News: Clippers guard Willie Green started his third game in a row Tuesday against the Mavericks, as Chauncey Billups continues to deal with a hamstring injury. Green scored just five points in the game, on 2 of 6 shooting in 17 minutes. He added two rebounds, one assist and two steals, in a 109-102 loss.
Analysis: Green pretty much only plays when Billups is out, as he logged just one minute total in three games prior to Billups' injury. Green is averaging 5.9 points per game on the season while playing just 16.5 minutes. Regardless of Billups' health status, Green should be ignored in most Fantasy formats down the stretch.
News: Clippers guard Willie Green, who tweaked his knee Wednesday, returned to action Friday night against the Raptors. Green was held to just two points and a steal while logging 16 minutes of game action in a 98-73 defeat.
Analysis: Green is only averaging 4.4 points over the last five games and just 6.5 per game on the season as a whole. Though he remains in the starting lineup, the 31-year-old is a marginal contributor and should return to the bench once Chauncey Billups is healthy. Green should not be considered as a worthwhile Fantasy option moving forward.
News: Clippers guard Willie Green played 16 minutes Wednesday against the Timberwolves, but his impact was not felt at all in the box score. Green was held scoreless on three field-goal attempts, and accrued no other statistics in the course of a 96-90 win. This is the first time in 44 games that Green has been held scoreless this season.
Analysis: Green remains in the starting lineup for the Clippers, but is clearly not a big contributor. He is averaging just 5.0 points per game over the last five games, and just 6.5 per game on the season as a whole. Green is likely not long for the starting lineup once Chauncey Billups gets healthy, and will likely see his role shrink further once he returns. At this point, Fantasy owners in all but the deepest formats should be ignoring Green.
News: Clippers guard Willie Green did little on Monday during a loss at Golden State. Green scored just five points on 2 of 5 from the field over 14 minutes as a starter. He grabbed one rebound and added one assist and one steal in the performance.
Analysis: Green has only scored in double figures once in his last five games and is averaging 8.2 points per game over that span. That is actually better than his season's average and that makes him a very low-end option in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Clippers guard Willie Green turned in his best offensive performance of the season during Tuesday's contest against the Rockets. Green poured in a season-high 15 points in the 117-109 win on 5 of 6 shooting from the field. He made two of his three attempts from downtown and also added one steal and one rebound to his stat line while logging 17 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Green was red-hot Tuesday night as he only missed one shot the entire game. While the 31-year-old continues to see starts at shooting guard, Green's production this season has been very inconsistent. With season averages of 6.2 points and 1.5 rebounds, Green should not be owned in the majority of formats at this point in the year.
News: Clippers guard Willie Green scored in double figures for the second time in the last three games on Friday against the Jazz. He finished with 10 points in the 116-114 win. He went 4 for 6 from the field, including 2 for 3 from downtown, while playing 16 minutes. Green also posted an assist and a steal in the victory.
Analysis: Green continues to start at the two-guard for Los Angeles but his production has been too inconsistent to trust in Fantasy. Continue to ignore the 31-year-old in all but the deepest of formats at this point.
News: Despite starting the first 14 games of the season, Clippers guard Willie Green found himself stuck to the bench in Chauncey Billups return to the floor Wednesday against the Timberwolves. Green did not play a single second in a 101-95 win.
Analysis: Green was expected to be removed from the starting lineup with Billups back, but it was a surprise to see him get no minutes at all. Green was not playing particularly well prior to the demotion, scoring just 6.4 points in 18.4 minutes per game, and at this point Fantasy owners should not be expecting much from him.
News: The Clippers are expecting to get back the services of Chauncey Billups in early December and that means somebody has to lose time. That man appears to be guard Willie Green, reports CBSSports.com.
Analysis: Green is starting for the Clippers but still averages just 18.5 minutes per game with six points and one assist. He hits some threes, but Green has low-end Fantasy value anyway.
News: Clippers guard Willie Green has remained in the starting lineup through the first six games of the season, but his offensive impact has been limited. Green is averaging just 7.3 points after putting up seven on 3 of 6 shooting in a 103-90 win over the Trail Blazers Thursday.
Analysis: Green is receiving just 19.2 minutes per game, as he starts but rarely sees the floor during crunch time. We do not expect to see Greens role improve on the team, so while he is shooting very well from the field (53.1 percent), he is unlikely to see his production improve. Consider Green just a low-end Fantasy option for deeper formats.
News: The Clippers acquired guard Willie Green from the Hawks in the offseason, in exchange for the draft rights to Sofoklis Schortsanitis. Green averaged 7.6 points per game last season in 53 contests with Atlanta.
Analysis: Green shot a career high 44.2 percent from three-point range last year, so the Clippers are hoping he can provide some floor-stretching off the bench. The Clippers are deep on the wings, so Green will likely be left fighting for scraps of playing time, making him unworthy of targeting on Draft Day.
News: Hawks guard Willie Green will not travel with the team for Mondays game against the Raptors in Toronto, as he will stay with his wife, who is expecting the birth of their child. Green was with the team on Sunday against the Raptors, and he scored 14 points in just 20 minutes off the bench, as the Hawks fell, 102-86. Green added three rebounds, and shot 4 of 8 from the field, 2 of 4 from three-point range and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line.
Analysis: The Hawks are one just a one-game road trip on Monday before finishing up the season with five straight games at home. Green has not been consistent this season, and he is averaging just 7.5 points per game in the month of April, so Fantasy owners should not consider him much more than a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats.
News: Hawks guard Willie Green has been a non-factor since his return from injury last week, and he bottomed out on Wednesday against the Bulls, shooting 1 of 6 from the field for four points in 21 minutes as the Hawks lost, 98-77.
Analysis: Green has been a source of some instant offense at times for the Hawks this season, however he is now shooting 29.4 percent from the field since returning from the injury. Given his role and production, Green has no place on any Fantasy rosters right now.
News: Hawks guard Willie Green made his first appearance of the month of March on Wednesday against the Cavs, after missing the teams previous 11 games with a variety of injuries. Green lead the team with 15 minutes off the bench, however he was not a big factor in the game, as he scored just three points on 1 of 2 shooting in the game.
Analysis: Green flirted with becoming a double-digit scorer in the month of February prior to the injury, averaging 9.6 points per game. He has been a solid reserve for the team, however this injury has derailed his season somewhat. At this point, Fantasy owners should monitor his playing time, however Green is unlikely to become a viable Fantasy option even when healthy.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Hawks guard Willie Green is probable for Wednesday's game against Cleveland. Green is dealing with a hamstring injury. He was activated for Monday night's contest against the Celtics, but he did not play. Green has not played since Feb. 29 due to back and hamstring injuries.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor what happens with Green, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Ignore him in most formats even if he's able to play.
News: Hawks guard Willie Green was activated for Monday night's contest against the Celtics. Green, who has not played since Feb. 29 due to a back and hamstring injury, did not play in the 79-76 loss.
Analysis: Green said he is about 80 percent healthy at the moment, but wants to be available with the Hawks being so shorthanded. He is averaging 7.7 points and 1.6 boards per game on the year for the Hawks but was seeing a spike in minutes prior to getting hurt. While be can be a decent source for cheap points and 3s, wait until he proves to be healthy before getting him active.
News: Atlanta guard Willie Green missed Sunday's game at Cleveland because of back and hamstring injuries, according to NBA.com Green has not played at all this month and last appeared on the court Feb. 29 against Golden State when he managed just four points.
Analysis: Green is still being considered day to day, but he has now missed 10 consecutive games because of the injuries. The 30-year-old has been sporadic during his first season with the Hawks and is averaging just 7.7 points per game. Continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats.
News: Atlanta guard Willie Green has missed nine straight games for the Hawks with back and hamstring issues. The team is considering him day to day.
Analysis: Green had been getting more playing time before he got injured, so this definitely derailed him. Fantasy owners shouldn't be too concerned though as Green holds minimal Fantasy value.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Hawks guard Willie Green will miss another game Wednesday against the Clippers because of back and hamstring injuries. It will be the eighth straight game he misses.
Analysis: Green was seeing a spike in production before getting hurt. However, that's nothing new for the veteran guard. He usually has some decent spurts, but then he fades back into oblivion. Green still has marginal Fantasy appeal when active.
News: The Hawks were once again without guard Willie Green for Tuesday's game at Denver. Green continues to miss time with multiple injuries to his back, hamstring and groin. Green has now missed seven straight games.
Analysis: The Hawks don't have a target return date for Green, who is going to have to be considered day to day until Atlanta says differently. The good news for Fantasy owners is that the injuries to Green aren't hurting your team. Green should not be owned in most Fantasy formats.
News: Hawks guard Willie Green sat yet again on Sunday, missing his sixth straight game as his team took on the Kings. Before the game, Green elaborated on the extent of his injuries to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Its like a combination of ligaments that attach are inflamed and sore, he said, pointing to his hamstring. Its like a hamstring, groin and something else. It all stems from my back. Its a matter of it calming down and the soreness getting out. Once that happens, Im good to go. Im just trying to wait patiently and not cause any more damage.
Analysis: At this point, it sounds like a number of issues are causing Green to have to sit, making his recovery more complicated than just a back injury. Continue to monitor his status moving forward, however the 30-year old doesn't have much Fantasy value right now even when healthy, so he is not worth picking up in any leagues.
News: As expected, Hawks guard Willie Green did not play in Friday night's contest against the Pistons due to a back injury. Green has now missed five straight games with his injury and is being considered day to day.
Analysis: Green remains sidelined with his back injury and no one knows for sure when he will be able to get back on the court. However, the 30-year-old doesn't have Fantasy value at this point in the season anyway, so leave him on the waiver wire, even when he gets healthy.
News: The Hawks report Friday that guard Willie Green will be out for Friday's game at Detroit. Green has been dealing with a back injury and has been out the past four games prior to facing the Pistons.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor what happens with Green, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Ignore him in most formats even if he's able to play.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Hawks guard Willie Green (back) said he wont play in Miami on Wednesday. Green did not play Tuesday night at Indiana and is considered day to day. We are shooting for Detroit," Green said of Friday's game. "It feels good but I want to get a couple workouts in before I play.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should continue to keep Green reserved in all leagues. He has minimal Fantasy value when healthy in the majority of formats.
News: Hawks guard Willie Green (back) went through shootaround Tuesday, but he remains out of commission for Tuesday's game at Indiana. Green is day to day for the Hawks.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor what happens with Green, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Ignore him in most formats even if he's able to play against the Pacers.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Hawks guard Willie Green (back) will be listed as questionable for Tuesday's game at Indiana. Green was injured Wednesday and has not played since.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor what happens with Green, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Ignore him in most formats even if he's able to play against the Pacers.
News: Atlanta guard Willie Green sat out another game on Saturday as he continues to deal with back spasms. He was injured on Wednesday and has not played since.
Analysis: Green's averaging 7.7 points and 1.6 boards per game on the year for the Hawks. Those numbers aren't anything to get excited about though, which is why Green should be left on waivers in all Fantasy formats, even when healthy.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Hawks will be without guard Willie Green on Friday night against Milwaukee. Green is suffering from back spasms after getting hurt against the Warriors on Wednesday.
Analysis: Green has minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues when healthy. Keep an eye on his status, but he should not be used in most formats even when he is 100 percent.
News: Hawks guard Willie Green received treatment for back spasms on Thursday and has been listed as questionable for the teams game against the Bucks on Friday. The 30-year old has yet to miss a game for Atlanta this season.
Analysis: Green has been providing a solid spark off the bench, averaging 7.7 points in just 17.2 minutes per game for the Hawks. He is averaging 11.4 points per game over his last five, so the injury comes at a bad time for Green, who seems to be peaking at this point in the season. Still, even when healthy, Green remains just a low-end reserve Fantasy option in deeper formats.
News: Hawks guard Willie Green had another solid outing off the bench on Saturday night. He scored 17 points on a 7-for-9 shooting display and nailed his lone foul shot. Green hit two 3-pointers as well in his 23 minutes. The Hawks were getting blown out by the Trail Blazers, which led to plenty of court time for Green. He chipped in one assist in the 97-77 loss.
Analysis: Green has posted three solid outings over his last five games for the Hawks as they are searching for a spark off the bench. The team is depleted by injuries on the frontcourt and need role players to step up. Green has been doing that, averaging 12.4 points and 1.4 boards per game over his last five contests. Despite this nice stretch of games, Green is still just a low-end reserve option in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Hawks G Willie Green had his best game of the season on Wednesday, scoring 20 points on just eight field goal attempts off the bench to help the Hawks down the Suns 101-99. Green had four 3-pointers and made all six of his attempts from the free-throw line in the game while adding four rebounds, an assist and three steals in a season-best 34 minutes. It was the second time in three games that Green topped double digits in scoring.
Analysis: Green has been excellent off the bench for the Hawks, however because he averages just 15.6 minutes per night, he doesnt have much Fantasy value. He is averaging a very impressive 15.2 points-per 36 minutes, however due to his limited playing time, he is only at 7.0 points per game on the season. If he ever manages to get starters minutes, Green could emerge as a viable Fantasy option, but since the Hawks seem to like him off the bench, his value is limited. Consider him nothing more than a low-end reserve option in all Fantasy formats at this point.
News: Hawks G Willie Green gave the team a spark on Monday, scoring 14 points in just 17 minutes off the bench against the Suns. He made 6 of 11 shots from the field while adding two three pointers made. He didnt do much else, adding just one rebound and one assists as the Hawks lost 99-90.
Analysis: Green was able to knock down some shots on Monday night and give the Hawks a spark off the bench. However, the 31-year-old has only scored in double figures eight times this season and has seen his already limited minutes decrease now that Kirk Hinrich is healthy. Fantasy owners should feel free to leave Green on the waiver wire in the majority of formats heading forward.
News: Hawks G Willie Green was able to find his scoring touch during Sunday night's contest against the Hornets. Green finished with a season-high 16 points in the 94-72 victory, on 6 of 11 shooting from the field. He went 4 of 7 from behind the arc and also chipped in with one rebound, while logging 18 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Green was able to knock down some shots on Sunday night and give the Hawks a spark off the bench. However, the 31-year-old has only scored in double figures six times this season and could see his already limited minutes decrease now that Kirk Hinrich is healthy. Fantasy owners should feel free to leave Green on the waiver wire in the majority of formats heading into Week 6 (Jan. 30-Feb. 5).
News: Hawks G Willie Green hadnt scored more than five points in any game this season heading into Thursday nights matchup with the Heat, but he gave Atlanta a huge boost with his play off the bench in the second quarter. Coach Larry Drew said he turned to Green because he was "really searching" for players who showed "a sense of urgency." Green showed him that sense of urgency by scoring all 14 of his points in that period, hitting on all five of his shots to keep the Hawks in step with the Heat before halftime. He would attempt just one more shot in the game, which he would miss, finishing the game five-of-six from the field and two-of-two from the free-throw.
Analysis: Green was remarkable in the second quarter and a non-factor otherwise. That gives him exactly one quarter on the season in which he has been a difference maker for the Hawks. Even with the strong play, he found himself with just 22 minutes overall. If he can show more consistent production like that, he could certainly emerge as a viable reserve for the Hawks, but even if that did happen, his Fantasy value would likely be very limited. He should not be on the roster of any Fantasy teams right now.
News: New Orleans guard Willie Green, who was 5 for 15 in his previous three games, came out as hot as can be in Friday's game against the Suns. He made good on his first 12 shots from the field to set a franchise record on the way to scoring a season-high 31 points in the win. "I don't know if you say en fuego or caught fire," New Orleans coach Monty Williams said. "Whatever the term was, he got hot tonight and was rolling." Green finally cooled off later in the game, but still finished a solid 12 of 17 from the floor and 5 of 6 from long-range. "I knew I was in a rhythm. I knew I was in a zone," Green said. "But I didn't know I was 12 for 12. It was a good feeling. I had it going and I was trying to keep it going. I was just trying to be aggressive." Green added four assists, three rebounds and a steal in 31 minutes of playing time off of the bench.
Analysis: Green hadn't matched his scoring effort from Friday in the previous four games, so the Hornets game-plan adjusted well on the fly. They fed him the ball as much as they could early on, and he made his way to the franchise mark. Green hadn't even been putting up complimentary numbers to balance out his scoring lately, and he found a way to on Friday. The Detroit product has had his moments this season, especially when Chris Paul was injured. Still, he hasn't played as much as he once did, and faded down the stretch before Friday's explosion. Fantasy owners should think about using him as a marginal option moving forward, nothing more.
News: After losing his starting job heading into Friday's game against the Grizzlies, New Orleans guard Willie Green looked flustered after three quarters. He had two points and really didn't impact the game. In the fourth, however, Green took the game over and sparked a rally to propel the Hornets to the win column. He notched 13 of his 15 points in the final period, shooting 6 of 11 overall from the floor. "[Green] got hot, and they started looking for him," said Grizzlies guard Mike Conley. "It's tough when he's making shots like that. Guys were putting hands up and playing good D, but that was the guy they were going to."Green added two rebounds in 27 minutes off of the bench.
Analysis: Hornets coach Monty Williams has some options at the shooting guard position. Green exploded in the fourth quarter, but new starter Marco Belinelli played well. He shot 6 of 7 from the floor and scored 14 points. Green still played more minutes though -- 27 to 17 -- so his playing time won't differ too much even though he's a reserve. Fantasy owners should ease their concern for his benching as Green was still able to produce enough to warrant low-end status moving forward in Fantasy play. The situation should be monitored over the next few games.
News: New Orleans guard Willie Green tallied 17 points and four rebounds in the Hornets' 98-87 victory over the Clippers on Wednesday night. Green, who remained in the starting lineup, connected on 7 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range. He also recorded two assists and did not commit a turnover for the first time in three games while playing 33 minutes against Los Angles.
Analysis: Green picked up where he left off before the All-Star break and has now scored in double figures in three consecutive games, matching a season high. He is averaging 17.0 points in his last five games and seems locked into the Hornets starting lineup as long as he continues to produce. He could make for a solid Fantasy producer in deeper leagues during the second half. Track his progress and be ready to pounce if his scoring average continues to increase.
News: Hornets guard Willie Green continues to post solid numbers as he remains in the starting lineup. When Green starts he averages 12.8 points per game, up from his 7.3 average when he comes off the bench. He posted his second 24-point outing in four games on Wednesday night against the Trail Blazers. Green would shoot 11 for 19 from the field -- 57.9 percent -- but missed all three of his shots from downtown. He went 2 for 3 at the charity stripe and chipped in six rebounds in his 41 minutes of action. New Orleans would not find the win column as Portland won the game, 103-96, handing the Hornets a third straight loss.
Analysis: Green has scored in double digits in four of his last five games, posting 17.4 points per game. While Green hasn't started too many games this season, it seems he excels when playing next to Chris Paul. With the three backup guards totaling 49 minutes and 17 points between them, Green should be in line for plenty more starts. While his Fantasy value isn't too high right now, Green is worth adding in deeper formats as a second-half flier. He has potential to be scoring threat the Hornets need, it is just a matter of coach Monty Williams giving him the playing time. Keep an eye on him as the season unfolds.
News: Hornets guard Willie Green had an excellent scoring performance on Wednesday night against the Nets in an overtime loss. Green shot 8 for 14 in the contest and put up 19 points for the Hornets. He went 2 for 4 from long range and added a rebound over 35 minutes.
Analysis: Green didn't do anything but score on Wednesday and since he doesn't really do that consistently, either, he's not much of a Fantasy option. Fantasy owners can leave him on waivers despite his solid scoring night.
News: For the first time since Jan. 9, Hornets guard Willie Green scored in double figures. He finished with 11 points on a 5-for-7 shooting performance on Tuesday against the Wizards. He hit his lone shot from downtown in outing, which saw New Orleans hold off Washington, 97-89. Green added four rebounds, three steals and an assist in his 20 minutes of action.
Analysis: Green has been getting about 17 minutes off the bench over his last five contests. In those outings he's averaging 7.0 points, 2.4 boards and 1.2 steals. Those numbers aren't good enough to warrant much Fantasy attention. Owners in all formats should ignore Green as he continues to be a role player off the bench.
News: With starting shooting guard Marco Belinelli out with an ankle injury, New Orleans guard Willie Green got the spot start against the Rockets on Friday night. Even with the start and overtime period, Green was a non-factor in the matchup. He scored six points, although he took just one shot -- making it -- while converting on all four of his free throw attempts. Green chipped in defensively with two steals and a rebound in 22 minutes of action.
Analysis: Green did not take the aggressive path in Friday's overtime win, finishing with the lone shot attempt. The lack of shots was odd, considering he took 10 shots in two of the previous four games while coming off of the bench. Still, he is a situational scorer who will not fill it up across the board, warranting him minimal value. We just figured he'd have a shot to produce more in the starting lineup. Either way, go ahead and continue to ignore Green in Fantasy play for now.
News: New Orleans guard Willie Green got the start on Friday in Houston with Marco Belinelli out of action. This was Green's first start of the year and got the nod over Marcus Thornton.
Analysis: In 34 games this year, Green is averaging 7.8 points and 2.3 boards per contest. Fantasy owners shouldn't pay too much attention to Green, but it couldn't hurt seeing how he does. Owners can continue to ignore him in the majority of formats.
News: The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that if Marco Belinelli is out for Friday's game at Houston then Willie Green would start in his place and not Marcus Thornton. As much as I like Marcus scoring, he doesnt have the size that you like at that position to start the game, coach Monty Williams said Thursday. Willie is probably a better option with that group. I would like to keep Marcus in that role of giving us a spark off the bench. After watching Belinelli struggle to make cuts at Thursdays practice, Williams said he probably will not play tonight. Belinelli was injured in the opening minute of Wednesdays game attempting to rebound. He had started all 39 games, and his 11.0 scoring average is third on the team.
Analysis: Even if Green does start he has minimal Fantasy value. Keep an eye on his production in case Belinelli is out for an extended period of time, but he still has to contend with sharing time with Thornton, who is the better Fantasy option of the two.
News: Hornets guard Willie Green scored 11 points for the second straight game on Wednesday in a loss to Golden State. Green shot 4 of 10 from the field and played 27 minutes. He missed all four 3-pointers he attempted and added five rebounds.
Analysis: Green is starting to see more playing time, especially as Marcus Thornton is struggling once again. Thornton only played four minutes on Wednesday and Green is grabbing those extra seconds on the floor. Still, we cannot label him as anything more than a low-end Fantasy option for the time being.
News: After missing five games because of deaths in his family, Hornets guard Willie Green returned to the court on Friday against the Celtics. Green played 18 minutes in New Orleans, 83-81 win. He shot 1 for 5 from the field, his lone make coming from behind the 3-point arc, and converted both his foul shots. Green would finish with five points and one rebound.
Analysis: Green's return to the team could spell bad news for Marcus Thornton, who saw less playing time with Green being back. It is a situation to watch, but Green doesn't have much Fantasy appeal in the majority of formats.
News: The Detroit Free Press reports that the sister and cousin of Hornets G Willie Green were killed in a car accident on Sunday night after leaving his game against the Pistons. Green missed Monday's game in Indiana to attend to his family.
Analysis: Green is dealing with a personal tragedy that goes beyond his career as an NBA player. Expect him to be given time to deal with the personal grief. Green has averaged 7.9 points per game in 27 appearances this season.
News: New Orleans guard Willie Green scored 10 points off the bench on Wednesday as the Hornets beat the Kings, 94-91. He shot 4 for 7 from the field -- going 1 for 3 from downtown -- and connecting on 1 of his 2 foul shots. Green would grab three rebounds and dish out an assist in his 25 minutes of action.
Analysis: Green hasn't been scoring much lately as he's averaging just 5.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game over his last five outings. He got more action on Wednesday, but isn't normally a big factor for the Hornets on offense. Green isn't worth much in Fantasy leagues and can be left on the waiver wire in all formats at this time.
News: New Orleans guard Willie Green scored in double digits for the second consecutive game, tying a season-high with 19 points in the Hornets' 97-78 victory at Portland on Friday night. Green finished 7 of 11 from the field in his best shooting performance of the season (64%) when attempting more than two shots.
Analysis: Green played 29 minutes Friday and was the only member of the Hornets who played to not register a rebound. He won't contribute much to any stat category other than scoring and his playing time could start to decrease. With recently-acquired Jarrett Jack now the primary backup to starting point guard Chris Paul in New Orleans, Green's minutes will likely take a hit. He had little Fantasy value before the trade and he should remain on your waiver wire.
News: Hornets guard Willie Green had his best game of the season in Tuesday's 101-82 win over the Clippers. Green poured in a season-high 19 points on 7 of 10 shooting in the victory. He played 25 minutes off the bench and also chipped in with one rebound and a block.
Analysis: Green has by far his best game of the season on Tuesday, as he was the leading scorer for New Orleans. Much of the scoring came late in a blowout win, but what is worth noting is the increased playing time he saw while Marcus Thornton did not play a single minute. It would appear Green could be in line for more playing time behind Marco Belinelli while Thornton becomes increasingly marginalized. While Green does have the ability to light up the scoreboard at times, he doesn't so much else to fill up a stat sheet. He also is very inconsistent at times, which makes him more of a low-end Fantasy reserve at this point. He may be worth a pickup in deeper leagues, however, and is worth monitoring.
News: Hornets guard Willie Green continues to play well off of the bench as he chipped in 12 points in Saturday's win over the Spurs. He shot 5 of 10 from the field, including 1 of 1 from 3-point range. Green also assisted on two buckets, pulled down four rebounds and had a steal in 23 minutes of action.
Analysis: Green was acquired in a trade with the 76ers this offseason. He averaged 9.4 points per game during his seven years in Philly. It looks like he will continue to contribute off of the bench on solid Hornets squad. Still, from a Fantasy standpoint, he remains a very low-end reserve.
News: Hornets guard Willie Green netted 10 points on 3 fro 8 shooting in Wednesday's preseason game. He played almost 20 minutes and chipped in two boards and two assists.
Analysis: Green was acquired in a trade with the 76ers this offseason. He averaged 9.4 points per game during his seven years in Philly. He may be able to contribute off the bench in New Orleans, but it is too soon to tell how much of a Fantasy impact he'll have. While he has potential to score in double-digits, he should only be targeted in deeper leagues off the waiver wire.
News: The Philadelphia 76ers acquired rookie forward Craig Brackins from the New Orleans Hornets for Willie Green and Jason Smith. The Sixers also got forward Darius Songaila in Thursday's trade.
Analysis: Green played seven seasons with the Sixers, averaging 9.4 points in 422 games. He has some mild appeal in deeper formats as a potential double-digit scorer from time to time, but we don't expect him to be much more than waiver wire fodder this year.

Analysis: Green had been playing well prior to injuring his shoulder in February, averaging 13.4 in his five previous games while starting for Allen Iverson. However, Lou Williams has been playing even better in Green's place, so it's unknown as to who will start going forward. When healthy, and starting, Green is a viable Fantasy option.

Analysis: Green has missed four games with the injury and Fantasy owners have not missed him much. However, he was enjoying his best stretch of the season prior to getting hurt. News: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Allen Iverson returned to practice Monday. He has missed the team's last five games due to personal matters. The Sixers play Tuesday against Miami. Willie Green has been starting in his absence.
Analysis: There has been no official word yet, but this makes it highly probable that Iverson will be back for Tuesday's game against Miami. He had been missing time to tend to his sick daughter, but now that he is back with the team Fantasy owners should expect him to return to the starting lineup. He remains a quality No. 3 guard when healthy and active. Green will likely return to the bench and will have very limited Fantasy appeal with this news.
News: Sixers SG Willie Green continues to play well in Allen Iverson's absence, scoring 10 points against Toronto on Wednesday. It was his fifth consecutive game in double figures. He shot 3 of 11, missing all four of his 3-point attempts.
Analysis: Green's minutes are up in Allen Iverson's absence, as is his scoring. He's averaging 13.4 points in five February games, scoring at least 10 points in each contest. Unfortunately his value should decrease once Iverson returns, making Green once again an option in only the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News:Allen Iverson has missed his team's last three games while at home taking care of his daughter, who is dealing with an illness. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Sixers coach Eddie Jordan said Sunday there was "no timetable" for Iverson's return. In his absence, Jrue Holiday and Willie Green have seen a boost in minutes and touches.
Analysis: Obviously, Iverson has bigger concerns than basketball at the moment. Fantasy owners should consider him too risky to play in most weekly format scenarios as he could easily miss both of the team's games in All-Star shortened Week 16 (Feb. 8-14). As for Holiday and Green, their appeal is limited to that of short-term stopgap measures in deeper formats.
News: Philadelphia G Willie Green had 15 and 12 points while he filled in for Allen Iverson who missed games due to his daughter's illness.
Analysis: Despite some of the solid play from Green, the return of Iverson will probably spell the end of Green's double digit performances. He generally only sees 24 minutes per game and provides no real Fantasy value.
News: Philadelphia guard Willie Green scored eight points over 29 minutes Sunday in a win at New Jersey. Green shot 3 for 10 from the field and added three rebounds and an assist.
Analysis: Green is averaging 23 minutes per game of late for the 76ers but isn't a major part of their offense. He's scoring 6.6 points and adding 2.8 rebounds and little else over his last five contests. He's simply a low-end Fantasy option barely worth using in the deepest of leagues.
News: Sixers G Willie Green (ankle) returned to action Sunday against the Nuggets. He played 21 minutes and went 4 of 11 from the field, finishing with 9 points and 6 assists.
Analysis: Green had a somewhat productive line, but Fantasy owners should not expect much out of him on a regular basis -- especially with Allen Iverson and Lou Williams both healthy.
News: Sixers SG Willie Green missed his third straight game with a sprained ankle Thursday at the Clippers. He remains day to day.
Analysis: Green had been playing well in recent games, but the return of Allen Iverson along with the health of Lou Williams will limit his production when he is able to return. Leave him for the deepest of Fantasy leagues.

News: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Willie Green is considered a game-time decision for Monday's game in Portland due to a left ankle sprain.
Analysis: Green has been playing well in recent games, but the return of Allen Iverson along with the health of Lou Williams will limit his production. Consider him a risky play as a stopgap this week due to the injury and the fact that Iverson and Williams will share the backcourt this week.
News: According to the team's official Web site, Sixers coach Eddie Jordan said that Lou Williams would be held out of the starting lineup Tuesday at Washington. Jrue Holiday and Willie Green are expected to start.
Analysis: Willie Green has scored 12 or more points in three of his last four games with decent assist numbers and is an interesting sleeper in deep formats, especially in daily lineup leagues as long as this continues.
News: Sixers SG Willie Green, who had just scored a season-high 26 points last time out, scored only two in 16 minutes Monday against the Nuggets. He entered the game averaging 17.5 points and 3.3 assists over his last six, but he spent much of that time in the starting lineup. With Allen Iverson back, Green had to return to the bench.
Analysis: Green was quickly gaining Fantasy relevance, but the return of Iverson pretty much ruined all that. Unless his role changes in the next couple games, Green should remain on waivers except in the deepest of leagues.
News: Sixers SG Willie Green set season highs with 23 points and eight rebounds Monday at Dallas. He's averaging 16.3 points over his last four games after scoring in double figures only once in his first 14 games.
Analysis: Green has become more of a scorer with Lou Williams sidelined by a fractured jaw. He'll need to have a few more performances like this one before he deserves a look in Fantasy, but if nothing else, he now has some appeal in deeper leagues.
News: 76ers backup guard Willie Green played just eight minutes in the opener Wednesday against the Magic. Green scored two points on 1 of 3 shooting. He added an assist and steal.
Analysis: Green needs to get more minutes before he has any Fantasy value. Leave him on waivers in most leagues at this time.
News: Sixers SG Willie Green scored seven points in a starting opportunity on Sunday against the Raptors. He went 3-for-8 from the field, adding a rebound and a blocked shot to his stat line.
Analysis: This is about what can be expected from Green as he is a player who can score in bunches but mostly scores between seven and 10 points. He is a low-end option only worth using in the deepest of leagues the rest of the season.
News: Sixers G Willie Green had just two points, an assist and a rebound in 26 minutes as the starting shooting guard Monday in Portland. It snapped a string of three straight games in double figures.
Analysis: Green had scored 12, 10 and 10 points against the Suns, Warriors and Kings, three of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. That's probably the best you can expect from Williams, who doesn't offer consistent help in any category despite being a starter right now.
News: 76ers SG Willie Green chipped in 14 points, three rebounds and two assists during Monday's game against the Nets. He has hit double figures in just four of nine February games. He is averaging 9.3 points per game this month.
Analysis: Green averaged more than 11 points per game the previous two seasons, but he is being held under 8.5 in 2008-09. It's been because Philadelphia has received more production from rising players such as Thaddeus Young and Louis Williams. Green is a solid veteran presence, but has very low-end Fantasy appeal.
News: Philadelphia SG Willie Green scored 15 points in 29 minutes in the starting lineup on Tuesday night in a loss at Indiana. Green shot 6-of-16 from the field and did little else of Fantasy significance.
Analysis: Green shot poorly on Tuesday but still scored well as he saw more minutes than he had in the previous three games. When given time Green can score for Philadelphia but it doesn't seem like that will happen consistently enough to warrant using him in anything but very deep Fantasy leagues.
News: Philadelphia SG Willie Green scored a team-high and season-high 23 points and had four rebounds and an assist in a 99-94 win over the Pacers on Thursday. It was Green's second game in which he scored 20 or more points in his last four starts.
Analysis: Green is averaging 12.6 points per game over his last five games, which is more than four points over his average on the season. His two 20-point games in the last week is the best performances he's had this season, so his Fantasy value is as high as it has been all season. However, he remains nothing more than a low-end option reserved for the deepest of leagues as this recent surge won't likely last long.
News:Willie Green scored a season-high 20 points as the 76ers kicked off a seven-game homestand with a 104-94 win over the pesky Wizards on Friday night. Green went 9-of-15 from the field in the game, adding five assists to his stat line.
Analysis: Green had not been all that productive as a starter until Friday. The fact that 20 points is his high on the year doesn't say much about his production in the first half of the year. He remains only a low-end option in deeper leagues.
News: Sixers G Willie Green scored five points with two assists in Monday's game at New Orleans. He started at shooting guard and played just 21 minutes. He is averaging just 7.0 points, 1.8 assists and 0.8 rebounds over his last five games.

News: Philadelphia SG Willie Green got the start on Saturday night at New York and scored eight points in 19 minutes. He was 3-of-8 from the field and added two boards and two assists with two steals.

News: Sixers G Willie Green (ankle) was back in the starting lineup in Friday's game in Denver. He missed Tuesday's game in Boston with a sprained ankle suffered last Saturday.
Analysis: Green scored 13 points in 23 minutes and appeared to be fine in terms of health. He is playing a decent role, splitting time with Louis Williams and there should be enough shots to go around for both with the team needing to fill the offensive void left by Elton Brand for the next month. Consider him a decent No. 4 guard in larger formats for the time being.
News: Philadelphia G Willie Green sprained his left ankle while guarding Pacers G Jarrett Jack in the first half. X-rays were negative, but Green didn't return to the game. He is questionable for Tuesday's game at Boston.
Analysis: Green is simply a low-end Fantasy guard who gets limited playing time as it is. With this injury, Green's Fantasy value goes down even further. He's a low-end Fantasy guard at best even when healthy.
News: Philadelphia G Willie Green started in place of F Thaddeus Young for the Sixers on Wednesday night against the Cavs. Young has been struggling of late and was demoted. Young finished with just six points in 27 minutes and shot poorly at 2-for-9. Green didn't fare much better as he shot 1-for-6 for two points.
Analysis: Young was averaging more than 15 points per game not too long ago, emerging as a surprise starter in Fantasy leagues. He's a youngster and should bounce back. Right now he's mostly a No. 4 Fantasy forward until he gets more minutes. Green is just a low-end Fantasy guard.
News: Philadelphia SG Willie Green scored six points against the Nets on Saturday night. Green was 2-of-7 from the floor with just one assist.
Analysis: Green is averaging just under 8 points per game in 21 minutes for the 76ers. The 76ers just have too many scorers now, making him a low-end Fantasy guard.

News: The Sixers will play three games in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 2). They'll host Toronto on Oct. 29, the Knicks on Oct. 31 and will travel to Atlanta on Nov. 1. The Raptors allowed 97.3 ppg last season, the Knicks (103.5) and the Hawks (100.0).
Analysis: The usual suspects, Andre Iguodala, Andre Miller and Elton Brand are must-starts through thick and thin. Lou Williams is a decent low-end starting option this week in deeper Head-to-Head leagues where low-end double digit scoring and little else may be appealing. The same goes for Willie Green, who will have to adjust to life off the bench after starting the last two seasons. Green could find himself back in the starting lineup if Young is unable to play at any point. Keep low-end options like Reggie Evans, Marreese Speights, Theo Ratliff, Kareem Rush and Jason Smith reserved this week.
News: Sixers G Willie Green appeared in 74 games -- all starts -- during the 2007-08 regular season. He averaged a career-high 12.4 points and shot a career-best 43.6 percent from the field.
Analysis: Green played well off Andre Iguodala and was constantly in double digits. He was very streaky and was a great matchup starter in larger leagues in weeks when he saw four games or faced very favorable teams. In 2008-09, he should be considered a fourth or fifth guard option, to be used when the right matchups arise. Rotisserie owners won't get much other than the scoring.
