News: CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger reports Thursday that the Bobcats have traded forward Hakim Warrick to the Magic for forward Josh McRoberts. USA Today reports that the Magic are expected to waive Warrick.
Analysis: Keep an eye on where Warrick lands after the Magic release him. If he does manage to stay with Orlando he would continue to have minimal Fantasy value. And unless he lands with a team where he can get increased playing time it's doubtful his production will improve dramatically.
News: Bobcats forward Hakkim Warrick had a solid offensive showing Friday against the Magic, scoring 15 points on 5 of 12 shooting. He grabbed five rebounds in 31 minutes of playing time, and made up for a subpar shooting performance by going 5 of 8 at the free-throw line. He added one steal, in a 106-100 win.
Analysis: Warrick has become more of a contributor recently, after sitting out much of the teams early schedule. Warrick is averaging 10.0 points over the last five games and 9.1 over the last 10. He is in the starting lineup, and has played 30 minutes or more in three of the last five games. Warrick's production remains inconsistent, but he can be considered a useful Fantasy option in deeper formats at this time.
News: Charlotte power forward Hakim Warrick returned to action after an illness on Wednesday night against Utah. Warrick played 18 minutes off the bench and scored 10 points with eight rebounds in the performance. He was 4 of 9 from the field with an assist for the Bobcats.
Analysis: Warrick is seeing a little more run lately but it hasn't really translated into consistent production. He has the ability to record double-doubles, but doesn't do it nearly enough to matter outside the deepest of Fantasy formats.
News: The Charlotte Observer reports Tuesday that Bobcats power forward Hakim Warrick is expected to return to action Wednesday against Utah. Warrick is getting over an illness for the Bobcats.
Analysis: Warrick missed Sunday's game at Detroit and could not practice earlier in the week but should be fine against the Jazz. He has a double-double among his last four performances but is averaging just 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game on the year while shooting just 37 percent from the field. His Fantasy value is low-end, when healthy.
News: The Bobcats have ruled forward Hakim Warrick out of Sunday's contest against the Pistons due to flu-like symptoms, according to NBA.com.
Analysis: After scoring in double figures during a three-game stretch in late December, Warrick has slowed down and scored just six points per game over his last two contests. Warrick has also seen an increase in minutes recently in place of Byron Mullens at power forward. However, he has been way too inconsistent during his eight-year career and has never been able to sustain any long stretches of productivity. Warrick should be back in action at some point during Week 11 (Jan. 7-13), so continue to monitor his status moving forward. Consider him a low-end option in deeper formats, when healthy.
News: Bobcats forward Hakim Warrick turned in another underwhelming performance during Friday's contest against the Cavaliers. Warrick, who earned his fifth straight start at power forward, finished with just four points in the 106-104 defeat on 1 of 4 shooting from the field. He made both of his free-throw attempts and also added two assists and one rebound to his stat line while logging 12 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Warrick has been starting in place of Byron Mullens at power forward over the past week and played well for the most part. However, his production has been slipping of late as he has failed to score in double figures in each of his last two games. This has always been the Warrick's problem as he has turned in plenty of solid performances over his eight-year-career, but has never been able to sustain any long stretches of productivity. While he should continue to see starters minutes until Mullens returns, owners should consider Warrick more of a low-end option in deeper formats heading into Week 11 (Jan. 7-13).
News: Bobcats forward Hakim Warrick turned in his most productive performance of the season during Wednesday's contest against the Heat. Warrick, who started in place of the injured Byron Mullens, dropped in a season-best 18 points and nine rebounds in the 105-92 defeat. He made eight of his 12 field-goal attempts and also added one steal to his stat line while logging 38 minutes of game action, which was also a season high.
Analysis: Warrick got the first shot at starting in place of Mullens Wednesday and based on his performance it appears to be his job to lose. However, this isn't the first time we have seen Warrick show slashes of his potential. The 30-year-old has turned in plenty of solid performances over his eight-year-career, but has never been able to sustain any long stretches of productivity. While Warrick will likely continue to see starts in Mullens' absence, owners should take more of a wait-and-see approach with the 30-year-old.
News: Bobcats forward Hakim Warrick enjoyed his best performance of the season during Friday's contest against the Warriors. Warrick scored a season-high nine points and grabbed six boards in a 115-100 defeat. He went 3 of 8 shooting from the field and converted 3 of 4 free throw attempts on the night. He also added two assists and a steal in 24 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Warrick has only checked into 10 games for the Bobcats this season and is averaging 3.4 points per game this season. At this point, he is too inconsistent and does not earn enough playing time to be making any sort of Fantasy impact. Continue to ignore him in all formats moving forward.
News: In a swap of minor role players Tuesday, Charlotte acquired forward Hakim Warrick from New Orleans in exchange for guard Matt Carroll. Warrick played in only one game this season after being acquired by the Hornets in July. Carroll hasn't been in the Bobcats' rotation.
Analysis: In 499 games over eight NBA seasons with five teams, Warrick has posted averages of 9.5 points and 4.1 rebounds. His versatility allows him to play several positions and he has also registered a quality .494 field-goal percentage in his career. Still, he is not expected to make an impact with the Bobcats and should be left on waivers in all Fantasy formats.
News: The Suns agreed to a three-team deal Wednesday that sent center Robin Lopez and forward Hakim Warrick to New Orleans, with the Timberwolves sending guard Wesley Johnson to Phoenix. The deal included a sign-and-trade for Lopez. The trade is not 100 percent official at this time, however, as there are some moving pieces that the various sides need to figure out. The trade is expected to be completed and approved soon.
Analysis: Warrick suffered through the most difficult season of his career in 2011-12, as he shot just 41.1 percent from the field in 35 games for Phoenix. He fell out of the rotation and was unlikely to see much playing time this season, so this move might open up some minutes for him. He has averaged double digits in scored in his career, however not since 2008-09, so Fantasy owners should largely ignore him on Draft Day.
News: Suns forward Hakim Warrick got 17 minutes of action on Thursday night against the Mavericks. Warrick played in just four games in all of February for the Suns as he slid out of the rotation. He shot 1 for 5 from the field and go 7 for 10 at the charity stripe, finishing with nine points. Warrick added four rebounds and a steal in Phoenix's 96-94 win.
Analysis: The fact Warrick hasn't seen much court time for the Suns doesn't translate into much Fantasy value. Owners in the deepest of formats should keep an eye on the Suns to see if they move anyone at the trade deadline or if a shift of the rotation is occurring again. Warrick should be available off the waiver wire in most formats, but don't add him after getting into one game.
News: Suns F Hakim Warrick saw meaningful minutes during Saturday night's contest against the Grizzlies. Warrick, who has appeared in each of Phoenix's last three games, finished with eight points in the 86-84 defeat. He shot 2 of 7 from the field and also chipped in six rebounds, while logging 18 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Warrick was in coach Alvin Gentry's doghouse for a few games, but it appears he was able to work his way back into the rotation. The 29-year-old has now appeared in each of Phoenix's last three games and is averaging 22 minutes over that stretch. However, until he proves he can be produce on a somewhat consistent6 basis, owners should leave him reserved or on the waiver wire in most formats.
News: Suns F Hakim Warrick was once again not much of a factor during Tuesday night's contest against the Bulls. Warrick finished with just two points during the 118-97 defeat, on 1 of 2 shooting from the field. He also hauled in one rebound, while logging just 10 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Warrick appears to have fallen out of favor with coach Alvin Gentry as he continues to see limited minutes off the bench. He has not seen more than 20 minutes in a single game since back in early January and is averaging just 3.4 points over his last five contests. Unless he somehow works his back into Phoenix's rotation, owners should continue to ignore the 29-year-old.
News: After scoring in double figures in his first three games of the season, Phoenix PF Hakim Warrick only managed eight points over 16 minutes on Monday against Golden State. Warrick shot 3 of 9 from the field in the game and added three rebounds and an assist. Warrick had seen at least 24 minutes in each of his three previous contests.
Analysis: Warrick started out hot for the Suns as he went 18 for 33 from the field in his first three games to average 15.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and a block. If Warrick kept that up, he'd be owned in more than 11 percent of Fantasy leagues. Instead, he came back down to Earth and is expected to be inconsistent this season for Phoenix. Warrick should be considered just a low-end Fantasy PF for use in deeper formats.
News: After not playing in the season opener, Suns F Hakim Warrick made his 2011-12 debut on Wednesday night against the 76ers. He scored 14 points in the 103-83 loss. He went 7 for 13 from the floor while playing 32 minutes off the bench. Warrick also collected three rebounds and a blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Warrick has fallen down the depth chart this season and the only reason he played so much on Wednesday was due to Philadelphia's big lead for most of the game. He can be a low-end option in Fantasy when seeing minutes but owners should plan on leaving him on waivers in the majority of formats at this point.
News: The Suns are ecstatic to have the services of Robin Lopez, Marcin Gortat, Channing Frye and Markieff Morris in the frontcourt. Unfortunately, that also means Hakim Warrick could be the odd man out, reports the Arizona Republic Monday. Warrick appeared in 80 games last year and averaged 17.7 minutes, 8.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. "Probably, but he's played real well," Gentry said of Warrick. "We've even tried him some at three (small forward) to see if that's a possibility and he shot the ball well from the perimeter. I would love it if everybody played so great that we had a problem to figure out who should play night in and night out."
Analysis: Warrick has been dealing with the flu in practice and that is another thing that is pushing him down the depth chart at a time when he needs to prove he belongs. That said, Warrick would apparently welcome a move to the wing, should it arise. "I like it," the seventh-year pro said. "That's something I've been working on in the summer, working on my ball-handling and to be able to go out there against smaller threes in the post. Being more consistent with my outside shot will allow me to play the three some more. It opens up everything else for me when I knock that shot down. We've got a lot of bigs. That's why I worked so hard. For me, the biggest thing is for me to be able to go out and guard three-men." As it stands, Warrick is just a low-end Fantasy option.
News: After signing a 4year, $18 million deal in the offseason in hopes of filling some of the void left by Amar'e Stoudemire's departure to New York, Suns forward Hakim Warrick was terribly inconsistent this season. His uninspiring play led to him seeing just 17.7 minutes per game on average, resulting in just 8.4 points per game in his first campaign in Phoenix. Warrick scored less than nine points per game for the first time since his rookie year in the league in 2005-06. His rebounding was in the same company, posting just 3.7 boards per game, again the lowest since his first pro season.
Analysis: Warrick did get off to a solid start to the year, averaging 13.4 points and nearly five rebounds per game in November. He had eight games of 15-plus points to his name at that point as well as a double-double. However, in the time between the beginning of December through the end of the season in April, Warrick scored 15 or more points seven times, with two double-doubles. Fantasy owners took a shot with him just after the 10th round on average in CBSSports.com leagues, though he never performed to that ability. The Syracuse product finished the season as the No. 88 scoring Fantasy forward in standard formats, well under expectation heading into the year. Heading into 2011-12, we expect him to be a late-round option at best. Select him as such with hopes of some improvement on a rebuilding Suns team.
News: Suns forward Hakim Warrick did not shoot the ball very well during Sunday's 111-88 loss to the Magic. Warrick, who was making his third straight start for the injured Channing Frye, finished with just seven points in the contest on 1 of 7 shooting from the field. He went 5 of 6 from the charity stripe and also added eight rebounds to his statline while logging 29 minutes.
Analysis: After garnering the attention of most Fantasy owners with his 32-point performance against the Rockets, Warrick has started to come back down to earth. The 28-year-old has scored a combined 19 points in the two games that have followed and is shooting just 29 percent (5 of 17) from the field over that stretch. Still, Warrick should continue to start for Phoenix in Frye's absence, which will give him plenty of opportunities to get his numbers. However, keep in mind that Warrick's production has always been a bit inconsistent over the his career. The Suns play four times during Fantasy Week 21 (March 14-20).
News: Suns forward Hakim Warrick scored a career-high 32 points in Tuesday's 113-100 win over the Rockets. Warrick, who was starting in place of the injured Channing Frye, made 14 of his 19 shot attempts in the contest with many coming in the form of mid-range jump shots. "I got a couple of layups that got me going and Steve (Nash) just kept feeding me," Warrick said. "I just had to knock it down. This game is mostly confidence so you see the ball go in the basket, you are going to continue to be aggressive and no matter what I'm going to be aggressive but once you some early buckets it really helps you out." Warrick also grabbed eight rebounds in the contest to go along with four assists and a steal while logging a season-high 40 minutes.
Analysis: Warrick was on fire on Tuesday and turned in the type of performance many though he would be capable of producing on a nightly basis when he decided to join the Suns. While things haven't quite worked out that way, Warrick will now get a two-to-three week trial run as a starter with Frye sidelined with a shoulder injury. Fantasy owners in daily leagues should definitely take a flier on the 28-year-old while he will be getting big minutes, but try to control expectations. There is no doubt Warrick should be able to put up decent numbers with more opportunities, although 32 and 8 might be a little far fetched to expect every game. Keep tabs on how he handles his extended playing time.
News: Phoenix would love to see more out of power forward Hakim Warrick and on Monday against the Nets, he gave it to them. Warrick played 24 minutes in the 104-103 victory and scored 16 points on 7 of 12 shooting. That comes just one game after he scored two points on 0 for 4 shooting in 10 minutes at Indiana. Warrick grabbed seven rebounds Monday and chipped in two assists and a steal.
Analysis: Warrick plays inconsistent minutes for the Suns and his game can also be described as highly inconsistent. Over his previous 10 games, Warrick is averaging 5.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and half a steal and is getting just 12.7 minutes over that span. If he starts getting more minutes, he might become viable in very deep Fantasy leagues. However, that needs to happen first and right now he's just a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Suns forward Hakim Warrick scored in double figures for the first time since Dec. 17 last Friday. He got more playing time down the stretch as his coach, Alvin Gentry, told The Arizona Republic that it doesn't matter what his rotation is, but rather how good the teams' chemistry is during the game. "I thought he was as aggressive as he's been in a while," Gentry said. "I told him I shouldn't have to prod him along to be aggressive. We need him. He gives us the athletic-type guy we really could use."
Analysis: Warrick has seen his minutes drop under 10 minutes per game again -- less than a week from his solid outing in Utah. It seems he needs some more prodding from Gentry to keep himself motivated. Over his last 10 games, Warrick is averaging 5.8 points, 2.6 boards and is shooting 53.1 percent from the field. While there is some potential in Warrick, he's not doing enough to warrant much Fantasy attention. Keep scouting him, but Warrick should not be active in any format at this time.
News: After not scoring in double figures since Dec. 15, Suns F Hakim Warrick broke out of that slump on Friday night against the Jazz. He scored 16 points and hauled in six rebounds in the 95-83 win. He was an efficient 6 for 8 from the field and converted 4 of 6 free throws while playing 22 minutes off the bench. Warrick also chipped in with three assists and a steal in the victory.
Analysis: Warrick played over 20 minutes for the second straight game on Friday, the first time he has done so since mid-December. His production has been sporadic this season but he has shown some flashes of being a viable Fantasy contributor. He is averaging 7.6 points with 3.2 rebounds over his last five contests but he will have to start producing on a more consistent basis to have greater appeal. Keep an eye on his numbers over the next few games but leave Warrick for the deepest of Fantasy leagues going forward.
News: Phoenix PF Hakim Warrick is doing little these days for the Suns. On Tuesday in a blowout loss at Denver, Warrick played 20 minutes and scored just three points on 0 for 2 shooting and 3 for 6 from the line. He added three rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 14.5 minutes per game of late and is putting up just 5.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game over his last five. He still has over 10 points per game on the season, but that seems to be dropping like a rock now that Phoenix has added Marcin Gortat and Mickael Pietrus to the fold. Avoid Warrick in Fantasy right now.
News: Phoenix forward Hakim Warrick provided the Suns with energy off the bench at the beginning of the year and by the end of November was starting for coach Alvin Gentry. By the end of 2010, Warrick has found himself out of the rotation and didn't play a minute in the team's New Year's Eve win over the Pistons. Warrick told The Arizona Republic that he has learned to stay ready under circumstances such as these. "When you're losing, you've got to make changes," Warrick said. "Hopefully, we can get things rolling and get back in the playoff race." The Suns are currently 14-17 and Gentry is still tweaking his rotation to see how the new players acquired from Orlando fit into his playing style. "I've just got to bring more energy, being more consistent with energy on the defensive end," Warrick said. "I need to come in and be that energy guy."
Analysis: Gentry has said he's feeling out how to best use Warrick. That translates into Fantasy stock falling. With him falling out of the rotation to finish out December, Warrick has scored just 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds over the last six games of the month. Despite being a nice pickup to start the season, Fantasy owners should bail on Warrick for now. He's only worth stashing in the deepest of category-based leagues at this point.
News: Suns F Hakim Warrick posted his first double-double since Oct. 28 on Friday night against the Mavericks. He scored 15 points and hauled in a season-high 14 rebounds in the 106-91 loss. He went 6 of 9 from the field and converted all three of his free throws while playing 28 minutes off the bench. Warrick also chipped in with a blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Warrick has posted double-digit rebounds only twice this season but is averaging 10.4 points over his last five contests. His stats are up in almost every category this season and his scoring is the highest it has been since 2006-07. He should continue to put up decent stats as long as he is seeing solid playing time and seems to fit well with the Suns offense. With the Spurs, Heat and Clippers on the schedule for Week 9 (Dec. 20-26), continue to view Warrick as a viable option in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Suns F Hakim Warrick continued to be a productive force off then bench on Friday night against the Trail Blazers. He scored 14 points and hauled in six rebounds in the 101-94 loss. Warrick, who played 29 minutes, went 5 for 9 from the field and converted all four of his free throws. He is averaging 13.7 points with four rebounds in his last four contests.
Analysis: Warrick has done a solid job coming off the bench for Phoenix and is having a resurgent campaign in his first year in the desert. His scoring totals are his highest since 2006-07 and he appears to fit well in the Suns offensive system. While he has not totally replaced the production of the departed Amar'e Stoudemire, he is supplying Fantasy owners should some decent numbers. He is too inconsistent to trust as a starter in a majority of formats, but continue to view Warrick as a low-end forward option heading into Week 8 (Dec. 13-19).
News: Suns forward Hakim Warrick scored a season-high 26 points in Sunday's 125-108 win over the Wizards. "He just killed us on the pick and roll," Washington coach Flip Saunders said of Steve Nash. "Warrick came in and set screens and rolled to the basket and we did a poor job of handling at the point of attack." Warrick, who was scoreless in 7 minutes in his previous game, played nearly 29 minutes off the bench against the Wizards and shot 10 for 13 from the field. He hit 60 percent of his foul shots, hand out two assists and grabbed six rebounds for the Suns.
Analysis: It seems Warrick is very comfortable with his role off the bench as he had a good game for the Suns. If he continues to play solid minutes moving forward, Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a low-end forward option. Phoenix plays three games in Week 7 (Dec. 6-12) -- Portland twice and Memphis.
News: After getting his first start of the season Sunday at Denver, Suns PF Hakim Warrick was right back on the bench Thursday at Golden State. He played just nine minutes, scoring six points.
Analysis: According to the Arizona Republic, Warrick fits in better with the reserves and doesn't rebound enough for coach Alvin Gentry's liking. He has always been a good scorer when given ample minutes, but his playing time is back up in the air again. He's just a low-end Fantasy option.
News:The Arizona Republic reports that Suns F Hakim Warrick was listed as the team's starter at power forward over Hedo Turkoglu for Sunday night's game in Denver. "It's nothing against Hedo," Gentry said after walking out of the team's morning shootaround in Denver with Turkoglu. "His attitude is tremendous. He's down because he feels like he's not doing enough to help."
Analysis: Warrick has scored 20-plus points in back-to-back games and is a more natural power forward than Turkoglu, who is really a small forward by nature. He is a strong addition off the waiver wire in any format and may even be a good play in many formats immediately. The Suns have been trying to fill the void left by Amar'e Stoudemire's departure and while Warrick is no Amar'e, he has enough upside to be used as a No. 3 forward in standard leagues.
News: After scoring 23 points with seven rebounds in his previous game, Suns F Hakim Warrick followed it up with another solid performance on Friday night against the Clippers. He scored a season-high 25 points on 6 of 13 shooting and hauled in six rebounds in the 116-108 win. He played 37 minutes off the bench and got to the free-throw line early and often, converting 13 of 14 attempts. Warrick also chipped in with one steal in the victory. He is averaging 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds over his last four games.
Analysis: Warrick has put up solid point totals when given the playing time this season and has helped fill the void left by Amar'e Stoudemire in Phoenix. He is now averaging 13.1 points and 0.6 steals per contest, both career highs. Fantasy owners would like to see more rebounds and blocks from the big man, but he is breaking out of his funk and could be in for big things during the upcoming scoring period. With Golden State, Indiana and Washington up on the schedule in Week 6 (Nov. 29-Dec. 5) consider Warrick a viable option in most deeper leagues.
News: Suns PF Hakim Warrick had a great game Wednesday night during a double-overtime loss to the Bulls. Warrick, who got 36 minutes in the extended game, scored 23 points on 7 of 12 shooting from the field. He went 9 of 10 from the line and added seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 11.6 points per game on the year and is getting less than that over his last five games, despite his effort Wednesday. What that tells us is that Warrick is beginning to turn around a mini funk. His major problem is that he doesn't rebound or block shots as a big man should. For that, Warrick should only be active in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Phoenix forward Hakim Warrick scored just five points for a second straight night as the Suns lost both games on the team's trip to Florida. Warrick tallied 10 points between Wednesday's loss to the Heat and Thursday's loss to the Magic. He played 19 minutes Thursday, going 1 for 5 from the field and missing his lone 3-pointer. He did hit 75 percent of his foul shots. He added three rebounds and two steals in the Suns second straight blowout loss.
Analysis: Warrick normally gives Fantasy owners solid point and rebound production. But his last two games have been downright awful and not getting it done for the Suns or owners. He plays a big role for Phoenix and will continue to get his looks going forward. Owners in deeper leagues should just be patient with Warrick as he is a bench player and will have these off nights.
News: Suns PF Hakim Warrick only missed two shots in a monster game Monday as Phoenix defeated Denver. Warrick scored 21 points on 7 of 9 shooting and went 7 for 8 from the free throw line. He added three rebounds in 26 minutes.
Analysis: Warrick has been in double figures in three of his last five games and is averaging 13.4 ppg over that span. That comes with 3.6 rebounds but no blocked shots. Warrick gives Fantasy owners solid rebounding and scoring from a backup role and deserves to be used in deeper leagues across the board.
News:Hakim Warrick had 18 points for the Suns during Friday's win against the Kings, most of them on feeds from Steve Nash, who finished with 14 assists. "It's like having that big brother out there just making everything easy for you, and all you have to do is go out there and finish," said Warrick, acquired by the Suns in the offseason. "And he takes control as the general out there. He saw that they were out there blitzing and he makes adjustments just like a great quarterback." Warrick went 6 of 8 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. He added four rebounds and two steals.
Analysis: Warrick has been a valuable scoring option off the bench for Phoenix. He is averaging 13.0 points per game, which is a career high. Warrick is also converting a career-high 67.9 percent from the field. Basically, Nash is setting them up for Warrick to nail them down. It might take an injury to a starter for Warrick to be a Fantasy superstar, but he could pass as a low-end Fantasy start in deeper formats.
News: Suns F Hakim Warrick had his best offensive night of the season thus far with 19 points in Wednesday's game against the Spurs. He logged a season-high 31 minutes off the bench and shot 7 for 9 from the field while going 5 for 6 from the foul line. He added five rebounds. Warrick has averaged 23.0 minutes per game off the bench through four games.
Analysis: Warrick cut into Turkoglu's playing time on Wednesday as the Suns continue to try to sort out their power forward situation with Amar'e Stoudemire out of town. He is proving little by little that he could be the team's answer at the position and is a player with nice upside off the waiver wire. If he continues to play like this, he could be in line for a much more prominent role. However, inconsistency has plagued him throughout his career.
News: Phoenix forward Hakim Warrick used his energy and size to give the Suns a lift off the bench in Thursday's win over the Jazz. Warrick, who was brought in to help fill the void left by Amar'e Stoudemire, scored 18 points on 6-for-11 shooting performance. He also registered six foul shots for the Suns and grabbed 11 rebounds in his 26 minutes of action. Warrick would add a steal and an assist as the Suns went on to win the game, 110-94.
Analysis: Warrick saw more playing time on Thursday, which led to much better numbers and a win for the Suns. Warrick has bounced around the league and never been given a really good shot to be a big-time player for an NBA team. That time has come and he is making the most of his opportunity. With a fast paced offense built around Steve Nash, Warrick provides some bulk on the frontcourt for the Suns. Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end forward option at this time, but he does have a nice upside. If he adjusts to the new style of play in Phoenix quickly, he could a great addition to your Fantasy team.
News: Suns PF Hakim Warrick only got 18 minutes in the season opener against Portland. He made the most of his time on the court, however, as he scored 10 points on 3 of 6 shooting. Warrick added two rebounds and an assist and did not block a shot.
Analysis: Warrick definitely provided a boost off the bench but is going to need to get more minutes before he becomes an actual Fantasy contributor. The Suns are looking to fill the void at power forward with Amar'e Stoudemire leaving town and Warrick is an option for his offensive upside, though he has always been an inconsistent player at the NBA level. Until he gets more time, consider him just a low-end option in Fantasy with upside.
News: Suns F Hakim Warrick played 20 minutes off the bench in Sunday's game against the Raptors. He shot 5 of 10 from the field and contributed 14 points with five rebounds. Warrick entered play averaging 10.0 points per game in four preseason appearances.
Analysis: Warrick has been doing quite a bit with his limited playing time in the preseason and he's making a case for playing time once the regular season comes around. The Suns are looking to fill the void at power forward with Amar'e Stoudemire leaving town and Warrick is an option for his offensive upside, though he has always been an inconsistent player at the NBA level. Consider taking a late-round flier on him in deeper formats.
News: Suns F Hakim Warrick got the day off Wednesday as Phoenix played its second preseason game in as many days. Warrick scored 11 points in 16 minutes in Tuesday's preseason opener against the Kings.
Analysis: Warrick is a new addition in Phoenix and has some measure of sleeper value in deeper formats with the Suns looking to fill the void at power forward left by the departure of Amar'e Stoudemire. Continue to monitor his progress this preseason, though we don't anticipate him being a starter for anybody's Fantasy squad at the start of the regular season.
News: The Suns have completed sign-and-trade deals that will send Amare Stoudemire to the New York Knicks and bring Hakim Warrick to Phoenix. The Bulls receive Phoenix's second-round draft pick in 2011 after Warrick signed a four-year, $18 million deal and was sent to the Suns.
Analysis: The Suns turned to the 6-foot-9, 219-pound Warrick after it became apparent the Amar'e Stoudemire talks were at a stalemate, reportedly over the length of the deal. A former first-round draft pick (19th overall), Warrick has averaged 10.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in five NBA seasons, the first four with Memphis. Warrick appeared in 76 games last season, six as a starter for Milwaukee. He averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds. He is one of those great role players in the NBA, but his numbers on a nightly basis don't usually wow Fantasy owners. Even if he replaces Stoudemire, he won't put up Stoudemire-like numbers. Leave him as a low-end Fantasy option on Draft Day.
News: The Suns agreed to contracts with forward Hakim Warrick and and center Channing Frye on Friday. The person told The Associated Press that Warrick agreed to a four-year, $18 million deal on Friday, shortly after Frye agreed to a five-year, $30 million offer to re-sign with Phoenix. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the contracts can't be signed until July 8.
He signed with Chicago and appeared in just 28 games for the Bulls before he was traded to Milwaukee, along with Joe Alexander, for John Salmons. Warrick appeared in 76 games last season, six as a starter for Milwaukee. He averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds. Warrick is one of those great role players in the NBA, but his numbers on a nightly basis don't usually wow Fantasy owners. Even if he replaces Stoudemire, he won't put up Stoudemire like numbers. Leave him as a low-end Fantasy option on Draft Day.
News: Bulls forward Hakim Warrick will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. He is not expected to re-sign with Chicago. Warrick, who was traded to Chicago from Milwaukee during the season, averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds this past season. It was the first time he averaged less than double figures since his rookie year in 2005-06.
Analysis: Warrick will likely be a reserve wherever he signs. He has minimal Fantasy value and is only worth drafting with a late-round pick in deep leagues. Keep an eye on where he ends up, but he's not expected to play a significant role in 2010-11 in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: Chicago F Hakim Warrick scored 14 points in a loss to the Heat on Thursday. Warrick shot 4 of 8 from the field while adding seven rebounds in 19 minutes. Warrick has now scored in double figures in every other game over his last five contests.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 10.6 points and 3.4 rebounds over his last five contests. The only thing consistent with Warrick is his inconsistency. Some nights he won't break double figures and others he will go for 20-plus. Until he is able to be more consistent, Warrick is a low-end Fantasy option best reserved for deeper leagues.
News: Bulls F Hakim Warrick scored 13 points in a win over the Sixers on Saturday. Warrick shot 5 of 9 from the floor while grabbing five boards in 20 minutes. It was the third time in his last five games he has scored in double figures.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 11.6 points and and three rebounds over his last five contests. He can be inconsistent with his scoring and generally does not provide enough value on the boards for a forward. Fantasy owners should consider Warrick a low-end Fantasy option in the deepest of formats.
News: Chicago PF Hakim Warrick was a monster on Tuesday at Memphis with Joakim Noah out for the Bulls as well as three other of their leading scorers. Warrick scored the points but the Bulls still lost the game. He put up 22 points on 7 of 12 shooting over 28 minutes on the floor. Warrick added four boards and a steal and went 8 for 8 from the free-throw line.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 11.6 ppg over his last five but hasn't played this well in a while. We don't expect this consistently and consider him just a lower-end Fantasy option.
News: Bulls F Hakim Warrick scored 12 points in a loss to the Magic on Thursday. Warrick shot 2 of 7 from the floor while hitting eight free throws. He also added an assist and a rebound in 26 minutes. He has now scored in double figures in three straight games.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 9.8 points and 5.2 boards over his last five contests. Although the numbers aren't overwhelming, Warrick is generally able to get in the low double figures while bringing in rebounds. Consider him a solid stopgap in place of the injured Joakim Noah.
News: Bulls F Hakim Warrick had 10 points with eight rebounds in Saturday's game against Dallas. He has scored in double figures three times in his last five games.
Analysis: Warrick has not been consistent, but he has been able to put together lines like this on a semi-regular basis in the absence of Joakim Noah. He'll continue to see around 25 minutes per game and makes for a solid replacement option in Fantasy.
News: Chicago PF Hakim Warrick continues to play well since coming over to the Bulls and he scored 12 points with five boards on Monday at Washington. Warrick shot 5 of 9 from the field over 30 minutes on the court. He added two blocks.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 12.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game over 28.7 minutes in three games since joining the Bulls. Those numbers firmly implant him as a solid Fantasy option in deeper leagues. He's only owned in 23 percent of leagues right now so you might consider adding him. With Joakim Noah still not 100 percent and Brad Miller still fragile, Warrick could continue to contribute.
News: Bulls PF Hakim Warrick took advantage of extended minutes during his debut on Friday, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds against the Timberwolves. He logged 30 minutes, making 5 of 13 shots and recording one assist.
Analysis: Warrick could be an interesting addition for the Bulls. Averaging 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in just over 20 minutes a game on the season, he has the potential to become a viable Fantasy option if he continues to get the kind of playing time with Chicago he did on Friday. He has the unproven Taj Gibson to compete with at power forward, and could even see minutes at center with Joakim Noah out and a fragile Brad Miller filling in for him. While he might average 10 points and four rebounds the rest of the way, he's worth a look in the 19 percent of leagues in which he's currently available.
News: The Bucks acquired guard John Salmons from the Bulls and sent the expiring contracts of forwards Hakim Warrick and Joe Alexander to a Bulls team looking to make a move in free agency this offseason. Salmons has played in 51 games for Chicago this season, averaging just over 12 points per game. He is scheduled to make $5.8 million next season if he doesn't opt out of his contract. "He's a good pro guard," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. "He's been a solid player for quite a while, and we feel like we still need to solidify one of our perimeter spots, especially with Michael (Redd) out. So it made sense." The Bucks also obtained the Bulls' second-round picks in 2011 and 2012, along with the option to switch first-round picks in the 2010 draft - provided that Chicago's pick isn't in the top 10. Warrick has played in 48 games for Milwaukee this season, averaging 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Alexander, whom the Bucks took with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2008 draft, has struggled to make the jump to the NBA and currently is playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League.
Analysis: Warrick will likely help the Bulls off the bench, but he has minimal Fantasy value since the Bulls are looking at him more for salary-cap relief than anything else. The same goes for Alexander, so don't expect a huge Fantasy boost for either player following this deal.
News: Milwaukee F Hakim Warrick poured in 12 points to help the Bucks defeat the Heat 97-81 on Monday. Warrick played 26 minutes shooting 6 of 12 from the field to go along with six rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Warrick has scored in double figures in three of his last four games. He has averaged 14.8 points per game and four rebounds during that span. After having one of his best months in January, Warrick provides Fantasy value as a No. 4 Fantasy option.
News: Bucks PF Hakim Warrick had a big game against the Heat on Saturday, scoring 22 points and snatching six rebounds. In 28 minutes he shot 9 of 14, including 2 of 3 from downtown.
Analysis: Warrick concluded his finest month of the season by scoring at least 18 in two of his last three games. In January he averaged 12.3 points and 4.3 rebounds. However his only real Fantasy value remains in the deepest of formats.
News: Bucks PF Hakim Warrick scored 18 points Saturday against Minnesota. Warrick played 17 minutes and shot 7 of 8 from the field in the blowout win. He added three rebounds.
Analysis: Warrick didn't play in Friday's game at Toronto and saw just four minutes in the game prior to that. He's seeing just 14 minutes per game of late and had been doing nothing with the time he did get on the court. That said, he scored greater than a point per minute on Saturday. Now is not the time to trust Warrick as the Bucks play just three games in Week 14 (Jan. 25-31). Let's just hope he continues playing well and earns more time on the court.
News: Bucks F Hakim Warrick had a team-high 21 points to go with 10 rebounds off the bench Monday in Phoenix against the Suns. It was his third double-double of the season.
Analysis: Warrick has scored in double figures in five straight games, getting around 30 minutes of playing time in those contests. He's averaging 14.6 points and 6.4 rebounds over his last five games and is getting more playing time than Ersan Ilyasova at the power forward spot. He is worth taking a flier on off the waiver wire while he is playing this well.
News: Milwaukee PF Hakim Warrick was the team's top offensive performer off the bench on Saturday in an overtime win over the Thunder. Warrick scored 14 points in the contest on 5 for 15 shooting, adding eight rebounds in 36 minutes of action.
Analysis: Warrick had only six points in 17 minutes of action in the team's previous game at Orlando on Wednesday. He has become less and less of a factor with the Bucks of late, but has managed to score in double digits in three of his past four games. Warrick is worth using in the deepest of Fantasy formats but nothing more.
News: Bucks PF Hakim Warrick went scoreless in 10 minutes off the bench Monday at Indiana, contributing just three rebounds. He has scored less than 10 points in seven straight games after scoring 10 or more in eight of the previous 10.
Analysis: Warrick's production has declined since the return of C Andrew Bogut, who has regained his place as the team's primary inside scorer. Warrick no longer has any Fantasy appeal except as depth in deeper leagues.
News: Bucks PF Hakim Warrick, who had put up big numbers in Andrew Bogut's absence but scored only six points in Bogut's return Monday, got back on track Wednesday at Washington. He finished with 20 points and four rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench and is now averaging 15.7 points over his last six games.
Analysis: Looks like Warrick should continue to play a big role in the Bucks' rotation even with Bogut back. As a reserve, his consistency will suffer at times, but he's playing well enough to suffice as a No. 4 Fantasy forward.
News: Bucks PF Hakim Warrick recorded his second double-double of the season Wednesday at New Orleans, setting a season high with 22 points and equaling a season high with 10 rebounds in 33 minutes off the bench. He's averaging 15.3 points and 6.5 rebounds over his last four games.
Analysis: Warrick usually takes a back seat to Ersan Ilyasova, but when Ilyasova struggled Wednesday, Warrick stepped up his game. Warrick has this kind of potential if he could actually get enough playing time, but the Bucks appear unwilling to give him consistent minutes. He remains just a low-end forward in Fantasy.
News: Bucks SF Hakim Warrick, who scored 16 points in a rare 31 minutes off the bench Friday, played only 19 minutes for the second straight game Monday at San Antonio. He made the most of his limited playing time, though, finishing with 15 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Warrick's numbers have increased slightly with C Andrew Bogut sidelined by a leg injury, but the Bucks still seem unwilling to give him significant minutes. He has scored in double figures in only two of his last seven games, making him a low-end Fantasy option.
News: As expected, Bucks PF Hakim Warrick saw a boost to his Fantasy stats on Friday against the Bobcats. With Andrew Bogut hurt, the Bucks started Dan Gadzuric but it was Warrick who played the most minutes at 30. He scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He added a block.
Analysis: Warrick is likely to see a boost in offensive touches down low as well as in rebounding. He is a player that has been able to contribute good numbers in spurts in the past and will have the ability for increased production in the next couple of weeks. He's an excellent addition off the waiver wire where available.
News: Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut will be out for two to four weeks with a left leg injury. General manager John Hammond said late Thursday that Bogut suffered a leg strain and contusion in Wednesday's 99-85 win against New Jersey. Bogut scored 21 points and 11 rebounds before leaving the game in late in the fourth quarter. An MRI revealed the injury on Thursday. Dan Gadzuric and Kurt Thomas are likely to split time at center in his absence. Hakim Warrick is also likely to see a Fantasy boost.
Analysis: Warrick is likely to see a boost in offensive touches down low as well as in rebounding. He is a player that has been able to contribute good numbers in spurts in the past and will have the ability for increased production in the next couple of weeks. He's an excellent addition off the waiver wire where available.
News: Bucks F Hakim Warrick, who had gone four games without scoring in double figures, had to come off the bench Wednesday against the Nets. He didn't fare any better, though, finishing with eight points and six rebounds in 21 minutes.
Analysis: Warrick is now averaging 6.8 points over his last five games and is becoming less and less crucial to the Bucks' rotation. He looked like a sleeper coming into the season, but he doesn't deserve a roster spot in Fantasy right now.
News: Bucks PF Hakim Warrick scored 11 points and ripped down 10 rebounds on Tuesday in an 83-81 loss to Chicago. Warrick shot 5 of 15 from the field and added a block.
Analysis: Warrick picked up his first double-double of the season in three games. He scored 21 points in the game before Tuesday's but this was the first time he was in double digits in boards. Warrick seems like he'll be a solid double-double threat this season and is worth using in most deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Bucks PF Hakim Warrick, who spent the last four seasons with the Grizzlies, got to start in another preseason game Tuesday at Chicago and led the team with 25 points on 9 of 14 shooting. He also had six rebounds. In five preseason games, he's averaging 17.2 points.
Analysis: Warrick looks like he'll get a chance to start for the Bucks this season, which is good news in Fantasy. Whenever he got minutes in Memphis, he always produced, but he constantly found himself pushed out of the lineup because of younger talent. If you need points from your forward spot late in a draft, give Warrick a look.
News: Forward Hakim Warrick has agreed to a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. Terms were not released because the deal has not been completed, but its value is expected to exceed $3 million. The agreement was reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and yahoo.com earlier Friday.
Analysis: The former Syracuse star played the last four seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, averaging 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds in 82 games last season. Warrick could replace Charlie Villanueva in a sense after the team lost him through free agency. Warrick is a player with potential, but who has not always been given the opportunity to produce. Depending on how the Bucks plan on using Warrick, he could be a real sleeper in Fantasy drafts.
News: Memphis PF Hakim Warrick was the top bench performer for the Lakers on Sunday, scoring 12 points in 29 minutes of action. He went 4-for-9 from the field with four rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot.
Analysis: The Grizzlies were not very productive in general against a superior Lakers team on Sunday as Warrick outscored three of the Grizzlies' five starters. He had scored in double digits in each of his last five games, averaging 12.4 points per game and 5.4 boards. He is a player worth using in deeper formats for the final few days of the season.
News: Memphis PF Hakim Warrick led the Grizzlies with 20 points in a loss to Boston on Saturday. Warrick was 7-of-15 from the field and he added six rebounds.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 14 points and four boards per game over his last five. He has been scoring fairly well of late but his rebounds aren't there and that makes him mostly someone to consider in the deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Grizzlies F Hakim Warrick had 15 points in 25 minutes off the bench in Monday's game against Portland. It was his first game in double digits in five contests.
Analysis: Warrick has a ton of talent and has the ability to produce solid scoring numbers and decent rebounding numbers. However, his role off the bench does not lead to much consistency. He is not worth starting in any format until he can get on some sort of run again.
News: Grizzlies F Hakim Warrick had 17 points with three rebounds and three assists in Wednesday's game against the Clippers. He is still averaging just 8.0 points and 3.6 rebounds over his last five games.
Analysis: Warrick had scored a combined 10 points over his last three games and continues to produce at a very spotty level. He is in double figures in two or three straight and then in single digits the next two or three games. Fantasy owners have to avoid using him until he can get on some or of prolonged run again.
News:Hakim Warrick was back on the bench Wednesday at Indiana. Warrick played 20 minutes off the bench and had seven points and six rebounds. "It doesn't matter," Warrick said in the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "My role is to be an active body and get up and down the floor." Warrick had been struggling offensively as the starting power forward, so Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins re-inserted rookie Darrell Arthur with the starters. Hollins said he believes Warrick can return to form from the bench. "He plays better off the bench," Hollins said. "He's good at seeing and observing how he fits in playing against second-line guys who are less physical."
Analysis: Since Warrick scored 31 points Feb. 11 at Philadelphia, he's had just one double-digit scoring night in the past five games. Warrick had 13 points Tuesday in a loss at Cleveland. For now, consider Warrick a No. 4 Fantasy forward in all leagues.
News: Memphis PF Hakim Warrick had been playing well again of late but absolutely went off Wednesday night for 31 points at the 76ers. Warrick played 43 minutes and was 12-of-19 from the field as he added eight rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: Warrick has picked up his scoring with 17 per game over his last five heading into the All-Star break. He's adding eight boards per night and a block and is playing like a must-start option right now in all leagues of 12 teams or deeper.
News:Hakim Warrick had 15 points and a season-high 14 rebounds in Monday's win over the shorthanded Hornets. Warrick, a power forward, was 6-of-14 from the field and added three blocked shots.
Analysis: Warrick had been struggling but now has double-digit scoring efforts in three of his last four games. He's averaging 14 points, eight rebounds and over a block per night during that span and that would keep him serviceable in all 12-team and deeper leagues.
News: Memphis F Hakim Warrick was only able to hit two of the nine shot attempts he took in Friday's loss to the Clippers. He scored eight points in the game, going a perfect 4-of-4 from the line.
Analysis: Warrick has said he's still getting used to the coaching change in Memphis and he is apparently still unable to figure out his role. He is not performing at a high level and can only be used in deeper leagues right now. He can be stashed but owners can look elsewhere for a starter at the moment.
News: The Memphis Commercial-Appeal reports that Hakim Warrick is having trouble adjusting to new Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins and his system. Warrick had been used to his number being routinely called as the team's sixth man, but Hollins is asking him to run the floor and find shots within the flow of the team's motion offense. "It's going to take some time to figure things out," Warrick said. "I've just got to be patient with it."
Analysis: Warrick entered the weekend as the NBA's second-leading scorer among players who haven't started this season. He began Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers having made just 5-of-16 shots in two games since Hollins took over for the fired Marc Iavaroni. "He's got to find his way. I told him. The game is quicker so that means he has to run more and figure out where he can get his shots," Hollins said. "It's a learning process for him too." Warrick's shooting slump actually began before Hollins arrived. Before Saturday, Warrick made just 11 of his last 35 field goals (31 percent), averaging 8.2 points and 4.6 rebounds after a double-digit streak of scoring in double figures. He still has another solid run in him, though, and Fantasy owners should look to stash him through his struggles.
News: Grizzlies F Hakim Warrick was held to just six points in Friday's game in New York. He has scored a combined 13 points in his last two games, shooting 3-for-10 in that span.
Analysis: Warrick had scored 10 or more points in 14 straight games prior to this mini funk. He suddenly is seeing only a handful of shots in the offense after a prolonged stretch seeing double-digit shot totals in most games. Fantasy owners should not jump ship yet, but this is a setback after he surged back into Fantasy prominence beginning in late December.
News: Grizzlies PF Hakim Warrick recorded his third double-double of the season Monday against the Pistons, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes off the bench. He has now scored in double figures in 14 straight games, averaging 16.6 points during that stretch.
Analysis: Warrick doesn't start, but at least he gets starter's minutes now. He's certainly playing like a starter, and his scoring makes him no less than a No. 3 Fantasy forward. Time to get him active if you haven't already.
News: Grizzlies F Hakim Warrick had 18 points with six rebounds in Friday's game at Toronto. He is averaging 16.8 points and 5.8 rebounds off the bench in January.
Analysis: Warrick is still not starting, but he's at least getting starter's minutes now. He is averaging 32.4 minutes per game in January and is finally looking like the player he was in the second half last season. He should be viewed as a No. 3 or 4 forward now.
News: Coming off the bench Sunday, Memphis PF Hakim Warrick played a huge role in defeating the Dallas Mavericks. Warrick scored 18 points and added seven boards with a block in the big victory in 31 minutes. He was 6-of-13 from the floor.
Analysis: Warrick is playing so much more aggressively in the offense for Memphis and is taking at least 10 shots per game over 30 minutes in his last five. He's scoring 17.4 points and grabbing 6.2 boards with 1.2 steals and blocks over that span and is playing like a must-start in Fantasy in most leagues right now. If he's still available in your league -- 30 percent -- go ahead and pick him up.
News: Memphis PF Hakim Warrick scored 25 points in Tuesday's loss to the Suns. The point total is a season high for the former Syracuse star. Warrick added three boards and a block. He was 11-of-14 from the free throw line and 7-of-11 from the field with three steals.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 18.2 points over his last five games with 5.6 boards and a block. He's playing well above his season numbers and deserves to be owned in more than the 62 percent of Fantasy leagues he is right now. It's time to get him active in deeper leagues.
News: Memphis PF Hakim Warrick continued his hot play of late with 16 points and seven boards on Saturday night against the Spurs in a double-overtime loss. Warrick added a block in the game and shot 6-of-10 from the floor.
Analysis: Warrick is averaging 15.5 points and five boards over his last five games and he's getting more minutes because of it. It is finally time to get him off waivers and use him in deeper leagues. He's shown consistency of late.
News: A game after scoring a season-high 21 points, Hakim Warrick had just four points to go with five rebounds in Sunday's game against Miami. He played 21 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Warrick has shown some signs of a resurgence lately, averaging 12.4 points and 5.6 rebounds over his last five games. He is a very talented player who can be productive in the right situation. Don't forget he averaged over 15 points and just under seven rebounds over the last 36 games of last season. Think about adding him off the waiver wire, but keep him reserved until he can show some more consistency.
News: F Hakim Warrick matched a season-high with 21 points against the Bulls on Friday. Warrick was 9-for-12 from the field and also had six rebounds. Warrick's 12 points in the fourth quarter kept the Bulls at bay, snapping Chicago's two-game winning streak.
Analysis: Warrick is worth adding in all leagues as a No. 4 Fantasy forward. Hopefully he can keep up this type of production for the rest of the season.
News: Memphis forward Hakim Warrick had 18 points, eight rebounds and one assist Monday against Houston in 35 minutes off the bench. He has now scored in double figures in four-straight games.
Analysis: Warrick is worth adding in all leagues as a No. 4 Fantasy forward. Hopefully he can keep up this type of production for the rest of the season.
News: Grizzlies PF Hakim Warrick, averaging just four points over his last six games, scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting in 26 minutes off the bench Wednesday at Atlanta. He also had two rebounds, two steals and one assist.
Analysis: Warrick also had games where he scored 18, 19 and 21 points this season, and each time, he scored fewer than 10 in the following game. He tends to produce consistent numbers only when starting, so while he comes off the Grizzlies bench, he should remain reserved in Fantasy.
News: Memphis PF Hakim Warrick came off the bench Wednesday against the Knicks. Warrick played 17 minutes and scored six points. He added eight boards and shot 2-of-7 from the floor.
Analysis: Warrick is getting limited minutes off the bench in his last three games and his numbers are showing it. He hasn't scored or rebounded in double figures in the last three and he's getting overlooked by rookie Darrell Arthur. Warrick is still worth holding on to as a reserve because he averaged over 15 points and just under seven rebounds over the last 36 games of last season.
News: Grizzlies F Hakim Warrick once again played behind rookie Darrell Arthur Wednesday against Sacramento. He scored eight points with three rebounds and a steal in 21 minutes off the bench. Warrick has scored under 10 points in four of his five games.
Analysis: Warrick has not adjusted well to a role off the bench and has seemingly been tossed aside despite his strong second half finish last season. Rookie Darrell Arthur got off to a very quick start, but has tailed off a bit and that could help Warrick's cause. Warrick is still worth holding on to as a reserve because he averaged over 15 points and just under seven rebounds over the last 36 games of last season.
News: Grizzlies PF Hakim Warrick played just 14 minutes in Wednesday's season opener at Houston. He was 3-for-4 from the field and finished with eight points and two rebounds. Warrick saw rookie Darrell Arthur have a breakout game in his first ever regular season contest, which doesn't bode well for Warrick's minutes.
Analysis: Arthur came off the bench in the second quarter, but he was a monster. He contributed 15 rebounds and 11 points in 27 minutes and has obviously earned himself some playing time. Darko Milcic started at power forward and Warrick now has more competition for minutes than expected. Keep Warrick stashed, as he still has breakout potential.
News: The Grizzlies will have three games in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 1). They will face the Rockets on the road on Oct. 29, the Magic at home on Oct. 31 and the Bulls on the road on Nov. 1. Houston allowed just 92.0 ppg last season, Orlando allowed 99.0 and Chicago gave up 100.4.
Analysis: Rudy Gay is expected to be ready for the opener despite suffering from a staph infection in his leg. He's expected to start at small forward with rookie O.J. Mayo starting at the two-guard spot. Second-year guard Mike Conley will start at the point and rookie Marc Gasol may start at center for this very inexperienced team. Hakim Warrick could play a sixth man role off the bench, but should end up seeing starter's minutes and is still a breakout candidate entering the season. Darko Milicic will buy minutes with defense, but is not a recommended starter until he proves he can be relied upon regularly. Off the bench, Kyle Lowry should see decent minutes behind Conley and Mayo. Still, his appeal is limited to deeper leagues and he should be reserved in most Fantasy leagues for Week 1. There's no use for Antoine Walker Jarvaris Crittenton, Darrell Arthur, Marko Jaric or Iranian rookie Hamed Haddadi yet.
News: The Grizzlies started Darko Milicic at center and Marc Gasol at center Friday at Indiana. Hakim Warrick came off the bench. Warrick finished with 10 points, a block, a steal and a rebound in 18 minutes.
Analysis: Warrick is still penciled in as the starting power forward, but the Grizzlies have some options in the front court. Gasol and Milicic can both play center as can Hamed Haddadi, who will likely come off the bench. Warrick is still the most athletic and explosive scorer of the group and the Grizzlies will look to have him on the floor when they need to score, which may be a lot this season. Darko will likely be in for defense. Warrick still remains a solid Fantasy choice as a No. 3 forward. His second-half numbers indicate a breakout season could be in the cards for him this year. He averaged over 15 points and just under seven rebounds over the last 36 games of last season.
News: Grizzlies F Hakim Warrick saw his scoring, rebounding, assists and minutes play decline in his third NBA season. His scoring went from 12.7 points to 11.4, his rebounding from 5.1 to 4.7, his assists from 0.9 to 0.7 and his minutes played from 26.2 to 23.4.
Analysis: Warrick also started in just 30 games after starting 43 during his second NBA season. His role was reduced just a tad and his numbers reflected that reduction. But the fact remains he's a 25-year-old with a good amount of athletic upside and he can be a player with breakout statistical numbers should he find himself playing around 30-35 minutes per game. Unfortunately, he won't head into the 2008-09 regular season with that chance and will be projected for similar numbers. An 11-4-3 forward will certainly be worth drafting as a No. 4 option in most Fantasy formats in the middle-to-late rounds.

News:The Sports Xchange reports there have been times this year that Grizzlies forward Hakim Warrick has had trouble getting playing time, and the reason was inconsistent defense. Warrick started Tuesday's game against the Kings and delivered a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. But Memphis coach Marc Iavaroni loved Warrick's defense. "He wasn't just playing offense, he was playing defense well, especially when we played zone," Iavaroni said. "He was a zone guy at Syracuse, so maybe we found something for him."

News: Grizzlies PF Hakim Warrick, confined to a backup role this season with the emergence of Darko Milicic, scored 14 points in 26 minutes off the bench Saturday at Atlanta. He also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out two assists.
Analysis: Warrick hadn't scored in the double digits since mid-November and has only done so three times total this season. A viable Fantasy starter last season, he remains a low-end option this season and probably doesn't merit ownership in 20 percent of leagues.
News: After not being part of the regular rotation for the majority of the first eight games of the season, Grizzlies PF Hakim Warrick has begun to see more minutes because of his defense, according to The Sports Xchange. "He's playing tougher and more determined on defense," new Grizzlies coach Mark Iavaroni said. "I think he was just more worried about his scoring, but you don't need to be worried about scoring on this team. You're going to score."
Analysis: In back-to-back games recently, Warrick had 17 points and five rebounds versus Dallas, and 16 points and five rebounds versus Seattle, both in 25 plus of action. On Friday at San Antonio, he played just 13:34 and had just seven points and a rebound. "Whenever my name is called, I'm ready," Warrick said. "I'm not going to put my head down. Whether it's foul trouble or someone going down (because of injury) it's important for me to be ready." While his increased playing time no doubt improves his Fantasy value, he's still only an option for deeper leagues.

News: Grizzlies PF Hakim Warrick played just under six minutes Thursday in an exhibition game vs. Spanish team Estudiantes in Madrid, Spain.
Analysis: Warrick is not in a situation where he has much to prove and the team has no need to push their promising young forward. We expect a full breakout campaign from Warrick in his third NBA season, as is often the case for third-year players. His numbers make him attainable as a No. 4 Fantasy forward in Fantasy drafts, but we think he'll be a player that outperforms his draft value.

News: Grizzlies F Hakim Warrick had a rough outing against the Warriors on Wednesday going scoreless in 10 minutes. He had one rebound and one assist in the game.
Analysis: Warrick has been horrendous the past three games totaling just 12 points. His drop in production coincides with the hiring of Tony Barone and this the type of production we might expect to see from Warrick from now on. He has been one of the most dropped players in Fantasy leagues as of late and should be kept reserved in all leagues until he finds a place in Barone's system.
News: Hakim Warrick scored a career-high 31 points for the Grizzlies on Friday in a loss to the Bucks. He added a career-best 13 rebounds, but was ejected after picking up his second technical foul with 3:05 left.
Analysis: Warrick has been a fantastic player this season in his second year in the league. He has now scored in double-figures in eight straight games and is averaging just over 16 points a game. With Pau Gasol due back soon, it could cut into Warrick's production. But for the time being continue to use Warrick as a solid No. 2 or No. 3 Fantasy forward.

He makes a nice start in all leagues and should be in for a breakout season.

News: The Grizzlies will have Point guards Chucky Atkins and Kyle Lowry, shooting guard Dahntay Jones, small forward Brian Cardinal, power forwards Alexander Johnson, Lawrence Roberts and Hakim Warrick coming off their bench to start the season.
Analysis: Atkins is dependable and can hit open shots, but sometimes is a defensive liability. Cardinal spent all of last year battling back from offseason knee surgery. Johnson and Roberts have chiseled bodies and are aggressive rebounders. Warrick has worked hard in the offseason on his mid-range game. All of these players will have some value over the course of the season, making the Grizz a team to monitor when picking players up off the waiver wire.

As a rookie he played in 68 games, averaging 10.6 minutes, 4.1 points and 2.1 rebounds. Now that it looks his playing time with go up, Warrick’s Fantasy value is on the up-and-up. Analysis: The athletic Warrick might be thrown right into the fire with Stromile Swift as good as gone, Lorenzen Wright reportedly wanting out of town and the uncertainty of Bonzi Wells. Warrick might be a decent play in Roto leagues, especially in the blocks and rebound categories.
