Beno Udrih adds spark in double overtime win over Thunder

(4/21/2014) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih added a spark off the bench in place of a suspended Nick Calathes on Monday, scoring 14 points in a 111-105 double overtime victory over the Thunder in Game 2 of the opening round of the playoffs.

Udrih shot 6 of 8 from the floor, and 2 of 2 from the charity stripe. He also chipped in with three rebounds and two assists over 14 minutes of game action. He has combined for 17 points through his first two postseason games.

Beno Udrih remains a non-factor

(3/16/2014) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih has been largely a non-factor since being added via waivers in late February. He appeared in just his fourth game in 10 opportunities Saturday, scoring two points in six minutes in a 103-77 win over the 76ers.

Udrih was contributing at one point for the Knicks this season, but has not been a regular rotation player since mid-January. He is averaging 5.3 points and 3.2 assists per game in 35 appearances.

Udrih's contract was bought out by the Knicks on Monday, and he'll land in Memphis, where he can provide depth in the backcourt. He averaged 5.6 points and 3.5 assists over 31 games played in New York.

(2/24/2014) Knicks president and general manager Steve Mills announced that the team has waived guard Beno Udrih and forward Metta World Peace on Monday.

Udrih and World Peace have both seen their roles shrink dramatically recently. Udrih averaged just 5.6 points per game in 31 appearances, while World Peace averaged 4.8 points in 29 appearances.

(2/22/2014) Knicks coach Mike Woodson confirmed that the team is working towards buyouts of two players Saturday; guard Beno Udrih and forward Metta World Peace. Both buyouts had been reported earlier in the day, so Woodson was confirming that the team is looking to get out from under the players' contracts.

Udrih and World Peace have both seen their roles shrink dramatically recently. Udrih is averaging just 5.6 points per game in 31 appearances, while World Peace is averaging 4.8 points in his 29 appearances.

(2/22/2014) Metta World Peace isn't the only player that could be on his way out in New York. Beno Udrih and the Knicks are also negotiating on a contract buyout, according to Howard Beck of the Bleacher Report on Saturday.

Udrih requested a trade earlier in the season and the Knicks weren't able to ship him away before the Feb. 20 trade deadline. His role has diminished, leaving him to just one appearance in New York's last 14 games. He has averaged 5.6 points and 3.5 assists while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor.

(2/14/2014) Knicks guard Beno Udrih could be heading back to San Antonio before the trade deadline, according to a report from the New York Post on Friday.

Udrih, who spent his first three seasons in the league with the Spurs, has been in and out of the rotation, especially since requesting a trade in late January. He has played in 31 games but has not made an appearance off the bench since Jan. 24 against the Bobcats. He is averaging 5.6 points and 3.5 assists in 19.0 minutes per game in his appearances.

(1/20/2014) Frustrated with his role on the team, guard Beno Udrih has requested a trade, and the Knicks will try to honor the request, according to ESPN New York on Monday.

Udrih filled in for Pablo Prigioni and Raymond Felton while they were dealing with injuries. Udrih's role has nearly diminished, as he appeared in only three of New York's last seven games. He was held scoreless in four minutes of game action in a 103-80 loss to Brooklyn.

In 29 games, Udrih has averaged 5.9 points, 3.7 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game this season.

(1/9/2014) The Knicks have ruled out center Tyson Chandler and guard Beno Udrih out for Thursday's contest against the Heat, the team announced.

Both players were already listed as doubtful, as Chandler is still dealing with an upper repertory infection and Udrih has an inflammation of the left tibiofibular joint, according to an MRI on Thursday.

The Knicks will travel to Philadelphia for a showdown against the 76ers on Saturday.

Udrih could have an MRI Wednesday to ascertain the severity of the injury. He was held scoreless Tuesday, missing all three of his shots in eight minutes of action in the win. He also recorded two assists and one rebound before exiting.

(1/3/2014) Knicks guard Beno Udrih enjoyed another productive performance as he scored 10 points on 5 of 13 shooting, while missing his lone attempt from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter of Friday's loss to the Rockets in Houston.

Udrih did all of his damage in 34 minutes of game action, also adding seven assists, four rebounds and two steals in a 102-100 defeat. He has averaged 8.4 points, 6.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds over his last five games played.

Udrih played 38 minutes while adding four rebounds and four steals to his line Friday. He has averaged 6.1 points and 3.2 assists over 22 games played.

(12/16/2013) Knicks guard Beno Udrih is likely to be thrust into a starting role moving forward, as both Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni are sidelined by injuries. Felton has been out with a hamstring injury in recent days, and Prigioni went down with a fractured toe Monday against the Wizards that will likely cost him two weeks of action.

Udrih played 30 minutes off the bench in Monday's 102-101 loss to the Hawks, and put up decent numbers following Prigioni's departure. He scored 12 points on 3 of 7 shooting, and added five assists without a turnover.

Udrih has started four games for the Knicks this season, and is averaging 8.5 points, 4.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 28.0 minutes per game.

Udrih missed all three of his field goal attempts, including two from beyond the arc. He finished scoreless with four assists and one rebound while logging 18 minutes of game action in a 92-86 defeat.

Udrih has only played in five games this season and has not scored more than six points in a game.
