Stephen Curry, LeBron James unanimous All-NBA choices

(5/21/2015) Stephen Curry and LeBron James were unanimous choices for the All-NBA first team, announced on Thursday. 

The Warriors' Curry, who was named NBA MVP, and the Cavaliers' James received first team votes on all 129 ballots submitted. Joining Curry at guard on the All-NBA team is the Rockets' James Harden, who received 125 votes. 

Joining James at forward is Anthony Davis of the Pelicans (119 votes). The center is Marc Gasol of the Grizzlies (65 votes). 

The second team consists of the Trail Blazers' LaMarcus Aldridge, the Kings' DeMarcus Cousins, the Bulls' Pau Gasol, the Thunder's Russell Westbrook and the Clippers' Chris Paul.

The third team is the Spurs' Tim Duncan, the Clippers' Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, the Warriors' Klay Thompson and the Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving


Chris Paul scores team-high 31, Clippers fall apart in Game 6

(5/15/2015) Clippers guard Chris Paul scored a team-high 31 points on 10 of 19 shooting on Thursday, but it wasn't enough to avoid a 119-107 loss to the Rockets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Clippers appeared on their way to the conference finals after building up a huge lead late in the third quarter, but the Rockets were able to close the game by outscoring the Clippers 40-15 in the fourth quarter. Paul dished out 11 assists for his third straight double-double while chipping in seven rebounds in 41 minutes.

Game 7 is set for Sunday in Houston.


Clippers G Chris Paul (hamstring) no longer on minutes restriction

(5/13/2015) Clippers coach Doc Rivers said guard Chris Paul no longer needs to have his minutes monitored, reports the Orange County Register.

Paul missed the first two games of the series against the Rockets because of a hamstring injury and he only played 23 and 26 minutes in his first two games back. However, Paul appears to be over the issue after playing 35 minutes in Game 5 on Tuesday.

The Clippers will attempt to close out the series Thursday at home. They are favored by 8-points.

(5/12/2015) Clippers guard Chris Paul said he his injured hamstring is improving and he will play in Tuesday’s Game 5 matchup at Houston, reports InsideSoCal.com.

"Hamstring is OK," Paul said. "It's good. I'll be on the court [Tuesday]."

When asked if his hamstring was near 100 percent, Paul said it was close.

"Yeah, it's getting there," he said.

Coach Doc Rivers has not discussed a minutes restriction with Paul, but he said he expects Paul to play more than the 26 minutes he played in Game 4.

"My guess is, I'm sure there is some kind of [minutes] limit, but probably he can play more than he played the first two games," Rivers said. "He's feeling a lot better."

The Clippers are 3-point favorites at Houston on Tuesday.

(5/10/2015) Clippers coach Doc Rivers said he and team doctors have talked about potentially putting guard Chris Paul on a minutes restriction once again, according to the Orange County Register

No decision has been made at this time whether Paul will have his minutes increased or decreased due to his hamstring injury. 

Paul played 23 minutes and scored 12 points in Game 3's win over the Rockets.

(5/10/2015) Clippers point guard Chris Paul will start in Sunday's Game 4 against the Rockets, according to ESPN.com.

Paul, who has battled through a hamstring injury during the Western Conference Semifinals, feels he's good to go for the game.

"I'm cool, I'm good, I'll be ready for tomorrow," Paul said. "There's no speculation, probable or questionable. I'm playing tomorrow."

Paul scored 12 points with seven assists in 23 minutes of action in Game 3, his first appearance of the series.

"For me, it was about getting out there and trying to be that leader," Paul said. "I tried to pick my spots as well as possible, but we still played through Blake [Griffin] as we should. He's been our MVP in this series and we're going to keep playing through him like we do."

Paul was sidelined the first two games with a hamstring injury, but the Clippers managed a split in Houston.

Paul missed the first two games, but his team emerged with a split and is now returning to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4. It remains to be seen if Paul recovers enough to participate.

While Los Angeles would love to get Paul back into the lineup for Game 3, coach Doc Rivers said his guard's status for Friday is still uncertain, per the Orange County Register

Paul hasn't done any on-court running or jogging, instead going through a pool workout Wednesday. 

"Again, we have a couple more days, and we'll see," Rivers said. "He's moving better today than he was. That's a good sign, but not good enough to play in a basketball game."

"He's not moving well," coach Doc Rivers said, per the Houston Chronicle. "That concerns me. It was not that hard of a decision."

Paul is dealing with a hamstring injury, which he suffered during the Game 7 win over the Spurs in the opening round. He also missed the first game of the series against the Rockets because of the injury. Guard Austin Rivers is expected to start in place of Paul.

(5/5/2015) Clippers forward Blake Griffin doesn't usually talk much on the court, when his teammates need correction.

"I’m not ever one of those guys that’s going to yell at guys," Griffin said, per InsideHoops.com. "It’s about helping them out."

Griffin was content to leave the yelling to teammate Chris Paul, a fiery on-court leader. But with Paul out for Game 1 and "50/50" for Game 2, according to coach Doc Rivers, Griffin is stepping out of his comfort zone. 

He could be heard verbally leading his teammates during Game 1 and intends to do the same if Paul is sidelined for Game 2.

Paul suffered a hamstring injury in Game 7 of Los Angeles' opening round series against the Spurs, but was able to remain in the game. Rivers said it was not worth the risk to play Paul, particularly in the series opener.

Paul is averaging 22.7 points and 7.9 assists per game in the postseason this year. The Clippers are currently 7-point underdogs against Houston.

(5/2/2015) In one of the gutsiest performances in NBA playoff history, Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored 27 points Saturday night, including the game-winner with one second remaining, to key a Game 7 defeat of now-deposed defending champion San Antonio.

Paul banked home a tough-angle shot from the right side to put the dagger in the Spurs, then limped back in pain from the hamstring injury sustained in the first quarter that forced him briefly out of the game.

"We've been in that situation a lot of times already this year, and most of the time I hadn't made it," Paul said. "We talked about it, and finally it worked when we needed it."

He finished with nine points in the fourth quarter, hit 9-of-13 shots throughout and added six assists.

Paul and his team are set to play Houston in the Western Conference semifinals.

Paul headed back to the locker room near the end of the first quarter after limping off the court. He was diagnosed witha left hamstring strain and he is expected to return.

He scored five points on 2 of 3 shooting from the field with three assists before exiting the game.

(4/26/2015) Guard Chris Paul scored a game-high 34 points Sunday in the Clippers' 114-105 win that evened their Western Conference Quarterfinals series with the Spurs at 2-2.

"It's more than just shooting the ball," Paul said. "Our defense was better and our offensive execution (was better). I think I got more shots because of the tempo of the game that we played at. We played downhill, we set screens; we're tough when we play like that."

Paul collected seven assists, three rebounds and went 10 for 10 from the free throw line in the victory.

(4/2/2015) Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored a season-high 41 points on 13 of 21 shooting, including 5 of 9 shooting from 3-point range, while dishing out 17 assists in his team's 126-122 win over the Blazers Wednesday.

Paul matched his season high in assists while posting his best scoring performance of the season, leading the Clippers to a win despite entering halftime down 13 points. The point guard also kicked in five rebounds and four steals in 39 minutes.

The Clippers will match up with the Nuggets Saturday.
