Nets PG Jarrett Jack scores career-high 35 points vs. Raptors

(1/30/2015) Nets point guard Jarrett Jack shared the team scoring lead Friday, racking up a career-high 35 points on 13 of 30 shooting while matching another career high by dishing out 13 assists in his team's 127-122 overtime loss to the Raptors.

Jack delivered his career-best performance while playing 52 minutes in the loss, which represented his first career game with more than 50 minutes played. He also managed one steal and made just one of his seven three-point attempts. The Nets will square off with the Clippers Monday.


Nets PG Jarrett Jack doubles up vs. Hawks Wednesday

(1/28/2015) Nets point guard Jarrett Jack scored 14 points on 5 of 13 shooting while dishing out a season-high 13 assists in his team's 113-102 loss to the Hawks Wednesday.

Jack delivered just his fourth double-double of the season in the loss while chipping in five rebounds and two steals in 38 minutes. The Nets take a 3-11 January record into Friday's meeting with the Raptors.

(1/17/2015) Nets point guard Jarrett Jack scored 22 points on 10 of 18 shooting in Brooklyn's 99-90 loss to the Wizards Saturday. 

Despite turning the ball over five times, Jack also dished out eight assists and grabbed four rebounds for Brooklyn. It was Jack's second straight game scoring at least 20 points after failing to reach 20 in five straight games.

(1/16/2015) Nets point guard Jarrett Jack shared the team scoring lead Friday, racking up 26 points on 12 of 18 shooting in his team's 102-80 win over the Wizards.

The 12 made field goals represent a new season high for Jack, who also delivered seven assists, six rebounds, two steals and one block in 35 minutes. He'll face the same team Saturday when the two sides do battle in Brooklyn.


Reports: Nets are holding up three-way trade with Hornets, Thunder

(1/16/2015) The Nets have stalled trade talks with the Hornets and Thunder because they're trying to change some of the players in the deal, reports Chris Broussard of ESPN. Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer called the three-way deal "dead," at least for now.

It was previously reported that the Nets were looking to send center Brook Lopez to the Thunder. Hornets shooting guard Lance Stephenson would have gone to the Nets and Thunder shooting guard Jeremy Lamb and Nets point guard Jarrett Jack would have been Charlotte-bound.

(1/15/2015) The Nets, Hornets and Thunder are discussing a three-way trade, ESPN reports.

In the rumored deal, Nets center Brook Lopez would head to the Thunder, Hornets shooting guard Lance Stephenson would be sent to the Nets and Thunder shooting guard Jeremy Lamb and Nets point guard Jarrett Jack would head to the Hornets.

Lopez's trade market has heated up over the last few days. Stephenson returned Wednesday from a 14-game absence caused by a pelvic sprain. Lamb has seen spotty playing time in Oklahoma City in recent weeks. Jack has played for seven different teams in the last eight seasons.


Nets' Hollins wants to reduce minutes for Johnson, Jack

(1/8/2015) Nets coach Lionel Hollins believes guards Joe Johnson and Jarrett Jack are playing too much and he wants to reduce their minutes, reports The Record.

Johnson has played more than 40 minutes in two of the last three games, while Jack has averaged more than 41 minutes over the last two games.

"I have to let up or Jarrett will be hurt," Hollins said, per the New York Daily News.


Nets list Deron Williams as doubtful vs. Celtics

Williams is sore on the left side of his body. Williams missed Monday’s loss to the Mavericks. Guard Jarrett Jack saw his minutes increase and scored 20 points with 10 assists.

The Nets are 3-point favorites over the Celtics.

(1/5/2015) Nets coach Lionel Hollins said point guard Jarrett Jack and center Mason Plumlee will continue starting "indefinitely" ahead of Deron Williams and Brook Lopez, reports The Brooklyn Game, a website covering the team. Hollins said the current rotation is best for "balance."

Brooklyn hosts the Mavericks on Monday night.

Jack matched a season high with five turnovers in the blowout loss but also tallied six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in a season-high 39 minutes of action Saturday. The loss ends a three-game winning streak for the Nets, who will look to rebound Monday against the Kings.

(12/26/2014) It had been more than a month since Nets guard Jarrett Jack exceeded 20 points in a game, but he did it in style Friday afternoon to a key a defeat of Boston. He scored a season-high 27 in the win.

Jack nailed a jumper with 26 seconds remaining to put his team in the lead to stay. He finished 8 of 14 from the field and drained all 10 of his foul shots. He added seven rebounds and five assists for his finest all-around performance of the year.

(12/24/2014) Nets coach Lionel Hollins said point guard Deron Williams will come off the bench when he returns from his strained calf, reports ESPN.com. Williams declined to talk to reporters.

Williams practiced Wednesday, a sign he might be available Friday when the Nets visit the Celtics. He's missed two straight games since suffering the injury last Friday against Cleveland.

In Williams' absence, Jarrett Jack started and contributed 32 points and 18 assists in wins over Detroit and Denver. Williams is averaging 15.6 points and 6.8 assists in 25 games.

(12/20/2014) The Nets announced an MRI on Deron Williams’ calf revealed a slight strain and he is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Pistons.

If Williams is unable to play, guard Jarrett Jack will most likely see an increase in playing time. In 25 games, Jack is averaging 9.0 points and 3.4 assists.

Jack played 31 minutes off the bench in the win, matching his season high in scoring. His previous 23-point performance came in his astounding 10-for-10 night eight days ago. He also kicked in five assists and two rebounds in Friday's win. Jack and the Nets will square off with the Spurs in San Antonio Saturday.

Jack had the best shooting performance of his career off the bench Thursday while also tallying three rebounds and three assists in 26 minutes. Unfortunately, the rest of the Nets bench limped to a 4-of-23 shooting performance as the Nets fell to 4-4. They'll look to rebound Saturday against the Blazers.


Cavaliers, Nets, Celtics work out three-team trade

(7/9/2014) The Cavaliers opened up cap space in a three-team trade Wednesday, according to ESPN.com.

According to reports, the Cavaliers have traded guards Jarrett Jack and Sergey Karasev to the Nets and center Tyler Zeller to the Celtics, while the Nets sent Marcus Thornton to Boston. It is not clear what, if anything, the Cavaliers will receive in return.

(3/23/2014) Cavaliers guard Jarrett Jack came up big again on Sunday, scoring 31 points and handing out 10 assists in a 105-100 victory over the Knicks in New York.

Jack shot 13 of 19 from the floor, including 1 of 2 from downtown, and 4 of 5 from the free throw line. He also contributed with five rebounds and one block while logging 42 minutes of game action.

Jack became the first player to record at least 30 points and 10 assists in a game since LeBron James. He has stepped up in the absence of Kyrie Irving, averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds over his last five games.

(3/18/2014) Cavaliers guard Jarrett Jack played a larger than usual role in Tuesday's game against the Heat, as a result of Kyrie Irving's bicep injury.

Jack played 42 minutes in the game, and recorded his best scoring performance of the season by scoring 22 points on 8 of 13 shooting. He made 4 of 6 from three-point range and filled up the box score with four rebounds, four assists and a block, while turning the ball over three times in the 100-96 loss.

Jack has now scored in double figures in five of the last six games, a good sign given his struggles as season long. He is still averaging just 8.9 points per game, and only got his field-goal percentage above 40 percent with Tuesday's showing. 


Sore knee has bothered Jarrett Jack all season

(3/3/2014) Cavaliers guard Jarrett Jack has been bothered by a sore knee all season, The News-Herald reports, adding that he has felt better since being able to rest during the All-Star break.

"The pain is a little more tolerant than before," Jack said. "I’m never going to have doctor before or after my name. It was just pain. I’m just happy at this point in the season — that’s when those types of injuries usually flare up — it has calmed down a little bit. I’ve been able to be more myself. It’s allowed me to have more of a burst to get into the paint."

Jack will likely move back to the bench when the rest of the Cleveland backcourt gets healthy. He has averaged 8.6 points and 3.8 assists over 59 games played.


Jarrett Jack goes off for season-high in win

(2/27/2014) Cavaliers guard Jarrett Jack bounced back from a series of quiet performances with one of his best of the year Wednesday, in a 114-104 win over the Thunder.

Jack, who had scored just 27 points in his previous three games combined, put up a season-high 21 points in the big win. He shot 6 of 14 from the field but added three 3-pointers while going 6 for 6 at the free-throw line. The veteran also chipped in four assists and three rebounds, while turning the ball over just once in 39 minutes.

Jack has struggled through a miserable month of February, so hopefully Wednesday can be a sign of good things to come. He is averaging just 7.9 points and 4.4 assists per game with one game left in the month.


Kings, Cavaliers discuss potential Jarrett Jack deal

(2/18/2014) The Kings and Cavaliers have held discussions regarding Cleveland guard Jarrett Jack, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Jack, who has also been targeted by the Nets in trade talks, is owed $6.3 million per year for the next three seasons, but only the next two are fully guaranteed. He has averaged 8.5 points and 3.7 assists over 51 games played.

(2/17/2014) In need of backcourt depth, the Nets are interested in acquiring Cavaliers point guard Jarrett Jack, and are willing to part ways with Jason Terry in order to complete the deal, according to ESPN on Monday.

Jack has appeared in 51 games in his first season with the Cavaliers, averaging 8.5 points on 39.7 percent shooting in 25.7 minutes per game. Terry, 36, has one season left in his deal with Brooklyn, and is averaging 4.5 points on 36.2 percent shooting in 16.3 minutes through 35 games played.

(2/2/2014) The slumping Cavaliers tried to shake things up Saturday by moving Jarrett Jack into the starting lineup against the Rockets. Unfortunately, the move did not have the intended impact, as Jack struggled with his shooting in a 106-92 loss.

Jack played 31 minutes in the start, just his third of the season. He shot just 3 of 9 from the field and finished the game with only seven points, though he did add six assists and just one turnover in the loss.

Jack has failed to reach double figures in scoring in any of the last four games, and is averaging just 5.4 points per game over the last 10 overall.
