Samuel Dalembert plays through back issue

(3/28/2014) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert played 22 minutes Thursday against the Clippers, after waking up with a stiff back earlier in the day.

Dalembert played sell in spite of his injury, snagging 11 rebounds in 22 minutes of action and adding six points. He shot 3 of 5 from the field and added one block and one rebound as the Mavericks fell, 109-103.

Dalembert has appeared in 71 of 73 games this season, averaging 6.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

(3/27/2014) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert woke up Thursday with a stiff back, but told coach Rick Carlisle he will be able to play that evening against the Clippers, according to MavsOutsider.com. Dalembert has played in all but two of the team's games this season.

(3/27/2014) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert is a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Clippers, due to a stiff back, according to the Dallas Morning-News. Dalembert woke up with a stiff back and will undergo treatment in order to try and play Thursday.

Dalembert is coming off consecutive doubled-digit scoring games, and is averaging 6.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in 70 appearances this season.

(3/23/2014) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert had another dominant night in the paint on Sunday, falling three blocks shy of a rare triple-double in an overtime loss to the Nets.

Dalembert scored 12 points on 4 of 5 from the floor, and 4 of 6 from the free throw line. He grabbed 15 rebounds, blocked seven shots and handed out one assist while logging 35 minutes of game action. He is averaging 7.8 points and 9.8 rebounds over his last five games.

(2/22/2014) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert came up big in the paint and recorded his third double-double of the season in his team's 113-102 victory over the Pistons in Detroit.

Dalembert scored 12 points on 6 of 9 shooting from the floor, missing all three of his attempts from the free throw line. He also chipped in with 11 rebounds, one assist and three blocks while logging 25 minutes of game action. He has averaged 6.6 points ad 7.8 rebounds over his last five games played.

(1/22/2014) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert scored four points on 1 of 3 shooting in 17 minutes of action in his team's 93-85 loss to the Raptors Wednesday.

Dalembert had to leave Monday's game due to a shoulder strain but came close to his average of 20.2 minutes in Wednesday's game while also recording seven rebounds and one steal. He has averaged 6.1 points and 6.2 rebounds over 42 games played.

Dalembert left Monday's game with a shoulder strain and was evaluated Tuesday, but it sounds as if the injury was minor. He has averaged 6.1 points and 6.2 rebounds over 41 games.

Dalembert will likely return to action Tuesday against the Lakers. He has averaged 6.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over 32 games played.

(12/26/2013) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert played through an illness Thursday, and had a solid performance against the Spurs.

Dalembert played 24 minutes off the bench despite being held out of shootaround earlier in the day. He scored eight points on 4 of 7 shooting, and added six rebounds and three blocks in a 116-107 loss.

Dalembert has played an inconsistent role for the Mavericks recently, playing as few as six and as many as 29 minutes over the last four games. He is averaging 6.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the season.

Coach Rick Carlisle told the team's website he will not have Brandan Wright available for the game, but Samuel Dalembert will be active and available.

(11/23/2013) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert enjoyed his best game of the season as he snatched 10-plus rebounds for the third straight game and doubled up in Friday's win over the Jazz.

Dalembert went a perfect 8 of 8 shooting from the field and 2 of 4 from the free throw line. He finished the game with 18 points and 12 rebounds, with five of them coming from the offensive side. He also chipped in with one assist and two blocks while logging 29 minutes of game action.

Dalembert is averaging 8.4 points and 9.8 rebounds over his last five games played.

Jae Crowder starts over Samuel Dalembert Monday

(11/18/2013) The Mavericks decided to change things up with the starting lineup Monday, and they did so in a curious way. 6'6" guard Jae Crowder made his first career start at center against the 76ers, with Samuel Dalembert coming off the bench.

Even with the move to the bench, Dalembert was still the primary center in the game, as he played 28 minutes to Crowder's 20. Dalembert was also the more productive of the two, scoring eight points on 3 of 6 shooting, with 14 rebounds and three blocks. Crowder has just two points on 1 of 8 shooting, with six rebounds and two assists in a 97-94 win.

It is not clear if this is a lineup change the Mavericks want to stick with moving forward. 


Samuel Dalembert scores season-high 15 points

(11/13/2013) Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert turned in a solid performance as he scored in double figures for the third time this season during Tuesday's contest against the Wizards.

Dalembert went 5 of 7 shooting from the field and 5 of 6 from the charity stripe. He finished the game with a season-high 15 points, five rebounds, one assist and two steals while logging 23 minutes of game action in a 105-95 victory.

Dalembert has started in each of the team's first eight games. He is averaging 8.2 points and 6.0 boards on 54.5 percent shooting from the field over his last five games.

(7/25/2013) The Mavericks were forced to settle after striking out on Dwight Howard in free agency, as they agreed to a two-year deal with center Samuel Dalembert last week. Dalembert, 32, will make $3.7 million in the first year of his contract, and has a partially guaranteed second season on the deal worth $3.9 million. Dalembert carries career averages of 8.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game in his 11 NBA seasons.

(4/22/2013) Bucks center Samuel Dalembert, who will be an unrestricted free agent over the summer, said he has interest in possibly playing for the Heat next season, reports FOX Sports. Dalembert said he would be open to taking a paycut to play for a contending team. “The Heat will be definitely an option,’’ Dalembert added. “It’s up to them and seeing what’s going to be out there. But at this point you want to be with a contending team. You don’t want to go backwards, so you want to chase that promised land.’’
