News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was back on the floor Tuesday against the 76ers, after sitting out the team's previous game with an illness. He scored nine points on 4 of 7 shooting in 18 minutes of action. He added seven rebounds and a blocked shot, in a 104-83 win.
Analysis: Humphries has been a major disappointment this season, and there is little reason to think he will surge in the final week of the season. He is averaging 5.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game on the year. The Nets will likely try to trade him this offseason, and it would be a surprise if he regains his former status as a solid Fantasy option as long as he stays in Brooklyn.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was forced to miss Saturday's game against the Bobcats, due to an illness. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Humphries has been playing recently, but in a much diminished role, averaging just 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game over the last five games. Even when healthy, Humphries is not longer a Fantasy option worthy of much attention.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries is back in the rotation, but he is struggling to find ways to make a big impact in a backup role. Humphries scored just two points in 13 minutes Thursday, in a 92-90 loss to the Bulls. He added just two rebounds in the game, as well.
Analysis: Humphries made a lour return to the rotation a few weeks ago with 17 points and eight rebounds, but he has yet to post double-figures in either category since. Humphries is averaging just 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game over the last five, and can be left for just the deeper Fantasy formats down the stretch. A far fall for a player who averaged a double-double in each of his previous two seasons.
News: Nets power forward Kris Humphries re-emerged back into the rotation as he enjoyed one of his best performances of the season Sunday against the Suns. Humphries went 6 of 12 shooting and 5 of 5 from the free throw line as he finished with a season-high 17 points and eight rebounds in a 102-100 victory.
Analysis: Humphries showed some sign of life despite as he played his fourth game in March, and just the second appearance since March 2. It was the first time he scored in double figures since Feb. 13. Still, we don't want to take too much into this game, especially since Humphries has only scored 10-plus points in 16 of the 54 games played this season. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore him in all formats moving forward.
News: Nets power forward Kris Humphries returned to action Saturday night against the Clippers despite dealing with a back injury. Humphries, who made his first appearance since March 2, logged 10 minutes off the bench and went 0 of 1 shooting from the field. He finished scoreless with two rebounds, an assist and a steal in a 101-95 defeat.
Analysis: Humphries continues his disappointing season as he has been buried at the back-end of the rotation as of late. In fact, the 28-year-old has only scored in double figures once in the last 20 games played. It seems as if he put his back issues behind him, which is encouraging for his team down the stretch and leading up to the playoffs. Still, Humphries is way too inconsistent for Fantasy owners to trust, so continue to ignore him in all formats moving forward.
News: Nets power forward Kris Humphries missed his second straight game due to a back injury on Wednesday night against the Mavericks. Humphries has not played since March 2 as he has fallen out of the rotation in Brooklyn.
Analysis: Humphries averaged a double-double over the last two seasons but has not seen much playing time for the Nets of late. He is averaging just 5.5 points with 5.9 rebounds in 52 games this season so leave him for the deepest of Fantasy formats, healthy or not.
News: Brooklyn power forward Kris Humphries is dealing with a lower back injury, reports the team's official PR. Humphries missed Monday's game against Detroit. He has not been a contributing member of the rotation lately.
Analysis: There had been some chatter about Humphries getting back in the rotation shortly. That won't happen until he's healthy. Until we see him contributing and doing something for Fantasy owners, he'll have just low-end appeal in all formats.
News: The New York Daily News reports that Nets forward Kris Humphries was informed Wednesday morning by coach P.J. Carlesimo that he's out of the rotation. Humphries last played two minutes on Saturday against Chicago. He hasn't played more than 23 minutes in his past seven games. In his past five games he is averaging just 0.8 points and 3.4 rebounds.
Analysis: Humphries was clearly getting phased out of the rotation prior to this news, so this should come as no surprise. He has minimal Fantasy value based on this report and should not be used in the majority of formats.
News: According to several reports, the Nets are still listening to offers for seldom-used forward Kris Humphries leading up to Thursday's trade deadline. Humphries, who finished with three points and five rebounds during Brooklyn's win over the Bucks on Tuesday night, is being linked to a deal that would send him to the Bobcats in exchange for guard Ben Gordon.
Analysis: Humphries is currently the odd-man out in coach P.J. Carlesimo's rotation as the interim coach has said numerous times that matchups and the flow of the game will dictate how many minutes he sees. Well apparently that matchups and flow haven't been favorable of late because Humphries has averaged just 12 minutes per game over his last nine contests. A new zipcode could result in a nice boost in Fantasy value for the 28-year-old, so keep an eye on how things play out as the deadline approaches. However, Humphries won't have much value if he stays in his current role with the Nets.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was finally able to get his scoring back into double figures during Wednesday's contest against the Nuggets. Humphries finished with 14 points in the 119-108 defeat on 5 of 8 shooting from the field. He made all four of his free-throw attempts and also added four rebounds to his stat line, while logging 20 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Humphries continues to be used in a reserve role and coach P.J. Carlesimo has said numerous times that matchups and the flow of the game will decide how many minutes he sees on a nightly basis. The 28-year-old has also had his name connected with numerous trade rumors as many feel his reduced role may be a sign that the team is looking to move him. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on how things play out as the trade deadline approaches. While a new zip code could result in a boost in production, Humphries doesn't have much value in his current role in Brooklyn.
News: Nets power forward Kris Humphries barely made an impact during Friday's contest against the Wizards. He logged just two nine minutes of game action and finished with two points, three rebounds and a blocked shot in an 89-74 defeat. ESPN reported before the game that the Nets and Bobcats have discussed a deal that would send Humphries to the Bobcats for Ben Gordon, though the deal is not imminent at this time. You just try to make the best of the situations youre in, he said. If something happens, it happens.
Analysis: Interim coach P.J. Carlesimo was not pleased after the game and did not give the roster a ringing endorsement after the game. Billy (King, the GM) and I will talk about that, he said. Especially after a game like this, Ill keep my mouth shut. Humphries has been extremely limited off the bench as of late, as he averaged 1.3 points and 3.0 rebounds over his last five games. A trade to Charlotte could boost his Fantasy value, but for now the 27-year-old is only worth owning in deeper formats moving forward.
News: Nets power forward Kris Humphries came down with nine rebounds on Tuesday night as Brooklyn lost at home to the Lakers. L.A. lost Pau Gasol during the game and Dwight Howard sat out and Humphries took advantage on the board. That said, he played 21 minutes and scored just four points on 2 of 6 shooting.
Analysis: The 27-year-old Humphries has really been limited of late, averaging just under 12 minutes per game over his last five contests. Doing almost nothing statistically over that span, Humphries should be benched in all formats until he can see more minutes and consistency.
News: Brooklyn power forward Kris Humphries did not play well on Monday despite the Nets blowing out the Orlando Magic. Humphries went 0 for 4 from the field over 17 minutes off the bench and scored just three points. Humphries grabbed seven rebounds and added a steal for the Nets.
Analysis: Humphries hasn't scored in double figures in a while and is averaging just 4.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game over his last five with 0.4 blocks. Until he starts contributing at a decent level, his Fantasy value will remain extremely low.
News: Nets power forward Kris Humphries recorded his sixth double-double if the season, and his first since Dec. 4, on Monday against the Knicks. He scored 11 points and hauled in 13 rebounds -- with five coming on the offensive glass -- in the 88-85 win. He went 5 for 8 from the field and made his lone free throw while playing 27 minutes off the bench. Humphries also posted an assist in the victory.
Analysis: Humphries has been one of the bigger disappointments in Fantasy so far this season but showed Monday that he can still be productive from time to time. He has been playing better of late and is averaging 6.4 points with 6.4 rebounds on 52 percent shooting in the previous five games. Humphries is seeing around 14 minutes per contest during that span, however, which has limited his numbers. Continue to track his progress going forward but the 27-year-old is only worth owning in deeper Fantasy formats at this point.
News: After being restricted by injuries and a benching since the end of December, Brooklyn forward Kris Humphries provided an indication that he could be on the verge of returning to the standout form he showed last season. Humphries recorded 10 points and nine rebounds -- his highest total since Dec. 19 -- in just 17 minutes Sunday against Indiana. It was his first outing since missing eight of the previous 11 games between the benching and injuries to his ankle and abdominal muscle. "It felt good," Humphries told the New York Post on Sunday about the ankle. "Its still not 100 percent, but it felt good to contribute in a win like this and its nice to be out there."
Analysis: Humphries was relegated to the bench in late December as then-Nets coach Avery Johnson preferred a smaller lineup and the Minnesota product had topped double-digits in points only three times in the previous 10 games. Humphries posted 29 double-doubles last year as he averaged 10-plus points and 10-plus rebounds for the second straight season. But he has just five double-doubles this year as he continues to strive for a steady spot in the rotation. "Its definitely tough to deal with injuries and not really be in the flow," Humphries said. Fantasy owners should keep him active in deeper formats as he could increase his production as his health improves.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries returned to action Sunday afternoon against the Pacers despite sitting out his last game -- Friday against the Suns -- with a left ankle injury. Humphries flirted with a double-double as he scored 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting and went a perfect 2 for 2 at the free throw line in a 97-86 victory. He also grabbed nine boards while logging 17 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Humphries was able to turn in a productive performance despite seeing his minutes go down significantly since the start of the season. He has failed to live up to his Fantasy potential thus far and has only averaged 7.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in his last three contests. He has been relegated to a bench role as of late and has scored in double figures in just three of the last 12 games played. Consider him a low-end option in deeper formats heading into Week 12 (Jan. 14-20).
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was listed as active and will be available off the bench during Sunday's contest against the Pacers, according to the New York Daily News. Humphries re-aggravated his left ankle injury during Thursday's practice and was forced to sit out Friday's game against the Suns.
Analysis: Humphries has failed to live up to his Fantasy potential thus far and has only averaged 6.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in his last two contests. He has been in and out of the lineup with this injury, so we'll have to monitor his role during Sunday's game to see if he is back at 100 percent. He has been relegated to a bench role of late and has scored in double figures just twice in his last 11 games. Humphries should be viewed as a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats for now.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was a late scratch from the team's starting lineup Friday night against the Suns as he continues to be bothered by a sore left ankle. According to the New York Daily News, Humphries may have re-aggravated his injury in practice Thursday. He has missed three of the last four games with the injury.
Analysis: Humphries apparently suffered a setback earlier in the week after making his return Tuesday against the 76ers. He was held to just two points in his return, which suggests that he may have not been back at 100 percent to begin with. The Nets will now take a more cautious approach with the 27-year-old, so we'll continue to keep an eye on his status moving forward. He has been relegated to a bench role of late and has scored in double figures just twice in his last 11 games. Fantasy owners should leave Humphries reserved in all formats until he can recover from his ankle issues.
News: After missing the previous two games due to a lingering ankle issue, Nets forward Kris Humphries returned to action Tuesday against the 76ers. He played 10 minutes off the bench and finished with two points in the 109-89 win. He missed both of his attempts from the field but went a perfect 2 for 2 from the charity stripe. Humphries also posted three rebounds in the victory.
Analysis: Humphries has been one of the bigger disappointment in Fantasy so far this season as he entered Tuesday averaging just 7.2 points with 7.3 rebounds thus far. He has been relegated to a bench role of late and has scored in double figures just twice in his last 11 games. While the 27-year-old should return to the starting lineup eventually, leave Humphries reserved in all but deeper Fantasy formats while he's struggling.
News: After a two-game absence because of a troublesome ankle injury, Brooklyn forward Kris Humphries is expected to return for Tuesday's game at Philadelphia, ESPN.com reports. Humphries has not played since last Wednesday due to a sprained ankle. "I don't want to say he's definitely going to be in there, but there's no reason for me not to use him," interim coach P.J. Carlesimo said. "If I don't use him, it's just because of rotations or whatever, but he's available, and I would expect that he probably will play."
Analysis: Following his breakout campaign a year ago, Humphries has seen his playing time decrease and is averaging 7.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this season. But he appears to over the ankle injury and will attempt to shake off his slump. "Hump looked good, he went through the whole practice yesterday, he looked pretty good, and he's available," Carlesimo said. Humphries should be viewed as a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats when healthy.
News: Brooklyn forward Kris Humphries was sidelined for the second straight game Saturday against Sacramento as he continues to be hampered by a troublesome ankle injury. Humphries is considered day to day after sustaining a Grade 1 ankle sprain during a game last Wednesday.
Analysis: The Nets have not provided any timetable for Humphries as they will obviously keep him out until the the swelling in his ankle subsides. The 27-year-old has been unable to shake a lackluster start to the season and is currently averaging just 7.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in a reserve role for Brooklyn. Humphries should be viewed as a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats when healthy.
News: Brooklyn forward Kris Humphries was ruled out for Friday's matchup at Washington as he was unable to return from an ankle injury he suffered in his previous game. Humphries was listed as questionable after sustaining a Grade 1 ankle sprain last Wednesday against Oklahoma City.
Analysis: Humphries is loosely considered day to day by the Nets, but the team will exercise caution with the 27-year-old. While his numbers are down from his breakout campaign last year, he is still averaging 7.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in a reserve role for Brooklyn. Humphries should be viewed as a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats as his production has a tendency to be rather sporadic.
News: The New York Daily News reports Nets forward Kris Humphries suffered a Grade 1 ankle sprain and is considered day to day. His status for Friday's game at Washington will depend on how he feels.
Analysis: Humphries' Fantasy value has taken a major hit in 2012-13 as he has been removed from the Nets' starting lineup and his numbers have declined. He still might be worth stashing in deep Fantasy formats for perhaps a second-half surge, but averaging 7.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game keeps Humphries as a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries suffered an ankle injury during the waning moments of Wednesday's win over the Thunder. Humphries turned in his ankle as time expired in the 110-93 win and had to be helped off the court. He said his ankle felt better after receiving treatment following the win and is being listed as day to day with his injury.
Analysis: Humphries finished with 11 points and seven rebounds in the win, but may have cost himself a few games with his latest injury. Tough break for the 27-year-old as he just got back on the court after missing five games with an abdominal injury. Fantasy owners -- especially those in daily formats -- should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. Humphries is averaging 7.1 points and 7.3 rebounds on the season and has been coming off the bench. He can be considered a viable low-end option in deeper formats when healthy.
News: After missing the previous five games due to an abdominal injury, Nets forward Kris Humphries returned to action Monday against the Spurs. He scored seven points and hauled in three rebounds while playing 22 minutes off the bench. He went a perfect 2 for 2 from the field and made 3 of 4 free throws. Humphries also blocked a shot in the 104-73 loss.
Analysis: Humphries continues to have a down season after a breakout campaign a year ago but at least he appears to be healthy at this point. No word yet if he will regain his starting gig, however, so keep an eye on the situation going forward. Owners in deeper Fantasy formats should keep Humphries reserved until he shows some kind of consistency.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was out for the fifth game in a row Saturday against the Cavaliers, as he continues to deal with an abdominal strain. The Nets have waited to announce his status until just before game time since he suffered the injury.
Analysis: Nets general manager Billy King told reporters that Humphries was expected back and in the rotation Friday against the Bobcats, however it appears the injury continues to linger. His production has fallen off in a big way, so Humphries has a lot to prove to Fantasy owners moving forward. Monitor his status, but keep him inactive in most formats until he proves worthy of playing.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was ruled inactive for Friday's contest against the Bobcats as he continues to deal with a abdomen strain. Humphries has now missed four straight games with his injuries but remains listed as day to day.
Analysis: Humkphries was reportedly expected to return to the lineup Friday night, but was deemed not ready. However, the 27-year-old had fallen out of the Nets' rotation in recent weeks anyway but that could change now that Avery Johnson has been run out of town. Still, owners are best to leave Humphries reserved in the majority of formats until he proves to be healthy and productive.
News: Nets general manager told the New York Post that he expects Brooklyn forward Kris Humphries to return to the lineup Friday night against Charlotte. Humphries has missed the last three games with a mild abdominal strain.
Analysis: Humphries has fallen out of the Nets' rotation recently as a result of his poor shooting. The 27-year-old is connecting on just 38.3 percent of his attempts from the floor during the month of December and is averaging just 7.1 points per game on the season. Though he is expected to return Friday night, Fantasy owners should keep him active in only deeper formats at this point, until he gets back on track.
News: Brooklyn forward Kris Humphries will miss the next two games, including the Christmas showdown against Boston, with a mild abdominal strain, coach Avery Johnson told ESPN.com on Tuesday. Humphries, who has been dealing with the issue over the past week, will also be sidelined for Wednesday's contest at Milwaukee. He will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Brooklyn later this week.
Analysis: Humphries, who signed a lucrative, two-year deal with the Nets during the offseason, has fallen out of the Nets' rotation recently as a result of his poor shooting. The 27-year-old is connecting on just 38.3 percent of his attempts from the floor during the month of December and is averaging just 7.1 points per game on the season. Fantasy owners should leave him on the bench in deeper formats at this point while he recovers.
News: Brooklyn power forward Kris Humphries could not practice Monday due to abdominal muscle pain, reports the team's official site. Humphries will see a doctor about the issue. This comes one day after Humphries did not play Sunday against Philadelphia.
Analysis: Humphries sat out the entire game Sunday and we began speculating that he may be in coach Avery Johnson's dog house. It appears he's dealing with an injury, though the injury news could mask a deeper issue. Owners may want to monitor the situation, but Humphries has been a disappointment this season. Keep Humphries stashed away in all formats until he returns to being any kind of productive.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was out of the starting lineup for the sixth time in the last eight games on Sunday against the 76ers. In fact, he did not play in the 95-92 win. Gerald Wallace started at power forward for Brooklyn with Keith Bogans serving as small forward.
Analysis: Humphries has had a down campaign all around thus far and appears to be losing his role on the Nets. He proved last season to be a reliable option in Fantasy but his struggles have caused him to lose value, and now playing time. Keep an eye on the situation going forward to see if coach Avery Johnson can get the 27-year-old back on track. Keep Humphries stashed away in all formats until he returns to being any kind of productive, however.
News: Nets power forward Kris Humphries scored in single digits for the sixth time in the previous seven games on Tuesday night against the Jazz. He finished with eight points but hauled in 11 rebounds -- including six on the offensive glass -- in the 92-90 loss. He went 3 for 5 from the field and made both of his free throws while playing 28 minutes. Humphries also posted one assist and turned the ball over twice in the defeat.
Analysis: After a breakout campaign a year ago, Humphries has struggled with a revamped team in Brooklyn. He is averaging just 5.4 points with 4.8 rebounds in the last five games and is shooting 37 percent over that span. It looks as though his value in Fantasy could continue to drop but Humphries remains a viable option in deeper formats as he has the potential to be a consistent producer.
News: Nets power forward Kris Humphries only played eight minutes during Tuesday's loss to the Knicks. Humphries did not attempt a field goal in the game and went 2 of 4 from the line to score two points. Humphries grabbed two rebounds.
Analysis: The 27-year-old Humphries didn't see much run on Tuesday and has scored a grand total of 10 points in his last three games combined. Having a poor season, it is possible that Humphries is falling out of the rotation for the time being. Fantasy owners should only be starting him right now in the deeper formats.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was thrown out of Wednesday's game against the Celtics after an altercation with Rajon Rondo. Humphries fouled Kevin Garnett late in the second quarter and was shoved by Rondo. Garnett and Wallace also got into a shoving match. Humphries and Rondo received a double-technical and were both ejected, while Wallace picked up his second technical and was tossed as well. Garnett remained in the game. Humphries finished with three points, four rebounds and two blocks in 13 minutes of game action. "Rondo initiated everything that proceeded after the foul. And when he and Humphries go into the stands, they are involved in a fight," said referee James Capers. "Fighting is an automatic ejection."
Analysis: Humphries got into it with Rondo and may receive a fine or a suspension in the near future, so we'll continue to monitor his status moving forward. He has endured a tough week so far, scoring just seven points combined in his last two games. Humphries has been a bit disappointing this season and has just four double-doubles so far. The Nets are a much deeper team this season, but we still expected Humphries to provide close to a double-double on a nightly basis. He has lost some of his reliability and is viewed as a viable starting option in most Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries failed to record a double-double for the third game in a row Wednesday against the Warriors, as he was held to just 10 points and six rebounds in 27 minutes, in a 102-93 loss. Humphries shot 5 of 6 from the field, but struggled on defense and found playing time somewhat hard to come by. He added one assist and a block in the game.
Analysis: After 10 games, Humphries is averaging 8.5 points and 9.4 rebounds in 25.8 minutes per game; through 10 games a year ago, he was averaging 13.3 points and 10.0 rebounds in 32.3 minutes. If we had known his role would be scaled back this season so drastically, we might have been able to see this step back coming, but it has still been disappointing. The Nets are a much deeper team this season, but we still expected Humphries to provide close to a double-double on a nightly basis; he has just three so far. He still gives you enough most nights to be worth starting in most Fantasy formats, but Humphries is not as dependable as he once was.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries turned in a quality performance as he dominated the glass against the Magic Sunday afternoon. Humphries scored 14 points and grabbed 21 boards in an 82-74 victory to complete a home-and-home sweep. He shot 6 of 11 from the floor and knocked down both of his free throws while chipping in with a block in 34 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Humphries averaged just 3.5 points with 4.5 rebounds through the first two games this season, but has since broke through for a pair of double-doubles in his last three games. With some new pieces added to the team, his minutes might end up being something to watch as the season goes on, as he emerged as a nightly double-double threat as a 30-plus minutes per game player last season. For now, Fantasy owners should continue to view Humphries as a viable option in all formats heading into Fantasy Week 3 (Nov. 12-18).
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries entered Wednesday's contest against the Heat averaging just 3.5 points with 4.5 rebounds through the first two games this season. He finally showed some signs of life as he scored 11 points and hauled in 11 rebounds -- including five on the offensive glass -- in the 103-73 loss. He went 4 for 8 from the floor and made 3 of 6 free throws while playing 24 minutes. Humphries also chipped in with an assist in the defeat.
Analysis: Humphries has averaged a double-double over the last two seasons so owners knew he would be able to get back on tracker sooner rather than later. Owners should keep an eye on his scoring totals going forward, however, as the addition of Joe Johnson could cut into his numbers. Also track his minutes as he has yet to play over 25 thus far. Given his potential in Fantasy, continue to view Humphries as a viable option in all formats.
News: The Nets brought back forward Kris Humphries on a big contract this offseason, but you wouldnt have known by the distribution of playing time in the teams opener Saturday against Toronto. Humphries played just 23 minutes despite being the teams starter at power forward. He had just five points and five rebounds in the game, a 107-100 win. He shot just 1 of 5 from the field and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line. Humprhies added a single assist.
Analysis: There was talk before the season that Humphries could get pushed out of the lineup if the Nets decide to go to small ball, and that is exactly what happened Saturday. It is still early in the game, so we cannot make any assumptions about Humphries role for sure, but this is not a good start. Humphries minutes might end up being something to watch as the season goes on, as he emerged as a nightly double-double threat as a 30-plus minutes per game player last season. Fantasy owners should still consider Humphries a solid option despite the slow start.
News: Brooklyn coach Avery Johnson indicated Monday that he will adjust the lineup based on matchups, which could result in a drop in minutes for forward Kris Humphries at the beginning of the season. Humphries, who signed a two-year contract in the offseason to remain with the Nets, struggles defensively against quicker forwards on the perimeter. The team could instead deploy 6-foot-7 Gerald Wallace against some of the league's top hybrid forwards, including Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. "Everything is an open book for us," Johnson told the New York Daily News. "Im not saying if we will or we wont. I think my job is to make the best decisions to give us the best chance to win. And if thats something that we need to do, we will."
Analysis: With Brook Lopez sidelined with an injury, Humphries turned in a thrilling year last season and posted career highs in points (13.8) and rebounds (11.0). But with Lopez is back and the Nets boasting a revamped roster loaded with scoring options, Humphries has had a tougher time getting on the court during the preseason (16.8 minutes per game). "At the end of the day everyone wants to play a ton of minutes, everyone wants to be a starter and do all these things," Humphries said. "But the coach makes decisions." The possible decrease in playing time could scare off some Fantasy owners, but Humphries remains a quality option in the middle rounds of most drafts for the upcoming season.
News: Free-agent forward Kris Humphries agreed to terms on a two-year contract that will keep him with the Nets the team announced Tuesday. The financial terms of the deal were not released. "Kris has been a very consistent player for us over the past two years," general manager Billy King said in a statement released by the team. "He has developed into one of the top rebounding forwards in the league, and we are very pleased to welcome him back."
Analysis: Humphires will once again be manning the frontcourt with Gerald Wallace and Brook Lopez as he decided to remain with the Nets. The 27-year-old is only one of eight players who averaged a double-double last season and one of just five players to accomplish that feat over the last two seasons. Humphries also showed he has some upside as he increased his scoring by nearly four points game so owners feel free to spend an early-round pick on the former University of Minnesota standout on Draft Day next fall.
News: Free agent forward Kris Humphries had trouble finding many interested teams as a free agent last offseason, which is why he ultimately settled for a one-year deal with the Nets. After upping his production to 13.8 points and 11.0 rebounds per game in the time since, FoxSports.com is reporting that Humphries has no less than 12 teams already expressing interest in his services. While the Nets are not expected to bring him back, Humphries looks almost certain to earn a long-term deal and a starting job.
Analysis: Only eight players last season averaged at least 10 rebounds and points, and Humphries was one of them. He is one of only five players to accomplish that feat over the last two seasons, putting him in some elite company. He improved his scoring by almost four points per game as well, so there is clearly some upside left in the 27-year-old former journeyman. Humphries is going to have plenty of attention this offseason, and will wind up being worth selecting in the early rounds on Draft Day.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries did not have one of his better shooting nights of the season during Monday night's contest against the Jazz. Humphries missed all six of his field-goal attempts in the 105-84 loss, finishing with two points. He was able to hit both of his free-throw attempts and also chipped in with 10 rebounds and two assists, while logging 23 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Humphries really struggled on Monday night as Utah's length made it hard for him to find many open shots. Despite his recent stinker, Humphries has put together another solid campaign in New Jersey this season and is averaging 13.5 points and 11 rebounds on the year. Continue to view the 27-year-old as a high-end Fantasy forward in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries was able to get his scoring back into double figures during Monday night's contest against the Cavaliers. Humphries finished with 13 points in the 105-100 win, on 5 of 10 shooting from the field. He made all three of his free-throw attempts and also added 11 rebounds, two assists and one block, while logging 33 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Humphries has struggled to put the ball in the basket over the last few games, but was finally able get back into double figures on Monday night. The 27-year-old now has 20 double-doubles on the season and is averaging 14.4 points and 13.8 rebounds over his last five contests. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with Humphries in all formats moving forward.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries scored 16 points and a career-high 21 rebounds in Wednesday nights win over the Raptors. Humphries has really done it the past two games. He had a career-high 31 points and 18 rebounds - one less than his career high at that point - in a loss to the Bucks on Monday. "He competes every day," Nets coach Avery Johnson said. "A guy thinks he has a layup on a break and Hump comes out of nowhere and blocks the shot. He is just a warrior. He is there every night and I know what I am going to get." The Nets would win the game, 98-84.
Analysis: Humphries has said he'd be willing to waive his no-trade clause for the right deal. While his name hasn't been brought up in trade rumors, anything can happen. Humphries has 19 double-doubles on the year and is averaging 13.6 points and 10.7 boards per contest on the year. Fantasy owners should continue to view Humphries as a viable forward option in all formats.
News:The Star-Ledger reports while nothing is imminent, Nets forward Kris Humphries said he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause for the right deal. "Would you jump off a bridge?" Humphries asked reporters who inquired about his willingness to waive the no-trade. "It depends how high the water is (or) if there was a drowning baby in the water. I mean, because you (might) jump off in the summer, if it was warm out, (and) you know the water was deep underneath. Its all circumstantial, is the point Im trying to make."
Analysis: There is nothing to worry about right now. All Humphries said was that he would consider being traded if the right deal came along. He hasn't been mentioned in trade rumors and is likely to stay with the Nets. Humphries had a 31-point, 18-rebound game on Monday against the Bucks. He has put up big numbers this season with Brook Lopez hurt. Humphries remains a viable Fantasy start.
News: New Jersey power forward Kris Humphries had a career game on Monday night in a loss to the Bucks. Humphries scored a career-high 31 points in the game as he added 18 rebounds for a huge double-double. Humphries played 42 minutes and went 11 of 15 from the field. His jumper was on all night and he added three blocks, two steals and one assist for the Nets.
Analysis: Humphries can be a little inconsistent scoring the basketball but clearly he has big ability as he showed on Monday. The power forward is averaging a double-double per game on the year and is at 16.4 points and 11.4 rebounds with 2.0 blocks over his last five. Humphries should be active in just about all Fantasy formats.
News: With Brook Lopez out and Deron Williams leaving the game with a calf injury, the Nets had to turn to forward Kris Humphries to lead the team on Friday against the Bobcats, and he helped carry them to an 83-74 win. Humphries notches the 17th double-double of his season in the game, scoring a team-high 20 points on 7 of 15 shooting while also adding 15 overall rebounds six on the offensive glass.
Analysis: Humphries has been a pleasant surprise this season, as he has been able to sustain his performance from last seasons breakout campaign. Humphries is averaging 13.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game on the season. Humphries has had no problem stepping up his role when asked, and depending on how long Williams is out, the Nets may need to rely on Humphries even more moving forward. As is, he remains a high-end Fantasy forward in all formats.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries didnt appear bothered by a lingering left calf injury on Sunday, playing 40 minutes in a 104-101 win over the Bobcats. Humphries grabbed his 15th double-double of the season in the game, with 11 points and 13 rebounds, coming on 3 of 7 shooting and 5 of 8 from the free-throw line. He also had a steal and an assist in the game. The Newark Star-Ledger reported Sunday that the injury has been bothering Humphries since before the All-Star break and hasnt gotten much better, however the fact that he played 40 minutes on Sunday probably shows that its not affecting him too much.
Analysis: It looks like the injury isnt anything to worry about, as he now has double-doubles in two out of three games since the All-Star break. He is averaging a double-double per game on the season, and as long as the injury doesnt worsen, should be active in most Fantasy formats.
News: New Jersey power forward Kris Humphries has been bothered by a left calf injury since around Feb. 20, reports the Newark Star-Ledger on Sunday. Humphries was bothered by the injury before the All-Star break, though it isn't much better now. In fact, Humphries was not sure of himself when asked if he needed to take some time off in the future. I dont know, Humphries said. Were treating it as many times as we can and just staying after it, so its one of those things where this season is condensed, and things you might (normally) be able to play through, sometimes you have to take time off with, because of how many games there are. But Im not looking to do that, Im looking to play (tonight against the Bobcats) and keep working.
Analysis: Humphries is not in jeopardy of missing any immediate time, but it does sound like this thing could get worse before it gets better. Humphries may need to rest it at some point in the future. The 27-year-old scored six points with five rebounds in his last game on Friday at Boston, but opened the second half of the season with 10 points and 15 boards at Dallas. He's still averaging a double-double per game on the season, so as long as he's playing, he should be active in most Fantasy formats.

Analysis: Humphries' injury wasn't considered serious, but the team leaned on the cautious side with the big man. Over his last four games, Humphries is averaging 15.3 points and 13.8 boards per outing, so the return of Brook Lopez hasn't hurt his numbers. It seems like Humphries is 100 percent, which means Fantasy owners in all formats should keep him active moving forward.
News: New Jersey power forward Kris Humphries (calf) is expected to play on Tuesday against Dallas, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Humphries' calf strain was never considered severe.
Analysis: Humphries missed the final game before the All-Star break but should be close to 100 percent healthy now. He had three double-doubles in four games before sitting out and has really been playing well of late. Humphries has averaged a double-double per game for the year and is a solid start in all Fantasy formats.
News: Nets coach Avery Johnson said Kris Humphries will miss Wednesday's game against the Magic with a strained left calf. It is the third game Humphries will miss this season. "I think he did it couple of games ago, but hes been managing it and fortunately, he was able to play for us against the Knicks,'' Johnson said of Humphries. "But if hes got to miss a game, thats because hes injured -- he plays with a lot of different ailments and aches and pains, so hes definitely injured when he misses a game.'' Humphries is expected back after the All-Star break. "He should be ready to go against Dallas (Feb. 28),'' Johnson said. "Fortunately, the calf is not a pull; from what Tim (Walsh, the Nets' athletic trainer) is telling me, its just a strain. But he just cant go (Wednesday). And I think he needs the All-Star break."
Analysis: Humphries is averaging a season-high 14.8 points in 12 February games. He also continues to be a force on the boards, averaging 10.4 rebounds per game in February. It will be interesting to see how his numbers fluctuate once Brook Lopez returns to full strength, but Humphries remains a high-end Fantasy option in the meantime.

Analysis: Humphries has turned it up a notch over his last two games. He's averaging 24 points and 14 boards, while block two shots per contest. The Nets play two games in Week 9 (Feb. 20-26) -- against the Knicks and Magic. Fantasy owners should use those two contests to see how much Humphries' production is affected with the return of Brook Lopez. Consider Humphries a solid forward option in the next scoring period.

He scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for New Jersey in the 93-88 loss. Humphries started off hot making his first seven shots from the field, and finished the night going 11 for 14 from the floor. He also knocked down both his foul shots. The big man added three assists and three blocks in his 38 minutes of action.
Analysis: Humphries continues to be the Nets lone inside presence with Brook Lopez still sidelined. Over his last five games, Humphries is averaging 12.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He's shooting 58.7 percent form the field over that span as well. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a solid forward choice in all formats as is one of the few options New Jersey has.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries found his way back into double digits on Saturday night as he scored 15 points versus the Spurs. He shot 70 percent from the field and went 1 for 2 at the charity stripe. The big man added two blocks and eight boards in his 31 minutes of work. The Nets would lose the game, 103-89.
Analysis: Humphries failed to reach double figures in his previous two games, as he's been struggling to score. He's averaging 11.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game over his last five outings. He's having a career year for the Nets and has stepped up with Brook Lopez sidelined. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a high-end forward option in all formats.

He also added two assists, two steals and four blocks for the second straight game in 34 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Humphries continues to perform at a high level this season and registered his 10th double-double of the season and first during the month of February. The 26-year-old remains a valuable scoring option for New Jersey and is averaging 14.0 points over his last five outings to increase his season total to 13.2 ppg, a career high. Fantasy owners should keep him locked in all formats as a must-start for Week 7 (Feb. 6-12).

He added one steal in the 106-99 loss.
Analysis: Humphries has been one of few low-post scorers for the Nets this year. He's logged three double-doubles over the last five games, averaging 10.8 points and 10.8 rebounds over that span. The 26-year-old has the potential to reach double-figures in points and rebounds on a nightly basis, and should be viewed as a high-end No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: After being a game-time decision due to an illness, Nets F Kris Humphries got the start on Friday against the Cavaliers and recorded his fourth double-double in the last six games. He scored 18 points and hauled in the 11 rebounds in the 99-96 win. He went 7 for 13 from the floor and made all four of his free throws while playing 33 minutes. Humphries also chipped in with two assists, a block and an assist in the victory. "I didn't feel 100 percent," Humphires said. "I came into the arena and found out Mehmet (Okur) was out and knew I was playing for sure. I was going to give it a try regardless. There are no excuses. We play a game. It's the best job in the world."
Analysis: Humphries now has eight double-doubles on the year and has taken his game to the next level after a breakout campaign a year ago. He is averaging 11.6 points with 12.4 rebounds in his last five contests, and is shooting 42 percent over that span. The 26-year-old has the potential to reach double-figures in points and rebounds on a nightly basis, and should be viewed as a high-end No. 2 Fantasy F option going forward.

He also scored 13 points as he posted his seventh double-double of the season. Humphries shot 6 for 11 from the field and hit one of his two foul shots. He also made a steal and dished out two assists in his 46 minutes of action.
Analysis: Humphries got some extra time to get some rebounds on Wednesday as the game went into overtime. He's averaging 11.6 points and 13.2 boards an outing over his last five games. With Brook Lopez sidelined the Nets need Humphries to pick up his scoring. With New Jersey lacking size, Humphries is a potential double-double waiting to happen every night. Fantasy owners should continue to view as a viable forward option in all formats.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Nets forward Kris Humphries knows he has to be more of an inside presence, especially with Brook Lopez on the sideline. He's noticed that he has to work harder for his shots and scoring. "I think other teams realize that as well, and they've been doubling down on me when I get the ball close," Humphries said. "I just have to try to get my points the way I know how, being aggressive off the backboard and staying alert. It's not easy, but I'm trying, just like everyone else."
Analysis: Humphries has attempted 10-plus shots in four straight games and has scored in double figures in eight straight games, so he seems just fine with his new offensive role. He is averaging a career-high 13.9 points and 10.6 rebounds this season. Lopez is still weeks away from returning, but once he does suit up that could mean less touches for Humphries. He is still a candidate to average a double-double like he did last year with New Jersey, but some Fantasy owners might consider Humphries a sell-high candidate since his scoring could go down once Lopez returns. As of now, Humphries is a solid Fantasy play.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries was able to notch his fifth double-double of the season during Saturday night's contest against the Jazz. Humphries finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the 107-94 win, on 8 of 11 shooting from the field. He went 2 of 3 from the charity stripe and also chipped in with one steal and an assist, while logging 30 minutes in the loss.
Analysis: Humphries has been able to pick right back off where he left last season, as he is again averaging double-double on the season thus far. The 26-year-old has actually increased his scoring out by nearly three points per game thus far, although its unlikely he will be able to sustain that pace. Still, as long as he keeps on producing, Humphries can be considered a solid option in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: After missing the previous two games due to a shoulder injury, Nets F Kris Humphries returned on Friday night agianst the Raptors. He scored just six points but hauled in 16 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass, in the 97-85 win. He went 2 for 8 from the field and made 2 of 6 free throws while playing 38 minutes. Humphries also chipped in with an assist in the victory.
Analysis: Humphries struggled to shoot the ball on Saturday but his shoulder injury did not hurt his rebounding. He is averaging 11 boards per game early on and is usually a double-digit scorer for the Nets. Keep an eye on his progress going forward to make sure his shoulder does not cost him anymore time but as long as he is on the court, consider Humphries a solid option in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: After missing Monday and Wednesday night with a sprained shoulder, Nets F Kris Humphries is expected back in the lineup Friday at Toronto after practicing on Thursday, according to the Star-Ledger. He had a cortisone shot on Wednesday and has progressed will from the injury.
Analysis: Humphries seemed to have dodged a serious injury after having an MRI and is listed as day to day for the Nets. The 26-year-old currently leads the team with 10 rebounds per game after he posted double-figures in boards during three of his first four games of the season. He has also been a quality scorer early, but it's unlikely he sustains his 12.3 ppg pace. Consider him a mid-range option in most Fantasy formats when healthy.

Humphries was hoping his shoulder would heal in time to play, but he had to sit out his second consecutive game. He had a cortisone shot in the shoulder Wednesday and will attempt to practice on Thursday and play Friday against Toronto.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries is now listed as day to day by New Jersey after an MRI showed he has nothing more than a sprained shoulder, reports the New York Daily News Tuesday. This news comes just hours after it was initially reported that Humphries could be out indefinitely as coach Avery Johnson said the shoulder was not looking good.
Analysis: Humphries is still a question to play Wednesday at Boston, but the injury certainly did not turn out to be as bad as originally feared. Fantasy owners can reserve him in all formats for now, however, until he does prove his health on the court. Humphries is averaging 12.4 points and 10 rebounds through his first five games and is a solid start in most Fantasy leagues, when healthy.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pacers due to a shoulder injury. Shelden Williams got the start in his place. Humphries is being considered day to day and is expected to undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
Analysis: Humphries suffered the injury on Sunday night, a game in which he scored 11 points and hauled in just five rebounds. He has already posted two double-doubles thus far so keep an eye on his status going forward. The 26-year-old had a breakout campaign a year ago and should only improve his stats this season so consider Humphries a solid option in the majority of Fantasy formats, when healthy.
News: Despite re-signing with the Nets a week ago, PF Kris Humphries looked in mid-season form in Monday night's 90-84 win over the Wizards. Humphries, who was booed each time he touched the ball for most of the game, finished with 21 points to go along with a team-high 16 rebounds in the victory. He shot 9 of 14 from the field and also chipped in with a pair of assists and a block, while logging 36 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Many thought Humphries would be a bit rusty considering he just signed with the Nets a week ago, but that certainly wasn't the case on Monday night. The 26-year-old looked in mid-season form against Washington and could end up improving on the 10 points and 10.4 boards per game he averaged last season, now that he should see 30-plus minutes a night. With Brook Lopez sidelined until February, owners should feel free to roll with Humphries as a No. 2 Fantasy option in all formats.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries played just under six minutes in his preseason debut, as the Nets lost 88-82 to the Knicks. He had just one missed field goal attempt and no rebounds in the game.
Analysis: Humphries averaged a double-double at 10 points and 10.4 boards per game for the Nets last season. That is all the more impressive when you consider that he only played 28 minutes per game. He has always been a good rebounder, but he took his game to another level with the increase in minutes in New Jersey. It helps his cause that he plays alongside Brook Lopez, one of the weakest rebounding centers in the league. Humphries is worthy of a mid-round selection on Draft Day despite the slow start in preseason.
News: Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Nets and PF Kris Humphries are finalizing a one-year deal worth between $7 million and $8 million Tuesday. The Nets expect to have Humphries available to play for the preseason finale on Wednesday.
His Fantasy value is the highest in NJ, so it is good news he's remaining with the Nets. Humphries is worthy of a mid-round selection on Draft Day.
News: Free agent F Kris Humphries had an unexpected breakout for the Nets last year, becoming one of just nine players to average a double-double. It came at a great time for the 25-year-old, as he became an unrestricted free agent for the first time following the 2010-11 season. Humphries agent spoke with the Nets GM Billy King for the first time on Thursday, and said the Nets expressed serious interest in bringing him back, according to The New York Daily News. However, much will likely depend on how the Nets fair with other targets, as they have expressed interest in free agent centers Tyson Chandler and Nene. They have also been mentioned in trade rumors for Orlando C Dwight Howard.
Analysis: Humphries 10.0 points per game and 10.4 rebounds per game average is all the more impressive when you consider that he only played 28 minutes per game. He has always been a good rebounder, but he took his game to another level with the increase in minutes in New Jersey. It helped his cause that he played alongside Brook Lopez, one of the weakest rebounding centers in the league. His Fantasy value would likely remain highest in New Jersey playing next to Lopez again, and if the Nets gave him a big extension, the pressure to play him more minutes would mount. Keep an eye on where Humphries ends up, but if he stays in New Jersey as expected he should be worthy of a mid-round selection on Draft Day.
News: The Bergen County Record reports that Nets GM Billy King said Wednesday that he wants free agent forward Kris Humphries back. Coach Avery Johnson said re-signing Humphries was a high priority, and King reiterated the sentiment. It is [a high priority], King said. Well have to look and see what the cap rules will be and what they want. There is always going to be a number that we will pay and we wont pay.
Analysis: Humphries had a breakout year in 2010-11, and he will likely get paid for it. He finished the year averaging 10 points and 10.4 rebounds per game over almost 28 minutes and saw action in 74 games. Keep an eye on where Humphries ends up, but if he returns to the Nets he should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy option worth a mid-round pick in all leagues.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries missed the final eight games of the regular season after being shut down with ankle and heel injuries. Humphries was injured against the Knicks and will have to wait until next season to return to action. He finished the year averaging 10 points and 10.4 rebounds per game over almost 28 minutes and saw action in 74 games.
Analysis: Humphries was shut down by the Nets with little to play for and now the season is over. As far as Humphries is concerned, he could be looking at a nice pay day if he can get healthy by the start of next season. The 26-year-old averaged a career-high in points (10.0), rebounds (10.4), blocks (1.1) and minutes (27.9) and will be a free-agent in the offseason. The Nets say they want him back but Fantasy owners should keep an eye on where he lands. If Humphries finds himself with a team that will give him quality minutes, he can be viewed as a high-end Fantasy forward in most formats.
News: Nets Coach Avery Johnson said Nets F Kris Humphries will be shut down for the season with because of an ankle and heel injury. Humphries was injured against the Knicks last week and will finish the season missing the final eight games. "He's just not ready to come back, the heel is still a major issue in terms of running, and there is too much discomfort there," Johnson said. "He's been getting treatment around the clock, and this is a guy who has played with so many ailments this season. Again, to close a chapter on his season, really good thoughts about his season."
Analysis: Humphries has now officially been shut down for the year, but this move doesn't come as much of a surprise. Johnson hinted at this earlier in the week and the Nets really don't have much to play for right now.
News: The team's official website reports that Nets forward Kris Humphries (ankle, heel) will not play Friday against the Raptors. Coach Avery Johnson said that he is probable out for the season with the pair of issues.
Analysis: Humphries is dealing with both a sprained right ankle and a bruised heel, causing him to miss five straight games to this point. His breakout season as a scorer and especially as a rebounder may be over, but the pending unrestricted free agent is in for a solid payday once he hits the market. Early reports have him leaning toward staying with the Nets. Either way, Fantasy owners shouldn't rely on him until he's back on the court for good. We like Humphries as a mid-rage option in all formats because of his consistency and double-double potential.
News: The Bergen County Record reports that Nets forward Kris Humphries, who could be shut down for the rest of the season with ankle and heel injuries, will be a free agent this summer, and all signs point to the power forward returning to New Jersey. The report says the Nets expect Humphries to be back, and they will do everything they can to re-sign him. He is one of nine players averaging a double-double this season 10.0 points and 10.4 rebounds and is acting and talking like someone who plans to be around. "I think this year's been a great building year," Humphries said. "With the arena going up and our team feeling like we have pieces to go in the right direction obviously there's going to be some additions and stuff like that it's all going to hopefully come together in Brooklyn. Hopefully a lot of us are there to experience that." Humphries will miss his fourth straight game Wednesday night at Detroit. Nets coach Avery Johnson said if Humphries doesn't play Friday against the Knicks he likely won't play again this season. Humphries said he will to try to play, but hasn't run since he got hurt a week ago at New York. He also said he's played through back issues and some other nagging injuries.
Analysis: Humphries has been a breakout Fantasy player this season, and we hope he continues to improve with the Nets going forward. He should remain the starting power forward next to center Brook Lopez, and he would enter 2011-12 as a solid Fantasy option in all scoring formats. As for this year, owners in daily leagues should keep him reserved and continue to monitor his status if he's able to come back and play.
News: The Bergen County Record reports that Nets forward Kris Humphries, who missed his second straight game Sunday against Miami and wont play Tuesday against Minnesota because of a sprained right ankle and bruised heel, could be out for the rest of the season. Humphries, who suffered both injuries in Wednesdays loss to the Knicks, said the ankle is better but the heel is the issue and isnt sure when hell play again. Coach Avery Johnson set a return date for Friday's game against the Knicks for Humphries return. If theyre not back by Friday, then well have to take a long look at not bringing them back, Johnson said.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in all leagues should be cautious with Humphries since the Nets have nothing to play for and likely won't rush him back. He also is an impending free agent and likely won't risk a long-term injury. When healthy, Humphries has become a must-start Fantasy option in all leagues, but he might not be 100 percent again this season.
News: Nets coach Avery Johnson said prior to Sunday's game against Miami that F Kris Humphries (bruised heel) would miss the "next two games." Brandan Wright was given the start in his absence on Sunday.
Analysis: Humphries has been dealing with lingering injuries to his ankle and heel and with the Nets having absolutely nothing left to play for, he is a serious injury risk for the final scoring period of the season. Humphries has been a revelation for the Nets, putting up high-end rebound numbers to go along with decent scoring and also some good shot blocking. Without a guarantee that he'll play, however, you could be hung out to dry. Start him at your own peril. We'll have updates on his status as they become available.
News: Nets coach Avery Johnson (ankle, heel) decided to hold out F Kris Humphries once again Sunday for his team's game against Miami. Brandan Wright was given the start in his absence. Humphries is considered day to day going forward.
Analysis: Humphries has been dealing with lingering injuries to his ankle and heel and with the Nets having absolutely nothing left to play for, he is a serious injury risk for the final scoring period of the season, barring indication from the team that he will be available within the next game or two. Humphries has been a revelation for the Nets, putting up high-end rebound numbers to go along with decent scoring and also some good shot blocking. Without a guarantee that he'll play, however, you could be hung out to dry. Start him at your own peril. We'll have updates on his status as they become available.
News: As expected, Nets forward Kris Humphries did not play in Friday's 115-90 loss to the Sixers because of a heal and ankle injury. Humphries is listed as day to day with his injuries and will be re-evaluated before the Nets play Sunday's game against the Heat.
Analysis: Humphries has been playing some of his best basketball of late. The 26-year-old is averaging 14.2 points and 14.8 rebounds during the month of March and is shooting a whopping 53 percent from the field over that stretch. Hopefully he will be able to recover from his injuries enough to finish out the season. Fantasy owners in all formats should keep tabs on his status moving forward. Humphries can be considered a No. 1 Fantasy option, when healthy.
News: The Bergen County Record reports that Nets forward Kris Humphries will not play Friday night at the Sixers. He is dealing with injuries to his ankle and heel. He will be re-evaluated before the Nets play Sunday's game against the Heat.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should keep Humphries reserved, and hopefully he can return Friday against the Heat. The Nets have nothing to play for, so they will likely be cautious with Humphries, who has become a double-double threat each night. When healthy, Humphries is a must-start Fantasy option in all leagues.
News: The Bergen County Record reports that the Nets hope to keep forward Kris Humphries next season even though he is set to become a free agent. Unless Humphries prices himself too high in free agency, it's hard to see the Nets not re-signing him. He's happy playing for the Nets and coach Avery Johnson, and enjoys doing the dirty work in what has been a career season for the seventh-year power forward. "It's never been an individual thing," said Humphries, who had 18 points and a career-best 23 rebounds in Wednesday's overtime win at Cleveland. "It's just about playing hard. I try to play hard, rebound, run the floor and just try to play the right way. Whatever comes from that, it's nice. It feels good to get 20 rebounds or whatever. At the end of the day we want to try and win games and compete. You can't be out there hunting stats."
Analysis: Humphries has become one of the NBA's best rebounders ranking fifth at 10.4 per game in only 27.6 minutes and one its best stories this season. He is a journeyman who never averaged more than 7.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 17.7 minutes in any season. Last summer the Nets hoped Humphries wouldn't pick up his $3.2 million option for the season, and never expected him to be in the rotation with Troy Murphy and Derrick Favors on the roster. Murphy and Favors are gone, and Humphries is averaging 9.9 points with 27 double-doubles as he continues to make a strong pitch for the NBA's Most Improved Player award. Humphries is averaging 15.1 points and 15.9 rebounds in his past 12 games. Keep an eye on what happens with Humphries this summer, but he should be active in all leagues for the rest of this season.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries grabbed a career-high 23 rebounds and made several big plays in overtime, leading New Jersey to only their fifth road victory, 98-94 on Wednesday night against Cleveland. Humphries added 18 points on a 6-for-14 shooting performance and he converted all six of his foul shots. Nine of his boards came on the offensive end -- where the Nets had 19 total. "It was a grind," said Humphries, who set an arena record for rebounds, nine of them on offense. "Really, we just stuck with it."Humphries added four assists, two blocks and two steals in his 39 minutes of action, and remained humble in the process. "To me, it's never been an individual thing," he said. "It's all about playing hard, rebounding, running the floor and playing the right way. Whatever comes from that is nice. It feels good to get 20 rebounds, but we want to try and win games.
Analysis: Humphries is having a great year for the Nets as he continues to be a force in the paint. With Brook Lopez an ineffective rebounder, New Jersey relies on Humphries to do a lot of the dirty work in the post. Over his last 10 games, Humphries is averaging 15.0 points, 15.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per outing. His main competition for playing time was Derrick Favors, but he's now in Utah. Fantasy owners that have held on to Humphries should keep him active down the stretch as he finished the year strong. He's a solid forward option in all formats at this stage of the season.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries pushed his season averages closer to a double-double on Sunday with another big stat line at the Wizards. He scored 18 points and brought down 17 rebounds for his ninth straight double-double.
Analysis: Humphries entered play on Sunday averaging 15.3 rebounds and 15.9 rebounds in March. He has been capable of this type of production for much of his NBA career, but has been looked over as more of a reserve than a primary power forward. Since Derrick Favors was dealt to Utah in the Deron Williams deal, it has been smooth sailing for Humphries, who seems to be doing his best Kevin Love impersonation in the box score. The poor man's K-Love actually holds one advantage over the Timberwolves forward in that he is a much better shot blocker, averaging over two per game in March. Make the most of what should be a very strong finish for Humphries.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries turned in a monster performance in Friday's 102-98 win over the Clippers. Humphries finished with 19 points, a career-high 20 rebounds and made all eight of his shots in the victory while being primarily matched up with Blake Griffin. He also went a perfect 3 for 3 from the charity stripe and added a steal to his statline while logging 40 minutes.
Analysis: Humphries has thrived since Deron Williams has joined the Nets but proved on Friday he can still be a force without him. The 26-year-old has now posted double-digit rebounding totals in five straight games and is averaging 16.8 points over that stretch. Fantasy owners should keep Humphries active in the majority of formats while he is playing at such a high level. The Nets play Boston, Chicago, Milwaukee and Washington during Fantasy Week 21 (March 14-21).
News: The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Nets forward Kris Humphries has played well since the arrival of point guard Deron Williams in the trade from Utah. Humphries has posted five consecutive double-doubles and has averaged 15 points and 13.5 rebounds in the six games the Nets have played since the blockbuster deal. For the season, Humphries is averaging career highs in points (9.4 per game) and rebounds (9.7) and has posted a team-best 21 double-doubles. When you look at our season right now if it were to come to an end you can look at Humphries as being a real nice success story," Nets coach Avery Johnson said Thursday. If you look at kind of where he was when we boarded the plane to go to Russia for preseason, and where he is now, its a pretty good story, just the way hes come into his own, both as a reserve and as a starter. I think, had our record been better, he would be a guy that would garner a lot of votes for most improved player this year."
Analysis: Humphries might see a letdown with Williams out for personal reasons for a couple of games following the birth of his fourth child, but we still expect Humphries to post quality stats. While he's playing at this level Fantasy owners should keep Humphries active in all leagues. The Nets have four games in Fantasy Week 21, and Humphries should be considered a quality starter.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries had his best game since in over a month Friday against the Raptors in London. He scored 18 points on 8 of 14 shooting, and secured his latest double-double by adding 17 rebounds in the process. Humphries controlled the paint on the afternoon, tying a season-high with four blocks. He added an assist on the offensive end while logging 36 minutes of playing time as a starter.
Analysis: Humphries has posted double-doubles on a fairly consistent basis for the Nets, regardless if he's a starter or the sixth man on a given night. His 18 points was the most he's seen since January 8, and the 17 boards represents his best effort since November. Humphries wasn't affected by the move across the pond, and he's now posted three-straight double-doubles for New Jersey. He remains a solid Fantasy option in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries notched his 17th double-double of the season in Saturday's 123-108 loss to the Rockets. Humphries scored 13 points and added 11 rebounds in the blowout loss on 5 of 9 shooting from the field. He went 3 of 4 at the charity stripe but did commit three turnovers while logging 25 minutes.
Analysis: Humphries continues to clean up the glass for the Nets and is averaging a career-high 9.3 rebounds on the season. While is offensive game remains a bit inconsistent, his solid rebounding numbers and consistent minutes give him some value in deeper formats. He he started 29 of New Jersey's 59 games this season and could be in line for more minutes now that Derrick Favors is off to the Jazz. Continue to view him as a solid low-end Fantasy option heading into Fantasy Week 19 (Feb. 28-March 6). The Nets play the Suns and Raptors twice during the upcoming scoring period.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries did not have one of his better shooting games against the Spurs on Monday night. Humphries was just 1 of 5 from the field in the contest and finished with four points. He went 2 of 4 from the free-throw line and finished with seven rebounds, one block and a steal in 17 minutes off the bench. The Spurs beat the Nets 102-85.
Analysis: After scoring a combined 29 points over a two-game stretch last week, Humphries has come back down to earth. He has scored a combined 12 points in the two games since, although he has still been able to put up decent rebounding numbers over that stretch. Unfortunately Humphries is very limited offensively, which limits his value. However, he is a decent cheap source for rebounds and therefore can be considered a solid low-end Fantasy option in the second half of the season.
News: New Jersey forward Kris Humphries recorded his first double-double since Jan. 24 on Wednesday night against New Orleans. The seven-year veteran scored 14 points and grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds for the Nets. He shot 6 for 8 from the floor and connected on 2 of his 4 foul shots. Humphries added two assists in his 33 minutes of action. New Jersey was able to hold off New Orleans for the 103-101 win.
Analysis: Humphries doesn't start for the Nets anymore, but he is by far the most productive player on the glass. Center Brook Lopez has trouble rebounding and rookie Derrick Favors is still gaining experience. As long as Humphries continues to get playing time and produces with it, he'll have Fantasy value. It may not be as high as it once was, but Humphries is still a solid forward option in deeper category-based formats as he continues to have a career year.
News: New Jersey forward Kris Humphries tallied 16 points and seven rebounds in the Nets' 106-92 loss to Philadelphia on Wednesday night. Humphries connected on 7 of 9 attempts from the field to finish above 62 percent for the third time in his last five games. The seventh-year forward added a block and an assist as New Jersey lost for the third time in its last four games.
Analysis: Humphries has been a solid producer on the glass throughout the season (9.3 rpg) but has shown an ability to be a viable scorer in spurts as well. He has now totaled 31 points in his last two games after scoring just one point in the previous two contests before. Humphries is still battling Derrick Favors for playing time but if he can continue his scoring production, he will make for a solid Fantasy option. Consider him an option in deeper leagues for now.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries' scoring slump continued in Saturday's 91-81 loss to the Bucks. Humphries scored just one point in the contest, which came from the charity stripe. He missed all six shots he took from the field in the 10-point loss, but did finish with 10 rebounds and a block in 24 minutes off the bench. Humphries has now scored a combined one point over his last two contests.
Analysis: Humphries had scored in double digits in five of his previous six games prior to his recent two game scoring slump. He continues to come off the bench and hopefully will be able to find his scoring touch sooner rather than later. Despite his recent offensive struggles, Humphries has had an outstanding season, averaging career highs in almost every category across the board. Continue to him as a No. 4 Fantasy forward heading into Fantasy Week 15 (Jan. 31-Feb. 6).
News: Nets F Kris Humphries had another solid performance off the bench on Monday night against the Cavaliers. He scored 11 points and hauled in 11 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, in the 103-101 win. He went just 3 of 10 from the floor, but was able to convert 5 of 8 free throws while playing 31 minutes. Humphries also chipped in with one assist and one steal in the victory. It was his third consecutive double-double.
Analysis: Humphries has seen a larger role in New Jersey recently and is averaging 10.6 points with 10.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists over his last five contests. He is shooting 51 percent from the floor over that span and has garnered the backing of his coach Avery Johnson. Johnson said before Monday's game that he would like to see the 25-year-old stay with the Nets. Hopefully that will come to fruition as Humphries has really found his niche. He is averaging career highs in almost every category this season and should be considered a viable option in deeper leagues, especially while he's playing like this.
News: New Jersey forward Kris Humphries recorded 12 points and five rebounds in the Nets' 103-95 victory over Utah on Wednesday night. Humphries hit 5 of 7 shot from the field to post double digits in back-to-back outings for the third time this month. Humphries also committed three turnovers for the third time in his last nine games while dealing with foul trouble throughout the night.
Analysis: Humphries, who did rack up five fouls, played less than 25 minutes for the second straight game. He is still battling rookie Derrick Favors for playing time at the power forward position and saw seven fewer minutes (30 to 23) than Favors in Wednesday's game. He has connected on 14 of his last 32 shots and has not reached his season average in minutes (25.4) in his last two games. Continue to monitor the position battle and consider Humphries a viable option in deeper leagues.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries continues to play well for the Nets, no matter if it's as a starter or off the bench. He has scored at least 12 points in four of the last five games, including Wednesday's 16 point effort against the Suns in overtime. He shot an efficient 6 of 11 from the field, and added six rebounds and three blocks defensively. He also chipped in two assists in 33 minutes of action.
Analysis: Humphries has produced in New Jersey no matter his role. He's seen a fluctuation in minutes over the last two weeks, but has made the most of the opportunity. Humphries is good for hustle plays and chips in points in bunches when he gets going. He's nearly averaging a double-double in January despite the constant change, which warrants him solid Fantasy value moving forward. Continue viewing Humphries as a viable forward option in deeper leagues, especially Rotisserie formats.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries logged 19 minutes on Friday night against the Wizards. He was a question mark entering the game as he missed part of practice on Thursday with a thigh injury. Humphries shot 4 for 8 from the floor, finishing with eight points and eight rebounds. He added an assist for the Nets. Washington went on to win the game, 97-77.
Analysis: Humphries lost his starting job to rookie Derrick Favors recently, but is still seeing quality minutes off the bench. Humphries is a change of pace player that coach Avery Johnson really likes. That's a good thing, because he'll be able to contribute for Fantasy owners. Over his last five games he's averaging 9.2 points and 9.4 boards per outing. Anytime a player averages around a double-double, they have Fantasy value. Continue viewing him as a viable forward option in deeper leagues, especially Rotisserie formats.
News: The Bergen Record reports that Nets PF Kris Humphries missed part of practice Thursday with a thigh injury but should be fine for Friday's game at Washington.
Analysis: Humphries is having a career season so far in his first full campaign with the Nets, averaging 9.3 rebounds and 8.1 points. He also put up a team-high 20 points in Wednesday's win over the Bulls. The journeyman is finally getting some decent minutes (25.3 a game) and is making the most of it. Continue to use him in deeper leagues, especially Rotisserie ones, as his rebounding skills can be very useful.
News: With Nets coach Avery Johnson inserting rookie Derrick Favors into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Bulls, forward Kris Humphries became the team's first option off of the bench. Favors drew two fouls within the game's first four minutes, so Humphries was called upon early, and it went as if he was the starter all night long. Humphries poured in a team-high 20 points on 10 of 15 shooting to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds to complete his second straight double-double. He also managed to block a shot and swipe a steal in his 38 minutes of extended action with Favors in foul trouble the entire night.
Analysis: Humphries continues to play with the utmost energy, and on Wednesday night he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. He attacked the basket right away, and the team ran the offense through him for most of the night. Favors' foul trouble led to the most playing time Humphries had seen in more than a month. Monitor the situation and what Johnson decides in the next few games, but if Wednesday was any indication, Favors would start but Humphries would not see the hit in minutes that we originally thought. Granted, the rookie was in foul trouble and the season is at a loss for New Jersey. For now, Humphries remains a high-risk, high-reward Fantasy option.
News: Nets coach Avery Johnson announced Wednesday that rookie Derrick Favors will replace Kris Humphries as the team's starting power forward. "This is just the right time to get him in the lineup," said Johnson. Humphries had 12 points with 14 rebounds on Tuesday in Minnesota.
Analysis: Favors has not been doing much lately in game action, averaging just 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds over his last five games. It seems that Johnson has decided, with the Nets going nowhere this season, that it is time to get his first-round pick out there to start to develop him. Humphries will likely see a hit to his playing time, though how much exactly remains to be seen. A nice, cheap source for rebounds and blocks, Humphries is likely on the verge of becoming an obsolete Fantasy option. Monitor this situation.
News: New Jersey forward Kris Humphries recorded 12 points and 14 rebounds in the Nets' 103-88 loss at Minnesota on Saturday night. It was Humphries' 10th double-double of the season as he out-dueled Timberwolves center Kevin Love (14-10) in a battle between two of the league's top rebounding leaders. Humphries connected on 5 of 7 shots from the field to post a percentage above 50 percent for the first time in four games. Humphries did commit three turnovers while adding just one assist.
Analysis: Humphries continues to battle rookie Derrick Favors for playing time at New Jersey's power forward position. Humphries tallied more than twice as many minutes in Saturday's game (29-12) and should remain the starter with consistent efforts similar to his output against Minnesota. He's now averaging 9.1 rebounds per game but just 7.7 points per outing and should be considered a low-end Fantasy contributor. He's only owned in 70 percent of CBS leagues and could be worth a possible addition to your roster if you're looking for help at the forward position, especially in category-based formats.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries scored seven points on 2 of 6 shooting in Monday's 104-88 loss to the magic. Humphries logged 27 minutes in the contest and added 11 rebounds in the contest to go along with two blocks and a pair of steals.
Analysis: Humphries has played well ever since being inserted into the starting lineup for New Jersey. He is still a bit limited offensively ,however, continues to be a great source for rebounds and blocks. As long as he continues to see decent minutes, he will have value in deeper category-based leagues.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries notched another double-double in Tuesday's 101-94 win over the Grizzlies. Humphries scored 12 points in the contest to go along with 15 rebounds. He played 29 minutes in the contest and also added an assist and a block in the victory.
Analysis: Humphries has been playing well for New Jersey ever since being inserted into the starting lineup. While is offensive game is still a little rough around the edges he continues to pound the glass and block shots. Continue to roll with him in deeper category-based leagues at this point.
News: For the third time in five games, Nets forward Kris Humphries recorded a double-double. Humphries shot 5 for 7 from the field and hit 2 of his 4 foul shots on Thursday night, finishing with 12 points and a team-high 17 rebounds. He would add an assist in his 36 minutes of action, but would also commit a team-high five turnovers. The Nets would hold off the Wizards, 97-89, though behind Humphries dominance on the glass.
Analysis: Humphries doesn't normally score too much for the Nets, so his double figures on Thursday was a nice bonus for Fantasy owners. Over his last five games Humphries is averaging 9.8 points and 12.2 rebounds per contest. His Fantasy value lies in the blocks and rebounds category, so he's doing his job well. Keep him active in deeper leagues as he's playing a lot of minutes and contributing.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries continues to start for New Jersey -- of course, the Nets started Stephen Graham and Quinton Ross as well on Tuesday against the 76ers. Humphries continued playing well, however, notching double-digit rebounds for the third straight game. He shot just 1 of 10 from the field, however, and scored only two points. He ripped 13 rebounds, though, and blocked a shot as well over 21 minutes on the court.
Analysis: Humphries is averaging 9.2 rebounds per game over his last five contests and has been in double figures in three straight. He had two double-doubles over that span before Tuesday's poor scoring effort. Fantasy owners only have him for his rebounding and his blocks ability. He's still doing that so continue to make room for him in deeper leagues.
News: The Bergen County Record reports that Nets coach Avery Johnson hinted Tuesday that rookie Derrick Favors could join the starting lineup soon. Johnson was discussing Troy Murphys minutes and said hes behind two power forwards Kris Humphries and Favors. "And one of those two guys is probably going to [be] starting here sometime soon," Johnson said.
Analysis: Well, Humphries is already starting. So our great deduction skills allow us to come to the conclusion that that guy would be Favors. Humphries, a solid rebounder, is averaging just 6.0 points over his last five games. He is averaging 7.8 rebounds in that same span, but Fantasy owners who may be relying on him for help in that area in category leagues may not want to get too attached.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries scored eight points in just 24 minutes in Tuesday's 116-101 loss to the Hawks. Humphries shot 3 of 7 from the field and also chipped in with seven rebounds and five assists in the contest.
Analysis: Humphries recent strong play and earned him more playing time this season, but his numbers have started to fall off a bit of late. He is averaging 6.0 points and just 7.8 rebounds over his last five contests while seeing about 23 minutes a game. While he is very limited offensively, Humphries remains a strong source for rebounds and blocks. Keep him active in the majority of leagues at this point.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries ripped down 15 rebounds over 39 minutes in the triple-overtime loss to Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Humphries scored six points in the game on 3 of 6 shooting and he added two blocked shots.
Analysis: The Nets' starting power forward is averaging 11.2 rebounds over his last five games. That only comes with 6.6 points per game, but also with 1.8 blocks. For boards and blocks, Humphries has been a really solid Fantasy option in all leagues.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries, a journeyman who began the season as third on the depth chart, has made projected starter Troy Murphy an afterthought in New Jersey, averaging 10.0 points and 11.9 rebounds in nine games. "What a great story," coach Avery Johnson told the New York Post. "Look at what Humphries is doing." And though he seemed like just a temporary solution at first, the 25-year-old is earning favor with every start. "He's matched up [against the tougher post offensive players] and does a good job without us double teaming [to help deter rotation woes]," Johnson said. "Especially when he was in Utah, he concentrated too much on offense. He is concentrating more on anchoring defense and offensively he has shortened up his package. Or maybe I have."
Analysis: Clearly, the Nets like what Humphries is doing, so an eventual switch back to Murphy is no guarantee. Murphy has been active recently to work with strength and conditioning coaches, so he clearly hasn't won Johnson over. He might not get an opportunity to start without a trade, which is a testament to what Humphries is doing. Humphries still has to look over his shoulder for first-round pick Derrick Favors, but he looks like a safe add as a low-end starter in Fantasy.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries is proving to be more than just a rebounder since being promoted to the starting lineup. He scored 12 points with 14 rebounds in Tuesday's game against the Hawks. He is averaging 11.0 points and 11.7 rebounds in six starts.
Analysis: Humphries is enjoying an unexpected major role with Troy Murphy falling out of favor. He is doing more than enough to continue to buy himself major playing time, but beware the looming presence of Murphy in the background and the presence of rookie Derrick Favors. In the long run, this type of playing time may not always be there for Humphries. In the short-term, make the most of it. He is worthy of starting in most formats at this time.
News: Nets forward Kris Humphries found his scoring touch in Friday's 86-81 loss to the Kings. Humphries scored a season-high 18 points in the loss on 9 of 12 shooting from the floor. He grabbed 10 rebounds in 31 minutes of action and also chipped in with two dimes and an assist.
Analysis: Humphries has found himself in the starting lineup for New Jersey and has been taking full advantage of his extended minutes. He has recorded a double-double in three of his last five contests and is averaging 12.4 rebounds over that stretch. With rumors flying around that Troy Murphey could be traded, Humphries could find himself as permanent fixture in the starting lineup. Fantasy owners may want to think about adding Humphries to their lineups while he is playing so well.
News: New Jersey forward Kris Humphries continues to be a monster on the glass for the Nets. He scored eight points and grabbed 15 rebounds on Wednesday night against the Jazz. Over his last four games he's averaging 13 boards a game. Humphries went 3 fro 6 from the field and hit both his foul shots in Wednesday's 96-88 loss to Utah. He also added two blocks for the Nets.
Analysis: Since he's been seeing significant playing time with Troy Murphy dealing with some "physical issues" and currently being out of the rotation. Coach Avery Johnson has mixed the starting rotation around a lot so far this year and he said it could change some more. But while Humphries is starting and putting up solid numbers, Fantasy owners should view him as a viable option in category-based formats that value that reward rebounds.
News: The Nets will stick with Kris Humphries as their starting power forward, according to the Newark Star-Ledger, relegating Troy Murphy to the bench. "This is a year where were young, were in transition (and) were looking at a lot of different combinations," coach Avery Johnson said. "We hope to get settled on something." Humphries had 13 points and 12 rebounds in 32 minutes as the starter Monday at the Clippers. Murphy didn't play at all. "Weve seen Joe Smith start; weve seen Humphries start; weve seen Murphy start," Johnson said. "We think, to help protect Brook (Lopez), the skill set that Humphries has seems to be working out. But it could change."
Analysis: Given his number of minutes in recent days, Humphries isn't the starter in title alone. He's playing starter's minutes and putting up starter's numbers, recording two double-doubles in his last three games. He could always lose his job to Murphy down the road, but right now, he's worth a look as a low-end forward in Fantasy.
News: With New Jersey F Terrence Williams (abdominal) missing another game Monday at the Los Angeles Clippers, power forward Kris Humphries got another start. Humphries had played big minutes in his last two games with Williams out and got 32 against the Clippers. He scored 13 points on 5 of 7 shooting with 12 big rebounds. He is averaging 10 points and 12.3 boards in his last three games seeing starter's minutes.
Analysis: Humphries, when he's getting minutes, can put together a pretty solid line for little-used power forward. In a recent game at Cleveland, Humphries scored 13 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, blocked two shots and even dished out three assists. Any Fantasy owner would be appreciative of that kind of production. That said, he followed it with just four points and seven rebounds and he'll continue to be erratic while filling in for Williams. Humphries can see a slight boost in deeper Fantasy leagues for Week 4 (Nov. 15-21).
News: Cleveland was facing the same Kris Humphries they played against on Tuesday but this version seemed different. The Nets started Humphries, who scored four points and grabbed two rebounds against Cleveland on Tuesday in New Jersey, because Troy Murphy sat out the game with an injury. This version of Humphries, the upgraded version, went off to score 13 points and grab 18 rebounds for a monster double-double. He played 40 minutes and shot 6 of 12 from the field. Humphries added three assists and two blocked shots.
Analysis: Humphries came into Wednesday's game averaging 14.4 minutes per game on the year. He only saw more minutes because Murphy was out. That said, he didn't do much earlier in the year when Murphy was missing time. Murphy missing time due to injury is going to happen often this season but it won't always be Humphries who sees the benefit. Derrick Favors is probably preferred in New Jersey thanks to his youth. Humphries just had the hot hand on Wednesday and shouldn't be added off waivers just yet in most Fantasy leagues.
News: About the only thing that kept the Nets close was the play of backup forward Kris Humphries, who made his first five shots from the floor against the Magic on Friday. Dwight Howard had center Brook Lopez completely out of rhythm and heaving up off-balance shots, fumbling the ball and throwing it away. Humphries finished the night going 6 for 7 from the field and 1 for 2 from the foul line, netting 13 points. He also had four rebounds, one assist and one block in his 17 minutes. He had 17 points and 18 boards through the first four games of the season.
Analysis: Coach Avery Johnson has said he likes Humphries energy off the bench for the Nets, and that was definitely seen on Friday. He's a "change-of-speed guy" for New Jersey and is a key component for them, Fantasy owners can't expect this kind of performance out of him on a nightly basis. In his 360 career NBA games, Humphries averages 4.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game. He can be ignored in all formats at this time.
News: According to the Newark Star-Ledger Nets coach Avery Johnson is a fan of having forward Kris Humphries come off the bench for New Jersey. Troy Murphy was healthy enough to start on Wednesday, which meant Humphries wouldn't make his ninth start in his seven-year career. We love his energy coming off the bench, Johnson said before the 85-83 loss to the Bobcats. There have been times where we started him in the third quarter of a game, and he gave us some valuable minutes. Hes that change-of-speed guy.
Analysis: In his 360 career NBA games, Humphries averages 4.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game. Through four games this season, he's totaled 17 points, 18 rebounds and two steals. With Murphy and rookie Derrick Favors ahead of him on the depth chart, Humphries will continue to play his role off the bench. That doesn't give him much Fantasy value, which means owners can continue to ignore him in all formats.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries came off the bench for 18 minutes on Wednesday in the season opener against the Pistons. Joe Smith started at power forward and played just five minutes while rookie Derrick Favors was impressive over 20 minutes off the bench. All three are in the mix for playing time at power forward with Troy Murphy out. Humphries scored four points on 2 of 2 shooting and added six rebounds.
Analysis: Humphries is definitely a better Fantasy option than Smith, the starter, while Murphy is out. That said, it looks like Favors could overtake both of them as he neared a double-double over 20 minutes. Humphries could be a cheap source of boards while Murphy is down with the injury but he really doesn't have much value.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries got the start at power forward in his first preseason action of the season against Israeli team Maccabi Haifa. He was very active on the boards, collecting a game-high 12 rebounds with two assists, two steals and a block. However, he shot just 1 for 5 from the field and finished with only six points. He was 4 for 4 from the foul line.
Analysis: Humphries got the start, but he'll find playing time hard to come by in the regular season. The Nets have Troy Murphy, who missed the preseason opener due to injury, and Derrick Favors ahead of him as players who are expected to see more playing time. Don't look to Humphries as a viable draft choice in any format, but remember his rebounding ability in deeper category leagues if he finds himself a good amount of playing time.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries injured his right elbow in the first half of Monday's game against the Bobcats and did not return. He finished with zero points, three rebounds and a steal in nine minutes.
Analysis: Humphries is averaging just 7.4 points and 5.8 rebounds over his last five games. With the Nets season all but over, there may be no rush to get Humphries back on the court. Leave him reserved in all formats.
News: F Chris Humphries added 10 points and a season-high tying 12 rebounds as New Jersey defeated the Hornets on Saturday. Humphries shot 5 of 8 from the floor while making major contributions on the defensive end, blocking five shots and collecting four steals. He has now scored in double figures in back-to-back games.
Analysis: Humphries is showing improvement down the final stretch, but he is averaging just 8.4 points points over his last five games. He is averaging 7.4 rebounds, however, and could be used as a cheap source of rebounds in 12-team and deeper leagues at this point.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries had just four points with eight rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench Saturday against Chicago. He is averaging five points and seven rebounds in his last five games.
Analysis: Humphries has been able to contribute at times this season, but his current role off the Nets' bench does not lead to much production. He can be a cheap source for rebounds and blocks in deeper Rotisserie formats, but that is about it.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries doesn't often score in double figures but did so on Wednesday against the 76ers. He shot 3 for 7 from the field over 23 minutes to score 10 points. He grabbed seven rebounds and added a steal.
Analysis: Humphries is averaging just 7.8 ppg with 5.4 rebounds over his last five. He has minimal Fantasy value for the deeper formats, at best.
News: According to the New York Daily News, Nets coach Kiki Vandeweghe expects F Yi Jianlian (ankle) to miss 7-10 days. He has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and did not accompany the Nets on their four-game trip that began Monday in Memphis. Expect Kris Humphries to see a boost in playing time in his absence.
Analysis: Yi was in a walking boot when he left the arena Saturday and will need to be cleared to practice before he can play. This development means that Yi, who was enjoying a bit of a hot streak, should be benched in all formats until further notice. Humphries will see a boost in minutes, but remains just a Fantasy stopgap for larger formats.
News: According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Yi Jianlian did not accompany the Nets on their four-game trip that begins Monday in Memphis because of the high ankle sprain he suffered Saturday night against the Knicks. The Nets consider him out indefinitely. Kris Humphries is likely to start in his place.
Analysis: The Nets say there is no timetable for a return, but according to the report Yi does not think the injury is that bad. Still, he could not put pressure on it Saturday and was in a walking boot when he left the arena. This development means that Yi, who was enjoying a bit of a hot streak, will be too risky for Fantasy Week 20 (March 8-14). Humphries makes for a sleeper stopgap measure in deeper leagues as a result.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries recorded his third double-double of the season on Saturday in a win at Boston. Humphries shot 2 for 4 from the field and went 7 for 10 from the free-throw line over 24 minutes to score 11 points. He grabbed 10 rebounds, picked up four steals and blocked two shots as well in the rare road victory over the the Celtics.
Analysis: The Nets play a tough three-game schedule over Week 19 (March 1-7) and unfortunately, this kind of game is not the norm for Humphries. We can only suggest his use in the deepest of Fantasy leagues at this time.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries grabbed 12 rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench Wednesday against the Heat. Humphries didn't have a very good shooting day, however. He managed one field goal in seven tries for two points. He also had one steal and one blocked shot.
Analysis: Humphries has managed 10 or more rebounds in three of eight February games. He has been on a pretty good run since New Jersey added Humphries in January. His stats lines are still a bit erratic, but he is having some double-digit scoring games and is rebounding well. Humphries has emerged as a low-end Fantasy flier.
News: The second half of the NBA season started differently for the Nets. They actually won a game. Winning for the fifth time all season, the Nets beat the Bobcats in Charlotte on Tuesday night, 103-94. Nets PF Kris Humphries came off the bench for 22 minutes and scored 13 points with eight rebounds. He went 6 of 11 from the field.
Analysis: Humphries has been a nice help off the bench for the Nets, especially in Tuesday's win. He's averaging 7.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game over his last five over 21.2 minutes a night. Those numbers are the high end of his ability but he can be used right now in very deep Fantasy leagues.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries recorded a double-double on Wednesday during a loss in Toronto. Humphries helped keep the Nets in the game for three quarters as he scored 13 points on 5 of 12 shooting with 11 rebounds. He added a block.
Analysis: Humphries is averaging over 11 points and almost eight rebounds per game over his last five. Those numbers don't warrant must-start status but it does make him interesting in deeper leagues.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries only played 16 minutes against Philadelphia on Sunday as he scored just two points on 1 of 5 shooting. He grabbed five rebounds and added a steal in the 83-79 loss.
Analysis: Humphries scored 25 points over 30 minutes in the Nets last win on Jan. 27 against the Clippers. The Nets don't win often, however, seeing as they've done so just four times on the entire season and Humphries figures to remain inconsistent in all aspects of his game. He's averaging 10.8 PPG over his last five and that is counting the 25-point effort. He normally doesn't play 20 minutes per game and only brings low-end Fantasy value to the table. New Jersey plays fours times in Week 15 (Feb. 1-7) but has tough matchups that will likely equal four losses.
News: Nets PF Kris Humphries scored a career-high 25 points against the Clippers on Wednesday. He shot 10 of 14 from the field, adding eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in a season-high 30 minutes.
Analysis: Humphries is making the most of his increased minutes, averaging 14.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in his last five games. He has scored in double figures in four of his last six outings. Keep an eye on Humphries, as his Fantasy value is increasing with each game. At this point he is certainly worth picking up in deeper leagues.
News: Nets F Kris Humphries scored a career-high 21 points in a 106-95 defeat to the Clippers on Monday. In 28 minutes of play, Humphries was 9 of 14 from the field with seven rebounds. It was his second game in double figures this month.
Analysis: Humphries has put together back-to-back games of double figure scoring. Fantasy owners in daily leagues might want to give Humphries a shot because he has a hot hand and a favorable three game schedule. Fantasy owners in weekly leagues might want to monitor his progress and see if he remains hot enough to start for Fantasy Week 14 (Jan.25-31). He generally is not worthy of a Fantasy start with his stats, but he is showing potential.
News: In his first game with the New Jersey Nets, power forward Kris Humphries played 17 minutes and scored nine points. He did not shoot well as he went just 1 for 8 from the field but he did go 7 for 10 from the free-throw line. Humphries added eight rebounds and a block.
Analysis: Humphries definitely proved a decent source of rebounds and if he can shoot better, his scoring should be pretty good as well for the Nets. He'll finally garner some playing time and that will definitely increase his value in Fantasy.
News: The Dallas Mavericks have acquired Eduardo Najera from the New Jersey Nets in exchange for forwards Kris Humphries and Shawne Williams.
Analysis: Humphries averaged 5.2 points in 25 games for the Mavericks. Williams hasn't played for Dallas since last January. Neither has any Fantasy appeal.
News: On Monday, the NBA office is expected to approve a trade that will send Nets F Eduardo Najera to the Mavericks for F Kris Humphries and swingman Shawne Williams.
Analysis: Humphries had a big preseason, but he hasn't gotten much opportunity to perform for the Mavericks. He might get more playing time with the Nets, but as a reserve, he won't make an impact in Fantasy.
News: Dallas PF Kris Humphries recorded his first double-double on Friday in a win at Indiana. Humphries scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. He added a block and shot 3 of 10 from the field over 23 minutes on the court.
Analysis: Humphries only has low-end Fantasy value but could help owners in deeper leagues in Week 6 (Nov. 30-Dec. 6) because the Mavs play four times.
News: Mavericks PF Kris Humphries, who averaged 13.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in seven preseason games, played only five minutes off the bench in the season opener Tuesday against the Wizards. He finished with one assist.
Analysis: Typical Humphries. He makes a splash in the preseason and then disappears during the regular season. The Mavericks already have one big man off the bench in Drew Gooden, so you can't expect Humphries to get much playing time. Leave him on waivers.
News: Mavericks PF Kris Humphries continued his strong preseason with 14 points and nine rebounds in only 18 minutes off the bench Thursday against the Pistons. He has scored in double figures in all four preseason games, averaging 13.8 points and 7.0.
Analysis: Humphries has played five NBA seasons and never averaged more than 5.7 points per game. Safe to say his preseason performance won't carry over into the regular season. Continue to ignore him in Fantasy.
News:Jason Terry scored 23 points, including a pair of 3-pointers on consecutive possessions down the stretch, and the Dallas Mavericks went on to a 114-107 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night. Dirk Nowitzki made his first four field-goal attempts, all mid-range jumpers, and finished with 26 points for the Mavericks (2-1). Kris Humphries added 16 points and nine rebounds, and Shawn Marion contributed 15 points for Dallas.
Analysis: Humphries is not a player who will see the kind of playing time he is getting in the preseason during the regular season, but Fantasy owners should keep this in mind if he should find himself playing significant minutes. He'd be worth adding off the waiver wire if that happens.
News: Dallas PF Kris Humphries was able to return to action during Monday's preseason game against the Magic. He had been dealing with a leg problem. Humphries played 17 minutes and scored 10 points with three rebounds.
Analysis: Humphries is not expected to have a big role with the Mavs this season. He's not worth taking in Fantasy Drafts at this time.
News:Shawn Marion is headed to the Dallas Mavericks, Jerry Stackhouse is going to the Memphis Grizzlies and Hedo Turkoglu is going to Toronto Raptors in a complex deal involving four teams. The deal, announced Thursday, involves five other players, a draft pick and cash. Among the other pieces: Forward Kris Humphries and center Nathan Jawai are going from Toronto to Dallas; guard Greg Buckner is going from Memphis to Dallas; and swingmen Antoine Wright and Devean George are going from Dallas to Toronto. Memphis also is getting a second-round pick and cash from Toronto. Orlando is getting cash from Dallas and Toronto in exchange for dealing Turkoglu.
Analysis: Humphries and Jawai will simply provide depth on the Dallas roster. Neither player is expected to play a big enough role to be considered useful in any Fantasy league. Humphries had his season end prematurely last fall with a leg injury and Jawai missed much of his rookie season with a heart ailment.
News: Toronto Raptors forward Kris Humphries is out indefinitely with a broken leg. The Raptors said Wednesday X-rays showed his right fibula was fractured. Humphries was kicked in the leg Sunday against the Phoenix Suns, missed the following game and Wednesday's matchup against the Detroit Pistons.
Analysis: Humphries is averaging 3.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 9.1 minutes this season for the Raptors. Most Fantasy owners won't notice he's gone, to be honest. He is not a prominent part of the team's rotation and should be left on waivers in Fantasy.
News: Toronto PF Kris Humphries missed Wednesday's game in Detroit because of a shin injury. He remains day to day with the injury.
Analysis: Humphries is going to see a doctor Wednesday or Thursday to see what the problem is and how long he may be out. Most Fantasy owners won't notice he's gone, to be honest. He is not a prominent part of the team's rotation and should be left on waivers in Fantasy.
News: Raptors PF Kris Humphries (right knee tendinitis) was able to return from a seven-game absence to play in Wednesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Analysis: Humphries is averaging more than 11 minutes off the bench when healthy, but he is not one of the Raptors' top offensive players and that isn't expected to change anytime soon. He has pretty much been a bench player his entire career and has little to no Fantasy value
News: Raptors PF Kris Humphries (right knee tendinitis) did not return to action Monday against the Nets. He has missed the last seven games and remains questionable heading into Wednesday against the Mavs.
Analysis: Humphries is averaging more than 11 minutes off the bench when healthy, but he is not one of the Raptors' top offensive players and that isn't expected to change anytime soon. He has pretty much been a bench player his entire career and has little to no Fantasy value

Analysis: Humphries is not getting significant playing time this season and that does not figure to change anytime soon. Leave him on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: According to The Sports Xchange, Raptors F/C Kris Humphries, who had been buried on the bench as the fourth big man behind Chris Bosh, Jermaine O'Neal and then-backup Andrea Bargnani, was back in the regular rotation Sunday against the Heat. And making a solid contribution. With Bargnani elevated to the starting small forward role, Humphries played 16 minutes with 14 points, nine rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Humphries came awfully close to a double-double with relatively minimal playing time. As long as Bargnani remains in the starting lineup, Humphries figures to get only more minutes, so keep an eye on him as a potential big man off the bench in deeper leagues. Of course, he'll need much more than 16 minutes per game to become viable in standard 10- or 12-team leagues.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that F/C Kris Humphries played in the second quarter of Monday's game, the first time this season he's been called on when a game was still in doubt.
Analysis: Humphries is not getting significant playing time this season and that does not figure to change anytime soon. Leave him on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: The Raptors are one of the three-game teams in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 2) and two of those games come against a Warriors team that gave up the most points in the NBA last season (108.8 ppg) and a Milwaukee team that gave up the seventh most (103.9 ppg). That means that their roster should be ripe with one-week, stopgap options to choose from.
Analysis: Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon will start at shooting guard and small forward and could score in double figures with respectable totals across the line. Consider them as No. 4 options this week in 12-team leagues. Moon has been dealing with a heel injury and did not have a particularly good preseason, though. Off the bench, Andrea Bargnani remains a low-end option until he proves otherwise. The same goes for Jason Kapono, Roko Ukic, Will Solomon and Kris Humphries.
News:Kris Humphries averaged career-highs in scoring (5.7), rebounding (3.7) and games played (70) during the 2007-08 regular season. He also averaged a career-best 13.3 minutes per contest. He had a very solid month of December, averaging 10.5 points and 6.2 rebounds while playing 21.3 minutes per game.
Analysis: Humphries proved during December that he can be a useful player when given the playing time. Unfortunately, that stint was short-lived. He'll be worth taking a late-round flier on in deeper leagues in the hopes he starts to see some of that playing time in his third season in Toronto. He'll be waiver wire fodder for the most part, but keep him in mind.
News: Raptors F Kris Humphries had 5 points with a rebound in 6 minutes of action off the bench Monday at Indiana. He hasn't played double-digit minutes in a game since Feb. 13.
Analysis: Humphries had his most productive month in December when he averaged 10.5 points. At the moment, he is not far enough up the depth chart to be useful in Fantasy leagues.
News: Raptors PF Kris Humphries provided a spark off the bench Tuesday against the Wizards as he went 8 of 9 from the field on his way to 16 points. Humphries, who also had four rebounds, now has scored double figures twice in his last six games.
Analysis: Humphries had his most productive month in December when he averaged 10.5 points. He came into Tuesday's game averaging 4.0 points in January, so as you can see, his numbers are back to being irrelevant. He is once again a low-end Fantasy reserve.
News: Raptors PF Kris Humphries scored in double figures for the first time in nine games when he scored 11 points in 20 minutes off the bench Wednesday against the Kings. He also had five rebounds and one assist.
Analysis: Humphries had his most productive month in December when he averaged 10.5 points. He came into Wednesday's game averaging 3.2 points in January, so as you can see, his numbers are back to being irrelevant. He is once again a low-end Fantasy reserve.
News: Raptors PF Kris Humphries had 14 points with 11 rebounds Friday at San Antonio, notching his second double-double of the season.
Analysis: The Raptors have begun to entrust him with more and more minutes with Jamario Moon struggling. Humphries is available in 85 percent of leagues and is a nice add.
News: After he scored a season-high 17 points Friday at Indiana, Raptors PF Kris Humphries has now broken 15 in three of his last four games.
Analysis: Humphries has averaged 7.8 rebounds per game over the same four games, and the Raptors have begun to entrust him with more and more minutes with Jamario Moon struggling. Humphries could eventually supplant Moon in Fantasy lineups, so keep an eye on him. Fantasy owners in deeper leagues should make a play for him now if he remains unowned.
News: Raptors PF Kris Humphries scored a season-high 17 points off the bench in Monday's win vs. Charlotte. He added six rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.
Analysis: Humphries enjoyed more playing time than he normally would because Chris Bosh is injured. We would not consider him a long term option, but he can be a quick fix in larger formats.
News: Raptors PF Kris Humphries matched a career-high with 16 points in a career-high 32 minutes as Toronto fell 112-85 to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night.
Analysis: Humphries benefited greatly on Tuesday from the complete ineptness of the Toronto starting lineup to post the best game in his three-year career. He has only put up double-digit points eight times in the NBA, so don't expect this kind of output on a regular basis. Leave him alone in all Fantasy leagues for now.
News: The Toronto Raptors signed forward Kris Humphries to a contract extension through the 2010-11 season Wednesday.
Analysis: Humphries should not be on Fantasy rosters at this time. He is not going to see enough of a role this season to matter in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Third-year forward-center Kris Humphries made his first start as a Raptor against the Clippers on Wednesday. It was hardly a rousing debut; he played just 12 minutes with three points, two rebounds and four fouls.
Analysis: Humphries is filling in for the injured Jorge Garbajosa. He will likely be out of the starting rotation once he returns from injury. Humphries should not be owned in Fantasy leagues.
News: Raptors forward Kris Humphries got his first assist of the season on Friday -- after playing 89 minutes over 10 games so far.
Analysis: Humphries should not be on Fantasy rosters at this time.

News: Kris Humphries is playing only 13.5 mpg and is averaging only 4.6 ppg this season for the Jazz.
Analysis: Humphries has shown flashes of being able to contribute on a regular basis, but never at a consistent pace. He shouldn't be considered much of a Fantasy option.
News: Utah's Kris Humphries had 11 points and nine rebounds in 26 minutes Wednesday against New Jersey.
Analysis: The second-year pro could be worth a flyer in deep leagues if he continues to produce.
News: Kris Humphries scored in double figures for the first time in his career, finishing with 10 points in Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Humphries failed to score in double figures in his first 47 games this season. He could develop into a decent frontcourt player, but is not worth a roster spot at this time.
News: After leaving college after one season, Kris Humphries is seeing 10.0 minutes per game during his rookie campaign with the Jazz. He's averaging 2.9 PPG and 2.1 RPG in 29 contests.
Analysis: Humphries is not worth a roster spot this season, but has the skills to one-day be a solid frontcourt player. Expect him to make more of a Fantasy impact next season.
News: Kris Humphries (knee) was activated from the injured list on Tuesday.
Analysis: Humphries is a reserve forward who does not warrant any Fantasy consideration.
