Bismack Biyombo gets the start, scores eight in elimination game

(4/28/2014) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo got the start for an injured Al Jefferson Monday night against Miami. Biyombo scored seven points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 109-98 Game 4 loss, a series sweep.

Biyombo only made nine starts this season, after the team acquired Jefferson in the offseason. He finished the season with averages of 2.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 77 games.

Bismack Biyombo making limited impact

(2/22/2014) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo did a little more than usual Saturday, in a 92-89 win over the Grizzlies. Biyombo played 17 minutes off the bench and provided a solid presence  on defense and the board, finishing with seven rebounds and a pair of blocks. He added six points on 3 of 3 shooting as well.

Biyombo is probably playing the best basketball of his career, despite averaging career lows across the board. He is shooting 64.4 percent from the field, but is averaging just 3.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. 


Bismack Biyombo grabs 10 rebounds vs. Jazz

(12/21/2013) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo scored five points on 2 of 3 shooting and hauled in 10 rebounds in his team's 88-85 loss to the Jazz Saturday.

It was the sixth double-digit rebounding day of the season for Biyombo, who also blocked two shots in 17 minutes of action. He has averaged 3.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks over 24 games played.

(12/13/2013) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo returned to action off the bench during Friday's loss to the Pacers.

Biyombo went 2 of 2 shooting from the field and 2 of 3 from the free throw line. He finished the game with six points and seven rebounds, with two of them coming from the offensive end. He also chipped in with one assist and one steal while logging 17 minutes of game action in a 99-94 defeat.

Biyombo had been sidelined for a week with an ankle injury, which caused him to miss two straight games. He was averaging 3.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game before the injury.

Bismack Biyombo out Wednesday, Jeff Taylor starting

(12/11/2013) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo will not play in Wednesday's game against the Magic, but guard Jeff Taylor will return from a heel injury and start Wednesday, the team announced.

Biyombo and Taylor have both missed one game, with Biyombo dealing with a sprained ankle and Taylor returning from a bruised heel. Biyombo is expected to return to action Friday.


Bobcats duo out for Monday

(12/9/2013) The Bobcats will be without a pair of rotation members Monday against the Warriors, as both Jeff Taylor (heel) and Bismack Biyombo (ankle) were ruled out prior to tip off. Biyombo left the team's previous game and was unable to practice Saturday, while Taylor was limited in practice as a result of his.

Coach Steve Clifford did tell the Charlotte Observer he thinks both players are doing better than they were Saturday. They are likely day to day at this point. 


Bismack Biyombo misses practice Sunday

(12/8/2013) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo did not practice on Sunday, leaving his availability for Monday's game against the Warriors in doubt, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Biymobo left Friday's game with a sprained ankle and did not return. He has averaged 3.8 points and 6.8 rebounds over 18 games this season.


Bismack Biyombo exits with ankle injury

(12/6/2013) Bobcats forward Bismack Biyombo was forced to leave Friday's 105-88 win against the 76ers with an ankle injury, and he would not return after the second quarter. Biyombo played seven minutes before the injury, finishing with four points and three rebounds.

The extent of the injury is not yet known for Biyombo. He has appeared in 18 of the team's first 20 games, averaging 3.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

(12/6/2013) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo was forced out of Friday's game against the 76ers with a right ankle sprain.

Biyombo sustained the injury in the second quarter and was ruled out for the remainder of the game, according to the Charlotte Observer. He finished with four points, three rebounds and one block in seven minutes before the injury. His status remains up in the air for Monday's game against Golden State.

(11/30/2013) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo made the most of some rare playing time Friday, in a 92-76 win over the Bucks. Biyombo recorded a season-high in rebounds, while reaching 20 minutes played for the first time in five games.

Biyombo snagged 14 rebounds in his 20 minutes of playing time, while adding seven points on 3 of 4 shooting. He blocked one shot and turned the ball over twice.

Biyombo has been in and out of the rotation throughout the season, and is averaging 4.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game in 15 appearances.

(11/15/2013) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo got the start Friday against the Cavaliers, and will likely remain in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Heat. That is because starting center Al Jefferson's troublesome ankle continues to be a problem.

Biyombo played 32 minutes Friday, and managed to make an impact despite being held scoreless on one field-goal attempt. He led the team with 12 rebounds, and added three blocked shots.

Biyombo has started six of nine games for the Bobcats this season, and is averaging 3.7 points per game. He is adding a career-high 7.9 rebounds in 25.2 minutes per game as well.

(11/6/2013) Bobcats power forward Bismack Biyombo was efficient and big on the boards Wednesday night as Charlotte took down Toronto. Biyombo scored eight points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the 92-90 win.

Biyombo played 40 minutes in the game and was 3 for 4 from the field. He also blocked three shots as Charlotte held on against the Raptors.

The 21-year-old Biyombo reached 40 minutes for the first time this season and nearly recorded his second double-double in five games.

(11/1/2013) Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo played a huge role Friday against the Cavaliers, with Al Jefferson sidelined by an ankle injury.

Biyombo played 37 minutes in a 90-84 win, just two days after logging 17 minutes in bthe season opener. He scored 11 points on 5 of 6 shooting, while adding 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Biyombo will likely return to a reserve role when Jefferson is healthy. 


Bobcats pick up Walker, Biyombo, Kidd-Gilchrist options

(10/31/2013) The Charlotte Bobcats picked up 2014-15 options on guard Kemba Walker, forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and forward Bismack Biyombo Thursday, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Walker, who will make $3.3 million next season, averaged close to 35 minutes per game last season, scoring 17.7 points per game and adding 5.7 assists and 2.0 steals on average.

Kidd-Gilchrist, who is scheduled to make $5.02 million in 2014-15, racked up 9.0 points and 5.8 rebounds while playing 26.0 minutes per game during his rookie season.

Biyombo, who will make $3.87 million next season, may not approach his 27.3 minutes per game this season after the Al Jefferson signing, but he does offer a rebounding (7.3 per game in 2012-13) and blocking (1.8 per game in 2012-13) presence.


Biyombo getting more run

(4/6/2013) With the Bobcats assured of another spot at the top of the lottery, the team has once again begun to give some younger guys more run down the stretch. Forward Bismack Biyombo has been given more leash recently, as he played 33 minutes Saturday against the Nets. Biyombo put up a double-double in the game, just his fifth of the season, with 10 rebounds and 10 points. Biyombo added five blocks, in a 105-96 loss.
