Chris Paul delivers big shooting performance in Game 1 win

(5/6/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul was deadly from the field Monday, scoring a team-high 32 points on 12 of 14 shooting, including 8 of 9 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 122-105 road win over the Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Paul also dished out 10 assists to record his fourth double-double of the postseason while topping his previous scoring high from Game 1 of the first round. These two teams square off again Wednesday in Oklahoma City in what will likely feel like a must-win for the Thunder.


Chris Paul doubles up in Game 2 win

(4/22/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul worked past a hamstring strain on Monday, notching a double-double in his team's 138-98 victory over Golden State in Game 2.

Paul scored 12 points on 4 of 10 from the floor, including 2 of 4 from downtown, and 2 of 2 from the charity line. He completed a double-double with 10 assists, also adding six rebounds and five steals while logging 27 minutes of game action. He's combined for 40 points, 18 assists and 13 rebounds over his first two games of the season.

Chris Paul expected to play through hamstring issue Monday

(4/21/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul strained his hamstring in a Game 1 loss to the Warriors in the opening round of the playoffs on Saturday. He's been receiving treatment and is expected to play Game 2 Monday night against Golden State, according to the team's official website.

(3/14/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul worked past an injury scare on Friday, scoring 18 points in a 96-87 victory over the Jazz in Utah.

Paul went to the locker room near the end of the third quarter with a left ankle sprain, but returned to play approximately the final six minutes of the game. He shot 8 of 12 from the floor, including 0 of 1 from downtown, and 2 of 3 from the free throw line. He also chipped in with seven assists, six rebounds and three steals while logging 36 minutes of game action.

Paul is averaging 16.6 points, 10.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds over his last five games played.

(2/23/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul played through a sprained right thumb and fell two rebounds shy of a triple-double Sunday afternoon against Oklahoma City.

Paul scored 18 points on 5 of 12 shooting from the floor, including 1 of 4 from downtown, and a perfect 7 of 7 from the charity stripe. He did all of his damage in 39 minutes of game action, also adding eight rebounds and 12 assists in a 125-117 victory.

Paul has 29 double-doubles this season, already three shy of surpassing his mark from last season. He is averaging 15.6 points, 12.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds over his last five games.

Chris Paul expects to play Sunday

(2/22/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul already missed extensive time this season with a shoulder injury, so it is going to take more than a minor injury to keep him out down the stretch. Despite suffering a sprained right thumb Friday against the Grizzlies, Paul said there is "no question" he will play through the injury Sunday against the Thunder.

"I told them I'm going to have to stop trying to steal the ball or something like that," Paul told the team's official website. "It is what it is. I've just got to get through it."

Paul did not have an X-ray taken on the thumb, and does not anticipate having one before Sunday's game. He is averaging 13.4 points and 11.2 assists in five games since returning from an 18-game absence. 


Chris Paul suffers thumb sprain vs. Memphis

(2/21/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul suffered a sprained right thumb during Friday's loss to Memphis.

Paul suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter while reaching for the ball with Marc Gasol. He is expected to be re-evaluated on Saturday, but does not appear to be in danger of missing of any game action.

Paul managed to record a double-double with 18 points and 14 assists. He also contributed with six rebounds and two steals while logging 39 minutes of game action. He has doubled up in two of his last three games played.

The Clippers return to the floor Sunday in Oklahoma City.

Chris Paul endures rough shooting performance Tuesday

(2/19/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul scored 11 points on just 1 of 10 shooting in his team's 113-103 loss to the Spurs Tuesday night.

It's the fourth time Paul has produced a 1-for-10 performance, with the last such dud coming all the way back in 2008. His nine assists left him one assist shy of tallying his third straight double-double. Paul also recorded four steals and three rebounds in 38 minutes Tuesday while going 9 for 10 from the free-throw line. He has averaged 18.8 points and 11.1 assists over 38 games played.

Paul also kicked in four rebounds and three steals while delivering his first double-double since Jan. 1, ending a two-game streak without a double-double. He has averaged 19.2 points and 11.1 assists over 36 games played.

(2/10/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul made his return from an 18-game absence because of a separated right shoulder on Sunday, picking things up where he left off with seven points on 3 of 6 shooting from the field, and 1 of 2 from the charity stripe in a 123-78 blowout win over the 76ers.

With the game well in hand early on, Paul was checked out of the game with 5:18 remaining in the third quarter and did not return. He kicked in eight assists, two rebounds and four steals while logging 23 minutes of game action.

(2/6/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul won't play on Friday, but he is expected to practice on Saturday and play on Sunday against the 76ers, according to a report from ESPN on Thursday.

According to the report, Paul intends on playing two games before the All-Star break, coming on Sunday against Philadelphia and Wednesday against Portland. He is also expected to play in the All-Star game on Feb. 16 in New Orleans, where he was originally drafted by the Hornets.

Paul has been sidelined since Jan. 3 with a separated right shoulder, which will cause him to miss 18 games leading up to Sunday. He appeared in 34 of Los Angeles' 53 games this season, averaging 19.6 points, 11.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals while shooting 46.4 percent from the field, and 35.6 percent from downtown.

A previous report from the Register indicated Paul was targeting Feb. 7 or Feb. 9 for a return, and the comment from Rivers suggests there's a possibility that could happen. Paul participated in one-on-one Wednesday and could be a go for Sunday, the Los Angeles Times reports.

(1/30/2014) Clippers head coach Doc Rivers told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday that he wouldn't mind if guard Chris Paul returns from injury during the All-Star game in New Orleans on Feb. 16. Paul was named one of the reserves on Thursday.

In fact, according to a report from the Orange County Register, Paul is targeting a return on either Feb. 7 (vs. Toronto) or Feb. 9 (vs. Philadelphia). He has been sidelined since Jan. 3 with a separated right shoulder.

Paul appeared in 34 of Los Angeles' 48 games this season, averaging 19.6 points, 11.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals while shooting 46.4 percent from the field, and 35.6 percent from downtown.

NBA reveals All-Star reserves

(1/30/2014) The NBA announced the reserves for this year's All-Star game Thursday on TNT.

Hawks forward Paul Millsap, Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan and Wizards guard John Wall are among the new faces in the Eastern Conference roster, each making their first career appearance. They'll be joined by Heat forward Chris Bosh (9th), Pacers center Roy Hibbert (2nd), Nets guard Joe Johnson (7th) and Bulls center Joakim Noah (2nd).

In the Western Conference, the only newcomer announced was second-year guard Damian Lillard from the Trail Blazers. He will be joined by his fellow Portland teammate LaMarcus Aldridge (3rd), Rockets guard James Harden (2nd), Rockets center Dwight Howard (8th), Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki (12th), Spurs guard Tony Parker (6th) and Clippers guard Chris Paul (7th).

Paul left the arena with his right shoulder on a sling and declined to speak with the media. The full extent of the injury won't be known on Friday.

Paul is expected to be with the team on Saturday in San Antonio and will be re-examined Sunday and Monday in Los Angeles, according to the Orange County Register.

Paul sustained the injury in the third quarter and was escorted back to the locker room for further examination. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game. Darren Collison took over for him in the third quarter.

Paul went 5 of 8 shooting from the field, including 5 of 6 from 3-point land, and a perfect 4 of 4 from the free throw line. He finished the game with 19 points, six assists, three rebounds and one steal while logging 22 minutes of game action before the injury. His status remains uncertain for Saturday's game at San Antonio.

(12/31/2013) Clippers point guard Chris Paul was held to just 11 points and seven assists Monday night in a blowout loss to the Suns. It was just the fourth time this year Paul has recorded fewer than eight assists -- a far cry from his 11.5 average on the year.

It was also an ugly night from the field for Paul, who made just five of his 14 field goal attempts in 30 minutes of action. He also had an uncharacteristic four turnovers and zero three-point attempts.
