Report: Grizzlies list Zach Randolph as questionable vs. Cavs

(2:39 pm ET) After an MRI did not reveal damage to his right knee, Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cavaliers, reports The Commercial Appeal.

Randolph has not missed a game this season and is averaging 16.1 points and 11.4 rebounds.

Backup forward Jon Leuer is expected to see an increase in playing time if Randolph is held out. In 24 games, Leuer is averaging 5.9 points and 3.7 rebounds.

(12/18/2014) Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph scored 21 points on Wednesday against the Spurs.

Randolph shot 9-19 from the field. He also sunk three three throws. Randolph was active on the boards during the contest, pulling down 21 rebounds. Fifteen of those came on the defensive side of the floor. Randolph added one assist and two steals.

It was Randolph's 14th double-double of the season, where he shot 10 for 14 from the field.

The Grizzlies willl look to stay hot Tuesday against the Warriors.

Randolph shot 7-12 from the field. He made six of his nine free throw attempts, finishing with 20 points. Randolph was pretty active on the boards, pulling down 11 rebounds.

(11/30/2014) Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph scored a team-high 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting while grabbing 12 rebounds in his team's 97-85 win over the Kings Sunday.

With Kings center DeMarcus Cousins (illness) on the sidelines, Randolph was able to find room to work, picking up his second straight double-double. His 22 points match his highest total since scoring 25 in the season opener. Randolph also managed to rack up four assists and three steals in the win, the Grizzlies' fifth straight. They'll look to keep rolling Wednesday in Houston.

(11/19/2014) Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph scored 18 points on 7 of 18 shooting while grabbing 18 rebounds in his team's 96-92 loss to the Raptors Wednesday.

Randolph was one of three Memphis players to post a double-double, but the team was unable to come up with a win despite a 50-35 rebounding edge. His 18 points were his most in the last five games, and Randolph now has eight double-doubles in 12 games. The Grizzlies will look to bounce back Friday against the Celtics.

(11/15/2014) Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph scored 17 points on 7 of 22 shooting while hauling in a season-high 22 rebounds in his team's 95-88 win over the Pirstons Saturday.

Randolph delivered his worst shooting performance of the season, making just 31.8 percent of his shots, but he was able to rack up 13 offensive rebounds en route to his seventh double-double. The 9-1 Grizzlies will square off with the Rockets Monday.

(6/27/2014) Looks like the staunch Grizzlies frontcourt will in fact stay intact, as Yahoo Sports reported early Friday that forward Zach Randolph exercised his player option before agreeing to a two-year contract extension. 

The extension is worth $20 million, likely inferring that Memphis will look to reload and continue to make noise in the Western Conference playoffs. This agreement comes off the heels of a report that suggested Randolph might test free agency. He averaged 17.4 points and 10.1 rebounds last season in Memphis.

(6/25/2014) Contract talks between the Grizzlies and veteran forward Zach Randolph have reached an impasse, and Yahoo Sports reports that this could cause him to opt out of his current deal. 

Randolph is slated to make $16.5 million for the final year of his contract, but has been seeking an extension. Memphis might be reluctant to commit to the 32-year-old big man long term, meaning Randolph might look elsewhere for career stability. 

Since joining the team in 2009, Randolph has averaged 17.8 points and 11.0 rebounds per game, helping establish to the physical brand of basketball Memphis has become known for.

Randolph will miss Memphis' pivotal Game 7 against the Thunder in Oklahoma City. He is averaging 18.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in his first six postseason games this season.

If Randolph is indeed out Wednesday, his next chance to play would come Friday in Chicago.

(1/30/2014) Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph put up yet another solid performance Wednesday, though he fell short of a double-double in the 99-89 win over the Kings.

Randolph scored 18 points on 8 of 16 shooting in 36 minutes of action. His seven rebounds were his lowest total in two weeks, but he made up for that a bit by filling up the box score with two assists and four steals in the win.

Randolph has remained remarkably steady throughout the season, averaging at least 17.0 points per game in each month. With one game left, he is averaging 17.9 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in January.

Half of Randolph's rebounds were on the offensive end as he won the matchup battle underneath against Anthony Davis, who grabbed just six defensive rebounds in the Memphis loss. Randolph also had three assists in 38 minutes of action Monday. He has averaged 17.1 points and 10.6 rebounds over 38 games played.
