Dennis Schroder does little in return vs. Pelicans

(3/21/2014) Hawks guard Dennis Schroder logged just 12 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Pelicans, his first game since suffering a sprained left ankle on Tuesday.

Schroder scored just four points on 2 of 5 shooting, missing his lone attempt from downtown in the second quarter. He also contributed with four rebounds, three assists and one steal in a 111-105 loss. He is averaging 5.6 points and 2.4 assists over his last five appearances.

(3/21/2014) Hawks guard Dennis Schroder is expected to return to action Friday night against the Pelicans, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Schroder was forced to leave Tuesday's game against the Raptors in the second half due to a sprained left ankle. He is averaging just 3.9 points and 1.9 assists over 36 appearances.

(3/18/2014) Hawks guard Dennis Schroder was forced to leave Tuesday's game against the Raptors in the second half due to a sprained left ankle. He was unable to return. He finished the game with five points and three assists in 13 minutes before being forced to leave.

Schroder has been seeing consistent playing time as the backup point guard recently, but his status moving forward is up in the air. Fortunately, the Hawks are off for two days before their next game, Friday against the Pelicans.

(2/26/2014) Hawks guard Dennis Schroder continues to make just a minimal impact, playing 17 minutes off the bench in a 115-104 loss to the Celtics Wednesday.

Schroder did not do much in his time Wednesday, and the Hawks were outscored by 14 points in his 17 minutes. He scored just four points on 2 of 3 shooting, and added only one assist and three rebounds.

Schroder has played inconsistent minutes in his rookie season, and hasn't made a good case for much more. He is averaging just 3.6 points and 1.8 assists in 12.8 minutes per game in his 27 appearances. 


Dennis Schroder scores 10 points in loss to Thunder

(1/28/2014) Hawks rookie guard Dennis Schroder enjoyed a productive performance, scoring a season-high 10 points off the bench in a 111-109 loss to the Thunder in Oklahoma City on Monday.

Schroder went 4 of 6 shooting from the field, including 2 of 2 from 3-point land. All two of his attempts from downtown came in the second quarter. He also contributed with one assist while logging 13 minutes of game action.

Schroder has only cracked double-digit scoring in two games this season. This was the first time since Nov. 3. He has averaged 6.0 points in 18.0 minutes off the bench in his last five games.

(1/16/2014) Hawks rookie guard Dennis Schroder saw his first game action since Dec. 31 in his team's 127-110 loss to the Nets in London on Thursday.

Schroder scored eight points on 4 of 7 shooting, also adding two assists, one rebound and two steals while logging 19 minutes off the bench. He is averaging 3.6 points and 2.1 assists through 16 games played this season.

(11/9/2013) Hawks guard Dennis Schroder returned from suspension but endured a shooting night against the Magic on Saturday.

Schroder checked into the game late in the first quarter and was unable to make any of his field goal attempts on the night. He went 0 of 8 shooting from the field, including a missed 3-pointer from the top of the key in the second quarter. He was held scoreless with one assist while logging 10 minutes of game action in a 104-94 victory.

Schroder has scored in double figures just once this season. He is averaging 5.0 points and 3.3 rebounds on 29.0 percent shooting from the field through five games played.

Dennis Schroder suspended for low blow

(11/7/2013) Hawks guard Dennis Schroder has been suspended for one game by the NBA for hitting DeMarcus Cousins of the Kings in the groin area on Tuesday, the Sacramento Bee reports Thursday. 

The 20-year-old rookie from Germany played 19 minutes in the game and scored six points with seven assists. Schroder has averaged 6.3 points, 4.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game over his first four NBA contests. 

He will sit on Thursday at Denver and return to action on Saturday against Orlando. 


Dennis Schroder overcomes knee issue

(10/22/2013) Hawks guard Dennis Schroder came off the bench in Tuesday's game against the Pacers, after overcoming some knee soreness that cost him playing time earlier in the preseason.

Schroder played 10 minutes off the bench, and was scoreless on four field-goal attempts. He added three assists and two turnovers in the game. The rookie has appeared in four preseason games, and is averaging 4.8 points and 3.3 assists per game, while turning the ball over three times on average in 21.0 minutes per game.

Schroder is expected to be the team's primary backup point guard this season.  


Dennis Schroder dealing with sore knee

(10/17/2013) Hawks rookie guard Dennis Schroder was held out of Thursday's preseason game against the Spurs because of a sore knee, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Schroder told the newspaper he suffered the injury in one of the most recent practices. The Hawks will play three more preseason games before opening the regular season Oct. 30 at Dallas.
