Stephen Curry, LeBron James unanimous All-NBA choices

(5/21/2015) Stephen Curry and LeBron James were unanimous choices for the All-NBA first team, announced on Thursday. 

The Warriors' Curry, who was named NBA MVP, and the Cavaliers' James received first team votes on all 129 ballots submitted. Joining Curry at guard on the All-NBA team is the Rockets' James Harden, who received 125 votes. 

Joining James at forward is Anthony Davis of the Pelicans (119 votes). The center is Marc Gasol of the Grizzlies (65 votes). 

The second team consists of the Trail Blazers' LaMarcus Aldridge, the Kings' DeMarcus Cousins, the Bulls' Pau Gasol, the Thunder's Russell Westbrook and the Clippers' Chris Paul.

The third team is the Spurs' Tim Duncan, the Clippers' Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, the Warriors' Klay Thompson and the Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving

(5/14/2015) Bulls forward Pau Gasol (hamstring) is in the starting lineup for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Cavaliers on Thursday.

Gasol missed each of the last two games while recovering from the hamstring injury and watched his team's 2-1 series lead turn into a 3-2 series deficit. After scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in Game 1, the forward was held to just 18 points and eight rebounds in his next two games combined before taking a seat.

The Bulls are 2-point favorites at home on Thursday in the potential elimination game.


Thibodeau: Bulls' Pau Gasol 'feeling a lot better'

(5/14/2015) Bulls forward Pau Gasol has been slowed by a sore hamstring and is probable for Game 6 on Thursday.  

Gasol has missed the last two games, but at Wednesday shootaround, Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said that Gasol was "feeling a lot better," per the Daily Herald.

Gasol's teammates don't seem concerned that Gasol will be slowed by the injury. 

"Pau doesn't move around out there like a gazelle," Mike Dunleavy Jr. said. "Him at not 100 percent is OK with us."

(5/13/2015) Bulls forward Pau Gasol said Wednesday he has made good progress on his injured hamstring and he intends to play in Thursday's Game 6 matchup against the Cavaliers, reports ESPNChicago.com.

"I'll be out there," he said.

The hamstring issue kept Gasol out of Game 4 and 5, but he was able to participate in a light practice Wednesday.

Gasol added that he was unsure how many minutes he would be able to play Thursday, but he wants to see how the hamstring reacts to playing. He is considered probable heading into the game.

(5/12/2015) Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau has confirmed that Pau Gasol (hamstring) is out for Tuesday's Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals in Cleveland, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Gasol sat out Game 4 with a hamstring injury and did not practice Monday, only doing rehab work to the hamstring.

Gasol has not ruled out playing in Game 6, but added that he hasn't run at full speed or changed direction yet.

On Tuesday, Gasol worked through a series of stretching exercises for the strained left hamstring with Thibodeau keeping hope that his power forward would be a game-time decision.

Asked whether Gasol was improving, Thibodeau said, "A little bit."

Without Gasol, Nikola Mirotic saw an increase in minutes for the Bulls in Game 4.

Gasol has averaged 12.6 points and six rebounds for the three games he's played in the series.

(5/11/2015) Bulls forward Pau Gasol was sidelined for Game 4 on Sunday with a hamstring strain and may miss Game 5 against the Cavaliers as well, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"He's still sore," said coach Tom Thibodeau, who added Gasol has yet to do any on-court activity.

Gasol is averaging 12.6 points and six rebounds per game in three games against the Cavaliers in the postseason.

"It was different," Thibodeau said of the new rotation. "Obviously, Pau brings a lot to our team. But we have more than enough. Whoever we have, just find a way."

Gasol was ruled out a day after an MRI revealed he sustained a strained hamstring. Gasol didn't practice Saturday and is considered day-to-day moving forward. Gasol injured his hamstring in Game 3 and was forced to exit. He finished with six points and four rebounds in 22 minutes.

(5/9/2015) An MRI has revealed that Bulls forward Pau Gasol is dealing with a strained hamstring, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Coach Tom Thibodeau said that Gasol didn't practice Saturday but is day-to-day moving forward. Gasol had to leave Game 3 against the Cavaliers due to the injury, managing just six points and four rebounds in 22 minutes before exiting. His status for Sunday's Game 4 is up in the air.

(5/8/2015) Bulls forward Pau Gasol was forced to leave the Game 3 matchup against the Cavaliers on Friday after he suffered a hamstring injury, the team announced.

Gasol scored six points and grabbed four rebounds before suffering the injury. Gasol will undergo an MRI on the injury Saturday to determine the severity, reports SportsNet Chicago. Gasol is unsure if he'll play in Game 4 on Sunday. 

"Hamstrings are tricky and dangerous," he said, per the Chicago Tribune. "Just hoping for the best and trying to stay positive."

Gasol scored his 21 on 10 of 16 shooting from the field. He made his lone free-throw attempt of the night. Gasol also had four assists in the game. Gasol did a great job in the game hitting the mid-range jumper.

Gasol also pulled down 10 rebounds in the contest for his fifth consecutive double-double in the series. It's his longest double-double streak in the playoffs since the 2008-2009 season. He added four assists and two blocks to his totals.

(4/9/2015) Bulls power forward Pau Gasol scored 16 points on 8 of 17 shooting while hauling in 15 rebounds in his team's 89-78 win over the Heat Thursday.

Gasol had just missed a double-double in his previous two games before posting his best rebounding total since March 11 Thursday. He also kicked in one assist and one block in 33 minutes in the win, which came despite the Heat owning a 19-point lead at halftime.

"Once we started getting into them, getting rebounds, containing them to one shot, things turned around," Gasol said after the game, per the Associated Press.

The Bulls will look for a second straight win when the 76ers come to town Saturday.

(3/24/2015) The Bulls' Pau Gasol has primarily been a low-post player throughout his 14-years in the NBA but this season he has successfully added the 3-point shot to his game, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Gasol is 5 for 5 in 3-point shooting for over his last six games, putting him at 12 for 22 for the season. That .525 percentage far surpasses his previous best (with at least 10 attempts) of .286.

"For the most part of my NBA career, I've been in the post. So I didn't shoot too many 3s," Gasol said. "But in our offense, there are certain plays where I'm in those corners. And I'm shooting it effectively so far."

Gasol scored 27 points on 13-of-25 shooting from the field. He went 1-for-2 from the free-throw line. Gasol also brought down 16 total rebounds, with 12 of them coming on the defensive glass. 

Forwards Nikola Mirotic and Tony Snell also posted double-doubles in the win. Mirotic scored 16 points and came up with 12 rebounds. Snell scored 10 points and recorded 10 rebounds. 

Point guard Aaron Brooks led all scorers with a season-high 31.

Gasol managed just four points on two-of-13 shooting. While his shooting suffered, Gasol managed a team-high 15 rebounds and added four assists.

Gibson has been dealing with an ankle injury, which he injured during Friday's contest. Forward Tony Snell is expected to see his role increase with Gibson sidelined.

Meanwhile, forward Pau Gasol is dealing with an illness, but he has been cleared to play Sunday.

The Bulls are 1 1/2-point underdogs.
