Martin has been bothered by a hamstring injury, which caused him to miss Monday's contest.

(3/24/2015) Once again, the Timberwolves released a lengthy injury report for their upcoming game Wednesday against the Lakers.

Guards Gary Neal (hand), Ricky Rubio (ankle) and forward Kevin Garnett (knee) are all listed as doubtful, the team announced. Also on the injury report were center Justin Hamilton (migraine) and guard Kevin Martin (hamstring), who are considered questionable. Center Nikola Pekovic (ankle) and forward Anthony Bennett have been ruled out.

(3/18/2015) Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin scored 37 points on 14 of 28 shooting from the field, tying a season high, in Minnesota's 105-100 loss to the Raptors Wednesday.

Martin also pulled down seven rebounds and added one steal and one block to his totals. It was Martin's first 30-plus point game in last 17 contests. Martin also went 5 of 9 from 3-point range on the night.

(3/16/2015) Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin dropped a game-high 23 points in Monday night's 122-106 loss to the Nets. 

Martin, in 32 minutes, went 7-of-16 from the field, made three of his five three-point attempts and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Martin also contributed six assists and three rebounds. 

This is the sixth game in a row that Martin has scored in double figures. 

Zach LaVine aided the Timberwolves' effort with 20 points.

(3/12/2015) Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin scored a team-high 16 points on 5 of 8 shooting in his team's 106-97 loss to the Suns in Phoenix Wednesday.

Martin had an efficient shooting night but wasn't called upon much to carry the scoring load as the team spread looks and playing time around the offense. The starting guard also kicked in two rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes of action.

The Timberwolves have lost six of their last seven games going into Friday's matchup with the Thunder.

Martin has been dealing with an illness, which kept him out of Monday's game. Meanwhile, Pekovic is suffering from a sprained ankle, which also caused him to miss Monday's contest. Coach Flip Saunders said he is hoping to manage Pekovic's ankle by keeping him on a minutes restriction, reports the StarTribune.

The Timberwolves are 6 1/2-point favorites.

Pekovic is dealing with an ankle injury he suffered in Saturday's game and was considered questionable for Monday. Pekovic is averaging 13.2 points and 7.8 rebounds in 27 games this season. Martin, who is averaging 20.5 points and 2.1 assists in 23 games, is dealing with an illness.

The Timberwolves are currently 5-point underdogs against the Clippers.

It was Martin's sixth straight game with at least 20 points, but he had his most efficient shooting performance since returning from a 34-game injury absence. He also chipped in two rebounds, two steals and one assist in 31 minutes. The Timberwolves will head to Chicago to face the Bulls Friday.

Martin, who struggled from 3-point range, going 1 of 6, also grabbed six rebounds and dished out two assists in the victory. In his last six games, Martin has failed to reach at least 20 points only once. He is averaging 21.0 points in seven games this month.


Report: Timberwolves not expected to buy out Kevin Martin's deal

(2/18/2015) There is "no way" the Timberwolves buy out guard Kevin Martin's contract, reports USA Today's Sam Amick.

The primary reason Amick lists is that coach Flip Saunders thinks highly of Martin as a player. Martin is averaging 20.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Any potential buyout would happen after Thursday's trade deadline.

Martin signed a four-year, $27.755 million deal with the Timberwolves in 2013.

Amick also reports that the Rockets, Bulls, Wizards, Mavericks and Kings all have interest to some degree in Martin. However, a trade is unlikely to happen.


Martin, Bass, Bargnani expected to be bought out, if not traded

(2/18/2015) If their teams cannot find a trade partner, Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin, Celtics forward Brandon Bass and Knicks center Andrea Bargnani are all expected to be bought out of their contracts, sources told CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger.

The buyout woulds occur after Thursday's trade deadline passed. Trades for the three veterans are unlikely to occur.

Martin has now scored over 20 points in three of his last seven games since returning from injury. He and the Timberwolves will look to keep rolling Monday against the Hawks.

Martin added he's hopeful to play Wednesday against the Celtics. He has been sidelined since late November.

“It feels better now than it did when I started practicing two weeks ago,” Martin said. “Getting it drained helps a lot.

“It was a good day. That’s one thing I can do is shoot. I’ll give it one more hard day of practice and see how I feel.”
