Doron Lamb

Lamb could see a bigger role next year

News: With unrestricted free agent Beno Udrih not expected to be back next year, Magic guard Doron Lamb could be thrust into a larger role. Lamb spent 23 games with the Bucks last season before being traded to Orlando as part of the deal that sent J.J. Redick packing. He averaged 3.2 points and 1.2 assists on 39.7 percent shooting from the field in his 24 games with the Magic.
Analysis: Lamb has had some trouble adjusting to the NBA, but that is not unusual for younger players. While the 21-year-old will likely have a chance to compete for minutes as the team's backup shooting guard, there are some in Orlando who are hoping Lamb can develop into a point guard and possible replacement for Jameer Nelson down the road. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his development over the summer. However, he likely will only have value in deeper long-term keeper formats once again next year.

Lamb still a minimal contributor

News: Magic guard Doron Lamb was finally able to get on the score sheet for his new team during Wednesday's contest against the Kings. Lamb, who had been shutout in his first two games with Orlando, finished with five points on 1 of 4 shooting from the field in the 125-101 defeat. He also added one rebound to his stat line.
Analysis: Lamb continues to play a minimal role with the Magic as the rookie has just 28 minutes over his first three games with the team. While the 21-year-old is super talented and has a ton of upside, he has been unable to really see consistent minutes this season. Unless he is able to crack coach Jacque Vaughn's rotation, Lamb's value may be limited to deeper long-term keeper formats for the rest of the year.

Lamb can't find his shot in debut

News: Orlando guard Doron Lamb could not buy a bucket in his debut Saturday night against the Cavaliers. Lamb missed all three of his shot attempts and grabbed just one rebound while logging 10 minutes of game action off the bench in a 118-94 defeat.
Analysis: Lamb did not appear to be in sync with his new team Saturday night. We expect him to get on the same page with his teammates as the season progresses. The 21-year-old has some upside as a sharpshooter after his impressive career at the University of Kentucky, but he rarely played with the Bucks. He is averaging 3.4 points on 34.7 percent shooting from the field this season. At this point, Lamb has just minimal Fantasy value and should not be used in the majority of formats unless his role changes with the Magic.

Lamb out Friday, available Saturday

News: Magic head coach Jack Vaughn announced that Beno Udrih, Doron Lamb and Tobias Harris will miss Friday's contest at Memphis. Instead, they will all debut Saturday at home against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: It seems as if Lamb will be available to make his debut at home against the Cavs. The 21-year-old has some upside as a sharpshooter after his impressive career at the University of Kentucky, but he rarely played with the Bucks. Lamb should continue to have minimal Fantasy value even after this move. He is not worth using in the majority of leagues unless his role is increased dramatically with the Magic.

Lamb headed to Orlando

News: CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger reports that the Magic have traded J.J. Redick, Gustavo Ayon and Ish Smith to the Bucks for Beno Udrih, Doron Lamb and Tobias Harris. Lamb was averaging just 3.4 points on 34.7 percent shooting for the Bucks before the trade, while appearing in just 23 games.
Analysis: Doron Lamb has some upside as a sharpshooter after his impressive career at the University of Kentucky, but he rarely played with the Bucks. Lamb should continue to have minimal Fantasy value even after this move. He is not worth using in the majority of leagues unless his role is increased dramatically with the Magic.

Lamb held out again

News: Bucks rookie guard Doron Lamb was listed as inactive Saturday night against the Warriors as he continues to deal with a lingering ankle injury. Lamb, who was promoted from the NBA Development League earlier this week, remains day to day with a mild ankle sprain.
Analysis: Lamb has appeared in just 23 games for Milwaukee this season and is averaging a paltry 3.4 points per contest. The Kentucky product is also a marginal contributor in other areas, including rebounding, and should not be considered a worthwhile Fantasy option at this point.

Lamb dealing with mild ankle sprain

News: Milwaukee rookie guard Doron Lamb was ruled out of Tuesday's contest against the 76ers due to a mild ankle sprain. Lamb was recalled Monday from the D-League and has only averaged 12.2 minutes per game in 23 appearances off the bench.
Analysis: Lamb's injury is not considered to be serious so he should be back in action at some point during Week 13 (Jan. 21-27), so we'll keep an eye on his progress moving forward. He is averaging just 3.4 points per game on 34.7 percent shooting, leaving him as a marginal Fantasy option, even when healthy.

Lamb earns a promotion

News: The Bucks recalled guard Doron Lamb from the NBA Development League on Monday, less than two weeks after sending him to the lower level. Lamb has racked up just four total minutes this month and has not appeared in a game since Jan. 5 at Indiana.
Analysis: Lamb has been pressed for playing time during his first season out of Kentucky and has exceeded 20 minutes only three times in his 23 total appearances with Milwaukee. He is averaging just 3.4 points per game on 34.7 percent shooting, leaving him as a marginal Fantasy option for now.

Lamb sent to D-League

News: Milwaukee rookie guard Doron Lamb has been assigned to Fort Wayne of the D-League Saturday, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Lamb practiced with the Bucks on Saturday before being reassigned.

Bucks guarantee a little Lamb

News: The Bucks signed second round draft pick Doron Lamb to a three-year deal Wednesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The financial terms of the deal were not announces, however it seems to guarantee the 42nd overall pick a spot on the Bucks’ roster next season.
Analysis: Lamb looks like one of the few second-rounders that might be able to make an impact next season, as most do not even get a chance to earn a contract. Lamb has already done that, and will fight for a rotation spot. He brings at least one elite skill to the table, as his 47.5 percent mark from three-point range is the best in NCAA history for a career. He has a chance to make a difference in Fantasy leagues with his shooting, but he would be an incredibly risky selection in most yearly Fantasy formats on Draft Day.
