Wizards release Barron


(12/23/2012) The Wizards have released center Earl Barron and guard Shaun Livingston Sunday. According to the Washington Post, the Wizards will use the two spots available to seek some backcourt help.

Barron rips 14 rebounds


(12/18/2012) Washington power forward Earl Barron grabbed 14 rebounds on an otherwise awful night against the Hawks. Barron played 26 minutes in the overtime defeat and shot just 2 of 10 from the field to score four points. He did add four blocks for the Wizards, which have just three wins on the season. Barron committed four turnovers and also five fouls.

Warriors parts ways with Barron


(2/6/2012) The Golden State Warriors recalled F Chris Wright from the NBA Developmental League and released F Earl Barron, the team announced Monday. Barron joined the Warriors' roster in mid-January after Kwame Brown went down with a potentially season-ending injury.

(4/12/2011) As expected, the Trail Blazers have officially signed center Earl Barron for the remainder of the season. Barron has played parts of five seasons with Miami, New York, Phoenix and Milwaukee. He has averaged 5.2 points and 3.6 rebounds, appearing in 108 games, including 27 starts. Barron will be eligible for the postseason.

Portland to sign Barron


(4/12/2011) The Oregonian reports the Trail Blazers will sign center Earl Barron on Tuesday so that he will be available to be on the team’s playoff roster. Barron, a 7-foot, 250-pound center who went to school at Memphis, has played in 108 NBA games since 2005, most recently appearing in 12 games with Phoenix this season when he averaged 3.0 points and 3.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes a game. Barron started six games for the Suns. He also appeared in seven games this season for Milwaukee. On Monday, Barron worked out for the Blazers along with Robert Swift and Dwayne Jones.

Bucks let Barron go


(3/23/2011) Milwaukee center Earl Barron was not signed for the rest of the season and was let go on Wednesday after his second 10-day contract expired on Tuesday. According to the team's official website, the return of Drew Gooden and the anticipated return of Ersan Ilyasova from a concussion led the Bucks to not resigning Barron. “It just didn’t make sense,” coach Scott Skiles said. “He wouldn’t have been activated tonight. We liked what he did; he did a nice job for us, but it just didn’t make sense going forward.”

(3/12/2011) The Bucks signed center Earl Barron to a second 10-day contract the team announced on Saturday. Barron has averaged 4.7 rebounds and four points in three games with the Bucks thus far.

Barron to have some value?


(3/1/2011) Bucks C Andrew Bogut is expected to miss at least one week with what has been diagnosed as a muscle strain in his left ribcage area, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Bogut suffered the injury late in Saturday's game against Chicago. In his absence, Jon Brockman and Larry Sanders figure to see an increase in playing time. Newly acquired Earl Barron could also be in line for more playing time.

(2/28/2011) The Milwaukee Bucks signed forward Earl Barron to a 10-day contract, reports the Journal Times. Barron played 12 games for the Suns earlier this season and even made six starts. He averaged 3.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

(12/21/2010) The Suns announced that they waived C Earl Barron on Tuesday. Barron averaged 15.3 minutes per game in 12 appearances for Phoenix.

(12/14/2010) The Arizona Republic reports that Suns C Robin Lopez (knee) will play on Wednesday against Minnesota. He added that he "more than likely" will get the start at center as well. Lopez and center Earl Barron have shared time at first-team center during practices. Barron is expected to return to the bench.

(12/8/2010) Suns PF Earl Barron isn't exactly filling it up from the starting lineup. Starting once again in Portland on Tuesday, Barron was once again in single digits with seven points on 1 of 3 from the field and 5 of 6 from the line over 32 minutes. Barron added four rebounds and fouled out before it was all over.

Barron earns first start


(12/3/2010) Phoenix forward Earl Barron earned his first start of the season Thursday and finished with a team-low two points in 25 minutes as the Suns defeated the Warriors, 107-101. Barron took Hakim Warrick's place in the lineup and could be headed for more playing time. Barron recorded four rebounds as Suns coach Alvin Gentry used his fifth starting lineup in 19 games hoping to earn collect more rebounds. "We're just trying to see if it can give us better rebounding with two 7-foot guys," he said.

(4/30/2008) Earl Barron entered the 2007-08 season having played just 36 games combined over his first two seasons. Due to the team trading away Shaquille O'Neal and an injury to Alonzo Mourning, he appeared in 46 games and started 15 of them. He averaged 7.1 ppg and 4.3 rpg.
