News: The Celtics officially waived center Darko Milicic Wednesday. Coach Doc Rivers said Tuesday he did not believe Milicic would return to the team.
Analysis: Milicic was expected to serve as the primary backup to starting center Kevin Garnett, but played just five minutes this season. Rivers said the Celtics have no urgency to sign another player to fill Milicic's spot, though reports indicated the team could look at free-agent Kenyon Martin. Milicic has no Fantasy value at this time.
News: Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Tuesday he does not expect center Darko Milicic to return to the team after leaving to spend time with his ill-stricken mother in his native Europe, the Boston Globe reports. "Most likely (he's gone)," Rivers said. "Honestly the stuff with his family has been going on for a while. We've talked about it three or four times. It's probably 50-50, but once you get the one side working, it's always going to win out."
Analysis: Milicic was expected to serve as the primary backup to starting center Kevin Garnett, but has played just five minutes this season. Rivers said the Celtics have no urgency to sign another player to fill Milicic's spot, though reports indicated the team could look at free-agent Kenyon Martin. Milicic is averaging just 6.0 points and 4.2 rebounds during his career, and should not be viewed as a worthwhile Fantasy option at this point.
News: According to Yahoo! Sports, Boston center Darko Milicic is heavily considering leaving the team for the remainder of the season in order to be with his ill mother in Europe. Milicic, who signed a one-year deal with the Celtics in the offseason, has appeared in only one game.
Analysis: Milicic has battled a wrist issue for most of the season but has also been squeezed for playing time in Boston's crowded frontcourt. He is averaging just 6.0 points and 4.2 rebounds during his career, and should not be viewed as a worthwhile Fantasy option at this point.
News: Boston center Darko Milicic (wrist) did not play due to a coach's decision on Tuesday in the season debut at Miami. Milicic was dealing with a wrist issue entering the game but was said to be better prior to the contest, as reported by NBA.com.
Analysis: Milicic doesn't seem to be 100 percent healthy but his wrist was not given as the reason he missed the game. We're not sure how much run Milicic will see early in the season so Fantasy owners should be avoiding him at all costs right now.
News: Boston center Darko Milicic has been practicing with his right wrist heavily taped up, reports the Boston Globe. Milicic is expected to be ready for the season opener against Miami Tuesday.
Analysis: Milicic is clearly not 100 percent healthy though he is probable to be on the court for the Celtics in the season opener against the Heat. The 27-year-old has never lived up to his hype and may not make a Fantasy impact in Boston. That remains to be seen and Milicic enters the year with low-end value.
News: Celtics center Darko Milicic left Monday's preseason contest against the 76ers with a right wrist injury. Milicic was diagnosed with strained ligaments in his wrist and is scheduled to have a cortisone injection Tuesday to numb the pain. He is being considered day to day with his ailment.
Analysis: Milicic is trying to resurrect his career with the Celtics after flopping during his nine years with the Pistons and Timberwolves. While his injury is not being considered serious, this is something that could linger into the regular season, so owners should keep an eye on Milicic's status over the next few weeks. However, it remains unknown whether or not the 27-year-old will be able to make any type of Fantasy impact in Boston, so owners should take a wait-and-see approach with him to start the year. Milicic should go undrafted in the majority of formats on Draft Day.
News: Former Timberwolves center Darko Milicic became an unrestricted free agent Saturday, after he went unclaimed in the amnesty waivers process. The Wolves waived Milicic Thursday, and now he is free to sign with any team, with a few teams already reportedly expressing interest.
Analysis: Despite having nine seasons of NBA experience, Milicic is still just 27 years old, so some team will certain take a flier on the former No. 2 overall pick as a back up. At this point, however, Milicic has proven he is not a difference maker and should be avoided on Draft Day in all formats, barring a signing with a team in desperate need for a starting center.
News: The Timberwolves announced Thursday that they have waived center Darko Milicic, using their one-time amnesty provision to remove his contract from their books. Milicic will now go through waivers, with teams that are under the salary cap able to bid on his contract.
Analysis: This move comes as little surprise, as he essentially disappeared from the Wolves rotation last season. Milicic averaged just 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, and while some team may take a flier on the former No. 2 overall pick, he has been a consistent disappointment throughout his career, and will be unlikely to make any sort of impact in any Fantasy leagues next season.
News: With just three games remaining on the Timberwolves schedule, coach Rick Adelman expressed very little optimism about the chance that center Darko Milicic would be returning this season. When asked whether he thought Milicic would be able to play in the final three games while dealing with a strained right hamstring, Adelman told the St. Paul Pioneer Press,"I don't think so."
Analysis: This is the first update we have had on Milicic's injury status in quite some time. Adelman has expressed disappointment with Milicic's effort this year, so he was finding playing time hard to come by even when healthy. Milicic will finish the season with averages of 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 29 games, and with Nikola Pekovic emerging as the center of the future, it will be interesting to see what the team does with the former No. 2 overall pick. He may land in a different city in the offseason, however it is unlikely that Milicic will be worth targeting next season on Draft Day.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic was inactive for his 12th game in a row on Wednesday, and while he has been dealing with a hamstring injury in that time, he was not listed as injured on the official lineup. He received a DNP - coach's decision, indicating that he is healthy now, and just hasn't been used.
Analysis: We have not had an update on Milicic's injury status in a while, so it really seems like he is just in the coach's doghouse. Which is not surprising, as his play has been uninspired all season. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore him in all formats.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Millicic missed his 11th game in a row on Monday against the Suns, as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Millicic remains day to day, however there has been no indication at any point that the injury is improving. In fact, there really hasn't been any updates on his status whatsoever. That being said, Millicic has such little Fantasy value that it really does not matter. He should not be owned in any leagues at this point.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic was once again ruled inactive for Saturday night's contest against the Hornets due to a hamstring injury. Milicic has now missed 10 straight games due to his injury.
Analysis: Milicic is still being considered day to day with his injury, but no one seems to know when or if he will be able to return. However, with most leagues entering their Championship Week, it really shouldn't matter at this point. Milicic should be considered merely waiver-wire fodder at this point in the season.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Millicic was out yet again on Wednesday against the Warriors, as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. He remains day-to-day.
Analysis: Millicic has missed the last nine games, though the injury is thought to be a new occurence. He has simply lost his spot in the rotation, even when healthy. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore him even if he gets back in the lineup soon.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic did not travel with the team for Monday's game at Sacramento because of a hamstring injury, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. It's unclear when Milicic suffered the injury and he is currently listed as day to day.
Analysis: Milicic's presence will hardly be missed as he has not played in the Timberwolves' last eight games. He is averaging just 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, and has topped 20 minutes in a game only once since the end of January. Leave him on waivers in all Fantasy formats.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic has played six minutes in the last six games for the Timberwolves. He hasnt done anything to give you a lot of faith that hes going to go out and do the job, coach Rick Adelman told NBA.com prior to Wednesday's game. I think hes gotten himself out of shape and is not as driven as youd like. Hes gonna get his chance and Anthony Randolph is going to get his chance. Well see who steps up. Neither played in the game.
Analysis: Milicic can't even get run with Nikola Pekovic injured. Fantasy owners that still own Darko should cut him loose as he doesn't hold much value at this stage of the season.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic was a healthy inactive on Monday against the Suns. Milicic did not play on Saturday against the Hornets and played just eight minutes against the Lakers on Friday.
Analysis: Milicic isn't hurt, he's simply been ineffective for Minnesota. With Nikola Pekovic back, Milicic isn't needed. He has low-end Fantasy value.
News: The Wolves gave a start to center Darko Milicic on Monday night against the Clippers. With Nikola Pekovic missing the game, Milicic got the start and played 28 minutes for Minnesota in the win. He scored in double figures as he dropped 13 points on 6 of 7 from the field. Milicic added four rebounds and a blocked shot for Minnesota.
Analysis: The minutes for Milicic were nice on Monday, but they should not be considered trend setting. That is because the moment Pekovic can return, Milicic should go back to minimal minutes and production. Until he can play as he did Monday consistently, Milicic will have low-end Fantasy value.
News: The Star Tribune reports Tuesday that Wolves center Darko Milicic will have his opportunities to perform this week as Minnesota meets the Clippers and Lakers. Milicic has played a total of six minutes in Minnesota's previous five games.
Analysis: Milicic has fallen out of favor for Minnesota with Nikola Pekovic playing so well. Milicic is not going to take away Pekovic's minutes so he continues to have just low-end Fantasy value.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic returned to the floor Wednesday after missing Mondays game with a muscle issue in his abdomen. Milicic played four minutes against the Jazz, recording just a rebound and a steal in a 100-98 Timberwolves victory.
Analysis: Milicic has gone from starter to barely-seen reserve in just a matter of a few weeks, as Nikola Pekovic has pushed the 26-year-old, former top pick down on the depth chart over the past few weeks. Obviously this has adversely impacted Milicic's Fantasy value, to the point where owners can ignore the 7-footer in the majority of formats, even when healthy.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic did not play in Monday night's contest against the Nuggets due to a stomach muscle problem, according to coach Rick Adelman. Milicic did not travel with the team and is being considered day to day at this point.
Analysis: Milicic is dealing with another injury and now will be sidelined for at least one game with his latest ailment. However, Nikola Pekovic has pushed the 26-year-old down on the depth chart over the past few weeks, limiting Milicic's Fantasy value. Owners can ignore the 7-footer in the majority of formats, even when healthy.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic (ankle) returned to the lineup for Monday's game at Orlando, but served in a new role. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Milicic played off the bench while Nikola Pekovic remained the Timberwolves' starting center. Pekovic has emerged as a strong low-post threat and is averaging 17.3 points and 9.8 rebounds over his past six games -- five of those outings have come with Milicic out. Milicic played just four minutes in Monday's game.
Analysis: It appears Minnesota's patience with Milicic finally ran out. Milicic has dealt with injuries and ineffectiveness throughout his career, and was averaging just 5.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season. The 26-year-old said he was content with his move to the bench. "(Pekovic) deserves to play," he said. "He's playing in a great rhythm right now. I'm happy for him." Fantasy owners weren't relying much on Milicic anyway this season and should continue to consider him an afterthought in the majority of formats for now.
News: Minnesota coach Rick Adelman told The Associated Press on Sunday that he hopes to have Wolves C Darko Milicic (ankle) back for Monday at Orlando. Milicic has already missed five straight games.
Analysis: Milicic may not have his starting role once he's ready to return, perhaps on Monday. Nikola Pekovic has been playing extremely well and deserves to keep the starting spot. Milicic shouldn't see a whole lot of value upon his return. Until he proves differently, Milicic will only career low-end Fantasy value, when healthy.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic missed his fifth consecutive game Saturday against New York because of a troublesome ankle injury, according to the team's official website. Milicic, who also has been hobbled by a quad issue, has managed just 26 minutes during the month of February.
Analysis: While Milicic continues to sit on the bench, the Timberwolves continue to watch fellow C Nikola Pekovic shine in the paint. Milicic has always been an injury risk and is averaging just 5.6 points per game this season. Fantasy owners should only reserve him in deeper formats at this point, but he is unlikely to supplant Pekovic as the starter once he returns.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic was ruled out for Friday's game against Dallas with an ankle injury, according to the team's official website. It's the fourth consecutive game Milicic will miss as a result of injuries to his quad and now his ankle, a setback he suffered Monday in practice.
Analysis: While Milicic continues to sit on the bench, the Timberwolves continue to watch fellow C Nikola Pekovic shine in the paint. Milicic has always been an injury risk and is averaging just 5.6 points per game this season. Fantasy owners should only reserve him in deeper formats at this point.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic sat out another game on Wednesday night as he is dealing with a sprained right ankle. He had a quad injury last week and injured his ankle during practice on Monday.
Analysis: Milicic's poor play and injuries so far this year, paired with the emergence of Nikola Pekovic as a serviceable starter could mean bad news for Darko. Fantasy owners in the deepest of formats should keep him reserved until he's 100 percent. Even then he'd barely be worth using in most leagues.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic sat on Tuesday night against Sacramento with a sprained right ankle. Nikola Pekovic got the start in his place.
Analysis: Milicic's poor play this year and the emergence of Pekovic as a serviceable starter could mean bad news for Darko. Fantasy owners in the deepest of formats should keep him reserved until he's 100 percent. Even then he'd barely be worth using in most leagues.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic did not play in Saturday night's contest against the rockets due to a left thigh bruise, according to the team's official website. Milicic sustained the injury during Friday night's contest against the Nets. He is being considered day to day with his injury.
Analysis: Milicic just can't seem to stay healthy and will now be considered an injury risk heading into Fantasy Week 7 (Feb. 6-12). Owners should keep an eye on his status over the next few days to see when he will be able to get back on the court. However, it appears he may be on the verge of losing his starting spot to Nikola Pekovic, which would limit Milicic's already limited Fantasy value. Consider him merely a low-end option, when healthy.
News: Timberwolves starting C Darko Milicic was able to give it a go on Friday against the Nets after sustaining a knee injury. However he was once again outplayed by his understudy, Nikola Pekovic, as Milicic played just eight minutes in the game, scoring just two points on 1 of 5 shooting with five rebounds in the Timberwolves 108-105 win.
Analysis: Milicic has seen his playing time fall off as he has been dealing with a myriad of ailments in recent days, however the biggest reason he has been losing playing time has been the excellent play of Pekovic. At this point, Pekovic is starting to get the lions share of the minutes in the front court, taking away even the marginal Fantasy value Milicic might have had. At this point, Milicic should not be relied on in any Fantasy leagues until he can get back to being the primary option.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic (knee) will return to game action and be inserted into the starting lineup for Friday's game at New Jersey, according to the team. Milicic missed the Timberwolves' practice on Thursday after being held out of the previous two games with a potassium deficiency.
Analysis: Milicic couldn't afford to miss more playing time as backup center Nikola Pekovic continues to play well and could replace him in the starting lineup eventually. Milicic continues to deliver inconsistent production and should be viewed as a low-end Fantasy option when active.
News: The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Timberwolves starting center Darko Milicic did not practice Thursday because of a knee injury, according to coach Rick Adelman. He is questionable for Friday against the Nets.
Analysis: Milicic just returned to the lineup Wednesday after missing three games because of a potassium deficiency. He can't afford to continue to sit out because backup center Nikola Pekovic is playing well and could supplant Milicic in the starting lineup eventually. Milicic continues to deliver inconsistent stat lines, so he has low-end Fantasy appeal when active.
News: After sitting out three consecutive games with a potassium deficiency, Timberwolves C Darko Milicic returned to the floor on Wednesday against the Pistons. He struggled mightily in the game however, being outplayed by his backup Nikola Pekovic once again. Milicic scored just four points on 2 of 9 shooting and grabbed only three rebounds in 18 minutes, while Pekovic got 30 minutes of playing time in the 109-99 loss to the Pacers. .
Analysis: Given the distribution of playing time and how well Pekovic has played recently, its beginning to appear as if Milicic may be just a starter in name only. He has never played big minutes or put up big numbers with the Timberwolves, however for the first time it seems as if another player is usurping his role. While Milicic may remain the starter, it wouldnt be surprising if Pekovic continues to overshadow him, removing even more of his already limited Fantasy value. At this point, Milicic is no more than a low-end Fantasy option.
News:The Star-Tribune reports Timberwolves C Darko Milicic, who has missed three games because of a potassium deficiency, said he will be available Wednesday against the Pacers, despite his dizzy spells persisting. "I think they're still kind of curious what's going on," he said. "I still feel a little bit dizzy. I can't stay out no more, just got to figure out what's going on. It might just go away."
Analysis: Minnesota has received pretty good play from Nikola Pekovic in Milicic's absence, so Milicic could be eased back into action Wednesday. He continues to be erratic with his performances, so Milicic remains a low-end Fantasy option when active.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic missed his third straight on Monday against the Rockets as he continued to deal with an illness. Nikola Pekovic got the start in his place. He is day to day.
Analysis: Milicic is averaging just 5.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season, while Pekovic continues to impress while playing in his absence. While the Timberwolves still like Milicic in the starting lineup, his playing time may decrease moving forward as Pekovic continues to play well. Consider Milicic a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats whenever he returns to game action.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic (illness) did not travel with the team and is unlikely to play in Sunday's game at Houston, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Milicic missed Sunday's contest after complaining of dizziness during warmups. He was diagnosed with a potassium deficiency, and also suffered from dehydration and swelling in the ears.
Analysis: Milicic is averaging just 5.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season, while backup Nikola Pekovic continues to impress while playing in his absence. While the Timberwolves still like Milicic in the starting lineup, his playing time may decrease moving forward as Pekovic continues to play well. Consider Milicic a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats whenever he returns to game action.
News:The Pioneer Press reports that Timberwolves C Darko Milicic missed Sundays game after complaining of dizziness during warm-ups and being diagnosed with a potassium deficiency. Milicic is also suffering from dehydration and complained of light swelling in his ears, according to the report. "A lot of little things seem to be coming together at the same time," he said. "I'm not feeling well." He is questionable for Monday at Houston.
Analysis: Milicic is averaging just 5.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season, while backup Nikola Pekovic is continues to impress behind him. While the Wolves still like Milicic in the starting lineup, his playing time may get cut into moving forward as Pekovic continues to play well. Consider Milicic just a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats whenever he gets back on the floor.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic was a last-minute scratch from the starting lineup on Friday against San Antonio, as he came down with the flu. Nikolas Pekovic started in his place.
Analysis: Milicic is averaging just 5.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season, while Pekovic is starting to impress behind him. While the Wolves still like Milicic in the starting lineup, his playing time may get cut into moving forward as Pekovic continues to play well. Consider Milicic just a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic blocked seven shots on Wednesday against the Mavs, which was the third-highest single-game total in the NBA this season. He added eight points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes.
Analysis: Milicic had all of six blocked shots in his previous six games, so it's not like he has been having a block party every night. He is averaging 1.2 blocks per game in 2011-12, which is right near his career average of 1.3 per game. Milicic remains inconsistent from night-to-night and still has low-end Fantasy appeal.
News: After being held scoreless in the previous three contests, Timberwolves C Darko Milicic was able to get back on track in Friday's game against the Clippers. He finished with a season-high 22 points and hauled in seven rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, in the 101-98 win. He went 10 for 15 from the floor and made 2 of 5 free throws while playing 34 minutes. Milicic also chipped in with two assists and two blocked shots in the victory.
Analysis: Milicic had been losing playing time to Nikola Pekovic of late but he got the start on Friday and had a solid outing. Hopefully this performance will help him out going forward so keep an eye on his progress. The 26-year-old has never quite lived up to expectations but because of his blocks and low-end scoring, Milicic holds value in deeper category-based formats.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic played eight minutes on Wednesday against Detroit before being yanked from the game. The Wolves started Nikola Pekovic in the second half and Milicic barely played the rest of the way. Milicic went just 0 for 2 from the field over his eight minutes and failed to score, despite starting for Minnesota. He had one rebound in the game.
Analysis: Milicic is averaging just over 13 minutes per game over his last five contests and even that seems to be diminishing. He simply cannot come close to realizing any of his vast potential and is not a player to be used in any Fantasy leagues at the moment. He may be falling out of the rotation altogether.
News:The Star Tribune reports Minnesota center Darko Milicic said he isn't happy about his diminished role on offense. He added he is willing to do whatever is asked as the team continues to improve, but he has mainly been a defensive presence in limited minutes.
Analysis: Milicic starts for Minnesota, but he has played 15 or less minutes in three of his last four games. He hasn't scored in those three games. Milicic clearly isn't a viable Fantasy option while he puts up weak numbers.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic was almost non-existent in Tuesday's 111-100 loss to the Bulls. The big man missed both his shot from the field and finished with no points. His only contributions in eight minutes on the court was one rebound and one assist.
Analysis: Milicic hasn't done too much for Minnesota this season. He's averaging just 4.6 points and 4.0 rebounds over his last five outings. Milicic is also seeing less than 20 minutes per game, which is limiting his chances. At this rate Milicic is not worth starting in Fantasy leagues. Owners in deeper category-based formats should stash him until he starts to pick up his production.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic had another sub-par scoring performance on Wednesday night against the Grizzlies. He went 1 for 6 from the floor and finished with four points in the 90-86 loss. He went 2 for 4 from the charity stripe while playing 22 minutes. Milicic also hauled in eight rebounds in the defeat.
Analysis: Milicic has done a bit more rebounding so far this season but all of his other stats have dropped off. He is averaging 6.7 points with 0.5 blocks through six games, and is not helping out many Fantasy owners right now. Until he picks up the pace, continue to ignore Milicic in all but the deepest of category-based formats.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic had an efficient shooting night in Monday's season opener against the Thunder. He went 4 for 6 from the floor and finished with 12 points in the 104-100 loss. He also made 4 of 6 free throws while playing 20 minutes. Milicic posted three rebounds in the defeat.
Analysis: Milicic continues to be a good source of blocks for owners but his scoring a rebounding leave many wanting. It looks as though that trend will continue this season so view the 26-year-old as more of a low-end Fantasy C at this point.
News: After a promising start to the 2010-11 season, Minnesota center Darko Milicic saw his year end in a familiar fashion -- derailed by injury. Milicic posted a pair of double-doubles and averaged 10.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game during a healthy first two months of the season. However, he missed time in mid-February and the beginning of March with an injured hip as his numbers began to tumble. Milicic was also sidelined for five of the Timberwolves' last six games of the season with an ankle injury as he finished with averages of 8.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg during his eighth year in the NBA.
Analysis: Milicic ultimately missed 13 games this past season -- his fewest since 2007-08 with Memphis. However, the 7-foot center failed to top 70 games played for the fifth time in his career. The surprising part of the Yugoslavia native's season was that he actually established a career high in points as he eclipsed his mark set in 2009-10 during his first season with Minnesota (8.3) Milicic, who finished with five double-doubles but did not record one after Jan. 13, will again be a projected late-round Fantasy draft choice next year as he holds limited upside at this point in his disappointing career.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Wednesday that Minnesota center Darko Milicic is doubtful for Wednesday's game against Houston. Milicic has only appeared in two games in April due to an ankle injury.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should keep Milicic reserved since he's been dealing with this injury for an extended period of time and Minnesota has nothing to play for. Milicic will return to Minnesota next season, and he should be considered a low-end No. 2 Fantasy center in the majority of leagues. Plan on drafting Milicic with a late-round pick.
News: The Timberwolves report Monday that center Darko Milicic is out for Monday's game at Phoenix as expected. Milicic did not take part on Monday's shootaround due to his injured ankle. There is a strong chance Milicic will also be out Wednesday against Houston.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in all leagues should keep Milicic reserved for the final two games of the season. Even if he's able to return for Wednesday's game he would have minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues.
News: The Star Tribune reports that Timberwolves center Darko Milicic may be done for the season because of his sprained ankle. He originally hurt the ankle April 1, but re-aggravated the issue six days later and has played just 10 minutes since. Minnesota has just two games left in another disappointing season.
Analysis: Milicic has missed three of the last four games completely, and saw just 10 minutes of playing time Wednesday against the Suns. He has tried to combat the issue and return sooner than expected, but continues to re-injure it. Fantasy owners should abandon ship on the former No. 2 overall pick, who had some solid efforts this season but that has been overshadowed by constant injuries once again. Milicic finishes the season with a career-high 8.8 points per game average to go along with 5.2 rebounds and nearly one block per night.
News: As expected, Timberwolves center Darko Milicic was held out of Saturday's game against the Nuggets with an ankle injury. Milicic re-aggravated an ankle injury during last Wednesday's game against Phoenix and was limited to only 10 minutes of playing time. The 7-footer initially injured his ankle against Miami on April 1 and his status remains uncertain heading into Monday's tilt against the Suns.
Analysis: Milicic is currently with the team during their current two-game road trip and participated in a supervised workout prior to Saturday night's game in Denver. While he is officially being listed as day to day the team has given no indication on when or if he will be able to return before the end of the regular season. Fantasy owners in daily formats should continue to monitor his status moving forward. However, don't be surprised if the team does shut him down for the season.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic (ankle) will miss Saturday's game against Denver, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Milicic re-aggravated an ankle injury during last Wednesday's game against Phoenix and was limited to only 10 minutes of playing time. The 7-footer initially injured his ankle against Miami on April 1 and was sidelined for the following two games.
Analysis: Milicic did travel with the team as the Timberwolves embarked on their last road trip of the season, but will miss his 11th game of the year. He has mustered only 19 combined minutes in the last two games he's played because of the ankle injury to drop his season averages to 8.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg. Fantasy owners should leave him on the bench for Saturday and if he does return this season, consider him merely a low-end option.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic, who injured his left ankle in Friday's loss to the Miami Heat, returned briefly for Minnesota Wednesday against the Suns. Milicic, however, played only 10 minutes after re-injuring the ankle. In the limited playing time, he shot 1 of 3 from the floor on the way to 10 points. Milicic added a pair of rebounds, a block and an assitst before re-injuring the ankle.
Analysis: Milicic can't catch a break with the left ankle, and it may cause him to rest the issue more than originally expected. He hasn't missed more than three straight games with any one injury this season, though he dealt with a few limitations on the year. The ankle appears to be more serious now that it's re-injured, so Fantasy owners should monitor the issue moving forward to see when the big man can come back. Milicic is a low-end option when healthy, as the 7-footer has never quite lived up to the hype of being the No. 2 overall pick in the star-studded 2003 NBA draft.
News: After missing a pair of games because of an ankle sprain, Timberwolves center Darko Milicic will play Wednesday against the Suns.
Analysis: Milicic has been fairly healthy all season, and he hasn't missed any more than three straight games. He avoids that trend once again by suiting up Wednesday, and he may see an increased role with Kevin Love out of the lineup. When healthy, Darko is just a low-end option at best moving forward.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic was inactive for Tuesday's outing versus the Nets as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. He has missed two straight games now and saw just nine minutes in his previous game -- the contest he was hurt in.
Analysis: Milicic is averaging 8.1 points and 4.8 boards over his last 10 contests. While his numbers aren't great, he's still having his best season in the NBA. He's a good source of block and rebounds, when healthy, but is still just a low-end center option in deeper category-based Fantasy leagues. He should not be active in any lineup at this time.
News: The Timberwolves report Monday that center Darko Milicic will not travel with the team to New Jersey for Tuesday's game. Milicic has been dealing with an ankle injury.

Milicic sprained his ankle during the first quarter of Friday's 111-92 loss to the Heat. He did not travel with the team to Memphis and is being considered day to day at this point.
Analysis: Milicic will miss at least one game with his ailment and will now be an injury risk heading into Fantasy Week 24 (April 4-13). Fantasy owners will have to continue to monitor his status moving forward to see if and when the 25-year-old can get back on the court. Milicic has been somewhat productive this season and can be considered a low-end Fantasy center in most formats, when healthy.

Analysis: Milicic has had a good year for the Timberwolves, but injuries still plague the big man. He's averaging 9.0 points and 5.3 rebounds over his 67 games. Those numbers are good enough to make him a low-end center option in deeper Fantasy leagues. Owners should keep an eye on him to see if he plays on Saturday. If so he may be worth using for Week 24 (April 4-13).
News: Not only was Timberwolves center Darko Milicic scoreless in Thursday's loss to the Mavericks, but he pulled down just two rebounds in the process. He added a block, but turned the ball over twice on the dreadful night in 15 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: As unfortunate as failing to score in a game played in is, Milicic has done it six times this season. Though he is having a career year in scoring, blocks, steals and assists, Milicic is still not living up to his draft value as the No. 2 pick in 2003. He may never pan out completely, but the 7-footer has the ability to contribute in Fantasy play, especially category-based leagues. Consider him to be a low-end option in those formats because of his defensive abilities.
News: After failing to practice Tuesday because of an illness, Timberwolves center Darko Milicic gave it a go on Wednesday. Against the Jazz, he wasn't limited on the floor and still saw his normal starter's minutes. In that time, Milicic scored 10 points on 3 of 7 shooting and sank all four of his free-throws in the process. He also pulled down six rebounds and assisted on a pair of baskets. On the defensive end, the former no. 2 overall pick got his hands on a steal and recorded a block for the fifth straight game.
Analysis: Milicic was under the weather a day before, but he seemed to be fine on Wednesday. He scored and rebounded better than his season averages, and was serviceable on both ends of the floor. Fantasy owners should feel free to utilize the Yugoslavian big man as they normally would. We like Darko as a low-end option in the majority of formats, with some upside in category-based leagues.

Analysis: Darko recently missed three games to be with his wife for the birth of the couple's second child. His play of late has not been very good. He is averaging 6.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks over his last four appearances while playing only around 20 minutes per game. We suggest going with alternatives until Darko can prove healthy and productive again, though is worth activating in category leagues if you need to make up ground in the blocks department.
News: After missing three games to be with his wife for the birth of the couple's second child, Minnesota center Darko Milicic returned to the starting lineup Monday against the Mavericks. He saw a bit less time than normal, managing just six points on 3 of 5 shooting and four rebounds in 19 minutes of action. Milicic added a steal, block and assist on the night.
Analysis: Milicic wasn't injured, so the hiatus may prove to be a good thing in the long run. He was eased into the lineup Monday, and we expect him to get back into his normal role sooner than later. Milicic is averaging 9.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this season, good enough to warrant him low-end Fantasy value in the majority of formats when healthy.

Analysis: Darko is back motivated and in line for some favorable matchups. The Timberwolves will face three teams that allow over 100-plus points per game in Week 20 (March 7-13) and Milicic makes for a solid sleeper option as a No. 2 center given the matchups.

Milicic is averaging 7.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over his last 10 contests.
Analysis: Milicic is expected to practice with the team on Sunday and should be ready to go for Monday's contest against the Mavericks. Minnesota plays four times during Fantasy Week 20 (March 7-13) against Dallas, Indiana, Utah and Golden State, so owners will want to get him active. Milicic continues to be a solid source for rebounds and blocks and can be considered a solid No. 2 Fantasy center moving forward.

Analysis: Continue to monitor what happens with Milicic and hope he can return soon. Over his last 10 games, Milicic is averaging 7.0 points, 4.9 boards and 1.3 blocks per outing. Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end starting center option in deeper category-based formats when active and healthy.

According to the team's official website he's missing the game due to personal reasons. He scored four points, grabbed five boards and blocked a shot in his 26 minutes on Tuesday night -- a 90-79 loss to the Lakers.
Analysis: Darko hasn't been consistent in his NBA career, so missing the game in Detroit is probably a good idea. While he doesn't have to post huge numbers, it is nice when a center makes an impact. Over his last 10 games, Milicic is averaging 7.0 points, 4.9 boards and 1.3 blocks per outing. Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end starting center option in deeper category-based formats. Owners in daily leagues should reserve him until he returns to the team.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic had a better performance on Wednesday as the Timberwolves played in the second game of back-to-back contests to open the second half of the season. Milicic shot 40 percent from the floor on Wednesday night against Memphis, finishing with eight points. He added seven rebounds, three blocks, an assist and a steal in his 30 minutes of action. His efforts would not be enough as the Timberwolves lost to the Grizzlies, 104-95.
Analysis: Milicic has been inconsistent for the T'wolves this season. He doesn't have to produce huge numbers playing alongside Michael Beasley and Kevin Love, but Minnesota would appreciate more steady play. Over his last 10 games Milicic is averaging 8.6 points, 4.3 boards and 1.6 blocks per contest. While his numbers aren't too impressive, Darko still holds Fantasy value. Owners should continue to view him as a low-end starting center option in deeper formats.

Analysis: Darko has missed the team's last three games due to injury, but he was able to practice on Sunday and Monday. That is a good sign that he might be able to go. With a shortened slate due to the All-Star break, however, and no 'guarantee,' it may be wise to go with healthy alternatives where possible. When healthy, Darko has been a solid source for boards and blocks with some decent scoring from time to time.

Milicic sustained the injury earlier in the first quarter of Monday's contest at New Orleans, while logging just four minutes before departing. [Milicic's hip] is sore. I dont know to what extent or how serious it is, coach Kurt Rambis said.
Analysis: No real surprise here with Minnesota playing a back-to-back that Darko is out. The 25-year-old has turned in some decent performances in his last few games, scoring in double figures in four of his last six contests. He has not recorded a double-double since Jan. 13 against Washington, but has reached double figures in six games since. Milicic has also shot better recently and knocked down at least 53 percent of his attempts in his last two games prior to Monday. Fantasy owners should monitor his health status for Minnesota's game at Houston on Tuesday night. When healthy, he makes for a mid-range Fantasy option at center in deeper formats.

He went 3 of 4 from the free-throw line and also grabbed eight rebounds to go along with three blocks and a steal in 27 minutes.
Analysis: Darko continues to make his presence felt in the paint as the former first-round draft pick is averaging 6.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks over his last five contests. While he remains a bit limited on the offensive side of the ball, his rebounding and shot blocking ability makes him a valuable option in most category-based formats. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy center heading into Fantasy Week 15 (Jan. 31-Feb. 6).

Milicic also had three assists and one blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Darko had been held out of practice but his ankle was good enough to play on Monday. However with the bad ankle, Darko should be considered a tad risky for Week 14 (Jan. 24-30). The Timberwolves do have a very favorable four-game slate ahead and owners in a pinch looking for a stopgap at center can still think of Darko as a worthy play.
News: The Timberwolves officially list C Darko Milicic as 'questionable' for Monday's game against Houston, though they do list him among their 'probable starters' for the game. Milicic left Wednesday's game in Los Angeles in the third quarter after spraining his left ankle.
Analysis: Darko has been held out of practice in the hopes of allowing him to recover. He recently proved to get past lingering hip issues and had been playing big minutes again after being limited. With the bad ankle, Darko should be considered a tad risky for Week 14. However, the Timberwolves do have a very favorable four-game slate ahead and owners in a pinch looking for a stopgap at center can still think of Darko as a worthy play.
News: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Timberwolves C Darko Milicic (left ankle) didn't practice Friday, two days after hurting himself against the Clippers.
Analysis: Milicic has dealt with lingering hip issues this season and has had injury problems throughout his career. With Minnesota having plenty of time off before their next game on Tuesday, Milicic could be ready to take the court by then. This is something Fantasy owners should keep tabs on heading into Week 14 (Jan. 24-30). The Timberwolves play four games in that scoring period, which would give Darko a bit more Fantasy value. When healthy, owners should view him as a low-end center option. He's a good source of blocks and field goal percentage.

Analysis: Milicic has dealt with lingering hip issues this season and has had injury problems throughout his career. With Minnesota having plenty of time off before their next game, Milicic could be ready to take the court.

He was an efficient 11 of 16 from the field but missed both of his foul shots while playing 34 minutes. Milicic also chipped in with four blocked shots and two steals in the defeat.
Analysis: Milicic has gotten his scoring up of late and is averaging 13.4 points with 7.2 rebounds and three blocks over his last five contests. The former No. 2 overall pick has dealt with lingering hip issues this season, but it is nice to see him consistently producing for the Timberwolves. Scoring will always be the wild card for Milicic, as if he could ever average 15 points per game, he would be an unbelievable Fantasy option. Still, he is a solid source for blocks and Fantasy owners should take advantage of his recent play and have him active in deeper leagues for the current scoring period.
News: Despite dealing with a sinus infection for more than two days, Timberwolves C Darko Milicic posted his fifth double-double of the season in Thursday's win over the Wizards. He scored 14 points on 7 of 16 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds in the process. Milicic had the home crowd on its feet after two strong dunks, but it rose to a new level when he blocked Yi Jianlian's dunk attempt with less than two minutes left in the game. Darko went on to block another shot and chipped in two assists on the night in 33 minutes of action.
Analysis: The former No. 2 overall pick in the "Lebron-'Melo-Wade" draft of 2003 has always been considered a bust, but for what it's worth -- he's having a career year. Milicic put in his second double-double in three games and he's reached double figures in scoring in four of the last seven contests. While the numbers are still pedestrian, he is playing his best ball of the season. It's nice to see him play well despite dealing with health issues. Still, Darko should be avoided in Week 13 (Jan. 16-23) considering the Timberwolves play in just two games. Otherwise, he is a low-end Fantasy option.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves C Darko Milicic said on Tuesday night that he is still dealing with a sinus infection that has caused him headaches since the beginning of the season.
Analysis: Darko has also dealt with lingering hip issues and has been very inconsistent lately as a result. He did have a double-double on Jan. 9 in San Antonio, but is averaging just 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds over his last five games. We love Darko's upside and the numbers that made you rush to grab him earlier this season -- especially in terms of boards and blocks -- will be there in some form eventually. However, right now, he is a player to avoid activating until he can prove he's over these issues.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic recorded his first double-double since Dec. 14 on Sunday night against the Spurs. He scored 11 points and hauled in 10 rebounds in the 94-91 loss. Analysis: After back-to-back poor outings, Milicic got back on track on Sunday and is averaging 9.2 points with 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists over his last five contests. He is also posting over a block per game over that span while still seeing solid minutes as a starter. While he has been a disappointment since being taken No. 2 overall in the 2003 draft, he is having a career year for the Timberwolves and has regained some of his Fantasy value. Keep Milicic active in deeper leagues with San Antonio, Washington and Orlando on the schedule for Week 12 (Jan. 10-16).
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic didn't let his lingering hip injury hold him back on Saturday, but foul trouble did. He would scored 16 points on an 8-for-9 shooting performance and grab just two rebounds in his 20 minutes of action against New Jersey. Milicic added three assists and two steals for the Timberwolves. Minnesota would beat New Jersey, 103-88, on Saturday.
Analysis: Milicic was held out of practice heading into the game, but was able to go for the T'wolves. While he did shoot a high percentage from the field, Darko has to stay out of foul trouble so he can produce better numbers for Fantasy owners. He's averaging 8.4 points and 3.0 rebounds over his last five games. Darko has Fantasy value, but isn't 100 percent yet. Despite Minnesota having four games in Week 11 (Jan. 3-9), Darko is a risky start in most Fantasy formats. Consider starting him in deeper leagues.

However, Milicic is averaging just 5.2 points, 2.6 boards, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 assists over his last five games and is someone to consider reserving until he can prove both healthy and productive again.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic left Wednesday's game against Denver briefly, but would return to the game briefly in the third quarter before sitting the rest of the game. He left with an apparent left hip contusion in the second quarter. Milicic shot 1 for 2 from the field, finishing with two points in his 14 minutes of action. He blocked three shots, grabbed three rebounds and had one assist.
Analysis: Over his last five games, Milicic is averaging just 5.2 points, 2.6 boards, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 assists per outing. Wednesday was his fourth game back from an ankle injury, so the news of another injury is definitely disappointing. Injuries have hurt him this season, and despite garnering a lot of attention in Fantasy leagues. If he can bounce back from yet another setback, Milicic will be worth using as a No. 2 center in most formats.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic left Wednesday's game against Denver with an apparent left hip contusion. Milicic, playing in his fourth game since recovering from an ankle injury, scored two points in 10 minutes of playing time against the Nuggets.
Analysis: Milicic has been slowed by injuries all season and has seen his production decrease as a result. After a strong start the season, Milicic's scoring averaging has dropped to 9.1 points per game and has reached double digits in scoring just once in his last four outings. Monitor his status to see if this latest injury will force him to miss more playing time. When healthy, he should be considered a quality option in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic returned to the lineup Wednesday night and finished with six points in the Timberwolves' 112-107 loss to Utah. Analysis: Milicic had played just six minutes in Minnesota's last three games as the seven-footer dealt with an ankle injury. Prior to the injury, he had posted 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in his last two games. Milicic remains a streaky shooter but has managed to contribute in other areas this season -- he added two blocks and two steals in Wednesday's game. When healthy, he should be considered a must-start in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic (ankle) was active against the Jazz on Wednesday night, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Milicic missed three games with his injury and had been putting up big production prior.
Analysis: Milicic had a 25-11 game in Golden State on Dec. 14 and had 16 points the next night. He's really gained Fantasy value fast for Minnesota, but he needs to prove he's healthy again on the court. When healthy, Milicic can be active in most formats at this point.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic tried to play on his injured ankle on Monday night in Los Angeles but just could not get it done. Milicic managed just five minutes before leaving for good. He had only a block to show for his time on the floor and is considered day to day.
Analysis: Darko has expressed a desire to play it cautious with this injury and apparently realized it wasn't smart to play five minutes into the game. We're not sure why he even played at all. Milicic may have to miss some more time and is considered day to day for now. He's a risky play going forward but has earned the right to be called viable in any format, when healthy.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves C Darko Milicic (ankle) said that he will "try" to play Monday night at the Clippers. Milicic missed Saturday's game after spraining his right ankle in Friday night's loss to the Blazers.
Analysis: Darko has expressed a desire to play it cautious with this injury. The report even noted that Darko did not sound too confident about playing on Monday. With the Timberwolves slated for three games in Week 9 (Dec. 20-26), Darko remains an injury risk in weekly formats. He is enjoying a breakout season of sorts and is worth owning as a No. 2 center candidate, but right now he is not 100 percent.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic said on Saturday that he "hopes" to play in Monday's game against the Clippers. Milicic missed Saturday's game after spraining his right ankle in Friday night's loss to the Blazers. "I'm really going to try to take caution," Milicic said.
Analysis: Darko was hurt on the opening tip of Friday's game and had to leave the game. He said on Saturday that he hoped giving his ankle an extra day to heal will allow him to go on Monday, but that is all very circumstantial. It will depend on how he feels on Monday and it is likely not going to be decided until game-time. Fantasy owners should have healthy alternatives prepared for Fantasy Week 9 (Dec. 20-26) and continue to monitor his progress through lineup deadlines. The Timberwolves are slated for three games during the scoring period.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic did not play in Saturday's game against the Nuggets after spraining his right ankle in Friday night's loss to the Blazers. Milicic injured his right ankle on the opening tipoff and played less than a minute in the 107-102 loss.
Analysis: Milicic had just gotten over a left ankle injury earlier in the week and has been injury prone since coming into the league in 2003-04. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his most recent injury to see when he might be able to return. The 25-year-old is having a career year, averaging almost 10 points with six rebounds and two blocks per contest. However, he will be an injury risk heading into Fantasy Week 9 (Dec. 20-26). Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his most recent injury to see when he might be able to return. Analysis: Darko is playing through some bumps and bruises, but he is playing well. He has played 30-plus minutes in three of his last four games and has emerged as a solid play in Fantasy after years of being a league laughing stock. View him as a good No. 2 option in leagues that require two centers.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic said prior to Tuesday's game against Golden State that his leg wasn't 100 percent healthy yet but that he's going to play through the pain. If that was the case on Tuesday night, Darko does well with pain. He scored a career and team-high 25 points on 12 of 19 shooting over 32 minutes. Milicic added 11 rebounds for the double-double and also had a steal in his career game.
Analysis: This was just Darko's third double-double of the season. He had a string of 20-point games and a couple double-doubles in late November, but went right back to struggling thereafter. Hopefully he can keep this up, but until he can prove it, he's not going to be at elite levels. He's still worth using in most Fantasy leagues at this point though.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic, who played both games over the weekend after missing a game with a quad contusion, told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune on Tuesday that his leg still isn't quite right. He plans to keep playing, though.
Analysis: Milicic played only 14 minutes Saturday at Chicago, which may have had something to do with the leg injury. Keep an eye on his playing time over the next few games. When healthy, his shot blocking makes him worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy center even though he isn't a high-end source of points or rebounds.
News: Timberwolves center Darko Milicic played 37 minutes on Friday night, scoring 11 points and grabbing five rebounds. He missed Wednesday's game with a quad contusion, but seemed OK against his former team. He shot 3 for 8 from the field and went 5 for 6 from the foul line. Milicic would also block a career-high seven shots in Minnesota's 109-99 win over Detroit. "He's such an unselfish player," Wolves coach Kurt Rambis said. "He can gain satisfaction from contributing in so many different ways as a basketball player."
Analysis: Milicic is the top shot-blocker in the NBA as he's been averaging 2.67 per contest. He showed that and more on Friday. Over his last five games, Milicic is averaging 9.8 points, 5.3 boards, 2.5 assists and 3.0 blocks. He doesn't have to be the main post presence in Minnesota, which helps out his Fantasy value. Darko is worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy center, when healthy. Keep using him, especially when he plays at a thin center position.
News: According to Minnesota's official website, Timberwolves center Darko Milicic will try to play on Friday against the Pistons. He missed Wednesday's game with a quad contusion.
Analysis: Milicic is averaging 9.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks this year for the T'wolves. He's finally playing well in the NBA -- it just took him a few seasons. When healthy, Darko is worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy center. Keep rolling with him, especially because he plays at a thin position.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic, who missed Wednesday's game with a quad contusion, participated in practice Thursday but was hobbled, according to the team's official website. "He looked OK," coach Kurt Rambis said. Milicic is questionable for Friday's game against the Pistons.
Analysis: Milicic has finally begun to live up to his promise this season, averaging 9.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. Those aren't exactly high-end numbers, but they're plenty serviceable in Fantasy. When healthy, Milicic is worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy center.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic missed Wednesday's game against the Thunder with his quad contusion. Milicic was not expected to play in the game but had been a game-time decision.
Analysis: Darko is reportedly still hurting from a bruised quad muscle. He is averaging 9.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game over his last five. With production like that, he's no longer worthless in Fantasy, but Fantasy owners in daily formats will need to look for healthy alternatives in the meantime.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves center Darko Milicic (quad) is considered a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against Oklahoma City. However, the report adds that it seems unlikely that he will play.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune updated Minnesota C Darko Milicic's injury status heading into Wednesday's game against the Thunder. Milicic injured his quad during Monday's game and is just day to day with the contusion.
Analysis: In double figures for the third time in four games on Monday, Milicic has definitely been playing better of late. He's averaging 9.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game over his last five. With production like that, he's no longer worthless in Fantasy. In fact, Darko can be active in most deeper Fantasy leagues, when healthy.
News: The New York Daily News reported that Minnesota C Darko Milicic could not complete Monday's game in New York with a bruised quad. Milicic played eight minutes in the game and was playing well before leaving with the injury. He went 4 for 4 for 10 points and one rebound. He also blocked a shot. He should be considered day to day.
Owners will want to hope this injury is nothing serious.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic scored 12 points on 6 of 15 shooting on Wednesday night in Dallas. He added eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 36 minutes. After scoring 20-plus points in three straight games, Milicic has been held to 21 combined points over his last two games.
Analysis: Darko has become a Fantasy darling after long being the butt of many jokes throughout his NBA career. The reason for his recent success is that he is finally getting the minutes and touches he was never able to get over a consistent basis at any point in his career with around 13-15 shots per game. The minutes are also allowing him to do what he's always been able to do (rebound and block shots) at a higher volume than ever. To that end, he is averaging 3.8 blocks over his last five games and 8.6 rebounds. Fantasy owners should continue to believe in Darko as long as the playing time and touches remain high -- even if the scoring gets a little spotty here and there.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic had 22 points, eight rebounds and five blocks for the Timberwolves, who blew a fourth-quarter lead for the third time this season. The Spurs would rally from 20 points down to take the game 113-109. Milicic and Kevin Love owned Tim Duncan, DeJuan Blair and Tiago Splitter down low, combining for 29 points and 18 rebounds in the first half as the Wolves built an 18-point lead. Milicic would end up with seven turnovers in his 33 minutes of action before fouling out of the game. He shot 10 for 17 from the field and went 2 for 5 from the foul line.
Analysis: Despite the turnovers, this was a good outing for Milicic. This marked his fifth straight game in double figures and third straight with 20-plus points. He's also averaging 8.6 boards over this five-game span. Milicic is worth keeping tabs on through the rest of the scoring period as he keeps drawing more attention to himself. He's worth using in deeper Fantasy leagues right now, but if he can keep this production up, his value will follow.
News:Darko Milicic had a career night in the Timberwolves' loss to the Lakers on Friday night. The disappointing No. 2 pick of the 2003 NBA Draft posted career highs with 23 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks. The scoring output easily surpasses his previous season high of 13 points he tallied on Nov. 15.
Analysis: Despite the outstanding night, chances are you probably had Milicic sitting on your bench against a tough Lakers team. Milicic is now sporting an average of 15.6 points per game his last three games -- not bad for a career 6.1 PPG player. It still might be too early to call Milicic a viable Fantasy option but keep an eye on him as he carries an added bonus with his eligibility at center and decent rebounding stats.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic reached a new season high for scoring on Monday in a loss at Charlotte. Milicic shot 5 of 11 from the field and scored 13 points to go with 12 rebounds for the double-double. He added four blocked shots in his best game of the young season. Milicic even dished out five assists over 38 minutes.
Analysis: With Milicic playing well, the Wolves gave him more minutes. Makes sense. He's still averaging just 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game over his last five. That is better than his season averages thus far but it shows he's still not doing this consistently. Until he can put together lines like Monday's consistently, Darko is only a Fantasy option in deeper leagues. His value is higher than it should be because he is eligible to play center.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic finally had a solid game on Tuesday in a loss to the Lakers. Milicic played 35 minutes and shot 5 of 11 from the field to post a season-high 10 points. He added seven rebounds, two steals and blocked two shots.
Analysis: Darko is still averaging a pathetic 4.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game over his last five contests and he's still shooting just 10 for 33 over that span. If he can put together a string of games like Tuesday's, his Fantasy value will improve. That said, at the moment it is very close to zero.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic's struggles continued in Friday's 113-103 loss to the Hawks. Milicic had just four points on 2 of 7 shooting from the floor. He did grab eight rebounds but played just 21 minutes in the defeat. "Looking awful on the court on offense. Disgusts myself," Milicic said. He also had three blocks and an assist in the contest.
Analysis: Darko's shooting woes continued on Friday and is now just 6 for 35 on the season. That translates into a 17 percent shooting percentage, which is awful for a center. Darko is only averaging 21 minutes a game as a starter and is making it very difficult to use in Fantasy right now. He is averaging 2.4 blocks per game, but that is simply not enough production. Fantasy owners may want to think about sitting him down until he starts producing.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic continues to start but it is hard to figure out why. On Tuesday against the Magic, Milicic failed to score for the second straight game as he shot 0 for 6 from the field over 18 minutes. He added four rebounds and three blocks.
Analysis: Darko is averaging 20.4 minutes per game as a starter and has shot just 4 for 28 for the season. That is 14 percent from the field from a center. With just 4.8 rebounds per game, he's not giving Fantasy owners much to work with. His saving grace is 2.6 blocks per contest. Unfortunately, that only would help Fantasy owners in the deepest of category-based leagues who need help with blocks.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic got the start in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Kings. He played 23 minutes and contributed just six points with four rebounds, but he blocked four shots.
Analysis: Darko has always been a solid shot blocker and a decent rebounder, but he has never gotten big minutes over a consistent basis before coming to Minnesota. He should see plenty of opportunities to contribute this season, but remains little more than a low-end contributor for deeper category leagues where he can be of help for blocks.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic was back in action for Friday's preseason finale against the Bucks. Milicic, who had been sidelined with a sore neck, scored 12 points and added 10 rebounds in the 119-118. win. He played 30 minutes and also chipped in four assists and two blocks in the victory.
Analysis: The fact that Milicic was able to play on Friday, bodes well for Fantasy owners who had concerns about his health heading into the season. He is slated to be the starting center for the Timberwolves this season and could be inline for a breakout season if he can stay healthy. Consider him worthy as a late-round pick in deeper drafts with upside.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic was able to practice on Wednesday but the Minneapolis Star Tribune is still reporting his beck injury will be a factor heading into the regular season.
Analysis: Darko is only averaging 5.7 points and 4.3 rebounds over 20 minutes per game in six preseason contests and now he's dealing with some nagging neck problems which could follow him into the regular season. He last played on Sunday and scored seven points in 22 minutes. His injuries are not considered serious and he should be fine shortly after the year begins. Milicic started 18 games for the Wolves last season, averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. Under the right conditions, Milicic could be a steal late in drafts. That said, he's going to need to prove himself first.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic missed Tuesday's preseason game against the Pacers with neck and shoulder injuries. Milicic's injuries are not considered too serious and he will still be the team's starter in the regular season. Kosta Koufos started in place of Milicic.
Analysis: Darko is only averaging 5.7 points and 4.3 rebounds over 20 minutes per game in six preseason contests. He last played on Sunday and scored seven points in 22 minutes. His injuries are not considered serious and he should be fine for the regular season. Milicic started 18 games for the Wolves last season, averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. But that came with Darko out of shape after getting no real playing time with the Knicks. Under the right conditions this year, Darko could be a real steal in the late rounds.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic got the start at center for Minnesota against the Lakers in London as the two teams made their preseason debuts. Milicic shot 4 for 5 from the field and finished with eight points, six rebounds, five assists and two blocks.
Analysis: After signing an extension with the Timberwolves in July, Darko Milicic said he prepared himself over the summer more diligently than he ever had as a professional and reported to Wolves training camp determined to finally make it work. Milicic started 18 games for the Wolves last season, averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. But that came with Darko out of shape after getting no real playing time with the Knicks. Under the right conditions this year, Darko could be a real steal in the late rounds.
News: After signing an extension with the Timberwolves in July, Darko Milicic said he prepared himself over the summer more diligently than he ever had as a professional and reported to Wolves training camp determined to finally make it work. Coach Kurt Rambis visited Milicic in Europe and sent assistant Bill Laimbeer to Serbia for two weeks this month to prepare him for a bigger role than he's ever had. He's lost 10 pounds and has some definition in his upper body that was not there last season. "Last February, I almost shut it down," Milicic said. "(Now I'm) much better. I was working on a lot of running, running sprints. That's what I do, two months before I do a lot of running, sprints outside, try to be lighter."
Analysis: Rambis said the defense and rebounding prowess are there, but he needs a willingness and comfort with attacking the defense. Milicic made no secret of his desire to return home and play in Serbia after the season ended. But then Rambis and the struggling Wolves gave him the starting role he had been looking for all along. Milicic started 18 games for the Wolves last season, averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. But that came with Darko out of shape after getting no real playing time with the Knicks. Under the right conditions this year, Darko could be a real steal in the late rounds.
News: The Timberwolves have announced the signing of free-agent center Darko Milicic (MIL-ih-chitsch). The former second overall pick was planning on returning to play in Europe before a February trade to Minnesota energized his career. The Timberwolves liked the 7-footer's presence on the defensive end and his versatility on offense. They agreed to terms on a four-year deal worth $16 million in guaranteed money earlier this month but could not officially sign the contract until July 8. The Timberwolves are Milicic's fifth team in seven years. In 24 games with the Timberwolves, Milicic averaged 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
Analysis: Less than five months ago, Milicic was done with the NBA. Carrying the label of one of the biggest busts in draft history, the former No. 2 overall draft pick who was taken ahead of Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade was ready to head back to Europe and continue his basketball career closer to his homeland of Serbia. After an encouraging finish to the season with the lowly Timberwolves, Milicic warmed to the idea of staying in Minnesota. Fantasy owners should expect a modest increase over his '10 T-Wolves numbers, but that makes him little more than a reserve Fantasy center. He'll be a late-round sleeper, but little more.
News: The Timberwolves agreed to a four-year deal on Thursday with Darko Milicic to make him their starting center. The deal includes about $16 million in guaranteed money, with the final year of the contract only partially guaranteed. "Minnesota, from the moment Darko got there at the trade deadline in February, had really shown a commitment to him," agent Marc Cornstein said. "It's really the first place he's been, and he's been in quite a few places, that made it feel like home. I'm thrilled we were able to get this done this quickly." The Timberwolves declined comment on the deals, which cannot become official until July 8.

After an encouraging finish to the season with the lowly Timberwolves, Milicic warmed to the idea of staying in Minnesota. His numbers in Minnesota may have been enough to gain him a big deal, but he averaged just 8.3 points with 5.6 rebounds per game. He also averaged 1.4 blocks. Fantasy owners could expect a modest increase over those figures, but that makes him little more than a reserve Fantasy center. He'll be a late-round sleeper pick, but little more.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Darko Milicic has informed the Timberwolves that he wants to play in Minnesota next season. "He had a really enjoyable two months, he likes the way we play and he responded well to (coach) Kurt (Rambis)," team president David Kahn said of the free-agent center, who averaged 8.3 points in 24 games after being traded to Minnesota in February. "And he sees that even though we're not winning yet, there are some pieces here to build around and other pieces to come."
Analysis: It was expected that Milicic would return to Europe this offseason, but it appears like he might want to stay in the NBA. Keep an eye on what happens, but he could be worth a late-round pick in deep leagues in 2010-11.
News: Timberwolves F/C Kevin Love suffered a thumb injury in Monday's game against San Antonio late in the fourth quarter, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The extent of the injury was not known following the game. Darko Milicic could see more playing time in his absence.
Analysis: Love was slated to be re-evaluated on Tuesday and his status for Wednesday's season-finale has yet to be determined. The Wolves don't have anything left to play for, which makes Love a very risky play in daily lineup leagues if he's a game-time decision. Darko has had a few bright spots in the final weeks of the regular season, but unless Love is ruled out completely we don't recommend activating him even as a flier in deeper leagues.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic (jaw/concussion) returned after a one-game absence on Wednesday versus Golden State. He played 33 minutes and appeared healthy enough as he scored 16 points on 8 of 17 shooting. He added seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
Analysis: Milicic played better following the concussion than he did before. Almost. He's averaging 11.8 ppg over his last four games played and that comes with 5.5 boards, 1.5 steals, 2.3 blocks and a decent shooting percentage. Can it be true? Has he become eligible in 12-team and deeper leagues? Yes, he just about has.
News: Center Darko Milicic was out of Minnesota's lineup Sunday night at Oklahoma City after sustaining a bruised jaw in the Timberwolves' game the previous night. A former No. 2 overall draft pick, Milicic had started eight straight games and 12 of the last 14 for Minnesota. He was acquired by the Timberwolves in a February trade and moved into the starting lineup in early March.
Analysis: Milicic is averaging 5.9 points and 4.5 rebounds this season. Since entering the starting lineup, he has scored 10-plus points in four of his last six games with around five boards per game and good contributions in blocks. The Timberwolves play five games during Fantasy Week 24 (April 5-14). Consider Milicic a risky play down the final stretch.
News: According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Timberwolves C Darko Milicic (jaw) was taken to a local hospital to make sure he did not have any fractures after taking an elbow to the jaw that forced him out of Saturday's game against the Heat. He was released in time to make the team's flight to Oklahoma City, where they will play on Sunday night.
Analysis: Darko has surprisingly become a viable Fantasy option in the last couple of weeks. He has scored 10-plus points in four of his last six games with around five boards per game and good contributions in blocks. He isn't going to be starting in a lot of leagues for the final scoring period of the season, but if he can play through the injury on Sunday, he could of use in a pinch in larger leagues where center help is scarce off the wire.
News: Minnesota center Darko Milicic continues to play well for the Timberwolves as the season comes to a close. Milicic had 15 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, three assists and one steal Wednesday against Sacramento. This was Milicic's third game with double figures in points in his past four games and his second double-double in his past six outings.
Analysis: Milicic has taken advantage of the playing time given to him by Minnesota since being acquired in a trade from the Knicks. Milicic plans to return to Europe when the season is over, but maybe this recent stretch might change his mind. Consider Milicic a flier as a No. 2 center in deeper Fantasy leagues for the last few games of the year.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic returned from a one-game absence due to an illness on Tuesday against the Suns. Milicic played 17 minutes out of the starting lineup and scored four points on 2 of 4 shooting. He added two boards.
Analysis: Milicic is getting decent minutes and doing little with them, especially in rebounding and scoring. He really only needs to be on Fantasy rosters in the deeper leagues.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic (illness) was able to take part in Tuesday's morning shootaround, according to the team's official Web site. He will play Tuesday night in Phoenix.
Analysis: Darko is averaging 7.8 rebounds in his last four games, but he is only adding around six points and a couple of assists along with that. He is not a viable Fantasy option in most formats and is likely playing his final games in the NBA as he plans to go to Europe next season.
News: Timberwolves C Darko Milicic (illness) was able to practice Monday afternoon in Phoenix, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He is "likely" to play in Tuesday's game at the Suns.
Analysis: Darko is averaging 7.8 rebounds in his last four games, but he is only adding around six points and a couple of assists along with that. He is not a viable Fantasy option in most formats and is likely playing his final games in the NBA as he plans to go to Europe next season.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic started in place of the suspended Ryan Hollins on Wednesday in a loss to Denver. Darko did not disappoint as he ripped 12 rebounds in the game. He only scored six points, however, on 2 of 6 shooting. He added a block.
Analysis: Darko played just as well as Hollins was and might get to remain as a starter when the two-game suspension is up. That said, he won't score enough to make Fantasy owners happy. Even as a starter, Milicic only has low-end Fantasy value in the deeper formats.
News:Al Jefferson served the second game of his two-game suspension Saturday night when the Timberwolves played the Houston Rockets. He will return to the lineup when the Timberwolves play Dallas in their next game. Darko Milicic had nine rebounds, five assists and two points in 32 minutes with Jefferson out Saturday against the Rockets.
Analysis: Ryan Hollins and even Darko stepped up in the absence of Jefferson, but they will return to reduced roles starting in Fantasy Week 20 (March 8-14). Jefferson will not be facing any more disciplinary action -- at least for the remainder of the regular season -- with his court date not coming until late April. Feel safe starting him from here on out.
News: The Minnesota Timberwolves are giving newcomer Darko Milicic a chance in the starting lineup. It's a brief experiment, while Al Jefferson serves a two-game suspension after his arrest on suspicion of DWI last weekend. Milicic picked up four fouls in Wednesday's loss at Dallas, along with six points and two rebounds in 14 minutes during his first start of the season. Jefferson will also sit Saturday against Houston. Coach Kurt Rambis said Thursday that Milicic probably will go back to the bench next week, but praised his progress and potential since arriving in a trade with New York last month. Milicic says his comfort level and conditioning are increasing, though his current plan remains to return to Europe after the season.
Analysis: While Milicic could see some of the most minutes he has seen in the NBA, it is just a temporary experiment by coach Kurt Rambis. Once Jefferson returns from his suspension, Milicic can go back to waivers.
News: The Timberwolves suspended center Al Jefferson for the next two games without pay after his arrest on suspicion of DWI. The Minnesota State Patrol says a trooper stopped the 25-year-old Jefferson on Interstate 394 early Sunday for speeding and changing lanes without signaling. Jefferson was taken to a hospital for a blood test, then to Hennepin County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree driving while impaired. He was released after an hour in jail. David Kahn, Timberwolves president of basketball operations, says Jefferson "feels terrible" about what happened. But Kahn says it's appropriate that Jefferson be suspended. Jefferson led the Timberwolves with 19 points in Saturday night's 110-91 loss to Portland. A court appearance is scheduled for April 23. With Jefferson out, Darko Milicic will see an increase in minutes. He practiced with the starters Monday afternoon, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Analysis: Milicic has played in five games with Minnesota since being acquired in a trade from the Knicks. He is averaging 4.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in 20.4 minutes, but he could see a boost in Fantasy Week 19 with Jefferson out. Milicic's biggest impact has come on defense. In five games in Minnesota he has 11 blocks, so in category based leagues where you need a center, grab Milicic now. We don't expect Milicic to develop into the player the Pistons were hoping when they drafted him No. 2 overall in 2003 (behind LeBron James and ahead of Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade), but he can be a good waiver wire addition with Jefferson out. "I'm just trying to play as well as I can," Milicic said in a recent interview with CBSSports.com.
News: Minnesota C Darko Milicic played in just his second game with his new team on Tuesday at Miami. He saw 25 minutes and shot 2 for 3 for four points. He added two rebounds and three blocks. "Hes very impressive," coach Kurt Rambis told CBSSports.com before the game. "Hes a guy that can make an impact at both ends of the floor. He understands the game. He has the chance to be a unique player."
Analysis: We don't care what Rambis thinks of Darko, until he actually does anything worth noting on the basketball court, he only has low-end Fantasy appeal.
News: The start of what might be Darko Milicic's last chance in the NBA was a good one. The 24-year-old, who hadn't played since Nov. 13 and only played eight games for the Knicks, was effective for the Timberwolves, finishing with 8 points and 8 rebounds. When he was on the floor, Minnesota outscored the Thunder by 35 points. "I didn't expect to play as much as I did," said Milicic, who is admittedly out of game shape. "I fought through the first run, and it was hard. After that, my legs were out, but that's regular for not being in shape." Coach Kurt Rambis added, "Obviously, he has to work on his conditioning and stamina, but I thought he had fun. He probably enjoyed playing again. He obviously has tremendous abilities and capabilities.
Analysis: Milicic might find a home in the NBA after all. But the feel-good story doesn't really mean anything to Fantasy owners. Until Milicic sees significant minutes and produces on a consistent basis, he can remain on waivers in all formats. He has no Fantasy value at the moment.
News: Knicks C Darko Milicic has reportedly been traded to the Timberwolves for PF Brian Cardinal, according to ESPN.
Analysis: Milicic has not played since Nov. 13, and is averaging 2 points and 2.3 rebounds on the season. Even with a change of scenery in Minnesota he will continue to have no Fantasy value.
News: Knicks C Darko Milicic was listed as inactive for Thursday's game against Charlotte. He had been dealing with an illness, but was not listed on the team's official injury report.
Analysis: Sick or not, Darko isn't a part of the team's rotation. He has been inactive more often than not and is already talking about his life after the NBA. He has absolutely no Fantasy appeal right now. Next season, he expects to play in Europe.
News: Knicks C Darko Milicic missed Sunday's game against Indiana with an upset stomach. He remains day to day. He has not played in a game since Nov. 13.
Analysis: Milicic is going to be on the inactive team when he does return most likely and Fantasy owners should not pay much attention to him in Fantasy. He is not a part of the team's rotation and likely never will be.
News: Knicks C Darko Milicic did not play on Friday against the Hawks because of an upset stomach. He is questionable for Sunday against the Pacers.
Analysis: Darko has done little this season with the Knicks and continues to be a bust overall. He remains just a low-end Fantasy option when healthy.
News: Knicks C Darko Milicic was able to play on Friday against the Bobcast but was only one the floor for four minutes, going 0 for 2 from the field. He had two rebounds in the game. Milicic had been questionable coming into the game after injuring his knee on Wednesday.
Analysis: Darko is a sleeper this season for the Knicks but there is really no reason to believe he'll play well. Leave him alone in Fantasy in all but the deepest of leagues until he proves himself.
News: Knicks F Darko Milicic was shaken up with 8:28 left on Wednesday against the Heat, remaining down under the Heat basket for a few moments before gingerly walking into the New York locker room, to have his left knee checked out. It was not believed to be serious.
Analysis: Darko is a sleeper this season for the Knicks but there is really no reason to believe he'll play well. He scored four points in 17 minutes before leaving and grabbed seven rebounds. Leave him alone in Fantasy in all but the deepest of leagues until he proves himself.
News: The Knicks and Grizzlies completed a draft night trade Thursday that sent center Darko Milicic to New York in exchange for swingman Quentin Richardson and cash considerations.
Analysis: Darko becomes an interesting sleeper pick in Fantasy as has just about anybody who plays under Mike D'Antoni in his system. David Lee went from a solid Fantasy option to a stud under D'Antoni last season and may not be returning this season. That could give Milicic a chance to go from an almost obsolete Fantasy option to at least a viable one. Monitor the offseason moves made by New York to see where Darko will fit in, but begin to pencil him on your list of sleepers.

News: Grizzlies C Darko Milicic (hamstring) did not return to the lineup Wednesday against the Magic. He has missed the last two games and remains questionable for Friday against the Suns.
Analysis: Milicic is pretty much going to go down as one of the worst lottery draft picks of all time. Even when he is healthy, his minutes have severely been reduced in Memphis. He has little to no Fantasy value.

Analysis: Darko will be worked back into the rotation and could eventually regain the starting power forward spot from rookie Darrell Arthur. Let him prove he can post consistent stats and then he would be worth adding or starting in Fantasy leagues.

Analysis: Darko had been playing his best basketball of the season prior to getting hurt, but his absence has allowed Marc Gasol, Darrell Arthur and Hakim Warrick to progress and he will have to once again carve out a niche for himself. Keep him reserved until he can prove healthy and productive again.
News: The Memphis Commercial-Appeal reports that Darko Milicic is due back from a broken right hand next week. He was cleared Friday for non-contact drills. Barring a setback, Milicic could resume full contact practice early next week.
Keep him active in all leagues for the upcoming scoring period.
News: The Memphis Commercial-Appeal reports that Darko Milicic will miss four to six weeks due to the broken knuckle he suffered in his right ring finger Friday.
Analysis: Darko had been playing his best basketball of the season of late. This is the latest frustration in what has been a disappointing career for the former No. 2 overall selection. This should mean a Fantasy boost for Hakim Warrick and Marc Gasol.
News: Memphis C Darko Milicic remained out of the lineup on Saturday night against the Spurs after exiting Friday's game early with a broken knuckle.
Analysis: Darko has scored in double figures in three of his last four games and has been mildly useful for deeper leagues where he is eligible at center as a possible No. 2 option. Fantasy owners should monitor this latest injury as he's now a major injury risk in Week 10 (Dec. 29-Jan. 4).

News: Grizzlies C Darko Milicic had 13 points with four rebounds in Sunday's game against Miami. It was his second straight game with 13 points.
Analysis: Darko had 11 rebounds to go with the 13 points in his previous game against the Bulls and is getting around 30 minutes per game again. He also has seven blocks in his last two games after blocking five shots on Sunday. He has always been a capable shot blocker, but has lacked consistency in other areas. Fantasy owners in larger leagues can think about taking a flier on Darko again. Use him while he remains productive as a No. 2 center, however, he should be reserved in all cumulative leagues for Fantasy Week 8 (Dec. 15-21) since the Grizzlies play just two games.
News: Grizzlies C Darko Milicic admits he is homesick, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal. He says he could return to Europe when he becomes a free agent in 2010. "A lot of days I think that," Milicic said, "because the only way to be me is in Europe. I don't want to be a defensive player the rest of my career. It's not really what I want to do."
Analysis: The former No. 2 overall draft pick (2003) hasn't developed into the offensive dynamo league executives envisioned based on workouts. Expectations were high when Detroit selected Milicic ahead of Carmelo Anthony (Denver), Dwyane Wade (Miami) and Chris Bosh (Toronto). Six seasons and three teams later, Milicic says he has been wrongly typecast as a defensive, physical center. Fantasy owners can't do much with that.
News: The Grizzlies will have three games in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 1). They will face the Rockets on the road on Oct. 29, the Magic at home on Oct. 31 and the Bulls on the road on Nov. 1. Houston allowed just 92.0 ppg last season, Orlando allowed 99.0 and Chicago gave up 100.4.
Analysis: Rudy Gay is expected to be ready for the opener despite suffering from a staph infection in his leg. He's expected to start at small forward with rookie O.J. Mayo starting at the two-guard spot. Second-year guard Mike Conley will start at the point and rookie Marc Gasol may start at center for this very inexperienced team. Hakim Warrick could play a sixth man role off the bench, but should end up seeing starter's minutes and is still a breakout candidate entering the season. Darko Milicic will buy minutes with defense, but is not a recommended starter until he proves he can be relied upon regularly. Off the bench, Kyle Lowry should see decent minutes behind Conley and Mayo. Still, his appeal is limited to deeper leagues and he should be reserved in most Fantasy leagues for Week 1. There's no use for Antoine Walker Jarvaris Crittenton, Darrell Arthur, Marko Jaric or Iranian rookie Hamed Haddadi yet.
News: Memphis C Darko Milicic was able to play in Friday's preseason game against the Bobcats despite back issues. Milicic did not start but played 31 minutes and scored just two points on 1-of-3 shooting. He grabbed seven rebounds and blocked four shots. He also turned the ball over three times.
Analysis: In his first game of the preseason Milicic was so-so. He didn't score very much but was impressive on rebounding and blocked shots, though the turnovers can kill you. Milicic started a career-high 64 games during the 2007-08 regular season, his first in Memphis. He started 62 of those games at center and two of them at power forward. He averaged 7.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks as a starting center and should be viewed as no more than a third center option.

He averaged 7.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks as a starting center. Consider him a low-end Fantasy center to be drafted as a reserve.
News:Darko Milicic was quoted in a Serbian newspaper last week as saying he believed it was "99 percent" sure he'd become a New York Knick by the end of the week, but no such deal has been done.
Analysis: The Grizzles and Knicks have had month-long talks in which Zach Randolph would be part of a deal for Milicic and Marko Jaric, but it appears those talks have died down. Milicic started a career-high 64 games during the 2007-08 regular season, his first in Memphis. He started 62 of those games at center and two of them at power forward. He averaged 7.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks as a starting center.
News:Darko Milicic was quoted in a Serbian newspaper as saying he believes it's "99 percent" sure he'll become a New York Knick by the end of this week, according to the New York Post. The Grizzles and Knicks have had month-long talks in which Zach Randolph would be part of a deal for Milicic and Marko Jaric.
Analysis: The deal would save the Knicks $10 million off the salary cap in 2010 in their attempt to get under to sign a prominent free agent such as LeBron James. Agent Marc Cornstein told The Post Saturday he thought a deal "could happen," but a source close to Knicks president Donnie Walsh indicated over the weekend talks appeared to be in a lengthy stalemate.

Analysis: Darko got a chance to play big minutes for the first time in his NBA career, especially once Pau Gasol was traded to the Lakers. But his numbers still didn't take off and it's pretty much confirmed now that Darko should not have been taken with the second overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft by the Pistons -- ahead of players like Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, Chris Kaman, Kirk Hinrich, T.J. Ford, Boris Diaw and Josh Howard. Fantasy owners should view him as the 7-6-1 center that he is and only draft him as a third Fantasy center. In Rotisserie formats, his value is slightly higher for his above-average shot-blocking ability.
News:Darko Milicic returned for the Grizzlies after missing Saturday's game at Golden State with a sore right foot. However, word didn't get to the public address announcer that Milicic was starting, and Hakim Warrick was announced before Memphis coach Marc Iavaroni came to the scorer's table and made the switch. Milicic played almost 29 minutes and scored 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the floor. He also had 10 rebounds, including six on the defensive end.
Analysis: The Grizzlies allowed Milicic enough time to get over his bum foot. He is a low-end Fantasy center when healthy and a No. 4 forward.
News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic missed Saturday's game at Golden State with a sore right foot. He had practiced Friday and was expected to play.
Analysis: The Grizzlies must have wanted to give Milicic a little more time off. His seven points and six rebounds per game make him nothing but a low-end Fantasy center, so keep him reserved.

News:Darko Milicic had 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Wednesday's win over New Jersey. He shot 8-for-12 from the field and also had 2 blocks in the game.
Analysis: Darko now has four very solid games out of his last five and has at least 7 rebounds in four straight games. Sooner or later, the absence of Pau Gasol in the low post was bound to start affecting his Fantasy value in a positive way. He's averaging 13.0 points and 8.8 rebounds over his last five games. He should be owned in more than 54 percent of CBSSports.com leagues considering he's eligible at center in leagues that use multiple positions.
News: Memphis F/C Darko Milicic went for 21 points and seven rebounds Tuesday at Chicago.
Analysis: Milicic now has put together some good outings in recent games. Hopefully that continues but for now consider Milicic a low-end Fantasy option with the chance to see his value rise if he plays more like this.
News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic had 11 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday's loss to Utah. He shot 4-for-6 from the field and also added a steal.
Analysis: Darko was bound to start picking up his production sooner or later after Pau Gasol skipped town. He's been able to pick up at least 7 rebounds in three straight games, but remains erratic with his offensive outputs. He can be thought of as a decent stopgap center.
News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic, who had gone five straight games without scoring in double figures, scored 15 points Tuesday against the Suns. He also had seven rebounds.
Analysis: Milicic hasn't seen a significant boost in Fantasy value since the departure of Pau Gasol. He remains a low-end Fantasy center.
News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic had 4 points with 2 rebounds in just 15 minutes of action Friday against Dallas.
Analysis: Darko should be enjoying quite a Fantasy boost after the departure of Pau Gasol cleared things up for him in the post to produce, but that hasn't happened. In fact, Darko saw Kwame Brown take most of his minutes on Friday. He remains a poor Fantasy option for now.
News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic shot 0-for-7 from the field in Wednesday's game at the L.A. Clippers. He finished with 2 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and an assist.
Analysis: Darko has been held to just six points in his last three games and has been a poor man's Ben Wallace from a Fantasy standpoint. He's not doing much offensively, but has been giving decent rebound totals. He should be considered no more than a low-end No. 2 Fantasy pivot for now in leagues where he is eligible at the position. As a forward, he's a tough sell.
News: Memphis F/C Darko Milicic was held to four points and seven rebounds Tuesday at Seattle. He only played 21 minutes and hit just 2-of-8 shots from the field.
Analysis: Milicic now has three games in his past six where he's failed to reach double figures in points. He's been shaky with his play since the Grizzlies traded Pau Gasol to the Lakers, so consider Milicic a low-end No. 2 Fantasy center and a No. 4 Fantasy forward at this time.
News: Grizzlies PF Darko Milicic did not have a memorable night Wednesday against the 76ers. He did not score a point in 13 minutes, while grabbing just five rebounds and turning the ball over three times. He had scored in double figures five of his previous six games.
Analysis: Milicic has been an offensive force and rebounding machine in the paint recently because Pau Gasol is now out in L.A. Milicic will have a bad night every now and then, but can be used as a No. 2 Fantasy center or No. 4 forward.
News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic had just 4 points with 6 rebounds in Friday's loss at Dallas. It snapped a streak of three straight double-doubles for him.
Analysis: Darko also didn't have a block for the first time in 10 games. The departure of Pau Gasol should create Darko's best chance to become relevant in Fantasy, but it still looks like he'll be a somewhat erratic option as a No. 2 Fantasy center or No. 3 or 4 forward.
News: For the third straight game without Pau Gasol, who the Grizzlies recently traded to the Lakers, Memphis F/C Darko Milicic recorded a double-double Tuesday against the Bucks. He finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Analysis: Milicic might perform this way regularly without Gasol in town, especially since newcomer Kwame Brown came off the bench Tuesday. If Milicic remains unowned in your league, consider picking him up as an extra forward or center.

"At halftime, the doctors didn't think it was anything serious, but they want to see an MRI," Milicic said. "I've never had a knee injury, so I don't know how it's supposed to feel. It feels weird. Every time I try to put weight on it, it feels like it wants to give out."

News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic had seven rebounds Thursday at Sacramento and he's averaging seven boards in five January games to go with 7.4 points and 3.2 blocks.
Analysis: Those numbers aren't staggering, but Darko will continue to start for the Grizzlies and he can get you these types of numbers on a semi-regular basis. He's useful as a No. 2 Fantasy center in larger leagues.
News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic had 12 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday against the Lakers, giving him his third double-double of the season and first since early November. He also had four assists.
Analysis: Milicic hasn't been the same player since returning from a left ankle injury, slumping his way out of Fantasy relevance. If he can have more performances like Tuesday's, he could work his way back into it. Monitor his performance in the upcoming days but continue to treat him as a low-end Fantasy option for now.
News: Grizzlies F/C Darko Milicic, back starting, had six points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes Friday at Boston. In four games since the team removed him from the starting lineup, he has averaged 8.5 points and 6.3 rebounds.
Analysis: Those numbers represent a slight improvement over Milicic's season averages of 6.6 points and 5.7 rebounds. Still, he's by no means a first-rate Fantasy performer, and the teams that have him starting as a No. 2 center likely aren't doing well in the standings.
News: Grizzlies C Darko Milicic was replaced in the starting lineup by Stromile Swift. The team has not announced their plans for the future of their lineup, though.
Analysis: Darko is averaging just 3.5 ppg and 4.4 rpg and it seems that he just won't be able to shed his "bust" label and Fantasy owners have to reserve him while he's this low. Stromile Swift isn't much more appealing off the Fantasy waiver wire, but is more valuable at this stage.

News: Grizzlies C Darko Milicic didn't start or play during Wednesday's game against the Rockets due to a strained left ankle. Milicic, who missed seven games due to a strained left thumb, had been back only two games before injuring his ankle Monday against the Trail Blazers.

News: Grizzlies C Darko Milicic, who was playing only his second game after missing seven games with a sprained left thumb, left Monday against the Blazers midway through the first quarter favoring his left ankle. The injury was classified as a sprain. He did not return, but X-rays were negative.
Analysis: Milicic had one rebound in his five minutes of play. At least he got his start in, making him only one away from gaining Fantasy eligibility at center. Of course, it won't mean much if he never plays. Monitor his status because he'll make for a decent No. 2 center in Fantasy once he qualifies at the position.
News: Grizzlies F Darko Milicic returned to the starting lineup Saturday against the Timberwolves after missing six games with a sprained left thumb. He occupied his normal spot at center, but went scoreless in 34 minutes, shooting 0-for-5 from the floor. He did have five rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Milicic is now only two starts away from gaining eligibility at center, and Fantasy owners will benefit from the added flexibility. He entered Saturday averaging 10.2 ppg and 7.6 rpg -- numbers that would make him a No. 2 center in Fantasy. He might need some time to shake off the rust before he equals his previous scoring rate, however.

News: Memphis C Darko Milicic left Friday's game early in the second half after injuring his left thumb. Preliminary X-rays were negative, but he did not return.
Analysis: Consider Darko day to day, but we don't expect the big man to miss much time if any at all. Darko is two starts at center away from gaining eligibility at the position and Fantasy owners will benefit from the added flexibility. He's averaging 10.2 ppg and 7.6 rpg.
News: Grizzlies C Darko Milicic left Friday's game against the Hornets early in the second half after injuring his left thumb. Preliminary X-rays were negative, but he did not return. He finished with four points, two rebounds and an assist in 11 minutes of play.
Analysis: Milicic has served as the Grizzlies' starting center this season and has played well enough to serve as a No. 2 option for your Fantasy team. Hopefully, this injury won't keep him out. Early indications say it won't.
News: Grizzlies F Darko Milicic had a season-high 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting Tuesday against the Rockets. He also had six rebounds.
Analysis: Milicic has started all six games at center and now only needs four more to qualify at the position. His 11.3 ppg and 7.7 rpg averages would make him a No. 2 Fantasy C once he qualifies.
News: Darko Milicic is averaging 9.6 ppg and 8.0 rpg in five starts for the Grizzlies to start the season.
Analysis: Milicic has started all five games at center and is now just five starts away from gaining eligibility at the position. At the moment, he's only worth starting as a low-end forward in leagues of 12-plus teams, but he'd be worth using as a No. 2 center once he gets the eligibility.
News: Grizzlies big man Darko Milicic started at center for the Grizzlies in Wednesday's opener vs. San Antonio and started off the game by scoring eight first-quarter points. He didn't score in the rest of the game, however. He finished with seven rebounds and two assists. He also blocked two shots.
Analysis: Darko figures to pick up center eligibility as soon as 10 games into the season and he could turn into one of the Fantasy darlings of the season when he does. He showed some promise early on Wednesday, but didn't do much after the first quarter. Such has been the story of his NBA career. He's a great shot blocker and should already be owned for help in that category, but he should progress in the other areas of his game as the season goes.
News: Grizzlies PF Darko Milicic scored 13 points off 6-for-9 shooting Thursday in an exhibition game vs. Estudiantes in Spain. He also had seven rebounds and blocked two shots.
Analysis: Milicic didn't start, with Stromile Swift starting at center in his place. Swift brought down nine boards in the game and played well. Continue to monitor this preseason battle. The victor could end up being a steal in Fantasy leagues. We fully expect Milicic to be the better Fantasy option this season, though.
News: The Memphis Grizzlies on Friday signed forward Darko Milicic, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft who is joining his third team. Milicic put up disappointing numbers in his 1 1/2 seasons with the Orlando Magic after being drafted by Detroit. But he averaged 12.3 points in the playoffs for the Magic against the Pistons. Milicic averaged 7.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 110 games for the Magic, but the team allowed him to leave to clear room to sign Rashard Lewis.
Analysis: Milicic will enter the 2007-08 season as a low-end Fantasy forward with plenty of upside. Consider taking a late flier on him as a reserve and hope he plays up to his potential.
News: According to the Commercial Appeal, Darko Milicic, an unrestricted free agent forward, will join Memphis after agreeing in principle Wednesday to a three-year deal, according to an NBA source. The contract will pay Milicic a starting salary in the range of $6 million-$7 million. He averaged eight points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 23 minutes per game for the Magic last season. Milicic averaged 12.3 points in the playoffs.
Analysis: Maybe Milicic will fulfill some of his potential with the Grizzlies. Consider him a No. 4 Fantasy forward heading into the 2007-08 season.
News: According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Billy King, the Sixers' president/general manager, confirmed via the team's public-relations department that he has spoken with Darko Milicic, an unrestricted free agent who appeared in 80 games last season with the Orlando Magic, and Milicic's agent, Marc Cornstein.
Analysis: Milicic, from Serbia and Montenegro, was drafted by the Detroit Pistons and eventually traded to the Magic on Feb. 15, 2006. He averaged 8.0 points and 5.5 rebounds, making 16 starts. Continue to monitor the situation, but a move to Philly might increase Milicic's Fantasy value.
News: The Magic pulled their qualifying offer for free agent Darko Milicic, making it unlikely the 7-footer will return to Orlando. He was a restricted free agent, meaning Orlando could have matched any offer. The change, announced Tuesday, means he can sign with any team.
Analysis: The Magic have said they want to retain Milicic, but are also shopping for a free-agent scorer. Seattle SuperSonics forward Rashard Lewis is set to join the team, but it's not official until the signing period opens Wednesday. Milicic, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft, averaged eight points and five rebounds last season. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons but scarcely played in 2 1/2 seasons there. Consider Darko a late-round Fantasy reserve in Fantasy leagues.
News: Forward Darko Milicic had a season-high five blocked shots against the Celtics Sunday. Milicic played 34 minutes, but he had just six points and three rebounds.
Analysis: Although his offensive effectiveness has been sporadic this season, his ability to block shots is why he could be a valued free agent this summer. He will likely be considered a sleeper once again entering next season.
News: Orlando forward Darko Milicic finally showed the kind of emotion that the Magic have been looking for, but he didn't channel it very well Wednesday night. Milicic, whose lack of emotion has been a negative in his short NBA career, argued a foul call against him so strongly, he received a technical foul, and then after another exchange with officials, he received a second technical and an ejection in the third quarter.
Analysis: Milicic finished with no points and two rebounds. He has minimal Fantasy value at this time.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic (ankle) returned to the team's lineup Friday against the Pacers.
Analysis: It appears safe to get Milicic back into active Fantasy lineups. When healthy, he is a low-end Fantasy forward.
News: Darko Milicic played only two minutes Wednesday and failed to score, leaving the game and never returning because of an ankle sprain.
Analysis: Milicic, who started for a month during the absence of Tony Battie, had just entered the game for Battie and was immediately hurt. Keep him reserved until further notice.
News: Forward Darko Milicic returned Saturday vs. Sacramento after missing one game with a lower back strain, but he returned in a different role Saturday. Milicic had started 16 consecutive games during the absence of Tony Battie, who came back Wednesday from a broken right thumb but is expected to finish the season in a reserve role behind both Battie and Dwight Howard in the frontcourt.
Analysis: Milicic has been an inconsistent Fantasy option. If possible, allow him a few games to determine how he adjusts to his new/old role. If you must start him, though, do so as no more than a No. 4 forward in leagues of 12-plus teams.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic (back) was in the team's lineup Saturday against the Kings. He had 10 points, five rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Milicic has been an inconsistent Fantasy option. If possible, allow him a few games to determine what kind of role he'll take off the bench. If you must start him, though, do so as no more than a No. 3 forward in leagues of 12-plus teams.
News: According to the Orlando Sentinel, Magic F Darko Milicic is expected to return Saturday vs. Sacramento. Head coach Brian Hill, though, says that he will come off the bench. He intends to keep Tony Battie in the lineup for his sound defense.
Analysis: Milicic has been an inconsistent Fantasy option. If possible, allow him a few games to determine what kind of role he'll take off the bench. If you must start him, though, do so as no more than a No. 3 forward in leagues of 12-plus teams.

Analysis: Milicic has been an inconsistent Fantasy option. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy forward at this time when healthy.
News: Magic forward Darko Milicic continued his trend of following most good games, like the one he had Sunday in Houston, with a bad game, like the one Monday in Charlotte. Milicic had just eight points and four rebounds in 26 minutes. He has been sorely inconsistent all season. Moving him into the starting lineup hasn't helped much.
Analysis: Milicic has been an inconsistent Fantasy option. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy forward at this time.
News: Magic power forward Darko Milicic had 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots against the Nuggets, but he played only 25 minutes. He struggled to catch his breath in the high altitude of Denver.
Analysis: Milicic has been playing well recently and is worth using as a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy forward. He is finally starting to realize a little bit of his potential and has found a home in the NBA.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic scored just eight points and brought down only three rebounds Sunday vs. Houston. He finished 3-for-9 from the floor in 33 minutes of action.
Analysis: Darko continues to start, but Trevor Ariza's return could spell a return to the bench if he can't up his scoring and rebounding numbers. Darko is a better rebounder and shot blocker than Ariza and should get plenty of chances to contribute down the stetch, though.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic, picked No. 2 overall by the Pistons in 2003 over Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, was loudly booed in his return to the Palace on Wednesday. Milicic was traded to Orlando last season after averaging fewer than two points in two-plus seasons in Detroit. Milicic, who made his sixth start of the season, was taken out of the lopsided loss with five minutes to play, a stark difference from his days as Detroit's "Human Victory Cigar." He finished with seven points on 2-of-9 shooting. He also had seven rebounds and two assists in the game. Wednesday's game ended a streak in which Milicic reached double-figures in three straight games and four of the previous five games.
Analysis: Milicic started just four out of 53 games in the first half, but came on as of late with Tony Battie injured. In fact, he scored 21 points with eight boards and four assists in the team's final game heading into the All-Star break. Consider him a potential second half Fantasy hero and someone to target off the waiver wire in case he starts to come on strong.
News: Orlando power forward Darko Milicic went into Tuesday's game having made all of his free throws since becoming a starter five games ago. His streak was snapped against the Knicks when he made just two of four. He previously had made 13 consecutive free throws since replacing Battie in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Milicic, who had 12 points and seven rebounds against New York, has played well since becoming a starter. He should be used as a No. 3 Fantasy forward at this time.

Analysis: He started just four out of 53 games in the first half, but came on of late with Tony Battie injured. Consider him a potential second half Fantasy hero and someone to target off the waiver wire in case he starts to come on strong.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic finished with 21 points and eight rebounds in a win over the Trail Blazers Wednesday. He also had four assists in the game.
Analysis: After struggling most of the season, it appears Milicic has finally found his stride. He has reached double-figures in six of his last eight games and has two double-doubles in that same stretch. He is only owned in 62 percent of Fantasy leagues at this time, and if he is available in your league, you might consider picking him up for the second half of the season. Continue to use him as a low-end forward, but his value could be on the rise.
News: Darko Milicic had one of those games Saturday where he gives everyone hope that he can become a good long-term fit around Dwight Howard. He finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.
Analysis: Too often, though, these kind of games are followed by a pair of bad ones as he struggles for consistency. Fantasy owner can begin to use him as a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy forward, but beware of his instability as a young, still improving player.
News: Darko Milicic got his second consecutive start, but it really hasn't helped his game. Against the Spurs, he struggled again with four points and three rebounds in 33 minutes.
Analysis: Darko's star is rising and Fantasy owners could do worst than to pick him up in larger formats. Consider using him in deep Fantasy leagues only at this time as a No. 4 forward.
News: Darko Milicic got his first start of the season, and just his second in a Magic uniform Wednesday night. He didn't play especially well, getting 10 points and six rebounds.
Analysis: Because of constant foul trouble, he played just 24 minutes, which was disappointing with Tony Battie unable to play. Darko's star is rising and Fantasy owners could do worst than to pick him up in larger formats.
News: Magic forward Darko Milicic had nine points, six rebounds and one assist Tuesday against the Bucks.
Analysis: Milicic had been playing well recently, but he will continue to have inconsistent performances like this. Consider using him in deep Fantasy leagues only at this time.
News: Orlando forward Darko Milicic is getting ready to shine. Milicic, the reserve center/power forward, has used the recent slump by Dwight Howard and the injury absence of Grant Hill to become a bigger part of the Orlando Magic game plan. As much as anyone, Milicic is the guy who has given the Magic a boost recently when others have been struggling. He has scored at least 14 points in each of the last three games, including his career high 19 points in the awful loss to the New York Knicks on Saturday night. He had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots in a victory over Milwaukee Wednesday. He hit six of nine shots for 14 points in the win over New Jersey. And he had 19 points and six rebounds before fouling out against the Knicks.
Analysis: Milicic, 21, is in his fourth NBA season, but only his first playing regularly (22 mpg) after mostly watching from the sideline for two-and-a-half years in Detroit. For the first time in his career, though, he has developed a back-to-basket, low-post game, complementing his ability to pass and shoot from the perimeter. He always has been a better-than-average shot blocker. He should be added in deep leagues and might be worth using as the season goes on.
News: Power forward Darko Milicic scored a career-high 19 points Saturday, hitting seven of 10 shots and five of seven free throws.
Analysis: Milicic, despite his early struggles, is starting to develop into a reliable low-post scorer. Perhaps the day we've been predicting since last summer is finally here and he can become a useful and reliable Fantasy option. Keep an eye on him and look to add him now in larger leagues before it's too late.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic had 14 points and tied his career high with 10 rebounds Wednesday against the Bucks.
Analysis: Milicic had his second double-double in 46 games this season on Wednesday. Milicic continues to play better as of late, but still nothing worth writing home about. He remains a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic has improved his play lately, but it didn't show Tuesday night against the Mavericks. When he was in the game, he was trying to guard Dirk Nowitzki. Milicic played only 14 minutes, but he left with five fouls, two points and one rebound.
Analysis: Milicic continues to be somewhat of a disappointing Fantasy option this season and remains a very low-end Fantasy option. The Magic also are starting to hear trade offers for Milicic, who will be a restricted free agent this summer. The Magic would like to re-sign him, but they are worried that he will get an offer elsewhere that would be more than they are willing to pay. The Magic will have the right to match any offer he receives in order to retain him.
News: Jameer Nelson had 11 points, Keith Bogans made three 3-pointers and Darko Milicic added nine rebounds for Orlando, which ended a six-game skid in Cleveland on Monday.
Analysis: Milicic also contributed with nine points and a block in 21 minutes off of the bench. He remains a very low-end Fantasy option, but someone to observe in larger formats for cheap rebounds and blocks.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic brought down eight rebounds Saturday at New Jersey.
Analysis: With Dwight Howard fouling out early, Darko had some extra opportunities to grab some boards and score some points. He added eight points in the game. He remains a very low-end option, but someone to observe in larger formats for cheap rebounds and blocks.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic got his first double-double of the season on Tuesday against the Hornets. He had 11 points and 10 rebounds in a losing effort.
Analysis: It took Darko 39 games to finally get a double-double, but better late than never. Milicic still hasn't developed into the player that many thought when he was taken as the No. 2 pick in the 2003 draft, ahead of Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade. He's averaging just over seven points this season and just under five rebounds, making him a very low-end option.
News: Magic center/forward Darko Milicic is still playing as a reserve, but he is blocking shots like starter lately. In the last three games, he has blocked nine shots combined. He played well coming off the bench Saturday, picking up 10 points and seven rebounds against the Suns.
Analysis: Milicic still hasn't developed into the player that many thought when he was taken as the No. 2 pick in the 2003 draft, ahead of Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade. He's averaging just over seven points this season and just under five rebounds, making him a very low-end option.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic shot just 1-for-11 from the floor Wednesday at Golden State. He finished with four points and seven rebounds.
Analysis: Perhaps the 1-for-11 leaps off the page as a horrible effort, but the fact that he took 11 shots is something to consider as a positive sign. He's averaging just over seven points this season and just under five rebounds, making him a very low-end option.
News: Darko Milicic returned from the strain of his right foot on Sunday, one that knocked him out early in Friday's victory.
Analysis: Milicic showed no sign of a problem against the Celtics Sunday, hitting four of six shots for 12 points. He also had three blocked shots. Milicic continues to be very inconsistent and is not much of a reliable Fantasy option at this time. Many had Milicic picked as a Fantasy sleeper this season, but he has yet to fill that role.

Analysis: Milicic continues to be very inconsistent and is not much of a reliable Fantasy option at this time. Many had Milicic picked as a Fantasy sleeper this season, but he has yet to fill that role. Keep him reserved in all Fantasy formats until he makes his return to the court.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic is averaging 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game this season. He has only scored in double-figures once in the last six games, including going scoreless on Dec. 23.

News: Power forward Darko Milicic, coming off a good game, played his worst game of the season Wednesday night, getting four points and one rebound in 23 minutes.
Analysis: He hit one of six shots and only two of his four free throws. Many had Milicic picked as a Fantasy sleeper this season, but he has yet to fill that role. He isn't much of a scorer at this point, but is a great shot blocker and can rebound well. He had five boards in Friday's game.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic has six points, five assists and four rebounds in a loss to the Bobcats on Thursday.
Analysis: Many had Milicic picked as a Fantasy sleeper this season, but he has yet to fill that role. He is averaging just 7.4 points and 4.9 rebounds a game and hasn't found a prominent role in the Magic offense. Consider him a very low-end Fantasy option at this time and should be kept reserved in most Fantasy formats.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic scored four points in Friday's loss vs. Detroit. He blocked two shots in the game.
Analysis: He isn't much of a scorer at this point, but is a great shot blocker and can rebound well. He had five boards in Friday's game.
News: Darko Milicic had his streak of 15 consecutive games with a blocked shot stopped Sunday night against the Clippers.
Analysis: Milicic, who averages only 20 minutes a game, was averaging 2.12 blocks (seventh best in the NBA). He isn't much of a scorer at this point, but is a great shot blocker and can rebound well.
News: Darko Milicic continued to make his bid to break into the starting lineup. Milicic, who has been playing behind both Dwight Howard and Tony Battie in the front court, reached double-figure scoring for the second consecutive game Friday night.
Analysis: He had 11 points and eight rebounds Friday. In each of the last two games, he played his best in the fourth quarter. Darko should already be owned in larger leagues as a short-term replacement option. As a starter, though, he'd be worth adding in all leagues. He isn't much of a scorer at this point, but is a great shot blocker and could rebound well.
News: Tony Battie has been struggling on the offensive end of the court. In the last two games, both starts, he has combined to score just two points. The Magic may be close to replacing him with Darko Milicic in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Darko should already be owned in larger leagues as a short-term replacement option. As a starter, though, he'd be worth adding in all leagues. He isn't much of a scorer at this point, but is a great shot blocker and could rebound well.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic scored just two points in 15 minutes off the bench Wednesday vs. Seattle before fouling out. He did add six boards, three blocks and two steals, though.
Analysis: Milicic has often been in foul trouble, many times as a result of his agressive shot-blocking technique. He'll have to get that squared away before he can work his way into more minutes with the Magic. Consider reserving him in larger leagues as he could be in for big numbers if that ever happens.
News: Magic reserve C Darko Milicic had 11 points and six rebounds in 15 minutes on Friday against the Sixers. He picked us his fifth foul with 34 seconds left in the third quarter and didn't return. Milicic was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field. He was also perfect from the line making his line free throw.
Analysis: Milicic is expected to do great things this season in Orlando, but he has to stay out of foul trouble to be effective. Milicic has the potential for a breakout season and should be owned in most Fantasy formats. Keep him reserved until he proves he can consistently post decent numbers, but in his limited time this season, he has shown he can hang with the big boys.
News: Magic F Darko Milicic scored seven points in 18 minutes of action off the bench Wednesday vs. Chicago. He also added four rebounds and a blocked shot.
Analysis: Darko out-performed starting C Tony Battie, seeing most of his minutes at the center position. He could become the starting center down the line and is worthy of consideration in deeper leagues as a sleeper who can erupt at some point this season.
News: Tony Battie is waiting for Darko Milicic to take his job. Battie has all but said he hopes he can move into a backup role this season behind Dwight Howard and Darko Milicic, giving the Magic a nice three-big rotation. Howard is 20, Milicic is 21, and Battie, 30, thinks they can grow together as starters. Milicic, though, didn't play especially well in preseason, and a bruised hip slowed him considerably.
Analysis: Although Battie struggled with soreness in his knee early in training camp, he finished strong in the last couple exhibition games, giving the Magic some veteran leadership and good defense around the basket. Battie has been an ironman for the Magic since joining the team, playing 81 and 82 games in his two seasons. It's one reason they already rewarded him with a contract extension. Battie just doesn't do enough anymore to warrant ownership in Fantasy play outside of larger leagues. Milicic was slowed by a bruised hip in preseason and didn't play well enough to unseat Tony Battie in the starting lineup. Milicic is owned in 79 percent of CBS SportsLine.com's Fantasy leagues. He should help in rebounds and blocks this year.
News: Darko Milicic returned for the Magic Thursday after missing two games with a bruised lower back. He picked up three fouls in 6 minutes defending Yao Ming, and a technical for knocking a ball on the floor that bounced into the stands in the second quarter. He finished with four points and five rebounds.
Analysis: Fantasy owners are hoping he finally reaches his potential as a No. 2 overall pick, now that he finally has a starting gig in the NBA. He'll have to earn your trust before you start him however.
News: Darko Milicic of the Magic missed Thursday's game against the Hawks after bruising his lower back Tuesday also playing against the Hawks.
Analysis: Orlando hasn't said how long they expect to be without Milicic, but if his injury were problematic, they probably would have already alerted the media to the problem. Milicic is being looked at as a sleeper pick for the upcoming Fantasy season. Owners are finally hoping he reaches his potential as a No. 2 overall pick, now that he finally has a starting gig in the NBA. View Darko as a viable No. 2 center in any Fantasy format.
News: Pat Garrity scored 19 points and Dwight Howard added 17 to lead the Magic past the Hornets in preseason action Friday in Oklahoma City. Travis Diener added 14 points for Orlando, while rookie Kasib Powell had 12 and Darko Milicic and Keith Bogans had 10 each. "We came out and started the game very slow again," Magic coach Brian Hill said. "Some of that could be because we don't have everyone in there, but right now our slow starts are something that is a concern to me. Hopefully we can fix that when we have everyone available."
Analysis: Players like Powell, Bogans and Diener can credit their nice outputs to seeing more minutes than they likely would during the regular season. As for Howard, he is capable of this type of game every night. If his scoring gets a boost this season as we believe it will, Howard can be among the most productive Fantasy players in the game. We like Darko as a sleeper to take in the middle-to-late rounds on Draft Day because he will see extended minutes for a full season for the first time in his career. We like Garrity as a forward that can help in the 3-point categories in Rotisserie formats, but his value will be limited to being a reserve in most head-to-head formats this season.
News: Darko Milicic has bulked up since the end of last season, which is due to some serious weight-room work during the summer. Milicic has gone from 255 pounds when last season ended to 270 pounds for the start of training camp.
Analysis: He also has shown considerably more confidence in his game, which was evident by his performance at the World Championships this summer. Milicic can already be considered a nice source for blocks in Rotisserie leagues, but his appeal as a sleeper transfers to any format.
News: Darko Milicic had three blocked shots Thursday night in 27 minutes against San Antonio, giving him 59 in just 27 games for the Magic this season.
Analysis: The Magic knew they were getting a talented player when they traded for him back in February, but they didn't know how good he could be defensively.
News: Darko Milicic tied his season high with 13 points on Monday vs. Atlanta.
Analysis: Darko is averaging just 8.0 ppg over his last five games and is not a recommended starter at this point.
News: Darko Milicic had two blocked shots in 19 minutes Sunday, giving him 16 blocks in the last four games, proving that he can be an effective defensive player, which has surprised even the Magic, who traded for him last month.
Analysis: He might be worth starting if you need blocks.
News: Newcomer Darko Milicic tied his career high with five blocks on Wednesday vs. Utah. That gives him 29 in 12 games for Orlando. He had only 15 in 25 games with Detroit.
Analysis: He played 24 minutes and might be worth starting if you need blocks.
News: Darko Milicic had his best game as a member of the Orlando Magic on Friday vs. Seattle. He scored eight points on 3-for-4 from the field and he also brought down five boards.
Analysis: This comes just a day after Darko openly complained about his playing time less than a week into his tenure with the Magic. He's worth owning in larger leagues, but reserve him until his role with the team becomes more regular.
News: According to the Detroit Free Press, Darko Milicic is already upset at the playing time he's been getting with the Orlando Magic. "I didn't come here to sit on the bench," Milicic said Thursday. "I tell myself that everything will be fine here, but right now, nothing has changed. I want to play. I need to play. I learn nothing sitting on the bench."
Analysis: This comes just after head coach Brian Hill said publicly that he intends to use him, but only after he learns the system in Orlando. He's played just four minutes in his debut and he did not play at all in his only other game with the Magic. He could certainly be a useful Fantasy player down the stretch, but not at this moment. Hang on to him only if you can afford the roster space and are willing to make an investment in the former second overall pick. He's not worth starting just yet, but he will be interesting soon.
News: Head coach Brian Hill said Darko Milicic, the No. 2 pick behind James in the 2003 draft acquired Feb. 15 with guard Carlos Arroyo from Detroit, will be given an opportunity to play - but only after the third-year center learns the system. Milicic had two points in four minutes on Tuesaday.
Analysis: "I'm happy to get another chance to play, to see what I can do," said Milicic. "In Detroit, it was horrible for me. A nightmare."
News: Darko Milicic, 20, finally will get a chance to see if he can play in this league, something he never really got on a veteran team in Detroit. The Magic hope to team him with Dwight Howard, also 20, on the front court. Milicic averaged just 1.5 points, 1.1 rebounds and 5.6 minutes with the Pistons.
Analysis: There is no question that Darko will have more value in Orlando than he had in Detroit. The question is, will that result in Fantasy value for the Human Victory Cigar? Nobody knows, but if you have an open roster spot in deeper leagues, it couldn't hurt to pick him up and see what happens.
News: The Pistons completed a deal Wednesday night that ended Darko Milicic's unproductive tenure in Detroit. Milicic's agent Marc Cornstein confirmed the trade was finished. The Pistons and Magic negotiated throughout Wednesday to finalize a trade that would send Milicic and backup point guard Carlos Arroyo to Orlando for injured center Kelvin Cato, whose $8.6 million contract comes off the books this summer, and a first-round draft pick in 2007. If the pick falls in the top five, Orlando gets to keep it and the Pistons receive the Magic's 2008 first-round pick, regardless of where it falls in the order. For 2½ seasons the Pistons have preached patience and defended Milicic's selection as the No. 2 pick in the 2003 draft -- a draft stocked with stars Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade in the third, fourth and fifth spots. By trading - and even trying to trade -- Milicic, the Pistons all but admitted they miscalculated how Milicic would develop in Detroit. At the time of the 2003 draft, Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars saw the risk in selecting Milicic, but deemed it worth it. Here was a 7-foot center, just 18, with coveted skills that seemed earmarked for NBA stardom. He could run. He could play facing the basket. He had inside-outside range.

"Darko was able to play a lot of minutes during summer league this July and we are happy that he is on Serbia-Montenegro's roster during the European Championships this September."

News: The Detroit Free Press notes that head coach Larry Brown wishes Darko Milicic would stop trying to please everyone with the few minutes he plays each game. "This is going to take time, and people have to understand," said Brown. "He can run like a deer and he's a great passer. He really has unusual skills for a big kid that you can't teach. It's just a matter of him getting the opportunity every day to play in game situations to where he's not worried about pleasing the crowd, but becoming a better basketball player. I think it will happen. It might happen next year, or it might happen the year after."
Analysis: Milicic has no Fantasy value for the remainder of this season, but in larger keeper leagues he could be a keeper considering the Pistons will likely lose Rasheed Wallace to free agency. Expect Milicic to get a lot of summer-league play to hone his shooting and calm his on-the-court nerves.
News: The Detroit Free Press reports that Darko Milicic finally received meaningful minutes in the second quarter of Thursday's game against Sacramento. He did shoot an air ball from 17 feet out, but played hard for two points and a steal in six minutes. While the stats don't look promising, he did take baby steps in his maturation as an NBA player and the home corwd let him know it. "It feels great," said Milicic. "When fans like you, it's great." The Pistons will likely continue to spoon feed him small amounts of minutes. "It was great feeling to play," he said. "But they want me to learn the game first. It takes time."

"They told me (at the draft) that I maybe not going to have any big minutes," said Milicic. "But I said, 'I don't care, I just want a few minutes to do something good, to show what I can do.' But right now, I don't have any minutes that I can do something in." Some of the Pistons are impressed that Milicic has stuck with the team's weight program, which will bulk him up and ready him for the low post in the NBA.
Analysis: Milicic might be a nice pickup in larger keeper leagues for coming seasons. Remember that he is only 18 years old, a year younger than both Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. Expect him to play well when he does develop and get the chance, which could be only an injury or trade away.

He will play on the summer league team in Orlando and work out at the practice facility adjacent to the Palace of Auburn Hills. The preseason treatment made Milicic "800 percent better" according to Brown.
