Nets' Markel Brown cleared to play Wednesday vs. Memphis

(1/14/2015) Nets guard Markel Brown is available to play Wednesday against the Grizzlies, reports The Record.

Brown was dealing with an MCL sprain. In seven games, he’s averaging 1.9 points and 0.6 assists.

(1/9/2015) Nets guard Markel Brown has been diagnosed with a right MCL sprain, the team announced.

Brown will be re-evaluated next week. Brown was recalled from the D-League on Thursday. He's already been up with the club this year. In seven games, he's averaged 1.9 points per game.

Brown and Jefferson have been playing in the D-League since Jan. 1.


Nets' Markel Brown suffers knee bruise on D-League assignment

(1/2/2015) Nets guard Markel Brown suffered a bruised right knee Friday while playing for Brooklyn's D-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, the team announced.

Brown went down with what appeared to be a scary injury, where teammates had to carry him off the court. He did not return to action.

He is considered day to day.


Nets send rookies Brown, Jefferson to NBA Development League

(1/1/2015) The Nets announced Thursday they assigned rookie guard Markel Brown and rookie forward Cory Jefferson to the NBA Development League. 

Brown has appeared in seven games with the Nets this season, averaging 1.9 points in 5.4 minutes per game. Jefferson has appeared in 14 games (one start), averaging 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game.

Brown has played one game this season, while Kirilenko has missed the past five for personal reasons.

Karasev has scored two points in three appearances, while Brown has yet to appear in a game during the 2014-15 season.

(8/11/2014) Nets guard Markel Brown will be held out of basketball activities for four-to-six weeks after being diagnosed with a nondisplaced fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his right hand, the team announced Monday.

Brown was selected 44th overall in this year's draft, and the Nets acquired him for cash considerations on the night of the draft. He averaged 17.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists in his senior season at Oklahoma State.
