(4/12/2015) Suns guard Gerald Green played through back spasms Sunday to score a game-high 23 points off the bench in the Suns' 107-91 loss to the Spurs.

Green shot eight of 16 from the floor and grabbed four rebounds in the loss.


Reggie Bullock, Marcus Thornton out Sunday for Suns, Gerald Green in

(4/12/2015) The Suns have announced that guards Reggie Bullock (concussion) and Marcus Thornton (ankle) are out for Sunday in San Antonio while guard Gerald Green (back) is a go, reports the Arizona Republic.

Bullock suffered his concussion in Friday's loss to the Pelicans and Thornton has been out since April 8.

Green had left Friday's game with back spasms.

(4/11/2015) Suns guard Gerald Green left Friday's loss to the Pelicans due to back spasms, Reuters reports.

One game after dropping 30 points on Mavericks in 30 minutes, Green managed to play just 12 minutes Friday, scoring five points. He has averaged 11.7 points and 2.5 rebounds in 72 games.

Green went 10 of 19 from the field and made 5 of 10 three-point attempts. He made all five of his free-throw attempts. Green had two rebounds and two assists as well. Green's 30 points marked a season-high for him.

Green also pulled down two rebounds and dished out one assist in the contest. It was his third game scoring in double figures in his last four games. It was his highest scoring game since late November.


Suns G Brandon Knight to start Monday against Celtics

(2/23/2015) Suns guard Brandon Knight will earn his first start with his new team on Monday night, according to Arizona radio station 98.7 FM.

Knight came off the bench in his Suns debut on Saturday, a 112-107 loss to the Bulls. Knight posted 13 points and five assists in 25 minutes. It was his first game with the Suns following the Bucks trading him to Phoenix.

With Knight entering the starting lineup, Gerald Green will head to the bench.

The Suns take on the Celtics Monday night at 9 p.m. ET.


Report: Clippers trying to use Crawford to land first-round pick

(2/17/2015) The Clippers have "probed the market" with shooting guard Jamal Crawford in an attempt to land a first-round pick to then swap for a wing player, Yahoo! Sports reports.

If successful, the Clippers would use the pick to make a competitive offer for Nuggets wing players Wilson Chandler or Arron Afflalo, per the report. The Clippers also continue to have an interest in Suns shooting guard Gerald Green. The Clippers also scouted Hornets shooting guard Lance Stephenson but decided to move on without making a serious pursuit.

Crawford has averaged 16.0 points on 39.1 percent shooting in 53 games.


Report: Suns hoping to retain Dragic; Thomas, Green available

(2/17/2015) Although the Suns want to keep and re-sign guard Goran Dragic, they have yet been able to reach an agreement on a long-term deal. If the Suns do trade Dragic before Thursday's deadline, the team is seeking a player with All-Star potential as well as a draft pick, sources told Yahoo Sports.

With Dragic set to become a free agent after the season, the Suns do not want to lose Dragic and have discussed a long-term deal. If the team does make a trade before the deadline, it will more likely be Isaiah Thomas or Gerald Green, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Green was initially listed as questionable for Thursday's game at the Trail Blazers. However, he's now available to play and should get time in the game, according to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic.

The Suns are 4.5 point underdogs to the Blazers.

(12/14/2014) Suns shooting guard Gerald Green scored a team-high 15 points on 5 of 13 shooting, including 3 of 7 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 112-88 loss to the Thunder Sunday.

Green drew the start in place of Goran Dragic (back) and played 26 minutes while delivering his sixth performance with at least 15 points in seven December games. He also racked up a season-high seven rebounds and one assist in the loss, the Suns' fifth straight. They'll look to turn things around Monday against the Bucks.

It was Green's fourth game of the year scoring 20 or more points. He also added three rebounds and two assists. The Suns next play Monday at Toronto.

(3/7/2014)  Suns guard Gerald Green topped his career-high in scoring for the second time this season Thursday, as he dropped 41 points to lead the way in a 128-122 win over the Thunder.

Green, who set his career-high with a 36-point effort in late February, did most of his damage in a 24-point third quarter. He scored his 41 points on 12 of 22 shooting, with eight 3-pointers made and a 9 for 11 mark from the free-throw line. The 28-year-old also added five rebounds and two assists to go with his scoring high, though he also turned the ball over three times in 31 minutes.

Green has scored 30-plus three times in the team's last 10 games, after doing so just three times in his career entering the season. He is averaging 22.8 points per game over the last 10.

(2/19/2014) Suns guard Gerald Green got hot and played a big role in leading the Suns to a 112-107 overtime win over the Nuggets Tuesday.

Green was outrageously efficient en route to a career-high 36 points in the win, as he played just 30 minutes. He shot 11 of 22 from the field, nailing six 3-pointers and going 8 of 8 from the free-throw line. He added five rebounds but did not make much of an impact on the box score otherwise in his career-best game.

Green continues to build on the best season of his career, and he is particularly hot recently. He is averaging 25.0 points per game over the last four, while shooting 53.8 percent from the field.

It was Green's second straight game scoring at least 25 points, the first time this season he has put together back-to-back games at that level this season. He also kicked in five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 34 minutes Tuesday. Green has averaged 14.2 points and 3.2 rebounds over 51 games played.

(2/9/2014) Suns guard Gerald Green snapped out of a little slump Saturday against the Warriors, as he scored 25 points in a 122-109 win.

Green, who had connected on just 31.3 percent of his attempts in the previous four games, shot extremely well this time around. He scored 25 points on 10 of 15 from the field, with two 3-pointers made. He added five rebounds and one steal while turning the ball over twice in 31 minutes.

Green is still getting plenty of shots, so he should remain productive even if he goes through some shooting slumps. He is averaging a career-best 13.9 points per game in 50 appearances.

Green went 6 of 12 shooting from the field, all of which came from downtown. He made four of his six treys in the third quarter. He finished the game with 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one block while logging 28 minutes of game action in a 103-99 victory.

Green has scored in double figures in three of the last four games. He is averaging 9.4 points and 3.6 rebounds over his last five games played.

Green tied for the team lead with 15 points Tuesday, despite playing just 18 minutes. He shot 6 of 9 from the field and added three 3-pointers, while tossing in an assist and two rebounds. He is averaging 9.2 points in just 14.0 minutes per game, while shooting 51.2 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from three-point range.
