Thomas Robinson suffers leg injury, stays quiet

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(2/26/2014) Trail Blazers forward Thomas Robinson played just 14 minutes off the bench Tuesday, and was barely seen in the second half without a trainer nearby. He did not want to discuss the injury after the game, but The Oregonian reports he had his left knee heavily wrapped after the game. The team announced shortly after the game he was diagnosed with a left patella tendon strain, and is a gametime decision for Wednesday against the Nets

Robinson finished the game with just two points on 1 of 5 shooting, with five rebounds. He is averaging just 7.0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game over the last four, but an injury to him would leave the Blazers even more shorthanded in the frontcourt.

Trail Blazers hope Robinson can provide depth

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(7/18/2013) The No. 5 picks in the 2012 NBA draft joined his third team in the offseason, as the Rockets shipped Thomas Robinson to Portland to free up cap space prior to free agency. Robinson, who appeared in 51 games for the Kings and 19 for the Rockets as a rookie, told USA Today he hopes he can find a home in Portland. "I'm excited to be here," he said. "They've welcomed me and made me feel comfortable." With Lamarcus Aldridge around, the Blazers expected Robinson to come off the bench as the backup power forward, but he could play alongside Aldridge as well. "His primary position is power forward, but I could envision playing him with LaMarcus or Robin or Meyers (Leonard)," head coach Terry Stotts said. "We have a lot of players who can play a couple of positions, so I think we'll see him play alongside different people."
