Bogans ends scoring drought

News: Nets guard Keith Bogans ended his nine-game scoring drought during Wednesday's contest against the Knicks. Bogans, who had been shutout in each of his previous nine games, poured in a season-high 11 points in the 100-86 defeat. He made four of his six field-goal attempts and also added one assist to his stat line while logging 21 minutes of game action.
Analysis: While Bogans sees a few minutes here and there when starters need a quick breather, he usually sees the bulk of his time in garbage time. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Bogans in all formats at this point in the year.

Bogans takes positive step

News: Brooklyn guard Keith Bogans finished with nine points -- all on 3-pointers -- during the Nets' 107-96 loss to Minnesota on Monday night. Bogans, who earned the start in place of injured forward Gerald Wallace, went 3 for 4 from downtown and 3 for 5 from the field overall in 14 minutes. "It felt good," Bogans told the New York Daily News. "It felt good to have those shots fall. That’s what I do ... I’m a spot-up 3-point shooter. That’s all I really work on. So I feel like every shot I take is going to go in."
Analysis: Bogans played just 28 seconds in the Nets' season opener, but was thrust into a larger role Monday with Wallace sidelined. The increase in playing time was another positive step in his return from a devastating ankle injury that ended his season last year in February. "Yeah, I feel good," Bogans said. "But as far as the way I was playing, getting back in the flow of things, I felt good. It felt good to be out there." Bogans isn't expected to earn many minutes once Wallace returns and is still not a worthwhile Fantasy option in the majority of formats.

Bogans appears briefly

News: Brooklyn guard Keith Bogans appeared in the team’s season opener Saturday against the Raptors, despite dealing with a knee and tailbone injury. Bogans played just 28 seconds in the game, a 107-100 win.
Analysis: Bogans will provide some depth on the wings when healthy, but he is unlikely to make much of an impact. Consider Bogans just a low-end Fantasy reserve in deeper formats.

Bogans likely not ready for season

News: Brooklyn guard Keith Bogans continues to deal with knee and tailbone injuries as the regular season draws nearer. Bogans has continued to miss practice and may not be available when the Nets open the season Thursday against the Knicks.
Analysis: Bogans is just roster depth for Brooklyn at this point in his career. He is not a candidate for ownership in most Fantasy formats and can likely be ignored.

Bogans re-signs with Nets

News: Free agent guard Keith Bogans agreed to a deal with the Nets, the team he spent part of the 2011-12 season with before a fractured left ankle injury ended his season early. He is expected to be healthy in time for the start of the season.
Analysis: Bogans appeared in just five games for the Nets last season, and will likely serve as just depth off the bench. He has no value on Draft Day.

Bogans needs ankle surgery

News: The Bergen Record reports Nets guard Keith Bogans suffered a fractured left ankle Wednesday against the Pistons and will need surgery. He also suffered a "complete tear of the deltoid ligament" and will have surgery Monday. According to an ESPN report, Bogans is done for the year.
Analysis: Literally, it's a tough break for Bogans, who played five games with the Nets before sustaining this injury. Bogans was hardly a blip on the Fantasy radar since he was mostly in the lineup because of his defensive presence.

Bogans banged up in loss

News: New Jersey guard Keith Bogans scored just three points in his 21 minutes of action on Wednesday night versus Detroit. According to the Bergen Record, Bogans left the Nets locker room on crutches and had a protective boot on his left foot. "It doesn't look good," coach Avery Johnson said. Bogans couldn't put any weight on his foot and is going to have an MRI done on Thursday. He added a steal, two assists and a rebound in New Jersey's 99-92 loss.
Analysis: Bogans is more of a defensive specialist, so his Fantasy value is extremely low. With this injury looking pretty serious his stock is plummeting. Owners should not have Bogans on the roster at this time.

Bogans earns first start with Nets

News: New Jersey SG Keith Bogans made his first start for his new team on Monday night against Chicago, his former team. Bogans entered Monday's game having played just three games with the Nets. In those three games, Bogans has averaged 3.7 points and 2.3 rebounds over 17.3 minutes per game.
Analysis: Bogans was a starter for the Bulls in 2010-11, but he’ll likely be mostly a bench contributor for the Nets. He'll start at times, but isn't expected to see heavy minutes. Bogans is a defensive specialist and could see a fair amount of minutes for New Jersey once he learns the system. However, we aren't expecting him to be a major contributor from a Fantasy standpoint.

Nets lean on Bogans in debut

News: Just hours after announcing he had been signed, the Nets needed G Keith Bogans’ help in their game against the Pistons on Wednesday. Bogans didn’t provide much production, but he gave them valuable minutes on a night when they didn’t have many bodies around to soak them up, as the Nets only had eight healthy players for the game. Bogans played 17 minutes in his Nets debut, scoring just two points on 1 of 5 shooting from the field while grabbing just a single rebound. He did not have any assists, but he also did not turn the ball over at all, managing the game while being forced into emergency action in a 99-97 victory.
Analysis: Bogans was a starter for the Bulls in 2010-11, but he’ll likely continue to come off the bench for the Nets. He is a defensive specialist and could see a fair amount of minutes for New Jersey once he learns the system. However, we aren't expecting him to be a major contributor from a Fantasy standpoint.

Bogans set to make his debut

News: Newly-acquired Nets G Keith Bogans is expected to play on Wednesday against the Pistons, despite having just signed the same day. The Nets have been hit with a rash of injuries and only have eight healthy players, forcing Bogans into early action. Nets coach Avery Johnson said he isn’t worried about the veteran’s ability to get into the flow with his new team. “He’s been on some really good teams,” Johnson told NBA.com. “Whether it’s San Antonio, the Bulls, Orlando; he’s been around the block … He’s seen a lot of different situations.”
Analysis: Bogans was a starter for the Bulls in 2010-11, but he didn't survive the cut list in December. He is a defensive specialist and could see a fair amount of minutes for New Jersey once he learns the system. However, we aren't expecting him to be a major contributor from a Fantasy standpoint.

News: The Nets announced Wednesday that they signed Keith Bogans and waived Larry Owens.
