Taylor steps up for Nets

News: With Deron Williams (ankles) inactive, Nets guard Tyshawn Taylor saw a much larger role on Monday night against the Pacers. He played 34 minutes off the bench ans scored a career-high 12 points in the 89-84 win. He went 5 for 9 from the field and made 2 of 4 free throws. Taylor also posted two assists and two rebounds in the victory.
Analysis: Taylor saw the most extensive playing time of his young career Monday and was able to come through with a decent performance. Williams is expected to miss at least one more game so the rookie should see some more run in Week 16 (Feb. 11-17). Taylor had a productive college career at Kansas but is more of a long-term Fantasy option at this point, unless Williams missed an extended period of time.

Brooklyn brings back Taylor

News: The Nets recalled guard Tyshawn Taylor from the NBA Development League on Monday after being assigned to the farm club less than a week ago. Taylor had not appeared in Brooklyn's previous five games prior to the demotion last Tuesday.
Analysis: Taylor received an average of 6.5 minutes per game during the month of December, but that number plummeted to 3.6 minutes in January. As a result, his scoring dropped and he netted just seven total points in seven games. Leave him on waivers in all Fantasy formats.

Taylor dropped to D-League

News: After spending exactly one month with the Nets, guard Tyshawn Taylor forward Tornike Shengelia were demoted to the NBA Development League on Tuesday. The two were recalled from Springfield on Dec. 22, but were unable to carve out much playing time.
Analysis: Though he wasn't an integral member off the bench during his rookie season, Taylor had seemingly dropped out out of the Nets' rotation completely and logged just two minutes over the past five games. He netted just two points in that span and will develop his offense more at the lower level. He should be left untouched in all Fantasy formats for now.

Taylor recalled by Nets

News: Brooklyn has recalled forward Tornike Shengelia and guard Tyshawn Taylor from the D-League on Saturday.
Analysis: Taylor was just sent down on Friday and is apparently back already. We doubt the Nets have found minutes for him this time around. He has almost zero Fantasy value at this point.

Taylor lands in D-League

News: The Nets sent guard Tyshawn Taylor to the NBA Development league the team announced Friday. Taylor averaged just 1.3 points in 10 games this season.
Analysis: The Nets don't have any minutes for Taylor at this point and he will at least get to play everyday in the minors. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore the 22-year-old in all formats at this point.

Taylor not ready to contribute

News: Nets guard Tyshawn Taylor was once again not much of a factor in Brooklyn's 107-68 win over the Magic Friday night. Taylor finished with just five points in the victory on 2 of 4 shooting from the field. He also added two steals to his stat line, while logging nine minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Taylor hasn't seen the floor a ton over the first four games of the season, but that was to be expected. The 22-year-old remains more of a long-term project for the Nets this season and will likely spend most nights on the bench. Only owners in deeper long-term keeper formats should keep Taylor on the roster at this point in the year.

News: Nets rookie guard Tyshawn Taylor appeared in his third preseason game Wednesday against the Knicks. Taylor, a second-round pick out of Kansas, scored 10 points on 5 of 8 shooting in 14 minutes of action, as he continues to try to make a case for minutes in the guard rotation. Taylor added two assists in the game, as Brooklyn fell, 97-95 in overtime.
Analysis: Taylor is a rare second-round pick on a guaranteed contract, so he is not fighting for a spot on the team. Rather, he is trying to prove that he can earn minutes at both guard spots. He finished the preseason averaging 8.0 points and 3.0 assists per game. It will be interesting to see how the Nets find minutes for Taylor, a rare young piece on a star-laden roster. Taylor was a four-year contributor on one of the elite collegiate teams, so he is used to playing the game at a high level. Taylor might struggle to find consistent minutes, so don’t plan on targeting him outside of the deepest dynasty/keeper Fantasy leagues on Draft Day.

Tyshawn Taylor

Nets ink second-rounder

News: The Nets came to terms Friday with the rookie guard Tyshawn Taylor, who was their first selection in the 2012 draft when they took him No. 41 overall. Terms of the deal are not yet known.
Analysis: Taylor was selected as a senior out of Kansas, who finished his college career by averaging 16.6 points and 4.8 assists per game for the national runner ups. He will likely spend time backing up both guard spots, which will make finding playing time difficult, as the Nets have high-priced starts at both positions. Taylor has some upside as a polished guard with athleticism, however he will likely not get enough chances to produce next season to be worthy of targeting in most Fantasy leagues on Draft Day.
