News: The USA Today reports Saturday that center/forward Channing Frye, who has been out all season due to an enlarged heart found during a routine stress exam, plans to return to the NBA next season. Frye said he is "95 percent positive" about playing next year.
Analysis: Frye did admit there is a chance he'll never be able to take the court again, but he's already planning on hitting the road with the Suns in March and April to get back in the swing of traveling. Frye has two years left on his contract and the Suns would love him back. We'll let you know about any relevant Fantasy value when it comes up but he's still not returning this year.
News: The Suns announced Thursday that forward Channing Frye is unlikely to be available for the start of the regular season, after a routine preseason physical revealed an enlarged heart. He will be sidelined indefinitely as a result of the issue, and will be re-evaluated in December.
Analysis: Frye underwent off season surgery to repair a right shoulder injury, but that was not expected to cost him any of the season. This latest issue, however, could prove to be very serious, and it will be something that we will have to keep an eye on moving forward. At this point, he is not worth drafting in most Fantasy formats, until we get some more concrete information on how this will affect him moving forward.
News: Suns forward Channing Frye underwent surgery on his right shoulder on Wednesday to repair a dislocation and subluxation suffered during a game in late April. He is expected to be healthy for the start of the 2012-13 season.
Analysis: Frye struggled with his shot all season long, as he shot a career low 41.6 percent from the field, with 10.5 points per game. He took a step back from the year before in almost all categories, and now looks at next season in Phoenix without Steve Nash to get him open shots, after a summer of recovery. Despite that, Frye should be targeted in the later rounds on Draft Day in most leagues for his ability to rebound and hit the three.
News: Suns forward Channing Frye was unable to return to the floor on Thursday against the Spurs with a shoulder injury, ending his season with 64 games played. Frye suffered the injury on Saturday and missed the seasons final two games with a subluxed right shoulder.

News: Suns center Channing Frye was ruled out for Tuesday night's contest against the Jazz due to a shoulder injury. Frye suffered a subluxed right shoulder against Denver on Saturday night and is being considered day to day, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: Frye dealt with a similar injury last season that kept him our for 12 days, so at this point it seems very unlikely that he will be able to return for the the regular season. Frye has been averaging 10.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game over the last 10, however at this point we do not expect Frye to return. We will keep you updated on his status moving forward.
News: Suns forward Channing Frye was forced to leave Saturday's game against the Nuggets, after getting hit on the shoulder in the second quarter. He was unable to return to the floor, and was later diagnosed with a shoulder sublaxation, or partial dislocation. Suns coach Alvin Gentry was asked after the game whether he thought Frye would be ready to return on Tuesday, with the team having two days off before the game. "We'll know a lot more tomorrow from how he feels and what it is," Gentry said.
Analysis: Frye dealt with a similar injury last season that kept him our for 12 days, so at this point it seems very unlikely that he will be able to return for the final two games of the regular season. However, from Gentry's words, we should know soon either way. Frye has been averaging 10.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game over the last 10, however at this point we do not expect Frye to return. We will keep you updated on his status moving forward.
News: Phoenix power forward Channing Frye has been struggling mightily from 3-point range but showed some signs of life on Wednesday in a win over the Jazz. Frye hit three 3-pointers in five attempts in the game and scored 13 points on 5 of 13 from the field overall over 29 minutes. Frye added four rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.
Analysis: Frye had gone 0 for 11 in his previous two games from 3-point range and had been just 3 for 24 in his last four contests before making 3 of 5 from deep on Wednesday against the Jazz. Three-point shooting sets Frye apart from other big men as he's mediocre in big-man stats. As long as Frye is connecting from deep, he can be active in any Fantasy format.
News: Suns center Channing Frye's struggles continued during Tuesday night's contest against the Spurs. Frye finished with seven points in the 107-100 victory, on 3 of 9 shooting from the field. He went 1 of 2 from downtown and also added seven rebounds and two blocks to his stat line, while logging 33 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Frye was playing well during the early portion of March, but he has fallen back into a funk over the past few games. He is averaging just 8.0 points over his last five games and is shooting 39 percent from the field over that stretch. Despite his recent struggles, Fantasy owners have no choice but to continue and roll with Frye in the majority of formats at this point in the season.
News: Suns forward Channing Frye continued his solid play of late on Thursday, scoring 12 points on 4 of 7 shooting against the Clippers, with all of his baskets coming from three-point range. He also added six rebounds, two assists and three blocks in the Suns 91-87 win.
Analysis: Frye remains a uniquely-skilled big man, as he has legitimate three-point range. Over the last five games, Frye has found his strong, hitting 50.9 percent of his shots for 14.2 points per game. He has gotten hot from three-point range over the last three games, specifically, where he has made 13 three-pointers in that time span. Frye remains a more useful option in Rotisserie formats, however he remains viable starting option in all Fantasy formats at this time.
News: Suns forward Channing Frye continued his recent run of strong shooting on Thursday, hitting 5 of 10 from the field and 2 of 3 from three-point range to put in 14 points against the Timberwolves. He also grabbed five rebounds and two blocks, however he played just 23 minutes in the game as he struggled some with fouls while guarding Kevin Love. The Suns won the game, 104-95.
Analysis: Fry has shot 51 percent over the past four games while adding 11 makes from three-point range. He has seen his minutes go backs up in that time frame, averaging 30 minutes per game. His minutes and production have fluctuated throughout the season, so while Fantasy owners will want to ride him while he is hot, just be aware that his role could shrink at any moment. While hes playing solid minutes, Frye is a solid starting option in most Fantasy formats.
News: Phoenix forwards Channing Frye and Markieff Morris appear to be playing themselves into a timeshare. Frye continued to start on Friday at the Lakers, but went just 2 of 9 from the field for five points over 20 minutes. Morris, on the other hand, went 6 of 13 with two 3-pointers to score 14 points over 24 minutes and was on the floor at the end of the game with the Suns trying to make a run.
Analysis: Frye has been losing his grip on the starting job to Morris and his minutes have been dwindling. That said, they are still locked in a timeshare and that continues to hurt Frye's Fantasy value. Frye is averaging 12.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 3-pointers per game over his last five. That is serviceable production, but it doesn't look like it will be improving much with Morris' numbers even better over that span. Frye remains viable in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Suns F Channing Frye continued his recent scoring binge on Monday against the Warriors. He finished with 18 points and five rebounds in the 102-96 loss. He went 7 for 17 from the floor, including 1 for 8 from downtown, and converted all three of his free throws. Frye, who played 32 minutes, also chipped in with four assists, a steal and a block in the defeat.
Analysis: Frye scored in double figures for the fifth straight game on Monday and is starting to regain his scoring stroke. He is averaging 17.8 points with 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in those contests, and is shooting 47 percent over that span. He has shown over the past two seasons that he can score in double digits on a nightly basis so keep an eye on his progress going forward. But as long as he can keep up this pace, owners should consider getting Frye active again in larger formats.
News: Just a few days after setting a season-high 19 points, Phoenix forward Channing Frye decided to one-up himself. He scored a season-high 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds on Thursday night against the Rockets. Frye saw 42 minutes of action for Phoenix and shot 8 for 17 from the field -- going 4 for 9 from beyond the 3-point arc. He also had one assist, two blocks and two steals for the Suns. His efforts would not be enough though as the Rockets would win the game, 96-89.
Analysis: Frye has been very inconsistent this season, but his coach has rearranged the rotation more times than anyone can keep up with. Frye has scored in double figures in three straight games and is averaging 12.8 points over his last five outings. He's also shooting 33.3 percent from downtown over that span. Frye is still more of a Rotisserie forward option because of his inconsistency, but if he can keep up this kind of production he'd warrant attention in deeper head-to-head leagues.
News: Suns F Channing Frye has struggled mightily this season; however he showed no signs of it on Monday against Atlanta. He gave the Hawks fits all night, scoring a season-high 19 points on 8 of 16 shooting while adding nine rebounds in a 99-90 Suns victory. "I thought Channing shot the ball well, and when he does that, we're pretty good," Suns coach Alvin Gentry said. Frye added three makes from three-point range to go along with an assist and two blocks, as his ability to stretch the floor and provide a presence down low flummoxed Atlantas Josh Smith.
Analysis: Frye is still shooting below 40 percent from the field on the season, however he has scored in double figures in two of his last four games, so he may be showing some signs of turning things around. He has a solid Fantasy game, if he can ever find his shot consistently, as he showed Monday. If he does, he'll be worth using in deeper Fantasy formats. Until that time, he can be avoided in most formats.
News: Suns coach Alvin Gentry told ArizonaSports.com on Tuesday that he's going to stick with Channing Frye in the rotation despite his season-long shooting slump. "I'm going to try to give him as much confidence as I possibly can. That's what I'm supposed to do as a coach," Gentry said.
Analysis: Frye scored seven points on Monday against Dallas over 20 minutes. He went 1 for 5 from the field and didn't grab a board with one block. Frye is shooting 27 percent for the season from the field and just 20 percent in his last five games. He has a solid Fantasy game, if he can ever find his shot. If he does, he'll be worth using in deeper Fantasy formats. Until that time, he can be avoided in most formats.
News: Phoenix coach Alvin Gentry shuffled his starting lineup yet again, and forward Channing Frye replaced rookie Markieff Morris on Saturday. Despite starting, Frye had just two points in 14 minutes and was outperformed by Morris. Frye shot 1 for 9 from the field, missing all three of his attempts from downtown. He added three rebounds in the Suns 86-84 win over the Grizzlies.
Analysis: Frye is frustrating to Phoenix and to Fantasy owners. While he can be a cheap source of 3-pointers, he's only hitting 17.6 percent of his attempts from long range recently. Over his last five outings he's averaging 3.4 points and 4.6 boards. Those numbers have no place in Fantasy leagues. Even though he's back in as a starter, until Frye shows a bit more consistency he is not a recommended option.
News: Phoenix PF Markieff Morris got the starting nod on Wednesday night in New York for the Suns. Coach Alvin Gentry wanted to shake up the lineup and started Morris over Channing Frye. He also started Ronnie Price over Jared Dudley. Frye had played just 18 minutes per night in his previous two games after averaging well over 22 minutes per game for much of the season. Morris was injured six minutes into the game, though, so Frye still got 25 minutes. He went 3 for 6 from the field and hit three 3-pointers to score nine points with four rebounds and four blocks.
Analysis: Frye has shot 2 for 14 from the field in his previous two games entering Wednesday and had scored a grand total of four points with six rebounds over that stretch. Frye is averaging almost eight points and over six rebounds per game on the season, but he's in danger of losing his rotation spot. For now, Frye only has Fantasy appeal in much deeper formats.
News: Suns F Channing Frye's shooting woes continued during Tuesday night's contest against the Bulls. Frye made just two of his seven shot attempts during the 118-97 defeat, to finish with four points. He missed both of his attempts from downtown and also chipped in with four rebounds, one block and a steal, while logging 18 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Frye has been awful over his last two contests, as he scored a combined four points over that stretch. He has made just two of his last 14 shot attempts and has gone 0 for 5 from downtown during his cold streak. While it is not uncommon for shooters to go through slumps at points during a season, Frye's overall shooting percentage has been down thus far. Fantasy owners may want to think about leaving the 28-year-old on the bench until he starts knocking down some shots.
News: Suns forward Channing Frye scored just four points in Friday's 102-77 win over the Trail Blazers. He shot 1 for 5 from the field and converted both his foul shots. Frye would miss all three of his attempts from beyond the 3-point arc, which dropped his percentage to 20 over his last five games. Frye added a steal and three rebounds in his 17 minutes of action on Friday.
Analysis: Frye is seeing about 22 minutes of action for the Suns, which has limited him to a point. He has two double-doubles in his last five outings and has grabbed double-digit boards in three of those contests. Still, Frye's 3-point shooting gives him added Fantasy value. Despite his off night, owners should continue to view Frye as a viable forward option in most leagues.
News: After two sub-par performances to start the year, Suns F Channing Frye got back on track in Friday's game against the Hornets. He scored 10 points and hauled in 16 rebounds in the 93-78 win. He shot just 4 for 15 from the floor, including 2 for 9 from downtown, while playing 25 minutes. Frye also had three blocks and two assists in the victory.
Analysis: Frye had his best campaign as a pro for the Suns last season and has the potential to surpass those numbers this year. He is one of the better rebounders on the squad and can get hot from the field from time to time, especially from outside. Keep an eye on his progress going forward and continue to view Frye as a viable option in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: Suns C Channing Frye really struggled with his shot in Phoenix's preseason opener against the Nuggets on Tuesday night. Frye, who averaged a career-best 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last year, finished with just six points in the 127-110 defeat. He went just 1 for 8 from the field, including 0 of 6 from downtown and managed just three rebounds and an assist, while logging 20 minutes.
Analysis: Frye is coming off a career year with the Suns last year, but looked pretty rusty on Tuesday night. However, that's what preseason games are for, so we aren't too concerned about his performance. Frye is among the premiere 3-point shooters in the game right now as he finished with 176 3s last season. The fact he is eligible at center in leagues that allow for multiple positions only helps his value, and we feel makes him worthy of a mid-round pick in most formats. However, he may hold a tad more value in Rotisserie leagues, based on his long range and high field-goal percentage.
News: After bursting onto the scene as a 3-point shooting big man last season, Suns C Channing Frye followed it up with an even better campaign in 2010-11. He was again an assassin from long-range, finishing fourth in the NBA with 171 shots made from downtown after last season's career-high 172. Frye was more of an all-around scorer though, posting personal bests with 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. He also saw more playing time than ever before, logging 33 minutes per game this season. Frye is locked in to a contract with five years remaining on it, after collecting over $5 Million this season in Phoenix.
Analysis: Frye improved on his all-around offensive game and became a more balanced scorer, but he improved defensively as well. Frye put in the career-high in rebounding, but he also protected the paint better than ever before -- blocking 1.0 shots per game. He protected the ball better when it was in his hands as well, committing fewer than one turnover per game despite playing more minutes in the rotation this year. All of the improvement translated well for Frye from a Fantasy standpoint, as he finished in the top-20 among centers in CBSSports.com standard formats. The mark is solid considering he was taken after the 10th round on average, and he outperformed guys like JaVale McGee, Emeka Okafor, Andrew Bynum and Marcus Camby -- who were all selected before him on average. Heading into 2011-12, Frye figures to be a starting option in all formats worthy of a middle round draft pick, with a bit more value in category-based formats because of his top-notch ability from beyond the arc.
News: Center Channing Frye set the Suns' regular-season record with nine 3-pointers during Monday's 135-127 win over the Timberwolves. Frye finished with 33 points in the victory on 12 of 18 shooting from the field. He finished a whopping 9 of 14 from downtown and also chipped in with four rebounds and an assist in 42 minutes. "Coming home, seeing the family and getting in a comfortable environment rejuvenated me," said Frye. "I just wanted to be a little more aggressive tonight."
Analysis: Frye has once again put together a pretty solid season for the Suns, especially over the last two months. Despite shooting just 38 percent from downtown, Frye still finished with over 150 3-pointers made and set new career-highs in minutes (32.8), starts (62) and rebounds (5.6). While he can be a bit streaky at times, more often than not, Frye will get his numbers. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy center heading into next season.
News: Suns C Channing Frye was back in double figures Sunday against the Spurs, scoring 14 points in 31 minutes of a blowout loss to San Antonio. He had been held below 10 points in his two previous games. Frye added four rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Analysis: We had high hopes for Frye this week against the likes of Sacramento, Oklahoma City and the L.A. Clippers. He started off well with 21-1-9-2-1 against the the Kings, but fizzled against the Thunder and Clippers. He shot poorly in the two games and never managed to get on track. We don't want to blame this on his shoulder injury as Frye looked outstanding in his first five games after the layoff, but perhaps it has caught up with him. Frye has solid upside as a scorer and source for 3-pointers and rebounds, but right now he appears to be just a low-end play for the final scoring period of the season.
News: After being shutout in his last game, Suns center Channing Frye has able to get back on the score sheet during Tuesday's 116-113 loss to the Kings. Frye finished with 21 points in the contest on 8 of 18 shooting from the field. He went 2 of 9 from downtown and also chipped in with nine rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist while logging 37 minutes. Frye is averaging 16.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over his last five contests.
Analysis: Frye has once again put together a pretty solid season for the Suns, especially over the last two months. The 27-year-old is averaging nearly 16 points and 8.5 rebounds over that stretch while shooting 42 percent from downtown over that stretch. While the Suns' playoff chances continue to dwindle, Frye's production has remained pretty steady. Fantasy owners should continue to ride the veteran in all formats over the final few weeks of the season.
News: Suns center Channing Frye turned in a monster effort in Tuesday's triple-overtime thriller against the Lakers. Frye finished with a career-high 32 points in the defeat on 11 of 23 shooting from the field. He went a perfect 5 of 5 at the charity stripe and hit three big free-throws with seconds left in the game to force double overtime. Frye also grabbed 14 rebounds in the contest to go along with an assist while logging a game-high 56 minutes.
Analysis: Frye played great on Tuesday but was unable to get the Suns over the hump. Still, the fact that he logged over 57 minutes should put to rest any questions about his ailing shoulder as should his monster stat line. Frye is averaging 22.7 points and 9.0 rebounds since he returned from his shoulder injury and should be active in all formats heading into the final few weeks of the season.
News: After missing five games with a shoulder injury Phoenix center Channing Frye returned to the lineup to score 17 points and grab nine boards. He didn't shoot the ball great as he went 5 for 12 from the field, but would connect on 3 of his 6 attempts from beyond the arc. Frye admitted it had been a while since he missed so many open shots. Frye, wearing a brace under his jersey to stabilize the shoulder he hurt March 6, missed his first four shots but was key to the offense with guard Vince Carter struggling to make shots. "My teammates did a great job of just making sure that I kept a level head," Frye said. "Just tried to get my legs into it. The shoulder's fine. When I'm out there playing, I don't really think about that." Coach Alvin Gentry wasn't concerned about how Frye would play. "He's been dying to get back out there. He shot it feeling like all of them were going to go in," Gentry said. "I'm not worried about it, I think he'll knock down the ones he missed." The Suns went on to beat the Warriors, 108-97.
Analysis: Frye is a big man for the Suns, but his play from the outside gives him value in Fantasy leagues. This season Frye is averaging 12.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest, while shooting 39.6 percent from downtown. Now that he's back in the lineup and after this performance, Fantasy owners should feel confident inserting Frye back into those lineups. He's a serviceable center option in most formats, when healthy.
News: The team's official website reports that Suns coach Alvin Gentry said Friday that center Channing Frye will start Friday night against Golden State and will have no limitations with his injured right shoulder. Im just to stick him out there and have him play, said Gentry. We dont know how much hell be able to bang until he goes out there and bangs. Frye missed five games, and the Suns went 1-4 without him.
Analysis: It appears like Frye will play against the Warriors, and this is a great sign that he's able to return sooner than expected. The Suns have four games in Fantasy Week 22, and we expect Frye to be ready to go barring a setback. Consider him a quality Fantasy option in all leagues when healthy.
News: The Arizona Republic reports that Suns center Channing Frye hopes to play Friday night against Golden State, two days shy of the two-week mark when he first injured his right shoulder. "I am (hopeful about playing Friday) but at the same time we'll see how it is after practice," Frye said. "Shooting, dunking and hook shots, that's fine. But having to bang and hold my ground against 300-pound dudes, that's a whole different story. So we'll see what happens (Thursday) in practice and we'll get going." Since the injury, Frye has put in hours daily with conditioning work, exercises and therapy to restore the shoulder's range of motion and strength. Frye shot twice Wednesday, taking the most shots he has (about 200) at the morning shootaround and trying his first 3-pointers in the evening at New Orleans. It was the first day he woke with no soreness from workouts. "We're getting close," Frye said. "It feels good to come back and have some legs and get ready to help the team. I want to make sure I come back and I'm ready. I've got cleared from all the doctors. Whenever it feels good without soreness, the next day I'm pretty good."
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should use caution with Frye and let him take his time in coming back. If he plays well Friday against Golden State and Sunday against the Clippers then he could be worth using in Fantasy Week 22 when the Suns have four games. Frye is a quality Fantasy option in all leagues when healthy, and it appears like his injured shoulder is improving.
News:The Arizona Republic reports that there is a "possibility" that Channing Frye (shoulder) could return to action on Friday against Golden State. "Hopefully, I'll be right behind him," Frye said of Steve Nash's return potential return on Wednesday night from an injury. "I have to listen to my body and listen to the trainer. It's not like I can say, 'Let me play through the pain,' because this is my livelihood. The shoulder is pretty serious. I'm trying to avoid getting surgery. I want to continue pushing every day but I can only go as fast as my body tells me."
Analysis: Frye was able to take 100 mid-range shots prior to Monday's game against Houston. On March 7, it was announced that Frye would likely miss 2-3 weeks after suffering a dislocated shoulder. It still seems highly unlikely that Frye would be able to return on Friday, but there is at least a remote chance. Continue to monitor his progress. When healthy, Frye has emerged as a rare source of both 3-pointers and rebounds from a center-eligible player and is an overall solid scorer. He may be in play for Fantasy Week 22 (March 21-27) after all.
News:The Arizona Republic reports that Suns C/F Channing Frye (shoulder) was able to take 100 mid-range shots prior to Monday's game against Houston. On March 7, it was announced that Frye would likely miss 2-3 weeks after suffering a dislocated shoulder. "I'm feeling not too bad," Frye said. "It's a little sore after so we're still getting there."
Analysis: There was no update as far as an updated time-line for his recovery, but Frye did say last Wednesday that he hopes to come back before the initial 2-3 week timetable. Continue to monitor his progress. When healthy, Frye has emerged as a rare source of both 3-pointers and rebounds from a center-eligible player and is an overall solid scorer.
News: The Arizona Republic reports that Suns forward Channing Frye, who dislocated his right shoulder, hopes to shorten the two- to three-week timetable for a return but appreciates that the Suns are looking out for his long-term health, especially because he had a subluxation with the same shoulder two years ago. "It made my stomach hurt," Frye said of the injury. "When it happened, it was a weird, weird feeling. It took two seconds for my body to react. I was more mad that they didn't call a foul. Then I felt my shoulder out of the socket, and then I felt like, 'I'm going to (throw up).' " Frye said no surgery will be necessary.
Analysis: Continue to monitor what happens with Frye, but he likely won't be back until the Fantasy playoffs at the earliest with at least two weeks off for the injury. After that, you have to hope he can continue to play at a high level. Frye averaged 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds in his last 10 appearances and has been a strong play in Fantasy. Stash him for now.
News: Phoenix's official website reports that center Channing Frye could miss 2-3 weeks of action after dislocating his shoulder on Sunday against the Thunder. Frye could not practice on Monday and underwent an MRI. The MRI confirmed the dislocation and Suns' orthopedic surgeon Dr. Thomas Carter will continue to evaluate. He should miss between 2-3 weeks, however. .
Analysis: It sounds as if Frye could possibly return sooner than two weeks, but only in the best-case scenario. More than likely, he's going to be out the full expected timetable. Frye should be benched in all Fantasy formats for Week 20 (March 7-13) at this point. Frye averaged 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds in his last 10 appearances and has been a strong play in Fantasy. Stash him for now.
News: The Suns had no word on how long injured C/F Channing Frye (shoulder) would be out on Monday, according to the team's official website. Frye was not at the team's practice and coach Alvin Gentry said that he still had not heard how long Frye would be out. Frye suffered dislocated shoulder in Sunday's 122-118 overtime loss to the Thunder.
Analysis: Frye has no timetable set yet, but it would surprise nobody to see him miss several games. He remains too risky for Fantasy Week 20 (March 7-13) given the uncertainty, but Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his progress. As soon as there is a more concrete timetable, we will have it for you. Frye averaged 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds in his last 10 appearances and has been a strong play in Fantasy.
News: Suns C/F Channing Frye suffered dislocated shoulder in Sunday's 122-118 overtime loss to the Thunder. Frye sustained the injury while going up for a shot attempt in the fourth quarter after he had scored 11 points and pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds. "He's the one guy that we really can't afford to lose," Gentry said. "He's been great for us, and with spacing and some things like that, hopefully it's going to be something that's short term." A Thunder team doctor attended to Frye in a hallway near the court, but he never returned to the game. "I've just got to make sure I take care of it. I hate not playing," Frye said. "No matter what I do, I'm going to try to be out there. It's super sore right now but for me it's more about the team and I'm just mad I couldn't go out there and help them in that situation."
Analysis: There has been no timetable announced for Frye's recovery, so he will now be an injury risk heading into Fantasy Week 20 (March 7-13). Owners should continue to monitor his progress moving forward, but it might not be a bad idea to look for a healthy alternative just in case. Frye had been playing very well of late. He is averaging 11.2 points and 8.8 rebounds over his last five contests and is shooting better than 45 percent from downtown over that stretch. He can be considered a more than viable Fantasy center, when healthy. The Suns play the Rockets, Nuggets and Magic during the upcoming scoring period.
News: Phoenix forward Channing Frye was able to give the Suns some quality minutes on Friday night after colliding with teammate Vince Carter in Wednesday's contest against Boston. Frye said the experience was humbling to be beaten up by the Celtics before banging violently into another teammate. "Getting conked on the head was kind of like a reality - at any moment, this can all be taken away," Frye said. He would bounce back and score 20 points as the Suns used a blistering 19-0 run in the third quarter to flip a deficit into a big lead in a 102-88 victory over the Bucks on Friday night. "We've got nothing to lose," Frye said. "Nobody thought we were going to be nothing anyway, so hey, we make it to the playoffs again, we might do what we did last year." He added that no one expects them to make the postseason, which is why they are so dangerous. Frye added nine rebounds, an assist and two steals in his 37 minutes on Friday.
Analysis: Frye has picked his game up this year for the Suns. Over his last 10 games, Frye is averaging 15.3 points and 7.0 boards per contest, while shooting 58.3 percent from the field. All of those lines are much higher than his career numbers of 9.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 40.5 percent shooting. He seems healthy after that collision with Carter, which is a good sign. Fantasy owners in all formats should view Frye as a solid forward option the remainder of the season.
News: The Arizona Republic reports that Suns guard Vince Carter won't play Friday night at Milwaukee. The report says he remains dizzy from his collision with Channing Frye on Wednesday. Frye is OK, and Mickael Pietrus will start in Carter's place.
Analysis: It appears safe to keep Frye active in all leagues, and hopefully he won't suffer a setback. Frye has become a quality Fantasy center in all formats, and he should be able to finish the season strong as long as he's 100 percent healthy.
News: The Suns played the last 17 minutes without Channing Frye and Vince Carter, who banged heads and left Wednesday's game versus the Celtics. Phoenix got a scare when Frye and Carter banged heads with 4:53 left in the third quarter. Frye got up after a minute or two, but Carter stayed on the court longer and eventually walked off, rubbing his head and clearly unsteady on his feet. The team said Frye had a bruised eye and Carter had a cut on his mouth. Neither returned. The Suns would lose the game, 115-103, to the new-look Celtics. Frye went just 1 for 4 from the floor -- missing his lone 3-pointer -- and connecting on both his foul shots. The veteran forward finished with four points, two rebounds and a block in his 25 minutes of action.
Analysis: Frye had been playing well for the Suns lately, averaging 16.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game over his last 10 outings. He's been shooting 50.8 percent from the floor over that span as well. For a big man, Frye provides Fantasy owners with a nice source of 3-pointers. Keep close tabs on his eye to see if it will keep him out of any games. If he's healthy, Frye is worth using in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Suns C/F Channing Frye hit a game-winning 3-pointer as the clock expired in Sunday's overtime win at Indiana. He scored 14 points to go with 10 rebounds and is averaging 21.0 points over his last five games. He has shot 19 of 39 (48.7 percent) from beyond the arc in that span.
Analysis: Frye provides a rare combination of rebounding and 3-point shooting for a center-eligible big man. He plays around 35-40 minutes and has become a big part of the team's offensive arsenal as the season has gone on and has emerged as a great play across the board in Fantasy.
News: Phoenix C Channing Frye came out of the All-Star break just as hot as he entered it on Wednesday night in a win over Atlanta. Frye shot 8 for 14 from the field over 32 minutes and hit four 3-pointers to score 20 points. He added four rebounds and a block.
Analysis: Frye has scored at least 20 points in three straight games now for Phoenix and he's shooting extremely well from the field and 3-point range. Frye has connected on 13 3-pointers in his last three contests and 16 in his last four. He's also pulling down 7.4 rebounds and a block per game over his last five. Frye has become a nice Fantasy play in all leagues.
News: Suns center Channing Frye turned in one of his best offensive games of the season in Tuesday's 102-101 win over the Jazz. Frye scored a career-high 31 points in the contest on 12 of 16 shooting from the floor. He scored 19 in the first quarter on 7 of 7 shooting, five of them 3-pointers and didn't miss his first shot until right before halftime. Frye said assistant coach Igor Kokoskov had emphasized that he needs to do more of what he does best. "Igor kind of challenged me and said, 'We pay you to make shots,"' Frye said. "I said, 'All right,' so I went out there and just shot." Frye also grabbed 11 rebounds in the victory, recording his fourth double-double of the season. He is shooting 50 percent from behind the arc over his last five contests. Frye's previous career best was 30, which he set three times with the Knicks.
Analysis: Frye put on a show Tuesday by nailing 3-pointers from all over the place. He has now made nine over his last two contests and continues to lead all centers in 3-point shooting as we hit the All-Star break. The problem is he doesn't offer much help in the rebounding or blocks department, which continues to limit his Fantasy value. Consider him a a No. 2 Fantasy center heading into the second half of the season.
News: Phoenix center Channing Frye had 15 points and seven rebounds in the Suns' 113-108 loss to Sacramento on Sunday night. Frye, who scored just five points in his previous game, finished 6 for 11 from the field, including 3 of 6 from 3-point range. Frye has now drained multiple treys in five of his last seven outings and is 19 for 46 during that stretch. The 6-foot-11 center added two blocks while playing 33 minutes as Phoenix's three-game winning streak ended.
Analysis: Frye again displayed why he leads all NBA centers in 3-point shooting with another sterling performance Sunday. In three of his last four games, Frye has tallied at least three treys, highlighted by a solid five 3-pointers against Golden State on Feb. 7. Frye has netted a sterling 41.0 percent from 3-point range in February to increase his season average to 37.7 and maintain his team lead in total treys (103). Aside from his prowess from long range, he remains inconsistent elsewhere on the floor and should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy center.
News: Phoenix center Channing Frye tallied 19 points and 11 rebounds in the Suns' 104-92 victory over Golden State on Monday night. It was his fourth double-double of the season and second in his last three games. Frye connected on 7 of 14 shots from the field, including 5 of 9 from 3-point range, as he reached double figures for the fourth consecutive game. The 6-foot-11 center added two assists and a block for the fourth straight game. He now has five blocks in three games this month.
Analysis: Frye is finally starting to heat up in every area on the court and has been a huge boost for Phoenix, which has won four of its last five games. He has drained 8 of 20 attempts from 3-point range in his last three games and leads all NBA centers with a 37.1 shooting percentage from long range. Frye, like many Suns players, has struggled with consistency this season but could salvage his campaign with similar strong outings. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy center for now, but keep tabs on his progress.
News: The Phoenix Suns dominated Milwaukee for most of Wednesday night and center Channing Frye had his way with Andrew Bogut out. Frye shot 6 of 17 from the field and hit two 3-pointers as he scored 14 points. Without Bogut around to box him out, Frye registered 13 rebounds and added three blocked shots against the Bucks.
Analysis: Frye averages six rebounds per night and the 13 was an aberration as he played against smaller opponents on Wednesday and only had one double-digit rebounding game in all of January. Marcin Gortat has played extremely big for Phoenix recently and he's going to get most of the rebounds for the Suns on a nightly basis. Still, Frye is averaging 10.4 points, 7.4 boards, 1.4 blocks and has hit 12 3-pointers in his last five games. Playing this well, he can definitely see usage in a large contingent of Fantasy leagues.
News: After scoring just five points in his last outing, Phoenix C Channing Frye was able to do better on Sunday against New Orleans. He scored 11 points and hauled in eight rebounds in the 104-102 win. He wen 4 of 11 from the field, including 3 for 7 from downtown while playing 41 minutes. Frye also chipped in with three blocked shots, two assists and a steal in the victory.
Analysis: Frye has gone into a bit of a scoring slump recently as he is averaging just 9.2 points over his last five contests. He is contributing with 6.4 rebounds and one block over that span but is shooting just 31 percent from the floor and 31 percent from beyond the arc. Being a streaky shooter, the 27-year-old should break out of this lull at some point. But since he only plays two games during the upcoming scoring period (Milwaukee and Oklahoma City), Fantasy owners in larger formats might want to go with a better option. When going well, Frye is a solid source for points, 3-point shooting and low-end rebounds so hold onto him in the majority of leagues.
News: Phoenix forward Channing Frye lived beyond the arc in Friday's win over the Wizards. he spear-headed the team's third quarter rally by nailing four shots from deep in the period. Frye went on to make good on 7 of 11 attempts from three-point land on the evening, tying a career mark. He finished the night with 25 points, establishing a high for the 2010-2011 season. Frye added eight rebounds and an assist in 40 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Frye has been warming up from downtown in the last week, converting 11 of 22 attempts. Before that point, he failed to make more than two in a game over a four game stretch. Still, his point production has been solid over the last seven games overall, scoring at least 12 points in each contest. If he keeps up this type of play, Frye will be worth using in most Fantasy formats. He's a good source of 3-pointers, when he's on.
News: Phoenix forward Channing Frye has been hitting on all cylinders lately and he continued that play on Wednesday against Cleveland. Frye shot 4 for 11 from downtown in the contest -- 7 for 17 from the floor -- as he finished with 18 points. He added four boards, three assists and two steals in his 42 minutes of action. Frye and the Suns were able to hold off the Cavs, 106-98.
Analysis: Frye has been on a roll lately. Over his last five games he's averaging 16.0 points, 2.2 assists and 5.8 boards per contest. He's gone 11 for 27 from behind the 3-point arc over that span too. While he is a streaky shooter, it seems Frye is not only warming up but is back in the starting lineup. If he keeps up this type of play, Frye will be worth using in most Fantasy formats. He's a good source of 3-pointers, when he's on.
News: Phoenix C Channing Frye got hot on Wednesday as the Suns defeated the Nets in overtime. Frye went 2 for 3 from long range and shot 7 of 13 overall to score 21 points for Phoenix. He grabbed seven rebounds and added one steal and one block in the performance.
Analysis: Frye goes from hot to cold shooting in an instant as a big man who shoots threes. The 3-point shooting should be considered a bonus, however. Fantasy owners should concentrate on the fact that he's starting, dropping over 13 points per game over his last five contests and is adding 7.2 rebounds to that with a block. As long as Frye plays like this, he should be active in many Fantasy leagues.
News: Phoenix will start big men Channing Frye and Robin Lopez for at least the next 10 games, reports the Arizona Republic on Sunday. This comes according to coach Alvin Gentry. Frye and Lopez will join Steve Nash, Vince Carter and Grant Hill as starters with newcomers Marcin Gortat and Mickael Pietrus coming off the bench.
Analysis: Frye was expected to start getting some starts and now seems locked in for at least the entirety of Week 12 (Jan. 10-16). The Suns play three games in the scoring period and have a quasi-favorable schedule. Averaging 10.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and well over a 3-pointer per game on the year, Frye could see a boost and is worth using in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: It hadn't happened in three games, but Phoenix center Channing Frye finally hit a 3-pointer on Wednesday. As a matter of fact he would go 3 for 6 from behind the arc, missing his only two shots within the 3-point line. He finished with 10 points, three assists and three rebounds. In his three previous outings, Frye shot a combined 0 for 5 from downtown. Frye would also hit his lone foul shot in his 27 minutes of action. His contributions would come in a losing effort, however, as the Lakers would beat the Suns 99-95.
Analysis: Frye is still in the rotation, despite no longer starting. With Marcin Gortat in town, Frye's role is coming off the bench. But Robin Lopez hasn't been logging many minutes lately, despite starting. This is a situation for Fantasy owners to follow. Over his last five games, Frye is averaging 7.2 points, 1.4 assists and 3.6 boards per contest. Frye is a good source of 3-pointers in deeper category-based Fantasy leagues, but his value is not going to remain steady. Consider him a last-resort big man if you are plagued by injuries.
News: Phoenix C Channing Frye could not make up the scoring missed with Jason Richardson and Hedo Turkoglu playing for Orlando on Monday night. Playing in San Antonio, the Suns were beaten 118-110 and Frye went just 1 for 10 from the field to score three points. He played 30 minutes and shot 0 for 8 from 3-point range and added six rebounds and three assists. He blocked a shot as well.
Analysis: Frye can sometimes shoot poorly, but has gone just 3 for 21 from long range over his last three games. It seems like he's pressing a little right now and may want to consider going inside for some easier buckets. He's still hit 10 3-pointers over his last five games, however, and averages 8.2 rebounds over that span. He hit seven 3-pointers in a game not too long ago, but Frye is more of a middle of the road option in Fantasy.
News: Phoenix C Channing Frye had one of his better scoring nights on Wednesday to help the Suns snap a three-game losing streak. Frye scored 21 points on 7 of 17 shooting in the 128-122 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Frye took 12 3-pointers in the game and nailed seven of them as every field goal he hit was from deep. He added nine rebounds and two blocks in the performance. The seven 3-pointers tied his career high set against the Clippers last season.
Analysis: Frye is averaging around 11 points and six rebounds per game this season for the Suns over 31 minutes per night. That is what Fantasy owners should expect of him. He'd hit 39 3-pointers over 23 games entering Wednesday, so he can clearly fill it up from long range. That said, don't expect seven threes very often, if ever again this year. Frye had a great game and is viable in most Fantasy leagues due to his ability to hit threes as a center.
News: Phoenix center Channing Frye has been averaging 14.4 points and 6.2 rebounds over his last five games -- both over his season totals. He shot 50 percent from the field on Friday, but missed all three of his 3-pointers, finishing with 12 points. He grabbed seven rebounds for a third straight game. He added a steal and a block in his 35 minutes on the court, as the Suns lost to the Trail Blazers 101-94.
Analysis: In his last five outings, Frye has scored less than 10 points just once and shot the ball well across the board. He's missed just two foul shots and is hitting at 50 percent from the field. With Robin Lopez still sidelined with an injury, Frye has been getting some starts and is finally starting to produce. He's a good source of 3-pointers and is owned in just 81 percent of CBSSports.com Fantasy leagues. Consider him a No. 3 center while Lopez is out.
News: Suns center Channing Frye find his scoring stroke in Friday's 105-97 win over the Pacers. Frye scored a season-high 29 points in the win, with five 3-pointers. He made 11 of his 16 shots and blocked three shots and had two steals. Frye went 5 of 8 from downtown and also grabbed five rebounds in the contest.
Analysis: Frye has been seeing a boost in playing time with Robin Lopez sidelined with an injury. He's not a high-end Fantasy option, but is capable of putting up numbers like this from time to time. Frye is also a decent source of 3-pointers and Frye will continue to get playing time while Lopez is sidelined. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy center at this point.
News: According to the Arizona Republic, Suns C Channing Frye may continue to start even when Robin Lopez returns from a sprained knee. Coach Alvin Gentry is toying with the idea of starting both together.
Analysis: Frye is averaging 13.0 points and 6.2 rebounds as a starter compared to 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds as a reserve. He's not a high-end Fantasy option either way, but his 3-point shooting is rare for a center, making him an intriguing choice in Rotisserie leagues. Obviously, you'll have an easier time using him if he's starting, so keep an eye on how this situation unfolds.
News: Phoenix center Channing Frye, replacing the injured Robin Lopez (sprained knee) in the starting lineup, reached double digits for the seventh consecutive game, finishing with 16 points in the Suns' loss to Chicago on Wednesday. Frye benefiting from Steve Nash's game-high 16 assists, shot 6 of 14 from field, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Analysis: Frye, who logged 46 minutes in the double-overtime thriller, did block two shots in the third straight game for the Suns, who are allowing opponents 109.5 points per game -- the second-worst mark in the league. Frye will continue to get playing time while Lopez is sidelined and he represents a high-end No. 3 Fantasy center at this point. Just be sure to temper your expectations from the Phoenix big game.
News:Channing Frye started at center for Robin Lopez (out for a month with a sprained knee) for the second straight game in the Suns loss at Orlando on Thursday. He played just 26 minutes, managing only 10 points and six rebounds. After netting 20 points against the Lakers on Nov. 14, he has only averaged 13.0 points in three games since.
Analysis: We expected a slight adjustment period as Frye becomes an everyday starter for the injured Lopez. The 6-foot-11 center has contributed little lately in other categories besides points. On Thursday, he failed to record a block for the second game in a row and was held without a free-throw attempt. Still, in the high-scoring Suns offense, he merits an add if he is still available in your Fantasy league.
News: Suns C Channing Frye, who will likely start at center for Phoenix for as long as Robin Lopez is out, had another solid game on Monday against Denver. Frye scored 20 points and grabbed six boards with a block over 38 minutes on Sunday at Los Angeles and notched 15 points against the Nuggets. He added seven boards against Denver with a block and shot 6 of 11 from the field. He also hit two 3-pointers in the win over Denver.
Analysis: Frye is getting almost 32 minutes per game of late and is going to be starting for at least the next week-plus. He's proven he can score anywhere from 10-20 points and grab near double-digits in rebounds, with a block, when given this many minutes. Frye is going to see a nice Fantasy boost as long as Lopez is out and may continue to play when he returns if he keeps going this well.
News: Suns C Channing Frye had another unproductive performance in Wednesday's game against the Spurs. He played 23 minutes off the bench and was held to just three points, though he did bring down a season-high seven rebounds.
Analysis: Frye's playing time has been inconsistent off the bench and so has his production. Outside of one game, he has attempted no more than four shots in any contest and has not been featured much in the offense even as far as his specialty from downtown. Frye has offensive upside, but is just not being used consistently right now. He should only be stashed in deeper
News: Suns C Channing Frye struggled in Tuesday's season opener against the Blazers. Frye had just three points on 1 of 4 shooting and made his lone three-point attempt. He played in 20 minutes off the bench and added six rebounds, two assists and two blocks in the 106-92 loss.
Analysis: Frye preseason struggles may have followed him into the regular season as he was extremely unimpressive on Tuesday. The Suns will be counting on him to pick up some of the scoring and rebounding void created by the departure of Amar'e Stoudemire and he should see more than 20 minutes a game as the season progresses. He is an excellent source for threes and can be considered a quality reserve in most formats.
News: Suns C Channing Frye, who averaged just 2.0 points over his previous three preseason games, had a solid all-around performance in 23 minutes off the bench Wednesday against the Warriors. He finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, shooting 2 for 7 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Frye emerged as a handy player in Fantasy last season, becoming an elite contributor of 3-pointers even though he's eligible at center. He figures to come off the bench this season, which might affect his consistency, but his all-around production still makes him a worthwhile late-rounder in Rotisserie leagues.
News: Suns C Channing Frye played 17 minutes off the bench in Sunday's preseason game against the Raptors. He contributed just two points, two rebounds and two assists. He entered play averaging just 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in three preseason appearances.
Analysis: Frye missed some preseason time earlier, so he could be a bit behind in his conditioning. He developed into a solid 3-point shooter with Phoenix after rarely shooting from beyond the arc in four seasons with New York and Portland, leading the Suns with 173 his first season in the desert. There will be more chances for Frye to score and pick up rebounds this season with Amar'e Stoudemire out of town. He is a better option in Rotisserie Fantasy formats for his 3-point shot, and is worth owning as a reserve center in most formats.
News: Suns C Channing Frye did not play in either of his team's first two preseason games on Tuesday or Wednesday night. He was listed as 'NWT-Personal' in the official media report after the game. Frye was given a five-year extension this July.
Analysis: Frye's absence has not been addressed by the Suns, but we don't expect it to be anything of significance. Frye developed into a solid 3-point shooter with Phoenix after rarely shooting from beyond the arc in four seasons with New York and Portland, leading the Suns with 173 his first season in the desert. There will be more chances for Frye to score and pick up rebounds this season with Amar'e Stoudemire out of town. He is a better option in Rotisserie Fantasy formats for his 3-point shot, but he is no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy center in most leagues.
News: The Phoenix Suns signed center Channing Frye to a five-year deal. Terms were not disclosed, but Frye and the Suns agreed to a deal worth $30 million last week. The eighth overall pick out of Arizona in the 2005 draft, Frye averaged 11.2 points with the Suns and shot 43 percent from 3-point range.
Analysis: Frye developed into a solid 3-point shooter with Phoenix after rarely shooting from beyond the arc in four seasons with New York and Portland, leading the Suns with 173 his first season in the desert. There will be more chances for Frye to score and pick up rebounds this season with Amar'e Stoudemire out of town. He is a better option in Rotisserie Fantasy formats for his 3-point shot, but he is no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy center in most leagues.
News: The Suns agreed to contracts with forward Hakim Warrick and and center Channing Frye on Friday. The person told The Associated Press that Warrick agreed to a four-year, $18 million deal on Friday, shortly after Frye agreed to a five-year, $30 million offer to re-sign with Phoenix. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the contracts can't be signed until July 8.
Analysis: The smooth-shooting, 6-foot-11 Frye emerged as a major weapon in Phoenix's high-scoring offense after he signed a one-year contract with a player option for a second season. Rarely a 3-point shooter in his first four NBA seasons with the New York Knicks and Portland, the slim sharpshooter led the Suns with 172 3-pointers last season. That certainly elevated his Fantasy value as he averaged double figures in scoring (11.2) for the first time since 2005-06. If Amar'e Stoudemire doesn't return to Phoenix in 2010-11, there will be more chances for Frye to score and pick up rebounds. He is a better option in Rotisserie Fantasy formats for his 3-point shot, but he is no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy center in most leagues.
News: Suns C Channing Frye scored 20 points with eight rebounds and an assist in Monday's Game 5 win over Portland. He played 27 minutes off the bench. He is averaging 9.2 points with 6.6 rebounds in the series.
Analysis: Frye is not starting, but he's getting the chance to be the primary center with Robin Lopez out with a back injury. Fantasy owners got a pleasant surprise early this season when Frye got off to a very hot start in Alvin Gentry's high-flying offensive system. But the emergence of Robin Lopez later in the season as well as Frye's lack of size and defensive presence capped his Fantasy appeal. He'll be a No. 3 center in Fantasy again this fall due to the inconsistency.
News: According to The Arizona Republic, Suns F/C Robin Lopez is expected to meet with a back specialist Sunday in Phoenix to determine a course of action after learning Saturday that he has two bulging disks. Lopez will not play at all on the team's five-game road trip. The Suns will start Jarron Collins in Lopez's place.
Analysis: According to the report, this type of injury does not bode well for a regular-season return and maybe even a postseason return. Lopez earned his way into the starting lineup and was splitting the primary center role with Channing Frye. He had emerged as a viable No. 2 center in larger leagues, but now is a player to avoid. Collins will start, but will be mainly a placeholder in the starting lineup. Frye will have a chance to increase his Fantasy appeal in the final couple of weeks of the season, making him a viable No. 2 center.
News: Suns F/C Robin Lopez played just 13 minutes in Monday's game at Golden State. He finished with six points and six rebounds. Channing Frye played 18 minutes off the bench and managed 11 points with five rebounds.
Analysis: Lopez and Frye continue to split minutes at the center spot, causing both players to be highly inconsistent. Both players are capable of solid stat lines on any given night, but are just as likely (to turn in a clunker. View them as no more than Fantasy stopgaps.
News: Suns C Robin Lopez had four points and three rebounds in 17 minutes of action Sunday against Portland. He had scored 19 points with 10 rebounds in his previous game against Utah. Channing Frye plaued 31 minuets off the bench and had 10 rebounds, two blocks and six points.
Analysis: Lopez and Frye continue to be highly inconsistent, along with their playing time. The Cavaliers play the matchups with Frye and Lopez offering different things. Lopez offers size and Frye offers good perimeter play. Expect consistent inconsistency, but there will be enough out of Lopez to be useful as a low-end No. 2 center in most standard leagues. Frye's bench role has made him slightly more inconsistent, but there is stopgap appeal here.
News: Phoenix C Channing Frye returned to action Sunday against New Orleans after serving a one-game suspension for an altercation with Indiana last Saturday. Frye scored just two points on 1 of 4 shooting but did add five assists and two steals in 21 minutes.
Analysis: When healthy, Frye is very capable of getting into double figures. He is averaging 11.6 points on the season to go along with 5.2 rebounds. With the Suns playing three games during Fantasy Week 21 (March 15-21), Frye could make for a low-end Fantasy No. 2 center in some of the deeper leagues.
News: According to the team's official Web site, Suns C Channing Frye has been suspended for one game for an altercation that occurred during Saturday's game against Indiana. He will miss Friday's game against the Lakers and will be eligible to return Sunday against New Orleans.
Analysis: Frye was not activated in many leagues going into Fantasy Week 20 (March 8-14) anyway because the Suns played just two games. Despite coming off the bench, Frye retains appeal as a possible No. 2 center option in deeper leagues thanks to his three-point shooting and the ability to crack double figures on a pretty regular basis.
News: According to The Arizona Republic, Suns coach Alvin Gentry said after Monday's workout that he isn't optimistic about his chances of having Channing Frye available Friday when the Los Angeles Lakers visit US Airways Center. An NBA spokesman indicated the league still is reviewing an incident during Saturday's Suns-Indiana Pacers game. "It's really tough because he's the one guy who creates problems for them," Gentry said of adjustments that will be necessary if Frye is suspended.
Analysis: Frye was not a very appealing option for Fantasy Week 20 (March 8-14) due to the fact the Suns play just two games and one of them comes against the stingy Lakers. This news just adds to his poor Fantasy appeal in the short term. In the long-term, he still has enough offensive upside to be considered a No. 2 center based upon matchups.
News: Suns C Channing Frye had three points with three rebounds and two assists Thursday night against Utah. He played 16 minutes off the bench before fouling out. It snapped a string of five straight games in double figures. He had scored 23 points in his previous game against the Clippers.
Analysis: Frye had been finding ways to produce useful totals even with limited playing time. He is only getting around 20-25 minutes per game with Robin Lopez entrenching himself as the primary center for Phoenix, but Frye can do enough with his perimeter shooting to score in double figures on a regular basis and he can still be used as a No. 2 center in a pinch. He is averaging 13.6 points in his last five games.
News: Suns C Channing Frye was able to score 23 points with three steals, a rebound and an assist in Wednesday's game against Phoenix. He is averaging 15.8 points over his last five games.
Analysis: Frye is finding a way to produce useful totals with limited playing time. He is only getting around 20-25 minutes per game with Robin Lopez entrenching himself as the primary center for Phoenix, but Frye can do enough with his perimeter shooting to score in double figures on a regular basis and he can still be used as a No. 2 center in a pinch.
News: Suns C Channing Frye had 16 points with five rebounds and an assist in Monday's game against Denver. He also added a block, playing 32 minutes off the bench. It was his fourth straight game in double figures.
News: Suns C Channing Frye had 11 points with four rebounds and two assists in Sunday's game against San Antonio. He shot 3 of 4 from the field. It was his third straight double-digit performance.
Analysis: Frye is finding a way to produce useful totals with limited playing time. He is only getting around 20-25 minutes per game with Robin Lopez entrenching himself as the primary center for Phoenix, but Frye can do enough with his perimeter shooting to score in double figures on ar egular basis and he can still be used as a No. 2 center in a pinch.
News: Suns C Channing Frye had been struggling with his shot. Before Friday night against the Clippers, that is. Frye scored 15 points in 22 minutes against L.A. on Friday night and hit on 6 of 8 from the field, including 3 for 4 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Frye has scored in double figures in four of his last five games to average 11 PPG over that span. He'd been shooting poorly and is still just 42 percent from the field over that span despite Friday's nice effort. Still, he's hit five 3-pointers in his last two games and is shooting his way out of the slump. The Suns have a very favorable schedule in Week 19 (March 1-7) which might dictate Frye as being a solid one-week Fantasy play in most 12-team and deeper leagues.
News: Suns C Channing Frye's shooting woes continued Wednesday against the 76ers, a game in which he made only 5 of 14 shots, 2 of 7 from downtown. In 20 minutes, he finished with 14 points, three rebounds and one steal.
Analysis: Frye's minutes are down to a season-low 20.7 a game in February, and so is his shooting. He's averaging just .393 from the field in 10 games this month, .258 from 3-point range. His value has slipped to that of a No. 3 Fantasy center.
News: Suns C Channing Frye continues to contribute despite playing reduced minutes heading into the All-Star break. Frye averaged a season-high 33 minutes a game in December, in which he averaged 12.9 points and 6.3 rebounds a game. Through four February games his minutes were down to 24.3 a game, but his numbers didn't take as big a dip as you might expect -- he still managed 11.8 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Analysis: With Robin Lopez currently starting in the pivot for Phoenix, Frye is nothing more than a No. 2 Fantasy center. However, if Amare Stoudemire is moved prior to the trading deadline this week, which has been rumored, Frye could take his place in the first unit and see an increase in both minutes and production. The Suns do play four games in Fantasy week 17 (Feb. 15-21) so even if Stoudemire stays put Frye isn't a bad play.
News: Phoenix C Channing Frye scored 20 points to help guide the Suns to a 109-101 victory over New Orleans on Monday. In 25 minutes, Frye finished the game shooting 8 of 14 including three 3-pointers in the second quarter. He also added six rebounds in the win.
Analysis: Frye has been playing some of his better ball over the last five games averaging 15 points and scoring 20-plus points in three of the five contests. Unfortunately his consistency is an issue and he scored just seven points twice during that span. With Robin Lopez as the starting center for Phoenix, look for Frye to remain with inconsistent numbers making him a No. 2 Fantasy center.
News: Suns C Channing Frye scored 20 against the Bobcats on Tuesday, his second straight game with at least 20 points. He sunk four 3-pointers, to go along with five rebounds, one assist and two blocks.
Analysis: Frye has responded well to losing his spot in the Suns' starting lineup to Robin Lopez. In his last five games he's averaging 13.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 blocks. He also has value as a 3-point shooter, draining them at a .433 clip in the month of January. He has value as a No. 2 Fantasy center.
News: Phoenix C Channing Frye had a nice game on Monday in a loss at Utah. Frye played 28 minutes and shot 8 for 15 from the field with five threes to score 21 points. Frye added three boards and two steals and a block.
Analysis: Frye is stroking it from beyond the arc of late with 11 threes in his last three games. He's seen a boost in minutes over that span of games and is averaging 15 PPG over them with five boards and two blocks. Frye is playing his way to an increase in minutes on the court and that should get him active in most deeper formats right now.
News: Suns coach Alvin Gentry is considering starting Robin Lopez at center for the first time this season in place of Channing Frye, according to The Arizona Republic. The Suns play Memphis Monday afternoon.
Analysis: Frye has been producing poor numbers recently, averaging just 7.0 points and 4.8 rebounds over the last five games while second-year player Robin Lopez -- the the twin brother of Nets center Brook Lopez -- has put up a couple of decent (but not great) stat lines. This change could just be a minor shake up and not a long-term deal as Frye is still the better player of the two, but this news makes Frye somebody to consider reserving despite what appears to be very favorable matchups for Week 13 (Jan. 18-24).
News: Suns C Channing Frye had four points and five rebounds Monday's game, snapping a string of three very solid games in a row. He shot 0 for 5 from the field.
Analysis: Frye had scored at least 15 points in his three previous games and really just had a bad night against the Bucks. Don't get too alarmed. He's emerged as a reliable No. 2 center in most standard leagues this season and should get back on track.
News: Suns center Channing Frye had 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals Tuesday night at Sacramento. He made 2 of 3 three-pointers and is playing at a high level of late. In his past five games, Frye is averaging 14.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.4 assists. He also has made 11 three-pointers over that span.
Analysis: Frye continues to have a breakout season as the starting center for the Suns. Keep him active in all leagues as long as he continues to play at this level.
News: Phoenix C Channing Frye went off from deep on Wednesday in a win over Boston. Frye scored a season-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while nailing 6 of 10 from three-point range. He shot 9 of 15 overall and blocked two shots.
Analysis: Frye is averaging 16.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and almost three threes per game over his last five contests. That is just about as hot as he's ever been in the NBA. He has double-digit rebounds in his last two games and has eight threes among them as he sees an increase in minutes due to his hot play. Frye has center eligibility and looks like a must-add across the board right now.
News: Suns C Channing Frye scored 24 points in Wednesday's loss to the Thunder.
Analysis: Frye is an inconsistent scorer and doesn't get many rebounds for a big man, but he does enough of both to serve as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy center, especially since he's one of the few who can hit a three.
News: Suns C Channing Frye, who scored five points or less in four of his first six December games, had 15 points to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals Tuesday against the Spurs. He also hit three 3-pointers.
Analysis: Frye is an inconsistent scorer and doesn't get many rebounds for a big man, but he does enough of both to serve as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy center, especially since he's one of the few who can hit a three.
News: Suns C Channing Frye scored just two points in 31 minutes Tuesday at Dallas, though he did have nine rebounds and three assists. He has scored less than 10 points in four of his last seven games, averaging 10.3 points during that stretch.
Analysis: Frye isn't the most consistent Fantasy option, but his 12 points and six rebounds per game are good enough to make him a No. 2 Fantasy center, especially since he hits 3-pointers.
News: Suns C Channing Frye equaled a season low with five points Tuesday at New York. He also had five rebounds. He has now scored less than 10 points in two of his last three games after scoring at least 10 in eight of his previous nine.
Analysis: Frye has scored 20 points only twice this season, so you shouldn't expect big numbers from him. But he's fairly consistent and shoots far more 3-pointers than the average center. He's worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy option.
News: Suns C Channing Frye had 11 points and 10 rebounds Thursday at New Orleans, giving him only his second double-double of the season. He also had two blocks and two assists, but he shot just 4 for 15 from the field, including 1 for 7 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Frye hits more threes than the average big man, but he rarely scores more than a dozen points per game and isn't much of a rebounder. He's a No. 2 Fantasy center at best.
News: Suns C Channing Frye had 18 points and 10 rebounds in Sunday's game at Washington. It was his first double-double of the season.
Analysis: Frye has had three big games this season, but they have been sporadic and Fantasy owners can't rely on him for consistency just yet. The Suns do have a favorable four-game slate in the upcoming scoring period, which makes him an advisable start.
News: Suns F/C Channing Frye, who is replacing Shaquille O'Neal in the starting lineup this season, scored a season-low nine points Tuesday at Miami. It was by far his worst game of the season. He's averaging 17.0 points and 4.8 rebounds in four games.
Analysis: Frye has emerged as one of the better early-season sleepers in Fantasy, offering all the numbers you'd expect for a big man, as well as some 3-pointers. He deserves a flier in all Fantasy leagues as a No. 2 center.
News: The Suns started newly acquired big man Channing Frye at center in the team's preseason game against Serbian team Partizan Belgrade. He scored 10 points with three rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Early signs seem to indicate that the Suns will go with Frye at center and will keep Amar'e Stoudemire at power forward -- at least to begin the year. Frye is a former Arizona Wildcat who has had an unproductive NBA career, but he did average 12.3 points and 5.7 rebounds as a rookie playing for the Knicks and could be expected to have a resurgent season this year.
News:Channing Frye was introduced as the newest member of the Phoenix Suns Tuesday after signing a two-year deal with the second year being a player option. "Just having an opportunity to play here, I take a lot of pride in this Suns uniform," said Frye, who will wear No. 8. "Probably more than any other team I've played for, this is that home team."
Analysis: The 26-year-old Frye said he chose the Suns over Cleveland, Denver and Washington. That was a business decision, but there also may have been some emotion involved. Frye's signing comes after the club unloaded center Shaquille O'Neal and his $20 million contract in a trade with Cleveland. The lighter Frye is a very different player than the lumbering O'Neal, who wasn't a good fit with the uptempo Suns. Frye could revive some of his dormant Fantasy appeal in Phoenix, but won't be much more than a late-round flier pick in Fantasy drafts.
News: The Phoenix Suns have reached a contract agreement with free-agent center Channing Frye. The team scheduled a news conference Tuesday to introduce the former University of Arizona star. Frye agreed to a two-year contract with the second year at his option. He will earn about $2 million next season.
Analysis: The 6-foot-11 Frye is entering his fifth NBA season. He has averaged 8.2 points per game in two seasons with the New York Knicks and the last two with the Portland Trail Blazers. He averaged just 4.2 points last season. As a senior, Frye averaged 15.8 points and 7.6 rebounds in 2004-05 for an Arizona team that came within one game of making it to the Final Four. The Suns won't get the college-era Frye but they will get a guy who can grab some rebounds now that Shaq has departed. Still, he's a low-end Fantasy talent best left for the deepest of leagues.
News: Blazers C Channing Frye had 15 points and seven rebounds in Wednesday's game in San Antonio. He had not scored in double figures since Nov. 26.
Analysis: Frye has been getting some decent playing time in the last five games, but that is only because Greg Oden has been sidelined. This isn't going to last and Fantasy owners should not get overly excited.
News: Portland forward Ike Diogu moved into the Blazers' regular 10-man rotation Thursday, replacing Channing Frye. Diogu played only 36 minutes in Portland's first 26 games.
Analysis: Diogu played just seven minutes on Thursday, so it isn't like he is all of a sudden a productive player for Portland. Leave him on the waiver wire in all leagues until that changes. And what does that tell you about Frye?
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Blazers F Martell Webster made his first appearance of the season in Sunday's game against Toronto. Webster's appearance meant that F Channing Frye was knocked from the rotation. It was Frye's first DNP-CD (did not play/coach's decision) of the season.
Analysis: Frye has fallen off the Fantasy map in Portland. Leave him on waivers unless he starts scoring in double figures consistently, which doesn't figure to happen now.
News: Trail Blazers C Channing Frye scored a season-high 17 points in 24 minutes off the bench Wednesday against the Heat. He shot 7-for-11, including 2-for-3 from 3-point range, and also had three rebounds.
Analysis: Frye doesn't often hit threes. In fact, he already has a career-high five this season. He has fallen off the Fantasy map in Portland, and this one performance won't do enough to salvage his appeal. Leave him on waivers unless he start scoring in double figures consistently.
News: Portland C Channing Frye is the biggest victim of Greg Oden's return to the Blazers. Frye failed to score in 11 minutes in Saturday's game against Minnesota. He's played 11 minutes or less in all three games since Oden came back and he's averaging just three points and less than two rebounds in those games.
Analysis: Frye is barely worth owning with Oden injured. With Oden healthy and playing, Frye will get minimal minutes and is not worth having anywhere near your Fantasy roster.
News: Portland C Channing Frye came off the bench on Wednesday against the Clippers and scored six points. He also grabbed five rebounds and had two blocks.
Analysis: The 6-foot-11 Frye averaged 6.8 points in 78 games last season. He's expected to again be a key reserve, backing up power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. Forward Ike Diogu, the ninth pick of the 2005 draft, was acquired by the Trail Blazers this summer, and could see additional time in Frye's absence. Frye is actually a pretty decent young forward, but he doesn't get the minutes needed to produce significantly on a consistent basis. He didn't play much in 2007-08 and that was without Greg Oden around. In 2008-09, he should once again be a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Portland Trail Blazers forward Channing Frye will likely miss the start of the regular season after having surgery to remove bone spurs from his left ankle. The arthroscopic surgery was performed Monday in Southern California, and the team said he is expected to miss 8-to-10 weeks.
Analysis: The Trail Blazers open their season Oct. 28. The 6-foot-11 Frye averaged 6.8 points in 78 games last season.
News: For the third straight season to begin his NBA career, Channing Frye's numbers declined in 2007-08. He averaged just 6.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in his first season in Portland after averaging 9.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in his last season with the Knicks.
Analysis: Frye is actually a pretty decent young forward, but he doesn't get the minutes needed to produce significantly on a consistent basis. He didn't play much in 2007-08 and that was without Greg Oden around. In 2008-09, he should once again be a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Portland forward Channing Frye went for 22 points, 11 rebounds and two assists Tuesday against the Lakers. Frye started at center with Joel Przybilla (hand) out.
Analysis: Look for Frye to finish the season strong. If you need help at forward, he should be available in most leagues.
News: With C Joel Przybilla sidelined for the rest of the season with a broken hand, the Blazers will have to look to Raef LaFrentz, who was averaging about seven minutes per game, and 6-foot-11 Channing Frye to fill his place in the lineup. Coach Nate McMillan suggested the team might play forward Travis Outlaw at the position as well.
Analysis: Of the three, Outlaw is the only one with any real Fantasy appeal, though Frye could become relevant for the season's final scoring period if he plays starter's minutes. He'd probably be too risky to start for your league's playoffs, though. Outlaw had 14 points and three rebounds Sunday against the Spurs and has averaged 19.3 points over his last four games. Keep him active as a No. 3 Fantasy forward for sure.
News: Portland forward Channing Frye went for 11 points and five rebounds Tuesday against the Suns.
Analysis: Frye has been a disappointment thus far this season. He should only be considered a low-end Fantasy option at this time.
News: Blazers F Channing Frye had no points, rebounds or assists while playing just 2 minutes in Thursday's game against Seattle.
Analysis: Frye has turned into an afterthought in the Portland rotation and is not currently in a situation to contribute significant statistics. Until that changes, leave him on the waiver wire in Fantasy.
News: Trailblazers PF Channing Frye scored 14 points off the bench Saturday at Indiana -- his most in six games. He also had five rebounds.
Analysis: The Blazers rarely use Frye for more than 15 minutes per game, and his scoring remains in single digits as a result. Leave him in waivers in all but the deepest of leagues.
News: Blazers F/C Channing Frye had nine points and five rebounds Friday against the Rockets. He has now scored nine points in two of his last three games.
Analysis: Frye had zero points the one game in between, so don't get too excited. His scoring has hit rock bottom in January, currently sitting at 4.6 points per game. He doesn't deserve a roster spot in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Blazers F Channing Frye F/C Channing Frye had 16 points with seven rebounds in Sunday's double overtime loss at Toronto. He played 24 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Frye saw added playing time with the two extra sessions, but he has been an irregular part of the rotation of late. He's too unreliable to trust in Fantasy leagues right now.
News: Blazers PF Channing Frye scored just four points in 18 minutes of play during an overtime win at Chicago. He added just four rebounds and a block.
Analysis: Frye has scored in double figures in back-to-back games just once this season and he's only brought down 10 rebounds in a game once. Despite the fact that he occasionally gets starts for the Blazers at either power forward or center, he's not very useful in Fantasy.
News: Blazers reserve PF Channing Frye scored 10 points in the Blazers' 97-89 win over the Jazz on Tuesday night. He now has two double-digit scoring games in 18 outings this season and is finally center eligible after making 10 starts at the position.
Analysis: Frye is a little more of an attractive Fantasy option now that he has dual eligibility at power forward and center, but he only averages 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds a game. Still, LaMarcus Aldridge could be out for a while, which means Frye will clearly get some extra minutes in Portland. Keep an eye on his playing time over the next week or so and grab him if you need help at either of his eligible positions.
News: Trail Blazers F Channing Frye got his eighth start at center Monday at Charlotte, finishing with nine points and eight rebounds
Analysis: Frye is just two more starts at center away from gaining eligibility in CBSSports.com leagues that use multiple positions. The team seems set at starting Frye at the five with LaMarcus Aldridge moving back to the power forward slot for now, so Frye should get those starts.
News: Portland PF Channing Frye started his fourth game in a row at center in place of Joel Przybilla on Tuesday night and tallied six points and four rebounds in 19 minutes.
Analysis: It only really matters to us Fantasy folk for eligibility reasons that Frye is starting over Przybilla at center for Portland, because both are pretty much splitting time at the position for the Blazers. Once Frye become eligible at the center position, his Fantasy value will rise slightly, but not a ridiculous amount.
News: Blazers F Channing Frye got his first start of the season at center Wednesday vs. New Orleans, scoring eight points off 4-for-8 shooting with seven rebounds.
Analysis: Frye got the start over Joel Przybilla at center, but both players saw 21 minutes of action. Frye is the better offensive player of the two with Przybilla being the better rebounder. The team is still trying to figure out what to do at center and they've tried LaMarcus Aldridge, Przybilla and now Frye at the position, so this is by no means a lock for Frye. Still, if he were to get nine more starts at the position, he'd gain valuable center eligibility.
News: Blazers PF Channing Frye didn't exactly make the most of his nine minutes off the bench in the season opener Tuesday at San Antonio. He missed three field goals, finishing with zero points to go along with two rebounds.
Analysis: The Blazers elected to start Joel Przybilla at center and LaMarcus Aldridge at power forward in the opener, meaning Frye came off the bench. He averaged 11.7 ppg in the preseason, so he probably won't get shut out too often, but playing only nine minutes doesn't bode well for his Fantasy value in the near future. If you drafted him as a No. 3 forward expecting him to start, time to look into Plan B.
News: Blazers PF Channing Frye scored 18 points with three rebounds and two assists in Sunday's preseason contest at Sacramento before fouling out.
Analysis: Frye may or may not start this season. It depends on if the Blazers choose to move LaMarcus Aldridge to the center spot and start Frye at the four with Joel Przybilla sliding from center to the bench. The Blazers could conceivably have a different lineup almost every night with this combination. In any scenario, Frye is the more offensive player and is a better forward option in Fantasy play than Przybilla. Draft him in the later rounds as a solid in-season stopgap.
News: Channing Frye scored 14 points and six rebounds in Sunday's preseason game at Atlanta and Joel Przybilla had 12 rebounds.
News: Blazers PF Channing Frye scored 11 points with six rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench during Friday's preseason game at Denver.
News: Greg Oden, the top pick in this year's NBA draft, likely will miss his first season with the Portland Trail Blazers after surgery on his right knee Thursday. He is expected to miss his rookie season as a result.
Analysis: Head coach Nate McMillan said in a press conference Thursday that he expects to use Channing Frye at the power forward slot with LaMarcus Aldridge possibly playing some at center. The extra playing time for Frye makes him a sleeper to take in the middle rounds as a No. 3 forward option. He's a solid young talent that can score and rebound.
News: The Knicks sent Channing Frye to Portland as part of the deal to acquire Zach Randolph. Frye, the eighth pick in the 2005 draft, was a first-team All-Rookie selection, but tailed off last season. He averaged only 9.5 points while frequently settling for outside shots instead of using his 6-foot-11 body in the post. Knicks coach and president of basketball operations Isiah Thomas had refused to include Frye in potential trade packages the first year, but his contract and age made him one of the Knicks' best assets to include in any deal.
Analysis: Frye will be a reserve for the Trail Blazers next year. He was a disappointment in 2006-07 and will be a Fantasy reserve forward in 2007-08.
News: Knicks F Channing Frye is struggling to step up when the Knicks most need a scoring boost. He's averaging 12 points on 49.7 percent shooting in wins and 8.4 points on 39.4 percent shooting in losses.
Analysis: It is clear that he's a big part of the Knicks winning, but also the losses. Fantasy GMs should still consider him a No. 2 Fantasy center or a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy forward, but some added consistency would really increase his value.
News: Knicks C Channing Frye (eye) returned to the team's lineup Thursday against the Trail Blazers. He had 10 points, six rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes.
Analysis: It appears safe to get Frye back into active Fantasy lineups. When healthy, he is a low-end Fantasy center.
News: Channing Frye missed most of the second half of Tuesday's game against the Mavericks after getting poked in the right eye. He finished with seven points and two boards in 20 minutes.
Analysis: Frye is considered day to day. He'll have a full day off to recover before the nicked up Knicks host the Blazers on Thursday at MSG.
News: Knicks forward Channing Frye is shooting with confidence again. He went 10-for-15 from the field Sunday against Toronto and finished with 20 points for the second consecutive game.
Analysis: Frye is playing well since David Lee went down and is worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy option, as long as Lee remains out.
News: Forward Channing Frye was back in the starting lineup on Friday against the Hornets and finished with 20 points and seven rebounds. It was his first 20-point effort since Dec. 27.
Analysis: Frye was supposed to have been a starter the rest of the way, but was benched to some struggles from the field. Perhaps that was exactly what he needed to get going again. Get him back in your lineup as a No. 2 or 3 Fantasy forward once again.
News: Knicks forwards Channing Frye and Jared Jeffries are not playing well with David Lee (ankle) out. In the six games Lee has missed (the last three as the starting power forward), Frye has averaged just 7.7 points on 20-for-46 shooting. Jeffries, meanwhile, has averaged six points on 18-for-29 shooting over those same six games (four as the starting small forward) -- and that includes an 8-for-9, 16-point performance in Boston. He's also a horrific 36.4 percent from the foul line.
Analysis: Frye and Jeffries should only be used in deep Fantasy leagues at this time. They are not playing well enough to help your team.
News: Knicks forward Channing Frye is constantly reminded that he's not made an impression on some of the fans. "People call me Jared (Jeffries) all the time," he said. "That really happens," Frye added. "I was in Best Buy and some people were like, 'Yo, Jared. We love your game.' I'm like, 'No. I was here last year.'"
Analysis: Frye had five points and four rebounds Tuesday against Seattle. He has been a disappointment this season, which is why fans don't recognize him. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option at this time.
News: Channing Frye is again the Knicks' starting power forward and apparently will remain there, according to the New York Times. "I like the look of it," head coach Isiah Thomas said Saturday. "It gives us a little bit more of punch at the start of the game."
Analysis: The Knicks need Frye's shooting ability to offset the loss of Jamal Crawford and to compensate for Jared Jeffries, who is not a scorer. Thomas started Jerome James for 10 games, then used Malik Rose for one game before reinstating Frye on Friday. He had a great run in December when he averaged 15.4 ppg and 6.6 rpg, but for the most part will be good for low-end double digit scoring and about five boards.
News: Forward Channing Frye went 7-for-13 against the Nets on Sunday and finished with 15 points. It was his most productive game since a 16-point effort on Jan. 24 against Phoenix.
Analysis: He had a great run in December when he averaged 15.4 ppg and 6.6 rpg, but for the most part will be good for low-end double digit scoring and about five boards. If those numbers appeal to you, then you can consider him a viable Fantasy starter.
News: Knicks F/C Channing Frye is averaging 10.2 ppg and 5.4 rpg heading into the All-Star break.
Analysis: He had a great run in December when he averaged 15.4 ppg and 6.6 rpg, but for the most part will be good for low-end double digit scoring and about five boards. If those numbers appeal to you, then you can consider him a viable Fantasy starter.
News: Knicks forward Channing Frye had 14 points and seven rebounds Tuesday against the Lakers. He played 30 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Consider Frye a low-end No. 3 forward at the time. He has been very inconsistent this season.
News: Knicks forward Channing Frye was supposedly moved to the bench so he could take advantage of a developing post game. He made three shots against the Clippers on Tuesday, all of them jumpers.
Analysis: Frye has minimal Fantasy value at this time, especially coming off the bench. Keep him reserved in all formats.
News: Knicks forward Channing Frye had six points, three rebounds and two assists Tuesday against the Clippers.
Analysis: Frye played 21 minutes off the bench. He has minimal Fantasy value at this time.
News: According to the New York Post, the Knicks will continue to experiment with Jerome James at power forward in place of Channing Frye.
Analysis: Isiah Thomas believes he'll get more defense in the paint in order to cover for Eddy Curry's lack of presence in that area. Frye will come off the bench to provide the offense and will still be more of a Fantasy option than James will be. Frye should be considered a No. 4 Fantasy option while James may pick up some value as a No. 2 center.
News: Knicks C Channing Frye had just four points and two rebounds in a loss to the Bucks Sunday.
Analysis: Frye's play this season had been up and down. He still does enough to use as a No. 4 Fantasy forward in leagues of 10-plus teams, but expect some inconsistency from him.
News: Knicks F Channing Frye did not score any points in just under 14 minutes on the floor Monday at Miami. He missed both of his shots from the field.
Analysis: Frye's play this season had been up and down. He still does enough to use as a No. 4 Fantasy forward in leagues of 10-plus teams, but expect some inconsistency from him. The Knicks chose to go with David Lee through most of the game on Monday.
News: Eddy Curry averaged 9.2 rebounds over the previous five games, but he collected just one against Indiana on Saturday before fouling out with 26 points.
Analysis: Curry may have another tough time of it on Monday if Shaquille O'Neal is able to make his return to the lineup. We still think of him as a must-start Fantasy center this week, though.
News: Channing Frye obviously couldn't handle Jermaine O'Neal on Saturday. He picked up six fouls in less than 11 minutes and left Saturday's game with a mere six points.
Analysis: Frye's play this season had been up and down. He still does enough to use as a No. 4 Fantasy forward in leagues of 10-plus teams, but expect some inconsistency from him.
News: Knicks F Channing Frye scored 10 points in the first four minutes against Charlotte on Friday. He only scored two more points the rest of the way. He also had eight rebounds in the loss.
Analysis: Frye's play this season had been up and down. He still does enough to use as a No. 4 Fantasy forward in leagues of 10-plus teams, but expect some inconsistency from him.
News: Knicks C Channing Frye scored 17 points and brought down eight boards Wednesday vs. Philadelphia. He shot 8-for-10 from the floor.
Analysis: That broke a string of three games with less than 10 points. With the logjam of forwards on the Knicks roster, Frye has been up and down. He still does enough to use as a No. 4 Fantasy forward in leagues of 10-plus teams.
News: Knicks C Channing Frye scored 26 points in Wednesday's triple-overtime win vs. Detroit.
Analysis: Frye was able to hit a big shot for the Knicks that sent the game into a third overtime period. This is a good sign considering that he outplayed both Jared Jeffries and David Lee, whom he'll be battling with for shot attempts and minutes all season.
News: Forward Channing Frye returned to the starting lineup Saturday for the Knicks against the Nuggets. Frye missed 10 games after spraining his left ankle in a loss to Chicago on Nov. 25.
Analysis: The second-year player from Arizona had just been finding his groove after a slow start, scoring in double figures in three straight games before he was injured. With Jared Jeffries and David Lee in the mix, Frye may find it difficult to establish himself upon his return. Look to see how he fits in before slotting him in your active lineup. Frye is usually a solid No. 2 Fantasy center when healthy.
News: Knicks F Channing Frye is expected to be re-evaluated on Saturday before the Nuggets game. If his sprained left ankle is deemed medically sound, he's expected to play Saturday or Monday.
Analysis: With Jared Jeffries and David Lee in the mix, Frye may find it difficult to establish himself upon his return. Look to see how he fits in before slotting him in your active lineup.
News: Ten players, including NBA scoring leader Carmelo Anthony, were ejected for fighting during a wild brawl near the end of Saturday night's game between the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks. All 10 players on the court at the time were tossed for their involvement in the ugly incident that spread across the court and spilled into the crowd at Madison Square Garden. Denver led 119-100 when Knicks guard Mardy Collins grabbed Denver's J.R. Smith around the neck as Smith was going in for a breakaway layup. Smith got up and jawed with Collins, and New York's Nate Robinson jumped in to yell at Smith. Anthony rushed in and pushed Robinson in the neck, triggering the roughest moment, when Robinson and Smith went flying into the stands while fighting with each other. Anthony also appeared to throw a punch at Collins, and then backed away toward the center of the court. New York's Jared Jeffries ran from the baseline toward Anthony, but was tackled by a Denver player. The brawl stretched to the other end of the court toward the Nuggets' bench before coaches and security finally pulled Smith away and restored order.
Analysis: Anthony scored 34 points before the melee took place with 1:15 left in the Nuggets' 123-100 victory over the Knicks. He will likely face a suspension from the NBA for his involvment in the brawl. It is also likely the other nine players involved with faces suspensions and possible fines. Marcus Camby, Andre Miller, Eduardo Najera, Smith and Anthony were the Nuggets who were ejected; Channing Frye, David Lee, Collins, Robinson and Jeffries were the Knicks who were kicked out. NBA spokesman Tim Frank said the league would "review the incident in its entirety. Until then, it would not be appropriate to comment." Keep all the players involved, including Anthony, in your Fantasy lineup, just be ready in the coming weeks to possibly be without them for a few games.

Analysis: Fantasy owners in leagues of 10 or more teams should hang on to Frye if at all possible as he makes a decent No. 3 or 4 Fantasy forward when healthy or a decent No. 2 center in most leagues as well. The emergence of David Lee and the fact that Jared Jeffries is back and healthy could limit Frye's chances a bit.

News: Knicks forward Channing Frye left New York's game against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night in the second quarter with a sprained left ankle. Frye grimaced in pain and was helped off the court by his teammates. X-rays were negative, but Frye did not return to play.
Analysis: Frye had scored in double-figures three straight games heading into Saturday and has been becoming more active on the court. Consider him day-to-day at this point. The Knicks play four games during the next Fantasy scoring period (Nov. 27-Dec.3), so take that into consideration before taking Frye out of your lineup.

He entered averaging only 3.4 points on 22 percent shooting. Frye hadn't even attempted a free throw through the first seven games. Consider the struggling big men decent options as a No. 2 center.
News: The starting frontline hasn't exactly given the Knicks much of a presence in the post during this road trip. Eddy Curry and Channing Frye are a combined 6-for-28 from the field. They've managed just 17 points and 16 rebounds between them in the two games.

The struggling sophomore went 1-for-4 in 13 minutes against Houston, and was replaced in the second half starting lineup by Kelvin Cato. Curry was in foul trouble again in Houston, and finished with just seven points and five rebounds. In the last two games, he's totaled just 11 points and seven rebounds in 35 minutes. Consider him a nice option in leagues of 12-plus teams despite the slow start.

"After the first 15 to 20 games, I'll have a better feel for who plays better with who and at what points and times can they play with each other," Thomas said.
