Cavaliers, Jazz agree to four-player trade

(7/22/2014) The Jazz have agreed to trade John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy to the Cavaliers in exchange for Carrick Felix, $1 million and a future second-round pick, Yahoo! Sports reports.

The trade gives the Cavaliers three non-guaranteed contracts, which could help with the logistics of a potential Kevin Love acquisition. Felix signed a four-year deal last offseason and is still due more than $1.75 million over the next two seasons.


Carrick Felix scores 10 in return from knee injury

(4/17/2014) Cavaliers guard Carrick Felix closed out his rookie season with a fine performance against the Nets Wednesday, in his first appearance in 38 games after overcoming a knee injury.

Felix played 12 minutes off the bench, scoring 10 points on 4 of 6 shooting, with a pair of 3-pointers made. He added two rebounds and three assists, while turning the ball over just once in the 114-85 win.

Felix was limited to just seven games as a rookie, as a result of a fractured knee. The No. 33 overall pick averaged just 2.7 points per game, but could see an increased role in his second season.

(4/16/2014) The Cavaliers will have two surprise faces available for Wednesday's season finale against the Nets, as forwards Anthony Bennett (knee) and Carrick Felix (knee) are both active following long absences.

Bennett, the team's No. 1 overall pick, has not played since early March, while Felix, a second-round pick, hasn't been seen in uniform since early January.

(1/28/2014) Cavaliers forward Carrick Felix has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left patella after undergoing an MRI Tuesday, the team announced. Felix suffered the injury playing for the team's D-League affiliate Saturday, and will be sidelined six to eight weeks while recovering.

Felix hasn't made an appearance since being brought up from the D-League last week. He has scored nine points in 26 minutes of action over six appearances this season.

(11/23/2013) Cavaliers guard Carrick Felix made his season debut as he logged two minutes of game action in Friday's loss to the Pelicans in New Orleans. Felix, who was diagnosed with a mild sports hernia in the preseason, committed two turnovers and was held without a stat in a 104-100 defeat.

(10/14/2013) Cavaliers rookie guard Carrick Felix has been diagnosed with a mild sports herna, The News-Herald reports. Felix underwent an MRI that revealed the injury. 

The rookie Felix will be out indefinitely for the Cavaliers. There is no timetable currently for his return to action. 


Cavaliers bring rookies into the fold

(8/28/2013) The Cavaliers have finalized rookie deals with all of their draft selections, after agreeing to terms with No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett to a four-year rookie contract last week. He team also announced the finalization of deals with No. 19 pick Sergey Karasev as well as Carrick Felix , a second-rounder.

Bennett, who is likely to come off the bench at bother forward spots is recovering from shoulder surgery, but remains on track to start training camp with the team. He averaged 16.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as a freshman for UNLV.

Karasev, a 6'7" small forward, played in 11 games in the Eurocup tournament last season, averaging 16.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game for Triumph Moscow. Felix earned a guaranteed contract from the Cavaliers despite being a second-round pick out of Arizona State.
