Report: Grizzlies pick up Beno Udrih's option

(7/5/2015) As expected, the Grizzlies picked up Beno Udrih's contract Sunday, reports The Commercial Appeal.

Udrih will have his $2.2 million salary guaranteed for the 2015-16 season. In 79 games last season, Udrih averaged 7.7 points and 2.8 assists.

(6/6/2015) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih had successful ankle surgery, he announced on Instagram, this week. 

Udrih posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed, with his right foot in a boot and elevated. "Everything was a success!" he posted. "Gonna come back even stronger next season." 

Udrih injured the ankle in Game 2 of the team's playoff series against Portland.

(5/27/2015) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih will undergo minor ankle surgery, according to a report from European basketball site Sportando, and will not play on the Slovenian team in the upcoming Eurobasket tournament. 

Udrih dealt with the ankle issue during the playoffs but otherwise was healthy during the regular season, averaging 7.7 points and 2.8 rebounds.

Udrih, who is dealing with an ankle injury, sat out in Game 3 with an ankle sprain suffered in Game 2. Udrih averaged 7.7 points and 2.8 rebounds this season.


Grizzlies G Mike Conley to undergo facial surgery Monday

(4/26/2015) Grizzlies guard Mike Conley, already ruled out of Monday's Game 4, will travel back to Memphis and undergo facial surgery to repair multiple fractures, per TNT's Lewis Johnson. 

Conley left Saturday's game and did not return after getting hit by an inadvertent elbow from the Trail Blazers' CJ McCollum during the third quarter. Beno Udrih will start for Memphis in Conley's place. 

It remains unclear how much time Conley would miss after the surgery. If the Grizzlies advance to the Western Conference semifinals, they would play the Golden State Warriors.

Udrih sat out Game 3's win over the Trail Blazers with an ankle sprain. 

Udrich will likely see extended minutes on Monday with the unavailability of starting point guard Mike Conley (eye).

(4/22/2015) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih has been diagnosed with a right ankle sprain after exiting Game 2 Wednesday. He was able to check back into the game in the third quarter.

Udrih headed back to the locker room immediately after suffering the injury but was able to return to the bench a few minutes later. He was initially listed as probable to return before the team downgraded him to questionable during the first half. He returned to the court late in the third quarter.

Udrih's eight points on 4 of 7 shooting represented a team high at the time of his departure.

Randolph, who is averaging 16.5 points and 11.7 rebounds in 49 games, has not missed a game in the last two months. While Udrih, who is averaging 7.5 points and 2.9 assists in 56 games, has only missed two games this season.

The Grizzlies are currently 8 1/2-point favorites against the Jazz.

Udrih scored 15 points on 5 of 8 shooting while playing 20 minutes off the bench Friday, adding two steals and one assist in the loss. The Grizzlies are set to face the Cavaliers Sunday.

(4/21/2014) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih added a spark off the bench in place of a suspended Nick Calathes on Monday, scoring 14 points in a 111-105 double overtime victory over the Thunder in Game 2 of the opening round of the playoffs.

Udrih shot 6 of 8 from the floor, and 2 of 2 from the charity stripe. He also chipped in with three rebounds and two assists over 14 minutes of game action. He has combined for 17 points through his first two postseason games.
