Report: Magic SF Tobias Harris wants to win a title for... the Knicks

(1/23/2015) Magic small forward Tobias Harris, a Long Island native, has the Knicks atop his free agency list this summer, an unnamed "close friend of Harris" told Marc Berman of the New York Post.

"He wants to win a championship with the Knicks," according to the source.

Harris has a $3.4 million qualifying offer this offseason. The Magic can match any offer if they wish to keep him around. Harris is averaging 18.0 points,. 6.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists through his first 38 games this season.

Harris will be facing his hometown team on Friday.

"It's always exciting," Harris said of facing the Knicks. "No place like home. Love being at home, playing at home in front of family and friends. It's going to be a good game."

(1/21/2015) Magic small forward Tobias Harris scored 19 points on 7 of 15 shooting in his team's 128-118 loss to the Pistons Wednesday.

Harris missed the team's previous five games with an ankle injury and played 25 minutes off the bench in his return Wednesday, adding five rebounds and one assist to his line. His next chance to play will come Friday in New York against the Knicks.

Harris will be active for the game, but there's a chance he doesn't play if he runs into an unforeseen complication. He's be sidelined for the team's last five games due to an ankle injury.

Orlando is an 8 1/2-point underdog in Detroit.

Harris has missed the last four games while dealing with a sprained ankle which he said is improving, but added it was a bad sprain. In 37 games, Harris is averaging 18.0 points and 6.9 rebounds.

It will be Harris' fifth straight game out of the lineup for Orlando. The notes also mention Harris does not currently have a timetable to return to the court.

In his place, rookie Devyn Marble will continue to start for the Magic. In four starts, Marble is averaging 5.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Vaughn added he will evaluate guard Evan Fournier, who has missed the last two games with a knee injury, at shootaround before making a final decision about his playing status.

The Rockets are favored by 7 points.

(1/12/2015) The Magic will be without guard Evan Fournier (knee) and forward Tobias Harris (ankle) in Monday's game against the Bulls. Both were considered doubtful for the matchup.  In their last game, the Magic started Channing Frye and rookie Devyn Marble in place of Harris and Kyle O' Quinn.

Marble scored six points on 3 of 6 shooting and added five steals.

The Magic are currently 11-point underdogs against Chicago.

Fournier is dealing with a knee injury. He hurt himself during Friday's game, and will need more time to recover.

(1/3/2015) Magic small forward Tobias Harris scored 18 points on 8 of 15 shooting while racking up 11 rebounds in his team's 98-90 loss to the Hornets Saturday.

Harris ' double-double was his seventh of the season but just his second since the end of November. He failed to knock down a three-point attempt for the first time in nine games while chipping in one steal and one block in 40 minutes Saturday. He'll square off with the Nuggets Wednesday.

Harris shot 7-16 from the field, including 2-6 from beyond the arc. He did not get to the free throw line during the contest. Harris also pulled down four rebounds and had one block.

In 28 games, Harris is averaging 18.6 points and 7.4 rebounds. The Magic host the Celtics Tuesday.

Harris was able to notch 38 minutes without any issues, but was spotted after the game with his right hand wrapped. Harris said he hurt his pinkie during the contest. He finished with 17 points.

(12/19/2014) Magic small forward Tobias Harris scored a team-high 24 points on 10 of 18 shooting, including 3 of 5 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 101-94 loss to the Jazz Friday.

Harris hadn't scored more than 20 points in any of his previous six games before coming through with 24 points Friday. He also chipped in four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 35 minutes. The Magic take a three-game losing streak into Sunday's matchup with the 76ers.

After Kyle Korver hit a three-pointer with 3.4 seconds left to give Atlanta a 99-98 lead, Harris took the inbounds pass, drove to the top of the key and put up a floater that found its way in. 

The Magic will look to keep things rolling Monday in Toronto.

Harris matched his season high with 10 made shots from the field, but with a season-best four three-pointers to his credit, he was able to turn in his best scoring performance of the season. He also managed to chip in four rebounds and two assists in 39 minutes. The Magic move forward to face the Wizards Wednesday.

Harris delivered his best shooting performance in his last eight games but it didn't come close to making a difference in the final result as the Magic fell behind by 13 at halftime and couldn't turn things around in the second half. He did rack up eight rebounds and two steals despite playing a season-low 25 minutes in the loss, the Magic's sixth loss in their last seven games. They'll look to turn things around Friday against the Jazz.

(11/30/2014) Magic small forward Tobias Harris scored a team-high 21 points on 8 of 18 shooting in his team's 93-90 win over the Suns Sunday.

Harris keyed a quality all-around shooting night for the team, as Magic players combined to make 46.1 percent of their shots from the field. However, the small forward's 44.4 percent success rate Sunday fell short of his 47.2 percent mark coming into the game. Harris also contributed eight rebounds, two steals and one assist in 34 minutes of action. The Magic broke a four-game losing streak with Sunday's victory, and they'll look to build upon that success Tuesday against the red-hot Warriors.

Harris was dealing with a calf injury. Harris injured himself on Friday, and was unable to play until Wednesday. He started the game, playing 30 minutes. Harris scored 16 points and added 10 rebounds during the contest.

He expects to make a decision closer to gametime. 

O'Quinn has only played in one game this season, while Harris has missed the last two with a calf strain.
