Report: Nuggets agree to trade Ty Lawson to Rockets

(7/19/2015) The Nuggets have come to agreement on a trade that would send point guard Ty Lawson to the Rockets, according to a report by Yahoo, citing league sources. 

Lawson averaged 15.2 points and 9.6 assists last season. He was arrested for DUI in the offseason. 

The Rockets will send Kostas Papanikolaou, Pablo Prigioni, Nick Johnson and Joey Dorsey to Denver, as well as a protected 2016 first-round pick to Denver. Denver is including a 2017 second-round pick

(6/24/2015) The Rockets have picked up their option on small foward Kostas Papanikolaou, according to ESPN, which is further reporting that the $5 million he is due is not guaranteed.

Papanikolaou played extensively last season until sidelined by an ankle injury. He averaged 4.2 points in 18 minutes per game, but shot just 35 percent from the field on the year.

(4/5/2015) Rockets small forward Kostas Papanikolaou (ankle) was able to practice Saturday but has yet to return to full-contact work, the Houston Chronicle reports.

"He was out here, but the ankle isn’t ready for 5-on-5 yet," coach Kevin McHale said Saturday.

Papanikolaou thinks he's close to returning from the sprained ankle suffered on Feb. 23.

"I am pretty close," he said. "I am feeling pretty good. Great job by the training staff, great communication, great work. I hope by the end of next week, I will be back and I can’t wait."

Papanikolaou has averaged 4.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 41 games.

Jones has a rib and lung injury and doesn't have a timetable to return. Beverley tore ligaments in his wrist and could miss the season. Papanikolaou has an ankle injury that's kept him sidelined for the past 16 games.

"It's a first degree, sprained MCL," Papanikolaou said. "Things could be even worse. I'm happy that it's that way. It looks like it'll be a couple of weeks, like 10-14 days to get back. We have a great staff in the back doing a great job and they will do their best in order for me to come back as soon as possible."

Papanikolaou played 26 minutes off the bench before the injury, scoring 10 points on 5 of 6 shooting and tallying four rebounds, one assist and one block. The Rockets square off with the Suns Saturday, but the small forward is set to be evaluated further in Houston that day before it can be determined how soon he can return, the Houston Chronicle reports.
