News: Heat forward Chris Andersen was once again not much of a factor during Tuesday's contest against the Knicks. Andersen finished with six points in the 102-90 defeat on 2 of 3 shooting from the field. He went 2 of 6 from the free-throw line and also added two rebounds and one assist to his stat line, while logging 10 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: While the addition of Andersen has helped the Heat sure up their defense and rebounding issues, his contributions to Fantasy owners have been minimal. The Birdman is averaging just 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over his last six games, which isn't going to help out many owners out. Andersen should continue to be ignored in the majority of formats at this point.
News: Heat forward Chris Andersen failed to make much of an impact off the bench in Tuesday's contest against the Hawks. Anderson played 16 minutes as he shot 2 of 3 from the field and grabbed three rebounds. He also chipped in with two steals and a blocked shot in a 98-81 blowout win.
Analysis: Anderson continues to see roughly 15 minutes off the bench since signing with Miami, but has only scored 3.3 points and grabbed 3.4 rebounds over that span. The Heat use him for his defensive prowess and occasional offensive ability, so continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats for the remainder of the regular season.
News: Heat forward Chris Andersen was able to play 14 minutes Thursday against the Bulls, despite suffering a sprained foot in the teams previous game Wednesday night. Andersen shot 0 of 2 from the field and grabbed two rebounds, though he did add a steal and a pair of blocks, in an 86-67 win.
Analysis: Anderson does little statistically for the Heat, but he has proven to be a useful defender for them on the interior. Unfortunately, his lack of production in the box score is what matters most for Fantasy owners, who should continue to ignore Andersen moving forward.
News: Heat forward Chris Andersen was able to get through shootaround Thursday, and will be able to play in that nights game against the Bulls. Andersen suffered a foot sprain during Wednesdays game against the Hawks.
Analysis: Andersen gives the Heat some much-needed size against the Bulls big frontcourt, though his statistical impact remains limited. He is averaging just 3.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game on the season, and should be left for just the deepest of Fantasy formats at this point.
News: Heat forward Chris Andersen played just nine minutes Wednesday against the Hawks, as he suffered a foot sprain in the game. He finished the game with just two rebounds while being held scoreless in a 103-90 win. After the game, coach Eric Spoelstra told reporters that Andersen will be re-evaluated prior to Thursdays game against the Bulls.
Analysis: Andersen has been a decent pickup for the Heat, providing them with some rebounding and defense, however his impact does not often show up in the box score. He is averaging 3.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, while playing 10.8 minutes per game. We will keep an eye on his status moving forward, however Andersen has very litel Fantasy value at this point.
News: Heat forward Chris Andersen struggled to make any sort of impact in the teams final game before the All-Star break Thursday against the Thunder. Andersen played just seven minutes in the 110-100 win, finishing with one point on 0 of 3 shooting. He did grab four rebounds in the game, but was otherwise unable to do much.
Analysis: Andersen has been playing between 10 and 15 minutes most nights for the Heat since joining the team, and his production has been consistently unremarkable. He has scored just one point over the last three games. At this point, he is not worth owning in any Fantasy formats.
News: The Miami Heat signed forward Chris Andersen for the remainder of the season after his current 10-day contract expired Friday. Andersen joined the Heat in mid-January and earned a pair of 10-day contracts. "It was a no-brainer," coach Erik Spoelstra said about the signing.
Analysis: Andersen has appeared in eight games for Miami and developed into a key member off the bench for the reigning NBA champions. He is averaging 12.8 minutes per game this month, producing 4.3 rebounds per game. His offensive game lacks much upside and he is considered a marginal Fantasy option.
News: Heat forward Chris Andersen turned in another productive effort on the glass during Wednesday's contest against the Rockets. Andersen pulled down four rebounds in the 114-108 win, while logging just 12 minutes of game action. He also added three points on 1 of 3 shooting from the field to go along with a block to his stat line.
Analysis: Andersen seems to be a perfect fit with the Heat as he has been with the team for just two weeks but has already pushed Joel Anthony out of the rotation. However, Wednesday's contest will likely be as good as it gets for the veteran as he will only be used in short spurts for the time being. While he can be a decent source for rebounds and blocks, his limited offensive game and minutes make him a player who should continue to be ignored in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: The Heat have signed forward Chris Andersen to a second 10-day contract, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Analysis: Anderson's first 10-day deal has nearly expired, so Miami will hand him another contract to see what he can offer. He has only appeared in one game and scored just two points in four minutes of game action since joining Miami. The fact that he earned another 10-day contract could be a positive sign for the 34-year-old veteran, especially since the Heat are lacking some size. Still, he is a marginal contributor off the bench and should be ignored in all Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Heat forward Chris Andersen made his season debut during Friday's contest against the Pistons. Andersen, who was signed to a 10-day contract last Monday, finished with two points in the 110-88 win. He made his lone field-goal attempt and also added two rebounds to his stat line, while logging four minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Andersen was brought in to help the Heat on the glass, but it remains unclear on how long he will stick around with Miami. He is currently under a 10-day contract, which means the Heat will have to make a decision on his future with the club by next Wednesday. If Andersen is able to prove he is healthy and can remain productive, he could end up sticking around for a while. However, Fantasy owners should leave him on the waiver wire until that happens.
News: Heat forward Chris Andersen, who was signed to a 10-day contract last Monday, was active for Miami's contest against the Raptors. Andersen is expected to see minutes at center and power forward with Miami.
Analysis: Andersen was brought in to help the Heat rebound the ball, but no one is sure what to really expect from the now 34-year-old. He only appeared in 32 games with the Nuggets last year and also had some legal issues to iron out. However, he was only signed to a 10-day deal, which means the Heat what to see how things play out before committing to him long term. While Andersen was a viable source for rebounds and blocks back in his heyday, he should be left on the waiver wire for the time being.
News: The Nuggets waived forward Chris Andersen Tuesday night and signed free-agent forward Anthony Randolph, reports the Denver Post. Andersen was released via the team's amnesty clause according to league sources. Denver will still pay Andersen the remaining $4.8 million on his contract and he can sign with another team if he clears waivers.
Analysis: Andersen played in just 32 games last season due to injuries and being in the dog house, so this move doesn't come as much of a surprise. The 34-year-old is also going through some more legal troubles at the moment, so most teams will likely stay clear of him until those are resolved. Keep an eye on Andersen's status over the summer. However, he likely won't be worth drafting in any format no matter where he lands next year.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen has been excused from all team-related activities as of Thursday, after Denver-area police announced a criminal investigation into a property owned by Andersen. Andersen has not been arrested or charged with a crime, however the Denver Post is reporting that he will not be with the time while he deals with the investigation.
Analysis: Andersen has not appeared in a game since March 15, so this does not look to have any impact on the team for the postseason. He has no value in any playoff Fantasy formats, so the only thing this could impact is his status for next season.
News: Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov was healthy enough to return to the floor on Sunday against the Grizzlies, however with how well forward Chris Andersen has been playing recently, coach George Karl decided to keep things the way they had been. Andersen finished the game with seven points and nine rebounds, narrowly missing a double-double. He played 19 minutes in the Nuggets 94-91 loss.
Analysis: Anderson is averaging 18.4 minutes per game over the last five, putting up 6.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game over the course of that time span. Andersen is primarily a source of blocks, however with the rest of the Nuggets front court getting healthy, he is likely to see his minutes trimmed back, making him just a low-end Fantasy option for deeper leagues.
News: While Nuggets forward Chris Andersen had seen his playing time increase as a rash of injuries hit the team, he has returned to his place on the bench, as he received just nine minutes of playing time on Thursday against the Spurs. He failed to score In the game, though he did block two shots and grab two rebounds in the 114-99 loss to San Antonio.
Analysis: Andersen had a string of four-straight 20-plus minute games snapped on Monday with a DNP, and he has only played once since then. With the Nuggets depth, they dont like to rely on any one player too much. With Nene hopefully returning from injury after the All-Star break, Andersen will find playing time even harder to come by, so he should remain no more than a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen has been a valuable contributor off the bench the last two games with Nene and Timofey Mozgov out with injuries. Andersen has totaled 22 points and 18 rebounds over 44 minutes. However, Nuggets coach George Karl cautions that Andersen's minutes might not remain the same moving forward. "The same place we've always been, man. When the opportunity is there," Karl told The Denver Post about giving minutes to Andersen. "I only have 96 minutes up front. How I divide them up ... I think Bird has always been on my chart. He's never been off my chart of playing. I'm glad he got the opportunity. I'm glad he helped us win a game. It's going to be a few more games, he's still going to get the opportunity to play minutes."
Analysis: The Nuggets have a pretty stacked rotation at power forward and center when everyone is healthy, which is why Andersen hasn't been an impact player in 2011-12. His recent play obviously gives the coaching staff confidence when he is out on the court, but don't get too excited about Andersen's recent run. His stats should take a dip once Mozgov and Nene get healthy. Andersen still has very low-end Fantasy appeal.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen had his best performance off the bench on Tuesday against the Suns. He scored a season-high 16 points and hauled in seven rebounds in the 109-92 win. He went 6 for 9 from the field and made 4 of 6 free throws while playing 22 minutes off the bench. Andersen also blocked six shots and stole a pass in the victory.
Analysis: Andersen is not guaranteed minutes on a nightly basis but he has scored in double figures in two of his last three games, and remains a solid shotblocker for the Nuggets. With all of the injuries in the frontcourt for Denver, he could see an improved role going forward so keep an eye on the situation. But until that happens, leave Andersen for the deepest of category-based formats.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen nearly posted his first double-double of the year on Monday night against the Rockets. He scored 10 points and hauled in nine rebounds in the 99-90 loss. He went a perfect 4 for 4 from the floor and made 2 of 3 free throws while playing 19 minutes off the bench. Andersen also chipped in with two blocked shots in the defeat.
Analysis: Andersen saw some decent playing time on Monday due to all of the injuries in the Nuggets' frontcourt but he does not have a huge role off the bench at this point. While he can help out in both rebounding and blocked shots when seeing steady minutes, continue to ignore the 33-year-old in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: Denver forward Chris Andersen saw 22 minutes of action on Tuesday night in Milwaukee, but failed to contribute much. He scored five points and grabbed five boards for the Nuggets. The Birdman also made two steals in Denver's 105-95 win.
Analysis: Andersen was not in the good graces of coach George Karl for a while this season, which limited his playing time. Because of inconsistent minutes (averaging around 12 per game), Andersen is not a recommended Fantasy option at this time. If Karl begins to give him more court time, the Birdman could be a cheap source of rebounds in deeper category-based formats.
News: After spending much of the 2010-11 season dealing with a variety of injuries that cost him 37 games, Nuggets F Chris Andersen is healthy and ready for the regular season to start after making it through Denvers two preseason wins over the Suns. Andersen averaged 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 43 minutes over the two games, and he blocked three shots.
Analysis: Andsersen is a defensive stopper and rebounding specialist who has more value to his team in real life than in Fantasy. Despite this, he can be moderately useful as a low-end option if he gets consistent minutes, as hes one of the best shot-blockers and rebounders in the game. Keep an eye on how the Nuggets utilize him in his age-33 season and consider him a low-end option in deeper leagues on Draft Day.
News: After missing five straight games with an ankle issue, Nuggets F Chris Andersen was back in the lineup for Monday's game against the Warriors. He made his presence felt early and often, with five rim-rattling dunks to spark the Nuggets in the shootout victory. Andersen scored 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the floor, and he added 12 rebounds as a compliment in just 22 minutes of playing time. "He was dynamite," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "I mean, his bounce, his step and blocked shots and defensive energy and rebounding, he's a force. ... I think he'll be in the rotation when it counts." Andersen denied four shots and came up with a pair of steals on the night.
Analysis: Andersen was a force in the paint on both ends of the floor, showing some bounce that he previously didn't while still trying to play with the ankle trouble. In that span, the Nuggets lost a pair of games to their potential playoff foe Oklahoma City. "I'm not going to comment on that because everybody says I'm stirring the pot," Karl said, "but we did have some injuries in those two games."Fantasy owners should regain their confidence in using the defensive-minded Birdman in all formats as a low-end option.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets forward Chris Anderson (ankle) is expected to play in Monday's game against Golden State. Andersen has missed the Nuggets' last five games because of an ankle injury. He has missed a total of 37 games this season thus far due to injuries.
Analysis: Even with Andersen expected to return against the Warriors, he should not be used in the majority of leagues. Keep an eye on his progress, but don't plan on having him active in most formats.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen (ankle) is expected to play in Monday's contest against the Warriors, according to the team's official website. Andersen has missed the Nuggets' last five games because of an ankle injury. He has missed a total of 37 games this season thus far due to injuries.
Analysis: Andersen is expected to be ready to go against Golden State on Monday after missing nearly a week with an ankle injury. However, the team is likely to be very cautious with seasoned veteran after he has missed a huge portion of the season with a variety of knee and ankle issues. Fantasy owners in daily formats may want to hold off from activating Andersen in the majority of formats until he proves he at 100 percent. Andersen can be considered a decent source for blocks and rebounds in deeper formats, when healthy.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen was held out of Saturday's game against the Timberwolves as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. Andersen has now missed five consecutive games after spraining his ankle against the Kings back on April 1. Coach George Karl told the team's official website he would be evaluated on a daily basis.
Analysis: Andersen remains sidelined with his injury, although he appears to be very close to being able to return. The Nuggets are likely cemented into the No. 5 seed out West, but the team wants Andersen to play in at least one game before the playoffs start. Fantasy owners in daily formats should continue to monitor his status moving forward. Andersen can be a decent source for blocks and rebounds in deeper formats, when healthy.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen missed a fourth straight game Friday against the Thunder because of an ankle sprain. He remains day to day with the issue.
Analysis: Andersen's game is solely based on protecting the paint, any ankle issue is larger than life for the Birdman. The Nuggets are gearing up for the playoffs, so there's no reason for the team to rush him back from the injury before he's ready. When healthy, Andersen is a marginal option in deeper formats for his defensive ability.
News: After missing a pair of games with a sprained ankle, Nuggets forward Chris Andersen was a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks. Though he made the trip to Dallas, it was determined that the big man was not fit to play because of the sprained ankle. "We're hopeful for Friday," coach George Karl said.
Analysis: Andersen has now missed a trio of games with the sprain, but he seemed close to a return on Wednesday. That logic tells us that he will likely suit up in Friday's contest at Oklahoma City, just as Karl is hopeful for. Still, ankle injuries have been an unpredictable problem this season, so Fantasy owners should prepare for the worst. Monitor the issue in the coming days just to be safe. When healthy, Andersen is a serviceable option in deeper formats for his defensive prowess and occasional offensive ability.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets forward Chris Andersen (ankle) made the trip to Dallas on Wednesday and is a game-time decision against the Mavericks. Andersen has missed the past two games with the injury.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in all leagues should not count on Andersen for much production the rest of this season even if he returns against Dallas. The Nuggets will likely be cautious with his minutes since they need him at 100 percent for the playoffs.
News: Denver forward Chris Andersen was inactive for Tuesday's 101-94 loss to Oklahoma City. He's dealing with an ankle injury and has missed two straight games now. The team plays again on Wednesday, but it is not known if Andersen will suit up.
Analysis: Andersen is a spark plug off the bench for Denver as he can grab rebounds in bunches. Unfortunately all he does is rebound and block shots, which limits his Fantasy value. Owners should keep him reserved for now, as it is more likely the Nuggets rest him for the playoffs than rush him back onto the court. When healthy, Andersen has minimal Fantasy value. Continue to monitor his progress as the season winds down.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets forward Chris Andersen (ankle) is out for Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City. Andersen also missed Sunday's game against the Lakers.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in all leagues should not count on Andersen for much production the rest of this season. Even if he does return, the Nuggets will likely be cautious with his minutes since they need him at 100 percent for the playoffs.
News: Nuggets coach George Karl announced Sunday afternoon that Chris Andersen (ankle) would not be available for his team's game at the Lakers. His status is listed as day-to-day going forward.
Analysis: Andersen sprained his ankle during Saturday's win over the Kings. X-rays taken came back negative, but he could very easily miss another game or two. Fantasy owners in weekly formats should not be looking to activate him in any format.
News: The Denver Post reports, Nuggets F Chris Andersen is unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Lakers because of an ankle injury. Andersen sprained his ankle during Saturday's win over the Kings. X-rays taken came back negative and he is officially being listed as day to day.
Analysis: While Andersen is being considered day to day, he is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Lakers. Still, the irdman is averaging 7.0 points, 3.2 blocks and 4.0 boards per game over his last five contests and has appeared in 26 games after missing most of the first two months of the season with a knee injury. Fantasy owners in daily formats should continue to monitor his status moving forward. Andersen can be considered a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats, when healthy for his ability to block shots and rebound.
News: Denver forward Chris Andersen left Friday's contest in Sacramento with an ankle injury. He shot 5 for 7 from the field in just 11 minutes of action, finishing with 10 points. He grabbed three boards and blocked three shots for the Nuggets before getting injury. The Nuggets would go on to beat the Kings, 99-90. Andersen's status for Sunday is uncertain.
Analysis: Andersen is great role player for Denver, but that doesn't translate into a great Fantasy player. The Birdman is averaging 7.0 points, 3.2 blocks and 4.0 boards per game over his last five contests. He's battled injuries all year, so owners should be wary of this latest issue. When Andersen is healthy, he should be used in only the deepest of category-based formats. It may be wise to find a better alternative for the final week of the season, just in case Andersen is limited.
News: After playing just five minutes against the Spurs, Nuggets F Chris Andersen turned in a huge performance in Friday's game against the Wizards. Andersen dropped a season-high 17 points against Washington while shooting a perfect 7 of 7 from the field. He went 3 of 4 at the free-throw line and also chipped in with 11 rebounds, five blocks, two steals and an assist in 21 minutes off the bench. "Andersen just got it going," Washington coach Flip Saunders said. "He dominated the game in the first quarter just with his defense."
Analysis: Andersen had his best offensive game of the season against the Wizards. Still, those types of performances don't come very often from the 32-year-old, who is more of a shot blocker and rebounding specialist. He really doesn't hold much value in most formats at this point of the season.
News: After some lackluster performances with limited playing time, Nuggets forward Chris Andersen has been back on his game over the last pair of chances. He scored 14 points in 14 minutes and grabbed four boards in Wednesday's game and followed it up similarly on Thursday. Andersen again saw 14 minutes of playing time, scoring 13 points on 3 of 6 shooting inside the paint to go along with a pair of rebounds and a block in a win over the Jazz. He even converted a season-high seven free-throws on 10 attempts.
Analysis: Andersen still lacks ideal playing time, but it will be hard to find on the Nuggets suddenly-deep roster since the Carmelo Antony trade went down. He still has all the talents that led to the Birdman nickname, but his high-flying antics have been grounded recently. However, the team has an unselfish rotation that lends more time to the player with the hot hand, and right now it's in his hands amongst the bigs. Still, his lack of an offensive game will limit him moving froward. Fantasy owners should begin to trust Andersen a bit more now that he's healthy and making the most of his time, but he remains a low-end option at best even when playing this well.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen was very efficient in Sunday's 116-108 loss to the Grizzlies. Andersen finished with four points and five rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench in the contest. He shot 2 of 3 from the field and also chipped in with two assists and a block. Andersen is averaging 12.8 minutes over his last five contests.
Analysis: Andersen is still trying to work his way back from offseason knee surgery and still may not be 100 percent. Coach George Karl continues to ease the 32-year-old back into action and restrict his minutes. While Andersen can be a decent source for blocks and rebounds, he will continue to have limited value until he can log consistent minutes on a nightly basis. Andersen doesn't hold much Fantasy value heading into Fantasy Week 17 (Feb. 14-20).
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen was able to play 20 minutes off the bench in Monday night's 108-103 loss to the Rockets. Andersen, who played only six minutes in his previous game, scored just one point in the contest and did not take attempt a field goal. His lone point came at the free-throw line and Andersen finished with six rebounds and a block in the contest.
Analysis: Andersen is still most likely not 100 percent but seems to be getting healthier by the day. Still, his minutes are still way too erratic and until he proves he can log meaningful minutes on a nightly basis, his value will remain limited. Andersen can be a decent source for blocks and rebounds when healthy, but he must prove that before he is inserted into starting lineups.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen (knee) was not listed on the team's official injury report for Monday's game against Houston in the team's media notes for the game. Andersen, who attempted to play in a back-to-back for the first time this season, was only able to log six minutes of game action in Saturday's 113-100 win over the Timberwolves.
Analysis: This means that Andersen is expected to play on, though he is still not 100 percent. Andersen has mild upside in deeper category leagues as a cheap source for boards and blocks when healthy and going well. Neither of those scenarios is currently true, however.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen, who attempted to play in a back-to-back for the first time this season, was only able to log six minutes of game action in Saturday's 113-100 win over the Timberwolves. Andersen asked to come in the second quarter and finished with four points and two rebounds.
Analysis: Andersen tried to extend his minutes on Saturday, but his knee began to tighten up on him in the second quarter. This means he still is not ready to log big minutes moving forward and will likely continue to play restricted minutes moving forward. He can be ignored in most Fantasy leagues heading into Week 16 (Feb. 7-13).
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen played through left knee and lower back pain on Wednesday night against Portland. Andersen played on Sunday against Philly after missing nine games, but he then missed Monday's game against the Nets. Andersen, who still cannot play in back-to-back contests due to his injuries, will sit on Friday against Utah but play on Saturday at Minnesota. On Wednesday, he scored two points and added one rebound over seven minutes.
Analysis: Andersen is a high energy bench player for the Nuggets and he means a lot to that team. Unfortunately for Fantasy owners, he doesn't do enough to really matter in Fantasy play. Andersen only has low-end Fantasy value for the deepest of leagues.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets PF Chris Andersen (knee, back) is expected to play Wednesday evening against the Trail Blazers. Andersen played Sunday, but sat Monday as management doesn't want him playing in back-to-back games yet.
Analysis: Andersen has only appeared in 15 games this season, and while he can be a decent source of rebounds and blocks on occasion, his Fantasy value when healthy lies only in deeper category-based formats.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen was held out of Monday's contest at New jersey as he continues to deal with both a knee and back injury. Andersen played for the first time in nine games during Sunday's loss to the Sixers, finishing with two points and six rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Andersen has only appeared in 15 games this season, and it appears the Nuggets have decided not to play him in the second game of back-to-backs. He can be a decent source for blocks in deeper leagues, when healthy, but his recent health issues make it hard to start him in most formats. Continue to stash the veteran forward on the bench if you have the room, until he proves he can stay healthy and productive.
News: After missing the previous nine games because of a back and knee injury, Nuggets forward Chris Andersen was back on the court for Sunday's contest against the Sixers. Anderson, who last appeared in a game back on Jan. 11, scored just two points in the 110-99 loss on 1 of 3 shooting from the field. He also chipped in with six rebounds and an assist in 13 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Andersen has only appeared in 15 games this season, as injuries have really taken a toll on the veteran forward. He can be a decent source for blocks in deeper leagues, when healthy, but his recent health issues make it hard to start him in most formats. Continue to leave him stashed heading into Fantasy Week 15 (Jan. 31-Feb. 6), until he proves he can stay healthy and productive.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen, who has been dealing with both knee and back injuries, is expected to make his return to the court on Sunday against the Sixers. Andersen hasn't appeared in a game since Jan. 11 against the Suns. He is averaging 5.0 points and 6.1 rebounds in 15 games this season.
Analysis: Andersen has only appeared in 15 games this season, as injuries have really taken a toll on the veteran forward. He can be a decent source for blocks in deeper leagues, when healthy, but his recent health issues makes it hard to start him in most formats. Continue to leave him stashed heading into Fantasy Week 15 (Jan. 31-Feb. 6) until he proves he can stay healthy and productive.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets coach George Karl expects PF Chris Andersen (knee, back) to return by Monday at the latest.
Analysis: When healthy, Andersen can be a sleeper source for blocks in deeper category leagues. However, he has been limited just 20 minutes per game this season and has been able to average just 5.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 15 appearances. Only stash him in very deep Fantasy formats for now.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets PF Chris Andersen (knee, back) is on the team's current road trip, but isn't ready to return to the court. Andersen has missed two weeks of action.
News: AOL FanHouse reports that, according to Nuggets coach George Karl, PF Chris Andersen isn't likely to play Friday against the Lakers. Andersen has been out a week with a knee injury.
Analysis: When healthy, Andersen can be a sleeper source for blocks in deeper category leagues. However, he has been limited just 20 minutes per game and has been able to average just 5.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 15 appearances. Clearly, he has not been 100 percent and is a player we recommend leaving out of active Fantasy lineups until he can prove healthy on the court.
News:The Denver Post reports that Nuggets F Chris Andersen is expected to be sidelined for a week to allow surgically right knee to get stronger. Andersen has played just eight minutes in the team's last two games.
News: Denver forward Chris Andersen returned to action on Tuesday night against Phoenix, but he didn't see much playing time. Andersen has been dealing with knee soreness all year and is just eight months removed from having surgery. He missed both his shots from the field and grabbed four rebounds. Coach George Karl rested most of his starters and banged up players down the stretch as the Nuggets beat the Suns, 132-98.
Analysis: Andersen sat out Sunday's game against the Hornets with soreness in his surgically repaired knee and wasn't need much on Tuesday. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor him as the week progresses. He may be limited in his minutes all year as he continues to recover from his knee surgery. When healthy, Andersen is a good source of rebounds and blocks in deeper category-based formats. But while he's averaging 2.8 points and 4.8 boards over his last four games, it'd probably be wise to keep him reserved until he starts to get going.
News: According to The Arizona Republic, Denver coach George Karl said forward Chris Andersen (knee) will try to play on Tuesday against Phoenix. Andersen sat out Sunday's game against the Hornets with soreness in his surgically repaired knee.
Analysis: Andersen will probably deal with soreness in his knee all year and may not be able to give 110 percent for a while. It's been just eight months since he had surgery on his knee. Fantasy owners can view Andersen as a good source of boards and blocks in deeper category-based formats, when healthy.
News: The Denver Post reports that, according to Nuggets coach George Karl, PF Chris Andersen (knee) could play Tuesday against the Suns. Andersen sat out Sunday against the Hornets with soreness in his surgically repaired joint.
Analysis: Andersen is likely to feel some pain in his knee now and again, as he's only about eight months removed from his operation. Andersen remains a decent source for blocks and rebounds in deeper category-based formats, when healthy.
News: Nuggets froward Chris Andersen did not play Sunday's game against the Hornets as he was ruled inactive for the contest. Andersen continues to be bothered by pain in his surgically repaired knee. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Andersen's knee source is nothing unusual and is very common for those who have major surgery. The team does not consider this a major issue and he should be able to get back in the lineup rather quickly. Andersen is a decent source for blocks and rebounds in deeper category-based formats, when healthy.
News: Nuggets coach George Karl said on Saturday that he does not expect Kenyon Martin or Chris Andersen to play on Sunday against the Hornets. Both players have recurring knee pain, reports AOL Fanhouse. Both Martin and Andersen missed the early part of the season after knee surgery.
Analysis: Andersen only played 18 minutes in his last game. The knee soreness is to be expected and is not considered a long-term problem. He's a high energy guy off the bench for Denver, but not really much of a Fantasy option.
News: Denver forward Chris Andersen recorded 11 rebounds in the Nuggets' 104-86 victory over Sacramento on Saturday night. It was Andersen's fourth game in a row with at least seven boards, a span that which includes three outings with double figures. The 6-foot-10 forward also scored seven points on 2 of 4 shooting and added three assists for Denver, which won its third straight game.
Analysis: Andersen has been stellar on the boards recently and is averaging 9.2 rebounds in his last five games. He missed eight games with a back injury, but since his return has tallied at least five rebounds in each of his six games played. Andersen played 20 minutes in Saturday's game and will likely be one of the first big men off the bench for the Nuggets. His Fantasy value is limited, however, to category-based and deeper formats.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen got the green light to play on Wednesday night in San Antonio despite being bothered with a back issue. Andersen saw 19 minutes on the floor and scored four points with seven rebounds. He shot 2 of 6 from the field and had a steal and two assists.
Analysis: The bird man is a high-energy player, but one who doesn't contribute a whole lot of minutes on the floor. Andersen missed the first 13 games of the year recovering from offseason surgery on his right knee. He was averaging 5.6 points and 3.8 rebounds over his first five appearances this season entering Wednesday and is not a player we recommend activating right now.
News: The Denver Post reports that Chauncey Billups (wrist), Kenyon Martin (knee) and Chris Andersen (back) were all cleared to play in Wednesday's game in San Antonio. Carmelo Anthony was granted a personal leave due to a death in his family.

News: Nuggets PF Chris Andersen agreed Friday that he should be able to return from a fractured bone in his lower back Wednesday at San Antonio, according to AOL FanHouse. "That sounds good,'' Andersen said.
Analysis: Andersen's return has already gotten pushed back some, so you shouldn't take this estimate as gospel. The 32-year-old has some low-end appeal in categorical leagues because of his shot-blocking ability, but he can remain on waivers in most Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets PF Chris Andersen, who has been out since Dec. 3 because of a fractured bone in his lower back, will miss at least another week, coach George Karl told AOL FanHouse. He will start running some later this week.
Analysis: The report speculates Andersen could return Dec. 22 at San Antonio, but his timetable could always get pushed back more. He has some low-end appeal in categorical leagues because of his shot-blocking ability, but he can remain on waivers in most Fantasy formats.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen has shown improvement from his back injury and will started cardo work on Saturday in his rehab, reports the Denver Post. Andersen is out for around another week.
Analysis: Andersen is unlikely to be useful at all in the upcoming Fantasy scoring period. Owners should keep him stashed in deeper formats for his anticipated return the following week. By then he should be back and near his full strength.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen was diagnosed with a fractured bone in his lower back Sunday and will not travel with the team during their upcoming four-game road trip. Andersen was injured Friday night in a nasty spill. Tests Sunday revealed a small fracture in his transverse process and Denver expects him to miss 10 to 14 days.
Analysis: Andersen missed the first 13 games of the year recovering from offseason surgery on his right knee and now has this injury to deal with. This is a big blow to the Nuggets front court and Fantasy owners rosters. Keep tabs on his progress to see when he might be able to return. Andersen is averaging 5.6 points and 3.8 rebounds over his last five games, but should only be stashed away in deeper formats until healthy enough to play again.
News: Denver Nuggets forward Chris Andersen did not play in Sunday's game against the Grizzlies because of a lower left back contusion suffered in Friday nights win over the Clippers. Andersen is also considered doubtful for Tuesdays game at Charlotte, according to NBA.com, but coach George Karl said as of Sunday afternoon he thinks Andersen will go on the Nuggets upcoming four-game road trip.
Analysis: Andersen missed the first 13 games of the year recovering from offseason surgery on his right knee. He is averaging 5.6 points and 3.8 rebounds over his last five games, hardly a reason to hold your breath waiting for him to return.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen left Friday's game against the Clippers with a back contusion. He suffered the injury while attempting to block a shot and landed awkwardly on the floor. Anderson did not return to the game and is listed as day to day. He finished with seven points to go along with six blocks and four rebounds.
Analysis: Andersen missed Denver's first 13 games as he was recovering from surgery on his right patella tendon in his knee, so this is the last thing the Nuggets and Fantasy owners wanted to see. It doesn't appear top be too serious, but owners should continue to monitor his status heading into Sunday's game against Memphis. Andersen has low-end Fantasy appeal, when healthy.
News: Nuggets forward Chris Andersen made his season debut on Monday and a few days later he's feeling good. "No swelling, nothing," Andersen told the Denver Post. He said all is fine with the knee after he had surgery on his right patella tendon in his knee during the offseason. It was originally thought he wouldn't return until December. He played 18 minutes in his debut, scoring seven points and grabbing three rebounds. "I wasn't able to do all of the conditioning stuff that I usually do in the summer like run Red Rocks, go hiking in the mountains at Vail, go mountain biking at Breckenridge. All of those things that I do I wasn't able to do this summer because of my knee," Andersen said. "So, it's just a matter of not overloading my leg and pushing it to an extreme where I might make it flare back up and be out of luck and have to sit out again because I'm pushing the workload."
Analysis: Andersen coming back earlier must have been a nice gift for the Nuggets. He's a solid role player for Denver off the bench and has potential to put up double figures in points and rebounds. Unfortunately his career numbers are just 5.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. While he's easing back into action, Fantasy owners in deeper category-based leagues should take notice and think about adding him. He's owned in just 10 percent of CBSSports.com leagues right now.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen made his season debut on Monday at Golden State. Andersen and the Nuggets originally had a target return date of Dec. 1 but he was able to come back early from his knee troubles. Andersen played 18 minutes in the victory over the Warriors. He looked good, too, scoring seven points on 3 for 3 shooting. Andersen grabbed three rebounds and had a steal as well. He also got to the free throw line three times.
Analysis: Andersen missed Denver's first 13 games as he was recovering from surgery on his right patella tendon in his knee. He came out firing on Monday, however, and looks like he may become a solid contributor for Denver. Fantasy owners in deeper leagues should pay close attention to Andersen's prowess on the court. If he continues to play well, he can gain Fantasy value in many formats.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen is going to practice on Sunday and if everything goes well, Andersen expects to make his season debut on Monday against Golden State, reports the team's official site. George Karl, however, indicated he is more likely to return on Friday against the Bulls.
Analysis: Andersen and the Nuggets originally had a target return date of Dec. 1, but if all goes well on Sunday, owners could have him for a full Week 5 (Nov. 22--28). That said, he's going to need to work himself back into game shape so expectations should be tempered for a while. Fantasy owners in deeper leagues should pay close attention to Andersen's progress. When healthy, Andersen is a nice Rotisserie option. Continue to stash him if you have room on your roster.
News: According to the Denver Post, Nuggets forward Chris Andersen (Knee) continues to progress from his offseason knee surgery. Coach George Karl said on Thursday that Andersen will step up his workouts significantly over the next few days. These workouts will help determine how soon Andersen can return, but Karl said it should be "sooner than later." Karl also said that when Andersen returns to action, its possible that the coach will start Al Harrington alongside Nene and have Andersen come off the bench.
Analysis: Andersen and the Nuggets originally had a target return date of Dec. 1, but if all goes well it may be sooner. He keeps progressing and the next few days will be a big indicator on a timetable for his return. Fantasy owners in deeper leagues should pay close attention to Andersen's progress. When healthy, Andersen is a nice Rotisserie option. Continue to stash him if you have room on your roster.
News: According to the Denver Post, Nuggets forward Chris Andersen is getting closer to his return and has now targeted a tentative return date around Thanksgiving. His progress will determine if he returns sooner or later for Denver, who are thin on the frontcourt. Hes anxious and ambitious to get back as quick as possible, Karl said. I think the next three days, hell probably (practice) some I dont know if hell run up the court in 5-on-5, but I think hell participate in all 5-on-0 and shooting activities and stuff like that. Were starting that process to get him play 5-on-5. Andersen hasn't played set this season as he's rehabbing from offseason knee surgery.
Analysis: The fact Andersen is targeting a sooner return date is good news, but once he does return Fantasy owners should give him time to show how good that knee is. He is a key role player off the bench for the Nuggets, and is expected to resume that role when he returns. When he's healthy, Andersen is a nice Rotisserie league option at the forward position. Keep him stashed if you have room or continue to scout him until he returns.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen, who continues to rehab from knee surgery this summer, recently underwent light one-on-one workouts, reports the Denver Post Saturday. Andersen is still targeting Dec. 1 as a possible return date.
Analysis: When he does get healthy enough to return to action, Andersen is expected to be stuck in a reserve role with the Nuggets. That said, he can still be valuable in Rotisserie leagues as a sneaky source of blocks. Keep him stashed or on waivers, at your own discretion, until he returns.
News: Nuggets coach George Karl said Tuesday he doesn't expect PF Chris Andersen back until Dec. 1. Andersen had offseason knee surgery and has missed the entire preseason.
Analysis: Andersen is stuck in a reserve role with the Nuggets, but he's still valuable in Rotisserie leagues as a sneaky source of blocks. In light of this news, he's not worth drafting outside of deeper leagues unless your league uses injury slots.

He shoots a high percentage from the field and is a great source for blocks, but will be an injury risk heading into the season. Fantasy owners should monitor his recovery during the preseason. He averaged 5.9 points per game and a career-high 6.4 rebounds this season, while ranking sixth in the NBA with 1.88 blocks. Andersen limped off the court and did not return, but X-rays were negative. He will be listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Clippers.
Analysis: Andersen was playing well before he got hurt against the Trail Blazers with five points, six rebounds and four blocks. This was the fourth time in his past seven games where he's had at least two blocks and the sixth time over that span where he's had at least five rebounds. Andersen is never going to post consistently dominant stats, but he is a good source of blocks and rebounds in category-based leagues. He has played well to close the season with Kenyon Martin (knee) out, so hopefully he can return soon. Keep an eye on his progress prior to Saturday's game.

His play had been solid initially once Kenyon Martin went down due to injury, but now it appears he can't be trusted in Fantasy leagues while playing at less than 100 percent. Look for signs that he can be healthy and productive again before activating him.

His status remains up in the air and there is no concrete timetable for a return, but it is now clear he won't be back until at least early April. News: Nuggets PF Chris Andersen, who missed Monday's practice with a sinus infection, not only managed to play Tuesday against the Warriors, but he put up starter's numbers in 21 minutes off the bench, finishing with 14 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.
Analysis: Andersen is one of the best blocks specialists in categorical leagues, and he's not a bad source of rebounds off the bench either. Still, his role makes him just a low-end option in Fantasy.
News: The Nuggets' official team site reports that Chris Andersen was held out of practice Monday due to a sinus infection. He is considered probable for Tuesday's game against Golden State, however.
Analysis: Andersen is far more vital to the Nuggets than he is to Fantasy owners. Despite a good amount of blocks and decent rebounding numbers, he remains a very low-end play in most Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets PF Chris Andersen, who usually gets about 20 minutes off the bench per game, made the most of his 22 minutes Wednesday at Minnesota. He scored a season-high 15 points, pulled down five rebounds and blocked three shots.
Analysis: Andersen could probably put up those kinds of numbers in a starting role, but in his current role, he's nothing more than a blocks specialist for categorical leagues.
News:Chris Andersen (knee) was activated by the Nuggets for Saturday's game against Chicago. He has been dealing with moderate patellar tendinitis in his right knee.
Analysis: Andersen plays a big energy role for the Nuggets, but he does very little for Fantasy owners. His blocks can be of value in deeper category-based league if you can afford to carry the rest of his weak totals.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen was not active on Friday at the Clippers as he deals with moderate patellar tendinitis in his right knee. He is considered questionable for Saturday's game against the Bulls.
Analysis: Andersen is all flash and little Fantasy value. He plays limited minutes in Denver and really only has limited Fantasy value at this time. If he cannot play on Saturday, consider Andersen an injury risk for Fantasy Week 5 (Nov. 23-29).
News: The Denver Nuggets say Chris "Birdman" Andersen is day-to-day with moderate patellar tendinitis in his right knee. Anderson has been sore, so he underwent an MRI on Wednesday in Denver, and Dr. Steve Traina said the test revealed no structural damage.
Analysis: Andersen is all flash and little Fantasy value. He plays limited minutes in Denver and really only has limited Fantasy value at this time.
News: Nuggets reserve PF Chris Andersen made the most of his 18 minutes Tuesday at Indiana, finishing with a season-high 11 rebounds and two blocks. He also scored six points.
Analysis: Last season, Andersen averaged 2.5 blocks in 20.6 minutes per game, emerging as a useful specialist in Rotisserie leagues. Unfortunately, his upside is limited given his sporadic playing time. He remains a low-end option in Fantasy.
News: Nuggets F Kenyon Martin recorded a double-double in Wednesday's season opener against Utah. He had 16 points and a team-high 11 rebounds while also adding a block and an assist. Starting center Nene fouled out after 33 minutes. He had 16 points and 6 rebounds with 2 steals and 2 blocks before fouling out. Chris Andersen had just 6 rebounds and 2 points in 23 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Nene was solid outside of the fouls, but we'd like to see more than six rebounds out of him in 33 minutes. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a low-end No. 1 center while healthy after his strong breakout campaign last fall. Andersen continues to play behind both Martin and Nene and while he's a great energy guy for the Nuggets his numbers aren't consistent enough to rely upon as a Fantasy starter.
News: Nuggets point guard Chauncey Billups and power forward Chris Andersen, both principals in Denver's playoff run, were given the night off for the team's preseason opener by coach George Karl and watched the game from the bench.
Analysis: Andersen returned from exile to become a quality Fantasy option by the end of last season with the Nuggets. He has become a serviceable reserve in Head-to-Head leagues and a quality option in Rotisserie formats based on his rebounding and shot blocking. Last year, Andersen appeared in 71 games and averaged 6.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. He is never going to be a dominant offensive player, but if you're looking for a good big man to give you help in boards and blocks.
News:Chris Andersen has reached a five-year deal to continue his high-flying, shot-blocking act with the Denver Nuggets. Andersen's attorney, Mark Bryant, confirmed the agreement on Wednesday, saying it could be signed later in the day.
Analysis: The energetic forward known for his defensive disruption around the basket provided a spark off the bench as the Nuggets' made a run to the Western Conference finals, where they fell to the Los Angeles Lakers. His Fantasy appeal is mostly derived from his excellent shot-blocking ability (2.5 per game last season). He won't help much in points and is only going to provide around six boards per game.
News: Denver forward Chris Andersen wants to return to Denver next season. He is an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Asked what's the next step for these Nuggets, Andersen cracked, "Re-signing me." He suspects the team is ready for a title run in 2010 after a season spent figuring out schemes and styles on the fly. "We were one series away from getting to the big show and I think next year we would be very capable, if we had the same squad, of making our way there and possibly even winning the championship," Andersen said. Re-signing Birdman is the Nuggets' top offseason priority.
Analysis: Andersen had a successful season and playoff run for the Nuggets after coming back from a drug suspension. We like Andersen as a low-end Fantasy option in deep formats in head-to-head leagues, and he's worth starting in rotisserie formats because of his ability to rebound and block shots. We'll see where he ends up, but a return to the Nuggets is likely.
News: Denver F Chris Andersen returned from a bout of food poisoning that kept him out of Game 4 but he had a quiet game in Game 5, failing to score in 14 minutes. The Nuggets defeated the Mavericks to win the series 4-1 and advance to the Western Conference finals.
Analysis: Andersen should be 100 percent by the time they find out whether they'll face the Lakers or Rockets in the finals of the Western Conference. He averaged 6.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season and will enter next year as a low-end Fantasy forward.
News: Chris "Birdman" Andersen says he's fully recovered from a bout of food poisoning that kept him out of the Denver Nuggets' 119-117 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Andersen said he ate something bad at the team hotel Monday and spent the game in the locker room suffering from severe abdominal cramps and vomiting.
Analysis: The Nuggets sorely missed their energetic center as Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki scored a series-high 44 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to help the Mavericks stave off elimination. Andersen said he's ready to play in Game 5 Wednesday night in Denver. He averaged 6.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season and will enter next year as a low-end Fantasy forward.
News: The "Birdman" was missing for Denver. Chris Andersen missed Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals Monday night in Dallas because of a stomach flu. Andersen was on the court for pregame introductions, but the Nuggets' 6-foot-10 post player then went back to the locker room and wasn't seen on the bench again. When the team returned after halftime, Andersen wasn't with them and the Nuggets said he wouldn't play. In Game 3 on Saturday, Anderson fouled out in only 11 minutes. He had eight points and nine rebounds while playing 25 minutes in Game 2.
Analysis: Andersen has played an integral part of the playoff run thus far. He averaged 6.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season and will enter next year as a low-end Fantasy forward.
News: Denver forward Chris Andersen blocked a career-best eight shots Thursday against the Jazz. He also added seven points and 10 rebounds.
Analysis: Andersen is capable of nights like this, and he was close to a triple-double with his performance. If he scored more and reached double figures in rebounds on a more consistent basis, that would help his Fantasy value. For now, consider him a No. 4 option in deep leagues.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen had 12 points with three rebounds in Monday's game in Phoenix. He shot 5-for-6 from the field in 26 minutes off the bench. He has scored at least 10 points in three of his last four games.
Analysis: Andersen is hard to pin down. He has four points and two rebounds one night then a game like this the next. He is getting around 20 minutes per game off the bench and is a decent, cheap source for blocks and boards in category-based leagues and a possible stopgap in deeper leagues for weeks when the Nuggets face favorable matchups.
News:Chris Andersen had a career-high 18 points to go along with 11 rebounds and six blocks as the Nuggets beat the Wizards 116-105 Friday night. Andersen is averaging 9.8 points and 7.6 rebounds over his last five games.
Analysis: Andersen is hard to pin down. He has four points and two rebounds one night then a game like this the next. He is getting around 20 minutes per game off the bench, but Fantasy owners should expect something in the middle of the two extremes out of him. He's a decent, cheap source for blocks and boards in category based leagues and a possible stopgap in deeper leagues for weeks when the Nuggets face favorable matchups.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen continues to block shots and get rebounds, but is struggling a bit to score near his season average. That trend continued on Monday as he went 1-for-4 from the field for two points. He has seven rebounds and blocked two shots in the game.
Analysis: Andersen is worth using only in Rotisserie leagues because he is a shot-blocking machine. He doesn't do enough in the other categories to be considered anything other than a low-end option.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen has become a monster on the boards this past week. In his last three games, Andersen has grabbed exactly 12 rebounds as he is averaging 9.4 rebounds over his last five games. He scored only four points on Sunday against the Pacers, adding three blocks.
Analysis: Andersen went nuts against the Lakers on Friday, scoring 11 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking an impressive seven shots. He is a blocks machine, averaging 4.4 per game which makes him useful in Rotisserie leagues. He is a player worth looking at in deeper leagues.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen overcame injuries to his wrist and hip to play in Wednesday's game at Philadelphia. The Nuggets won the game as Andersen scored two points in 25 minutes. He added eight rebounds and four blocks.
Analysis: Andersen isn't a big scorer for the Nuggets but Wednesday definitely showcased his value. He's averaging 2.5 blocks and four boards per game in his last five contests in minimal minutes. That would be worth using in deeper leagues.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen had to leave Tuesday's game against Miami after he was hard fouled by Shawn Marion before halftime. Andersen smacked the floor hard on the foul and sprained his left wrist and bruised his left hip. X-rays were negative but he could not play in Wednesday's game at Orlando. He'll likely return Feb. 18 at Philadelphia after the All-Star break.
Analysis: Andersen scored seven points in 13 minutes on Tuesday and is averaging 10 points, four boards and 2.2 blocks per night over his last five games. That would be worth using in deeper leagues. He'll go back to that once he's healthy again.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen had to leave Tuesday's game against Miami after he was hard fouled by Shawn Marion before halftime. Andersen smacked the floor hard on the foul and sprained his left wrist and bruised his left hip. X-rays were negative.
Analysis: Andersen is now a risky play for daily Fantasy league owners for Wednesday at Orlando. That is the final game for Denver before the All-Star break so he'll have some time to rest after Wednesday. Andersen scored seven points in 13 minutes on Tuesday and is averaging 10 points, four boards and 2.2 blocks per night over his last five games. That would be worth using in deeper leagues. He'll go back to that once he's healthy again.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen only played 15 minutes in a win over San Antonio on Tuesday night but managed to score 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Andersen added four rebounds and four blocked shots.
Analysis: Andersen is a blocks specialist and other than a game in which he had zero has at least three in each of his last five games. That comes with eight points per night and five boards and makes him a nice option for deeper leagues.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds on Wednesday in a win at Memphis. Andersen played 26 minutes in the game and shot 2-of-3 from the field. He swatted five shots.
Analysis: Andersen is blocking three shots per game over his last five and that comes with seven points and six boards. Those numbers aren't going to wow anyone but do make him a decent low-end forward for deeper formats when the matchups are good.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen scored a season-high 15 points on Tuesday night in a win over Dallas and added 10 rebounds for a double-double. It was just his second double-double of the season. He shot 7-of-8 from the field with two blocks and three steals.
Analysis: Andersen is still averaging just seven points, six boards and two blocks per game over his last five. He's not really worth owning in anything but the deepest of leagues and Tuesday's game was an aberration and nothing that should become a trend.
News: Nene was held out Monday at Atlanta with a stiff neck following a fall in Sunday's win at New York. He was not in uniform and Karl said he didn't know when the forward-center would return. Chris Andersen started at center for the Nuggets and played 32 minutes. He had three points and six rebounds.
Analysis: It sounds like Andersen could start a few games with Nene dealing with this neck injury. In deeper leagues, it might be a good idea to add Andersen since he's a good source of rebounds and can get to 10 points on occasion. Consider Andersen a low-end No. 2 Fantasy center as long as Nene is out.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that F Chris Andersen continues to provide the Nuggets with a boost since his Nov. 27 return after missing nearly three weeks with a broken rib. Andersen totaled six rebounds and four blocks in 24 minutes off the bench Wednesday against Minnesota. Andersen is averaging 2.38 blocks this season, and is helping make up for departure of Marcus Camby, the NBA leader in blocked shots the past three seasons.
Analysis: Since his first game this season on Oct. 10 against Minnesota, Andersen is yet to reach double-digits in scoring. He's getting the minutes but hasn't been pulling down enough rebounds to be relevant in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers until he starts getting more involved on the boards and at the rim.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Chris Andersen drilled the first three-pointer of his career Thursday against San Antonio. Andersen, in his seventh season, had been 0-of-10.
Analysis: Andersen is allowed by Nuggets coach George Karl to shoot the three-pointer this season when open. He made one during the preseason. But Thursday's make was just Andersen's second attempt of the regular season. He still has not produced at a Fantasy worthy level this season and should be left on the waiver wire in most leagues.
News: PF Chris Andersen scored six points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Nuggets against the Hornets on Thursday in his return after missing nine games because of fractured ribs. The team had early said he'd come back Saturday.
Analysis: Andersen hasn't gotten much playing time so far this season, and until that trend changes, he should remain on waivers in Fantasy. He likely won't have many more games like Thursday's.
News: Nuggets PF Chris Andersen, who missed his ninth game following a rib injury Wednesday at the Clippers, is expected back in the lineup Saturday night at Minnesota.
Analysis: Who cares? Andersen wasn't getting much playing time before the injury and should remain on waivers in Fantasy until he becomes a consistent factor.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen shot baskets for 30 minutes on Saturday, but was not able to play Sunday against Chicago. He has been out since fracturing a rib against Memphis on Nov. 9.
Analysis: Andersen wasn't getting much playing time before the injury and should be kept reserved in Fantasy until he becomes a consistent factor.

Analysis: Andersen wasn't getting much playing time before the injury and should be kept reserved in Fantasy until he becomes a consistent factor.

Analysis: Andersen wasn't getting much playing time before the injury and should be kept reserved in Fantasy until he becomes a consistent factor.
News: Nuggets PF Chris Andersen (ribs) did not return to action Friday against the Celtics. He has missed the last three games and remains questionable heading into Sunday against the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Andersen wasn't getting much playing time before the injury and should be kept reserved in Fantasy until he becomes a consistent factor.
News: Denver PF Chris Andersen (fractured rib) could not return in Thursday's game against the Cavaliers. He injured himself last Sunday and has missed two games. His status is considered day to day for the moment.
Analysis: Andersen has been seeing limited minutes early on this season and the injury makes him that much less appealing of a player to be owned in Fantasy right now.
News: Nuggets F Chris Andersen suffered a fractured rib Sunday against Memphis and could not return for Tuesday's game against the Bobcats. His status is considered day to day for the moment.
Analysis: Andersen has been seeing limited minutes early on this season and the injury makes him that much less appealing of a player to be owned in Fantasy right now.

News: The Denver Post reports that Chris Andersen (flu) returned to practice Monday. "He was good today," head coach George Karl said. "It looked like he was a little under the weather, but he had a tough battle with the flu, but I think he'll be ready by Wednesday."
Analysis: Carmelo Anthony will be serving a team-imposed two-game suspension in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 2) as punishment for an arrest back in April. Dahntay Jones is expected to start in his place, but his upside is very limited in Fantasy. Allen Iverson should play in the opener, but has been at far less than 100 percent in the preseason, averaging just 5.3 points in three appearances. The Nuggets play three games, which is good news this week for Denver's second and third-tier players considering the situations of Anthony and Iverson. Not to mention the fact that the Nuggets don't have a legitimate rebounding threat with Marcus Camby now a Clipper.
News:Carmelo Anthony will be serving a team-imposed two-game suspension in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 2) as punishment for an arrest back in April. Dahntay Jones is expected to start in his place, but his upside is very limited in Fantasy. Allen Iverson should play in the opener, but has been at far less than 100 percent in the preseason, averaging just 5.3 points in three appearances. The Nuggets play three games, which is good news this week for Denver's second-tier players considering the situations of Anthony and Iverson.
Analysis: Kenyon Martin will start at power forward and Anthony Carter should start at the point. With 'Melo out for the first two games, it means more minutes and more touches for J.R. Smith and Linas Kleiza. Both have some appeal as stopgap options this week in deeper formats. Chris Andersen, Renaldo Balkman and Juwan Howard are players to monitor early this season. They could become nice additions in Rotisserie leagues for rebounding help due to the absence of Marcus Camby in Denver this season. They aren't recommended starts yet, though. Nene will begin the season as the team's starting center, but he'll have to prove he can be productive before he ascends from the ranks of No. 3 centers in Fantasy.
News: The Denver Nuggets brought back Chris Andersen, signing the frontcourt player known as "Birdman" on Thursday. Andersen was reinstated by the NBA in early March after being kicked out on Jan. 27, 2006, for violating the league's drug policy.
Analysis: The 6-foot-10, 228-pound Andersen played in five games for the New Orleans Hornets last season, averaging 1.2 points and 1.8 rebounds a game. He is a high-energy player, something the Nuggets could use after losing Eduardo Najera to free agency and trading center Marcus Camby to the Los Angeles Clippers. We don't expect him to play enough to be a factor in Fantasy.
News:Chris Andersen signed a one-year contract with the Hornets and will return to the NBA after a two-year absence. He recently completed a two-year ban for substance abuse.
Analysis: Andersen averaged 7.7 points and 6.1 rebounds in his best season in 2004 and is not expected to play a big enough role to matter in most Fantasy formats. Leave him on the waiver until further notice.
