(10/21/2014) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad said he expects to play during Tuesday's preseason game against the Pacers after missing the previous two with a sore right Achilles. He averaged 3.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 37 games as a rookie in 2013-14.

(10/16/2014) Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin (groin) and small forward Shabazz Muhammad (heel) has been ruled out for the Friday game against Milwaukee, per the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Martin has practiced the last two days, however. Both players are possibilities for the Sunday game at Oklahoma City.

(10/14/2014) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad is expected to sit again Friday, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Muhammad is dealing with a heel injury, and was spotted in a walking boot Tuesday. Head coach Flip Saunders said Muhammad will miss a few days, and probably won't play Friday against the Bucks.

(10/10/2014) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad will be held out of Friday's preseason game against the 76ers because of soreness in his Achilles, according to the team's official website. Muhammad has already played one game in the exhibition season, and the injury is not expected to be considered serious for his status in the regular season. 

Muhammad averaged 3.9 points over 37 games last season.


Timberwolves missing five vs. Bulls

(4/9/2014)  The Timberwolves have been hit hard by injuries in the season's final week, and will be without five players for Wednesday's game against the Bulls. Center Nikola Pekovic (ankle) and guards Kevin Martin (foot) and J.J. Barea (back) are joined on the inactive list by forwards Chase Budinger (ankle) and Shabazz Muhammad (knee).

Muhammad and Budinger might be out for the season as a result of their injuries, while the remaining three remain day to day moving forward.

(4/7/2014) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad was diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his right knee, according to the Star Tribune. Head coach Rick Adelman told the paper that Muhammad will likely not play again this season.

Muhammad, the 14th pick in last year's draft, endured a disappointing rookie campaign, averaging 3.9 points and 7.8 minutes in 37 appearances.

(4/4/2014) Timberwolves rookie forward Shabazz Muhammad suffered a knee injury during Friday's double-overtime thriller against Miami.

Muhammad was limited to just three minutes before exiting the game and not returning. He finished with one point on 0 of 1 from the floor, and 1 of 2 from the free throw line. He came in averaging just 3.9 points in 36 appearances. His status remains up in the air for Saturday against Orlando.

(2/26/2014) Timberwolves rookie forward Shabazz Muhammad has been playing more recently, and finally took advantage with a career-best performance in a 110-101 win over the Suns Tuesday.

Muhammad played just 24 minutes in the win, but that was enough to drop a career-high 20 points. He shot 8 for 13 from the field and 4 for 6 at the free-throw line, while adding six rebounds, one assist and two steals in the win.

Muhammad has been little more than a role player even in the 21 games he has appeared in this season, despite being the No. 14 overall pick in the most recent draft. He is averaging 3.2 points per game.

(2/8/2014) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad saw some run on Saturday, and managed to score in double figures in his team's 117-110 loss to the Trail Blazers.

Muhammad scored a season-high 12 points on 4 of 8 from the floor, missing all two of his 3-point attempts, and converting 4 of 5 from the free throw line. He also chipped in with two rebounds and one steal while logging 17 minutes of game action. It was his second appearance in February.

(2/6/2014) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad continues to see very limited playing time, as he appeared in his first game in over two weeks Wednesday against the Thunder. Muhammad scored six points on 3 of 5 shooting with one rebound and one assist in six minutes in a 106-97 loss.

Muhammad, the 14th pick in this year's draft, has appeared in just 14 of the first 49 games this season. He is averaging just 1.6 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.

(1/18/2014) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad saw rare playing time Saturday against the Jazz, and didn't make a particularly convincing case for more in the blowout win.

Muhammad appeared in just his 12 game of the season, scoring two points in seven minutes at the end of the 98-72 win. He shot just 1 of 5 from the field, and added one rebound, one assist and one turnover.

Muhammad, the 14th overall pick in this year's draft, has been up and down from the D-League and has not been part of the team's rotation.

(1/13/2014) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad rejoined the team after playing in Iowa Energy's Sunday game in the NBA Developmental League, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Head coach Flip Saunders said that Muhammad will be able to practice with the team before a four-game road trip begins on Jan. 21. "We want to send him down for short stints," Saunders said. "We don't want him to be disconnected with what we are trying to do."

Muhammad has scored 12 points on just 4 of 16 shooting in 11 games with Minnesota this season.

(1/3/2014) Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders has said that forward Shabazz Muhammad will likely play in a D-League game in Iowa Sunday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Muhammad has played in just 11 games this season, though he has seen limited action in three of his team's last four games, scoring four points on 2 of 3 shooting in eight minutes during that stretch. He is expected to be with Iowa Energy of the D-League for at least four games, the Star Tribune reports.
