Clippers PG Chris Paul scores team-high 24 vs. Pelicans

(1/30/2015) Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored a team-high 24 points on 10 of 20 shooting, including 3 of 9 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 108-103 loss to the Pelicans Friday.

Paul matched his best scoring performance of the month Friday while shooting at least 50 percent from the field for the fourth straight game. He racked up eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 38 minutes, but it wasn't enough to prevent the end of the team's six-game winning streak. The Clippers will look to bounce back Saturday against the Spurs in San Antonio.


NBA All-Star reserves selected

(1/29/2015) The reserves for both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference All-Star squads were announced Thursday.

In the East, Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving, Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, Heat guard Dwyane Wade, Hawks guard Jeff Teague, Hawks forward Paul Millsap, Heat forward Chris Bosh and Hawks center Al Horford were selected to the All-Star team.

In the West, Rockets guard James Harden, Warriors guard Klay Thompson, Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, Clippers guard Chris Paul, Thunder forward Kevin Durant, Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge and Spurs forward Tim Duncan were named All-Star reserves.

The 2015 NBA All-Star Game will be played in New York City's Madison Square Garden on Feb. 15.

(1/28/2015) Clippers point guard Chris Paul shared the team scoring lead Wednesday, tallying 21 points on 8 of 16 shooting in his team's 94-89 win over the Jazz in Utah.

Paul played 35 minutes as the Clippers won their sixth straight game, but he managed just six assists to go with five rebounds and one steal. The Clippers will look to keep rolling Friday in New Orleans against a Pelicans team that may be without Anthony Davis (groin).

Paul also dished out 12 assists to pick up his 21st double-double of the season. He came up two rebounds short of his second triple-double of the year. Paul also added two steals to his night.

(1/23/2015) Clippers guard Chris Paul got his teammates involved in a big way on Thursday against the Nets.

Paul dished out a season-high 17 assists during the contest. He's come close to that figure a couple times this season, as he's already posted four games with at least 15 assists. Paul passed the ball so much that he didn't have a lot of time to put up offensive numbers. He shot 2-5 from the field, including 1-3 from beyond the arc. He made his only free throw, finishing with six points.

Paul didn't have a great shooting night, hitting just 6-18 shots from the field. He sunk just one of his four three point attemps. Paul was able to salvage the performance somewhat, hitting all 10 of his free throws. He finished with 23 points. Paul made sure to involve his teammates during the contest, dishing out 10 assists. He also had six rebounds and two steals.

Paul also went 3 of 8 from 3-point range in the loss. With nine assists, Paul's streak of four straight games with a double-double was snapped. In five games this month, Paul is averaging 19 points and 11 assists per game. He and the Clippers will look to rebound Wednesday against the Trail Blazers.

Paul had managed just one double-double in his last 12 games before coming through with a 24-12 line Saturday, playing just 30 minutes in the blowout victory. He added eight rebounds and two steals in the game. The Clippers move on to face the Hawks Monday.

Paul also had nine assists, putting him one shy of getting his 15th double-double of the season.

Paul hadn't managed a double-double in four straight games until pulling off the feat Friday, recording his fifth double-double in 10 December games. He also picked up five rebounds and three steals in 39 minutes in the loss. The Clippers will square off with the Bucks Saturday.

The loss brings the team's nine-game winning streak to an end. Paul has been a very consistent scorer over the last five games, racking up between 17 and 20 points in each. He also picked up seven rebounds and six assists Friday while turning the ball over six times. Paul will look to get the team back on track when they head to Milwaukee to face the Bucks Saturday.

Clippers coaches push Chris Paul to be more aggressive

(11/16/2014) Clippers point guard Chris Paul said Sunday that head coach Doc Rivers and assistant coach Sam Cassell have continued to push Paul to be more aggressive, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"I try to listen to both of them," Paul said. "Sam is constantly on me. He thinks I pass up 1,000 shots. I do pass up a few here and there, and I'm working on that. But both of them stay on me about being aggressive."

"When Chris is aggressive offensively, then [opponents] have to account for him," Rivers said. "I think a lot of teams play him to be a passer. When he's aggressive like that [game against Phoenix], now they have to account for him."

Paul scored a season-high 32 points in Saturday's win over the Suns.

(11/2/2014) Clippers point guard Chris Paul overcame a minor injury scare to secure a double-double in his team's 98-92 defeat to the Kings.

Paul suffered a left foot sprain in the opening period, which caused him to make a brief trip to the locker room before returning to action with 5:48 remaining in the first half. He finished the game with 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the field, including 2 of 5 from downtown, and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He chipped in with 11 assists, five rebounds, one block and four steals while logging 37 minutes of game action.

Paul has doubled up in each of his last two games. Through three games, he's averaging 16.7 points, 9.3 assists and 3.7 boards while shooting 43.6 percent from the field.


Chris Paul delivers big shooting performance in Game 1 win

(5/6/2014) Clippers guard Chris Paul was deadly from the field Monday, scoring a team-high 32 points on 12 of 14 shooting, including 8 of 9 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 122-105 road win over the Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Paul also dished out 10 assists to record his fourth double-double of the postseason while topping his previous scoring high from Game 1 of the first round. These two teams square off again Wednesday in Oklahoma City in what will likely feel like a must-win for the Thunder.

Paul scored 12 points on 4 of 10 from the floor, including 2 of 4 from downtown, and 2 of 2 from the charity line. He completed a double-double with 10 assists, also adding six rebounds and five steals while logging 27 minutes of game action. He's combined for 40 points, 18 assists and 13 rebounds over his first two games of the season.
