Report: Nate Robinson prefers to play for Clippers

(1/24/2015) The Clippers remain Nate Robinson's preferred free agency destination, multiple sourced told Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders on Friday. Robinson as traded from Denver to Boston and had his contract bought out by the Celtics earlier in January. He did some training recently in Los Angeles, but is now working out in Seattle in order to stay in shape before signing with another club.

Robinson averaged 5.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 14.1 minutes per game in 33 appearances for Denver this season.

(1/15/2015) The Celtics and veteran guard Nate Robinson have agreed to terms on a buyout, reports Brian Windhorst of ESPN. Robinson will be released and free to join another team in the near future after he was shipped from Denver to Boston on Tuesday.

Robinson averaged 5.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 14.1 minutes per game in 33 appearances for Denver this season. The Clippers are reportedly one of the teams interested in his services. The Cavaliers, Heat and Wizards have also expressed interest in acquiring Robinson, sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Clippers would reportedly still be interested in Robinson, even if they can complete the trade for Celtics guard Austin Rivers.

(1/13/2015) The Nuggets traded point guard Nate Robinson to the Celtics for point guard Jameer Nelson. Robinson is on the final year of the two-year deal reportedly worth $4.1 million he signed before the start of the 2013-14 season. He is expected to get a buyout with the Celtics. No draft picks are involved in the deal.

Robinson has been a marginal contributor this season for Denver due to injury woes. He averaged 19.7 minutes per contest in 2013-14 before tearing his ACL. Through 33 games (one start), he's averaging only 5.8 points, 2.3 assists in 14.1 minutes. He's also shooting a career-low 34.8 percent from the field and 26.1 percent from 3-point range over that span.

Nelson spent 10 seasons with the Magic before signing with Dallas. He was traded to Boston on Dec. 18. Nelson is averaging 6.8 points, 4.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 29 games.

Robinson scored 12 points in 21 minutes off the bench as the Nuggets handed the Timberwolves their 12th straight loss with a 110-101 victory. He is averaging 7.2 points and 3.4 assists over his last four games played.

(1/3/2015) Nuggets point guard Nate Robinson suffered a right wrist sprain in the first half of Saturday's game against the Grizzlies and is questionable to return, the Denver Post reports.

Robinson played just five minutes off the bench before suffering the injury, scoring two points on 1 of 2 shooting. If he can't return, he'll have one day to rest before the Nuggets' next game Monday.

(12/19/2014) Nuggets point guard Nate Robinson scored a season-high 20 points on 6 of 11 shooting, including 4 of 9 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 109-106 win over the Clippers Friday.

The Nuggets were able to end a three-game losing streak due in large part to Robinson giving the team a big spark off the bench. He saw just 16 minutes of action en route to his 20-point performance, also racking up five rebounds, three assists and one steal. The Nuggets will face off with the Pacers Saturday.

Robinson was in uniform Saturday but didn't see any action, and he isn't expected to play one day later without having been able to practice. The team's next practice in set for Tuesday, meaning it's possible the point guard makes his return to action Wednesday against the Rockets.

(12/6/2014) Nuggets guard Nate Robinson was forced out of Friday's loss to the Wizards with a back injury. Robinson took a knee to the back by Washington's Rasual Butler, which forced him to exit with 8:41 remaining in the game.

"I've never had anything like this," Robinson said, per the Denver Post. "That's the hardest knee I ever took in my life."

Robinson has appeared in 19 games and is averaging 5.5 points, 1.8 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game this season. His next opportunity to play will come Sunday in Atlanta.

(11/2/2014) Nuggets coach Brian Shaw told reporters that the time restrictions of Danilo Gallinari (knee), JaVale McGee (leg) and Nate Robinson (knee) -- all whom have had surgeries -- will remain intact for now, according to the Denver Post.

"That hasn't changed," Shaw said. "We'll just play it by ear as it goes."

Gallinari played 18 minutes on opening night, followed by 20 against the Thunder on Saturday. McGee also played 20 minutes Saturday, after logging only nine on Wednesday. Robinson has combined for 19 minutes through the first two games.

(10/6/2014) The Nuggets enter training camp with a number of players working their way back from injuries, and will be shorthanded for the start of preseason action.

The Denver Post reports the Nuggets will sit Danilo Gallinari (knee), JaVale McGee (leg), Nate Robinson (knee) and JJ Hickson (knee) for Monday's preseason opener against the Lakers. The players are all in various stages of their recoveries, with Galinari and McGee likely to be ready for the start of the season, while Hickson is targeting a January return. It is not clear whether Robinson will be ready by the start of the regular season.
