preseason games, Mozgov appears to be in line to start. This could certainly change but he's become a big-time Fantasy sleeper. Even 25 minutes per game in New York's high-powered offense could make him worthy of use as a No. 2 center in larger formats.
News: Knicks rookie Timofey Mozgov, who for a while looked like he had the inside track to the starting job at center, could be falling out of favor again, according to the Bergen County Record. Mike D'Antoni is considering starting Amar'e Stoudamire at center, with Wilson Chandler at power forward, and still hasn't ruled out Ronny Turiaf as his starting center.
Analysis: D'Antoni hasn't been shy to change his rotations during his time with the Knicks, so Mozgov could end up playing a major role still. Even 25 minutes per game in New York's high-powered offense could make him worthy of use as a No. 2 center in larger formats. The Knicks might bring him along slowly, though, so you can leave him for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: New Knicks C Timofey Mozgov showed some promise in his first preseason game. He scored 10 points in 19 minutes off the bench, shooting 3 for 4 from the field. He was also 4 of 6 from the foul line and blocked three shots. Mozgov is competing for playing time this preseason with Ronny Turiaf and Anthony Randolph.
Analysis: Mozgov signed a three-year deal with the Knicks and the 7-foot-1 big man looks to be a player who could oppen some eyes in the preseason. He doesn't have a ton of competition in front of him and getting even 25 minutes per game in New York's high-powered offense could make him worthy of use as a No. 2 center in larger formats. Consider him a solid late-round flier pick.
