Bulls waive Tornike Shengelia

(4/14/2014) The Bulls have waived forward Tornike Shengelia on Monday, the team announced. He averaged less than a point and rebound per game in 1.9 over nine games for the Bulls after being traded from Brooklyn. 

Tornike Shengelia out Monday with flu-like symptoms

(3/17/2014) Bulls forward Tornike Shengelia was ruled out for Monday's contest against the Thunder due to flu-like symptoms, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Shengelia is an afterthought in Chicago's rotation, only appearing in six games and averaging 2.5 minutes per contest since being traded from Brooklyn. He should be cleared from any flu-like symptoms in the near future.

Nets makes minor moves with Bulls, Pelicans

(1/18/2014) The Nets made a pair of moves at the bottom of the roster Saturday, sending guard Tyshawn Taylor to New Orleans and forward Tornike Shengelia to Chicago, Yahoo.com reports. The Nets received guard Marquis Teague from the Bulls in exchange for Taylor, while receiving a future draft pick from the Pelicans.

Teague has appeared in just 19 games for the Bulls this season, averaging 2.4 points on 24.2 percent shooting, with 1.5 assists per game. Shengelia has appeared in 17 games for the Nets, averaging 1. Points per game, while Taylor averaging 3.9 points and 1.6 assists in 23 games. 


Tornike Shengelia recalled from D-League

(1/11/2014) Just a day after being shipped to Springfield, Nets forward Tornike Shengelia was recalled from the D-League on Saturday, the team announced. In 15 games this season, Shengelia is averaging 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in 8.4 minutes per game for Brooklyn.

(11/10/2013) Nets forward Tornike Shengelia was sent back to the D-League by the team Sunday, the New York Post reports.

Shengelia was brought up for Saturday's game with Andrei Kirilenko dealing with back issues but did not play. The Nets don't play again until Wednesday, so it's difficult to ascertain whether Kirilenko will be available based solely on this move.

(10/4/2013) Nets forward Tornike Shengelia has missed the first three days of training camp as he continues to work his way back from knee surgery, according to the New York Post. Shengelia underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee in late July. His status remains uncertain for the start of preseason.

(6/28/2013) The Nets and Celtics agreed to an intra-division blockbuster Thursday during the NBA Draft, with the Celtics sending Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to Brooklyn for Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Reggie Evans, Tornike Shengelia and Keith Bogans. The Celtics will also net three first-round picks in the deal, CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger confirms. The deal cannot be finalized until July 10, when Keith Bogans can be sign-and-traded to Boston to complete the deal.
