Bradley Beal and Paul Pierce will play for Wizards on Saturday

(5:23 pm ET) The Wizards will have SG Bradley Beal and SF Paul Pierce for Saturday's game against the Pistons. 

Beal has missed the last eight games with a leg injury. Pierce has missed the last two with a knee problem. 

Beal will be on a minutes restriction in Saturday's game. The Wizards are four-point favorites at home.

(2/27/2015) Wizards forawards Kris Humphries and Paul Pierce will miss Friday's game against the 76ers, coach Randy Wittman said before the game.

Humphries was considered questionable for the contest after suffering a groin injury in Wednesday's game. He is averaging 8.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Pierce will miss his second consecutive game with a knee injury. He is averaging 12.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

The Wizards are currently 8-point favorites Friday.

(2/25/2015) After warming up with the intention of playing, Wizards forward Paul Pierce has been ruled out of Wednesday's game at Minnesota, reports The Washington Post.

Pierce is dealing with a knee bruise after he banged knees with another player during Tuesday's game, and it appears the injury is still bothering Pierce. Forward Otto Porter will start in Pierce's place.

The Wizards are 2-point underdogs.

Pierce banged knees with another player during Tuesday's game, but it appears the injury will not hinder his availability. In 54 games, Pierce is averaging 12.6 points and 4.2 rebounds.

(2/24/2015) Wizards small forward Paul Pierce had to be helped off the court after banging knees with another player in the final seconds of his team's loss to the Warriors Tuesday, but he expects to be fine for Wednesday's game in Minneapolis Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.

"Just icing it," Pierce said after the game. "I think it'll be all right."

Pierce scored a team-high 25 points on 7 of 11 shooting in Tuesday's loss, his highest scoring total since Dec. 8 against the Celtics.

(2/24/2015) Paul Pierce scored 18 of his team-high 25 points in the second half, but it wasn't enough, as the Wizards dropped a 114-107 contest to the Warriors on Tuesday. 

After reaching the half with just seven points, on 2-of-4 shooting, Pierce caught fire in the third quarter. He hit 4-of-5 in the quarter, along with all five of his free throws, putting up 14. 

Pierce finished 9-of-9 from the line and 7-of-11 from the field, adding five rebounds. 

The Wizards play next Wednesday at Minnesota. 


Paul Pierce on Nets' Kevin Garnett: He's not going to 'demand a trade'

(2/10/2015) Wizards forward Paul Pierce, longtime teammate (seven years) of Nets center Kevin Garnett, said he does not think the 38-year-old will ask for a trade.

"He's not going to cry foul and demand a trade. He's a guy that's going to go in, no matter the situation, and give 110. That's just the type of person he is," Pierce told the Washington Post.

Garnett said as much earlier in February. When asked if he would consider a buyout if one was offered by Brooklyn, Garnett said he's "all-in here" with the Nets. Garnett is in the final season of his contract worth approximately $12 million. He is averaging 6.9 points and 6.9 boards through 41 games this season.


Paul Pierce's 19 not enough for Wizards against Hornets

(2/5/2015) Paul Pierce scored a team-high 19 for the Wizards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Hornets, who rallied for a 94-87 home win, Thursday. 

Pierce shot 7-for-13 from the field and recorded his fourth 19-point outing in the last eight games. He scored the Wizards' first six points and had 10 by the end of the first quarter. 

The Wizards play next against the Nets on Saturday.

(1/31/2015) Wizards coach Randy Wittman said small forward Paul Pierce and center Nene are available for Saturday's game against the Raptors, the Washington Post reports.

Pierce missed Tuesday's game with a toe injury before returning Wednesday, but he was absent from Friday's practice, leaving his availability against the Raptors in doubt. Nene was unable to play Wednesday due to a sore right foot.

The Wizards are 5-point home favorites against the Raptors Saturday.

Wall wasn't 100 percent certain he would play in Saturday's game because of a lingering ankle injury as well as persistent migraines. He is visiting a doctor about the migraines later on Friday. Wall said he should have sat out Wednesday's game as well.

Pierce is dealing with a toe injury that caused him to miss Tuesday's game, even though he did play Wednesday.

Wall has been dealing with multiple injuries, but an ankle sprain suffered Tuesday had him questionable for Wednesday's matchup. He has averaged 17.3 points and 10.2 assists in 46 games. Forward Paul Pierce (toe) will also play as expected, the Arizona Republic reports.

(1/22/2015) Although the Cavaliers are interested in signing Ray Allen, the Wizards have been the most aggressive team in pursuing the veteran guard, according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders. The Wizards want to reunite Allen and Paul Pierce, and believe that his veteran leadership could help them down the stretch.

Allen has been spending time with family in Miami while keeping himself in shape for a possible return. The 39-year-old averaged 9.6 points per contest while shooting 44.2 percent from the field, including 37.5 percent from behind the arc last season with the Miami Heat.

While Nene, however, participated fully in practice. He has missed the Wizards last five games after leaving the team's Nov. 22 game against the Bucks with a foot injury. 

The Wizards will host the Nuggets Friday.
