News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford did not have one of his better shooting nights during Saturday's contest against the Grizzlies. Crawford finished with nine points in the 91-87 defeat on just 2 of 7 shooting from the field. He went 1 of 2 from downtown and added three rebounds, two assists and one block to his stat line, while logging 22 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Crawford has put together a solid bounce-back campaign with the Clippers this year as he improved his scoring average by nearly three points from last year. The 33-year-old looks to be a perfect fit for Los Angeles' open-style of offense and he should be stalking the 3-point line in L.A. once again next year. While Crawford can be considered a solid source for scoring and even 3 -pointers, his lack of rebounding and assist totals limit his value at times. He only averaged 22.7 Fantasy points per week -- in standard formats -- which actually has him ranked outside of the top 40 among all guards. While his value is a bit higher in Rotisserie formats, Crawford should be considered more of a low-end option on Draft Day next fall.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford has admitted that he does not yet fell completely in rhythm since returning from an ankle injury, reports the L.A. Times Wednesday. Crawford, who becomes even more important for the Clippers with Chauncey Billups and Eric Bledsoe dealing with injuries, said he still isn't 100 percent. "But I know it's going to come," he said.
Analysis: Crawford has shot almost 49 percent from the field since the beginning of March over six games and is scoring 18.0 points per night over that span with 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.8 3-pointers. If he's not 100 percent and getting closer, than Crawford could be huge for L.A. down the stretch run. Playing right now, Crawford should be active in most Fantasy formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford, who was expected to return to action following an ankle injury, saw 32 minutes Wednesday against the Grizzlies. Unfortunately, he didn't have a hot hand as he went just 1 for 10 from the field for two points. He was 0 for 4 from deep and grabbed two rebounds with one assist.
Analysis: Crawford had missed the last two games and we are not sure if his poor shooting game was due to the ankle or simply because that can happen to him from time to time. He was hot just before getting hurt. As long as Crawford continues playing, he'll shoot his way back to big numbers. He remains a worthy Fantasy option in most leagues.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford (ankle) was able to practice without restriction Monday and is being listed as probable for Wednesday's contest against the Grizzlies, according to the team's official website. "I expect him to unless there's any setback," said head coach Vinny Del Negro. Crawford has missed Los Angeles' last two games due to a left ankle injury.
Analysis: It sounds like Crawford should be able to make his return to the lineup Wednesday night as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks between now and then. That should be a more than welcoming sight for Fantasy owners as Crawford has scored 20-plus points in each of his last four games and is averaging 23 points on 59.3 percent shooting from the field over that span. He has also connected on 13 of his last 22 attempts (59 percent) from behind the arc and can be considered a high-end option in all formats when healthy. Just keep in the mind the Clippers are only slated to play twice during Fantasy Week 20 (March 11-17).

Analysis: Crawford had scored 20-plus points in each of the last four games, so this is a tough blow for Fantasy owners, especially heading into Week 20 (March 11-17). We'll continue to keep an eye on his status moving forward. The 32-year-old can score, but does not do much in other categories. He is averaging 17.2 points, 2.5 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game this season and should be viewed as a viable option in the majority of formats, when healthy.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford was ruled out of Thursday's contest against the Nuggets due to a left ankle injury, according to the Los Angeles Times. Crawford is listed as day to day with the injury.
Analysis: Crawford had scored 20-plus points in each of the last four games, so this is a tough blow for Fantasy owners in Week 19 (March 4-10). We'll continue to keep an eye on his status leading up to Sunday's game at home against Detroit. If Crawford cannot play on Sunday, then he may be viewed as an injury-risk option heading into Week 20 (March 11-17). The 32-year-old can score, but does not do much in other categories. He is averaging 17.2 points, 2.5 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game this season and should be viewed as a viable option in the majority of formats, when healthy.
News: The Los Angeles Times reports that Clippers guard Jamal Crawford, who missed the Charlotte game Tuesday because of the birth of his daughter London in Seattle, will join the Clippers for the Pacers game on Thursday. If he did not get much rest with a newborn daughter in the house, Crawford did not show that in the game. He scored 23 points in 27 minutes, while shooting 9 of 16 from the field.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 17.3 points on 47.9 percent shooting from the field over his past 10 games and he is also giving owners 2.1 made 3-pointers over that span. He is a solid Fantasy option in all leagues when healthy and active, and owners deeper Fantasy formats can consider him worth using moving forward.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford was ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Bobcats due to personal reasons, reports the Orange County Register. Crawford decided to skip the contest so he could be with his wife for the birth of his new baby girl. He is expected to rejoin the team in time for Thursday's matchup at Indiana.
Analysis: Crawford isn't expected to miss any other games this week, so he should be available to play in each of the Clippers' remaining three games in the scoring period. Despite playing through a variety of minor injuries over the past few weeks, Crawford has been able to maintain his productive ways. The 32-year-old is putting up 17.3 points on 47.9 percent shooting from the field over his past 10 games and he is also giving owners 2.1 made 3-pointers over that span. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with Crawford as a viable option in the majority of formats when he returns to the team.
News: The Los Angeles Times reports that Clippers guard Jamal Crawford is playing through pain. During their recent eight-game road trip, Crawford broke his nose against Toronto and also suffered a sore right shoulder. Crawford shut it down for one game, against the Orlando Magic, before playing the last three games on the trip. "Like I said, if you don't have that camaraderie and that family atmosphere where guys are like, 'Well, I'm out too. I'm hurt,'" Crawford said. "But with this team, you'd do anything for them. And we're all like that. It's not just me." Crawford wore a mask for his broken nose in the first game after it was injured, but he stopped wearing it during that game and hasn't worn it since. "The mask was the best defender I've seen this year," Crawford joked. "Honestly, I was like, 'Oh, no.' I couldn't even see my feet." Crawford said his shoulder has "bothered me the worst." He also has been dealing with a left thigh bruise. "Honestly, the last trip was probably the most banged up I've been at one time in my career," Crawford said. "Like different things. I had a thigh contusion. I can talk about it now, but back then you don't want to talk about it. It's like a 'True Warrior' or something. I got kneed in the thigh. My nose was broken. My shoulder was still coming around. So it was the most tough thing."
Analysis: Since sitting out the game against the Magic on Feb. 6, Crawford has averaged 18.3 points in four games. He's chipped in with 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists, but you use Crawford for scoring and little else. We hope following the All-Star break that Crawford can return at 100 percent.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford had a big game over 26 minutes off the bench Monday as L.A. dominated the 76ers in Philadelphia. Crawford went 8 for 10 from the field with three 3-pointers to score 20 points. He grabbed two rebounds and added a blocked shot in the performance for L.A.
Analysis: Crawford has poured in 20 or more points in three of his last four games and is averaging 22 points per game over that span with 2.5 3-pointers per night. He does little else for Fantasy owners, but that is enough in most formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford returned Friday against the Heat from a one-game absence due to a shoulder injury. Crawford played just 24 minutes off the bench, his lowest total in over a month, as the Clippers were out of the game early in the second half, in a 111-89 loss. Crawford struggled with his shot in the game, putting up 13 points on 6 of 15 shooting, including a 1-of-5 showing from three-point range. He added three assists in the game, but turned the ball over three times as well. Crawford has scored in double figures in five straight games that he has appeared in.
Analysis: It was good to see Crawford get out of the game without suffering a setback of any sort, and Fantasy owners know all too well that he is prone to these types of inefficient shooting showings. Crawford is averaging 16.9 points per game on 42.2 percent shooting from the field, while adding 1.9 three-pointers per game. Crawford can be frustrating on those occasions when he takes a few too many bad jumpers, but his overall performance continues to make him a solid Fantasy option in most formats, as long as he is healthy.
News: Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro told reporters that guard Jamal Crawford will return to action Friday night against the Heat after missing his last game with a sore shoulder.
Analysis: Crawford participated in the team's shootaround session and seems to be ready to go Friday, along with the rest of the Clippers that were on the injury report. The fact that the Clippers seem to be back at full strength may help Crawford's Fantasy impact against the Heat, especially since he has been playing at a high level as of late. Crawford is averaging 16.9 points on 42 percent shooting on the year, and should be viewed as a solid Fantasy option in most formats now that he is back in action.

Analysis: Crawford is already playing through a broken nose, but his shoulder injury doesn't appear to be as severe. Crawford has been performing at a quality level lately for Fantasy owners. Coming into Fantasy Week 15 (Feb. 4-10), Crawford had averaged 96 Fantasy points in the previous three scoring periods. Crawford is a viable Fantasy start in most formats when healthy.

Analysis: Crawford has been able to play through a broken nose, but now a sore shoulder for force him to miss at least one game. Fantasy owners -- especially those in daily formats -- should keep an eye on his status moving forward. Crawford is averaging 16.9 points on 42 percent shooting on the year, making him a more than viable option in most formats when healthy.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford, who was wearing a mask and dealing with a broken nose, was ready to play Sunday at Boston. Crawford participated in shootaround for L.A. and had a solid performance as he tied for the team lead with 23 points. Crawford went 8 for 15 from the field over 32 minutes and added four 3-pointers. He also dished out six assists and had two steals.
Analysis: We were hoping that Crawford would not have issues playing while wearing his mask and it appears he will not going forward. He shot extremely well while wearing the mask on Sunday and it looks like this won't become an issue. Crawford is averaging 16.4 points, 4.4 assists and 1.8 3-pointers per game over his last five and can be active in plenty of Fantasy formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford suffered a broken nose on Friday in Toronto, reports the Los Angeles Times Saturday. Crawford got an MRI on Friday and a CT Scan on Saturday but is hoping to play against the Celtics Sunday. He will be fitted for a mask and is considered a game-time decision.
Analysis: Crawford scored 14 points on Friday against the Raptors and is averaging 16 per game over his last five. He doesn't sound as if he is going to miss any time, but the mask may bother his shooting at first. Fantasy owners should view him skeptically over the next few games. He has decent Fantasy value in most deeper formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford struggled with his shot Wednesday against the Timberwolves, the third time in five games that he has made 40.0 percent or less of his shots. He shot 5 of 14 from the field in the game, but still managed to finish with 17 points, thanks to a 6-of-8 showing at the free-throw line. Crawford added one three-pointer, with two assists and two rebounds as well in 31 minutes. The Clippers would go on to win, 96-90.
Analysis: Crawford is having a big-time bounceback campaign, posting his best scoring totals since 2009-10. He is averaging 16.6 points and 2.5 assists per game, despite shooting just 42.2 percent from the field. Crawford is never going to be an efficient shooter from the field, but his three-point shooting and elite free-throw shooting make up for his lackluster field-goal percentage. Crawford is a bit of an empty scorer, but he is doing enough of that to be considered a viable Fantasy option in many formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford turned in another productive performance as he scored 20-plus points for the 17th time this season during Thursday's contest against the Suns. Analysis: Crawford continues to make a strong case for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award as he is averaging 19.7 points while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, including 45.9 percent from downtown through his last six games. Analysis: Crawford is averaging almost 20 points per game over his last five contests and that is much better than his season's average. Hitting a 3-pointer per game more than his season average, he should be active in most Fantasy formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford was finally able to knock down some shots during Tuesday's contest against the Rockets. Crawford, who had made just 12 of his previous 33 field-goal attempts, went 11 for 20 from the field in the 117-109 victory. He knocked down five of his seven shots from downtown and scored 12 straight points at one point in the fourth quarter. He finished with a season-high 30 in the win and also added one assist to his stat line while logging 29 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Crawford was in a bit of a shooting slump entering Tuesday's contest as he made just 36 percent of his shots over his last five games. However, the 32-year-old was able to snap out of it in a big way against the Rockets as he caught fire late in the contest. Crawford is in the midst of a putting together a solid bounce-back for the Clippers that has seen him put up 16.2 points on 42 percent shooting from the field. He is giving owners 1.7 made treys per game and should remain active in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford returned to action Wednesday against Dallas despite dealing with a foot injury. Crawford participated in a light shootaround prior to the game and was not considered 100 percent. That said, he played 26 minutes and was 3 of 7 from the field with two 3-pointers to score 11 points. Crawford added a block and a steal for the Clippers in the victory.
Analysis: Crawford missed two games with his foot injury and that was apparently enough to get him back in action. He may not be 100 percent for a few games, however, so Fantasy owners should temper expectation. One of the NBA's best scorers off the bench, Crawford can be active in most Fantasy formats, when healthy.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford is dealing with a sore left foot and could undergo an MRI on Saturday. The MRI would be precautionary, according to coach Vinny Del Negro, reports the Orange County Register. Crawford missed Friday's game against the Lakers and may miss a few before he returns to the court. He is considered day to day for now.
Analysis: X-rays taken on Crawford's foot came back negative and his injury is not being considered serious but the team wants to make sure they didn't "miss anything." The 32-year-old, who will miss Saturday's game against Golden State, has enjoyed a nice bounce-back season with the Clippers thus far and can be considered a viable start in most formats when healthy.

Hopefully I don't miss that many games, for sure."
Analysis: X-rays taken on Crawford's foot came back negative and his injury is not being considered serious. Still, with the Clippers playing the first of a back-to-back set, the team decided to hold him out in the hopes he will get to play Saturday night. The 32-year-old has enjoyed a nice bounce-back season with the Clippers thus far and can be considered a viable start in most formats when healthy.

Crawford scored just nine points as he went 2 of 11 from the field, 0 for 5 from 3-point range. He played 28 minutes and grabbed three rebounds in the poor performance.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging almost 16 points per game over his last five and that is with the nine-point effort. He's taking an average of 13 shots per game this year for the Clippers, so there will be games where he gets cold. That said, he's been an excellent low-end source of scoring and 3-point shooting and can be active in most Fantasy formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford turned in another productive performance during Tuesday's contest against the Nuggets. Crawford poured in 22 points in the 112-100 win on 9 of 21 shooting from the field. He went 3 for 6 from downtown and also added three rebounds, two assists and one steal while logging 31 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Crawford went through a bit of a cold spell last week, but has been able to get himself back on track over the last few games. The 32-year-old has turned in quite a bounce-back campaign for Los Angeles thus far as he was averaging 16.3 points entering his latest effort. While he can be a bit streaky, Fantasy owners should continue to roll with Crawford in the majority of formats while he is knocking down shots.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford followed up his first single-digit scoring game of the season with his least-productive game of the season Saturday against the Bucks. Crawford scored a season-low six points on just 2 of 6 shooting in 27 minutes in a 111-85 win. He added two rebounds and five assists, while turning the ball over three times.
Analysis: Crawford started the season by scoring in double figures in 21 games in a row, however he has failed to reach that mark over each of the last two games. It is too soon to be worrying, however there are signs that Crawford is starting to slip; he is shooting just 34.5 percent from the field and 27.8 percent from three-point range over the last five games. Crawford has gotten off to a huge start this season, so Fantasy owners still continue to consider him a solid option moving forward.

Analysis: Crawford has gotten off to a solid start in his first season in Los Angeles and looks well on his way to a bounce-back campaign. He is averaging 15.6 points with 4.2 assists and one steal in the previous five contests and continues to pace the Clippers in scoring off the bench. While he can be streaky at times, Crawford remains a viable play in most Fantasy formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford endured a rough shooting night, but made it up by getting to the free throw line against the Timberwolves Wednesday night. Crawford scored 11 points and dished out three assists in a 101-95 victory. He went 2 of 10 shooting from the field, including 1 of 5 from beyond the arc, and knocked down all five of his free throw attempts on the night. He also chipped in with a rebound and a steal in 27 minutes of game action.
Analysis: With Chauncey Billups back in the lineup, Crawford may lose some playing time, so we'll have to keep an eye on his role off the bench moving forward. Crawford has scored in double figures in all of his 15 games this season and has played well with the second unit as of late. He is still a threat from downtown and has averaged two 3-pointers per game this season. Fantasy owners should continue to keep him active in most formats moving forward.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford came off the bench and shot poorly on Monday night despite Los Angeles taking down San Antonio on the road. Crawford shot 4 of 14 from the field and hit one 3-pointer to score 11 points. He added three rebounds and a block over 29 minutes.
Analysis: Crawford has been averaging over 20 points per game off the bench for the Clippers as he's run the second unit nicely with Chauncey Billups out. He doesn't pass the ball much but hits almost 2 1/2 3-pointers per game. He can be active in plenty of Fantasy formats.
News: Clippers guard Jamal Crawford continues to come off the bench, but he has been doing everything but keeping it warm through the first six games. He is doing little else, with just 1.0 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game on average. Crawfords hot shooting will slow down at some point, but he is clearly a major part of the teams plans this season. He is worth starting in most Fantasy formats while he remains hot.
News:Jamal Crawford made his debut for the Clippers in Wednesday's season opener against the Grizzlies and did not disappoint. He scored a team-high 29 points in 30 minutes off the bench in the 101-92 win. He was an efficient 10 for 14 from the field, including 3 for 7 from downtown, and made 6 of 8 free throws. Crawford also chipped in with two rebounds, an assist and a steal while turning the ball over just once.
Analysis: Crawford has seen his scoring take a dip over the last two seasons but if Wednesday's performance is any indication, he should be in for a bounce-back campaign in his first season in Los Angeles. The Clippers are counting on him for scoring off the bench and he should not have much competition in the second unit. While the 32-year-old does not contribute much in the form of other stats, his scoring alone makes Crawford a viable option in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: The Clippers officially signed free-agent guard Jamal Crawford to a three-year deal Wednesday. Terms of the deal are not immediately available, however it has been reported that it is a three-year deal worth $15.7 million with the final year un-guaranteed.
Analysis: Crawford is coming off a tough season in Portland, as he averaged 14.0 points and 3.2 assists per game while shooting just 38.4 percent from the field. He never seemed comfortable playing in Portland, and he averaged just 26.9 minutes per game, his lowest since 2002-03. The Clippers played at a slower pace than the Blazers last season, however they were a more efficient offense overall, which should help Crawford find easier shots. He still produced decent scoring totals last season and should see similar minutes for Los Angeles, so consider him a low-end starting Fantasy option, worthy of targeting in the later middle rounds on Draft Day.
News: With the Trail Blazers set to play a back to back set, the team held out guard Jamal Crawford on Sunday against the Kings. He is expected to be back in the lineup on Monday at Phoenix, and could even get the start with Raymond Felton expected to sit.
Analysis: Crawford has been dealing with some issues in his knee recently, so it is not much of a surprise to see him taking some time off. With the season essentially over and Crawford already expressing his intention to opt-out of his player option at the end of the year, Fantasy owners could see Crawford's minutes reduce. However, he has been playing well recently, averaging 16.3 points per game in April, so continue to view him as a solid low-end starting option, but keep an eye on his minutes.
News: Portland guard Jamal Crawford returned to action on Wednesday night against the Nets after missing a game due to knee tendinitis. Crawford played 19 minutes as he was less than 100 percent. He went 3 of 10 from the field with a 3-pointer and scored seven points. Crawford added one assist and two steals for the Blazers.
Analysis: Crawford may not be out of the woods yet with his knee tendinitis as it isn't something that just goes away. Crawford will be dealing with it for the rest of the season. The 32-year-old is not playing so well at the moment, likely due to his knee. He's averaging just 8.8 points and less than a 3-pointer per game over his last four contests. Owners should probably keep him grounded in most formats.
News: According to Comcast Sports Net in Portland, Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford is a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Nets. Crawford is dealing with knee tendinitis, and he missed Monday's game against Utah.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in all leagues should continue to monitor what happens with Crawford, and hopefully he can return soon. When healthy and active, Crawford is a low-end starting option in the majority of leagues.
News: Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford was ruled out for Monday night's contest against the Jazz due to right knee tendinitis, according to the team's official website. Crawford is being considered day to day with his injury.
Analysis: Crawford should be able to return to the lineup in a few days, but Fantasy owners should continue to keep an eye on his status moving forward. The veteran has really struggled during his first season in Portland as the 13.3 points he is averaging is his lowest scoring output since back in 2001-02. Crawford should be considered nothing more than a low-end option in deeper formats once he returns to the lineup.
News: Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford's struggles continued during Tuesday night's contest against the Thunder. Crawford finished with just two points in the 109-95 defeat, on 1 of 7 shooting from the field. He missed all three of his attempts from downtown and also added one assist, one rebound and one steal to his stat line, while logging 20 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Crawford has been absolutely awful of late, as he can't buy a bucket for the Blazers. The 32-year-old is shooting a dreadful 18 percent from the field over his last five contests and is averaging 7.2 points over that stretch. With the playoffs now here in most formats, Crawford's inconsistent production should have him sitting in most formats.
News: Portland guard Jamaal Crawford couldn't find the range on Tuesday night against Milwaukee. He shot 1 for 8 from the field, missing all three of his 3-point attempts, in his 25 minutes off the bench. He finished with three points, three steals and one rebound in the Trail Blazers' 116-87 loss to the Bucks.
Analysis: Crawford's name was brought up in some rumors at the trade deadline, but when the smoke cleared he remained in Portland. With interim coach Kaleb Canales at the helm, things will be different for the Trail Blazers. Crawford, who been dealing with knee tendinitis, should be viewed as a low-end starting guard option while he adjusts to the new regime in Portland.
News: The Oregonian reports that Portland guard Jamal Crawford will return Friday night against the Bulls after sitting out Wednesday's game against the Knicks. Crawford, who was part of several rumored deals prior to the trade deadline, is still a member of the Trail Blazers. He has been dealing with knee tendinitis.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues can get Crawford back in your lineup, and hopefully now that the trade deadline has passed he can play better. He will still share time with Raymond Felton, but Crawford is a quality guard in all Fantasy formats when healthy.
News: With Thursdays trade deadline coming and going, the Trail Blazers were unable to find a deal for guard Jamal Crawford, who had been mentioned as a trade candidate over the last few days and was even held out of Wednesdays game against the Knicks, with most taking that as an indication that a trade was imminent. The most rumored deal, that would have landed Crawford in Minnesota fell through on Thursday, as the Timberwolves backed away from the trade at the last minute, according to the Star Tribune.Analysis: Crawford will remain in Portland for the remainder of the season, and he may be able to have an increased role in the offense as the Blazers made a number of moves designed to free up cap space and build for the future. The Blazers have been a dysfunctional team for a while, however Crawford could be able to put up his typical numbers for the rest of the season, as the team plays out the string. Crawford remains a mid-level Fantasy option in all formats now that hes staying put.
News: Amid reports that he was on the verge of being sent to Minnesota in a three-way deal, Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford was nowhere to be seen as the team took on the Knicks on Wednesday. Crawford had not been announced as inactive for the game, but he never made his way out to the bench, indicating that he will likely be moved in a trade before Thursdays deadline. After the game, Comcast Sports Net Northwest reported that Crawford had officially played his last game in a Blazers uniform.
Analysis: Crawford is going to be one of the more interesting names being mentioned leading up to the trade deadline. On Tuesday, the report was Portland had cooled on trading Crawford, but it wasn't exactly ruled out, as Wednesdays activity shows. The Timberwolves are looking for some guard depth after losing Ricky Rubio for the season. Crawford definitely fights for his minutes with Portland and has been inconsistent with his scoring all season. Perhaps if he lands in a better situation, then his Fantasy value will rise. If he stays with Portland, which is looking less and less likely, then he will remain a mid-level Fantasy start
News: Yahoo! Sports reports sources said a potential trade between Minnesota and Portland regarding Blazers guard Jamal Crawford is gaining momentum again. The trade would be part of a three-team deal trade with the Lakers that would send Minnesota forward Michael Beasley to Los Angeles.
Analysis: Crawford is going to be one of the more interesting names being mentioned leading up to the trade deadline. On Tuesday, the report was Portland has cooled on trading Crawford, but it wasn't exactly ruled a dead matter though. The Timberwolves are looking for some guard depth after losing Ricky Rubio for the season. Crawford definitely fights for his minutes with Portland and has been inconsistent with his scoring all season. Perhaps if he lands in a better situation, then his Fantasy value will rise. If he stays with Portland, then he will remain a mid-level Fantasy start.

He definitely fights for his minutes with Portland and has been inconsistent with his scoring all season. Perhaps if he lands in a better situation, then his Fantasy value will rise. If he stays with Portland, then he will remain a mid-level Fantasy start.
News: CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger reports the Trail Blazers have been among the most active teams heading into the March 15 trade deadline, seeking to move guard Jamal Crawford and acquire a big man -- either in the same or separate deals. The asking price for Crawford, however, includes a first-round pick in addition to Luke Ridnour (in a trade with the Timberwolves) or Eric Bledsoe (in a deal with the Clippers).
Analysis: We wouldn't mind seeing Crawford traded to either the Clippers or Timberwolves because now the Trail Blazers are back to putting him on the bench behind Raymond Felton. Continue to monitor what happens, but Crawford's Fantasy value would improve with the Clippers or Timberwolves since he would likely start at shooting guard for either team.
News: According to Comcast Sports Net in Portland, the Trail Blazers will move Raymond Felton back into the starting lineup against the Hornets on Monday night. Guard Jamal Crawford who has started the last four games will return to a reserve role. It's not clear why Felton is being handed the job again being that Crawford has averaged 20.5 points, shot 56 percent, and dished out 4.7 assist during his time at the point.
Analysis: We still expect Crawford to play well even in a reserve role. He is still worth using as a starting option in the majority of leagues because of his scoring ability, including shooting from deep. Don't look at this as a demotion for Crawford from a Fantasy standpoint because he can still post quality stats.
News: The Oregonian reports that Portland guard Raymond Felton said that he and coach Nate McMillan have talked about him returning the starting lineup. McMillan moved Felton to the bench, putting Jamal Crawford in as the starting point guard, before the San Antonio game just before the All-Star break. We talked about it, and he said definitely he was going to go back to that, Felton said. So whenever he decides to do it, well see. Felton said the change could come before Mondays game against New Orleans or going into the road trip. Its one he says he would welcome as he believes he is more effective when starting. Yeah, I think so, said Felton, who is averaging 9.7 points and 6.1 assists and shooting 36.8 percent from the field. Because Ive been a starter my whole life, and its just one of those things where its something that youre not comfortable with, a role that youre not comfortable with.
Analysis: We hope Felton is wrong here because Crawford has been solid as the starter. Keep an eye on what happens with Felton and Crawford, but if Crawford remains the starter as expected then he is worth starting in the majority of leagues.
News: Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan stuck with guard Jamal Crawford as the starter on Wednesday night, giving him two straight starts over Raymond Felton. I think he can get out in transition, McMillan said of Crawford prior to the game. The game plan is still to attack first. We still want to defend, rebound and see if we can get in transition before going down and looking to set up every time. Crawford didn't disappoint as he scored 21 points in his 36 minutes of action. He shot 8 for 15 from the floor, going 5 for 9 from downtown. Crawford added a steal, two blocks, five rebounds and five assists for the Trail Blazers. Despite his efforts, Portland would still lose the game, 104-95.
Analysis: Crawford didn't get his team the win on Wednesday, but he probably did enough to keep the starting gig. Over his last five games he's averaging 15.0 points, 4.4 assists and 2.8 boards, while shooting a stellar 56 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. As long as he's starting and producing like this, Crawford is worth starting in the majority of Fantasy formats at this time.
News: Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford scored 20 points and eight assists on Tuesday night against the Spurs. He shot 6 for 8 from the field and lit it up from downtown, going 5 for 7. Crawford also hit all three of his foul shots. Crawford replaced Raymond Felton in the starting lineup on Tuesday. Crawford also grabbed four rebounds in his 30 minutes of action. Portland would go on to blow out San Antonio, 137-97.
Analysis: Crawford has been playing well for the Trail Blazers and is getting a chance to run the team. He's shooting 45.1 percent from the field and a stellar 58.8 percent from long range over his last five games. It's unclear if this is a long-term move, but Crawford should be elevated in most Fantasy formats while he's in line for more minutes.
News: Portland guard Jamal Crawford will replace Raymond Felton in the Trail Blazers' starting lineup for Tuesday's game against San Antonio, according to The Oregonian. Crawford will handle the point for Portland after he played eight more minutes than Felton during a loss to the Lakers on Monday night. Crawford had 15 points and five assists in 27 total minutes. The 31-year-old is averaging 24.2 minutes over his past five games.
Analysis: Crawford's 15 points on Monday was more than Felton has scored in his past six games. He had been rumored to be added to the starting lineup over the last week as Felton has struggled with ball security and inconsistency with his shot. Crawford, meanwhile, has surrendered only one turnover in three of his past five games. It's unclear if this is a long-term move, but Crawford should be elevated in most Fantasy formats.
News: Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford missed his only shot of the game on Saturday against the Hawks. He added one assist and one block in his 13 minutes of action. Portland would go on to beat Atlanta, 97-77.
Analysis: Crawford had been rumored to be a candidate to overtake Raymond Felton as the starter. But after an outing like this, Crawford will likely keep his role coming off the bench. Over his last five games he's averaging 11.0 points and 3.4 assists. When he's on his game, Crawford is a viable low-end starting guard in most 12-team standard Fantasy leagues.
News: Portland guard Jamal Crawford sat down and reviewed film with coach Nate McMillan to concentrate on point guard play on Monday, reports the Oregonian. McMillan has reiterated that he's sticking with starting PG Raymond Felton for the time being, however.
Analysis: Felton is slumping and a lot of people are suggesting he's nearing being replaced at the point by Crawford. While McMillan has been clear that isn't happening just yet, it doesn't mean Crawford won't get a boost in minutes in that spot. The coach did have Crawford reviewing tape and that wasn't for nothing. The 31-year-old Crawford is averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 assists and 1.8 3-pointers per night over his last five games while getting 35 minutes in those contests. Should he get even more responsibility, Crawford's Fantasy value would go through the roof. He can be active in many 10- and 12-team Fantasy formats already.
News: Trail Blazers G Jamal Crawford was able to find his scoring touch during Friday night's contest against the Hornets. Crawford scored a season-high 31 points in the 94-86 win, on 10 of 16 shooting from the field. He went 2 of 7 from downtown and also chipped in with eight assists, two rebounds and one steal, while logging 30 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Crawford has been shooting the ball very well over the last two games as he has made 18 of his last 31 field-goal attempts. Crawford has scored 21 and 31 points in those two contests, respectively and seems to be finally settling into his role in Portland. While he still comes off the bench, Crawford has been seeing just over 30 minutes per night over his last 10 contests, so consider him a viable No. 3 Fantasy G heading into Week 8 (Feb. 13-19).
News: With starting point guard Ray Felton out with an ankle injury, the Trail Blazers tapped Jamal Crawford for the start on Monday against Oklahoma City, his first since the 2008-09 season. Crawford played by far his most minutes of the season, receiving 45 minutes of playing time in a 111-107 overtime loss to the Thunder. Crawford scored 17 points in the game on 6 of 18 shooting, making two three pointers and adding five assists, a steal, a block and two rebounds in the game.
Analysis: Crawford has a reputation as one of the best sixth-men in the NBA, and hasnt seen a starting lineup since leaving Golden State. However he generally plays starters minutes anyways at least before this season. His minutes played average is down to 25 per game right now, though his scoring has remained solid at 13.5 points per game. He is one of the few reserves that can actually maintain solid Fantasy value while coming off the bench, though obviously his value would increase of the Blazers were without Felton for an extended amount of time. At this point, he should be considered a useful low-end Fantasy option.
News:Jamal Crawford scored 24 points in 21 minutes for the Blazers during a 112-68 rout of Charlotte on Wednesday. Portland led 40-18 early in the second quarter and Crawford hit three straight 3-pointers to put the Blazers up 53-25 midway through the period. Crawford finished 9 of 14 from the field, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range. He has scored in double figures in five of his last six games, going over 20 points twice in that span.
Analysis: Crawford didn't get off to a great start in his first season with Portland and the team was trying to find ways to break him out of his scoring slump. But it finally appears Crawford is settling in with Portland. He is averaging 17.3 points per game in his last six outings, while shooting 48.7 percent from the field (38 for 78) in that span. Fantasy owners sure hope Crawford can keep up this scoring pace because he is starting to become a reliable Fantasy start again.
News: Portland G Jamal Crawford had another efficient night from the floor on Monday against the Jazz. He scored 14 points on 6 of 12 shooting in the 93-89 loss. He missed all three of his shots from beyond the arc but converted both of his free throws while playing 24 minutes off the bench. Crawford also posted two assists in the defeat.
Analysis: Crawford has not been shooting the ball that well so far this season but he looks to be turning things around. He is making 45 percent of his attempts in his last five contests, and is averaging 16 points with 4.8 assists over that span. While he likely will not put up more than 20 points on a nightly basis with LaMarcus Aldridge in Portland, Crawford remains productive enough to be considered a low-end option in Fantasy.
News: Portland G Jamal Crawford led his team in scoring on Monday night against Sacramento. He finished with a season-high 26 points in 32 minutes off the bench in the 101-89 win. He went 9 for 18 from the field, including 2 for 5 from downtown, and made 6 of 7 free throws. Crawford also chipped in with five assists and three rebounds in the victory. It was his fifth 20-point performance of the year. "All these guys said, 'Just play,'" said Crawford, who joined the Blazers last month as a free agent. "[They said] you've got to be the person you were before you came here. You can't try to fit it in."
Analysis: Crawford has been able to pick up his scoring of late as he is averaging 14.2 points with 3.6 assists and 1.8 rebounds in his last five games. He is shooting 36 percent over that span and 26 percent from beyond the arc. The 31-year-old does not provide owners with much else other than scoring so keep an eye on his progress going forward. But since he can go off at any point, continue to view Crawford as a viable option in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: In his first game back against the Hawks, the team he spent the last two seasons with, Trail Blazers G Jamal Crawford had one of his best games of the season, scoring 22 points off the bench. However his former teammates got the best of his current squad, defeating them 92-89 despite a big fourth-quarter push that saw them outscore the Hawks by 10. "Right now, it seems like we're playing harder when we get down instead of playing that way from the beginning of the game," Crawford said. "That makes it tougher on us to come back and pull out games." Part of the issue for the Trail Blazers is that while Crawford scored a team-leading 22, he shot just 8 of 22 from the field, though he did have five assists and no turnovers.
Analysis: Crawfords shot has gone missing this season, as hes hitting on just 34.5 percent of his shots on the season. This is a career low, we he hasnt shot below 40 percent since 2006-07. He is also averaging just 12.7 points, his lowest total since 2002-03. The Trail Blazers signed him for his scoring off the bench, but it hasnt been there consistently this year. Hes been a useful Fantasy player in the past, but right now, Crawford is being extremely inefficient right now, and with how little else he contributes besides scoring, Fantasy owners would be best served by looking to other options than Crawford at this point. Hes just a low-end Fantasy guard right now.
News: Portland guard Jamal Crawford did everything in his power on Wednesday night to keep his team close. Crawford scored a season-high 24 points off the bench on a 10-for-17 shooting performance. Crawford hit 50 percent of his 3-point attempts, but the Trail Blazers didn't look his way when the game was on the line late in the fourth quarter. Orlando would hold on for the 107-104 win. He added three boards and five assists in the outing.
Analysis: Just like his role in Atlanta, Crawford doesn't start but always produces. He's averaging 11.8 points and 2.7 assists per game over his last five contests. Even though he doesn't start for his team, Crawford typically does enough to warrant Fantasy attention. Owners should continue to view Crawford as a viable option in the majority of leagues.
News: Portland guard Jamal Crawford scored 17 points off the bench on Thursday night against Los Angeles. He shot 6 for 15 from the field, connecting on 1 of his 2 attempts from downtown, as well as hitting four foul shots. Crawford provided a spark in his 23 minutes as the Trail Blazers rallied to beat the Lakers, 107-96. He added two boards, three assists, a steal and two blocks in the victory.
Analysis: Crawford was coming off a slow game on Tuesday night but got right back on track for the Trail Blazers. He's showing he was a great offseason acquisition as he's averaging 15.2 points over his last five outings off the bench. Even though he doesn't start for Portland, Crawford should be considered a viable guard option in most Fantasy formats.
News: Portland G Jamal Crawford notched 22 points and five rebounds during the Trail Blazers' 111-102 win over Denver on Thursday night. Crawford connected on 6 of 16 shots from the field (1 for 5 from long range) as he scored 14 of his points in the fourth quarter alone. He was also a perfect 9 for 9 from the free-throw line and has netted all 11 attempts from the charity stripe in three games this season.
Analysis: Crawford didn't make a promising impression during the preseason after the 11-year veteran signed with Portland earlier this month. However, he shook off a poor shooting performance and finished with a higher scoring output Thursday than his previous two games combined. Crawford isn't starting with the Blazers, but is averaging 26 minutes per game thus far. Consider him a mid-range option in most Fantasy formats for now.
News: Newly-acquired Trail Blazers G Jamal Crawford scored 12 points in the Blazers 92-89 loss to Utah in the final game of the preseason. Unfortunately, he required 16 shots to do so, making just three of them. He missed all five of his attempts from three-point range, and a six of eight showing on free throws was about all that redeemed his performance. He did add five assists.
Analysis: Crawford struggled in the preseason, but happily for Fantasy owners, those games dont count. Crawford is an 11-year veteran, so were not worried about his performance once the games start to matter. He may struggle to find his place in Portland at first, but hell be fine. The 31-year old averaged 14.2 points and 3.2 assists for the Hawks last season. Crawford gives great value on a per-minute basis, but his minutes will likely be limited as in recent years, so consider him more of a mid-round pick on Draft Day.
News: Portland SG Jamal Crawford has only had two practices with his new team, but coach Nate McMillan has been playing him at point guard, reports the Oregonian Monday. McMillan wants the ball in Crawford's hands as much as possible. The coach believes that Crawford has versatility and can play a few different roles this season, including every position except power forward and center. "We're going to take advantage of him wherever we can, McMillan said. Hes shown that he can score, but hes also shown that he can play the point. You take advantage of him and make your adjustments during the game.
Analysis: Crawford could come off the bench for the Blazers and be the point guard of the second unit behind starter Raymond Felton. He could also start at the shooting guard slot, though the Blazers have Wesley Matthews. Crawford will see a variety of roles with Portland this season. Crawford gives great value on a per-minute basis, but his minutes will likely be limited as in recent years, so consider him more of a mid-round pick on Draft Day.
News: SI.com reports and CBSSports.com senior writer Ken Berger confirms that unrestricted free agent guard Jamal Crawford has chosen to sign a 2-year contract worth $10 million with the Trail Blazers. The second year of the deal will be on a player's option. The 31-year old 31, averaged 14.2 points and 3.2 assists for the Hawks last season.
Analysis: The Blazers needed to add scoring on the wing with the retirement of Brandon Roy, and they have found it in the NBA's 2010 sixth man of the year award winner. Crawford will likely continue to come off of the bench, and will back up Wesley Matthews at shooting guard. Crawford is a high-volume scorer who is comfortable handling the ball or playing off of it, and he joins a deep Portland team that needs offensive play makers on the perimeter. Normally, we would warn you to keep in mind the sluggish pace the Blazers play at (slowest in the NBA in 2010-11), which can deflate a player's counting stats, but Crawford is coming from Atlanta, a team that plays at the 27th slowest pace. He won't see much of a difference there, so his value likely won't change much. He gives great value on a per-minute basis, but his minutes will likely be limited as in recent years, so consider him more of a mid-round pick on Draft Day.
News: Free agent G Jamal Crawford has turned down a two-year deal offer from the Pacers, according to multiple reports. Ken Berger of CBSSports.com is reporting Crawford is now considering offers from Portland, New York and Sacramento.
Analysis: Crawford turned down a chance to play alongside newly signed David West in Indiana and is now reportedly mulling three more offers. While 31-year-old is coming off a very down year, Crawford could be in for a bounce-back campaign, depending on where he signs. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on where he lands this season. Despite his down season, Crawford can still be viewed as a premium source for three-point shooting and scoring, making him worthy of a mid-round pick on Draft Day.
News: The Knicks sent a team official to meet with guard Jamal Crawford Monday in his hometown of Seattle, reports the New York Daily News. The Knicks would like to convince Crawford to sign a one-year, $2.5 million contract with one of his former teams.
Analysis: The Knicks cannot afford more than $2.5 million and Crawford is reportedly seeking a bigger pay day. That said, Crawford has also expressed a desire to return to the Knicks. Crawford, who is one of the top sixth men in the NBA, averaged 14.2 points, 3.2 assists and 1.7 rebounds this past year with 119 3-pointers. His stats were down from his standout campaign in 2009-10 when he averaged 18.0 points, 3.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 163 3-pointers. In fact, last year was the first season since 2005-06 that he averaged less than 17 points per game. We expect Crawford to be a quality scorer no matter where he plays next season. If he comes to the Knicks, though, his value could be even higher.
News: Free agent guard Jamal Crawford, who is open to returning to the Hawks, told the New York Daily News that his preference would be to return to the New York area. Crawford's chances of returning to either New York or New Jersey increased when he changed agents and signed with Andy Miller, who has ties to the area.
Analysis: Crawford, who is one of the top sixth men in the NBA, averaged 14.2 points, 3.2 assists and 1.7 rebounds this past year with 119 3-pointers. If he returns to the Hawks he would again come off the bench, but he if he signs elsewhere he could become a potential starter. Depending on where he ends up, Crawford could be a steal for Fantasy owners on Draft Day.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Hawks guard Jamal Crawford, who is expected to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, sought a contract extension last summer but was rebuffed. He said hes open to returning to Atlanta. Ive definitely liked the experience, he said. But if I get to the point of July, its basically been a year that weve been talking [about a contract], and at that point I would pretty much have to weigh my options.
Analysis: Crawford, who is one of the top sixth men in the NBA, averaged 14.2 points, 3.2 assists and 1.7 rebounds this past year with 119 3-pointers. Depending on where he ends up, Crawford could be a steal for Fantasy owners on Draft Day. Stay tuned.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford notched his second straight double-digit scoring game during Sunday's 114-109 loss to the Rockets. Crawford finished with 15 points in the defeat on 5 of 13 shooting from the field. He scored 11 of his 15 points in the second quarter, which helped the Hawks jump out to an early lead. However, he faded down the stretch and finished with just 2 of 6 from downtown. He did dish out three assists in the contest to go along with three rebounds and a b.lock.
Analysis: Crawford has really struggled this season to get into any kind of groove. His productive continues to be extremely inconsistent at best, which is the result of his shooting percentage being down. For whatever reason he just can't seem to knock down shots this season, especially from 3-point range. In fact, the 33.7 percent he is shooting from downtown is his worst shooting percentage from behind the arc since 2006-07. Still, he continues to be the first Hawk off the bench for coach Larry Drew and should continue to see decent minutes over the final few games of the season. Fantasy owners should consider the 30-year-old a solid low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 24 April 4-13).
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford was limited to nine points in Sunday's game against Detroit, continuing his run of poor performances. Crawford has totaled just 26 points combined over his last four outings.
Analysis: Crawford played 30 minutes and was the primary backup at both guard spots in a game in which the Hawks used just eight players. With Jeff Teague not playing at all, you would expect Crawford to put up better numbers against a team like the Pistons. Such was not the case and even with four games ahead of him in Week 22 (March 21-27), we recommend going with alternatives where possible.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford's shooting struggles continued in Tuesday's 101-87 loss to the Lakers. Crawford finished with nine points in the contest on 2 of 8 shooting from the field. He went 1 of 5 from downtown and also chipped in with three rebounds while logging 23 minutes off the bench. Crawford is shooting just 33 percent from the field over his last five games.
Analysis: Crawford just can't seem to get himself going of late. The former Sixth-man of the Year just can't seem to find his range, especially from deep which has continued to baffle Fantasy owners. With most leagues waiver wire's completely picked over, owners really have no choice but to continue to roll with the 30-yea-old. He could still get hot at any point and end up being a very valuable piece to most Fantasy teams come playoff time.
News: Atlanta SG Jamal Crawford has only shot 31 percent from the field over his last three games for the Hawks. Crawford scored 11 points on Monday at Denver on 3 of 12 shooting over 30 minutes. He's gone 11 for 35 over his last three games, though he has made nine 3-pointers over that stretch.
Analysis: If Crawford isn't hitting his shots, he's not much good to Fantasy owners. He's a shooter who does little else to make Fantasy owners happy. When he's cold, he's not worth starting in most Fantasy leagues. When he's hot, he can be active across the board.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford opened the second half of the season shooting much better on Wednesday night in a loss in Phoenix. Playing without Mike Bibby or the player he was traded for, Kirk Hinrich, Crawford still came off the bench with Jeff Teague starting at the point. Crawford shot 8 of 14 from the field and scored 19 points. He hit on 3 of 5 from 3-point range. Crawford also chipped in five rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Analysis: Crawford's role is unlikely to change in the aftermath of the trade that went down with Washington Wednesday. As long as he's hitting his shots, he should be a solid Fantasy option for the Hawks.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford did not end the first half of the season on a high note. After averaging a season-best 18.6 points in the month of January, Crawford is averaging just 9.9 points through seven games in February and has only scored in double figures once over that stretch. That one time was a 34-point performance against the Clippers, but the veteran guard has scored a combined 28 points in the five games that have followed. He is shooting just 26 percent from the field over his last five games and has made just one of his last 13 3-point attempts.
Analysis: Crawford is normally one of the better shooters on the Hawks' roster, but the 30-year-old has really struggled with his shot of late. He is shooting just 36 percent from the floor in the month of February, and is just 25 percent from behind the arc over that stretch. While there is no about he has been ice cold of late, Crawford's struggles in February are nothing new. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year is shooting a career-worst 39 percent during the second month of the calender year and his 33 career percentage from downtown ranks next to last. Crawford's numbers get drastically better in March and April, so there is still plenty of time for him to get back on track. Based on his track record, Crawford should be able to turn things around and should still be considered a solid guard option heading into the second half of the season.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford broke out with a 34-point performance three games ago, but has since tallied a total of 17. That was capped off by his 1-for-9 shooting display on Saturday night against the Bobcats. The veteran guard missed all four of his 3-point attempts and finished with just two points. He added one rebound and seven assists in his 27 minutes of action. Crawford and the Hawks would not hold on to the lead, as the Bobcats rallied to win the game, 88-86.
Analysis: Crawford is normally one of the better shooters on the Hawks' roster, but has been struggling lately. Over his last five outings he's scored in double figures just once and is shooting 21 for 57 (36.8 percent) from the field. He's averaging 11.6 points, 4.4 assists and 1.0 steal per contest over that span. The only one of those stats that is up from his season totals is his assists -- but let's face it, if you own Crawford you don't expect him to lead your team in assists. He's a shooter, plain and simple. He's a solid guard option in all Fantasy formats and despite his struggles, should be able to help owners out in a shortened Week 17 (Feb. 14-20).
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford was finally able to break out of his shooting slump in Friday's 101-100 win over the Clippers. Crawford, who shooting just 33 percent from the field over his last five games, was 12 of 22 from the floor on Friday night. He went 5 of 12 from downtown and finished with a team-high 34 points in the victory. Crawford was able to hit five of his six foul shots in the contest and also chipped in with four assists and two steals in 37 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Crawford was mired in a horrible shooting of late, but seemed to find his shooting stroke on Friday. This bodes very well for Fantasy owners, who half watched the former sixth-man of the year scored a combined 29 points over his last three contests. Sometimes shooters will go through these types of slumps during the season, but hopefully his latest effort will get him back on track. Continue to view him as solid low-end Fantasy guard in most formats heading into Fantasy Week 16 (Feb. 7-13).
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford is amidst a streak of poor shooting, but the Hawks guard doesn't consider it a slump, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday. "I don't like the word 'slump,'" Crawford said. "They are going to go in. I just have to continue to shoot them."
Analysis: Crawford has only shot above 50 percent from the field once in his last eight games and is shooting just 32.9 percent in the other seven, averaging 12.3 points per game over that span. Still, his coach Larry Drew has been happy with his shot selection and everyone involved seems to believe his shot will come around at any moment. Let Crawford keep shooting and continue using him in most deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford has not been shooting the ball that well of late and that trend continued on Saturday night against the Mavericks. He scored 11 points on 4 of 12 shooting in the 102-91 loss. He was only able to make 1 of 7 of his attempts from beyond the arc but was a perfect 2 for 2 from the charity stripe. Crawford, who played 36 minutes off the bench, also had two assists and two steals in the defeat.
Analysis: Crawford has scored 20 points just one time in his last eight games and has not been shooting particularly well. While he is averaging 14 points with 1.8 assists and 1.2 rebounds over his last five contests, he is making 33.8 percent of his shots over that span. The 30-year-old has always been known as a streaky shooter and should eventually break out of this slump. Hopefully he will be able to get back on track against the Raptors, Clippers and Wizards in Week 15 (Jan. 31-Feb.6), but even so, Crawford remains a viable option in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford has scored just 16 points over his last two games -- this comes after he scored a season-high 36 points just three games ago. Crawford shot 2 for 9 from the field -- missing both his 3-point attempts -- and converted all four of his foul shots, finishing with eight points. He added seven assists and two rebounds in the Hawks 100-98 win over the Kings. Over his last two outings, Crawford has gone 5 for 20 from the field and 2 for 8 from behind the 3-point arc.
Analysis: Crawford is still averaging 19.6 points and 3.6 assists over his last five contests, but Fantasy owners would like to see more consistency from the veteran guard. He's among one of the best scorers off the bench in the NBA, which gives him plenty of Fantasy value. Hopefully he'll get back on track, but Fantasy owners shouldn't jump to conclusions. Crawford is still a viable guard option in the majority of formats.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford scored 25 points in the first half off the bench on Wednesday against the Raptors. He logged 16 minutes and shot 10 for 14 -- 3 for 6 from downtown -- and was 2 for 2 from the foul line. He'd let his temper get the better of him in the fourth quarter as he was called for a foul on Leandro Barbosa and then proceeded to argue with officials. He received a technical foul, giving Toronto a 4-point play. Later in the fourth quarter Crawford would toss up an air ball as the shot clock was running down, and then on the next possession hit a deep 3-pointer with time running down on the Hawks. He'd then get fouled on a 3-pointer and receive three foul shots putting Atlanta in the lead. Crawford finished with a season-high 36 points, two assists and three rebounds in his 34 minutes of action. Atlanta would hold on for the 104-101 win over Toronto.
Analysis: Crawford is the highest scoring bench player in the NBA, which gives him plenty of Fantasy value. Hes every coachs dream when you talk about a guy who can come off the bench and get you going, coach Larry Drew told the Atlanta Journal Constitution following the game. He knows what I expect from him. When the team is not going well and we need productivity off the bench, he comes in there and I run plays for him to get us going and tonight he kept us around that first half and then we found a way at the end. Over his last five games, Crawford is averaging 27.4 points, 4.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds per contest. He's also shooting 47 percent from downtown over that span. Fantasy owners should continue to view Crawford as a viable guard option in most formats.
News: Due to inclement weather conditions in the Atlanta area, the result of a snow storm that has engulfed much of the southeast, Tuesday's game between the Bucks and Hawks was postponed. Officials made the decision on Tuesday afternoon after determining that travel conditions would be too dangerous for fans to attend the game. As a result, Hawks SG Jamal Crawford will play one fewer game in Fantasy Week 12 (Jan. 10-16).
Analysis: Crawford is a quality Fantasy option in all leagues, but will now only play a pair of games in Week 12, as long as the Hawks can get out of town for Wednesday's game against the Raptors. Crawford remains a viable option in deeper Fantasy leagues, even if his 16 points a game are the lowest he's put up in five years.
News: With the weather a potential problem in Atlanta on Tuesday due to a snow storm, there is a chance the NBA could reschedule the game between the Bucks and Hawks. Fantasy owners should take that into consideration when setting your lineup with Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford. As of Monday, the Hawks are scheduled for three games in Fantasy Week 12, so if the game is postponed that would be two games during this scoring period. A spokesman for the Hawks said the Bucks were able to arrive in Atlanta on Monday, but "a lot could depend on the overnight weather conditions and the roads" regarding Tuesday's game.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should use caution when setting your lineup for this scoring period with Crawford. It's a good sign that the Bucks were able to make it to Atlanta, but the NBA might have outside concerns with fans traveling to the game. Crawford is a quality Fantasy option in all leagues, and we would advise keeping him reserved with the potential of only two games. If the game with Milwaukee is played then Crawford would be worth starting, but he's not worth the risk based on the concerns with the weather.

News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford dropped a season-high 31 points in Tuesday's 108-102 win over the Kings. Crawford shot 10 of 17 from the field in the victory, including 3 of 6 from downtown. He scored eight of his points at the charity stripe and also dished out seven dimes to go along with two rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Crawford continues to thrive coming off the bench for the Hawks and has scored at least 20 points in three straight contests. The former Sixth-Man of the Year is seeing around 30 minutes a game and appears to back playing at 100 percent after missing some time earlier in the season with a back injury. Fantasy owners should continue to view Crawford as a No. 3 Fantasy guard for the current scoring period.
News: With Marvin Williams back in Atlanta, guard Jamal Crawford picked up the slack on Friday against the Thunder. He scored 26 points on a 8-for-15 shooting performance -- going 3 for 7 from downtown -- and nailing 7 of his 9 foul shots. Crawford would add five steals, two rebounds and three assists in his 37 minutes of action. His efforts would come in a losing effort though as Oklahoma City beat Atlanta, 103-94.
Analysis: Crawford hasn't been scoring much lately, as he's averaging just 13.8 points and 3.5 assists over his last four games. His three 3-pointers on Friday matched his total from his previous three games combined. The veteran guard has missed some time this year with a back injury, but seems to be 100 percent right now. Consider him a solid guard option in deeper Fantasy leagues, solely for his scoring and 3-point shooting.
News: Falcons SG Jamal Crawford (back) was able to return for Sunday's game against New Orleans. He had missed the team's previous five games.
Analysis: Crawford may need a couple of games to get back in the swing of things. He has missed a golden opportunity for increased production with Joe Johnson returning weeks earlier than expected from his elbow injury. But Crawford can be a steady source of double-digit scoring and 3-point shooting while healthy and will be worth activating in deeper leagues now that he is back.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford could not play through his back injury on Wednesday night against Cleveland. It was the fifth straight game he missed with a sore back. Crawford is day to day and Marvin Williams has been filling his role for the team.
Analysis: Crawford's Fantasy value took a big hit when Joe Johnson returned weeks earlier than anticipated from his elbow injury. He remains more of a No. 4 guard in standard formats and should not be activated in any league until he can prove healthy again on the floor.
News: According to the team's official website, Hawks G Jamal Crawford (back) has been ruled out for a fifth straight game Wednesday night against Cleveland. He remains day-to-day.
Analysis: Crawford's Fantasy value took a big hit when Joe Johnson returned weeks earlier than anticipated from his elbow injury. He remains more of a No. 4 guard in standard formats and should not be activated in any league until he can prove healthy again on the floor.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford (back) was held out of Monday's game against Orlando. He was held out of action Sunday against the Nets in New Jersey as well. Crawford also did not play in Friday's 90-85 win over the Bobcats. That is three straight games missed for Crawford, who is considered day to day.
Analysis: Crawford's Fantasy value took a big hit this week, not just because of the back issue. Joe Johnson returned weeks earlier than anticipated from his elbow injury and Fantasy owners should expect Crawford's recent surge to dissipate whenever he does return. He remains more of a No. 4 guard in standard formats -- and right now, he's a risky one at that.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford (back) was held out of action Sunday against the Nets in New Jersey. Crawford also did not play in Friday's 90-85 win over the Bobcats. The team considers him day-to-day going forward.

News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford (back) did not play in Friday's 90-85 win over the Bobcats because of a sore back. Crawford also sat out Thursday's loss to the Celtics and remains day to day.
Analysis: Crawford's absence will not be as devastating for Atlanta as the team welcomed star guard Joe Johnson back from injury much sooner than expected. Crawford, who has averaged 19.0 points in his last five games, has a season-low two points in his last game Tuesday night at Detroit. Monitor his status and when he's healthy, consider Crawford a must-start in most Fantasy formats.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford (back) will miss the Hawks' game against Charlotte on Friday night. It's the second straight game he'll sit out with a sore back. Crawford missed Thursday's game as the Hawks wanted to provide him rest. He is considered day-to-day.

News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford was not active on Thursday night as the Hawks lost to the Celtics, 102-90. Crawford scored just two points in 31 minutes on Tuesday night. Atlanta faces Charlotte on Friday, so there is a chance Crawford's back will be better. He's considered day to day.
Analysis: Crawford struggled on Tuesday and was given some more time to rest as the Hawks played in back-to-back games. Despite his poor outing in his last game, Crawford is still averaging 18.2 points, 3.6 assists and a 3-pointer per contest over his last five games. With Joe Johnson out, Crawford will be leaned on to pick up the slack. When he's healthy, Crawford is a solid guard choice in Fantasy leagues. Keep him stashed for now, but get him ready to get him active for Week 9 (Dec. 20-26) as the Hawks play three games.
News: Hawks SG Jamal Crawford will miss Thursday's game at Boston with a back injury, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Crawford played Tuesday against the Pistons, but he scored just two points in 31 minutes, shooting 1 for 6 from the field.
Analysis: Crawford clearly wasn't himself Tuesday, so a day off will likely do him some good. His scoring has been down this season, but he has picked it up in the absence of Joe Johnson (elbow), topping 20 points in three straight games before Tuesday's debacle. Crawford is day to day with this injury, so you should continue to stash him in Fantasy.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Jamal Crawford (back) did not participate in his team's light workout on Wednesday morning before the team traveled to Boston for Thursday's game against the Celtics. Crawford claimed that his back was bothering him after Tuesday's poor performance against the Pistons during which he shot just 1 for 6 from the field. He added that he was not sure if he will be able to play on Thursday night in Boston.
Analysis: Crawford had been on a roll with Joe Johnson sidelined. He had scored 20-plus in three straight games with good assist numbers. In fact, he was doing his best Johnson impersonation. Back issues can be tricky, however, and Fantasy owners should be prepared to go with healthy alternatives until he can prove healthy again. If he does, it appears Crawford could be of high-end value for much of the next month.

News: Atlanta forward Jamaal Crawford turned in a team-high 23 points off the bench in the Hawks' 108-92 loss at San Antonio on Friday. Crawford, receiving extended playing time while All-Star guard Joe Johnson recovers from surgery, logged 34 minutes Friday, the second-highest among Atlanta players. In his first seven minutes of action, Crawford was scorching and scored 13 points (5 for 7 including a pair of 3-pointers) but he cooled down in the next 21 minutes, going 3 for 11 for 10 points.
Analysis: Crawford, who contributed five assists, three rebounds and a steal Friday, continues to earn solid playing time recently and has now played at least 29 minutes in the six games since Johnson has been out of the lineup. He will continue to log plenty of minutes and his 14.6 points per game average if fourth on the Hawks. His back-to-back 20-point performances now gives him five games this season with more than 20 points. With Johnson still out, Crawford makes for a solid Fantasy option and should be considered a must-start while his hot stretch continues.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford scored a season-high 26 points in Tuesday's 116-101 win over the Nets. Crawford shot 11 of 17 from the field and also chipped in with six assists and two rebounds in 37 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 31 minutes per game over his last five, a slight boost from his numbers when Johnson was playing. Despite his strong outing on Tuesday, Crawford has not seen any increase in his scoring average of late and his shooting continues to be atrocious. The rest of his statistics leave a lot to be desired, too. Crawford is really just a mediocre source of 3-point shooting until he heats up for the Hawks.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford is still coming off the bench and still putting up mediocre production since Joe Johnson went down with injury. On Monday night in Orlando, Crawford played 29 minutes and shot just 6 for 17 from the field to score 15 points. He went 1 for 2 from long range and added two rebounds and two steals.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 31 minutes per game over his last five, a slight boost from his numbers when Johnson was playing. That said, he's not seen any increase in his scoring average of late and his shooting continues to be atrocious. The rest of his statistics leave a lot to be desired, too. News: The Hawks announced Wednesday night that G Joe Johnson could miss as much as 4-6 weeks of action after an MRI revealed a need for arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow. In his absence, Jamal Crawford is likely to take on a more prominent role. On Wednesday against the Grizzlies, Crawford struggled from the field going 4 of 12, but he finished with 16 points and eight assists.
Analysis: Crawford did not get the start on Wednesday night against the Grizzlies, that went to Maurice Evans. But Crawford will be asked to play big minutes and take on a much more active scoring role. He entered play Wednesday averaging just 13.9 points per game, but is a player who could score in the high teens. He averaged 20.6 points per game for the Knicks in 2007-08. He instantly becomes a player worth activating in most formats.

News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford scored 21 points off the bench on Saturday afternoon in a win over the Knicks. Crawford shot 8 of 18 from the field and nailed three 3-pointers over 27 minutes on the floor. He added three assists and two steals but did not grab a rebound in the 99-90 win. "It's always fun to come back here," said Crawford, who spent four-plus seasons playing at Madison Square Garden. "After spending most of my career here, it always feels good to come back. To be able to be victorious against a team that's been playing great -- they won five in a row -- we were aware of that. It's just fun to come out and get a win."
Analysis: Crawford has been uneven over his last few games. He has two 20-plus scoring efforts but he has been limited in other performances. His shooting is not consistent by any stretch. Also, he doesn't help out much outside scoring and 3-point shooting. Still, he does enough of both of those to matter in most Fantasy leagues still.
News: Atlanta G Jamal Crawford came off the bench to lead his team in scoring during Tuesday's loss to the Nets. Crawford played 37 minutes and scored 21 points as he went 8 for 14 from the field. Crawford hit all three 3-pointers he attempted and added five rebounds, three assists and a block.
Analysis: Crawford was over 20 points for the first time in a while as he finally had a good shooting night. We told you that better shooting days were to come for Crawford. That said, he needs to do this consistently before he gains Fantasy value again in all leagues. If he goes right back to scoring around 10-12 points with poor shooting, Crawford should remain more of an option in deeper formats.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford, who has struggled this season shooting just 41 percent and scoring 13.3 points per game, told AOL Fanhouse that his unresolved contract extension is partly to blame for his poor play. "I think with everything going on, I'm just thinking too much and not just playing basketball," he said. "I'd be lying if I said it hasn't crossed my mind, you know, the future...Everything's been a little bit of a distraction."
Analysis: Crawford is making over $10 millions this year and would become an unrestricted free agent if Atlanta chooses not to extend him. You would think this would motivate him to play harder in order to guarantee himself another big pay day. Instead, he's using it as an excuse for his poor play. He's been even worse lately, averaging just 10 points per game over his last five. Crawford should only be active in deeper Fantasy leagues right now until he does start figuring it out.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford struggled to find the bucket on Saturday night against the Mavericks. He shot 20 percent from the field and missed all four of his 3-pointers. He would make 5 of his 6 foul shots, which would give him nine points on the night. Crawford did dish out a team-high seven assists, grabbed one rebound and had a steal in his 34 minutes of action. He also committed five of his team's 12 turnovers in Atlanta's 93-98 loss to Dallas.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 10.3 points and 4.6 assists per game over his last three outings. He's been shooting a decent percentage from the field (42.9) before Saturday's debacle. Crawford will continue to get starters' minutes off the bench, but has to do more with his minutes. He's worth starting as a low-end starting Fantasy guard. Atlanta plays five games in Week 5 (Nov. 22-28), so owners will have to keep their fingers crossed he breaks out of this mini slump.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford continues to shoot the ball well for the Hawks as he nailed two 3-pointers and shot 50 percent from the field on Friday night. He finished with 14 points, one rebound and two assists, but it wasn't enough as the Jazz beat the Hawks, 90-86. He's been shooting over 40 percent from the field all season, but has struggled from downtown, shooting just 28 percent.
Analysis: Crawford is pretty much the sixth starter for Atlanta as he gets starters' minutes and puts up solid numbers. Fantasy owners should consider him a nice No. 3 Fantasy guard in most leagues as he continues to produce off the bench. Heading into Week 4 (Nov. 15-21) owners should adjust their lineups accordingly as Atlanta plays just two games in the scoring period.
News: Hawks F Jamal Crawford came off the bench in Friday's game against the Timberwolves after missing the previous game with a toe injury. He scored a team-high 22 points while playing 32 minutes in the 113-103 win. Crawford shot 8 for 14 from the field, including 1 for 4 from beyond the arc, and made all five of his free-throw attempts. He also hauled in five rebounds and dished out one assist with a blocked shot in the victory. "Guys are always stepping up, always filling positions," Crawford said. "Hopefully every time somebody's off, somebody else can pick 'em up."
Analysis: Crawford looks to be all healed up from his toe injury and is averaging 17 points through his first five games this season. He can provide Fantasy owners with a ton of points, as well as solid 3-point shooting while coming off the bench in Atlanta. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year doesn't offer much in assists or rebounds, but he's good enough to serve as a No. 3 Fantasy guard in most leagues.
News: According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Hawks G Jamal Crawford is expected to play Friday at Minnesota. He missed Wednesday's game with a toe injury.
Analysis: Even though the Hawks will be without Marvin Williams, who has a sprained right knee, coach Larry Drew recently said he would prefer not to make Crawford a starter. Doesn't make a difference to Fantasy owners. Crawford is productive enough off the bench, serving as a high-end source of points and 3-pointers. With the expectation he'll play Friday, you should prepare to get him active in daily leagues.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford, who missed Wednesday's game with a toe injury, will travel with the team to Minnesota but is questionable for Friday's game against the Timberwolves, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Coach Larry Drew said he's leaning against putting him in the starting lineup for Friday's game. Him off the bench just gives us such a weapon, he said. If I dont have to disrupt that, I dont want to.
Analysis: Crawford also missed some time this preseason with a back injury, but when healthy, he's still capable of putting up big numbers, averaging 15.8 points and 3.0 assists in four games. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year doesn't offer much outside of points and 3-pointers, but he's good enough in those categories to serve as a No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford (toe) could not play in Wednesday's game against the Pistons. He is day to day with the injury and is questionable for Friday at Minnesota. Crawford said after the game Wednesday that he hopes to play on Friday.
Analysis: Crawford missed a chunk of the preseason with a back injury, so adding to his list of ailments should hinder his progress further. Consider giving Crawford a week or two on you Fantasy bench so he can get healthy.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford (back) was able to play in Wednesday's regular season opener against Memphis. He played 25 minutes off the bench and scored 13 points off 5 for 11 shooting from the field. He added two assists and a rebound and also blocked
Analysis: Crawford missed a good chunk of the preseason with the back injury and may not be in the best of shape just yet. He is an efficient scorer who gets plenty of minutes off the bench and is playing in a contract year. Despite his slow start, he remains a viable No. 2 or 3 guard in any format.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford's back acted up on Monday in practice, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Crawford was limited in practice but is expected to start in the season opener on Wednesday at Memphis.
Analysis: Crawford missed a good chunk of the preseason with the back injury and had been able to play some near the end of preseason action. The fact it acted up again on Monday makes him a risky play in Fantasy considering it could go out on him at any time. When healthy and starting, Crawford is definitely a solid start as a No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford made his preseason debut in Saturday's 84-74 win over the Hornets. Crawford had nine points on 3 of 7 shooting while playing 28 minutes. He also chipped in five dimes, two rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: Crawford has been dealing with a back injury that kept him out of action thus far. He will be hard pressed to find minutes in Atlanta's crowded backcourt, but can still be productive when given ample minutes as he proved last year. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor how the Hawks will set their rotation. If Crawford is seeing minutes, he can be considered a mid-to-late round pick on Draft Day.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford did not play in the team's first preseason game on Thursday as he was dealing with a back injury. The veteran is still looking for a new deal with the Hawks, but Atlanta has a lot of depth at guard.
Analysis: With Joe Johnson and rookie Jordan Crawford, Jamal Crawford's future with the team is uncertain. Despite him wanting to play and contribute in Atlanta, he'll likely have to deal with being part of a deep rotation. Fantasy owners should still target him in the mid-to-late rounds on Draft Day, as he can produce off the bench.
News:Jamal Crawford will be an unrestricted free agent after the season. He had a quick answer when asked what he's looking for. "What do I want? I want to be here," Crawford said at the start of the Hawks' training camp."I love being here. I LOVE being here. I had a ball every time. I felt like I was at a concert performing every time I played here. It was just a lot of fun."
Analysis: Despite that declaration of love for the Hawks, Crawford's future with the team is in doubt. Atlanta re-signed Joe Johnson to a six-year deal worth more than $123 million in the offseason, and they made Jordan Crawford the team's first-round draft pick. Jamal Crawford, Johnson and Jordan Crawford are all shooting guards. Jamal Crawford says he understands the business side of the game, as the depth at the position may make it difficult for the team to re-sign the 10-year veteran. It's usually not a bad thing when players are auditioning for a contract, so Fantasy owners could be reaping the benefits this year. He's worth drafting as a starter with a mid-round pick despite his role off the bench in Atlanta.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford played well in his first season in Atlanta in 2009-10. He won the Sixth Man of the Year award by coming off the bench for the Hawks and averaging 18.0 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds. This was the sixth time in Crawford's career he's averaged at least 17 points a game.
Analysis: Crawford could find himself back in the starting lineup in 2010-11 if Joe Johnson leaves as a free agent or if Crawford starts over Mike Bibby. Crawford typically replaced Bibby this past season, so Crawford is used to playing point guard for heavy minutes. Regardless of if he starts or not, Crawford will see significant playing time. He is a solid Fantasy option, and he's worth drafting as a starter with a mid-round pick next year.
News:Jamal Crawford already got what he wanted most -- a trip to the playoffs. On Tuesday, he picked up an extra reward for his unselfishness. After willingly accepting a backup role for the first time in his career, the Atlanta Hawks guard was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year in a landslide. "You have to check your ego at the door," the 30-year-old Crawford said. "It's all about winning. You do what you've got to do." Crawford won the award going away with 580 of a possible 610 points, including 110 out of 122 first-place votes. Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks, last year's Sixth Man winner, finished second this time with 220 points. Anderson Varejao of the Cleveland Cavaliers (126 points) was third.
Analysis: Crawford averaged 18 points a game in 31.1 minutes, a de facto starter who played a major role in Atlanta winning 53 games and earning the third seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Crawford was even more valuable since he can play both point and shooting guard, giving the Hawks some flexibility in the backcourt. "He embraced it, but more importantly the team has embraced it," general manager Rick Sund said. "You have to give a lot of credit to Bibby. Mike Bibby has been one of Jamal's biggest fans. Marvin (Williams) has been a big fan. They all kind of share who's going to be out there. It doesn't work if the chemistry isn't good, and chemistry becomes good if they really embrace each other with their basketball abilities." Crawford will be no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy guard on Draft Day 2010.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford finished with 17 points in his first ever playoff game on Saturday against the Bucks. Even though Crawford looked a bit nervous after waiting so long to experience the playoffs, he hit three big shots from beyond the 3-point arc. "It felt really good," said Crawford, who was bothered by a toe injury late in the season but wasn't going to let anything stand in the way of this moment. "I was excited, nervous, everything. It felt so good to get it out of the way. It felt so good to make my first shot. I even smiled a little bit. I was like, 'Wow, it's really here.'" Crawford finished 4 of 11 from the field while collecting five boards and two steals.
Analysis: Crawford was probably the most effective sixth man in the NBA this season, averaging 18 points per game for the season. His first season in Atlanta has to be qualified as a success despite the fact that he did not start a single game. He produced the best overall numbers of any sixth man in the league and should be a solid pick as a No. 2 guard again next season.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford (soreness) was held out of the team's regular season finale on Wednesday against Cleveland. He missed the final two games of the regular season.
Analysis: Crawford was rested with the team gearing up for a playoff series against the Bucks. He is expected to be right back in the lineup for Game 1 of that series. His first season in Atlanta has to be qualified as a success despite the fact that he did not start a single game. He averaged 18.0 points and 3.0 assists with 2.5 rebounds, producing the best overall numbers of any sixth man in the league. He'll be a solid pick as a No. 2 guard again next season.
News: Atlanta G Jamal Crawford did not play in Monday's contest against the Bucks. Hawks coach Mike Woodson said before the game that he was considering giving Crawford the night off because of nagging injuries.
Analysis: Crawford had been playing at a high level, averaging 22.5 points and 3.8 assists over his last five games. With the Hawks firmly set in the playoffs, there is a possibility Crawford could sit out or play minimal minutes against the Cavaliers on Wednesday. Fantasy owners should keep tabs on his status because if Crawford does receive regular minutes, he is a must-start Fantasy option.
News: According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Hawks G Joe Johnson (thumb) will not travel with the team for Tuesday's game in Charlotte or Wednesday's game in Detroit. Maurice Evans will start in his place. Im just trying to rest up and do whatever it takes to get it back 100 percent before the playoffs start, Johnson said Monday after practice. Jamal Crawford has seen a boost in scoring in Johnson's absence.
Analysis: According to the report, the thumb that he injured defending Ron Artest in the Lakers game last Wednesday is still bothering him and he aggravated it early against Cleveland on Friday. Johnson and the team decided to let it heal up and hopefully be ready for the playoffs rather than let it linger. Johnson described himself as very frustrated with the injury. This news makes Johnson extremely risky for Fantasy Week 24 (April 5-14). He will play at best two games in leagues that play through Sunday April 11 or four games in leagues that play through Wednesday April 14. Start him at your own peril. Jamal Crawford will likely take on a more active scoring role in his place. Crawford is a very solid play in all formats for the final scoring period with this news.
News: Atlanta G Jamal Crawford scored 29 points to lead the Hawks to a victory over the Pistons on Saturday. Crawford shot 10 of 18 from the field while adding six 3's, six assists and two rebounds in 35 minutes. It was the first time he has scored more than 20 in his last five games.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 17.8 points and 3.8 assists over his last five games. While Joe Johnson will likely be back in the lineup, look for Crawford to see a slight Fantasy boost in case he has to supplement Johnson's scoring if he is still feeling effects from the thumb injury. Even before Johnson's injury, Crawford was a must-start Fantasy option.
News: For the 13th game in a row, Hawks G Jamal Crawford scored in double figures. This time, he added 19 points in a win over the Spurs on Sunday. Crawford shot 7 of 18 from the field while adding five rebounds and five assists in 35 minutes.
Analysis: Crawford continues his campaign for the Sixth Man of the Year Award, averaging 22 points over his last five contests. The assists and rebounds still aren't there, but that's never really been his game. With the Hawks playing four games during Fantasy Week 22 (March 22-28), Crawford continues to be a solid play in all formats.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford has been unconscious of late for the Hawks. On Wednesday at Toronto, he scored 33 points in 37 minutes off the bench. He shot 14 for 25 and hit 3 for 8 from long range.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 24 ppg over his last five and that includes games of 29, 25 and now 33 points, respectively. He's taking it upon himself to do the scoring with Joe Johnson out and is doing a great job of it. He can be active in all Fantasy leagues right now.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford came off the bench to play 29 minutes in a win at New Jersey Tuesday. He scored a game-high 25 points and shot ridiculously well at 11 of 18 from the field. He connected on 2 of 3 from 3-point range and added three rebounds.
Analysis: Crawford has hit 16 3-pointers in his last five games and is averaging 22.2 ppg over that span with 3.6 rebounds. He's playing well at the moment and can be used in just about all Fantasy leagues despite coming off the bench for Atlanta.
News: Atlanta G Jamal Crawford scored 17 points in a win over the Pistons on Saturday. Crawford shot 7 of 8 from the field while going a perfect 3 for 3 from downtown. He also added six assists and a steal in 22 minutes. Crawford has now scored in double figures in nine consecutive games.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 20.1 points during the month of March to go along with 3.3 assists and 3.4 boards. While the scoring remains consistent from Crawford, he still lacks productivity in other categories to make him an elite Fantasy option. He still is a must-start option with the Hawks playing four games during Fantasy Week 21 (March 15-21).
News: G Jamal Crawford scored 29 points and the Atlanta Hawks avoided a three-game losing streak by beating the Washington Wizards 105-99 Thursday night. When Crawford is on the bench, he takes time to analyze the defense. "You get a chance to see what teams are doing on coverage and how you can kind of pick them apart and dissect them," said Crawford, who has led the Hawks in scoring 21 times this season. "Then I can come in and try to help do that." Crawford scored 12 points in the final 3:37 of the third quarter, making six free throws and connecting on two of his four made 3-pointers. He finished 8 of 16 from the field while dishing out three assists in 30 minutes. "I just wanted to mix it up," Crawford said. "I didn't want to settle just for threes after that. I knew they would get up closer so I wanted to get by them and get to the free-throw line and kind of slow the game down a little bit."
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 20.6 points over his last five contests while bringing in 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists. It's nice to see Crawford get his scoring back up after he spent a lot of time the last few weeks scoring in the teens. The points will come from Crawford, but his game isn't always tailored toward rebounding and dishing out assists. He makes for a very solid No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Hawks PG Jamal Crawford scored 20 points against the 76ers on Wednesday, his second consecutive game with at least a score. He shot 7 of 12 from the field in 27 minutes, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range. He padded the stat sheet with four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocked shots.
Analysis: Crawford's average over his last five games (and for the month of February, for that matter) are skewed by his one-point performance on Feb. 24. That was an aberration -- he's failed to score in double figures just three times in 2010. He remains a No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Atlanta PG Jamal Crawford scored 18 points on Friday in a loss to Dallas. He was coming off one of his worst games as a professional on Wednesday against Minnesota in which he managed just one point on 0 for 7 shooting from the field over 29 minutes. The Hawks played him 39 minutes on Friday and he still struggled from the field, going 5 for 16. He went 2 for 9 from 3-point land but added four assists and three rebounds.
Analysis: Crawford is always a tough Fantasy decision. The guy gives you almost nothing but scoring and sometimes his shot is so erratic, he's hard to trust there too. That said, when he does shoot well, few players can consistently fill it up like him. He averages over 17 points per game on the year and that, plus his 3-pointers, keep him viable in most 12-team Fantasy leagues.
News: After scoring his 10,000th career point on Sunday, Hawks G Jamal Crawford scored 17 points for the second straight day in a win over Utah Monday. Crawford shot 5 of 13 from the floor while adding two rebounds, two assists, and three steals in 34 minutes. He has scored in double figures in his last four games.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 14.3 points per game over his last four contests. Unfortunately, he does not contribute much statistical value in other categories, but his ability to consistently score in double figures makes him a solid Fantasy start.
News: Hawks PG Jamal Crawford, playing with a sore left shoulder, scored 12 points on Wednesday against the Clippers and is 28 away from 10,000. Crawford missed the final game before the All-Star break before returning to the lineup Wednesday. He took just eight shots, making three, in 30 minutes off the bench. Crawford also had five rebounds.
Analysis: Crawford said the pain in his shoulder is related to a 2008 injury he suffered with the Knicks, but he said his latest setback. Maybe if he starts chucking up more shots again it will be easier to believe. Crawford is a dynamite sixth man and can drop 20 points a night off the bench. He is usually worth starting in Fantasy when healthy.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Hawks guard Jamal Crawford was back at practice Monday and expects to play Wednesday night against the Clippers. Crawford sat out the last game before the All-Star break with a sore left shoulder. He said the pain was related to an injury he suffered in 2008 with the Knicks but that he's over it now. "Everything is good," he said.
Analysis: It appears safe to keep Crawford active in all leagues. He is averaging 17.8 points for the Hawks and is a strong candidate for Sixth Man of the Year. Consider Crawford a solid Fantasy option in all formats when he's healthy.
News: Atlanta PG Jamal Crawford was forced to miss Wednesday's game against Miami. Crawford woke up on Wednesday morning and had aggravated his left shoulder in his sleep. He is considered day to day and is not likely to miss any time as the Hawks don't play next until next Wednesday in Los Angeles against the Clippers due to the All-Star break.
Analysis: Crawford comes off the bench in Atlanta but still manages to average 17.8 points and almost two threes per game. He is a solid Fantasy start in any league, when healthy. He shouldn't have any issues with returning to action after the All-Star break.
News: Atlanta PG Jamal Crawford has been scratched for Wednesday's game against Miami, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Crawford aggravated his left shoulder in his sleep.
Analysis: Crawford comes off the bench in Atlanta but still manages to average 17.8 points and almost two threes per game. He is a solid Fantasy start in any league, when healthy. He shouldn't have any issues with returning to action after the All-Star break.
News:Jamal Crawford was aware of how difficult Memphis has been this season to beat at home, so he did all he could to keep the Grizzlies at a distance in the final quarter. Crawford scored 28 points, including four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter that helped the Atlanta Hawks pull away from the Memphis Grizzlies for a 108-94 victory Tuesday night. "We knew they were really good here and we'd have our hands full," Crawford said. "We wanted to play strong defense and good offense. And that's what we did and because of it we were able to get easy baskets." Crawford scored 14 points in the final period, and was 5 of 7 from 3-point range in the game. "When you're hitting 3-pointers like we did that can change a game a little bit," Crawford said. "But it wasn't just me. It was all my teammates finding me and coaching running some great plays. I had the easy part, just knocking the shots down."
Analysis: Crawford, averaging 17.6 points per game coming off the bench, continues to be a solid Fantasy option in all leagues. He also added three rebounds and two assists against Memphis. Keep him active in all formats while he's playing at this level.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford scored 17 points in a 91-81 victory over Chicago on Friday. Crawford, who comes off the Atlanta bench, outscored the entire Bulls bench 17-8. In 29 minutes of play, Crawford shot 7 of 16 from the field while adding two rebounds and four assists.
Analysis: Crawford continues to keep rolling as he has averaged 19 points per game over his last five games. However, he is not putting up enough in the assist and rebound category to warrant him as a No. 1 Fantasy guard. He is a very solid play as No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: The Atlanta News Journal Constitution notes that Hawks G Jamal Crawford recorded his fifth four-point play of the season in the third quarter of Wednesday night's game with the Clippers. There was some initial confusion about whether thats an NBA record. The Hawks later confirmed it was Crawfords 24th career four-point play, breaking Reggie Millers record (according to Harvey Pollacks NBA Statistical Yearbook).
Analysis: Crawford's play has gone up to another level in 2010. He's scored in double figures in 15 of his last 16 outings, with nine 20-point games in that span. He is playing like a solid No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: Hawks PG Jamal Crawford remains hot, scoring 22 points against the Clippers on Wednesday. He's scored at least 20 in nine of his last 16 games. In 32 minutes he shot 8 of 16, including 3 of 6 from downtown. He also grabbed two rebounds and dished five assists.
Analysis: Crawford's play has gone up to another level in 2010. He's scored in double figures in 15 of his last 16 outings, with nine 20-point games in that span. He is playing like a solid No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford scored 19 points on 6 of 17 shooting as Atlanta fell 104-86 to Orlando on Friday. Crawford played 27 minutes adding one rebound and two assists.
Analysis: Crawford has remained hot in the month of January and especially over his last five games. He has averaged 22.6 points per game during that span while coming off the bench. Unfortunately for Fantasy owners, Crawford lacks in production when it comes to rebounds and assists. If he can improve upon those he would be a definite No. 2 or even No. 1 guard. For now, Crawford can fluctuate from a No. 2 or No. 3 guard.
News: Atlanta G Jamal Crawford scored 28 points to help defeat Boston 100-91 on Friday. Crawford made three 3-pointers -- including a halfcourt shot to end the first period -- and led the team with six assists. Crawford finished the game shooting 9 of 16 from the field and added three rebounds.
Analysis: Crawford has remained hot in the month of January and especially over his last five games. He has averaged 22.8 points per game during that span while coming off the bench. Unfortunately for Fantasy owners, Crawford lacks in production when it comes to rebounds and assists. If he can improve upon those he would be a definite No. 2 or even No. 1 guard. For now, Crawford can fluctuate from a No. 2 or No. 3 guard.
News: Hawks PG Jamal Crawford scored 25 against the Spurs on Wednesday, his third 20-point game in his last four outings. He shot 10 of 19 from the field, including 3 of 6 from 3-point range. He added three rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Despite coming off the bench Crawford is putting up big numbers this year. He is especially hot of late, averaging 19.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists in his last five games. He's scored 20 points or more in seven of 12. He is a solid No. 3 Fantasy option in all leagues.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford scored 24 points on 8 of 12 shooting and 5 for 8 on three-point field goals in Friday's win over Charlotte. Crawford also dished out five assists and blocked two shots in the win.
Analysis: Atlanta's other bench players combined to score two points on Friday. Crawford is the only real contributor for Atlanta off the bench and that makes him the de facto sixth starter. The five threes were a season high but he's averaging 20 points per game over his last five and has almost three threes per night over that span. With Hawks play a very tough four-game schedule in Week 14 (Jan. 25-31). That could mean they'll need a lot of three-point shooting meaning you should be starting Crawford.
News: Atlanta PG Jamal Crawford didn't have his shooting touch on Monday against the Thunder. Crawford scored 12 points as he went just 4 of 14 from the field. He still managed two threes on five attempts, however. Crawford added six assists and also had a steal.
Analysis: Crawford has been a little inconsistent with his shooting touch over his last five games as he's shot just 27 of 74 (36 percent) over that span. No matter, however, as he still managed two threes per game and averaged 16.4 points. That is right around his season average of 17 points per game and comes with an added 3.8 dimes and 3.2 boards, better than his season numbers. Crawford isn't a starter for the Hawks but he is a deadly scorer. Continue using him in all deeper leagues and the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: Atlanta G Jamal Crawford scored 10 points on 4 of 14 shooting in a 113-81 loss to Orlando Saturday night. Crawford also added four rebounds in the 28 minutes that he played.
Analysis: The Hawks had a terrible game against Orlando and no one on the Hawks scored a lot of points. Crawford still looks to score as he took the most shot attempts with 14 on Saturday. He is still one of the more consistent players off the bench for Atlanta and still has plenty of Fantasy worth in all leagues.
News: After reaching the 9600 point milestone on Monday, Hawks G Jamal Crawford finished where he left off as he scored a game high 29 points and added four rebounds and three assists in a blowout win against the Nets on Wednesday.
Analysis: Crawford continues to prove his Fantasy worth. In his last five games, he has shot 44.1 percent from the field. He should be used in all Fantasy leagues because he consistently offers over 15 points per game off the bench.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford scored 23 points off the bench including 15 in the first half in a blowout loss to the Heat on Monday. Crawford went over the 9,600-point mark for his career and is averaging 25.6 points against the Heat in his last 10 games.
Analysis: Crawford has played an average of 31 minutes in his last seven games. He is proving his worth by averaging 20.7 points in those last seven games. With Crawford making significant scoring contributions, he should be used in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Atlanta PG Jamal Crawford scored 26 points and hit four threes on Tuesday in a loss to Cleveland. Crawford played 34 minutes off the bench and shot 10 of 17 overall from the field. He added four rebounds and two steals.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging just under 17 points per game on the season but is up to almost 22 per night over his last five games. He's hit 15 three pointers in his last five and is really heating up from long range. As long as he continues to play like this and gets over 30 minutes per game, Crawford can be used in just about all Fantasy leagues.
News: Hawks PG Jamal Crawford scored 24 points off the bench in Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets. He now has 50 points in his last two games as the sixth man.
Analysis: Crawford doesn't consistently put up this kind of scoring effort but continues to be a solid bench player for the Hawks and a worthy Fantasy start for his scoring and three-point shooting.
News: Hawks guard Jamal Crawford came off the bench to score a game-high 26 points on Tuesday at Minnesota. Crawford nailed four threes and shot 9 of 17 overall. He added two steals and three rebounds.
Analysis: Crawford doesn't consistently put up this kind of scoring effort but has been averaging right around his season average of 16 points per game over his last five. He continues to be a solid bench player for the Hawks and a worthy Fantasy start for his scoring and three-point shooting.
News: Falcons G Jamal Crawford had 14 points with 7 rebounds in Saturday's game at Chicago. He is averaging 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists over his last five games.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 16.2 points this season, down from the 19.6 points he averaged a year ago with the Warriors and Knicks but that was to be expected in his current backup role in Atlanta. As long as Mike Bibby remains healthy, Crawford remains more of a No. 3 or 4 guard option.
News: Atlanta PG Jamal Crawford hit four threes and shot 10 of 16 from the field overall on Wednesday in a win over the Bulls. Crawford scored a game-high 29 points and dished out four assists.
Analysis: The four threes tied a season high for Crawford, who hadn't scored over 20 points in his previous three games. He is averaging over 16 points per game this season but his scoring has definitely been erratic as he comes off the bench for the Hawks. He's great for cheap points and threes but does little else and is just a No. 4 Fantasy option for the time being.
News: Atlanta PG Jamal Crawford still isn't starting for the Hawks but he played well again on Friday at Philly. Crawford scored 24 points and added four rebounds and five assists. He was 3 of 6 from three-point range.
Analysis: Crawford plays around 30 minutes per night and will usually give you around 15-20 points. He is an excellent source of three-point shooting but has little Fantasy value in the other categories. He remains a solid No. 4 Fantasy option with the Hawks. Atlanta plays three times in Week 6.
News: Atlanta guard Jamal Crawford scored 21 points off the bench on Friday in a win over Houston. Crawford shot 7 of 13 from the field and hit four threes in the game. He added two assists and three steals. He also had a block in the game.
Analysis: Crawford plays around 30 minutes per night and will usually give you around 15-20 points. He is an excellent source of three-point shooting but has little Fantasy value in the other categories. He remains a solid No. 4 Fantasy option with the Hawks.
News: Atlanta PG Jamal Crawford was the team's leading scorer on Saturday against Denver, dropping 25 points on 8 for 15 shooting. It is the third time in his past four games that he has exceeded 20 points coming off the bench. He also led the team in minutes played with 38.
Analysis: Crawford is off to a solid start in Atlanta, averaging 17 points and nearly three assists per game as a bench player. He had a poor first game with the team, but has really turned things around since. He remains a solid No. 4 Fantasy option with the Hawks.
News: Hawks G Mike Bibby had 7 points with 5 assists in Tuesday's game at Portland. He is averaging 9.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds through four games. Jamal Crawford had 27 points, 7 assists and 2 rebounds in 34 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Bibby has alternated double-digit and single-digit performances through his first four games, but the troubling thing for Fantasy owners has to be the way Crawford has looked the last three games after a horrible first game. The Hawks are still looking for a way to rotate Crawford, Johnson and Bibby and it looks like they have found a good mix early. Fantasy owners concerned with Crawford should start to breath a sigh of relief.
News: G Jamal Crawford, who will play a reserve role for the Hawks this season after averaging more than 17 points in five of the last six seasons, scored only three points Wednesday in the season opener against the Pacers. He also had three assists and one steal in 14 minutes.
Analysis: Starting point guard Mike Bibby played 31 minutes, so he looks like the clear favorite over Crawford right now. Crawford is such an accomplished scorer you know he'll have some big games sooner or later, but he probably won't have them with the consistency he did with the Knicks and Warriors. He's a No. 4 guard in Fantasy.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford, playing in only his second game this preseason after missing time with a calf injury, had nine assists in 29 minutes off the bench Monday against the Wizards. He had only four points, though, shooting 2 for 7 from the field and 0 for 2 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Odd performance for Crawford since the Hawks are counting on him for more scoring than assisting off the bench. They already have Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby to distribute the ball. Crawford's production figures to drop a bit this year now that he's in a reserve role, but he'll still do enough scoring and 3-point shooting to make him a No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford missed another preseason game with a calf injury Wednesday at Memphis. He's day to day.
Analysis: Crawford is usually a big-time scorer, but you have to expect him to take a step back this year now that he's a reserve for the Hawks. They don't offer quite as many scoring opportunities as the Knicks or the Warriors did. Don't draft Crawford as more than a No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford remained sidelined by a calf injury Monday in a preseason game against the Cavaliers. He's day to day and should be ready for the regular season.
News: Hawks G Jamal Crawford is sidelined with a calf injury and is considered day to day. The Hawks guard is expected to be ready for the regular season.
Analysis: Crawford is not in any real danger of missing the start of the season and he should be able to return to play in some preseason games. Fantasy owners should expected a step back in Crawford's production this season as he heads into the year as a sixth man option for a Hawks team that isn't quite as offensively dynamic as the Knicks or Warriors.
News:Jamal Crawford insists he's not worried about his playing time as the Hawks opened training camp on Tuesday. It helps that he's comfortable at point guard and shooting guard. "I think there will be plenty of minutes," he said Monday. "I think we'll all play off each other and help each other. We're all veterans who have been in the game for a while now, so we understand what we need to win. We're all pulling for each other."
Analysis: Crawford averaged 19.7 points with the New York Knicks and Golden State last season. The 29-year-old has started each of his 145 games the last two seasons, but with Atlanta he's expected to find minutes behind established starters Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby in the Hawks' backcourt. Crawford replaces Flip Murray in the role of the team's high-scoring backup guard. It's a new role for Crawford, who has 393 career starts and has averaged at least 32 minutes per game for each of the last six seasons. Johnson, who made his third straight All-Star team last season, doesn't like coming out of games. He averaged almost 40 minutes last year, and Bibby played almost 35 minutes per game. So how will coach Mike Woodson find playing time for Crawford, especially as he also adds first-round pick Jeff Teague into the mix at point guard? "He shouldn't have any problem," Woodson said. "He can score. That just adds another dimension to our ballclub."
News: The Atlanta Hawks have reached an agreement to re-sign Mike Bibby to a three-year deal. Bibby's agent, David Falk, said Tuesday he has reached an "oral understanding" that will allow the Hawks to retain the point guard who has led the team to two straight playoff appearances. Bibby was an unrestricted free agent. Wednesday is the first day NBA free agents are allowed to sign contracts. The Hawks drafted another point guard, Jeff Teague of Wake Forest, in the first round last month and traded for guard Jamal Crawford this offseason.
Analysis: This news could mean that the Hawks will continue to start Mike Bibby at the point and will use Crawford as the sixth man and top scoring option off the bench. Crawford could still be extremely valuable in that role, however, the way that Manu Ginobili and Jason Terry have been.
News: The Hawks acquired guard Jamal Crawford from the Golden State Warriors on Thursday for guards Acie Law and Speedy Claxton, hours before the NBA draft. The deal was completed after Crawford signed paperwork indicating he won't opt out of his contract and become a free agent. He is due to make nearly $20 million the next two years.
Analysis: Crawford, who had his differences with Golden State coach Don Nelson, provides the Hawks with depth and flexibility in the backcourt. Starting point guard Mike Bibby and backup combo guard Flip Murray are both unrestricted free agents after helping Atlanta reach the second round of the playoffs for the first time in a decade. Bibby is not expected to return and Crawford will play a prominent role for a young team with high aspirations. Crawford averaged 19.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists between Golden State and New York last season. He will once again be a high-end Fantasy guard in 2009-10.
News: According to media reports, the Golden State Warriors are close to trading Jamal Crawford to the Hawks in exchange for Acie Law and Speedy Claxton. The deal is expected to be finalized as soon as Crawford signs a document stating he will not opt out of the final two years of his contract, which he has the right to do until June 30.
Analysis: It was no secret that the Warriors were looking to deal Crawford after head coach Don Nelson said he had no future plans for the talented shooting guard. For Fantasy purposes we would have love to see Crawford succeed in Golden State's high-octane offense, but he still should get plenty of scoring chances with the Hawks. All that is left to be seen is if Crawford will play the point or the off-guard for Atlanta. The Hawks haven't decided what to do with free-agent point guard Mike Bibby. Crawford averaged 19.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists between Golden State and New York last season. He will once again be a high-end Fantasy guard in 2009-10.
News: Golden State SG Jamal Crawford most likely played his last game with the Warriors. He did not, however, play that game on Wednesday in the season finale. Crawford was held out for the fourth straight game to end the regular season with a back injury. He is a free agent after this season and the Warriors don't want him back.
Analysis: Crawford is not a favorite of coach Don Nelson. Obviously, Crawford's 2009-10 Fantasy value depends on what team he's playing for. Still, he averaged almost 20 points and 4.4 assists per game this season and he remains worth using in most Fantasy formats when healthy and getting regular minutes.
News: Golden State SG Jamal Crawford sat out Monday's game against the Spurs, as expected, and might have played his last game for the Warriors with one remaining on Wednesday against the Suns. Crawford is unlikely to play in that game. He is a free agent after this season and the Warriors don't want him back.
Analysis: Crawford is not a favorite of coach Don Nelson and since the Warriors have little to play for, he's likely to stay seated on the bench through the last game. He's too big a risk to use in Fantasy.
News: Warriors guard Jamal Crawford (back) might have played his last game for Golden State, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. Crawford isn't expected to play Monday against San Antonio and could also miss Wednesday's game at Phoenix. He is a free agent after this season.
Analysis: Crawford could still play at some point this week, but it wouldn't be a surprise if the Warriors sat him just because coach Don Nelson wants to. The safe option is to keep Crawford reserved in all leagues.
News: Golden State SG Jamal Crawford had his back tighten up on him just before Friday's game and was scratched. He could not return on Saturday against the Jazz and remains day to day.
Analysis: While Crawford wants to finish the season in the lineup, coach Don Nelson will likely keep him out. With Crawford likely to miss the rest of the year, he no longer belongs active in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Point guard Jamal Crawford was scratched from Golden State's lineup Friday after his lower back tightened up during warmups. He had played in six straight games for the Wizards after he had sat out the previous six games and is considered doubtful for Saturday's game at Utah, according to the Contra Costa Times.
Analysis: The report by the Times added that Crawford received treatment Friday on the lower back he injured before Wednesday's game against Minnesota, in which he played over 42 minutes and finished with 31 points. He walked gingerly around the Warriors' locker room before Friday's game, when he was supposed to be examined by a team doctor. Although Nelson was pessimistic about Crawford's return for one of the last two games next week either Monday at home against San Antonio or Wednesday's finale at Phoenix Crawford is still holding out hope that he can suit up again this season. Fantasy owners shouldn't hold their collective breath, however.
News: Golden State SG Jamal Crawford was unable to play in Friday's game against the Rockets due to a strained lower back. He had played in six straight games for the Wizards after he had sat out the previous six games. Crawford is considered questionable for Saturday's game at Utah.
Analysis: Crawford had been on a tear in his last five games, averaging 26.2 points and scored more than 30 in two of his previous three games. It is not known if Crawford will return before the end of the season, but if he does he'll be considered a player worth using across the board.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports Warriors guard Jamal Crawford is questionable Friday night against Houston with a strained lower back.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 26.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists in his past five games while playing over 43 minutes per game. Hopefully he can play against the Rockets, but be cautious when setting your lineup in case Crawford doesn't play since the Warriors have nothing to play for at this time.
News: Golden State guard Jamal Crawford had 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists Sunday at Sacramento. Crawford played all 48 minutes with the Warriors dealing with injuries to Stephen Jackson (toe), Corey Maggette (head) and Monta Ellis (ankle). Crawford has scored 59 points in his past two games.
Analysis: The extra playing time has helped Crawford, who has had a difficult season adjusting to Don Nelson's system. But with all the injuries, Nelson has no choice but to play Crawford, who is a must-start Fantasy option heading into this scoring period. Keep him active in all leagues.
News: Since being acquired in an early season trade from New York, Golden State guard Jamal Crawford could count the Warriors' memorable wins on one hand. He'll have to use his other hand now. Crawford scored 39 points and Golden State beat the New Orleans Hornets 111-103 on Friday night. "It's up there at the top," said Crawford, leaning back in his chair with big bags of ice taped to each knee. "To miss three of our top scorers, and I felt awful before the game ... that ranks up there at the top. To play a team like that who is really playing for something and in the thick of the playoff race, it shows where we can be potentially." Even coach Don Nelson, who has feuded with Crawford, lauded his efforts on the night. Crawford added five assists, four rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 28 points in over 40 minutes per night over his last four games. Add in five dimes, four rebounds, two steals and three threes and you have a must-start Fantasy guard once again. Let's just hope Nelson continues to give him playing time.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford had 15 points, seven assists and three rebounds in Wednesday's overtime game against Sacramento. He is averaging 23.7 points, 5.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds in three games since returning from a six-game absence.
Analysis: Crawford's 15 points are a bit disappointing when you figure that the Warriors scored 143 points. However, he has been solid and getting over 40 minutes in the three games since returning from the odd, Don Nelson-inspired absence. It looks safe to get him back into active lineups, but beware of big bad Nellie.
News: Golden State SG Jamal Crawford had missed six straight games because of a feud that developed with coach Don Nelson dealing with Crawford's conditioning. Crawford was back in action on Saturday night at Denver and his conditioning wasn't in question after the game. He scored 30 points on 10-of-21 shooting with five threes. He added five rebounds and five assists.
Analysis: Crawford can certainly light it up when he's given the minutes to do so. Still, his relationship with Nellie isn't very good and there is no telling when another spat could have Crawford playing minimal minutes or riding the pine once again. When he's playing, he's worth using in most Fantasy leagues for his ability to fill up the scoring sheet. You just can't really trust him to give you consistent Fantasy weeks since he's always a risk to sit out.
News: Golden State SG Jamal Crawford did not play on Wednesday against the Mavericks, missing his fifth straight game. He has said he needs to get back into condition before playing and is thought to possibly be able to play on Saturday at Denver.
Analysis: This situation between Crawford and Warriors coach Don Nelson makes Crawford a very tough player to use in Fantasy as there is no guarantee that he'll be in the lineup on any given night. There's no guarantee he'll be back on Saturday. Even if he does return, it doesn't necessarily mean that Nellie won't bench him for the game after that. The situation between Nelson and Crawford keeps getting worse and Fantasy owners are better off just avoiding it all together.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports that Jamal Crawford is unlikely to return until March 28 at Denver. He missed Tuesday's game against the Spurs and will miss Wednesday in Dallas as well most likely. Crawford was benched for two games (March 17 vs. the L.A. Clippers and March 19 at the L.A. Clippers) and then sat out the next two games (March 20 vs. Philadelphia and March 22 at New Orleans) as he said he needs to practice before returning.
Analysis: The report notes that the Warriors only practices in the coming week are Monday and Thursday. So, as it turns out, Crawford won't play until after that second practice, which puts him back in the lineup for Saturday's game. He'll have three practices then, because the Warriors have two off days between Wednesday at Dallas and Saturday at Denver. In any case, this situation continues to be a big headache for Fantasy owners. He could return Saturday. He could return Tuesday for all anybody knows. He may not return at all this season. The situation between Nelson and Crawford keeps getting worse and Fantasy owners are better off just avoiding it all together.
News: Coach Don Nelson will allow Jamal Crawford to play for the Golden State Warriors again. Now it's Crawford who says he's not ready for the next chapter of this wacky relationship. Crawford missed his third straight game Friday after asking for a little practice time before he returns from two straight benchings earlier this week.
Analysis: Nelson sat the healthy veteran guard for games against the Clippers and the Lakers as part of the coach's unorthodox plan to give more playing time to his youngsters -- and perhaps also to nudge Crawford out of town before next season. Nelson wanted Crawford back for Friday night's game against Philadelphia, but Crawford said he didn't think he was ready to jump back into action. Last week, Nelson said he told Crawford it would be a good idea to opt out of the two years left on his contract this summer because Nelson couldn't see Crawford starting for the Warriors next season. He is the most frustrating player to own in Fantasy and although it isn't really his fault, Fantasy owners should treat the productive Fantasy guard as more of a low-end option these days due to his unstable situation.
News: Warriors coach Don Nelson sat Jamal Crawford on Tuesday against the L.A. Clippers and will likely do so again against the Lakers on Thursday. Nelson said second-year guard Marco Belinelli, who has not played in the last three games because of injury and coach's decision, will start in place of Crawford.
Analysis: Don Nelson is officially the most hated man in Fantasy hoops as now it appears that Fantasy owners who have him active in weekly leagues will now get just two games out of him when they thought they were getting four. Nelson had abandoned his quirky, sit-a-veteran-start-a-youngster plan for a few games, but it is now striking at the worst possible time. The only thing to hang on to at this point is that Nelson has said he was going to sit somebody and then had that player play anyway, but that's just us trying to make you feel better at this point. Continue to view Crawford as a solid No. 2 guard option through all this when he plays.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports that Don Nelson addressed reporters Wednesday about the Bay Area News Group report that he told guard Jamal Crawford to opt out of his contract at season's end or be traded. He told reporters that he did in fact tell that to Crawford. "I don't mind a story getting out as long as it's a true story, and that's a true one," Nelson said. "We did meet. ... I've always been very open and honest with my players, and I did tell him he probably would either opt out, or we would move him next year. That's a fact, and I just don't see that that's going to work.
Analysis: The explanation Nelson gave was a valid one. "I'm loaded in the backcourt. If I'm going to move (swingman Stephen) Jackson into the backcourt, now I'm really overloaded. I think he's too good a player to be a 10- or 15-minute player, as a backup player. Wherever Jack plays, there's not many minutes left. Wherever (guard) Monta (Ellis) plays when he's healthy, there won't be very many minutes left. Those positions should be backed up by somebody making less than 8 or 9 or whatever his contract is million dollars a year." Basically, Crawford makes too much money to be a backup player so the team does not have any long term plans for Crawford, but he is still finding ways to contribute currently which is what matters to his Fantasy owners. He is averaging 19.6 points and 4.4 assists to go with 2.6 rebounds over his last five games. He had a 19-5-1 line on Wednesday and that was with Ellis back in the lineup. Continue to view Crawford as a solid No. 2 guard option through all this.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports that Don Nelson declined to comment Monday on a report last week by Bay Area News Group that he had a meeting with guard Jamal Crawford and told him to opt out of his contract or he would be traded. Nelson acknowledged he had a conversation with Crawford but wouldn't elaborate. "That was a private meeting," Nelson said. "There were only two at the meeting. I haven't discussed it with anybody. If I discuss that, I think I want to discuss that at a different time."
Analysis: Crawford has two years for just under $20 million left on his contract but can opt out after this season. The situation does not bode well for a strong finish for Crawford right now with the Warriors. His coach wants him to opt out and is holding him (along with other veterans) out of games from time to time with the hopes of giving younger players playing time. Nelson also told the Contra Costa Times that he envisions his ideal backcourt would have Monta Ellis running the point with Stephen Jackson playing off-guard. That would leave Crawford out of the picture. Crawford, who is averaging 19.8 points over his last five games, is still finding ways to contribute even if it is not at the pace he would under ideal circumstances. View him as a decent, but not great, No. 2 guard right now.
News: One game after being held out by coach Don Nelson as part of his plan to rest his veterans, Warriors guard Jamal Crawford returned Sunday against Utah with 20 points, three assists and two rebounds in 41 minutes.
Analysis: Hopefully for Crawford owners, Nelson won't rest him going forward in any games. It's a situation worth keeping an eye on, but it appears like Crawford will play in all four games for Golden State this week. Keep him active in all leagues at this time.
News: The San Jose Mercury News reports that Don Nelson's plan to hold out veterans in order to give playing time to some of his younger players called for it to be Jamal Crawford who would sit out Friday night. Stephen Jackson is to be held out March 1 against Utah and Andris Biedrins will be held out on March 3 in Minnesota.
Analysis: Crawford's agent told the San Francisco Chronicle that he is unhappy with the way his client is being treated in this situation. Nelson, however, has never been one to care what anyone says about him anyway. Expect the coach to play it cute with this setup while he can, but we figure that it will get old probably in the very near future. Even he can't toy with so many multi-million dollar athletes for too long. Owners of Crawford, Stephen Jackson, Andris Biedrins and Corey Maggette will have to put up with having their player miss a game per week or so while this lasts.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports Warriors guard Jamal Crawford's agent is unhappy that his client will not play Friday as coach Don Nelson wants to bench him to play younger players against the Bobcats. "What is the message that Nelson is sending to a young team? 'Don't play to win?'" agent Aaron Goodwin said. "What is the message he is sending to the fans who work hard to pay for Warriors tickets in order to see them win? Jamal is not injured, and not only is he averaging 19 points per game, but he scored 50 points on the (Bobcats) for a win earlier this season." Crawford has started all 39 games he's played in since being acquired for disgruntled forward Al Harrington, and the Warriors have maintained that they see Crawford and Monta Ellis pairing up for a potent and long-term backcourt.
Analysis: Keep Crawford reserved in daily leagues for Friday's game and hope this is the only game Nelson decides to keep him out. And you never know with Nelson, he could still decide to play Crawford against the Bobcats because he never has a set pattern with anything he does.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports that Warriors coach Don Nelson said Wednesday that he will start to sit some veterans occasionally for games as a way to get more playing time for his younger players. First up is guard Jamal Crawford for Friday's home game against the Charlotte Bobcats. The decision to sit Crawford figures to benefit Marco Belinelli and Anthony Morrow. It wasn't clear as to whether Crawford will be listed as inactive or sit because of a coach's decision, or who will start in his place. He hasn't had "Did Not Play Coach's Decision" beside his name in a box score since his 2000-01 rookie year with Chicago. "Coach Nelson has been around for 30 years and won 1,300 games," said Crawford. "I'm not going to ever question what he's doing. He wants to play young guys, and I understand. They've worked hard all year."
Analysis: Since you never know what will happen with Nelson, the safe bet is to keep Crawford reserved in daily leagues. Then again, Crawford could end up playing if something happens to Belinelli or Morrow during the game. This is definitely a situation worth monitoring, and hopefully Nelson doesn't end up ruining the rest of the season for Crawford or the rest of his players.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford had 15 points with three assists and two rebounds in Monday's game at the Clippers. He is averaging 19.0 points over his last five games.
Analysis: With Monta Ellis sidelined for Monday and the next few games, one would have expected Crawford to return to his elite scoring ways. However, his shot was off (4-for-15 from the field). Fantasy owners should not expect that to last long. Continue to view him as a strong No. 2 guard option in any format.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford scored 24 points with four rebounds and two assists in Saturday's game against Oklahoma City. Crawford is averaging 18.2 points over his last five games with three 20-plus games in his last four contests.
Analysis: Crawford continues to adapt to playing with Monta Ellis. He will be a work in progress for the rest of this season, but he's still capable of scoring 20-plus points, especially in this offense. Continue to start Crawford as a No. 3 Fantasy guard in all leagues.
News: Golden State guard Jamal Crawford had 21 points, seven assists and five rebounds Tuesday against the Knicks, his former team. Crawford is averaging only 16.0 points in his past five games, which is down for his season average of 19.2 points, but he is averaging 6.0 assists over that span, which is better than his season average of 4.7.
Analysis: Crawford continues to adapt to playing with Monta Ellis. He will be a work in progress for the rest of this season, but he's still capable of scoring 20-plus points, especially in this offense. Continue to start Crawford as a No. 3 Fantasy guard in all leagues.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Jamal Crawford's 27-point effort Wednesday against Phoenix came as a result of another adjustment the guard made after dealing with an injury and the return of prominent scorer Monta Ellis. "I don't know if it was his lack of aggressiveness or his knee was bothering him, but I asked him to be more aggressive," Warriors coach Don Nelson said after practice Thursday. "I don't want him to be the only distributor. I want him to do what he does, which is he's a great scorer, a great shooter. And he needs to do that when he's open."
Analysis: The report added that Crawford, who had 27 points, six assists and five rebounds in the blowout of the Suns, called it "another re-adjustment" following his midseason arrival and the Warriors' piecemeal return to health. The combo guard, concerned about stepping on his teammates' toes, had been mostly deferring to Ellis and others after missing two games in late January with a right knee contusion. That seems to be behind him now and hopefully it leads to more games like Wednesday's. We've seen he has that type of potential for output on a regular basis.
News: Warriors guard Jamal Crawford had 27 points, six assists and five rebounds Wednesday against the Suns. This was Crawford's best game in his past five outings and his highest point total since missing two games with a knee injury.
Analysis: Crawford is capable of playing at a high level, and hopefully these types of games will continue. Keep him active in all leagues.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford had just four points in Monday's overtime game against San Antonio. He shot just 2-for-10 from the field in 47 minutes. It was his second game in his last four with under five points.
Analysis: Crawford has not looked very explosive since returning from his knee injury, failing to crack 15 points in three of four games and scoring no more than 17 points in any of the contests. He appears to be playing at less than 100 percent, but his production should start to get back to normal at some point. Fantasy owners should leave him active as long as he is healthy for the most part.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford was in the starting lineup Wednesday against Dallas after missing two games due to a bruised right knee. Crawford played 23 minutes and was just 1-of-6 from the field with a three for three points. He added four rebounds and turned the ball over four times.
Analysis: This definitely wasn't Crawford's best night but the good news is it's over and he got through it unscathed. It wasn't too long ago that he poured in 28 points and dished out eight assists against Washington before having to miss two games so hopefully he returns to that high level shortly. When 100 percent healthy, Crawford remains a quality Fantasy option.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports that Warriors guard Jamal Crawford (bruised right knee) practiced mostly at full speed Tuesday, but coach Don Nelson said he'll have to wait until Wednesday to see if Crawford is available to play at Dallas. If Crawford does start, he will play shooting guard with Monta Ellis running the point.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Crawford's status, but it sounds like he will return against the Mavericks. When healthy, Crawford is a solid Fantasy option, and he should be fine in playing with Ellis for the first time this season.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports Sunday that Warriors guard Jamal Crawford, who has missed two games with a right knee injury, is hopeful to return Wednesday at Dallas when Golden State begins a three-game road trip. An MRI of Crawford's knee over the weekend showed no structural damage.
Analysis: It sounds like Crawford will return this week, but continue to monitor his status. Be cautious when setting your lineup, but it sounds like Crawford should be back in action. He will have to adjust to playing with Monta Ellis, who returned from his ankle injury over the weekend, but Crawford remains a quality Fantasy option when healthy.
News: Golden State SG Jamal Crawford Warriors was scratched for Sunday's game due to a bruised right hamstring he sustained against Oklahoma City Wednesday. Crawford remains questionable for Monday's game against Portland.
Analysis: Crawford was back at practice on Thursday and should be nearing a return pretty soon. He is an injury risk for the upcoming scoring period and he should be started at your own risk. The Warriors do play three games with the first coming on Monday, but owners should look for healthy alternatives if possible.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford was a late scratch for Friday's game due to a bruised right hamstring he sustained against Oklahoma City Wednesday. The Contra Costa Times reports that Crawford said it did not begin to bother him until Thursday. "I couldn't even straighten out my leg," said Crawford, who averaged 27.4 points and 47.6 minutes in his previous five games.
Analysis: Crawford did practice Thursday and received treatment after practice and before the game Friday. He tried to warm up pregame before ruling himself out. He is day-to-day. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as an elite No. 1 guard when healthy.
News: Warriors guard Jamal Crawford led the team with 28 points and eight assists Monday against the Wizards, shooting 4-for-9 from 3-point range and 12-for-25 overall. He also had three rebounds and one block.
Analysis: Crawford has played especially well in January, averaging 28 points over his last seven games. He's an elite scorer and must-start in Fantasy regardless, but if this inspired play continues, his Fantasy owners won't complain.
News:Jamal Crawford scored 32 points and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 11.3 seconds left in a pell-mell fourth quarter, and the Golden State Warriors snapped their five-game losing streak with a thrilling 120-117 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night. Crawford shot 10-of-19 from the floor with four threes and added five boards and five assists.
Analysis: Crawford is playing quite well lately with 23-3-5 over his last five contests. He hits about two threes per game and can really rack up the points in a hurry playing for the high-scoring Warriors. Keep him active in all leagues.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford, who had scored no more than 11 points over his previous three games, scored 28 on 10-of-20 shooting, including 2-of-6 from 3-point range, Monday at Utah. He also had six assists, three rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: Crawford remains an excellent scorer, and since he plays point guard for the Warriors, you can count on him for plenty of assists as well. Keep him active in all leagues despite the recent cold spell.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford (groin) was able to play Sunday against the Lakers in Los Angeles. He had missed his previous two games. Crawford scored 22 points with five assists, two rebounds and a steal in 27 minutes.
Analysis: Crawford's return Sunday takes the guess work out of starting him in the upcoming scoring period. Fantasy owners should consider him a must-start in any format while healthy for his excellent contributions in scoring and assists.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford missed his second straight game Friday against Boston due to a groin injury. He remains day to day.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Crawford for Sunday's game in Los Angeles, but it appears like he could miss some time. The Warriors will likely rest Crawford, but see what develops heading into the next scoring period before setting your lineup. Start preparing alternatives. Fellow teammate Marco Belinelli is likely available off the waiver wire and could make a decent stopgap.
News: Golden State guard Jamal Crawford missed the Warriors' game in Miami on Tuesday night with a strained left groin, adding to the team's significant injury woes. Golden State has already been without Monta Ellis (ankle), Corey Maggette (hamstring) and Stephen Jackson (left hand). Crawford strained the hamstring Monday in Orlando, but played nonetheless in the Warriors' loss to the Magic. He was still experiencing pain on Tuesday, prompting the decision to sit out. He has averaged 19.3 points in 15 games since being traded to the Warriors from the New York Knicks and does extremely well against the Heat.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Crawford, but it appears like he could miss some time. The Warriors will likely rest Crawford, but see what develops heading into the next scoring period before setting your lineup.
News:Jamal Crawford scored 50 points to help the undermanned Golden State beat the Charlotte Bobcats 110-103 on Saturday night, giving Warriors coach Don Nelson a win in his first game with a new coaching strategy. A night after Nelson announced he would no longer have anything to do with the Warriors' NBA-worst defense, assistant Keith Smart handled that part of the game, while Crawford handled the offense -- and then some. In his best game since being acquired from New York last month, Crawford was 14-of-26 from the field, 5-of-8 from 3-point range and made 17-of-18 free throws. He was two points shy of his career high.
Analysis: Crawford also had five assists in the game. He's averaging over 25 points per game over his last five contests and is dropping two threes per night. He remains a quality No. 2 Fantasy guard and is worth starting in all leagues at this time.
News: Golden State SG Jamal Crawford had his best game in over a week of action on Wednesday against the Pacers. Crawford nailed four threes -- he took 11 of them -- and scored 29 points on 11-of-26 shooting. He added nine rebounds and four assists.
Analysis: Crawford is known for his free shooting and he's put up 77 shots over his last five games. He's averaging 15.6 points and three boards over that span so obviously Wednesday was his best night in a while. He was slumping a bit and hopefully this is the start of the turnaround. He remains a quality No. 2 Fantasy guard and is worth starting in all leagues at this time.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford was held to just four points in Wednesday's game against Milwaukee. It was his lowest output since joining the Warriors.
Analysis: Crawford was one of just three players who played for the Warriors on Wednesday and scored less than 11 points. Do not expect that to happen often. He is going to take around 15-20 shots on most nights while Monta Ellis remains out and also contributes around five assists per game. He is a 20-point scorer who can help in assists and three-point shooting.
News:Andris Biedrins helped the Golden State Warriors forget they were a struggling, short-handed squad. Playing without two of their top scorers, Biedrins had 17 points and 21 rebounds as the Warriors ended a nine-game skid with a 112-102 victory over the lowly Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night. Stephen Jackson (20.1 points per game) and Corey Maggette (19.1) sat out with injuries but it didn't slow the Warriors. Jamal Crawford scored 19 points, and Brandan Wright and Anthony Morrow each had 15 as Golden State shot 50.6 percent from the field.
Analysis: Crawford also added six assists and two steals with a rebound. He remains a quality No. 2 Fantasy guard and is worth starting in all leagues at this time.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford, playing his fifth game since coming over from the Knicks in a trade, scored a season-high 40 points in a game that went to overtime against the Heat on Monday. He also had seven assists. He shot 11-for-22 from the field, including 4-for-8 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Crawford nearly doubled his previous high with the Warriors and seems to have found his comfort zone in the offense. He'll continue to get more assists than he did with the Knicks as Golden State's starting point guard and will remain an excellent source of points and 3-pointers as well. He's at least a No. 2 Fantasy guard and maybe even a No. 1 in some formats.
News: Warriors G Jamal Crawford scored 21 points with 10 rebounds and five assists in Saturday's game against his former team, the Knicks. It was his best performance in four games with the Warriors.
Analysis: Crawford got off to a bit of a slow start, but has three quality games in a row now and appears to be back in full service. Keep him active in any league. Now that he is back to playing point guard again, his assist totals should increase.
News: G Jamal Crawford, traded by the Knicks on Friday, had a quiet evening in his first game with the Warriors at Washington on Tuesday. Despite only one practice with his new team, he started at point guard and had nine points and seven assists in 29 minutes. He shot 4-for-10 from the floor, including 1-for-5 from 3-point range. "I definitely see where I can fit in," Crawford said. "Out here you can't really play passive, you have to be aggressive, and when you're aggressive, it opens it up for your teammates. I definitely need to be more aggressive moving forward."
Analysis: We kind of figured Crawford would start at point guard, and that transition only stands to improve his assists, as he showed Tuesday. In time, he should also begin averaging 20 points per game with the Warriors like he did with the Knicks, so continue to use him as a No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: Warriors SG Jamal Crawford, who was acquired from the New York Knicks on Friday for F Al Harrington, was not with the team in Philadelphia for their loss to the 76ers on Sunday. Crawford is scheduled to take his physical Monday and then join the Warriors for Tuesday's game at Washington.
Analysis: Crawford could be used as a point guard or as a shooting guard for the Warriors and that gives the team the option of keeping Monta Ellis at shooting guard once he returns. Either way, Crawford's value remains high as he's leaving one high-scoring team for another. He'll be asked to carry a big scoring role especially as long as Ellis remains sidelined and looks like a safe start for Fantasy Week 5 (Nov. 24-30).
News: The New York Daily News reports that the Knicks officially acquired Warriors forward Al Harrington Friday for Jamal Crawford. Crawford may be available for the team's game Sunday at Philadelphia.
Analysis: Crawford could be used as a point guard or as a shooting guard for the Warriors and that gives the team the option of keeping Monta Ellis at shooting guard once he returns. Either way, Crawford's value remains high as he's leaving one high-scoring team for another. He'll be asked to carry a big scoring role especially as long as Ellis remains sidelined.
News: Various sources are reporting that Al Harrington has been traded to the Knicks in exchange for Jamal Crawford and Malik Rose. New York Newsday is reporting that it may be a three-team deal that also includes the Clippers. Such a deal would also include Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins going to the Clippers and Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley going to New York.
Analysis: There is definitely some deal going down today, but Fantasy owners should stay tuned to find out who is officially involved. As for Crawford, such a deal would mean he'd be the starting shooting guard for another high-scoring team in Golden State. It means his value likely will not change much, but he will have to deal with playing alongside Monta Ellis as well as Stephen Jackson at some point. As much as the Warriors run, there is enough scoring to go around.
News: Knicks SG Jamal Crawford, coming off a seven-game stretch in which he averaged 24.1 points, had only three points on 1-of-4 shooting in 25 minutes Tuesday at Boston. He also had three assists.
Analysis: Crawford remains the Knicks primary scorer, even if he throws up a figurative brick every now and then. He scored only one point the game before that seven-game stretch began, so don't worry about this one bad game. As an excellent source of points, assists and 3-pointers, Crawford remains a must-start Fantasy guard.
News: Knicks G Jamal Crawford scored under 25 points for the first time in four games Sunday against Dallas. It was his first time under 20 points in five games. Crawford scored 16 points with five assists and five rebounds.
Analysis: Crawford did take 19 shots in the game and could easily have scored at least 29 points again. Fantasy owners should expect him to be around 20 points on any particular night, making him worthy of use as a No. 2 guard in most formats.
News: Knicks SG Jamal Crawford scored 25 points and added eight assists in a win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Crawford hit two threes as New York made a record 19.
Analysis: Crawford is averaging 27 points per game over his last four contests and has been contributing with assists as well. He's taking flight in Mike D'Antoni's system and has become a viable No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: Knicks SG Jamal Crawford bounced back from an awful game Sunday in which he scored just one point in 32 minutes to score 16 against the Bobcats on Wednesday night. Crawford hit four threes and added five assists in the win.
Analysis: Throw out his one-point performance on Sunday and Crawford is averaging just under 20 points in his other three games. He's seeing the benefit of Mike D'Antoni's up-tempo system but not to the extent we had expected. Crawford remains a No. 2 Fantasy guard for the time being.
News: The Knicks scored 120 points in their opening season victory over Miami on Wednesday as new coach Mike D'Antoni's high-powered offense looked in high gear. Knicks SG Jamal Crawford led the way with 29 points on 9-of-19 shooting and connected on four threes. He added four assists and four rebounds but turned the ball over four times.
Analysis: Crawford remains a No. 2 Fantasy guard but Wednesday's game showed what D'Antoni's system can do for players. A couple more games like this one and Crawford's value will go through the roof.
News: The Knicks will play three games in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 2). They play at home against Miami, at Philadelphia and against Milwaukee. Miami allowed 100.0 points per game last season. Philadelphia allowed 96.2 ppg and Milwauke gave up 103.9 ppg.
Analysis: The Knicks will begin the season against an undersized Heat team that will be starting either Mark Blount or Udonis Haslem at center. That should bode well for Zach Randolph and David Lee in the low post. Chris Duhon will likely be matched up against Chris Quinn in the opener before moving on to face some stiffer competition against Andre Miller and Mo Williams. Jamal Crawford will go up against Dwyane Wade, Andre Iguodala and Sasha Pavlovic. He struggled through most of the preseason, but finished by scoring 30 points against the Nets Friday and looks ready to go. Quentin Richardson will go against Shawn Marion, Thaddeus Young and Richard Jefferson, making this a tough week for him. Consider reserving him for now to see if he can prove productive under Mike D'Antoni's system again. The same goes for Stephon Marbury, who will play off the bench.
News: Knicks G Jamal Crawford shot just 1-for-6 from the field in Monday's preseason game against the Nets. He finished with four points, three assists and two steals in 25 minutes on the floor and seems to be having a tough time adjusting to new coach Mike D'Antoni's system.
Analysis: Crawford had a great season last year for the Knicks, one of the only Knicks players to enjoy a truly solid year statistical season. But that was in an offense where he was able to create his own shots. In D'Antoni's system, the ball is passed around to open spots and shots are created for players. Crawford could be in to a slow start this season as he makes the adjustment, but he still remains a talented scorer and should be thought of as a No. 2 or 3 Fantasy guard depending on the size of your league.
News: Knicks G Jamal Crawford averaged career-highs in points (20.6), assists (5.0) and minutes (39.9) during the 2007-08 regular season.
Analysis: Crawford was the most consistent Knicks player for Fantasy purposes this season. That could change next season as the team will have a new coach in place and with Stephon Marbury possibly finding it in him to play a full season. Much of Crawford's success came with Marbury out for the majority of the year.
News: Knicks guard Jamal Crawford had 16 points, three assists and one rebound Tuesday at Detroit.
Analysis: Crawford has been one of the lone bright spots for the Knicks this year. Continue to start Crawford as a No. 3 Fantasy guard in all scoring formats at this time.
News:Jamal Crawford led the Knicks with 39 points -- 19 coming in the third quarter -- Sunday against the Hawks, but he was just 2-for-5 from the field in the fourth before his meaningless layup ended the scoring. Crawford was 14-for-25 from the field while picking up eight assists. Crawford has scored 20-plus points in five of the last six games.
Analysis: With his 39-point outing, Crawford has now averaged 20-plus points for the last four months. He is pretty much the best offensive weapon the Knicks have and that is good news in Fantasy circles. The Knicks run Crawford ragged, but he puts up serious points and remains a must-start Fantasy option.
News: Once again, the Knicks started Jamal Crawford at point guard Friday against the Heat with Nate Robinson injured. He scored 24 points with five assists and four rebounds. He also added four steals and a block.
Analysis: Crawford led the team in both points and assists and continues to be the team's only consistent Fantasy option. The Knicks may be a mess, but Crawford is worth using in all Fantasy formats.

"I don't think it's ever mental with him, because he always thinks he's making the next one," Thomas said. "He doesn't lack confidence at all. He heats up fast. There's no rhyme or reason to it. He'll miss five or six straight shots, and then he'll make seven or eight in a row. It's not that he's changed anything mechanically; he's just one of those guys that can all of the sudden be hot. Really, I don't know why. I just know that's how it is."
Analysis: Crawford was coming off a career night; he had 52 points against Miami of Friday, but he started off 1-for-7 from the field on Sunday. Crawford did heat up in the fourth quarter and finished with 26 points. He's a must-start in all Fantasy leagues right now.

News: Knicks coach Isiah Thomas plans to use at least nine players in the rotation, but he isn't sure where everybody fits in yet. Analysis: It's a deep team when everybody's healthy. When that might actually happen is anybody's guess. The second unit, led by Crawford, Richardson, Lee and Robinson can move up and down the court at light-speed. Consider them low-end options to start the season, but all are worthy of fliers in leagues of 12-plus teams.
