Andrew Wiggins believes trade to Wolves was 'best move for me'

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/16/2015) Fresh off winning the MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star Weekend, Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins had time to reflect on the trade that sent him from Cleveland to Minnesota in the offseason.

Wiggins was the No. 1 overall pick of the Cavaliers in the 2014 draft, but was eventually traded to the Timberwolves for Kevin Love. By getting away from glare of being LeBron James' teammate, Wiggins said it helped him mature faster, reports the National Post.

"I think it was the best move for me," Wiggins said. "It gave me more room and put me in a position where I could grow up faster. In the league, that's always what's best for you."

Wiggins admits that being a role player for the Cavaliers would've stunted his growth and being one of the top options for the Wolves has helped his game develop faster.

"Here I'm getting more time to shine and do what I was put in this league to do. And I'm enjoying the process," he said.
