News: Pistons guard Kim English managed to get himself to the free throw line six times on Monday during a loss to Atlanta. English, who played 23 minutes off the bench, went 6 for 6 from the line and 2 for 5 overall to score in double figures with 10 points over 23 minutes. He added a rebound, two assists and a steal.
Analysis: English, a rookie out of Missouri, has seen sporadic playing time this season for the Pistons. Averaging under 3.0 points per game over 9.3 minutes, English is not yet a viable Fantasy option.
News: Pistons guard Kim English was actually able to get on the court during Friday's contest against the Heat. English, who has appeared in just 14 games this season, logged four minutes in the waning moments of the 110-88 defeat. He made one of his two field-goal attempts and finished with two points in the loss.
Analysis: English continues to spend most of his time as a spectator on Detroit's bench as the Pistons simply don't have any minutes for the rookie right now. However, coach Lawrence Frank and others remain very high on the 24-year-old and think he could be part of the Pistons' long-term plans. Still, at this point in the year, English should only be owned in deeper long-term keeper formats.
News: The Pistons agreed to terms on a deal with second-round pick Kim English Thursday that will guarantee him a spot on the teams roster for the upcoming season. The Pistons selected English with the 44th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of the University of Missouri.
Analysis: Most teams prefer to wait until training camp to make a decision on their later round picks, who generally have un-guaranteed contracts heading into their rookie seasons. The Pistons, however, have been impressed by English's performance in Summer League games, so much so that they will bring him on board right away. English averaged 14.5 points as a senior for the Tigers, however he is likely no more than depth for the Pistons, and is unworthy of targeting on Draft Day.
