(4/10/2015) Magic coach James Borrego said guard Willie Green (knee) should return for Friday's game against the Raptors, according to Orlando Magic Daily.

 Green skipped Wednesday's win against Chicago. 

The Magic are 5.5-point underdogs against the Raptors.

(4/6/2015) Guard Willie Green will become an unrestricted free agent after this season, but the veteran said he would prefer to return to the Magic, per the Orlando Sentinel

Green is averaging 5.8 points in 18 minutes of action, but the 34-year-old feels he still has more to give and would like to stay in Orlando. 

"I like where it's going here in this organization, and I still feel like I have something to offer to the game," Green said.

(4/2/2015) Magic guard Willie Green feels his playing career still has plenty of life in it, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

"I definitely want to keep playing," Green said. "I feel like I still have a good maybe three or four years — who knows? — or even more."

Green, 33, is averaging 5.8 points and 1.5 rebounds over 46 games for the Magic this season and he said he likes the direction the organization is moving in.

"Like I've said before, this is a great possibility for me to come back here," Green said. "Obviously, I would have to talk it over with my representatives and Rob [Hennigan] and Scott Perry. But I like what I see. I like where it's going here in this organization, and I still feel like I have something to offer to the game."


Magic's Tobias Harris, DeWayne Dedmon won't play Sunday

Magic's Borrego on Green: 'We trust him on both ends of the floor'

(3/2/2015) Magic interim coach James Borrego praised Willie Green after the shooting guard played a season-high 32 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Hornets, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

"We trust him on both ends of the floor," Borrego said. "He's made shots. He's made the right play. He's moving the ball well. He's really been active defensively. He can guard the point guard. He can guard [shooting] guards. He can guard some small forwards. So he's very valuable to us right now on both ends of the floor."

Green played the final 20 minutes of Sunday's game without coming off the court and finished with 11 points, three assists and two rebounds in 32 minutes of action.

"I love to play," Green told reporters afterward. "So give me more games. Give me more minutes. Whatever it is, I'll be ready to go."

Green has averaged 18 minutes in 40 appearances this season, scoring 5.8 points per game.


Magic guard Willie Green not expected to be bought out of contract

(2/21/2015) Veteran Magic guard Willie Green is expecting to remain with the team throughout the rest of the season. The Magic have the option to buy players out of their contracts and make them free agents, but the team is not planning to do so, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

"'Buyout' is not really in my language," Green said. "I get paid to come in here to be professional and play hard and go out and try to help the team win. As far as I'm concerned, I'm with Orlando for the rest of the year."

Green, who is averaging 5.1 points and 1.3 assists in 36 games this year, wants to be in Orlando and continue to help young players grow.

"Me personally, I'm committed to being here," Green said. "I like being here with these young guys. I like helping them. [Magic GM] Rob Hennigan and myself, we've had conversations about the way I can contribute on and off the floor. So I'm in it. I'm committed."
