He scored three points on 1 of 2 from the floor, including 0 of 1 from downtown, and 1 of 4 from the free throw line. He also chipped in with three rebounds, two assists and one steal. (4/14/2014) With the final spot in the Eastern Conference already clinched, the Hawks will give Paul Millsap, Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll a day of rest Monday against the Bobcats, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The team will trot out the following starting lineup for the penultimate game of the season: Jeff Teague, Lou Williams, Cartier Martin, Mike Scott and Pero Antic.

Pero Antic sits out Saturday vs. Miami

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(4/12/2014) Hawks forward Pero Antic is back on the sidelines Saturday against the Heat, as he continues to receive periodic rest while dealing with a sore right ankle.

Antic was able to play in Friday's game against the Nets, but the quick turnaround was obviously too much for him to play. He has sat out the second half of both of the team's last two back-to-back sets this week. He will likely remain day to day moving forward, with the team's second-to-last game set for Monday against the Bobcats.

He missed the team's previous game with ankle soreness, and was eased back into action off the bench. He scored four points on 2 of 6 shooting while adding just one rebound in a 93-88 win.

Antic has been dogged by ankle injuries for much of the season, but has still had a solid rookie season at the age of 31. He is averaging 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 18.5 minutes per game in 48 appearances.

(3/27/2014) Hawks guard Kyle Korver (back) and center Pero Antic (ankle) will both be sidelined for Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers, the team announced shortly before tipoff.

Pero Antic tweaks ankle in loss

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/27/2014) Hawks center Pero Antic was forced to leave Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, after spraining his ankle during the third quarter.

Antic played 16 minutes before suffering the injury, which came when he tripped on a coach's foot following a 3-pointer, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He finished the game with three points on 1 of 5 shooting, and added just four rebounds and one steal while turning the ball over three times in a 107-83 loss.

Antic has dealt with issues in that same ankle this season, and at this point it is not clear how severe this injury is. The 31-year-old rookie is averaging 7.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game on the season. The Hawks' next game is set for Thursday against the Blazers.

Pero Antic registers second double-double

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(3/17/2014) Hawks center Pero Antic was all over the glass on Monday, securing a rare double-double in a 97-83 win over the Bobcats.

Antic scored 11 points on 4 of 10 from the floor, including 3 of 7 from behind the arc. He grabbed 10 boards, two of which came from the offensive end of the glass. He also chipped in with two assists and one steal while logging 27 minutes of game action.

(3/16/2014) Hawks center Pero Antic put together a solid game Saturday against the Nuggets, despite being held almost entirely off the boards in a 97-92 win.

Antic scored 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting, with three 3-pointers made, including a 20-footer with less than a minute left to win the game. He added just one rebound in 24 minutes of action, while dishing out two assists and nabbing one steal.

Antic has scored in double figures in all but one of six games since his return from an ankle injury. He is averaging 12.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in that span.

Pero Antic makes surprise return Wednesday

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/6/2014) Hawks center Pero Antic was not expected to play Wednesday against the Trail Blazers, but he ended up making his return from a 17-game absence in a 102-78 loss.

Antic had been able to take part in three-man drills, but was expected to need more time in his recovery from a fractured ankle. However, he saw 16 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's game and played well despite the lopsided score. He put up 10 points on 3 of 5 shooting, while adding four rebounds.

Antic was playing well prior to the injury, scoring in double figures in four of his last five games. He will likely be eased back into the rotation at first, but should carve out a solid role on the shorthanded Hawks.

Pero Antic progressing, still unlikely to play

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/5/2014) Hawks center Pero Antic will dress for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers, as he did for the team's last game as he reaches the final stages of his recovery from a fractured ankle. Unfortunately, Antic may not make his return to action, as he is still limited to 3-on-3 contact scrimmages in practice according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Antic has been in uniform for the team's last two games, but that is likely due to how few healthy bodies they have at this point. His return is still likely a few days away.

His status for Sunday against the Suns could be determined during shootaround.

"Definitely, getting close," Antic said. "I've started practicing with the team. I'm feeling good. There is soreness in the ankle but the medical staff will say when I can play. I'm happy that I've started to play with the team on the court and not to be bored in the weight room by myself, on the court by myself."
