Hawks forward Mike Scott out of walking boot for toe injury

(3/27/2015) Hawks forward Mike Scott is no longer in a walking boot for a toe injury and was seen taking shots in shootaround Friday, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Scott has been in the boot since injuring the toe March 11 and had an original timetable of 2-to-4 weeks to recover.

"He did a tiny bit on the court," coach Mike Budenholzer said. "He stretched and warmed up. I think they let him job gingerly. But I think it’s good that he is out of the boot and he is moving a little bit."

(3/20/2015) Hawks forward Mike Scott has been diagnosed with an acute toe sprain and will miss two to four weeks, according to FOX Sports South. 

The fear was that Scott broke his toe and would therefore miss more time. This puts Scott at a timetable to return in early to mid April. Scott is averaging 7.5 points per game this season.

(3/16/2015) The Hawks will be without Kyle Korver, Thabo Sefolosha and Mike Scott for Monday's game against the Kings, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Korver (12.4 ppg) has a nose injury, Sefolosha (5.1 ppg) has a calf injury and Scott (7.5 ppg) has a toe injury. 

Korver broke his nose during Sunday's 91-86 win over the Lakers. 

Scott is expected to miss up from four-to-six weeks after being diagnosed with a broken toe last week. Sefolosha's calf strain is still on track to return to game action in the middle of March.

Scott initally suffered the injury Wednesday and was diagnosed Friday with the fracture. He has averaged 7.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 15.8 minutes per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field.

(3/14/2015) The Hawks have confirmed that power forward Mike Scott did suffer a broken toe, which could keep him out until the postseason, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Saturday.

Scott suffered the injury on Wednesday and was initially diagnosed with a toe strain. He will fly back to Atlanta to visit a doctor on Monday. In 62 games, Scott averaged 7.5 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting a career low 44.8 percent from the floor this season.

Scott, who suffered the injury in Wednesday's game, may miss more than Friday's game, according to the report. Scott is averaging 7.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in 62 games this season.

It will be the second consecutive game Antic has missed because of an ankle injury. In 47 games, he is averaging 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds. Forward Mike Scott will likely see his minutes increase with Antic out.

The Hawks are 11-point favorites.

It was just Scott's third game in double figures scoring in his last 10 games and first in his last four games. He was also a perfect 4 of 4 from the free throw line and grabbed two rebounds in the contest.

(2/22/2014) Hawks forward Mike Scott put together another strong performance Saturday, taking advantage of the Knicks' poor defense for a career-high in scoring in a 107-98 win.

Scott played 30 minutes off the bench and took advantage of each one, as well as the Knicks' perimeter defenders. He scored a career-high 30 points on 11 of 14 shooting, with six 3-pointers and eight rebounds in the win.

Scott is putting together a very strong season for the Hawks, averaging 9.7 points per game on 49.2 percent shooting, including a 37.2 percent mark from three-point range.

Scott scores 15 points off the bench, and he did so efficiently in his 24 minutes of action. He shot 4 of 8 from the field, 2 of 5 from three-point range and 5 of 5 at the free-throw line, his fourth game hitting at least half of his attempts. He added five rebounds and two assists, while turning the ball over twice in an 89-85 loss.

Scott is averaging 14.2 points per game during his double-digit scoring streak, along with 1.7 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.

 Scott scored 14 points on 4 of 10 shooting, adding two 3-pointers and a 4-for-4 mark at the free-throw line in 27 minutes. He also tossed in four rebounds and two turnovers in the game.

Scott went 6 for 10 from the field and 1 for 1 from the line. He grabbed six rebounds and added an assist for Atlanta in the loss.

The 25-year-old Scott could see a larger role this season after playing in 40 games as a rookie and averaging 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds over 9.4 minutes.
