Mavs guard Devin Harris fights through toe injury to play 21 minutes

(4/25/2015) Mavericks guard Devin Harris was able to play 21 minutes off the bench Friday against the Rockets, despite a painful toe injury

“I think everybody’s sore at this point,” Harris said, per The Dallas Morning News. “It’s a battle out there. I felt like we played hard enough to win, we just didn’t execute well enough to win.

“It (his foot) is good enough. I was a little limited out there, but I was able to get where I needed to go.”

Harris has 10 points on 3 of 8 shooting. He also went 4 of 5 from the free-throw line, while adding one rebound and two assists in Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinal matchup vs. Houston.

(4/24/2015) Mavericks guard Devin Harris is ready to roll in Game 3 Friday night after missing Game 2 with a toe injury on his left foot, the Dallas Morning News has reported.

Harris will be part of a point guard rotation that will also include J.J. Barea and Raymond Felton. Down 2-0 in their series against Houston, the Mavericks will need one and all to perform well. Rick Carlisle seems unconcerned about that.

"The guys we have available are all experienced guys," he said. "...These guys have all been in the league a long time, they've all been starters, they've all had a lot of responsbility and they've all played in a lot of playoff games. So we'll get the job done with those guys. And all three of them will play off the ball a little bit, too."

(4/23/2015) Mavericks guard Devin Harris was able to participate in the team's practice Thursday and coach Rick Carlisle said the signs are pointing toward Harris playing in Game 3 on Friday, reports the team's official website.

"We'll see how it responds [Friday], but I expect to play," Harris said, per the Star-Telegram.

Harris was held out of the Game 2 loss to the Rockets with a toe injury, but Harris is making positive progress, according to Carlisle.

The Mavericks are 1-point favorites over the Rockets on Friday.

Harris played just 10 minutes in Game 1 and sat out Game 2 due to an issue with the big toe on his left foot. He could see significant time at the point with Rajon Rondo (back) expected to miss the game. Harris has averaged 8.8 points and 3.1 assists in 76 games.

The Mavericks are a pick 'em against the Rockets in Game 3 in Dallas Friday.

Parsons was dealing with a right knee injury and he re-aggravated the injury during the Game 1 loss. He will be reevaluated Wednesday and coach Rick Carlisle said he was very concerned with the injury, reports the team's official website.

Meanwhile, a toe injury will prevent Harris from playing in the contest.

The Mavericks are 6 1/2-point underdogs at Houston.

Parsons has been dealing with a right knee injury, but he was able to play 37 minutes in Game 1. Harris is suffering from a toe injury and he played 10 minutes in Game 1.

The Mavericks are 6 1/2-point underdogs to the Rockets for Game 2.

(4/20/2015) Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons and guard Devin Harris were non-participants in Monday's practice, according to the Houston Chronicle

Parsons has a right knee injury but was able to play 37 minutes in Saturday's playoff-opener, a 118-108 loss to the Rockets. Harris has an injury to his big toe and was unable to finish Saturday's game.

“They did not do anything today on the court,” Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said. “They did lifting and some rehab work. They’re listed as questionable and see where we are tomorrow.”

Both Parsons and Harris are listed as questionable for Game 2 on Tuesday.

(4/20/2015) Both Chandler Parsons and Devin Harris aggravated injuries during the Mavericks' Game 1 loss Saturday to the Rockets and both are questionable for the second game of the first-round playoff series, per the Houston Chronicle

Parsons' knee gave out during Game 1, but he still managed to play 36 minutes and score 10 points, but he was concered about swelling postgame. 

Harris reinjured his toe during his brief time in the game, limiting him to 10 minutes and two points.

(4/19/2015) Mavericks guard Devin Harris suffered a toe injury in Saturday's Game 1 loss to the Rockets. He played just 10 minutes and scored two points in the contest, but hopes to return for Game 2, reports the Dallas Morning News.

"The toe is pretty sore and I aggravated it during the game," Harris said. "We will have to continue to treat it and hopefully I'll be back. It remains to be seen and there are some things we have to figure out. We’ll see how it goes."

Harris left Sunday's game in the first half and did not return, and Carlisle said his guard will be touch-and-go on Tuesday as well. "You never know when there's going to be a run to the back," he said.

Barea suffered the ankle injury during Saturday's practice and sat out Sunday's loss in Phoenix.

Harris left Sunday's game with an illness and did not return.

Barea is averaging 7.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game this season and Harris is averaging 8.8 points and 3.2 assists.

Barea is suffering from a fever, and Harris' ailment was listed as an illness. 

Carlisle also had no update on Al-Farouq Aminu, who is suffering from a left shoulder injury.
