Thunder center Kendrick Perkins, forward Perry Jones and forward Lance Thomas were discussed as part of the deal headed to Brooklyn, but the Thunder chose not to make a trade because they liked how the trio has played as of late.

Thomas was dealt to the Knicks on Monday in a three-team trade involving New York, Oklahoma City and Cleveland.

NetsDaily.com confirmed through a league source the two sides had discussions, but the talks didn't advance to any formal offers.

Kevin Durant's return changes things for OKC

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/2/2014) With Kevin Durant expected to make his return to action at some point this week, possibly even Tuesday, the Thunder are finally going to be at full strength for the first time this season. Fantasy owners have found some bargains on the Thunder's roster as they have looked for answer, but Durant's return should be the only answer they need.

At various points this season, Perry Jones, Jeremy Lamb and Anthony Morrow have been the waiver-wire pickup du jour, and each has had stretches of utility. However, with Durant nearing a return and Russell Westbrook already back, there's little room left on the perimeter for those guys to score.

Lamb and Morrow will still play important roles as spot-up shooters around the Thunder's stars, but Jones only had value before his injury when he seemed like the natural Durant replacement. At this point, Jones can be freely dropped in all formats, and Morrow and Lamb likely only deserve a roster spot in deeper, category-based formats.

Perry Jones now a must-add Fantasy option

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/31/2014) Over at the Fantasy Basketball Today blog, I took a look at the Thunder's Fantasy outlook in the wake of yet another crushing injury. Russell Westbrook will join Kevin Durant on the sidelines for up to a month, leaving a massive hole in the team's rotation, one Perry Jones filled more than capably Thursday night, and here is what I had to say about him at the blog:

"Jones looked fantastic against the Clippers and clearly deserves to be seen as a must-add Fantasy option, but he still needs to prove himself before we consider him a must-start player."

Jones made a slew of tough shots Thursday and looked very impressive, but he also made just 1 of his 9 field goal attempts in the season opener. He has the talent and might have the opportunity, but Fantasy owners probably still need to see more before penciling him into the starting lineup on a daily or weekly basis.

He 10 of 17 from the floor, including 3 of 6 from the floor and 9 of 11 from the free throw line. Jones added seven rebounds, three assists and one block while logging 42 minutes of game action. He has combined for 35 points and 10 rebounds through his first two games.
