Hawks PF Mike Scott arrested for marijuana, ecstasy

(7/30/2015) Hawks forward Mike Scott was arrested and charged Thursday with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule 1 drug, MDMA or ecstasy, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Scott was arrested along with his brother in Banks County, Ga. The men fled during a traffic stop and speeds of up to 98 mph were reached before stopping two miles down the road. Scott and his brother admitted to having drugs in the car and were booked in the county jail, per MyFox Atlanta.com. 

The Hawks are aware of the situation but have no comment at the time. 


DeMarre Carroll injury may not get Hawks' Mike Scott more time

(5/21/2015) With Hawks small forward DeMarre Carroll questionable for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals with a sprained left knee, it's natural to assume that forward Mike Scott could be in line for more minutes. 

Not so fast, said coach Mike Budenholzer. Carroll's injury status has very little effect on Scott's, Budeholzer said, because he considers Scott a power forward, per Bleacher Report.

Scott has not played in the last five games, but he told NBA.com that he was "healthy and ready to go." When asked about his lack of time on the court, Scott said, "You'll have to ask Bud about that."

Budenholzer previously stated that he expected Scott to be able to play in this game. Scott has averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 68 regular-season games. He missed the regular-season finale with a back injury. 

The Hawks are 10-point favorites in the game.

"We expect him to be available," Budenholzer said.

(3/27/2015) Hawks forward Mike Scott is no longer in a walking boot for a toe injury and was seen taking shots in shootaround Friday, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Scott has been in the boot since injuring the toe March 11 and had an original timetable of 2-to-4 weeks to recover.

"He did a tiny bit on the court," coach Mike Budenholzer said. "He stretched and warmed up. I think they let him job gingerly. But I think it’s good that he is out of the boot and he is moving a little bit."

(3/20/2015) Hawks forward Mike Scott has been diagnosed with an acute toe sprain and will miss two to four weeks, according to FOX Sports South. 

The fear was that Scott broke his toe and would therefore miss more time. This puts Scott at a timetable to return in early to mid April. Scott is averaging 7.5 points per game this season.

(3/16/2015) The Hawks will be without Kyle Korver, Thabo Sefolosha and Mike Scott for Monday's game against the Kings, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Korver (12.4 ppg) has a nose injury, Sefolosha (5.1 ppg) has a calf injury and Scott (7.5 ppg) has a toe injury. 

Korver broke his nose during Sunday's 91-86 win over the Lakers. 

Scott is expected to miss up from four-to-six weeks after being diagnosed with a broken toe last week. Sefolosha's calf strain is still on track to return to game action in the middle of March.
