Pau Gasol will not travel

by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com
(3/26/2014) A bout with vertigo sidelined Lakers' center Pau Gasol Tuesday, and Wednesday the team website reported that Gasol would not travel to Minnesota or Milwaukee.

The illness is at least severe enough to keep him in L.A. for the next two games, meaning more playing time for Jordan Hill, Robert Sacre and Chris Kaman

Robert Sacre barely a factor

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(2/25/2014) Lakers center Robert Sacre appeared in his first game in nearly a week Tuesday against the Pacers, as the Lakers tried to match up with the Pacers' size in a blowout loss.

Sacre played six minutes off the bench and barely made an impact. He finished with three points on 1 of 2 shooting with three rebounds and a block in the 118-98 loss.

Sacre has seen a much larger role this season, after appearing in just 32 games as a rookie. He is averaging 4.5 points per game in 40 appearances.

Robert Sacre's foul out triggers rare technical rule

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(2/5/2014) Lakers center Robert Sacre had an interesting night Wednesday in a 119-108 win over the Cavaliers, as he continues to see a larger role thanks to injuries.

Sacre scored in double figures for the second game in a row with 10 on 5 of 8 shooting, but that wasn't what made for such a peculiar performance. Sacre technically fouled out of the game with a few minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Lakers were out of healthy players, so he was able to stay in the game, triggering a rarely enforced rule that would have resulted in a technical foul for every foul he drew.

Sacre has been pressed into a larger role this season than during his rookie year, as he has already appeared in more games (34) than a year ago. He is averaging 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

Robert Sacre playing better with playing time

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(1/8/2014) Lakers center Robert Sacre continues to see solid minutes as a starter, as he played 28 Tuesday in a 110-97 loss to the Mavericks.

Sacre fell a few points short of a double-double, scoring seven points on 3 of 9 shooting with 10 rebounds. He shot just 3 of 9 from the field and added one steal.

Sacre has played at least 27 minutes in each of the last three games, and has reached double figures in either rebounding or scoring in each game. He is averaging just 4.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game for the season.

Chris Kaman, Robert Sacre likely out of rotation

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/26/2013) Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni told the Los Angeles Times he plans to play rookie forward Ryan Kelly more consistently moving forward Thursday. Kelly's ascension to a bigger role is likely to come at the expense of Chris Kaman and Robert Sacre, according to the report.

"That's the fallout. There's a ripple when guys come in," D'Antoni said.  "It's not the production of certain guys, it's how you want the team to play. Some guys get the short end of the stick.  I hate it but this team has to play the way that they function best."

Kaman did not appear in the team's most recent game Wednesday, after playing in the previous three games.  He has sat out 13 of the first 29 games for the Lakers. Sacre was also out of the rotation Wednesday, and has played in one fewer games than Kaman.

Robert Sacre receives rare start

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/7/2013) Lakers center Robert Sacre started his first game of the season Friday, in a 106-100 win over the Kings. Sacre played 17 minutes and scored in double figures in the second straight game, finishing with 11 points on 5 of 7 shooting. He added five rebounds one assists and two blocks

Sacre has appeared in seven games this season, averaging 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

Robert Sacre scores season-high 12 points vs. Blazers

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(12/2/2013) Lakers center Robert Sacre scored a season-high 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting while playing a season-high 22 minutes in his team's 114-108 loss to the Blazers Sunday.

Sacre's season highs had been four points and 13 minutes, but he was leaned upon more than usual with Chris Kaman out and Jordan Hill and Pau Gasol limited by ankle issues. Sacre also added six rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in the well-rounded effort.

Lakers intend to keep Sacre around

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(6/27/2013) The Lakers extended a qualifying offer to center Robert Sacre Wednesday, an indication that the team hopes to retain the serviced of the backup big man. Sacre appeared in 32 games for the Lakers as a second-round pick this season.
