Glen Rice Jr. recalled from D-League

(1/28/2014) Wizards guard Glen Rice Jr. has been recalled from the D-League, the Washington Post reports. Rice played three D-League games while recovering from a broken wrist, averaging 24.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

Rice underwent surgery to repair the injured wrist in mid-December. Despite his apparent health and his quality numbers in the D-League, he isn't a lock to be a major part of the Wizards' rotation moving forward. Rice has averaged just 2.9 points and just less than 10 minutes over 11 games played this season.


Glen Rice Jr. could return to practice next week

(1/16/2014) Wizards guard Glen Rice Jr. is getting closer to returning from a fractured right wrist, according to a CSNWashington.com report Thursday. Rice has been cleared to shoot and is nearing a return to full-contact practice, with a timeline indicating a possible return following Monday's game against the 76ers.

Rice had surgery to repair the fracture Dec. 18 and had a three-to-six week timetable for his return, meaning he is on track.

(1/1/2014) Wizards guard Glen Rice, Jr. is no longer wearing a splint on his surgically-repaired right wrist and took shots at practice Tuesday, but he remains without a timetable for return, CSNWashington.com reports.

Rice has averaged 9.9 minutes over 11 games played this season, scoring 2.9 points per game on 29.7 percent shooting.

Rice has played in 11 games this season, making one start. He has averaged 2.9 points and 9.9 minutes per game.
