Thunder F Mitch McGary nearing a return to the lineup

(11/24/2014) Thunder power forward Mitch McGary returned to practice on Monday and is nearing a return to the lineup, reports the Oklahoman. McGary has been sidelined for six weeks with a fractured foot. Coach Scott Brooks wouldn't reveal if the rookie will be on a minutes restriction once he returns.

"He's just an unknown," Brooks said. "He hasn't played, he hasn't practiced, so I don't know. That's going to work itself out. So I don’t know how many minutes are going to be there. But I love his energy, love his enthusiasm for his teammates."

(11/22/2014) Thunder power forward Mitch McGary went through "parts" of Oklahoma City's practice on Saturday, reports the Oklahoman. McGary is entering the sixth week of his recovery from a fractured left foot, which has caused him to miss the first 14 games of the season.

The injury was initially expected to keep him sidelined five-to-seven weeks. If the team stays true to his timetable, McGary could be back in action in approximately two weeks.

(10/9/2014) Thunder rookie forward Mitch McGary suffered a fracture in his left foot in Wednesday's preseason opener against Denver, the Oklahoman reports. The injury is expected to keep the rookie out at least 5-7 weeks. McGary flew back to Oklahoma City will be re-evaluated in the near future.

(7/9/2014) The Thunder signed forward Mitch McGary to a rookie-scale deal prior to the start of Orlando Summer League, the team announced.

McGary was the No. 21 overall pick in this year's draft, despite playing in just eight games at the University of Michigan last season. McGary dealt with back issues in college, but has already been able to play in the team's first two Summer League games.
