Raptors SF Terrence Ross scores season-high 22 vs. Knicks

(12/14/2014) Raptors small forward Terrence Ross led his team in scoring Sunday, racking up a season-high 22 points on 8 of 14 shooting, including 3 of 5 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 95-90 overtime win over the Knicks.

Ross scored 20 points in back-to-back games as the calendar turned to December but topped that total in the overtime win Sunday. He also picked up five rebounds, two steals and one assist in 33 minutes. The Raptors will square off with the Magic Monday.

(10/6/2014) Raptors guard Terrence Ross suffered a bruised right knee during Sunday's exhibition opener, according to the Toronto Star. He underwent an MRI on his injured knee and was not present at practice on Monday, per the paper. The team has yet to reveal the extent of the injury.

Ross averaged 10.9 points on 42.3 percent shooting, including 39.5 percent from downtown in 81 appearances last season.

(3/23/2014) Raptors guard Terrence Ross, who suffered a hip injury his last time out, made his return to the starting lineup Sunday, scoring 10 points on 4 of 14 from the floor, including 2 of 8 from downtown, and 0 of 1 from the free throw line in a 96-86 win over the Hawks.

Ross also chipped in with five rebounds and two steals while logging 30 minutes of game action. He is averaging 10.2 points and 2.8 rebounds over his last five games.

(3/21/2014) Raptors guard Terrence Ross left Friday's double overtime loss to the Thunder with 7:50 remaining because of a hip injury. He was unavailable for the remainder of the game, according to the National Post.

Ross scored just two points on 1 of 9 from the floor. He also chipped in with three rebounds and two steals while logging 22 minutes of game action. His status remains uncertain for Sunday against Atlanta.

(3/19/2014) Raptors guard Terrence Ross continues to provide pedestrian production, as he needed overtime to reach double digits in scoring Tuesday against the Hawks.

Ross played 40 minutes in the 118-113 loss Tuesday, and scored 11 points on 4 of 9 shooting. He made three 3-pointers and added three rebounds, one assist and two blocks, though he also turned the ball over three times in the loss.

Ross has stepped up in a bigger role for the Raptors in his second season, upping his scoring to 10.9 points per game while increasing his shooting percentages across the board from his rookie season.

Ross scored 18 points on 6 of 12 from the floor, including 6 of 8 from downtown. He also chipped in with two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal while logging 26 minutes of game action in a 99-87 win. He is averaging 16.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists over his last five games.

Ross suffered an ankle injury last week which kept him out for one game on Sunday against the Warriors. He is expected to be in the starting lineup on Friday. He is averaging 10.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game this season.

(3/2/2014) Raptors forward Terrence Ross will sit out Sunday night against Golden State, the team announced.

Ross sustained the injury Thursday against the Wizards and was limited to riding a stationary bike in Saturday's practice. The Raptors won't play again until Friday against Sacramento, which gives Ross plenty of time to rest his ankle. He is averaging 10.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game this season.

(2/27/2014) Raptors forward Terrence Ross got off to a fast start, scoring 11 points in 16 minutes, but had to leave early Thursday night against the Wizards because of a sprained left ankle.

Ross was ruled out for the remainder of the game with the injury. He shot 3 of 5 -- all from downtown -- and 2 of 2 from the free throw line, also adding two rebounds and one assist before the injury.

The Raptors will return to the floor Sunday against Golden State.

(2/21/2014) Raptors forward Terrence Ross scored a team-high 20 points on 9 of 18 shooting in his team's 98-91 win over the Cavaliers Friday.

It was Ross' best performance since dropping 51 points on the Clippers in late January. He also recorded three steals and one rebounds in 37 minutes of action Friday. Ross has averaged 10.3 points and 3.1 rebounds over 55 games played.


John Wall leads the way in East dunk contest victory

(2/16/2014) Wizards guard John Wall isn't the biggest guy in the league, but his leaping abilities are well known. One of three point guards in Saturday's dunk contest, Wall rose above the competition and earned the Dunker of the Night award for his part in the contest.

Wall helped the Eastern conference teams win the initial freestyle round along with Paul George and Terrence Ross, and then took down Ben McLemore in the head-to-head round with a reverse double-pump dunk over the Wizards' mascot to earn the fan's vote.

Wall will make his first appearance in an All-Star game Sunday, as he is in the midst of the best season of his career. He is averaging 19.8 points, 8.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game in his 52 appearances. 


Terrence Ross drills 10 treys, matches franchise mark with 51 points

(1/25/2014) Raptors guard Terrence Ross entered Saturday with 26 points as his career-high. He nearly doubled that mark, as missed his second free throw in the final seconds to break Vince Carter's Toronto record. Ross knocked down 10 treys and matched Carter's franchise record with 51 points in a 126-118 loss to the Clippers at home.

Seven of Ross's 10 treys came in the first half, including five in the first quarter. He went 16 of 29 shooting from the field, including 10 of 17 from downtown, and 9 of 10 from the free throw line. He also chipped in with nine rebounds, one assist and one steal while logging a season-high 44 minutes of game action.

Ross fell three treys shy of the NBA record and one board shy of his first career double-double. He has averaged 15.0 points and 3.6 rebounds over his last five games played.

Valanciunas averaged 8.9 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 55.7 percent from the field over 62 games played last season. Ross scored 6.4 points and grabbed 2.0 boards per game while shooting 40.7 percent from the field over 73 games played last season.

(10/21/2013) Raptors guard/forward Terrence Ross had the hot stroke Monday in preseason action against New York. Coming off the bench for 25 minutes, Ross scored 27 points.

He went 7 of 15 from the field and connected on six 3-pointers as he had the hot hand in the 123-120 win. He took 13 3-point attempts.

Ross grabbed two boards and chipped in an assist for Toronto. The 22-year-old needs to prove he can shoot this way consistently as he's been a low-percetage shooter to this point.

Ross will come off the bench yet again this season, and remains buried behind a pair of highly-paid starters on the wing. He is averaging 9.4 points on 41.9 percent shooting in 20.8 minutes per game in the preseason.
