(3/14/2014) The Kings recalled forward Royce White late Thursday, at the end of his assignment with the Reno Bighorns of the D-League. White averaged 8.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 24.8 minutes per game in four appearances for Reno.

White was signed to a 10-day contract March 6, so Saturday is the final day of his contract. According to News10.com, White will travel straight to Sacramento rather than joining the team on it's current road trip, which ends Sunday in Minnesota. White is not guaranteed to be with the Kings beyond Saturday, though it seems likely after the team's official twitter account announced Thursday he will wear No. 35 with the team.

According to the report, the Kings expect to sign White to a 10-day contract Thursday, followed immediately by an assignment to the team's D-League affiliate in Reno. White will play four games for the Big Horns, during which time the Kings will evaluate him to determine whether he will be worth a second 10-day deal.

White has yet to play in the NBA since being taken 16th overall in the 2012 draft, amid a series of high profile disputes with the Rockets over treatment of his anxiety disorger.

(2/25/2014) Though he has been unable to find work so far this season, former first-round pick Royce White has never given up on his plans of playing in the NBA. According to the Houston Chronicle, he may be coming back to the league soon, after working out for the Kings Tuesday. The Kings anticipate having a roster spot opening up in the next few days.

White never played after being drafted by the Rockets last season due to a highly publicized battle over the proper treatment of his anxiety disorder. He was traded to the 76ers in the offseason, who waived him just before the season.

Royce White refutes fear of flying

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(10/1/2013) 76ers forward Royce White refuted the story that his fear of flying is the reason he sat out his entire rookie season for the Rockets, the Delaware County Times reports. White said his anxiety due to flying was blown out of proportion and was a "glaring" misconception.

"The plan was and always will be to fly when I have to and drive when I can," White said.

With Philadelphia rebuilding, White has a chance to make an impact for the team and to make good after a tumultuous rookie year.

"I don’t like to look at it as a second chance or a last chance," White said. "I like to look at it as my first chance."
