Grizzlies PG Beno Udrih injures finger, X-rays negative

(12/19/2014) Grizzlies point guard Beno Udrih injured his finger and left his team's loss to the Bulls Friday, but X-rays on the finger came back negative, The Commercial Appeal reports.

Udrih scored 15 points on 5 of 8 shooting while playing 20 minutes off the bench Friday, adding two steals and one assist in the loss. The Grizzlies are set to face the Cavaliers Sunday.


Grizzlies' Tony Allen, Quincy Pondexter in question Friday

(11/21/2014) Grizzlies shooting guards Tony Allen and Quincy Pondexter are the only two players who remain on the team's injury report for Friday's game against the Celtics.

Both players continue to deal with an illness that rocked the Memphis roster. Allen is questionable for Friday's game, while Pondexter is doubtful. As they are the only two players whose availability is in question, center Kosta Koufos, guard Beno Udrih and forwards Jarnell Stokes and Jon Leuer will be available Friday.

Already deemed questionable had been shooting guards Courtney Lee and Tony Allen, center Kosta Koufos, power forward Jon Leuer and point guard Beno Udrih.

The Grizzlies will be down to nine players for Wednesday's game. The quintent of sick players will look to kick the stomach bugs in time for Friday's game against the Celtics.


Five Memphis players questionable due to stomach virus

(11/19/2014) Grizzlies guard Tony Allen, center Kosta Koufos, guard Courtney Lee, forward Jon Leuer and guard Beno Udrih are all questionable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors due to a stomach virus, according to reporter Rob Fischer.

Lee was taken to the hospital due to dehydration, according to 92.9 ESPN. He wants to play Wednesday, but he is still listed as questionable.

Udrih briefly left the game after bruising his right hand. He returned after X-rays came back negative, and was able to finish the game. Udrih scored two points in the contest. 


Beno Udrih adds spark in double overtime win over Thunder

(4/21/2014) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih added a spark off the bench in place of a suspended Nick Calathes on Monday, scoring 14 points in a 111-105 double overtime victory over the Thunder in Game 2 of the opening round of the playoffs.

Udrih shot 6 of 8 from the floor, and 2 of 2 from the charity stripe. He also chipped in with three rebounds and two assists over 14 minutes of game action. He has combined for 17 points through his first two postseason games.

(3/16/2014) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih has been largely a non-factor since being added via waivers in late February. He appeared in just his fourth game in 10 opportunities Saturday, scoring two points in six minutes in a 103-77 win over the 76ers.

Udrih was contributing at one point for the Knicks this season, but has not been a regular rotation player since mid-January. He is averaging 5.3 points and 3.2 assists per game in 35 appearances.

Udrih and World Peace have both seen their roles shrink dramatically recently. Udrih averaged just 5.6 points per game in 31 appearances, while World Peace averaged 4.8 points in 29 appearances.

(2/22/2014) Knicks coach Mike Woodson confirmed that the team is working towards buyouts of two players Saturday; guard Beno Udrih and forward Metta World Peace. Both buyouts had been reported earlier in the day, so Woodson was confirming that the team is looking to get out from under the players' contracts.

Udrih and World Peace have both seen their roles shrink dramatically recently. Udrih is averaging just 5.6 points per game in 31 appearances, while World Peace is averaging 4.8 points in his 29 appearances.

(2/22/2014) Metta World Peace isn't the only player that could be on his way out in New York. Beno Udrih and the Knicks are also negotiating on a contract buyout, according to Howard Beck of the Bleacher Report on Saturday.

Udrih requested a trade earlier in the season and the Knicks weren't able to ship him away before the Feb. 20 trade deadline. His role has diminished, leaving him to just one appearance in New York's last 14 games. He has averaged 5.6 points and 3.5 assists while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor.

(2/14/2014) Knicks guard Beno Udrih could be heading back to San Antonio before the trade deadline, according to a report from the New York Post on Friday.

Udrih, who spent his first three seasons in the league with the Spurs, has been in and out of the rotation, especially since requesting a trade in late January. He has played in 31 games but has not made an appearance off the bench since Jan. 24 against the Bobcats. He is averaging 5.6 points and 3.5 assists in 19.0 minutes per game in his appearances.

(1/20/2014) Frustrated with his role on the team, guard Beno Udrih has requested a trade, and the Knicks will try to honor the request, according to ESPN New York on Monday.

Udrih filled in for Pablo Prigioni and Raymond Felton while they were dealing with injuries. Udrih's role has nearly diminished, as he appeared in only three of New York's last seven games. He was held scoreless in four minutes of game action in a 103-80 loss to Brooklyn.

In 29 games, Udrih has averaged 5.9 points, 3.7 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game this season.

Both players were already listed as doubtful, as Chandler is still dealing with an upper repertory infection and Udrih has an inflammation of the left tibiofibular joint, according to an MRI on Thursday.
