Martin and Rubio are expected to be for quite some time with their injuries. Williams has missed the past five games due to a back injury.

(11/26/2014) The injury-plagued Timberwolves could be without four key players when they host Milwaukee on Wednesday, including shooting guard Kevin Martin and point guard Ricky Rubio, who will be out for a while.

The more immediate issues revolve around center Nikola Pekovic, who is dealing with wrist and foot injuries. Fellow center Ronny Turiaf has also been ruled out with a hip issue. Guard Mo Williams could also be sidelined with an illness.

Martin has been out since Wednesday when he suffered the injury against the Knicks. Martin is averaging 20.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Martin will have a screw placed in his wrist in order to help him return sooner. It's believed he'll miss at least six weeks following the surgery. Martin was averaging 20.4 points per game.

(11/24/2014) Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders told reporters Monday that guard Kevin Martin will visit a specialist on Monday to determine if he'll require surgery on his broken wrist, the Star Tribune reports.

Martin scored 71 points in the previous two games played before sustaining the injury. He averaged 20.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists through nine games.

(11/21/2014) Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders said Friday that it'll be a couple of days before it's determined whether guard Kevin Martin will need to undergo surgery on his broken wrist, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The team won't be able to tell if the wrist is displaced for a few days, and they'll make a decision on surgery once that is known. After scoring 71 points in his last two games, Martin is out indefinitely with the injury.

The fracture occurred during the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Knicks. Despite suffering the injury early in the game, Martin still managed to score 37 points. Through nine games, Martin is averaging 20.4 points and 3.7 rebounds.

Martin shot 14-20 from the field, including seven of 11 from downtown. He also added two free throws. Martin also pulled down four rebounds and dished out two assists.

(11/15/2014) Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin scored a season-high 34 points on 12 of 17 shooting, including 4 of 6 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 131-117 loss to the Mavericks Saturday.

It's just the third time in his career Martin has shot 70 percent or better on at least 15 field-goal attempts and the first time since January 2011 that he's accomplished the feat. He was also excellent as usual from the charity stripe, making all six of his free throws, while kicking in three rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes. Unfortunately, his team was unable to get the result it wanted. The Timberwolves will look to end a five-game losing streak Wednesday against the Knicks.

(11/7/2014) Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin scored a team-high 21 points Friday but shot just 35 percent from the field, making 7 of his 20 shots as well as just 3 of his 11 three-point attempts in his team's 112-103 overtime loss to the Magic.

Martin played a season-high 42 minutes in the overtime loss and shot the ball 20 times for the second straight game but posted his lowest scoring total since playing 20 minutes in his season debut. He also recorded five assists and two rebounds in the game. Martin will look to improve his accuracy in Saturday's matchup with the Heat.

(11/3/2014) Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin was fined $15,000 by the NBA for making an "obscene gesture" after knocking down a 3-pointers in the fourth quarter of Saturday's defeat to the Bulls, according to the Associated Press on Monday. After knocking down the shot that gave his team a two-point advantage, Martin cupped his hands and held them below his waist in a provocative manner.

Martin told reporters during Monday's practice that he takes full responsibility for his action that lead to his fine.

"I won't do that again," he added.

(11/1/2014) Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin went off, registering his first 30-point game of the season and nearly drained a game-winning 3-pointer with seconds remaining Saturday night against the Bulls.

Martin knocked down a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining to give his team a one-point advantage, but on the other end Jimmy Butler drew a last-second foul on rookie Andrew Wiggins to defeat the Timberwolves.

Martin finished the game with a game-high 33 points on 9 of 14 shooting from the field, including 4 of 6 from behind the arc, and a perfect 11 of 11 from the charity stripe. He added seven rebounds and two assists while logging 36 minutes of game action in a 106-105 defeat.
