(10/22/2013) The Mavericks waived four players Tuesday, as they begin to trim their training camp roster down in preparation for the start of the regular season.

The four players waived are: forwards Renaldo Balkman, Devin Ebanks, guard D.J. Kennedy and center Fab Melo. Melo has now been let go twice this offseason.

(9/12/2013) The Mavericks signed center Fab Melo to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with an invitation to training camp Tuesday. Melo was recently waived by the Grizzlies shortly after being acquired in a trade from the Celtics.

Even if Melo makes the Grizzlies, he would likely be the third center behind Marc Gasol and Kosta Koufos.

Grizzlies part ways with Fab Melo quickly

(9/7/2013) Just two weeks after acquiring him via trade, the Grizzlies waived center Fab Melo at the end of August. Melo was acquired via trade from the Celtics in mid-August, in exchange for Donte Green.

Melo appeared in just six games for the Celtics as a rookie, and there does not yet appear to be much interest in the former No. 22 overall pick in the draft.

(8/20/2013) The Grizzlies and Celtics agreed to a deal Thursday to swap Fab Melo, Boston's 2012 first-round pick, for Donte Greene. The Celtics also sent cash considerations to the Grizzlies, though details were not made known.
