He finished the night with five points and two turnovers. New York would lose the game, 113-96, as Boston took a 3-0 series lead.
Analysis: Turiaf doesn't get much court time even when he's healthy, which doesn't bode well for his Fantasy value. He will be a free agent this offseason, and where he lands in 2011-12 will determine his Fantasy value. Unfortunately that value won't be too high. Owners in deeper leagues might consider taking a flier on him with a late-round pick on Draft Day.

He will be a free agent this offseason, and where he plays in 2011-12 will determine his Fantasy value. But heading into next year, Turiaf should only be drafted in deep formats with a late-round pick.

Analysis: Turiaf's injury is not thought to be too serious, although it does bear monitoring moving forward. Owners can continue to ignore Turiaf in most formats heading into Fantasy Week 23 (March 28-April 3).
News: Knicks center Ronny Turiaf returned to action on Wednesday night after missing three games with a sore knee. He did not start the game and would see just 11 minutes of action. He missed his lone shot of the contest and grabbed two boards. Turiaf added a block and an assist in New York's 110-108 win over Memphis.
Analysis: Turiaf doesn't offer much in terms of offense to Fantasy owners, so his failure to score on Wednesday isn't too much of a surprise. He's known for his rebounding and presence on the defensive side of the ball. With Jared Jeffries back on the roster, Turiaf may have to battle for his minutes more. Consider him a low-end center option in the deepest of Fantasy formats the rest of the season.
News: The Bergen County Record reports that Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said following Wednesday's shootaround that Ronny Turiaf should be able to return for Wednesday night's game in Memphis. Turiaf has missed three games with a sore knee.
Analysis: Turiaf will not be returning to the starting lineup. That is not something that will trouble Fantasy owners much, however, given his lack of productivity as a starter. He is not a player we recommend owning outside the deepest of category leagues, where he can be of help as a cheap source for blocks.
News: The New York Post reports Knicks center Ronny Turiaf was unavailable for Monday's game against the Jazz because of a sore left knee. The injury has kept him out of three games to this point.
Analysis: Turiaf was expected back in the lineup after missing Sunday's game, but the team is playing it safe. With a couple days off, Wednesday becomes the next chance for him to return to action. Healthy or not, Turiaf is just a marginal Fantasy option in deeper formats in his best moments. Though he is a starter for now, he should not be active on any rosters.
News: Knicks center Ronny Turiaf did not play in Sunday's contest against the Hawks as he continues to deal with a sore left knee. Turiaf has now missed two straight games with the injury, although coach Mike D'Antoni said he expects the veteran to be able to play Monday against the Jazz.
Analysis: Turiaf is expected back in the lineup on Monday, but that doesn't mean owners should run out and get him active. He is averaging 16.3 minutes over his last seven appearances and has even been losing starts to Shawne Williams depending on the matchup. While he can be a decent source for blocks and rebounds -- sometimes -- Turiaf should only be active in deeper leagues at this point of the season.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf (knee) was ruled out for Sunday's game at Atlanta, according to the New York Post. For Turiaf, it is his second consecutive absence. He is considered day-to-day moving forward.
Analysis: Fantasy owners are not exactly in a rush to get Turiaf back into active Fantasy lineups. He is averaging 16.3 minutes over his last seven appearances and has not been productive even as a starter when given the chance this season or throughout his career. He can be a cheap source for boards and blocks when going well, but that is not currently the case.
News: Knicks center Ronny Turiaf has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Cavaliers because of a sore left knee. He is being considered day to day with the injury. Turiaf is averaging 4.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 48 games this season.
Analysis: Turiaf's injury is not considered serious and he should be back in the lineup in a day or two. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his status for Sunday's game in Atlanta. If Turuif can't play, he will be considered an injury risk heading into Fantasy Week 20 (March 13-20). He doesn't have much Fantasy value even when healthy.
News: According to various reports, the Knicks are expected to start Ronny Turiaf at center going forward following Sunday's agreed-upon trade with the Nuggets and Timberwolves that will bring Carmelo Anthony to New York. Turiaf has averaged 5.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.9 blocks in 13 starts this season.
Analysis: Turiaf will be asked to start with the Knicks losing Timofey Mozgov in the deal, but expect to see Amar'e Stoudemire playing plenty at the five. Turiaf has minimal offensive upside and will offer little more than a cheap source for boards and blocks for however long he can remain in the starting lineup.
News: After missing three straight games with a sprained right ankle, New York center Ronny Turiaf returned to action for Saturday's game against New Jersey. He played just 10 minutes off of the bench, scoring six points on 1 of 4 shooting including 4 for 4 at the free-throw line. Turiaf was solid defensively, chipping in a pair of rebounds, a steal and a block in the limited time.
Analysis: Turiaf was likely activated to provide depth in the frontcourt after the team's surprise decision to hold out All-Star Amare Stoudemire (sprained right big toe) just before the game. Still, Turiaf looked fairly mobile and even set us screens as usual, even rolling off of one with some speed for a tough layup in traffic. He should be utilized as a low-end Fantasy option in categorical formats for his field goal percentage and blocks despite limited playing time.
News: After missing three straight games with a sprained right ankle, New York center Ronny Turiaf was active for Saturday's game against New Jersey. The news came as soon as starter Amare Stoudemire (sprained right big toe) was ruled out for the game unexpectedly.
Analysis: Coach Mike DAntoni has said Turiaf will return when he's ready and that he'll definitely be back after the All-Star break, but the depth on the frontcourt is in question without the reliable Stoudemire. Turiaf is averaging 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds on the season, which leaves a lot to be desired. When healthy, Turiaf should only be a low-end center option in the deepest of category-based Fantasy leagues.

Analysis: DAntoni has said Turiaf will return when he's ready and that he'll definitely be back after the All-Star break. He's started 13 games for the Knicks this year, but hasn't been overly productive. He's averaging 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds on the season, which leaves a lot to be desired. When healthy, Turiaf should only be a low-end center option in the deepest of category-based Fantasy leagues.

Analysis: Turiaf has started 13 games this season for New York, but has been very up-and-down with his production. With season averages of just 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds, Turiaf has very minimal Fantasy appeal when healthy. Keep him out of active lineups until further notice.

Analysis: There has been no official word on when Turiaf's injury took place, nonetheless he is listed as questionable for Sunday's tilt. Turiaf has started 13 games this season for New York, but has been very up-and-down with his production. With season averages of just 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds, Turiaf has very minimal Fantasy appeal, even when healthy.
News: Knicks center Ronny Turiaf was not much of a factor in Sunday's 124-106 win over the Pistons. Turiaf, who was making his 12th start of the season, played only eight minutes because of foul trouble in the victory and finished with four points, three assists and one rebound. With Turiaf stuck on the bench, most of his minutes went to Timofey Mozgov, who finished with a career-high 23 points and 14 rebounds.
Analysis: Turiaf had been seeing a decent amount of run of late, however, his minutes could be in trouble moving forward. Mozgov's monster game on Sunday just might push the rookie back into the Knicks rotation. It that does happen, Turiaf is most likely the one who stands to lose playing time. Continue to monitor how coach Mike D'Antoni sets his rotation moving forward. In the meantime, continue to view Turiaf as a low-end Fantasy center whose value lies in deeper formats.
News: New York center Ronny Turiaf played off the bench and scored just seven points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Knicks' 101-98 loss to Oklahoma City on Saturday night. Turiaf, who was in the starting lineup Friday night as New York coach Mike D'Antoni opted for a taller lineup, was a perfect 3 for 3 from the field and 1 of 4 from the free-throw line. He played 27 minutes and added two assists while blocking two shots for the second game in a row.
Analysis: Turiaf seems to be the main part of a consistent rotation in the Knicks' starting lineup. He responded to his start in place of Wilson Chandler on Friday against San Antonio with a double-double but could not produce the same results Saturday. D'Antoni said his lineup tinkering will likely be limited to switching between Turiaf and Chandler. "If we start to get on a hot streak, we'll kind of stay the same way. But we can mess with these two," he said. "It'll probably be one or the other. It won't be radical." A timeshare is certainly not preferred by Fantasy owners so continue to monitor the situation. Turiaf's Fantasy value remains in deeper formats, for now.
News: New York center Ronny Turiaf started and netted 10 points in the Knicks' 101-92 loss at San Antonio on Friday night. Turiaf, who was replacing Wilson Chandler in the starting lineup, connected on 5 of 9 from the field for just his fifth double-digit output of the season. He added 10 rebounds and two blocks to finish with his second double-double in his last five games.
Analysis: Turiaf got the start in place of Chandler as New York coach Mike D'Antoni shifted to a taller lineup. It seemed to benefit Turiaf as he pulled down 10 boards after totaling just 13 in his last three games combined. D'Antoni hinted he might stick with a bigger lineup, which would help Turiaf's minimal Fantasy value. Follow his progress and consider him only in deeper leagues for now.
News: New York center Ronny Turiaf will start in place of Wilson Chandler for Friday's game against the Spurs, according to coach Mike DAntoni. He said the move is a defensive decision. The game will mark Turiaf's 11th start of the season.
Analysis: Turiaf finished with four points, six rebounds, a steal and three assists in Wednesday's game, and we figure he can outshine those numbers Friday. Still, he will not be in the lineup for offensive purposes. He gives New York some toughness on defense and in the paint, but that doesn't do too much for Fantasy owners. He has minimal Fantasy appeal and can be ignored in most formats.
News: New York center Ronny Turiaf returned to action on Wednesday against Houston after missing the last due to a bruised right hip. He logged 20 minutes off the bench, going 2 for 3 from the field. Turiaf finished with four points, six rebounds, a steal and three assists. The Rockets would go on to beat the Knicks, 104-89.
Analysis: Turiaf had a nice run in the starting lineup, but now that the Knicks are healthy he'll likely keep his role off the bench. Coach Mike D'Antoni has said he wants to use an eight or nine man rotation, and as of right now Turiaf is in it. Over his last four games, he's averaging 8.5 points, 1.3 steals and 5.0 boards per contest. He gives New York some toughness on defense and in the paint, but that doesn't do too much for Fantasy owners. He has minimal Fantasy appeal and can be ignored in most formats.

Analysis: Turiaf injured his hip against Sacramento on Jan. 14 and was forced to miss Monday's game at Phoenix. He holds marginal Fantasy value outside of deeper leagues for now.
News: The New York Post reports that Knicks C Ronny Turiaf, who has missed one game with a hip injury, will return to action in a reserve role Wednesday at Houston.
Analysis: Turiaf has never been much of a scorer, and his rebounding numbers are down 1.4 a game from last season. He remains barely worth worrying about in deeper Fantasy formats for the foreseeable future.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf (hip) missed Sunday's afternoon game against the Suns. Turiaf injured his hip in his last game against Sacramento after playing just 16 minutes and scoring two points with five rebounds. He was not going to start Sunday, regardless of the injury. He is day to day.
Analysis: Turiaf scored 19 points with 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks on Jan. 11 at Portland, but that has proven to be merely an aberration. He has averaged just 7.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 9.7 steals and 0.4 blocks over his last five games and is a player to avoid -- starter or not -- in Fantasy.
News: The Bergen County Record reports that Ronny Turiaf (hip) will not start Monday's against Phoenix, whether or not he plays. Turiaf was officially listed as questionable for the game following Sunday's practice. Coach Mike D'Antoni said following the session that Danilo Gallinari will get the start after being cleared to return from a six-game absence.
News: Knicks center Ronny Turiaf played just 61 seconds into the second half before leaving with a right hip injury. Turiaf did not return in the 93-83 loss and finished with just two points on 1 of 3 shooting. He has been diagnosed with a sore right hip and is considered day to day.
Analysis: Turiaf has been back in the starting lineup for the Knicks, and for the most part hasn't done much. He did go off for 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Blazers a few games back, but has failed to scored in double digits since. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his status moving forward to see when he will be able to return. Turiaf can be considered a low-end center in deeper leagues, when healthy.
News: New York center Ronny Turiaf had a season-high 19 points and tied a season best with 10 rebounds for the Knicks on Tuesday night against the Trail Blazers. He shot 8 for 9 from the field and was 3 for 3 at the foul line. Turiaf added three assists, three steals and two blocks in his 38 minutes of action. New York would go on to win the game, 100-86, over Portland.
Analysis: Turiaf has been back in the starting lineup for the Knicks, and for the most part hasn't done much. Over his last five games he's averaging 6.0 points, 5.4 boards, 1.6 blocks and 1.4 assists per outing. He's missed just four shots over that span, but made just four field goals in his other four games combined. He has grabbed 10 boards in two of those games, but Turiaf's performance should be considered a flash-in-the-pan. Fantasy owners should view Turiaf as a low-end center option in the deepest of leagues.
News: Knicks center Ronny Turiaf struggled in Tuesday's 127-115 win over the Spurs. Turiaf, who was making just his seventh start of the season, finished with four points in the victory. He made both of his shots from the floor and finished with two rebounds and an assist in the contest.
Analysis: The Knicks are now 6-1 when Turiaf starts this season, however, the big man out of Gonzaga is averaging just 4.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists when he starts the game out on the floor. While the Knicks have not gone on record and said he would start with Danilo Gallinari sidelined, coach Mike D'Antoni hinted as much. "We're pretty successful with Ronny starting," D'Antoni said. "It's a chance to experiment." Consider him a low-end Fantasy center while he is starting.
News: New York Newsday reports that Danilo Gallinari (knee) is awaiting the results of an MRI after suffering a knee injury in Sunday's game against Indiana. Coach Mike D'Antoni said that even in the MRI results are "really good," Gallinari is doubtful for Tuesday's game against San Antonio. D'Antoni added that Ronny Turiaf would start if Gallinari can't go.
Analysis: Turiaf has not done much this season in six starts, averaging just 4.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Without even a guarantee that he would start all week, he remains a poor play outside of deeper category leagues where he may be of help in the blocks category.
News: New York gave center Ronny Turiaf 12 minutes on Wednesday night in a relatively easy win over Oklahoma City. He certainly made the most of his time on the floor. Turiaf scored 11 points on 4 of 5 shooting as he grabbed two rebounds with a blocked shot. He added an assist and went 3 for 5 from the free throw line.
Analysis: The Gonzaga alum took a few more shots than he normally does and hit a few more as well on Wednesday and that is why he was in double figures. Otherwise, he really only has low-end Fantasy value at the moment due to his 11 minutes per game over his last five.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf returned from a four-game absence to help beat the Wolves on Monday night. Turiaf played 10 minutes in the game and shot 1 for 2 from the field with two free throws to score four points. He added three assists and a block and did not get a rebound.
Analysis: Turiaf spent most of his time on the court attempting to limit Kevin Love and did a decent job of that. A defensive specialist, Turiaf does not provide much more than cheap rebounds and blocks for deeper category leagues.
News: The New York Post reports that Knicks C Ronny Turiaf (knee) is expected to make his return Monday night against the Timberwolves after missing four games. Turiaf will be charged with defending Kevin Love, who posted a 31-point, 31-rebound gem the last time the two teams met. "I'm looking forward to winning a game," Turiaf said. "I'm not looking forward to playing against Kevin Love. Kevin Love isn't the guy who makes my heart beat. I like the way he plays. He does the dirty work. I'll try to prevent that."
Analysis: Turiaf will likely be asked to play significant minutes as the team tries to prevent a repeat of the 31/31 debacle. A defensive specialist, Turiaf does not provide much more than cheap rebounds and blocks for deeper category leagues while healthy.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf (knee) remained sidelined on Sunday when his team took on the Raptors. He is listed as day-to-day with a sprained left knee.
Analysis: Turiaf was getting to start for the Knicks at the time of his injury, but his minutes were inconsistent. He's worth owning in category leagues because of his shot-blocking skills, but he's not much help in any other categories. He should remain on waivers in most Fantasy leagues.
News: New York center Ronny Turiaf (knee) did not play in the Knicks' game against New Orleans on Friday. Turiaf has now missed three straight games with his troublesome knee.
Analysis: Turiaf hasn't been able to practice lately and was slated to see limited minutes off the bench if he played. The Knicks center has struggled this season with 4.9 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game. With his minutes decreasing, he should remain on waiver wires in most Fantasy leagues.

News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf (knee) missed Tuesday's game against New Jersey. Turiaf missed his second straight game with the injury after seeing just 10 minutes on Saturday against Atlanta. Coach Mike D'Antoni expects Turiaf to return on Friday.
Analysis: The Knicks' big man is averaging just 4.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game on the year. His 1.6 blocks per game gives him some low-end Fantasy value in leagues where you need help in that category. Otherwise, he is just very low-end, when healthy.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf (knee) was deactivated by the Knicks for Sunday's game against the Pistons. Turiaf, who came into Saturday's game against Atlanta with a knee injury, left that game and could not play the second half.
Analysis: Turiaf did not sound very optimistic about the knee on Saturday, but he will be treated as day-to-day. The Knicks are slated for three games in Week 6 (Nov. 29-Dec. 5) and Turiaf really only offers modest rebounding and some shot blocking when healthy anyway. Look for better alternatives as a low-end starter this week.
News: New York C Ronny Turiaf, who came into Saturday's game against Atlanta with a knee injury, left the game and could not play the second half. His sore left knee began acting up. Turiaf is day to day but this is still a serious concern for New York. "I don't know," he said when asked about his ailing knee.
Analysis: Turiaf played eight minutes on Saturday and shot 1 for 2 from the field to score two points with one rebound. He's only averaging 5.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game on the year. He's not a high-end Fantasy option, when healthy, but he is worth having in deeper formats.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf, who injured his knee Wednesday at Charlotte and sat out the fourth quarter, should be fine to play Saturday against the Hawks, coach Mike D'Antoni told the Bergen County Record on Friday.
Analysis: Turiaf missed three games earlier this month with a knee injury, so his early exit Wednesday was obviously a concern for the Knicks. Not so much for Fantasy owners, though. Turiaf is more of a defensive presence than a statistical contributor. Unless you're short on blocks in a categorical league, you can leave him on waivers.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf had been dealing with some soreness but was just fine to start Tuesday's game against Charlotte. The center played 31 minutes and was perfect from the field, going 6 for 6 and scoring 12 points. He added two rebounds, two blocks and two steals with four personal fouls.
Analysis: Turiaf is a very limited player offensively, despite going 6 for 6 on Tuesday, and will likely become a liability in that area down the line. In the meantime, what the added minutes as a starter will do is give him a chance to rack up numbers in areas where he is at his best -- boards and blocks. Consider him a viable low-end starter in deeper category leagues.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf missed Monday's team scrimmage on Monday. According to ESPN, Turiaf is dealing with "general soreness." Turiaf was recently moved into the team's starting lineup over TImofey Mozgov..
Analysis: This soreness is not expected to be anything that will keep him out of game action. Turiaf is a very limited player offensively and will likely become a liability in that area down the line. In the meantime, what the added minutes as a starter will do is give him a chance to rack up numbers in areas where he is at his best -- boards and blocks. Consider him a viable low-end starter in deeper category leagues.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf (finger) was able to play in Wednesday's game in Sacramento and he was given the start over Timofey Mozgov. Turiaf played 30 minutes and brought down seven rebounds with two blocks and three points. Turiaf had played just 12 minutes in his first game back from a knee injury on Tuesday night in Denver.
Analysis: Turiaf could be looking at big minutes going forward as a starter, but Fantasy owners should not get terribly excited. He is a very limited player offensively and will likely become a liability in that area down the line. What the added minutes will do is give him a chance to rack up numbers in areas where he is at his best -- boards and blocks. Consider him a viable low-end starter in deeper category leagues.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf returned from a knee injury on Tuesday in Denver and then injured his pinkie finger in the game. Turiaf left in the second quarter after dislocating the pinkie. He returned to the game in the middle of the third quarter. Turiaf ended up playing 12 minutes in the game as he fouled out. He did not score as he went 0 for 1 from the field. He had just two rebounds, two blocks and an assist.
Analysis: The center missed three games with the knee problem and this pinkie issue could come back to haunt him as well. Regardless, averaging 5.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game on the year, Turiaf barely needs to be on Fantasy rosters.
News: The New York Post reports that Knicks C Ronny Turiaf is set to return to the lineup on Tuesday in Denver. That said, coach Mike D'Antoni is still calling him probable for the game, not guaranteeing he will play.
Analysis: Turiaf has scored in double figures just once this season. He chews up a decent amount of minutes for New York, but he is more on the floor for his defense. He is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward blocks and rebounds for the time being.

Analysis: Turiaf has been a low-end source of rebounds and blocks off the bench, but the New York Post said he could be a starter when he's ready to return. Either way, he'll get minimal minutes, making him little more than a blocks specialist in categorical leagues.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf, who missed Wednesday's game with a sprained left knee, missed practice Thursday and is questionable for Friday's game at Minnesota. According to the New York Post, he could be the starting center when he returns now that coach Mike D'Antoni has moved Timofey Mozgov to the bench.
Analysis: Turiaf has been a low-end source of rebounds and blocks off the bench, and his minutes likely wouldn't change much even if he moved into the starting lineup. He has some low-end appeal in categorical leagues, but he can remain on waivers in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: New York center Ronny Turiaf (knee) was held out on Wednesday night against Golden State. Turiaf left during the first half of Tuesday's game against the Bucks with a knee injury. It's being reported that he has a sprained left knee. He is considered day to day by the Knicks.
Analysis: Turiaf is a defensive presence for the Knicks, but does not offer much on the offensive side of things. When getting regular playing time, as he had been recently off the bench, he can be a decent emergency stopgap off the waiver wire in those leagues where help at center is hard to come by. He's a steady source for blocks as well in category play.
News: New York center Ronny Turiaf (knee) was not scheduled to play Wednesday night against Golden State, according to the New York Post. Turiaf left during the first half of Tuesday's game against the Bucks with a knee injury. It's being reported that he has a sprained left knee. He is day to day for the Knicks.
Analysis: Turiaf is a defensive and rebounding specialist for the Knicks, so they'll miss his toughness in the lineup. As for Fantasy owners, they'll also miss his rebounding and block contribution. He should be reserved in daily lineups. His value lines in deeper Rotisserie leagues, when healthy.
News: Knicks center Ronny Turiaf left in the first half of Tuesday's 107-80 loss to the Bucks with a knee injury. Turiaf played 12 minutes before sustaining the injury and finished with just one point and one rebound. He has been diagnosed with a sprained left knee and is listed as day to day.
Analysis: Turiaf is known for his defense and rebounding, but isn't much of a scorer. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his status over the next few days to see when he can return to the court. However, Turiaf isn't worth using in most formats, even when healthy.
News: Knicks center Ronny Turiaf had his best game of the season on Thursday night, as New York beat Chicago 120-112. He scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds in his 26 minutes of court time. He chipped in three assists, two steals and one block for the Knicks.
Analysis: Turiaf is known for his defense and rebounding. His nine points off the bench was a nice bonus for the Knicks and Fantasy owners. Owners in deeper category-based leagues should view Turiaf as a source for rebounds and blocks heading into Week 3 (Nov. 8-14).

He was stepped on during Wednesday's season opener and his injury wasn't considered serious. Turiaf logged 22 minutes off the bench, going 2 for 2 from the field and 2 for 4 from the foul line. Turiaf chipped in three assists and two blocks to go with his six points.

News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf left with a sore back after Amar'e Stoudemire stepped on him following an accidental collision in the fourth quarter Wednesday at Toronto. He was icing the area after the game, but the injury is not considered serious. Turiaf had eight points, four rebounds, four blocks and two steals in 23 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Turiaf isn't much of an offensive player, but he could provide some cheap blocks and rebounds off the bench, which makes him a viable option in categorical leagues. You wouldn't want to use him in standard Fantasy formats, though.
News: Knicks C Ronny Turiaf did not start in Wednesday's regular-season opener at Toronto, but he played 23 minutes off the bench and outplayed starter Timofey Mozgov. Mozgov played just seven minutes. Turiaf scored eight points.
Analysis: Turiaf may benefit from a hip injury that might be limiting Mozgov early on. There are minutes up for grab at the center spot in New York this season, but Turiaf's lack of an offensive game will cap his appeal. He remains more of a source for cheap boards and blocks in category leagues.
News:Ronny Turiaf got a start in his first preseason game for the Knicks against Olimpia Milano in Italy. He played 21 minutes, contributing five points and two rebounds with an assist. Turiaf was part of the sign-and-trade deal that sent David Lee to Golden State this offseason.
Analysis: Turiaf is in competition for a starting job alongside Amar'e Stoudemire. However, even if he does get the job he is expected to lose a fair amount of minutes to Anthony Randolph and is not a player we recommend owning outside of deeper category leagues where he could be a cheap source for blocks.
News: The Knicks and Warriors have completed a sign-and-trade deal that sent David Lee to Golden State in exchange for New York Knicks to the Golden State Warriors. Agent Mark Bartelstein says Lee will get a six-year, $80 million contract. The Knicks received forwards Anthony Randolph, Kelenna Azubuike and Ronny Turiaf in the deal.
Analysis: Turiaf is likely headed for a reserve role in New York, meaning his Fantasy value won't change much with the Knicks. He'll provide a cheap source for blocks and even some boards in deeper leagues, but will be merely waiver wire fodder in Fantasy again.
News: Golden State Warriors center-forward Ronny Turiaf will not play for France in the world championship because of a knee injury. Turiaf told French sports daily L'Equipe that he is "dejected" and will undergo medical tests to determine whether he needs surgery.
Analysis: The worlds will take place in Turkey from Aug. 28 to Sept. 12. France will face Spain, Lithuania, New Zealand, Canada and Lebanon in Group D. If he isn't ready for that, he may not be ready for the start of training camp in October. Fantasy owners won't have to worry about wasting a late-round pick on him.
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf was activated on Wednesday after missing Tuesday's game with the flu. Turiaf played 21 minutes against the Wolves Wednesday and scored two points on 1 of 2 shooting. He failed to grab a rebound and dished out five assists. He also had two steals.
Analysis: Turiaf had been picking up his production before missing the previous game with the illness. He struggled a bit in his return but he should get back to normal shortly. Still, he's only a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf did not play in Tuesday's game against the Wizards due to the flu.

Analysis: There could be a flu bug going around the Warriors locker room as Monta Ellis has missed time due to the flu. Turiaf remains just a low-end Fantasy center for the deepest of leagues when healthy, but he had scored 13 points with eight rebounds and five assists in a rare big performance by him in his last game against the Clippers on March 28.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf returned to the court Saturday after missing nine games due to a knee injury. He played 19 minutes against the Mavericks, finishing with zero points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.
Analysis: Not only was he back in uniform on Saturday, but Turiaf was in the starting lineup in place of Chris Hunter. Turiaf had been effective earlier this month, averaging 11.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in the five games prior to being injured. If he stays healthy, he can be a viable No. 3 Fantasy center for the Warriors.

News: According to the Contra Cost Times, Warriors C Ronny Turiaf is considered day-to-day with a sore left knee. He missed Monday's game against New Orleans. Anthony Tolliver and Chris Hunter saw a boost in minutes in Turiaf's absence Monday.
Analysis: Turiaf was also limited to eight minutes at Charlotte in the team's previous game. With Andris Biedrins sidelined indefinitely with an abdominal issue, Turiaf will miss a chance at a Fantasy boost however long he is out. Hunter got the start in his place Monday and scored 10 points with three rebounds, a block and an assist in 18 minutes. Tolliver played 26 minutes but was 1 of 5 from the field and scored just five points to go with five rebounds, an assist and a steal. Both are very low-end stopgap measures in Fantasy.
News: The Mercury News reports via Twitter that Warriors center Andris Biedrins will undergo surgery to repair a small tear in his abdominal muscle. Biedrins has missed the past four games with the injury and will be out indefinitely.
Analysis: Keep Biedrins reserved in all leagues and hope he can return at some point before the end of the season. He has struggled this season with injuries and inconsistent play, but Biedrins is a No. 2 Fantasy center when healthy. With Biedrins out, Anthony Tolliver and Ronny Turiaf will continue to see a boost in value.

It was his third straight game with at least 10 points, his fourth straight with at least six rebounds. In 28 minutes, he shot 7 of 8 from the field. He added three assists, two steals and one blocked shot.
Analysis: Turiaf is averaging 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds over his last five games, scoring at least 10 points in three straight. That kind of production should continue at least for the short term, as the Warriors are riddled with injuries, forcing Turiaf into an expanded role. He's performing like a No. 3 center in that expanded role.
News: According to a report on CSNBayArea.com, Warriors center Andris Biedrins will not travel with the team on the upcoming five-game road trip. He is scheduled to be examined next Monday in Philadelphia by a hernia specialist. Biedrins suffered a right groin injury during the third quarter of Saturday night's game vs. Detroit and did not return. The Warriors will likely rely on Anthony Tolliver and Ronny Turiaf with Biedrins out.
Analysis: It will also help Tolliver and Turiaf that Monta Ellis (back) is not with the team either. Consider Tolliver a good stopgap option, and Turiaf should be added in deeper leagues with the Warriors in need of healthy bodies to put up solid production.
News: Warriors C/F Ronny Turiaf had 12 points with eight rebounds and two blocks Thursday against Denver. He had been held scoreless in his his last two games.
Analysis: Don't get too excited. Turiaf got a lot of easy buckets in a 127-112 shootout and he usually only gets around 3-5 shots per game and is more of a rebounder and a shot blocker than a scorer. Dantasy owners should not flock to Turiaf unless he backs this up.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf, who missed Sunday's game with an illness, returned to the lineup Tuesday against the 76ers. He went scoreless but pulled down seven rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.

News: Golden State center Ronny Turiaf remained out on Wednesday against Denver. He is day to day but has now been out for an extended absence with no timetable to return.
Analysis: Turiaf, who has a sprained right ankle, missed his fourth straight Wednesday. He is a low-end Fantasy option barely worth recognizing, when healthy.

Analysis: Turiaf, who has a sprained right ankle, missed his third straight game after sustaining the injury against Cleveland one week ago Monday. News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf had two points with three rebounds and three assists in 11 minutes of action Monday against Cleveland. Andris Biedrins played 13 minutes off the bench and finished with no points and three rebounds on 0 for 4 shooting from the field.
Analysis: The Warriors continue to start Turiaf at center, but that has done little to his Fantasy value. Andris Biedrins should eventually take on a bigger role as he is further removed from his lengthy absence due to injury. For now, neither player is worth starting. But, of the two, only Biedrins is worth stashing.
News: The Warriors' Ronny Turiaf limped off the court with 7:19 remaining in the third quarter Tuesday at Denver after coming down awkwardly on his right ankle while going for a rebound. He returned in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with two points, four rebounds and two blocks in 21 minutes.
Analysis: Turiaf often gets to start for the Warriors, but he doesn't offer much statistically. Unless you're desperate for blocks, you can leave him on waivers in Fantasy.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Ronny Turiaf will be moved into the starting lineup at center for the Warriors starting with Tuesday night's game in Denver. He will get the nod alongside Anthony Randolph, Corey Maggette, Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry. "I think Ronny and Randolph play well together, and it gets a warm knee going," Nelson said after Tuesday's shootaround.
Analysis: The plan is for Turiaf to play around 10 minutes at the start of each half, with Biedrins playing the rest of the minutes. With Don Nelson, he could shuffle his lineup again in another game or two and it wouldn't be a surprise. Turiaf could see a mild boost with the starting role, but his value in Fantasy leagues remains limited with him being a player who helps only in blocks really.
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf was able to play on Saturday against the Suns. Turiaf has played in only four games this season because of a knee injury. He scored only one point in 15 minutes of action, adding three rebounds and an assist.
Analysis: Turiaf has some appeal in deeper category-based leagues for his help in blocks, but he can't be trusted in Fantasy leagues until he proves both healthy and effective again. He is however safe to use in the deepest of formats in Fantasy Week 10 (Dec. 28-Jan. 3).
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Ronny Turiaf (knee) is expected to return to the lineup Saturday against Phoenix. Turiaf has not played since the fourth game of the season.
Analysis: Turiaf has some appeal in deeper category-based leagues for his help in blocks, but he can't be trusted in Fantasy leagues until he proves both healthy and effective again.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf (knee) remained out Friday in a loss to the Wizards.
Analysis: Keep an eye on when Turiaf returns, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. The safe bet is to ignore him in all leagues unless he turns his production around once he's 100 percent recovered from the knee injury.
News: Warriors center Andris Biedrins (groin/abdomen) and center Ronny Turiaf (knee) are not ready to return. Both are close, but neither could play Wednesday against San Antonio.
Analysis: Keep an eye on when Turiaf returns, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. The safe bet is to ignore him in all leagues unless he turns his production around once he's 100 percent recovered from the knee injury.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports Warriors center Andris Biedrins (groin/abdomen) and center Ronny Turiaf (knee) are not ready to return. Both are close, but neither is expected to play Wednesday against San Antonio.
Analysis: Keep Biedrins and Turiaf reserved in all leagues against the Spurs. When healthy, Biedrins is a No. 2 Fantasy center, and Turiaf has minimal Fantasy value in all formats.
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf (knee) missed Monday's game at Philadelphia with a left knee sprain. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that he's likely to miss all of Week 8 (Dec. 14-20) of the season.
Analysis: Keep an eye on when Turiaf returns, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. The safe bet is to ignore him in all leagues unless he turns his production around once he's 100 percent recovered from the knee injury.
News: The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that Warriors center Ronny Turiaf (knee) could be back in a week, meaning he would be out for Monday's game at Philadelphia and likely all of the Week 8 scoring period.
Analysis: Keep an eye on when Turiaf returns, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. The safe bet is to ignore him in all leagues unless he turns his production around once he's 100 percent recovered from the knee injury.
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf (knee) did not return on Saturday at Detroit. He is questionable for Monday at Philadelphia.
Analysis: Turiaf is a good blocks specialist in categorical leagues, but he doesn't offer enough other stats to matter in most Fantasy formats. He can be left on waivers in most leagues. Do not have Turiaf active for Fantasy Week 8 (Dec. 14-20).
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf missed his sixth straight game with a knee injury Friday at Detroit. In all, the injury has sidelined him for 18 of the last 20 games.
Analysis: Turiaf is a good blocks specialist in categorical leagues, but he doesn't offer enough other stats to matter in most Fantasy formats. He can be left on waivers in most leagues.
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf missed his fifth straight game with a knee injury Wednesday at New Jersey. In all, the injury has sidelined him for 17 of the last 19 games.
Analysis: Turiaf is a good blocks specialist in categorical leagues, but he doesn't offer enough other stats to matter in Fantasy. You can leave him on waivers in most leagues.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf missed his fourth straight game with a knee injury Monday at Oklahoma City. In all, the injury has sidelined him for 16 of the last 18 games.
Analysis: Turiaf is a good blocks specialist in categorical leagues, but he doesn't offer enough other stats to matter in Fantasy. You can leave him on waivers in most leagues.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf did not dress for Saturday's game against Orlando due to a left knee injury. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Turiaf is a decent source for blocks in deeper formats. However, he doesn't play enough minutes and doesn't do enough outside of blocks to help most Fantasy owners when healthy.
News:Ronny Turiaf returned to the Warriors' lineup on Saturday against the Lakers after missing nearly a month and 12 straight games with a sprained left knee. He had three points and four rebounds in 17 minutes.
Analysis: Turiaf is a good blocks specialist in Rotisserie leagues, but he doesn't offer enough production in any other category to have significant Fantasy appeal. Leave him on waivers even though he is back in action.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf missed his eighth straight game with a knee injury Tuesday at Cleveland. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, he'll be out longer than Andris Biedrins (groin, back), who won't be reevaluated until Monday.
Analysis: Turiaf is a good blocks specialist in Rotisserie leagues, but he doesn't offer enough production in any other category to have significant Fantasy appeal. Leave him on waivers.
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf did not return to action on Saturday at Milwaukee. He has missed seven straight games and remains day to day with a knee injury.
Analysis: Turiaf is good for a few blocks and rebounds when healthy, but unless you play in a deep Rotisserie league, his contributions aren't significant enough to matter in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers. He should not be active in any format for Week 4 (Nov. 16-22).
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf did not return to action on Friday against the Knicks. He has missed six straight games and remains day to day with a knee injury.
Analysis: Turiaf is good for a few blocks and rebounds when healthy, but unless you play in a deep Rotisserie league, his contributions aren't significant enough to matter in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers.
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf did not return to action on Wednesday against the Pacers. He has missed five straight games and remains day to day with a knee injury.
Analysis: Turiaf is good for a few blocks and rebounds when healthy, but unless you play in a deep Rotisserie league, his contributions aren't significant enough to matter in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf missed his fourth straight game with a knee injury Monday against the Timberwolves. He's day to day.
Analysis: Turiaf is good for a few blocks and rebounds when healthy, but unless you play in a deep Rotisserie league, his contributions aren't significant enough to matter in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports that Ronny Turiaf (knee) is doubtful to return Monday night against Minnesota. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Turiaf normally doesn't have much Fantasy appeal, but he is missing a chance to fill in for injured Andris Biedrins. His own injury makes him someone to reserve in Fantasy for now.
News: Golden State C Ronny Turiaf was again on on Sunday at Sacramento with a knee injury. He is considered questionable for Monday against the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Turiaf contributes a decent number of blocks and rebounds -- enough to make him viable in Rotisserie leagues, anyway -- but this injury just won't go away. He'll likely miss a few games, so reserve him for now. He should be held out for Week 3 (Nov. 9-15).
News: Warriors F/C Ronny Turiaf, who sprained his left knee in the fourth quarter of last Friday's loss to Phoenix, missed Friday's game against the Clippers. It's the same knee that forced Turiaf to miss the majority of training camp. He is considered questionable for Sunday at Sacramento.
Analysis: Turiaf contributes a decent number of blocks and rebounds -- enough to make him viable in Rotisserie leagues, anyway -- but this injury just won't go away. He'll likely miss a few games, so reserve him for now. If he can't play on Sunday, he should likely be held out for Week 3 (Nov. 9-15).
News: Warriors F/C Ronny Turiaf, who sprained his left knee in the fourth quarter of Friday's loss to Phoenix, missed Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies. It's the same knee that forced Turiaf to miss the majority of training camp.
Analysis: Turiaf contributes a decent number of blocks and rebounds -- enough to make him viable in Rotisserie leagues, anyway -- but this injury just won't go away. He'll likely miss a few games, so reserve him for now.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf is questionable for Wednesday's game against Memphis due to sprained left knee, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Analysis: Turiaf will be treated as day to day and his status for Wednesday's game may not be determined until Wednesday. Fantasy owners should consider him too risky to activate this week in weekly scoring formats. He offers only blocks and modest rebound numbers.
News: Warriors big man Ronny Turiaf started at power forward in Wednesday's season opener against Houston. He played 25 minutes and managed 4 points with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Analysis: Turiaf got the start mostly due to the fact that Anthony Randolph was coming off an injury and was limited to only 10 minutes in the game. As Randolph get healthier, Turiaf will see less minutes. He can be useful for blocks and some cheap rebounds, but doesn't offer much outside of that and is better in category-based play than in Head-to-Head.
News: Warriors center Ronny Turiaf had seven points, four rebounds and one assist Sunday at Sacramento in 27 minutes. Turiaf started the game, but he could return to the bench soon with Andris Biedrins close to coming back from an ankle injury. Biedrins didn't play Sunday, but he did dress and could return this week.
Analysis: Turiaf has minimal Fantasy value even when starting. If Biedrins returns as expected, Turiaf would be a reserve Fantasy center. For now, consider Turiaf a low-end No. 2 center in deep leagues.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf had 12 points and 13 rebounds in Wednesday's overtime game against Sacramento. It was his first game in double figure in points since March 22 and his first game in double figures in rebounds since March 13.
Analysis: Turiaf benefited from the absence of Andris Biedrins, a good matchup against a bad defensive team, and an overtime session in a game that finished 143-141. Biedrins is still out for at least another few games and could easily be shut down for the rest of the season, making Turiaf someone to consider in a pinch as a No. 2 center down the stretch.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports on Tuesday that Warriors center Andris Biedrins (ankle) was examined by the team doctor in San Francisco. He will be evaluated again in two weeks and will be out until at least April. That should allow more playing time for Ronny Turiaf, who started Tuesday against the Clippers and had seven points, eight assists and five rebounds in 27 minutes.
Analysis: Turiaf isn't going to turn into a stud Fantasy option, but he could be good for some production with Biedrins out. Consider adding Turiaf at this time in deep leagues and use him as a No. 2 center where warranted.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Andris Biedrins will miss at least a week after spraining his left ankle in Friday's win over Dallas. Ronny Turiaf will start Biedrins' place, with second-year big man Jermareo Davidson likely to get some minutes.
Analysis: That rules Biedrins out for Week 21 in Fantasy leagues and could make him questionable for Week 22. Pick up Turiaf immediately if he is available as a stopgap. Davidson's role is not going to be enough to make him useful in Fantasy. Turiaf will be a decent source for boards and is already a very solid source for blocks. Keep Biedrins stashed where possible.
News: The Warriors lost center Andris Biedrins to a sprained left ankle after eight minutes Friday for Dallas. Ronny Turiaf had another big game in his place as he grabbed 12 rebounds in 25 minutes and blocked five shots. X-rays taken on Biedrins' ankle were negative.
Analysis: Biedrins could be looking at a prolonged absence here. The Warriors don't have much to play for and Don Nelson has already been looking to rest his veteran players lately. The fact that Ronny Turiaf has played so well lately means the team does not have to rush Biedrins back. If you own Biedrins and Turiaf is available, it's smart to add him as a stopgap.
News: Golden State C Andris Biedrins returned to action on Wednesday night in a win over the Nets. Biedrins was 5-of-6 from the field over 31 minutes for 10 points. He added 13 rebounds, two steals and a block. Backup Ronny Turiaf played 17 minutes and had just four points with seven rebounds.
Analysis: Biedrins was dealing with a personal matter and was not injured. Now that he's back you can continue to use him as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy center in all leagues. As for Turiaf, he goes back to being just useful in deeper category-based leagues for cheap help in blocks and boards.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf returned to action on Wednesday against the Bulls after missing a game with an illness. He scored four points in 14 minutes of work, going 2-of-4 from the field.
Analysis: Turiaf has been spelling Andris Biedrins who has been injured off and on as of late. Turiaf is now healthy enough to play, but remains only a low-end option because Biedrins is active. He is beginning to find his rhythm, but can't really be trusted to produce much at the moment.
News: Warriors F Ronny Turiaf did not play Tuesday against the Timberwolves because of illness. He remains questionable heading into Wednesday against the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Turiaf had a season-high 9.8 points in February and has started to find his rhythm in coach Don Nelson's system. However, Turiaf is still more of a low-end Fantasy option when healthy.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports the Warriors will rest forward Ronny Turiaf on Tuesday at Minnesota because he is dealing with the flu.
Analysis: Keep Turiaf reserved in all leagues and hope he can return to health soon. When healthy, Turiaf is a low-end No. 2 Fantasy center. He has lost value recently after dealing with an ankle injury and the healthy return of Andris Biedrins.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf was able to play on Friday against the Bobcats, coming in off the bench. He had been listed as questionable for the game with a sprained right ankle.
Analysis: Turiaf's ankle is apparently good enough for him to get into the game, but it doesn't mean he'll be able to play at that high of a level. With Andris Biedrins back in the starting lineup, there's no need for Turiaf to put in big minutes, so think of him as a low-end option at the moment.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports Warriors center Ronny Turiaf (sprained right ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against Charlotte.
Analysis: Consider Turiaf a risky play in daily leagues but hope he can return either Friday against the Bobcats or Sunday against Utah when looking ahead to the next scoring period. Even with Andris Biedrins back from his ankle injury, Turiaf is still worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy center in deep formats.
News: Warriors center Ronny Turiaf, who sprained his right ankle vs. the Clippers on Monday, did not practice Wednesday but did some shooting, reports the Contra Costa Times.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Turiaf's status for Friday's game, but his Fantasy value has gone down since Andris Biedrins returned from his ankle injury. If Turiaf can play against the Bobcats and going forward, consider him a No. 2 Fantasy center at best.
News: Warriors C Andris Biedrins returned to the lineup Monday against the Clippers after missing five games with a sprained left ankle. He played 17 minutes off the bench, recording four points and four rebounds. Ronny Turiaf started and had seven points with seven rebounds in 23 minutes.
Analysis: Biedrins was averaging 13.0 points and 11.8 rebounds coming into Monday and likely just needs a game or two before he is back to producing at a high level. Biedrins is a No. 1 Fantasy center when healthy. Turiaf's Fantasy appeal will only go down from here.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports that Andris Biedrins (ankle) still does not have a concrete timetable for his return. On Friday, he hinted that he may return soon. "We don't have a time frame now. We'll see how it feels before the Clippers game on Monday." Ronny Turiaf started in his place again Saturday against Oklahoma City and managed 14 points with four rebounds. He also blocked three shots.
Analysis: Biedrins will be a risky play for the upcoming scoring period, especially with the Warriors playing just three games in Week 18. However, his status also makes Turiaf a risky play in weekly leagues as his production stands to take a hit whenever Biedrins returns. He is best saved for daily leagues at the moment.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports Warriors center Andris Biedrins didn't practice Tuesday, although he came out for some light shooting afterward. Biedrins, who rolled his ankle Feb. 6, will miss his fourth straight game Wednesday night against the Lakers. Ronny Turiaf will again start for Golden State.
Analysis: It sounds like Biedrins will take more time before coming back from the injury, so keep him reserved in daily leagues Wednesday. Turiaf will remain a valuable option as his replacement and is worth starting as long as Biedrins is out.
News: The Golden State Warriors are playing their best basketball of the season and Stephen Jackson believes he knows why: Ronny Turiaf. Since replacing injured center Andris Biedrins in the Warriors starting lineup, Turiaf has provided Golden State with a big boost inside after doing the same off the bench all season. Turiaf recorded his first double-double in nearly two years with 14 points and 11 rebounds while helping lead the Warriors to a 105-98 victory against Portland on Thursday. "He's just been our brick wall," Jackson said. "It's just something where he's behind us and he's always there. He's Mr. Reliable. He's definitely been the key to the way we've been playing these last couple of games and I've got to take my hat off to him, he's doing an excellent job."
Analysis: Biedrins, Golden State's leading rebounder and one of the team's most consistent scorers, injured his right ankle during a 115-105 loss to Phoenix on Feb. 6. At the time, it seemed just another blow to the injury-plagued Warriors, but Turiaf has almost made it a moot point. Against Portland and 7-foot center Greg Oden, Turiaf had the breakout performance the Warriors have been hoping for ever since they signed him to a four-year contract in the offseason. "I knew coming into this situation I was the backup center and I knew my position," Turiaf said. "I'm just trying to hold the fort down for Andris. I envision myself playing alongside him and I know for a fact that he does the same thing. We know we play pretty good off each other. I just told him to hurry up." As long as Biedrins remains out, Turiaf will remain a solid Fantasy option. Biedrins is expected to return following the All-Star break, but nothing definite has been set.
News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Andris Biedrins sprained his right ankle in Friday's game at Phoenix and will be out indefinitely. Biedrins came down on Stephen Jackson's foot underneath the basket and immediately crumpled to the floor in pain on the final play of the third quarter. X-rays taken after the game were negative, and he will be re-evaluated at home. "It's sore, it hurts, and it's hard to walk now, but I guess I'll be alright," said Biedrins, who was wearing a compression sock and an ankle brace as he moved gingerly around the locker room. With the Warriors already severely short on big men, Biedrins' injury immediately bumps Ronny Turiaf into the starting lineup and forces little-used forwards Rob Kurz and Jermareo Davidson into the rotation.
Analysis: Biedrins has missed just one game this season and six last year - due to an emergency appendectomy - after playing all 82 games in 2006-07. "I don't think Goose has even had an injury since I've been here that I can remember," Warriors coach Don Nelson said. "It'll be very strange playing without him." That quote leads us to believe that the Warriors are prepared to play without him possibly through the All-Star break late next week. Fantasy owners should begin making other plans for the upcoming week. Spencer Hawes is replacing Brad Miller in the upcoming scoring period in Sacramento and makes a good stopgap play, though, Turiaf is also worth a look as Biedrins' direct replacement. Hawes offers better offensive upside, but Turiaf is a better rebounder and shot-blocker.
News: Nobody ever said that Golden State C Ronny Turiaf was a scorer. He picked up double digit rebounds for the second straight game on Saturday as he started and played 32 minutes against the Rockets. Turiaf, however, only managed four points for the second consecutive night on 2-of-8 shooting. He did have four blocks.
Analysis: Turiaf is playing well, despite the scoring, and deserves to be picked up in deeper leagues as he has eligibility as a center. He's averaging five points, six boards and almost 2.5 blocks per game over his last five and his last two games were his best of the bunch.
News: Warriors rookie Robert Kurz started in place of an injured Andris Biedrins (wrist) on Wednesday against the Thunder but was replaced by Ronny Turiaf less than four minutes into the game. Kurz finished with six points and one rebound. Turiaf added eight points, eight assists and six rebounds in 40 minutes.
Analysis: Turiaf would have more Fantasy value than Kurz at this time if Biedrins is expected to miss a significant amount of time. For now, consider adding Turiaf in deeper leagues if you need a stopgap option, and leave Kurz on the waiver wire.
News: Warriors C Ronny Turiaf returned to the lineup Monday against the Magic after missing two games with the flu. He had five points and four rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Turiaf plays nearly 17 minutes off the bench per game for the Warriors, but he is one of those players that is far more important to his real team than Fantasy owners. He has marginal Fantasy appeal when healthy.
News: Golden State forwards Ronny Turiaf and Brandan Wright were not with the team on Saturday night against the Nuggets because both were battling a case of the flu.
Analysis: Turiaf does not do much other than block shot and is a player to be reserved or left on the waiver wire in most leagues. Wright does not have a prominent role in the rotation and should also be reserved for now.
News: Golden State F's Ronny Turiaf and Brandan Wright both missed Friday's game against Houston because of the flu. They are each considered day-to-day.
Analysis: Turiaf does not do much other than block shot and is a player to be reserved or left on the waiver wire in most leagues. Wright does not have a prominent role in the rotation and should also be reserved for now.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Ronny Turiaf blocked five shots in 18 minutes in Monday's game against Miami. He now has blocked at least one shot in 24 consecutive games, dating back to last season with the Lakers.
Analysis: Turiaf does not do much other than block shots, unfortunately. Leave him for deeper category-based leagues until his role on the team changes.
News: Golden State F Corey Maggette was held out of Wednesday's game against Denver with a strained left hamstring. Ronny Turiaf replaced him in the starting lineup. Turiaf finished the game with seven points and four rebounds in 20 minutes.
Analysis: Turiaf scored the most points he had all season in just his second game with 15-plus minutes of playing time. Until his role on the team changes, he continues to have minimal Fantasy value.
News: The Warriors have some of the best matchups for Fantasy Week 2 (Nov. 3-9) with a full, four-game slate that includes two tilts against Memphis and games against Denver and Sacramento. The Grizzlies have played some surprisingly good defense this season early on, but they are a team that gave up 106.9 points per game last season. Denver allowed the second most points in the NBA last season (108.8 ppg) and they lost their best defensive player, Marcus Camby in the offseason. Sacramento allowed 104.8 ppg a season ago and they too lost their best defensive player, Ron Artest.
Analysis: Ronny Turiaf does not get nearly enough regular playing time to benefit greatly from this, but it does make him somewhat appealing in larger Fantasy leagues. Turiaf did play 33 minutes against Toronto in Week 1, managing five blocks, but only four points and five rebounds. Turiaf had 10 blocks in three games during Week 1.
News: The Warriors will play three games in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 2). They begin the season on Oct. 29 against New Orleans, moving on to play at Toronto on Oct. 31 and at New Jersey on Nov. 1. The Hornets allowed just 95.6 ppg last season, the Raptors 97.3 and the Nets 100.9.
Analysis: The Warriors will be without Monta Ellis for the first month and a half of the season, creating a situation for a rookie to start the year at point guard. DeMarcus Nelson has been tabbed as the starter for the beginning of the season, winning the job over more experienced Marcus Williams. While he is worth picking up as a reserve in the hopes he proves useful, Week 1 is not the right time to start him. He'll be matchup up against Chris Paul, Jose Calderon and Devin Harris. It could be a tough week for the rookie. Corey Maggette, Stephen Jackson and Andris Biedrins should be considered safe starts in a three-game week. Al Harrington can be useful as a low-end option at forward or as a No. 2 center. Kelenna Azubuike is worth owning as a reserve, but is a very low-end starting option for now. Williams showed in the preseason that he can't be relied upon yet. Marco Belinelli, Barandan Wright and Anthony Randolph are just player to monitor for now.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Ronny Turiaf, signed away as a free agent from the Lakers in the offseason, is a key performer for the French national team. He had 11 points and four rebounds in his country's win over Belgium to tip off the EuroBasket 2009 qualifying event.
Analysis: Turiaf will be an erratic Fantasy option in Don Nelson's erratic rotation and will be worth no more than a late-round pick in larger Fantasy formats. He will be penciled in as a backup to starter Andris Biedrins at center.
News: According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Warriors reached an agreement with Andris Biedrins on a six-year, $63 million deal Sunday. The move means Turiaf will not have a chance to compete for a starting job like he would have had Biedrins taken an offer to play in Europe.
Analysis: Biedrins should once again be around 10 points and 10 rebounds in 2008. Fantasy owners can still consider him a reliable No. 2 Fantasy center or a low-end No. 1 in deeper formats. Turiaf will be an erratic Fantasy option in Don Nelson's erratic rotation and will be worth no more than a late-round pick in larger Fantasy formats.
News: The Lakers failed to match Golden State's contract offer to C Ronny Turiaf, allowing him to sign with the Warriors.
Analysis: Turiaf will be penciled in as a backup to starter Andris Biedrins, but there could be a possibility he gets significant playing time if talks of Biedrins bolting to Europe turn out to be true. For now, Turiaf is no more than a late-round sleeper pick in Fantasy.
News: The Los Angeles Lakers have given qualifying offers to restricted free agents Sasha Vujacic and Ronny Turiaf. General manager Mitch Kupchak announced the moves Monday. As restricted free agents, Vujacic and Turiaf may sign an offer sheet with any team, but the Lakers would have the right to match.
Analysis: Turiaf got some added playing time due to the injury to Andrew Bynum that sidelined him for most of the season. He stands to lose minutes in 2008-09 in L.A. with Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol around and is only going to be worth a late-round pick in Fantasy drafts.
News: Lakers F/C Ronny Turiaf appeared in a career-high 78 games during the 2007-08 regular season. He started 21 games -- 11 of them at center and 10 at power forward. He averaged 1.4 blocks per game, a career high, and 18.7 minutes per game.
Analysis: Turiaf got some added playing time due to the injury to Andrew Bynum that sidelined him for most of the season. He stands to lose minutes in 2008-09 with Bynum and Pau Gasol around, but there is a possibility that Chris Mihm could leave town. Turiaf is only going to be worth a late-round pick in Fantasy drafts.
News: Lakers F Ronny Turiaf made his ninth start of the season at center Wednesday against Charlotte, leaving him one game away from center eligibility in CBSSports.com leagues that use multiple positions. He had 12 points and four rebounds in the game.
Analysis: Turiaf will get at least one more start with Pau Gasol (ankle) not expected back until Sunday at the earliest. Unfortunately, Fantasy owners will not get to enjoy his new-found eligibility as Gasol's return will make Turiaf a lightly used backup in L.A.
News: Lakers F/C Pau Gasol (ankle) didn't return to action Sunday against the Warriors and there is still no timetable for his return. Ronny Turiaf started in his place again and had 16 points with six rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal.
Analysis: Turiaf is now three starts away from gaining center eligibility in CBSSports.com leagues that use dual-eligibility. He should gain that by the end of the week. He is averaging 12.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 bpg over his last five games. Such a combination of stats makes him useful in larger formats as a No. 2 Fantasy center.
News: Lakers F/C Pau Gasol (ankle) didn't return to action Friday against the Sonics, and coach Phil Jackson said he didn't know when he'll return. Ronny Turiaf will continue to start in Gasol's place.
Analysis: Turiaf is now four starts away from gaining center eligibility in CBSSports.com leagues that use dual-eligibility. He should gain that by the end of next week. Turiaf is averaging 9.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists over his last five games. Such a combination of stats makes him useful in larger formats -- especially in Rotisserie play as a low-end stopgap.
News:Ronny Turiaf made another start in place of injured center Pau Gasol Sunday at Houston. He scored 13 points with eight rebounds, three blocks and two assists before fouling out.
Analysis: Turiaf should get at least two more starts in place of Gasol, but remains a somewhat risky start for the upcoming scoring period. Gasol is expected to return March 21 against Seattle, which means Turiaf could return to an unproductive role for the final two games of the upcoming scoring period.
News: The Los Angeles Times reports that Pau Gasol is out for at least the next three games because of the sprained left ankle he suffered Friday night against the Hornets. He joins Andrew Bynum (knee) and Chris Mihm (ankle) on an ever-growing injury report. "We'll have to play a different style of basketball," Coach Phil Jackson said.
Analysis: The team will likely choose to use Ronny Turiaf in his place, but he's a low-end option as as stopgap. Think about taking a flier on him in deeper Rotisserie leagues for help in the rebounding category.

News: The Lakers have named Ronny Turiaf their starter at power forward. According to The Sports Xchange, Turiaf is a high-energy, defensive-minded player who head coach Phil Jackson thinks will give the Lakers more of a lunch-pail attitude.
Analysis: This move certainly increases Turiaf's Fantasy value, seeing as he only played 15.1 minutes per game last season. He has the ability to average close to 10 ppg and 10 rpg in a starting capacity. Think of him as a low-end forward but a nice late-round sleeper in Fantasy.
News: Lakers head coach Phil Jackson said he was "seriously considering" starting Ronny Turiaf over the ailing Luke Walton (hamstring) to begin the season, but the move would have nothing to do with Walton's injury and everything to do with Turiaf's athleticism. "He's somebody who really makes our defense and our offense really sparkle with energy," Jackson said of Turiaf, also citing his shot-blocking ability as motivation for the change. The move would also shift Lamar Odum from power forward to small forward.
Analysis: This move would certainly increase Turiaf's Fantasy value, seeing as he only played 15.1 minutes per game last season. He has the ability to average close to 10 ppg and 10 rpg in a starting capacity. Walton's value wouldn't drop too much as he'd still see plenty of action in a reserve role. Right now, this news is nothing more than speculation, though, so continue to draft Walton as a No. 3 or No. 4 forward in Fantasy and Turiaf as a late-round sleeper.
News:The Sports Xchange reports that Ronny Turiaf played for France in the Eurobasket 2007 Tournament in Spain, but was used for limited minutes.
Analysis: Expect more of the same this season with the Lakers. We don't expect him to see a large amount of playing time off the bench, making him a very low-end Fantasy option.
News: Lakers F Ronny Turiaf played in a career-high 72 games during the 2006-07 regular season, putting aside any issues that may have lingered from his previous heart condition.
Analysis: When healthy, he is just a low-end Fantasy reserve in the deepest of leagues. Leave him undrafted in most Fantasy formats this fall. He's only worth a late-round flier as a reserve in deeper formats.

He is listed as day to day. Turiaf had been playing better since Kwame Brown's return allowed him to play more at power forward, his natural position. News: Los Angeles Lakers center Kwame Brown will be sidelined approximately three to four weeks because of a bruised rotator cuff and bursitis in his right shoulder, meaning he'll miss the start of the season. Lakers spokesman John Black said Thursday that Dr. Neal Elattrache, a shoulder specialist, examined Brown a day earlier and made the diagnosis. Brown became the team's starting center after Chris Mihm injured his right ankle March 12. Mihm played only one game after that, and is still recovering from offseason surgery on his ankle. "Chris won't be ready by opening night," Black said. The Lakers open the season Oct. 31 against the Phoenix Suns. With Brown and Mihm both sidelined, possible options at center to start the season are the 18-year-old Bynum, Ronny Turiaf and Brian Cook. Bynum was the team's first-round draft pick last year and Turiaf was the second-round selection. Neither played much as rookies, and Cook is a natural forward. "It's a coaching decision," Black said.
Analysis: Bynum and Turiaf are both healthy right now, while Cook is nursing a sore ankle. He will probably be ready for the start of the season and is the likely player to start for the Lakers. Fantasy owners who took a flier on Bynum would like to see him start, but it is a longshot to happen under Phil Jackson. Turiaf is also a nice option, but doesn't have the experience or physicality to start for the Lakers. Stay tuned to further news out of Los Angeles. As far as drafts are concerned, Cook managed 7.9 ppg and 3.4 rpg in 81 games for the Lakers in 2005-06. If those are numbers that appeal to you, by all means pick him up. Bynum should only be drafted in deep leagues as a No. 3 center with the potential to have a decent sophomore season. Turiaf is not a viable Fantasy option at this time.
News: The Lakers spent much of practice Friday talking trash, pushing and shoving each other on their fourth day of camp. "It was testy some times," Lamar Odom said. "Everybody wanted to prove that they could play. Right about this time, you don't really get to show your individual stuff."
Analysis: This is a good sign. A team that many believe to be overly dependant on Kobe Bryant is at least showing some signs of life in training camp. Under the guidance of Phil Jackson, walking cane and all, this team could provide more Fantasy useful players than it has in several years. Odom is the team's second most useful Fantasy option behind Bryant, but there is more to sift through. Kwame Brown is a trendy sleeper pick as a No. 2 center in larger leagues with Andrew Bynum turning heads as a super-sleeper in dynasty formats. Chris Mihm has gained recognition as a viable option in deeper formats and even players like Vladimir Radmanovic, Chris Mihm, Smush Parker and rookie Jordan Farmar could all have varying degrees of Fantasy value over the course of the season.

Analysis: While the story is very heartwarming, Turiaf is far from being a viable Fantasy option at this point.
