Clippers guard Chris Paul scores 25 points in high-scoring loss

(12/22/2014) Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored 25 points on 8 for 17 shooting in Los Angeles' 125-118 loss to San Antonio Monday. Paul went 3 for 6 from three-point range and 6 for 7 from the free throw line.

Paul also had nine assists, putting him one shy of getting his 15th double-double of the season. 

The Clippers will look to rebound Tuesday against the Hawks.

(12/21/2014) Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored a team-high 27 points on 6 of 16 shooting, including 4 of 6 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 106-102 win over the Bucks in Los Angeles Saturday.

Paul nearly managed his second consecutive double-double in the win, dishing out nine assists after racking up 15 assists the previous night. He also delivered three rebounds, two steals and one block in 36 minutes in Saturday's win. The Clippers will move forward to face the Spurs Monday.

Paul hadn't managed a double-double in four straight games until pulling off the feat Friday, recording his fifth double-double in 10 December games. He also picked up five rebounds and three steals in 39 minutes in the loss. The Clippers will square off with the Bucks Saturday.

(12/12/2014) Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored a team-high 19 points on 7 of 14 shooting in his team's 104-96 loss to the Wizards Friday.

The loss brings the team's nine-game winning streak to an end. Paul has been a very consistent scorer over the last five games, racking up between 17 and 20 points in each. He also picked up seven rebounds and six assists Friday while turning the ball over six times. Paul will look to get the team back on track when they head to Milwaukee to face the Bucks Saturday.

Paul also dished out 15 assists which was one assist shy of his season high. It was the third time this season Paul has recorded 15 or more assists in a game. Paul also added three steals.

The Clippers next play Friday at Washington.

Paul has managed to rack up double-digit assists in 10 games since the start of the season, but it was just the second time this season making at least four three-pointers. He also tallied six rebounds in 30 minutes of action. The Clippers take a seven-game winning streak into Monday's matchup with the Suns.

Paul turned in five straight games with double-digit assists early in the season but managed the feat for just the fourth time in his last 12 games Wednesday. His excellent shooting season continued in the win, giving him six games with better than 50 percent success from the field. Paul also tallied five rebounds and one steal in 29 minutes. The Clippers take a six-game winning streak into Saturday's matchup with the Pelicans.

Paul shot 9-12 from the field, including 3-4 from beyond the arc. He also managed to sink both of his free throws. Paul also managed to involve his teammates, dishing out seven assists.

Clippers coaches push Chris Paul to be more aggressive

(11/16/2014) Clippers point guard Chris Paul said Sunday that head coach Doc Rivers and assistant coach Sam Cassell have continued to push Paul to be more aggressive, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"I try to listen to both of them," Paul said. "Sam is constantly on me. He thinks I pass up 1,000 shots. I do pass up a few here and there, and I'm working on that. But both of them stay on me about being aggressive."

"When Chris is aggressive offensively, then [opponents] have to account for him," Rivers said. "I think a lot of teams play him to be a passer. When he's aggressive like that [game against Phoenix], now they have to account for him."

Paul scored a season-high 32 points in Saturday's win over the Suns.

(11/2/2014) Clippers point guard Chris Paul overcame a minor injury scare to secure a double-double in his team's 98-92 defeat to the Kings.

Paul suffered a left foot sprain in the opening period, which caused him to make a brief trip to the locker room before returning to action with 5:48 remaining in the first half. He finished the game with 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the field, including 2 of 5 from downtown, and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He chipped in with 11 assists, five rebounds, one block and four steals while logging 37 minutes of game action.

Paul has doubled up in each of his last two games. Through three games, he's averaging 16.7 points, 9.3 assists and 3.7 boards while shooting 43.6 percent from the field.


Chris Paul delivers big shooting performance in Game 1 win

(5/6/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul was deadly from the field Monday, scoring a team-high 32 points on 12 of 14 shooting, including 8 of 9 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 122-105 road win over the Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Paul also dished out 10 assists to record his fourth double-double of the postseason while topping his previous scoring high from Game 1 of the first round. These two teams square off again Wednesday in Oklahoma City in what will likely feel like a must-win for the Thunder.

Paul scored 12 points on 4 of 10 from the floor, including 2 of 4 from downtown, and 2 of 2 from the charity line. He completed a double-double with 10 assists, also adding six rebounds and five steals while logging 27 minutes of game action. He's combined for 40 points, 18 assists and 13 rebounds over his first two games of the season.

He also chipped in with seven assists, six rebounds and three steals while logging 36 minutes of game action.

Paul is averaging 16.6 points, 10.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds over his last five games played.

Paul scored 18 points on 5 of 12 shooting from the floor, including 1 of 4 from downtown, and a perfect 7 of 7 from the charity stripe. He did all of his damage in 39 minutes of game action, also adding eight rebounds and 12 assists in a 125-117 victory.

Paul has 29 double-doubles this season, already three shy of surpassing his mark from last season. He is averaging 15.6 points, 12.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds over his last five games.

(2/22/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul already missed extensive time this season with a shoulder injury, so it is going to take more than a minor injury to keep him out down the stretch. Despite suffering a sprained right thumb Friday against the Grizzlies, Paul said there is "no question" he will play through the injury Sunday against the Thunder.

"I told them I'm going to have to stop trying to steal the ball or something like that," Paul told the team's official website. "It is what it is. I've just got to get through it."

Paul did not have an X-ray taken on the thumb, and does not anticipate having one before Sunday's game. He is averaging 13.4 points and 11.2 assists in five games since returning from an 18-game absence.

(2/21/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul suffered a sprained right thumb during Friday's loss to Memphis.

Paul suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter while reaching for the ball with Marc Gasol. He is expected to be re-evaluated on Saturday, but does not appear to be in danger of missing of any game action.

Paul managed to record a double-double with 18 points and 14 assists. He also contributed with six rebounds and two steals while logging 39 minutes of game action. He has doubled up in two of his last three games played.

The Clippers return to the floor Sunday in Oklahoma City.

It's the fourth time Paul has produced a 1-for-10 performance, with the last such dud coming all the way back in 2008. His nine assists left him one assist shy of tallying his third straight double-double. Paul also recorded four steals and three rebounds in 38 minutes Tuesday while going 9 for 10 from the free-throw line. He has averaged 18.8 points and 11.1 assists over 38 games played.

With the game well in hand early on, Paul was checked out of the game with 5:18 remaining in the third quarter and did not return. He kicked in eight assists, two rebounds and four steals while logging 23 minutes of game action.

(2/9/2014) After missing his last 18 games with a separated right shoulder, Clippers guard Chris Paul was activated and will be in the starting lineup Sunday night at home against the 76ers, the team announced.

Paul was putting together one of his finest all-around seasons prior to the injury, averaging 19.6 points and 11.2 assists per game in 34 appearances.
