News: CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger reports that the Suns are finalizing a deal to trade guard Sebastian Telfair to the Raptors for Hamed Haddadi. In addition to Haddadi, Phoenix also gets a second-round draft pick from Toronto for Telfair. Telfair is on the books for just over $1.56 million and Haddadi for $1.3 with a non-guaranteed season next year. Moving Telfair makes room for Kendall Marshall in the rotation for the rebuilding Suns while clearing a little bit of money. Telfair gives the Raptors another guard after they traded Jose Calderon in the Rudy Gay deal earlier this month. Telfair will compete for time with John Lucas III in Toronto. He averaged 6.0 points and 2.5 assists for the Suns this season.
Analysis: Telfair has minimal Fantasy value even following this move, as he will likely be just the third point guard on the roster. He is not worth using in the majority of leagues.
News: With free agency on the way and a diminishing role, the Suns have begun to shop guard Sebastian Telfair, ESPN.com reported Tuesday. Telfair, who has appeared in just two of eight games in the month of February, is expected to be moved by Thursdays deadline, as the team hopes to give promising rookie Kendall Marshall more consistent playing time.
Analysis: Earlier in the season, it looked like Telfair was settling nicely into his role as the teams primary backup, but his playing time has fallen off since the start of January. He averaged just 5.4 points in 15.1 minutes per game in the month of January. Telfair has a chance to catch on somewhere else with a larger role, but he is unlikely to make much of a difference. Continue to consider him just a low-end Fantasy option in all formats.
News: Phoenix guard Sebastian Telfair is being shopped by the Suns on the trade market, reports Yahoo! Sports Sunday. Phoenix apparently wants a second-round pick in exchange for Telfair's services.
Analysis: The Suns may want to trade Telfair, but we doubt there are many suitors out there for the 27-year-old guard. He has not played in five of the last seven games for Phoenix and has low-end Fantasy value across the board.
News: Suns guard Sebastian Telfair scored in double figures for the second consecutive game on Monday night against the Thunder. He finished with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting in the 102-90 loss. He also went 4 for 6 from beyond the arc while playing 20 minutes off the bench. Telfair posted three assists and two rebounds while turning the ball over once in the defeat.
Analysis: Telfair is shooting 56 percent from downtown in his last five games and is averaging 7.8 points with 2.4 assists during that stretch. He continues to see decent playing time behind Goran Dragic in Phoenix but his inconsistencies hinder his appeal in Fantasy. Leave Telfair on waivers in all but the deepest of formats at this point.
News: Suns guard Sebastian Telfair left the previous contest due to a sore left knee but showed no signs of the injury Friday against the Jazz. He scored 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting in the 87-80 loss. He went 2 for 4 from beyond the arc while playing 13 minutes off the bench. Telfair also posted two assists and a block in the defeat.
Analysis: Telfair continues to serve as the backup to Goran Dragic and produced his eighth double-digit scoring performance Friday. Fantasy owners should continue to consider him a low-end option in deeper formats as he's mainly a handcuff for Dragic.
News: Suns guard Sebastian Telfair (knee) participated in the morning shootaround and is expected to suit up for Friday's game against Utah, the Arizona Republic reports. Telfair left during the first half of last Wednesday's game against Philadelphia with a sore left knee.
Analysis: Telfair is expected to expected to assume his regular spot in the Suns rotation as he has averaged 18.5 minutes per game this season. The 27-year-old continues to serve as the backup to Goran Dragic and has produced double-digits in points only seven times for an average of 6.2 points per game. Fantasy owners should continue to consider him a low-end option in deeper formats as he's mainly a handcuff for Dragic.
News: Phoenix guard Sebastian Telfair left Wednesday's game against Philadelphia due to a sore left knee, reports the Arizona Republic. The severity to Telfair's injury is not yet known. He is loosely considered day to day. Telfair saw seven minutes Wednesday before going down. He was 0 for 1 from the field with a rebound and an assist.
Analysis: Telfair has failed to score twice in his last three games and is averaging just 6.4 points per game on the year to go with 2.8 assists. Telfair is not a consistent member of the rotation in Phoenix and has low-end Fantasy value, when healthy.
News:Sebastian Telfair started at point guard for the Suns on Friday against the Pacers with Goran Dragic out. He had a productive game as he led his team in scoring with a season-high 19 points and dished out six assists in the 97-91 loss. He went 8 for 20 from the floor, including 1 for 6 from downtown, and converted both of his free throws. Telfair, who played 41 minutes, also chipped in with a rebound and a steal while turning the ball over twice in the defeat.
Analysis: Telfair has scored in double figures in two straight and should continue to start as long as Dragic is out. Keep an eye on the situation going forward. Telfair has never quite lived up to expectations since being taken No. 13 overall in the 2004 draft but might be worth a look in deeper Fantasy formats while he's seeing some run.
News: Phoenix guard Sebastian Telfair left the team to attend to a personal matter and will miss Tuesday's game at Memphis, the Arizona Republic reports. Telfair, who is averaging 6.1 points per game, is expected to rejoin the team prior to Thursday's contest against Dallas.
Analysis: Aside from receiving additional minutes at the end of Sunday's blowout loss to New York, Telfair hasn't seen much playing time this season and is averaging just 17.6 minutes per game off the bench. The 27-year-old, who has played with six different teams during his career, has recorded double-digits in scoring just four times this season. He should continue to be ignored in most Fantasy formats even when he does return.
News: Suns guard Sebastian Telfair had another decent performance off the bench during Sunday's contest against the Knicks. Telfair drilled two 3-pointers and scored 11 points in a 106-99 defeat. He went 4 of 7 shooting from the field, including 2 of 3 from downtown, and 1 of 2 from the charity stripe. He also chipped in with three rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes on the floor.
Analysis: Telfair got to see the floor once the game was out of hand and scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter. He has scored in double figures just four times this season and is averaging 5.8 points and 2.6 assists per game this season. At this point, however, Telfair still should be considered just a low-end Fantasy reserve in all formats heading into Week 6 (Dec. 3-9).
News: Suns guard Sebastian Telfair did a solid job for Phoenix Wednesday against the Bulls, scoring 17 points off the bench in 25 minutes. Telfair spent much of the teams crunch-time minutes on the floor with starting point guard Goran Dragic, and the team enjoyed some success in that configuration. Telfair had his best game of the season, shooting 5 of 13 from the field and 4 of 8 from three-point range, while also connecting on all three of his free-throw attempts. He added four assists, a block and two rebounds in the game.
Analysis: Telfair has actually been plaing pretty well over the last five games, averaging 8.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, while turning the ball over just twice. The Suns seem to like that two point-guard lineup, so we will see if they continue to turn to it. At this point, however, Telfair still should be considered just a low-end Fantasy reserve in all formats.
News: Suns guard Sebastian Telfair was once again not much of a factor during Phoenix's contest against the Heat Monday night. Telfair, who has been serving as Goran Dragic's backup, finished with four points on 1 for 3 shooting in the 124-99 defeat. He also added one assist, one rebound and one steal to his stat line, while logging 16 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Telfair was able to beat out rookie Kendall Marshall for the team's backup point guard spot, but hasn't seen much run over the first four games. In fact, the 16 minutes he logged Monday night were a season high for the 27-year-old, who is averaging just 3.3 points and 0.5 assists thus far. Unless he sees a serious increase in minutes and production, Telfair should remain on the waiver wire in the majority of formats at this point in the year.
News: Suns guard Sebastian Telfair has returned from a sprained ankle and is 100 percent healthy at this time, reports the Arizona Republic.
Analysis: Telfair is nothing more than a backup for the Suns behind Goran Dragic and Kendall Marshall. He has almost zero Fantasy value entering the season.
News: Suns guard Sebastian Telfair remains stuck to the bench, and he hasnt done much to earn an increase in playing time recently, as he scored just two points in 12 minutes on Friday against the Lakers. He did have three assists with no turnovers, but he made just 1 of 2 shots in a 111-99 loss to the Lakers.
Analysis: Telfair has really only seen significant playing time on the rare occasions when Steve Nash has been unable to go, and otherwise receives just around the 12.5 minutes per game he has been averaging on the season. Telfair is struggling mightily with his shot, hitting just 31.0 percent of his attempts on the season and has not given the team much of a reason to get him on the floor more. At this point, he is not worth owning in any Fantasy league.
News: Suns G Sebastian Telfair got the start with Steve Nash (thigh) out on Monday night against the Mavericks and had a productive performance. He posted season highs with 13 points and six assists in the 122-99 loss. He went 5 for 12 from the floor, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc while playing 23 minutes. Telfair also chipped in with a steal and a rebound in the defeat.
Analysis: Telfair has scored in double figures two times in his last three games and could continue to start as long as Nash is out. Owners should keep an eye on Nash's status before scooping him up off waivers, however. While the 26-year-old should continue to get run in blowouts, his production is still too consistent to consider a viable option in many Fantasy formats at this point.
News: Suns G Sebastian Telfair was ejected from Friday night's contest Trail Blazers after picking up his second technical foul of the 103-76 defeat. Telfair was tossed after arguing a non-foul call late in the fourth quarter. He finished with 10 points, three rebounds and one assist prior to leaving the contest.
Analysis: Telfair got a little upset on Friday night and ultimately got himself kicked out of the game. The 26-year-old has had some trouble fitting in with the Suns and is averaging just 4.3 points and 1.0 rebound on the year. Unless he sees a major increase in production and minutes moving forward, owners should continue to ignore Telfair in all formats moving forward.
News: Suns G Sebastian Telfair saw some minutes during mop-up time on Wednesday night against the 76ers and was able to do some scoring. He dropped seven points in six minutes during the 103-83 loss. He went 2 for 3 from the field and made 3 of 4 free throws. Telfair also recorded one rebound, one assist and a steal in the victory.
Analysis: Telfair is not expected to see a ton of playing time behind Steve Nash and Ronnie Price this season so continue to ignore him in the majority of Fantasy formats at this point.
News: Free agent G Sebastian Telfair has reportedly agree to terms to join the Phoenix Suns, with an opportunity to back up Steve Nash in the Suns high-powered offense, according to The Arizona Republic. The deal, which cannot be made official until 2 p.m. on Friday, would make Phoenix the former first rounders seventh NBA team in eight seasons. Telfair averaged 7.2 points and three assists per game last season with Minnesota.
Analysis: With Aaron Brooks unable to get out of his contract with his Chinese team, the Suns were looking for a cheap option at point guard to back up Nash. The Suns offensive system has a way of inflating players offensive production, as they play with the seventh fastest pace in the NBA. This could be a positive for Telfairs Fantasy value, but it was so low prior that its unlikely he will be worth selecting on Draft Day.
News: Timberwolves guard Sebastian Telfai, who missed the previous contest while dealing with a personal issue, was back with the team and on the bench during Tuesday's 107-105 loss to the Nets. However, Telfair did not play in the contest and was listed as DNP-coach's decision on the stat sheet.
Analysis: Telfair is back with the team but remains unable to get himself back on the court. The 25-year-old has only appeared in one game since the beginning of March and has clearly fallen out of favor with coach Kurt Rambis. Fantasy owners in all formats should continue to ignore Telfair in all formats for the remainder of the season.
News: Timberwolves guard Sebastian Telfair, who missed Sunday's game against the Grizzlies because of a personal issue, was not at practice Monday, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. However, Telfair is expected to meet the team in New Jersey and he should be available to play in Tuesday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: It was first reported that Telfair missed Saturday's game against the Grizzlies because of an illness, but apparently it was because of a personal reason. Still, it doesn't really matter at this point anyway since Telfair has clearly fallen out of favor with coach Kurt Rambis. The 25-year-old has only appeared in one game since the beginning of March and therefore can continue to be ignored in all Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Minnesota guard Sebastian Telfair was not available for Saturday's game against the Grizzlies because of the flu. Telfair did not travel with the team to Memphis and is being considered day to day at this point.
Analysis: Telfair only appeared in one game during March and has clearly fallen out of favor with coach Kurt Rambis. Unless he somehow finds himself back in the rotation over the last few games, Fantasy owners should continue to ignore him in all formats moving forward.
News: Minnesota guard Sebastian Telfair was active for Friday's 111-100 loss to the Sixers. Telfair missed team shootaround Friday morning with an illness, but was available to play. He hasn't played since Feb. 23 against Memphis.
Analysis: Telfair has not played in five straight games and seems to have lost his spot in the rotation to Luke Ridnour and Jonny Flynn. The 25-year-old is averaging 7.4 points and 3.1 assists in 36 games this season. Unless he sees an increase in minutes and production, Telfair can be ignored in most formats.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Wolves guard Sebastian Telfair isn't feeling well Friday morning and didn't participate in shootaround. He will be listed as questionable for Friday night's game at Philadelphia.
Analysis: Telfair has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Keep an eye on his status, but he's not worth using in the majority of leagues even when active.
News: With Michael Beasley (ankle) out for the second half of Friday's game against the Raptors, Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair helped to pick up the scoring slack. He scored 16 points on 5 of 11 shooting off of the bench, including 3 of 6 shooting from beyond the arc. Telfair added two rebounds, but turned the ball over three times in 22 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Telfair has now played 22 minutes in each of the last two games with Luke Ridnour (personal reasons) out of the lineup. The 16 point-effort Friday was the most he's scored since mid-November, and just two points off of his season high. Still, Ridnour should be back fairly soon, and he will again occupy most of the ball-handling duties along with Jonny Flynn. In the mean time, Telfair should only be used in Fantasy play if Ridnour is not suited up.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair was cleared to play on Sunday against the Cavaliers, but did not play. He continues to deal with the lingering effects of plantar fasciitis.
Analysis: Telfair has been looking at only limited playing time even while healthy. He played just three minues in his last appearance at the Clippers and remains a player to avoid in Fantasy -- healthy or not.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair was inactive Wednesday against Utah with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. He has played just three minutes in the team's last five games and is clearly struggling with the injury. He's out indefinitely at the moment.
Analysis: Telfair's foot issues have plagued him for much of the season. He's played in 25 games but is getting just 21 minutes per night. His stats aren't all that great, when healthy, but he's got to get healthy again first. For now, he should be avoided in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Minnesota guard Sebastian Telfair scored 10 points and handed out seven assists as the Timberwolves routed the Cavaliers on Saturday night. Telfair played off the bench and finished with 26 minutes, the highest total in his last six games. The guard took only five shots in the game but connected on three, including 1 of 2 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Telfair seems to have overcome the plantar fasciitis that was slowing him down recently. He didn't miss any games with the slight injury but his minutes were slumping toward the end of last month and into the first two games of December. He won't get many scoring opportunities -- his average is under eight points a game this season -- and his marginal Fantasy value should be left for category-based leagues.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair has been dealing with plantar fasciitis recently, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, but he hopes extra treatment will take care of the problem. "Hopefully I could get back close to 100 percent soon," he said.
Analysis: Telfair has yet to miss a game because of the injury, but he has ceded the starting job back to Luke Ridnour. He stands to lose playing time when Jonny Flynn returns from a hip injury, which is good news for his plantar fasciitis but bad news for his Fantasy value. If you've been relying on him for cheap steals, you should look into other options.
News: Minnesota guards Luke Ridnour and Sebastian Telfair traded places on Wednesday as Ridnour went back to starting against San Antonio and Telfair went back to the bench. Neither player played well in the overtime loss, however. Ridnour played 41 minutes, his most in his last four games. That said, he scored in single digits for the first time over that span with just seven points on 2 of 12 shooting. He went 1 for 4 from long range and added five assists and three rebounds. Telfair only played 12 minutes off the bench and scored just three points with five assists on 1 of 3 shooting. His only score came on a 3-pointer.
Analysis: Telfair failed to score over 16 minutes in his previous game and is averaging just 5.8 points, 4.6 assists and a 3-pointer per contest over his last five. He's being limited right now and only has low-end Fantasy value. His value could drop even more once Jonny Flynn returns to action from injury.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair, who has started the last eight games with Luke Ridnour limited by a hamstring injury, will return to the bench Wednesday against the Spurs, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "He was part of why we started to play better," coach Kurt Rambis said. "I thought he did a great job for us. I was very pleased."
Analysis: Apparently not pleased enough to keep him there. Telfair averaged 9.1 points and 5.5 assists as a starter, so unless you were desperate for assists, you probably weren't using him in Fantasy. Still, he had more value in that role than he will coming off the bench. Ridnour has actually been healthy the last three games, but the Timberwolves preferred to keep him on the bench until now. They're unlikely to make another change at the position until Jonny Flynn returns from hip surgery, so you can leave Telfair for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair will remain the team's starter at point guard going into Fantasy Week 5 (Nov. 22-28). Luke Ridnour will come off the bench. Both players are playing an increased role while Jonny Flynn remains sidelined with a hip injury.
Analysis: Telfair is averaging 8.8 points and 5.8 assists over his last five games. Since Ridnour's return this past Wednesday, He has seen his playing time dip into the 25-minute range and has failed to crack double figures in scoring in each game. His assist numbers also took a hit. Despite Telfair being the starter, Ridnour appears to have slightly more upside in Fantasy. They will continue to split playing time just about down the middle and that limits both to being just Fantasy stopgap measures for deeper formats.
News: Timberwolves PG Luke Ridnour, who had missed the last five weeks with a hamstring injury, returned Wednesday against the Clippers. Sebastian Telfair remained the starter, but Ridnour outplayed him. The former Oregon star scored 12 points and dished out eight assists over 25 minutes. He shot 3 for 8 from the field and hit two 3-pointers. Ridnour also had three steals. Telfair shot just 2 for 8 and scored seven points with five assists.
Analysis: Ridnour began the season as the starter but was mediocre in the role. With Jonny Flynn on the verge of returning from knee surgery, neither Ridnour nor Telfair figures to be the starter for long. You can leave Telfair for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair will remain the starter Wednesday against the Clippers even though Luke Ridnour is returning from a hamstring injury. Telfair is averaging 11.6 points and 6.4 assists in five games as the starter.
Analysis: Telfair might not remain the starter for long with Jonny Flynn expected to return soon from hip surgery, but for now, he's a decent source of assists. You can get by with him as a low-end guard in Fantasy.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair remained in the starting lineup on Friday against the Knicks, still filling in for the injured Luke Ridnour. However, he had arguably his worst performance of the season, posting no points in 37 minutes. His only saving grace was eight assists. Telfair attempted just five shots, missing them all. He added one rebound, two assists and two blocked shots.
Analysis: Telfair had averaged 14.5 points in his first two starts at point guard, so he just had an off night against New York. Telfair is expected to make at least two more starts before Ridnour is re-evaluated on Tuesday. Consider Telfair a stopgap Fantasy option until Ridnour returns.
News: Filling in for injured guard Luke Ridnour on Tuesday night in Los Angeles, Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair played a solid game. Telfair, who got 39 minutes, scored 13 points on 3 of 7 shooting from 3-point range. He shot 5 of 12 overall and added nine assists with four turnovers. Telfair added five rebounds.
Analysis: Telfair could put together this type of production consistently for as long as Ridnour is out. Fantasy owners can expect a solid amount of assists and 3-pointers for as long as Ridnour is down so feel free to use Telfair in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: With PG Luke Ridnour expected to miss at least a week with a strained hamstring, Sebastian Telfair takes offer as the starting point guard in Minnesota, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Telfair is averaging 9.0 points and 3.1 assists this season.
Analysis: You could argue Telfair was playing better than Ridnour already, but if nothing else, his minutes will increase with this move. He deserves a flier in deeper leagues, but keep in mind Jonny Flynn could return from his hip injury soon, making Telfair's time as a starter short-lived.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair could see a nice boost in Fantasy value during Week 3 (Nov. 8-14) with Luke Ridnour dealing with an injury to his hamstring. Ridnour injured himself on Sunday against Houston and could miss a few games. That would boost Telfair's minutes, unless the Timberwolves decide to make a roster move.
Analysis: Right now Ridnour is just questionable for Tuesday's game in Los Angeles. That said, reports are that he could be out for an extended period of time. That would give more minutes to Telfair, as well as Maurice Ager and Wayne Ellington. Telfair is averaging 9.0 points, 3.1 assists and almost a 3-pointer per game over 21 minutes this season. We were going to recommend Ridnour's Fantasy usage for this week, but if there is still time, Telfair could be an easy fill-in.
News: Timberwolves guard Sebastian Telfair logged 16 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's season opener against the Kings. Telfair, who had a sore right shoulder at the end of the preseason, went 5 for 9 from the field -- 1 for 3 from behind the arc -- and nailed 4 of his 6 foul shots, finishing with 15 points. The six-year veteran also contributed two rebounds and six assists in Minnesota's 116-117 loss.
Analysis: Scoring almost a point per minute is pretty impressive for Telfair, who has had a rather disappointing NBA career thus far. With Jonny Flynn out for the initial portion of the season, Telfair climbs the depth chart to No. 2 at point guard for Minnesota, but that doesn't make him worth grabbing in most Fantasy formats. Deeper leagues that have room for Telfair could add him until Flynn returns, but really doesn't have much value in the long run.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune on Sunday that he would definitely play in Wednesday's regular season opener against the Kings. Telfair did not play in Friday's preseason finale against the Bucks because of a sore right shoulder.
Analysis: With Jonny Flynn out for the initial portion of the season, Telfair climbs the depth chart to No. 2 at point guard. That isn't enough of a boost to start him in most Fantasy leagues, however, so we recommend keeping him off most Fantasy rosters.
News: Minnesota PG Sebestian Telfair did not play in Friday's preseason finale against the Bucks because of a sore right shoulder. He is listed as day to day and should be ready to play in the season opener Wednesday against the Kings.
Analysis: Telfair has played well this preseason and could be in line for decent minutes as Luke Ridnour's backup with Jonny Flynn sidelined until at least November. However, based on his track record, Telfair is not a player worth selecting on Draft Day.
News: Minnesota G Sebastian Telfair had his strongest outing of the preseason in Tuesday's 128-124 loss to the Pacers. Telfair had 19 points while shooting 7 of 12 from the floor in 29 minutes off the bench. He also had six assists and added a steal in the defeat.
Analysis: Telfair averaged 4.8 points and 2.9 assists per game in his 43 games last year between the Cavs and Clippers. He will likely backup Luke Ridnour at point guard and could see some decent minutes in spurts. However, based on his track record, Telfair is a player that can be ignored on Draft Day.
News: The Cavaliers sent guards Sebastian Telfair and Delonte West to the Timberwolves for guard Ramon Sessions and forward/center Ryan Hollins. The T'wolves also say they will send the Cavs a future second-round pick. "With the arrivals of Luke Ridnour, Michael Beasley, Nikola Pekovic and the signing of Darko Milicic, it was clear that Ramon and Ryan would have lesser roles this season if they were to remain," Kahn said in a statement. "This move provides them a better opportunity in Cleveland and adds to our flexibility both this season and beyond in relation to the salary cap."
Analysis: Telfair averaged 4.8 points and 2.9 assists per game in his 43 games last year between the Cavs and Clippers. If he doesn't get traded or bought out -- which Minnesota is likely to do -- he'll have just a reserve role and won't be worth too much Fantasy attention heading into the 2010-11 season. If he is traded he may have marginal value, but we'll have to wait and see how things pan out.
News: Cavaliers guard Sebastian Telfair scored 21 points Friday against the Pacers in just his second game since suffering a groin injury in January. He played a season-high 30 minutes, shooting 8 of 14 from the field, 2 of 4 from downtown. He dished four assists and snatched three rebounds.
Analysis: Telfair could benefit from the Cavs resting key players during the stretch run. Without the likes of LeBron James, Antawn Jamison, Mo Williams and Daniel Gibson around, Telfair should see plenty of minutes and have the luxury of taking shots. He could be a pleasant surprise to Fantasy owners the rest of the way.
News: Cleveland G Sebastian Telfair had eight points on Thursday against the Bulls. It was his first appearance since the Cavaliers acquired him from the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team deal. Telfair had been sidelined since Jan. 20, when he injured his groin during a Clippers game against Chicago. He shot 4 of 7 from the field while adding three assists.
Analysis: Even with the Cavaliers resting some of their players, Telfair will likely see minimal minutes down the final stretch of the season. Avoid him in all formats at this point.
News: Cavaliers G Sebastian Telfair (groin) is expected to be activated for Thursday's game at Chicago, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He has not played since Jan. 20.
Analysis: Telfair will be added to the active roster with Delonte West and Daniel Gibson both ruled out due to injury. Consider how rusty he might be and the fact that the Cavaliers won't be giving him big minutes, he remains a player to avoid in Fantasy.
News: Cleveland G Sebastian Telfair has yet to see the court as a Cavalier because of a groin injury. He still might be weeks away from returning.
Analysis: Even when healthy, Telfair will see minimal minutes behind a solid Cleveland backcourt. He has no Fantasy value.
News: Cavaliers G Sebastian Telfair, acquired in the Antawn Jamison deal, didn't make the trip to Charlotte Friday. Coach Mike Brown said he's "weeks" away from returning from a groin injury.
Analysis: Even when healthy, Telfair will see minimal minutes behind a solid Cleveland backcourt. He has no Fantasy value.
News: Clippers PG Sebastian Telfair has been traded to Cleveland as part of a three-team deal. Joining Telfair on his way to the Cavaliers is PF Antawn Jamison. Washington receives C Zydrunas Ilgauskas and forward Al Thornton. The Clippers get forward Drew Gooden.
Analysis: Telfair hasn't played in 12 games due to a groin injury, an injury that could take as long as four-six weeks to heal, according to ESPN. However, he was averaging only 4.3 points and 2.9 assists on the season, and the Cavs already have plenty of depth at point guard with Mo Williams, Delonte West and Daniel Gibson. Telfair has no Fantasy value at this time.
News: Clippers PG Sebastian Telfair has a groin injury and could not play Sunday at Washington. Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said Telfair (ruptured groin) would be out four to six weeks after the game.
Analysis: The Brooklyn native has not scored in double figures since the end of November and doesn't get a whole lot of minutes for the Clippers. That isn't going to change in the near future, especially now that he's out until at least late February. Continue only using him in the deepest of Fantasy leagues, when he's healthy to return, that is.
News: Clippers G Sebastian Telfair did not play in Thursday night's game against Denver due to a strained groin he suffered Wednesday against the Bulls. During a pre-game news conference, Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said Telfair did not accompany the team to Denver and would be seeing a specialist on Friday for further evaluation.
Analysis: The Brooklyn native has not scored in double figures since the end of November and doesn't get a whole lot of minutes for the Clippers. That isn't going to change in the near future so continue only using him in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Clippers PG Sebastian Telfair was given 20 minutes of playing time in Friday's blowout loss to the Lakers. He scored five points on 2 of 4 shooting and committed five turnovers with just one rebound and one three-point make. It was his passing that set him apart, however. Telfair finished the game with 11 dimes, a new season high.
Analysis: The Brooklyn native has not scored in double figures since the end of November and doesn't get a whole lot of minutes for the Clippers. That isn't going to change in the near future so continue only using him in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Clippers point guard Sebastian Telfair was back on the court on Wednesday against the Hornets. He had missed two straight games with a groin injury.
Analysis: Telfair is averaging 4.6 points, 2.6 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game on the season with 15 minutes per night. He is not worth using in any Fantasy leagues at this point.
News: Clippers PG Sebastian Telfair missed his second straight game with a sore groin Tuesday at Memphis. He remains day to day.
Analysis: Telfair is a better source of assists than points, but he hasn't gotten the playing time to be a good source of either this season. If something happens to Baron Davis, you might want to give him a look, but otherwise, you can leave him on waivers.
News: Clippers backup G Sebastian Telfair was inactive Saturday with a sore groin.
Analysis: Telfair is a better source of assists than points, but he hasn't gotten the playing time to be a good source of either this season. You can leave him on waivers.

Analysis: Telfair is a better source of assists than points, but he hasn't gotten the playing time to be a good source of either this season. If something happens to Baron Davis, you might want to give him a look, but otherwise, you can leave him on waivers.
News: Clippers PG Sebastian Telfair had eight points and four assists in 22 minutes off the bench Thursday against the Hornets. He's averaging 3.8 assists per game despite playing only 18.5 minutes per game.
Analysis: If you need cheap assists and not much else, you might want to give Telfair a look in Fantasy. His numbers are pretty low all-around, though, so you should probably save him for deeper leagues.
News: Minnesota forward Mark Madsen was traded along with Sebastian Telfair and Craig Smith to the Los Angeles Clippers for Quentin Richardson. This is the third time Richardson has been traded this summer.
Analysis: Telfair averaged 9.8 points and 4.6 assists last season in the first year of a three-year extension. He will be a backup in Los Angeles, but could be a decent handcuff for Baron Davis owners considering the veteran's history of injuries.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair came off the bench for 27 minutes on Friday in a big win at Utah. Telfair played well as he scored 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting with two threes. He added seven assists, four rebounds and a block.
Analysis: Telfair and the T-Wolves played the role of spoilers on Friday and that could continue and give them a reason to play well the rest of the season. Telfair is averaging nine points, five dimes, a steal and a three per night over his last five games. He'll have some nice nights, and some mediocre ones, down the stretch and is well worth using in deeper Fantasy leagues as a stopgap option.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair had 10 points with six assists and two rebounds in Sunday's game against the Nets. It was his first game in double figures in four games.
Analysis: This was a pleasant turn of events for Telfair, who has not been a reliable Fantasy option this past week. He's been coming off the bench lately with the T'Wolves tweaking their rotation, but should still get around 25-30 minutes on most nights and can be viewed as a decent stopgap guard if needed.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair continues to play solid basketball since returning from a groin injury that sidelined him for two games. He has scored exactly 18 points in each of his three games since he returned to action.
Analysis: Minnesota can't seem to buy a win, but that's not hurting Telfair's Fantasy value as he has hit the ground running coming off of his injury. He is adding 4.7 assists a game in his three games since returning from the injury. However, he still only has low-end appeal.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair was able to play against the Lakers on Friday despite a sore groin muscle that had kept him out of action for two games.
Analysis: The former first round pick of the Blazers in 2004 has been only average with Minnesota this season, scoring 8.8 points per game and handing out 4.5 assists. He was in the team's starting lineup on Friday and should stay there the rest of the season. However, he only has low-end appeal.
News:Sebastian Telfair is planning on returning to the lineup of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The point guard missed the past two games because of a sore groin muscle, but he practiced fully Thursday and pronounced himself fit to return to the court Friday in Los Angeles to face the Lakers. The Timberwolves also face the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.
Analysis: Telfair has had some decent stat lines in 2008-09, but Telfair still isn't an overly reliable Fantasy option when healthy. He has low-end Fantasy appeal. Activate him only once he proves both healthy and productive again.
News: The Star Tribune reports that Minnesota guard Sebastian Telfair missed his second consecutive game because of a sore groin Tuesday night against Golden State. Coach Kevin McHale said he let Telfair practice at his own pace Monday and said Telfair might have overdid it because he reported for the morning shootaround with increased soreness. McHale said Telfair will rest until the injury improves. Expect veteran Kevin Ollie to start again at point guard.
Analysis: The Timberwolves seem to be taking a slow approach with Telfair, so it's best to keep him reserved in Fantasy until further notice. He has had some decent stat lines in 2008-09, but Telfair still isn't an overly reliable Fantasy option when healthy. He has low-end Fantasy appeal.
News: The Star Tribune reports Minnesota guard Sebastian Telfair (groin), who was held out of Sunday's loss to Houston, practiced Monday and is day-to-day heading into Tuesday's game against Golden State.
Analysis: It sounds like Telfair could play against the Warriors, but the safe bet in daily leagues is to keep him reserved. When healthy, Telfair is a No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Timberwolves point guard Sebastian Telfair missed Minnesota's game against Houston on Sunday night with a groin injury. Telfair told coach Kevin McHale at the morning shootaround that he wanted to play, but team trainers recommended he sit out to avoid turning the situation more serious.
Analysis: Telfair is averaging 8.8 points and 4.5 assists and had started the previous 24 games. He was hurt in a game against Portland on Friday night when he had two points on 0-for-5 shooting, two assists and three turnovers. He is now a risky play for Minnesota's upcoming three-game scoring period. When healthy, he is merely a low-end stopgap anyway.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair had 30 points and eight assists and he helped spoil Jermaine O'Neal's Miami debut on Wednesday night. Minnesota blew an 11-point lead with 10 minutes remaining, but recovered in time largely thanks to Telfair, who hit a 3-pointer with 1:26 left for a four-point lead -- and the Timberwolves held on to snap a five-game slide. Telfair finished with six threes but turned the ball over five times.
Analysis: Telfair is playing well of late and Wednesday was the cherry on top. He's averaging 16 points, six dimes and two threes per game and will continue to play a lot of minutes. He's definitely worth using in deeper leagues right now with climbing Fantasy value.
News: One game following a porous 0-for-9 shooting effort for zero points against Atlanta, Minnesota point guard Sabastian Telfair played a lot better on Saturday night. Playing at Houston, Telfair scored 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting with three threes. He added nine assists.
Analysis: Telfair is still not shooting well for Minnesota but his six assists per game over his last five and the fact that he's good for a three and a steal make him quite useful in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair was 0-for-9 from the floor in 23 minutes and failed to score on Wednesday in a loss to Atlanta. Telfair dished out three assists and turned the ball over three times.
Analysis: Telfair had an awful game for Minnesota after scoring in double figures in the previous three. He's shooting just 17 for his last 49 and added five assists and 1.2 steals. Right now, the way he's going, he's barely worth using in 12-team or deeper leagues.
News: Minnesota G Sebastian Teflair's availability was in question again after getting kneed in the thigh for a second straight game on Wednesday against the Pistons, but he had 10 points in 32 minutes in his regular starting role. He was 5-of-13 from the field, adding seven assists to his stat line.
Analysis: Telfair needs to try and keep that thigh out of harm's way. He is playing like a solid No. 2 or 3 guard right now but is only owned in 38-percent of leagues, so he may be a good add if you're in need of a guard.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair was healthy enough to play in Wednesday's game against Detroit. Telfair was on the court for 20 minutes and shot 4-of-6 for eight points. He added three dimes. After the game it was found out that Telfair was a bit limited by the injury.
Analysis: Telfair's thigh injury may have given him a bit of trouble but he played fairly well. He's scoring 10 points per game over his last five and that is above his season average. That comes with six dimes and 1.4 steals and makes Telfair a decent option as a No. 2 or 3 guard right now. Still, he may be forced to sit in the T-Wolves next game so stay tuned.
News: Timberwolves coach Kevin McHale said in the Pioneer Press he was hopeful point guard Sebastian Telfair would play Wednesday night against Detroit after suffering a bruised thigh muscle Monday.
Analysis: Telfair has developed into a decent Fantasy option in deeper leagues and is worth using if he's healthy. He is averaging 10.0 points and 7.2 assists over his last five games and is playing well enough to be used as a No. 2 or 3 guard right now.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Sebastian Telfair left Monday's game in Milwaukee with four minutes remaining after he got kneed and he limped out of Bradley Center, but he said his bruised thigh would be "fine."
Analysis: Fantasy owners should treat Telfair as day-to-day. He is averaging 10.0 points and 7.2 assists over his last five games and is playing well enough to be used as a No. 2 or 3 guard right now. It does not appear to be a serious injury.
News: Minnesota guard Sebastian Telfair is playing well recently. He has started each of the past seven games at point guard, and the Wolves are 5-2 in that stretch. In those seven games, Telfair is averaging 36 minutes, 11.6 points and 6.7 assists.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Telfair's play, but it appears like it's time to add him in most formats if he continues to play at this level. For now, consider Telfair a No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair scored 17 points for the second time in his last five games on Tuesday night in a loss at Utah. Telfair added nine assists and hit two threes.
Analysis: Telfair is averaging 12 points and seven assists over his last five games, which are both well above his season numbers. He's also become a nice source of threes for the T-Wolves and is playing 36 minutes per night. Consider adding him, especially in deeper leagues, off the waiver wire at this point.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair is becoming relevant in Fantasy with Kevin Ollie out for three weeks. Telfair is starting of late and scored 17 points with 11 assists over 41 minutes in a win over Milwaukee on Saturday night. Telfair was 5-of-11 and 2-of-5 from deep and added three rebounds with five turnovers.
Analysis: Telfair has played very well since joining the starting lineup and getting added minutes. He's scoring 11 points and adding seven assists per night over his last five games and those numbers should continue to rise as long as he stays around 30-40 minutes per night. Consider adding him, especially in deeper leagues, off the waiver wire at this point.
News: Minnesota PG Sebastian Telfair scored 14 points and added four boards and five assists in Tuesday's loss to the Mavericks. Telfair played 23 minutes off the bench and was 5-of-12 from the floor with a three. He added two steals.
Analysis: Telfair isn't a major part of Minnesota's offense and will have many games where he's largely invisible. Still, he's scoring 13 points per night over his last five games and picks up a good amount of steals. Use him in the deepest of leagues as a low-end Fantasy guard. He can be ignored in 10-team leagues.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair played 41 minutes off the bench in Friday's loss at New Jersey. He shot 4-for-10 from the field and finished with 12 points and thre assists. He had been held under 20 minutes in three of his previous four games.
Analysis: The Timberwolves have inserted Kevin Ollie into the starting lineup for his defense, but he has not been getting a ton of minutes. Telfair benefited from that in Friday's game. Still, Telfair's role remains too inconsistent to rely on him in Fantasy. Keep him stashed in larger leagues.
News: Minnesota starting PG Sebastian Telfair scored two points in 14 minutes on Saturday night. Telfair collided with Steve Blake in the third quarter and came up spitting up blood. He returned in the fourth. Telfair added one rebound and an assist.
Analysis: Telfair has been starting but playing sparingly as he's played 14 minutes in two straight games. He scored a total of two points in those games and isn't doing much else. He's not playing like someone worth using in Fantasy at the moment and since the Wolves play three times in Week 4 and have poor matchups, you can sit him across the board next week.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair, who missed the team's first three games because of a suspension, made his debut Wednesday against the Spurs and played 30 minutes before fouling out. He finished with eight points, 10 assists, three rebounds and one steal.
Analysis: Telfair is now clearly the backup to Randy Foye, meaning his numbers likely won't look as good as last year, when he got to start for a short period. Still, he showed he has the ability to make an impact off the bench, playing significant minutes and collecting nearly a double-double, so treat him as a decent low-end Fantasy guard.
News: A reminder to Fantasy owners setting their lineups for Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 1) of the Fantasy season: Sebastian Telfair will not be available as he will be serving a three-game suspension for pleading guilty to criminal possession of a weapon.
Analysis: Randy Foye was injured for much of last year, pushing Telfair into the starter's role after he was acquired from Boston in the trade for Kevin Garnett. He averaged 9.3 points and 5.9 assists and emerged as a capable game manager for the young team. Telfair had himself a decent month of December, when he was promoted to a starting role. He averaged 10.6 points and 6.9 assists, which could be the ceiling he is looking at despite all the hype he received coming into the NBA. Keep him reserved in all leagues until further notice.
News: Minnesota Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair has been suspended three games for pleading guilty to criminal possession of a weapon. Telfair was sentenced last month to three years probation. He was arrested in April 2007 when police found him carrying a loaded gun in his car while he was a member of the Boston Celtics. The Celtics traded him to Minnesota in the deal for Kevin Garnett, and Telfair had a solid and incident-free first season in Minnesota. He signed a three-year, $7.5 million deal this summer to remain with the Timberwolves. He is the top backup to starter Randy Foye. Telfair will miss home games against Sacramento and Dallas and a road game at Oklahoma City. His first game back will be Nov. 5 against San Antonio.

News:Sebastian Telfair will return for a second season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Telfair's agent said Monday the point guard has agreed to terms with the Wolves. The move fills a big void for the Wolves, who have only one other point guard on the roster in Randy Foye.
Analysis: Foye was injured for much of last year, pushing Telfair into the starter's role after he was acquired from Boston in the trade for Kevin Garnett. He averaged 9.3 points and 5.9 assists and emerged as a capable game manager for the young team. Telfair had himself a decent month of December, when he was promoted to a starting role. News: The Minnesota Timberwolves chose to let Sebastian Telfair and Kirk Snyder become unrestricted free agents on Monday. The Timberwolves did not extend a qualifying offer to Telfair because they would have had to pay the point guard $3.5 million next season. The team still wants to get a deal done with Telfair, who is entering his fifth season and played well when Randy Foye missed most of the first half of the season with a knee injury.
Analysis: Telfair averaged 9.3 points, a career-high 5.9 assists and 1.8 turnovers last season and was the only other point guard on the roster behind Foye after the Wolves traded the draft rights to O.J. Mayo and Marko Jaric to Memphis on Thursday as part of a deal that landed them Kevin Love and Mike Miller. Telfair had himself a decent month of December, when he was promoted to a starting role. He averaged 10.6 points and 6.9 assists, which could be the ceiling he is looking at despite all the hype he received coming into the NBA.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair (ankle) missed the final 21 games of the regular season, but is expected to be fully healthy for the start of training camp.
Analysis: Telfair had himself a decent month of December, when he was promoted to a starting role. He averaged 10.6 points and 6.9 assists, which could be the ceiling he is looking at despite all the hype he received coming into the NBA. In Minnesota, Randy Foye will be the starting point guard when healthy, leaving Telfair to play a reduced role in 2008-09.
News: According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Sebastian Telfair is not with the team for the two-game road trip through Orlando and Memphis.
Analysis: Telfair has missed 18 straight games and at this point and it is really unlikely the team will make him play in the remaining two games after that. Fantasy owners have likely seen the last of Telfair this season.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair, who has been out for more than a month with a sprained left ankle, could play Friday at Orlando.
Analysis: Telfair was good for about nine points and six assists per game when healthy -- numbers that made him just a fringe Fantasy guard anyway. If he returns to Minnesota in 2008-09, he will likely be a low-end Fantasy guard on Draft Day.
News: Timberwolves coach Randy Wittman said he doesn't know if PG Sebastian Telfair (ankle) will return to action before the season ends. Telfair has missed the past 15 games since injuring his ankle.
Analysis: Telfair was good for about nine points and six assists per game when healthy -- numbers that made him just a fringe Fantasy guard anyway. Don't start him for the final scoring period.
News: Minnesota G Sebastian Telfair has not played since March 14 because of a sprained ankle and it's questionable whether he'll play again this season because the ankle remains sore, reports the Sports Xchange.
Analysis: It appears safe to release Telfair in all leagues. Even if he does return, he would have minimal Fantasy value.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair (sprained left ankle) missed his eighth straight game Saturday against the Knicks, but coach Randy Wittman said he's feeling better and should play again before the season's over.
Analysis: Before the season's over? That only sounds so promising. Keep Telfair reserved until further notice. When healthy, he can contribute decent assist totals, but isn't consistent enough to be more than a low-end Fantasy guard.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair missed his fifth straight game with a sprained left ankle Monday against the Clippers. Coach Randy Wittman hopes to have the guard back on the court next week. "We'll have some time to get him on the floor in practice and get him tested really good before we have to put him back out there."
Analysis: Keep Telfair reserved until further notice. When healthy, he can contribute decent assist totals, but isn't consistent enough to be more than a low-end Fantasy guard.
News: Wolves coach Randy Wittman said MRI results on PG Sebastian Telfair's left ankle showed only a sprain. A timetable for his return is still uncertain, though Wittman said at least seven to 10 days Monday. "It's going to be a little while," Wittman said.

News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair underwent a precautionary MRI on his sprained ankle Monday and it revealed nothing more than a sprain. Head coach Randy Wittman said the injury is probably going to keep him out "seven to ten days, probably".

News: Timberwolves starting point guard Sebastian Telfair arrived Saturday night at Staples Center on crutches, his promising contract season temporarily detoured by a swollen, sprained ankle sustained in Friday's victory over Sacramento, according to the Sports Xchange. Coach Randy Wittman said there's no telling when Telfair will be able to play again. "It'll be awhile," Wittman said. "Bassy, he's a tempo-changer with his ability to push the ball. We don't have anybody else who can really do that or who we can ask to do that. We'll be lacking that."
Analysis: Keep Telfair reserved in all leagues and hope he can return soon. He has played well this season and is worth using as a No. 4 Fantasy guard when healthy.

Analysis: Telfair has tailed off after a solid start this season. He should only be used in deeper formats at this time.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair had 9 assists in 29 minutes of action Sunday against Seattle. He scored just 2 points in 29 minutes of action.
Analysis: Telfair started once again, but was not a scoring option for the T'Wolves. He did, however, have his most active assists game in a while. He came into the game with just 9 assists total over his last two games. Such inconsistency makes him a tough sell for Fantasy.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair, despite starting alongside Randy Foye lately, has continued his fine play, scoring 10 points and dishing out seven assists Sunday against the Mavericks. He has now scored in double figures in four of his last five games.
Analysis: Telfair has averaged 13.0 points over that five-game span, which actually trumps his season average of 9.6. As long as he keeps producing, use him as a No. 4 guard in Fantasy.
News: Minnesota had a chance to win Thursday's game against the Spurs, but Sebastian Telfair's long jumper clanked around the rim and out as the buzzer sounded giving San Antonio a 100-99 win. "I ended up wide open and took the shot," Telfair said. Telfair still finished with 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting. He also had two rebounds and four assists.
Analysis: Telfair has scored in double figures for three of his last four games, but his scoring totals have dropped in February with the return of Randy Foye. He is averaging less than 9.0 points per game and has dropped to a No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair, thought to be holding off Randy Foye until he got back up to speed, started alongside him Tuesday against the 76ers. He finished with 10 points, four rebounds and four assists in 36 minutes.
Analysis: Foye actually bumped Marko Jaric from the starting lineup, not Telfair. As long as Telfair remains in the starting lineup, his 9.5 points and 6.0 assists make him a decent No. 4 Fantasy guard, but he could start to play second fiddle to Foye soon.
News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair had just 6 points with 5 assists Wednesday in a loss to the Lakers. He played 29 minutes and shot 2-for-6 from the field.
Analysis: Telfair saw Randy Foye have his best overall game since his return Wednesday, scoring 18 points off the bench. The more comfortable Foye gets, the more that will cut into Telfair's production from a Fantasy standpoint. His days as a useful option could be limited.
News:The Sports Xchange reports for the season's opening months, Wolves coach Randy Wittman implored Sebastian Telfair to play his position like a point guard, not a scorer hunting for his points. Looks like the enigmatic third-year guard is getting the message. In the last five games, Telfair has collected 37 assists and three turnovers.
Analysis: Telfair, who moved into the starting lineup because Randy Foye was injured for the season's first three months, also broke out of a shooting slump in Tuesday's loss at New Jersey, when he added to a seven-assist, one-turnover evening by making 8-of-17 shots for 24 points. (In his previous four games, he made seven of 29 shots, or 24.1 percent). "That's good," he said of his 37 assists and three turnovers. Telfair remains viable in Fantasy because of his six assists per game, but his normally low scoring obviously hurts his value, and Foye -- the projected starter going into this season -- looms on the bench. Telfair might lose all of his Fantasy value soon, so be prepared.

Analysis: Telfair saw some of his minutes Friday go to Randy Foye, who recently made his season debut. Telfair's Fantasy value might continue to drop until Foye overtakes him in the lineup once and for all. For now, he remains a No. 4 Fantasy guard, but continue to track his progress.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair's run of scoring in double figures came to an end at seven games when he scored just nine points Tuesday against the Bulls. Telfair, who also had one rebound and four assists, had averaged 12.9 points during his streak.
Analysis: Telfair saw some of his minutes Tuesday go to Randy Foye, who made his season debut. It will be very interesting to see what happens to Telfair once Foye is back at 100 percent. It could signal the end of Telfair's run as a viable Fantasy option. For now, he remains a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy guard, but continue to track his progress.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair had 18 points, three rebounds and six assists Friday at Boston. He has scored in double figures in each of the last six games.
Analysis: Who knows what's gotten into Telfair lately, but Fantasy owners sure love it. He had scored in double figures in only one of his previous seven games before this stretch. As long as he can get 10 points per game, his assists make him worth starting in Fantasy. If this recent trend continues, grab him off waivers in your league.

News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair had six points, three rebounds and five assists Sunday against the Mavericks, giving him four straight games of single-digit scoring.
Analysis: Telfair has averaged 7.5 points over his last eight games. As the Timberwolves starting point guard, Telfair produces more like a Rafer Alston than a Raymond Felton, making him a No. 4 Fantasy guard at best. Randy Foye's return looms in the distance, though, so don't expect Telfair to keep his value for long.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair had 12 points and six assists Saturday at Seattle, but he has averaged only 9.3 points over his last four games.

News: Timberwolves G Sebastian Telfair, starting at the point with Marko Jaric sidelined, had 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 43 minutes at Memphis on Saturday. He shot 7-of-17 from the floor.
Analysis: Telfair will benefit from the increased passing opportunities with Jaric out, but he's still scored double-digit points in only five games this season, playing more or less starters minutes. He's nothing more than a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Wolves coach Randy Wittman started Marko Jaric at point guard in place of Sebastian Telfair on Saturday at Sacramento for the second consecutive game.
Analysis: The T'Wolves have liked the energy Telfair gave his team's second unit on Friday in Los Angeles, but he didn't do much on Saturday, finishing with four points on 1-for-8 shooting from the field. At this time, he's not a recommended Fantasy starter.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair started Friday's opener vs. Denver, finishing with nine points, five assists, two rebounds and three steals.
Analysis: With the loss of Randy Foye for several weeks, the Minnesota Timberwolves will go with a committee of Marko Jaric, Sebastian Telfair and Greg Bucker at the point guard position. On Friday, that committee was led by Telfair. He's worth a flier in deeper formats as a result.
News: With the loss of Randy Foye for several weeks, the Minnesota Timberwolves will go with a committee of Marko Jaric, Sebastian Telfair and Greg Bucker at the point guard position.
Analysis: Until one of these players emerges from the committee as a clear No. 1 -- which might not happen before Foye returns -- none are worth considering except in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair played well in his return to the lineup Friday against the Bucks after missing five games with a sprained left ankle. He came off the bench early when Randy Foye got into foul trouble and finished with seven points and six assists in 26 minutes.
Analysis: Telfair, a backup, only has Fantasy appeal in deeper leagues. He averaged 6.1 ppg, 1.4 rpg and 2.8 rpg last season and probably won't do much better this season.
News: Already without starting PG Randy Foye on Friday at Indiana, the Timberwolves didn't have backup Sebastian Telfair either. He sat out the game with an ankle injury.
Analysis: Don't worry about the ankle injury. Telfair should be fine to start the season. His Fantasy appeal's limited as a backup, though. Draft him only in deeper leagues.
News: Timberwolves PG Sebastian Telfair scored nine points off 3-for-7 shooting Wednesday vs. Boston in London, England. He added three assists and two rebounds.
Analysis: Telfair got the start Wednesday, but that doesn't figure to be the case during the regular season with Randy Foye around. Telfair's Fantasy appeal is limited as a backup.
News: The Celtics traded Sebastian Telfair to Minnesota as part of the deal to acquire Kevin Garnett. Telfair, 22, is a 6-foot point guard. The New York City schoolboy star and cousin of former Wolves guard Stephon Marbury averaged 6.1 points and 2.8 assists in 60 games last season. The Celtics removed his locker nameplate following the season after he was arrested in April on a gun possession charge.
Analysis: Telfair will look to revive his career in the same place Marbury got started. He will probably compete for the backup job behind Randy Foye with Troy Hudson. At this point and given his past, Telfair should not be drafted in any Fantasy leagues heading into 2007-08.
News: The Boston Celtics are severing ties with guard Sebastian Telfair days after he was arrested in the New York area and charged with carrying a loaded gun in his car. Team managing partner Wyc Grousbeck said Telfair, the 13th pick in the 2004 draft and coming off a disappointing first season with the Celtics, would not be back with the team. Telfair pleaded not guilty to a charge of felony second-degree possession of a weapon, and was released Friday on $7,500 bail. "The facts and circumstances of his case have not been determined, but he does not have a Celtics locker and we do not anticipate that he will," Grousbeck said in an e-mail Tuesday. He did not say how the team would handle the remaining season on Telfair's contract.
Analysis: The Celtics acquired Telfair from Portland last June 28 on the day of the NBA draft. As part of the five-player deal, Portland received Randy Foye of Villanova, whom the Celtics had taken with the No. 7 pick. Boston hoped Telfair would become its regular point guard, but he struggled and started just 30 of the 78 games he played. He averaged 20.2 minutes, 6.1 points and 2.8 assists per game. He has minimal Fantasy value right now but keep an eye out for where he ends up next year if a team decides to sign him.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair was arrested early Friday after police said a loaded handgun was found in his car when he was stopped for speeding on the Bronx River Parkway in Yonkers, N.Y., according to The Journal News.
Analysis: Telfair and a passenger in the car, Al Eden Fuentes, 28, of Queens, were both charged with second-degree possession of a weapon, a felony. Telfair was also hit with a misdemeanor charge of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and issued summonses accusing him of speeding and driving without a license, violations. It is unclear how this will affect his status for training camp this summer, but it likely won't. Fantasy GMs still have to consider Telfair a low-risk/high-reward player in drafts next season, but track this situation throughout the offseason.
News: Guard Sebastian Telfair sprained his left ankle Wednesday against Philadelphia, but he was able to play Friday. He had six points in 21 minutes.
Analysis: After falling all the way to third on the team's depth chart at the point guard position, he has plenty to prove now in the final games of the season.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair sprained his left ankle in the third quarter Wednesday and did not return to the game. He said he plans to play Friday against Milwaukee.

News: Guard Sebastian Telfair had five assists in 19 minutes off the bench Friday, but he missed all three of his shots.
Analysis: He has been a huge disappointment this season and has fallen down the depth chart. He has upside, but is best kept on the waiver wire or stashed away as a reserve.
News: Guard Sebastian Telfair and center Michael Olowokandi didn't get into the 58-minute game Sunday.
Analysis: Clearly, both players should be avoided in Fantasy play until they can get something going. Telfair is the only one of the two with any upside, but has found it hard to adjust to the NBA after coming out of high school two years ago.
News: Boston guard Sebastian Telfair got the main minutes at backup point Wednesday, with Rajon Rondo not good enough on offense against the Suns. Telfair finished with seven points and two assists in 23 minutes, while Rondo had no statistics in 11 minutes.
Analysis: Telfair and Rondo are stealing time from each other, which is bad for Fantasy owners. Right now, both players have minimal value. For the season, Telfair is averaging 7.4 points and 3.2 assists, while Rondo is averaging 5.3 points and 3.3 assists.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair is averaging just 7.4 ppg and 3.2 apg heading into the All-Star break.

News: Sebastian Telfair was a DNP for the first time this season on Wednesday vs. Los Angeles.
Analysis: He had been the only Celtic to play in all of the first 44 games, but was recently demoted to third on the team's depth chart at point guard. He is no longer a viable Fantasy option at this time.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair failed to record a statistic in four minutes Sunday against the Wizards.
Analysis: Telfair's numbers have gone way down since the team relegated him to third on the depth chart at point guard. Telfair is no longer a viable Fantasy option at this time.
News: According to the Boston Herald, Celtics G Sebastian Telfair is now third on the team's depth chart at the point guard position behind Delonte West and Rajon Rondo. "Oh, I’m overly pissed," Telfair said Sunday. But it's not Doc Rivers who's drawing Telfair's ire. "I'm pissed at myself," he said. "I can't be pissed at nobody else. Me being on the bench now, I can't possibly see it having to do with anybody besides myself."
Analysis: It's clear some of it has to do with Rondo, who's cut down on his poor defensive gambles while still maintaining aggressiveness at that end of the floor. Rondo's still yet to get his shot to go down on a regular basis, but at least he’s taking it when it's there to keep the defense honest. Telfair, meanwhile, has had flashes of brilliance running the club this season, but in the last two games off the bench he's produced four points and four assists in 18 minutes. On the defensive end, Telfair hasn’t looked into it. Reserve Telfair in all leagues until he can prove productive on a regular basis.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair scored 13 points Monday at Atlanta. He shot 4-for-10 from the field and added four assists.
Analysis: Telfair has started the last few games with Delonte West out with a back injury. West is due back within the next week and that could mean Telfair heads back to the bench. Keep an eye on the situation just in case Telfair remains in the starting lineup. If that happens, he can be used as a low-end Fantasy guard.

Analysis: Telfair has started the last two games with Delonte West out with a back injury. He has posted 29 points, six rebounds and 11 assists. West is due back within the next week and that could mean Telfair heads back to the bench. Keep an eye on the situation just in case Telfair remains in the starting lineup. If that happens, he can be used as a low-end Fantasy guard.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair was back in the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the Pacers with Delonte West out with a back injury. Telfair had 15 points, five rebounds and seven assists.
Analysis: Telfair has been a big letdown for Fantasy owners considering the phenom billing he's received since entering the NBA. He still has that talent, but will need to fine tune it to fit the NBA game. That seems to be taking longer than most people thought. Perhaps the chance to start while West is out indefinitely could provide Telfair with the spark to jump start his career. Consider him a low-end Fantasy guard until he starts producing on a more consistent basis.
News: According to the Boston Herald, Celtics head coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday that one reason why he replaced Sebastian Telfair in the starting lineup with Delonte West was size. "That's really helped," said Rivers. "Bassie [Telfair] and Rajon [Rondo] give us other things."
Analysis: Telfair has been a big letdown for Fantasy owners considering the phenom billing he's received since entering the NBA. He still has that talent, but will need to fine tune it to fit the NBA game. That seems to be taking longer than most people thought.
News: Boston guard Sebastian Telfair said he didn't feel extra pressure when he played his first game back in Portland on Monday -- even with his two points, three assists and three turnovers in 17 minutes. "I don't feel I have anything to prove to anybody over there, to tell you the truth," he said. "(But) I'm sure they're watching me and seeing what I can do."
Analysis: Telfair has been unreliable at this point and should be considered a No. 4 Fantasy guard unless his play improves.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair had five points, two rebounds and three assists in a loss to the Warriors on Friday.
Analysis: Telfair has been one of the season's biggest Fantasy disappointments and should not be starting in any format at this time. He is just too unreliable at this time.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair had gone scoreless in two of the previous three games, and he had all six of his points Friday in the final 1:27.
Analysis: The first season in Boston for Telfair has had its ups and downs, but mainly just downs. Consider him someone to own in keeper leagues and deeper formats as a stopgap option at this time.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair scored 13 points in Wednesday's loss vs. New Jersey. He also added five assists.
Analysis: Telfair is now averaging 10.9 ppg this season thanks to five double-digit outings in his last six games. Consider him a nice start now in leagues of 12-plus teams and a must-own in keeper leagues for his great upside.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair scored seven points off 3-for-10 shooting Wednesday at Charlotte. He also added seven assists, two steals, a rebound and a block.
Analysis: Telfair is not yet a reliable Fantasy option outside of larger leagues, but has tremendous upside. He's starting to put together some solid lines.
News: Former Blazer Sebastian Telfair had a fun time against his old team. The third-year point guard was 6-for-8 from the field, 1-of-1 from three-point range and 2-of-2 from the line, collected 15 points and seven assists and had only one turnover. He outplayed Jarrett Jack (eight points, eight assists, five turnovers), who succeeded him as Portland's starting point man.
Analysis: Telfair needed a breakout game like this to get rolling. He's not a reliable Fantasy option outside of larger leagues, but has tremendous upside.
News: Sebastian Telfair seems to be better after having to leave last Friday's game with breathing problems. But he admits now it was a frightening experience. "I was scared," Telfair said. "When the pain got to where I couldn't play any more, I was nervous. I didn't know what was going on. I thought I was having a heart attack for a moment. I was just nervous."
Analysis: Asked if the doctors had told him he was good to go, Telfair said, "I'm not going to put it like that. You shouldn't either. They did everything they could do for me. They didn't say there was nothing to worry about. I took a CAT scan and everything, and they didn't see anything that they could really point out and say what was wrong with me." It appears Telfair is strong enough to play and you can insert him back into your Fantasy rotation. We still love Telfair's upside and believe he will be able to flourish at some point down the line in Doc Rivers' system.
News: Celtics PG Sebastian Telfair started for the Celtics on Saturday against the Cavs. Telfair left Friday's game in the first quarter against Utah with shortness of breath. He was evaluated at a hospital and diagnosed with bronchospasm but was cleared to travel with the team.
Analysis: Telfair, who came in averaging 10.3 points and 2.8 rebounds, scored four points on 2-of-3 shooting on Friday before leaving the game. Analysis: Telfair, who came in averaging 10.3 points and 2.8 rebounds, scored four points on 2-of-3 shooting. Consider him questionable for Nov. 11 at Cleveland, but this injury could keep him out of the lineup for a few more games. It might be wise to remove Telfair from your lineup for the upcoming Fantasy period, shall he not play on Saturday. We still love Telfair's upside and believe he will be able to flourish at some point down the line in Doc Rivers' system. He's more of a long-term investment, though.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair scored just three points in 28 minutes Wednesday vs. Charlotte. He shot just 1-for-4 from the floor, adding three assists.
Analysis: We still love Telfair's upside and believe he will be able to flourish at some point down the line in Doc Rivers' system. He's more of a long-term investment, though.
News: Sebastian Telfair came through with 24 points and six assists Saturday against the Wizards, but he struggled badly in the first two games. "Well, he (didn't play) well the first two games, but he had a tremendous preseason and that gives us hope," Rivers said. "You can see the things that he can do, so I have a lot of confidence in him."
Analysis: We still love Telfair's upside and believe he will be able to flourish at some point down the line in Doc Rivers' system. He's more of a long-term investment, though, until he can start putting games like Saturday's together in a row.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair played for 34 minutes on Saturday and had 24 points in a loss to the Wizards. Telfair shot 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line. He also had four rebounds and six assists.
Analysis: Telfair made a tremendous improvement on Saturday from his previous two games where he only had five and nine points. These are the type of games Telfair is capable of, but he is too unpredictable to guess when he is going to play like this. He should be considered more of a long-term investment at the moment, but is worth owning in all leagues of 10-plus teams.
News: Celtics G Sebastian Telfair scored just five points with one assist and three rebounds in Wednesday's season-opening loss vs. the Hornets.
Analysis: Telfair did not have a great debut with his new squad, but should still manage decent numbers down the line this season. He should be considered more of a long-term investment at the moment, but is worth owning in all leagues of 10-plus teams.
News: The Celtics have spent the third week of the preseason talking about non-basketball matters in the wake of an incident involving Sebastian Telfair in New York Monday night. The point guard was robbed of a chain with an estimated value of $50,000 as he walked from a parking garage to a restaurant around 10 p.m. Later that evening, there was a shooting in the same area, and police questioned Telfair with the idea the two incidents were related. Telfair did not play in the second half of the game against the Knicks on Tuesday, leaving the arena to look at police lineups. "I cooperated with police and did what I had to do," Telfair said. "I still have my life, and I'm still playing basketball, and that's all I can ask for. I was the victim of a bad situation."
Analysis: Telfair is still slated to be the starting point guard on Nov. 1 when the Celts take on the Hornets. He reportedly tweaked his ankle in the game, but it shouldn't keep him out of any regular season action. We think he'll be able to improve upon his numbers from when he was with the Trailblazers. Look to him as a No. 4 guard to start the year.
News: Sebastian Telfair rolled his right ankle midway through the fourth quarter against the Celtics in a preseason game Tuesday.
Analysis: The injury doesn’t sound serious though. Telfair is expected to have a nice debut season with Boston, so consider him as a sleeper in the later rounds of your drafts.
News: Wally Szczerbiak led the Celtics in Friday's preseason game vs. Cleveland with 21 points, 13 in the first quarter. He finished 7-of-8 from the field with two 3-pointers and was 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Sebastian Telfair added 16 points for Boston, including a perfect 10-of-10 at the free throw line. Ryan Gomes had 12 points and three steals.
Analysis: Celtics star Paul Pierce finished with two points, leaving the game with 7 minutes to play in the third quarter with a bruised left hip. The crown jewel, in Fantasy terms, is expected to be just fine to start the season. Szczerbiak should average around 20 ppg this season and should be considered a must-start in any format entering the season. Ryan Gomes is one of our favorite sleeper picks of the season and Celtics have several young players worth taking fliers on in the late rounds. Continue to monitor them during the preseason.
News: Going into training camp, which starts Tuesday, the top 10 players in the Celtics' rotation appear to be forwards Paul Pierce, Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes and Gerald Green; guards Delonte West, Sebastian Telfair, Wally Szczerbiak and Tony Allen and centers Kendrick Perkins and Theo Ratliff. Rookie draft picks Rajon Rondo and Leon Powe could broaden that group. "Doc [Rivers] has some work cut out for him" in settling on a roster and rotation, general manager Danny Ainge said. "There's going to be some worthy players of playing time that aren't going to get playing time this year. ... I'm excited that we have those choices."
Analysis: With all that youth, the Celtics have plenty of trade material and Ainge said he always looks for ways to improve the team. Expectations should be higher for a team that is still young but has eight of its top 10 players entering their third NBA season. Fantasywise, the stud of the group continues to be Pierce. He warrants a first-round pick in any format. Down the line, Szczerbiak will serve as a nice No. 2 or 3 guard depending on the size of your league, Gomes has massive sleeper potential and Telfair should flourish at the point although it could take some time. Up front, Perkins and Ratliff should be targets in the later rounds. The Celtics may or may not make a playoff push this season, but they are full of good values for Fantasy owners on Draft Day.
News: Sebastian Telfair was traded to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday along with Theo Ratliff and a second-round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft for Dan Dickau, Raef LaFrentz and the No. 7 pick overall.
Analysis: Telfair has plenty of flash and talent, but he still has a lot to learn about the NBA game and taking care of the basketball. His Fantasy value is dictated by whether the Celtics are able to acquire Allen Iverson from Philadelphia in what has been a long-rumored offseason deal.
News: Sebastian Telfair had 15 of his 21 points in the second half Monday. But the second-year point guard, who came into the game with 28 assists and four turnovers in the previous eight games, turned the ball over five times in 27 minutes.
Analysis: Remember that Telfair, 20, still needs some seasoning. He'll be an NBA star. He's one of the best keeper options in the NBA.
News: After back-to-back 20-point games, Sebastian Telfair scored just 10 points on Monday. He's averaging 9.5 ppg during the month of March.
Analysis: Remember that Telfair, 20, could easily be playing in the NCAA Tournament instead of in the NBA. He still needs some seasoning, but he'll be an NBA star. He's one of the best keeper options in the NBA.
News: Juan Dixon (knee) missed his fourth straight game on Friday. He remains day-to-day. Martell Webster started in his place, but scored just two points off 1-for-7 shooting.
Analysis: While it was Martell Webster who started at guard for the Trail Blazers in Dixon's place, it was Sebastian Telfair, who scored 24 points in 27 minutes, who benefited the most from Dixon's absence on Friday.
News: Sebastian Telfair had 12 points and eight assists for Portland on Thursday vs. Dallas.
Analysis: As the Blazers inevitably look toward the future, developing their future stud will be a main priority. Look to add him him even in larger leagues as he'll see plenty of chances to contribute down the stretch.

Analysis: He'll be back for the upcoming scoring period.
News: How's this for irony? Friday was Sebastian Telfair replica jersey giveaway night in Portland. The second-year point guard was serving the first of a two-game suspension for carrying a loaded handgun on a team flight.
Analysis: Telfair's off the court woes won't help make up any ground in the NBA, but the rookie is still plenty talented enough to become a Fantasy asset in the future. He is still at least a year away from contributing regularly in Fantasy leagues, making him an option mainly in deep keeper leagues.

The handgun was found in a pillowcase belonging to Telfair as the team plane was being prepared for a flight from Boston to Toronto, the team said in a statement. Telfair explained to local authorities that the gun belonged to his girlfriend and that he had inadvertently grabbed the wrong bag when leaving for the team's road trip. "We did sweep the plane and we did find the handgun, and it was a loaded handgun," said Jennifer Peppin, a regional spokeswoman based in Seattle for the Transportation Security Administration. "Once we got that we turned it over to the state police in Boston."

Analysis: Telfair is still at least a year away from contributing regularly in Fantasy leagues, making him an option mainly in deep keeper leagues.
News: Blazers coach Nate McMillan cut short practice Thursday because of reported scuffle between Juan Dixon and fellow point guard Sebastian Telfair. McMillan said after the practice session that he was not in a good mood, but refused to elaborate. After Friday's game he had no comment. The Blazers were not expected to take disciplinary action. Dixon was sporting a scratch on his face, but it was not known if it was from any altercation. He said: "Sebastian and I are fine. It's nothing. Both of us are out there competing and both of us want to win."
Analysis: Telfair has basically lost any Fantasy value he had earlier in the season. He remains a great player to target in keeper leagues, though.
News: Sebastian Telfair scored 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting with four dimes on Friday vs. Orlando.

News: According to the Oregonian, Sebastian Telfair (finger) said Tuesday that his targeted date to return to action has been pushed to Jan. 3.
Analysis: Even when healthy, Telfair is no more than a long-term keeper prospect at the moment. His return would cut into the Fantasy value of Steve Blake and Jarrett Jack, however. Blake will continue to start in his absence and he's averaged 10.7 ppg and 5.6 apg as a starter. Pick him up if he's still available.
News: According to the The Oregonian, Sebastian Telfair proclaimed that he will be back in uniform for Wednesday night's game vs. Philadelphia. He's missed the last six games with a sprained right thumb.

Analysis: His Fantasy value is droppinng more and more everyday.
News: Portland point guard Sebastian Telfair will miss four-to-six weeks with a thumb injury.
Analysis: He was basically the most inconsistent player in the league, so at least owners won't be tempted to start him for a while. Steve Blake will start in his place and should be a very good free-agent pickup. Telfair will be back eventually, so reserve him as opposed to dropping him.

News: Sebastian Telfair scored 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting with six rebounds, seven dimes, three 3s and three steals Sunday in New York.
Analysis: Wow. Telfair has four games in the upcoming scoring period, so the red-hot guard is a worthy starter in leagues of 10 or more teams for Week 4. While his upside is enormous, don't expect him to be very consistent at this point in his career.
