McLeod waived by Mavericks

News: Pacers G Keith McLeod averaged just 4.8 ppg and 1.9 apg in 48 appearances during the 2006-07 regular season.

Tinsley, Daniels accused of assault

News: An Indianapolis bar manager has accused two Pacers players of assaulting him early Tuesday morning, according to a police report. However, the three players mentioned in the report denied any involvement when asked by The Indianapolis Star. Jamaal Tinsley and Marquis Daniels are accused of attacking the man at 2:15 Tuesday morning. Keith McLeod, another Pacers player, was also at the bar, as was his cousin, Jeremy King. No one was immediately arrested or charged. Indianapolis police Lt. Doug Scheffel said Wednesday it would take several days to complete the investigation to determine if charges would be filed.
Analysis: Keep an eye on the situation to see if any arrests are made, which could lead to a suspension. The Pacers just can't seem to stay out of trouble. If the players are forced to miss any time, their Fantasy value would take a huge hit.

Warriors trade two reserves

News: Golden State sent reserve forward Ike Diogu and reserve guard Keith McLeod to Indiana as part of an eight-player trade involving Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy. The Warriors get Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Josh Powell and Sarunas Jasikevicius. Diogu is in his second season out of Arizona State and is averaging 7.2 points per game and 3.7 rebounds in 17 games. McLeod, in his fourth season out of Bowling Green, has played in 26 games, averaging 5.3 points per game and 1.7 assists.
Analysis: Diogu will probably remain buried on the bench in Indiana behind Jermaine O'Neal, Jeff Foster and Murphy. He will have minimal Fantasy value. McLeod is dealing with an abdominal injury, but he also will remain a reserve with the Pacers. He has no Fantasy value at this time.

McLeod out with abdominal injury

News: Warriors G Keith McLeod (abdominal strain) did not play on Monday against the Clippers.
Analysis: McLeod has missed the last five games because of an abdominal strain suffered in practice. He is buried on the depth chart behind Baron Davis and Monta Ellis, but has averaged 5.3 points per game this season. Still, he is not a recommended Fantasy option when healthy.

Warriors beat up on Turkish team

News: Dajuan Wagner scored 18 points to lead seven Golden State players in double figures and the Warriors rolled to a 120-66 preseason victory over Efes Pilsen of Turkey on Thursday. Troy Murphy added 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Warriors in their exhibition opener.
Analysis: Don't expect Wagner to see that type of production during the regular season. The Clippers will still rely heavily on the likes of Jason Richardson, Baron Davis (when healthy) and Troy Murphy. Consider Mike Dunleavy and Ike Diogu in the middle-to-late rounds, but even players on the end of their bench (like Patrick O'Bryant) can be considered in the sleeper category because the team is by no means set at every position.

McLeod traded to the Warriors

News: The Utah Jazz on Wednesday completed a trade for veteran guard Derek Fisher. Utah sent guards Devin Brown, Keith McLeod and Andre Owens to Golden State for Fisher, who played eight seasons with the Lakers and the last two years with the Warriors. The Jazz first needed to sign Owens, a restricted free agent who played 23 games after making the team as an undrafted rookie last summer, on Wednesday before trading him to complete the deal.
Analysis: McLeod was expected to challenge for the starting point guard job in Utah, so his Fantasy value takes a tumble. He is only worth adding in larger leagues when rounding out a roster.

McLeod lay on the floor while Battier went to the dressing room for stitches, the fourth time this season the Grizzlies forward has required stitches. Battier returned late in the game; McLeod didn't, although X-rays on the Utah reserve were negative.
Analysis: McLeod is too inconsistent to be recommended in Fantasy leagues when healthy.

McLeod's tests turn out well

News: Keith McLeod underwent a series of tests at a Salt Lake City hospital Monday to determine whether there was an underlying cause for the chest discomfort he felt in Houston on Saturday. All tests were normal, coach Jerry Sloan said, though McLeod was to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours just to be safe. McLeod is expected back when the season resumes in a week.
Analysis: McLeod is not worth holding onto if he's taking up a valuable roster spot.

McLeod out with chest discomfort

News: According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Jazz point guard Keith McLeod missed Saturday night's game against the Rockets after being hospitalized and undergoing tests what the team described as "indigestion-like chest discomfort." McLeod was sent to Memorial-Herman Hospital in Houston just hours before the game, according to Jazz director of communications Cindy Edman. Trainer Gary Briggs said McLeod underwent a series of tests, including an EKG, which was normal.
Analysis: Said Jazz coach Jerry Sloan: "We're not going to take a chance on anybody. Just like I told Keith, 'Forget about basketball and get it checked out.' " McLeod is too inconsistent to be recommended in Fantasy leagues when healthy.
