News: The Washington Post reports that Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld would welcome back forward Martell Webster, who is a free agent this offseason. I think Martell played very well for us," Grunfeld said. "He had a very good year. ... Obviously, hes a free agent, and at the appropriate time, well sit down with his representatives to see if we can work out something that works for him and works for us.
Analysis: Webster finished the season averaging career-highs in scoring (11.4 points), 3-point shooting (1.8 per game), rebounds (3.9) and assists (1.9). He also nearly averaged a steal per game. Keep an eye on his status this offseason, but he's worth a late-round pick in the majority of leagues.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster has ruled himself out for the rest of the regular season, the Washington Post reports Sunday. Webster will miss the season's final two regular-season games due to his strained abdomen.
Analysis: Webster's season is over as he averaged career-highs in scoring (11.4 points), 3-point shooting (1.8 per game), rebounds (3.9) and assists (1.9). He also nearly averaged a steal per game. The 26-year-old will enter next season with moderate Fantasy value for deeper formats.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster was ruled out for Friday's contest against the 76ers due to an abdomen strain. Webster, who missed two games back in March with the same injury, was forced to leave Washington's loss to the Heat last Wednesday after re-aggravating his injury. The team is considering shutting him down for the season, the Washington Post reported Thursday.
Analysis: This move does not come as a surprise as there is really no reason for Webster to continue and tough it out at this point. Webster has been a value for the Wizards on a one-year contract at $1.75 million as he posted a career-best 11.4 points while appearing in 76 games. However, his best asset to Fantasy owners was his 3-point shooting as Webster knocked down a career-best 42.2 of his shots (1.8 per game) from behind the arc this year. The 26-year-old will be a free agent this offseason, so keep an eye on where he winds up. Webster could be worth targeting in the later rounds of deeper formats if he lands another starting gig.
News: The Washington Post reported after Thursday's game against the Heat that Wizards forward Martell Webster might be forced to miss the team's final three games after re-aggravating an abdominal strain. Of course I want to play the last three games. Will it happen? I dont know, Webster said. I want to exhaust every avenue until that point. The team has yet to make a decision on whether he will shut it down, but he is not expected to play Friday against the 76ers, according to coach Randy Wittman.
Analysis: If that is it for Webster this season, he will simply be putting an early end to the best of his career. He has played a career-high 76 games, and is averaging a career-high 11.4 points per game in those contests. Webster has been a value for the Wizards on a one-year contract at $1.75 million, but he should be in line for a multi-year deal and a hefty raise this offseason. Depending on where Webster lands this offseason, he should be a solid low-end Fantasy option, worth targeting at the end of drafts for his shooting ability.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster aggravated an abdominal injury Wednesday and was forced to leave the team's game against the Heat. He started the game but left in the third quarter, finishing with 12 points and four steals. He was unable to return, and his status moving forward is uncertain.
Analysis: Webster missed two games at the end of March due to this same injury, so this could end up costing him some time. The Wizards have just three games remaining in the season for Webster to get back in, so it would not be a shock if this is the last we see of him this season. When healthy, Webster can be a decent Fantasy option for threes and points.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster was finally able to get his scoring back into double figures during Saturday's contest against the Pacers. Webster finished with 13 points in the 104-85 win -- his highest scoring output in three games. He went 3 of 7 from the field, including 1 of 2 from downtown, and added three assists, two rebounds one steal and one assist to his stat line, while logging 24 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Webster is clearly not 100 percent right now as he has been playing through an abdominal strain that will likely require surgery in the offseason. The 26-year-old has only scored in double figures in two of his five games since returning to the lineup and is averaging just 9.8 points on 30.6 percent shooting from the field. Webster has also only connected on two of his last 16 attempts from downtown, so owners may want to look for a healthier alternative heading into the Week 24 (April 8-14) -- the final scoring period of the season.
News: Wizards guard Martell Webster, who had missed the past two games with an abdominal strain, was able to get back on the court for Friday's contest against the Magic. Webster finished with 19 points in his return on 7 of 18 shooting from the field. He went just 1 of 7 from downtown but did add six rebounds, three assists and one steal to his stat line, while logging 39 minutes of game action.
Analysis: There was some concern that Webster could miss the rest of the season with his injury, but he was able to tough things out Friday night. However, that doesn't mean Fantasy owners are out of the woods yet as Webster is still not at 100 percent and could be forced to sit for a game or two down the line if he is too much pain. Still, Webster is averaging 17.1 points over his last 10 games, making him a viable start in all formats when healthy.
News: The Wizards report Friday that forward Martell Webster is a game-time decision for Friday's game at Orlando. Webster has missed the past two games with an abdominal strain.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor what happens with Webster, and hopefully he will return Friday against the Magic. Even if he does play Friday, however, he would be considered just a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster missed a second game in a row Wednesday against the Thunder, as he continues to deal with an abdominal strain. Webster is being considered day to day with the injury, and will likely be a gametime decision for their next matchup Friday against the Magic.
Analysis: It appears as if Webster has been playing through this injury for a little while now, but it has not been determined how long, exactly. Webster is averaging 17.4 points in his last nine games, and could be a useful Fantasy option down the stretch, if he can overcome this injury.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster was ruled out for Monday's contest against the Grizzlies due to abdominal strain, reports the team's official website. Webster is being loosely considered day to day with his injury.
Analysis: Webster has appearantly been playing through his injury for some time now, but he reached his limit Monday night. While the Wizards are slated to play four times this week, there isn't a hard timetable set for Webster's return, making him a huge injury risk heading into the scoring period. Despite his red-hot shooting from downtown (44 percent), owners may want to seek a healthier alternative out this week.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster became Washington's first 30-point scorer this season during Saturday's contest against the Suns. Webster poured in a career-high 34 points in the 127-105 win on 10 of 18 shooting from the field. He matched a career-high by burying seven 3-pointers, with his last coming on the left wing in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. Webster shrugged toward the bench after the basket and then followed up with a reserve dunk moments later before being taken out of the game.
Analysis: While Webster turned in his best offensive performance of his career Saturday night, he has been lighting up the 3-point line all season long. The 26-year-old entered his latest tilt shooting a career-best 44.4 percent from downtown on the year and he has now made 19 treys over his last five contests. Webster is averaging 21.8 points over that span and should be able to keep things going moving forward as he will face some teams who have struggled to defend the 3-point line in Week 21 (March 18-24). Fantasy owners should continue to roll with Webster in the majority of formats while he is shooting lights out from deep.
News: Washington forward Martell Webster had a second consecutive solid performance on Tuesday during a loss at Cleveland. He played a team-high 42 minutes as he took 14 shots and hit six of them with five 3-pointers to score 17 points. Webster added four rebounds for the Wizards and also had an assist and steal.
Analysis: Webster has gone 9 for 19 from 3-point range in the last two games and is averaging almost three per night over his last handful of games. Playing well, Webster is seeing more minutes lately and can be active in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster dealt with tightness in his abdomen in the firts half of Friday's contest against the Knicks. He went to the locker room in the second quarter, but returned in the third quarter to finish out the second half. Webster went 4 of 7 shooting from the field, including 1 of 3 from downtown as he finished with nine points and five rebounds in a 96-88 defeat. He also chipped in with an assist and a steal while logging 37 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Webster appears to be fine after dealing with a minor abdomen issue in the first half. In fact, he came back in the third quarter and scored four of his nine points in that frame. The 26-year-old connected on 35 of his 69 attempts (51 percent) from downtown in February, which was the best percentage in the league for that month. Webster is looking to stay hot from beyond the arc in March and should be viewed as a viable option in in deeper category-based formats as long as he continues to drain his 3-pointers.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster continued his productive shooting from behind the 3-point line during Monday's contest against the Raptors. Webster, who entered the contest shooting a career-best 44.6 percent from behind the arc, made two of his three attempts from downtown in the 90-84 win. He ended up making four of his eight total field-goal attempts and finished with 12 points to go along with three rebounds and one steal.
Analysis: Webster has been red-hot in the month of February -- especially from downtown. The 26-year-old has now connected on 35 of his 69 attempts (51 percent) from deep this month, which is one of the reasons why he is averaging a season-best 13.1 points over his 11 games. While he doesn't offer owners much outside of the scoring and 3-point departments, his red-hot shooting has made him a more than relevant Fantasy option over the past few weeks. Fantasy owners in deeper category-based formats should continue to ride Webster's hot hand moving forward.
News: Washington forward Martell Webster played pretty well to start the second half of the NBA season Tuesday against Toronto. Webster couldn't help the Wizards avoid the loss despite scoring 16 points over 38 minutes. Webster went 3 for 5 from 3-point range and 5 of 9 overall to score 16 points. He grabbed eight rebounds and added four assists in the solid performance for the Wizards.
Analysis: Webster snapped a string of two consecutive games in single digits of scoring entering the All-Star break with his effort Tuesday. He's hit at least three 3-pointers in five of his eight games in February thus far and has become an excellent contributor to Fantasy owners looking for that stat. He doesn't do much else, but Webster can be active in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: With a torrid shooting stretch from behind the arc, Washington forward Martell Webster has been a key reason for the Wizards' recent turnaround. Webster has drained at least two treys in each of his past seven outings to boost his scoring average to 10.8 points per game on the season. During that span, has reached double figures in points six times while shooting an astounding 51.1 percent from downtown (23 for 45).
Analysis: Webster has been especially hot since the calendar flipped to February as he's carved a 58.1-percent clip from downtown, buoyed by a pair of outings with five 3-pointers. He is averaging 15.6 points per game this month while also logging at least 33 minutes in each contest. The additional playing time should allow him to keep firing away and he represents a great addition in Rotisserie formats for Week 16 (Feb. 11-17).
News: Washington forward Martell Webster had the hot hand on Wednesday as the Wizards took down the Knicks. Webster went 5 for 9 from 3-point range for the Wizards as he finished 6 of 11 overall to score 19 points over 40 minutes. He added two rebounds and two assists in the victory.
Analysis: Webster has averaged 20 points per game over his last two contests and 15.4 PPG over his last five. He's hitting 3.6 3-pointers per night over that span and has looked comfortable with 10 3-pointers in his last two games. As long as Webster is shooting like that, he can be active in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Washington small forward Martell Webster played a fabulous game on Monday in a win over the Blake Griffin-less Clippers. Webster saw 34 minutes as a starter for Washington and led the team with 21 points in the victory. He couldn't miss from deep as he went 5 of 6 from long distance. He was 6 of 10 from the field overall in the game and added five rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Analysis: Webster just missed tying his season high of 22 points and is averaging 15.2 PPG over his last five contests for the Wizards. Webster is really taking advantage of the scoring opportunities with Bradley Beal injured. He's nailing three 3-pointers per game over his last five and that comes with decent rebounding. Webster can be active in plenty of deeper Fantasy leagues the way he's lighting it up lately.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster continued his hot shooting during Monday's contest against the Kings. Webster connected on six of his nine field-goal attempts in the 96-94 defeat to finish with 18 points. He went 2 of 5 from behind the arc and also added three rebounds and two assists to his stat line, while logging 32 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Webster has been shooting the ball very well of late as he has knocked down more than 53 percent of his shots attempts over his last 11 games. He is averaging 12.6 points over that stretch and has also been giving owners 1.9 made treys per game while making 50 percent of his shots from behind the arc during his run. While Webster doesn't offer much in the rebound, assist or steals department, his ability to score as well as knock down 3s gives him value in deeper formats. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with Webster while he shooting the ball so well.
News: Washington small forward Martell Webster recorded a season-high 24 points to help beat his former team the Blazers on Monday. Webster was 8 for 11 from the field over 38 minutes with four 3-pointers in the performance. Webster added six assists and four rebounds in the solid game.
Analysis: Webster scored 23 points in his last three games combined and is averaging under 10 per game on the season for the Wizards. We don't believe he's going to become a scorer all of a sudden as Washington will want John Wall doing most of the scoring once he gets back to 100 percent. Webster is a solid source of low-end rebounding and 3-point shooting, but is otherwise a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Washington small forward Martell Webster didn't produce much on Monday but the Wizards still managed to win at home against Orlando. Webster played 19 minutes in the starting lineup and scored eight points on 2 of 3 from the field with a 3-pointer. Webster added two rebounds, three assists and two steals in the performance.
Analysis: Webster finished in single digits for the first time in a while in Monday's game and the Wizards still managed to win their third straight game. He's been playing well, however, averaging almost 14 points per game over his last five with 3.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.8 3-pointers per night. Webster isn't an elite option or anything, but he can be useful in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Wizards guard Martell Webster was able to find his scoring touch during Washington's 101-99 win over the Thunder Monday night. Webster dropped in a season-high 22 points in the victory on 7 of 14 shooting from the field. He made four of his six 3-point attempts and also added four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal to his stat line while logging 34 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Webster has been starting in place of Trevor Ariza at small forward for the Wizards but his run as a starter seems to be coming to an end. With Ariza now healthy, the veteran will eventually be worked back into the starting lineup, which will push Webster back into a reserve roll. While 26-year-old has been a decent source for 3-pointers this season, his inconsistent production makes him merely a low-end option in deeper formats. Continue to view him as such moving forward.
News: Washington forward Martell Webster continued to start and played 31 minutes in Tuesday's loss to Dallas. Webster scored 14 points for the Wizards but did so on 4 of 11 from the field. He hit two 3-pointers for the fourth consecutive game and added six rebounds and an assist.
Analysis: Webster has hit two 3-pointers in each of his last four games and is averaging 1.3 per game on the season. That is pretty much the extent of his Fantasy value considering he's also averaging under 10 points and just four rebounds per game.
News: Wizards guard Martell Webster turned in another productive performance as he posted his first double-double of the season during Wednesday's contest against the Cavaliers. Webster scored five points on 5 of 7 shooting, including 2 of 3 from downtown, and grabbed 10 rebounds (four offensive) in a 87-84 defeat. He also chipped in with two assists in 34 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Webster has scored in double figures in six of the last eight games and has picked up the pace down low as of late as he has averaged eight rebounds in his last three games. Webster has averaged at least one 3-pointer per game this season and should be viewed as a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Washington forward Martell Webster nailed three 3-point baskets during Wednesday's loss at Orlando. Webster went 3 for 6 from long range and 4 of 8 overall to score 11 points as a starter over 31 minutes. Webster added four rebounds, one assist, one steal and a blocked shot in the performance for the Wizards.
Analysis: Webster has scored in double figures in four of five games and is averaging 11.8 per game over that stretch. That is a nice boost from what he's been doing on the year. Webster hits over a 3-pointer per game but is otherwise a low-end option in most Fantasy formats.
News: With the loss of Trevor Ariza to a calf strain, Wizards forward Martell Webster has found himself in the starting lineup recently. He started his second game in a row Saturday against the Warriors, playing 25 minutes in a 101-97 loss. Webster scored nine points in the game on 3 of 10 shooting, while adding five rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals.
Analysis: Webster has seen his role increase recently, as he is averaging 25.4 minutes per game over the last five. He is averaging just 8.7 points per game on the season, however he could see that number increase with Ariza out of the way. At this point, continue to consider him just a low-end starting Fantasy option for Week 7.
News: Washington small forward Martell Webster played well on Monday in a loss to the Spurs. Webster scored 16 points over 25 minutes as he went 5 for 7 from the field. Webster hit two 3-pointers in three attempts and added four rebounds.
Analysis: Webster has finally woken up for the Wizards with three consecutive double figure scoring efforts. Webster has seven 3-pointers made in his last three games and is even beginning to rebound. Webster needs to keep it going and can start seeing use in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: After averaging just 4.4 points in his previous five games, Wizards forward Martell Webster got back on track Wednesday night against the Hawks. He scored 10 points and hauled in seven rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench. He went 4 for 8 from the field, including 2 for 4 from downtown. Webster also chipped in with two steals and a block in the 101-100 overtime loss.
Analysis: Webster scored in double figures for just the second time this season Wednesday as he has not been shooting well early on. He has a decent role off the bench, however, so he should be able to pick up his production going forward. Webster has never been a huge option in Fantasy so leave him for the deepest of formats at this point.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster was not a major contributor off the bench against the Pacers Saturday night. Webster was held to just eight points and four rebounds in a 89-85 defeat. He shot 2 of 4 from beyond the arc and made both of his free throw attempts. He also chipped in with an assist and a block in 20 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Webster saw some decent playing time off the bench and has been a solid shooter from beyond the arc. He has knocked down 12 of his 26 shots from downtown through five games this season but has reached double figures in scoring just one thus far. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect much from him as he has marginal value in most formats.
News: Wizards forward Martell Webster has a consistent role on the team, but his play has been uneven through the first two games of the season. Webster scored just four points on 1 of 6 shooting Saturday against the Celtics, with four rebounds and four assists, in an 89-86 loss. He is averaging 6.5 points per game through the first two contests of the season.
Analysis: Webster can provide some decent floor spacing for the Wizards, but his play has never been particularly consistent. Webster will likely continue to receive between 20 and 25 minutes per game, but dont expect much double-figure scoring for the seven-year veteran. He has little value in most Fantasy formats.
News: The Wizards signed free agent forward Martell Webster to a one-year, $1.6 million contract in August, and he is expected to contribute in the teams wing rotation. We really wanted to improve our perimeter play and Martell is a proven player and he has started a lot of games in this league, Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld told the Washington Post.I think hes a good complement to some of the players we currently have on the roster.
Analysis: The Wizards were one of the worst teams in the league last season in three-point shooting, so Webster will surely help them there, as a career 37.4 percent shooter from deep. It is not clear how many minutes he will get with the Wizards, who made two much splashier offseason acquisitions on the wing, in rookie Bradley Beal and veteran Trevor Ariza. He will likely split time between both wing spots, but is coming off a season in which he averaged just 6.9 points per game, so Fantasy owners should consider him just a low-end Fantasy option in category-based formats on Draft Day.
News: The Timberwolves agreed to a contract buyout for forward Martell Webster, choosing to pay him $600,000 to waive his rights rather than keep him for the $5.7 million he was due.
Analysis: Webster appeared in 47 games for the Wolves last season, averaging 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. He filled a part of their rotation at the wing, but with the Wolves moves this offseason, they no longer needed his services. He has some solid skills and will catch on with someone in the league, however Webster has not averaged double figures in scoring since 2007-08, when he was a 21-year-old with the Blazers. He is unlikely to be worth targeting on Draft Day in most Fantasy formats.
News: Minnesota small forward Martell Webster just missed recording a double-double on Tuesday night in a loss to Memphis. Webster shot 4 of 10 from the field and missed all three of his 3-point attempts as he finished with nine points. Webster added 10 rebounds. He also had two steals in the performance over 34 minutes.
Analysis: Webster has not shot well of late as he's hitting on just 40 percent in his last five games. That makes sense considering he's only scored in double figures twice over that span. Webster doesn't normally rebound in double figures and is just a low-end Fantasy option for deeper formats.
News: Timberwolves guard Martell Webster scored a season-high 21 points on Saturday against the Trail Blazers, as his three-point shot was on line early. He needed just 10 field-goal attempts to get his points, making seven of those shots, with three of them coming from three-point range. He also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds while playing 34 minutes, another season high. He also blocked two shots and added a steal, as the Wolves won 122-110.
Analysis: Webster is finally starting to take advantage of being the only true shooting guard on the Wolves roster. He has seen his playing time increase to 24 minutes per game over the last five, and he is averaging 12.0 points per game as a result. He is shooting red hot right now, hitting on 62.9 percent of his shots in that time span, and he is starting to be a useful low-end Fantasy option. You can start picking him up in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Timberwolves guard Martell Webster played 19 minutes on Wednesday against the Jazz, including much of the fourth quarter as the team came back from a 13-point deficit to win 100-98. Webster finished the game with five points on two of five shooting while adding a single rebound.
Analysis: Webster has seen his playing time increase, as he is averaging 23.4 minutes per game over the last five games. However his production still leaves something to be desired, as he is scoring just 5.4 points per game on 38.5 percent shooting in that time frame. While the increase in minutes is a good sign, Webster just isnt productive enough to be worthy of more than a low-end reserve spot in deeper Fantasy leagues at this time.
News:The Star Tribune reports Timberwolves forward Martell Webster admits he is not the same player he was when he entered the league in 2005, but two back surgeries have contributed to that. "I'm working with it, trying to figure out different ways to get my body going," he said. "Because I'm at the point how where I can't wake up and just jump out of the bed and go play 48 minutes. It will eventually start to get better, but right now it's that tedious (time) when you have to keep grinding and going through it.''
Analysis: Webster did start Monday against the Magic, but he had just five points and four rebounds in 23 minutes. He doesn't have to be an impact player cause the Timberwolves have players like Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio. Webster is not a viable Fantasy option at this time.
News: Minnesota SF Martell Webster made his first start of the season on Monday night at Orlando in place of guard Luke Ridnour, who is away from the team. Webster played 10 minutes in the team's previous game Saturday against New York. He went 1 for 1 from the field with a 3-pointer for three points with one rebound in that game. On Monday, Webster played 23 minutes and went 1 for 4 from the field to score five points. He added four rebounds.
Analysis: Webster entered his first start having averaged fewer than five points per game on the year over 14 minutes. We expect him to get back to that kind of limited production once his starting gig is through and Ridnour back. For that reason, we don't see Webster's Fantasy value rising any with this news.
News: Timberwolves F Martell Webster appeared in his first game of the season on Friday against the Spurs, logging six minutes as the Timberwolves won 87-79. Webster, who underwent surgery on his back prior to the start of the season, scored three points and grabbed two rebounds in the game, making 1 of 3 from the field, including a three pointer.
Analysis: Webster joins a very crowded rotation on the wing, and will likely because one of the primary backups at the shooting guard position, a place the Wolves are very thin with natural options. Webster averaged 9.8 points per game for the Wolves last year and should provide a boost off the bench. Consider him a marginal Fantasy option until he starts seeing solid minutes.
News: Timberwolves F Martell Webster (back) is expected to return for Friday's game against San Antonio, according to 1500 ESPN (Minneapolis). Webster has not played at all this season after having microdiscectomy surgery on his back last November.
Analysis: Webster has struggled to produce in the NBA after being selected as the sixth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. He will be eased back into the rotation for the Timberwolves, but joins a crowded frontcourt and will fight for playing time. Consider him a marginal Fantasy option for now.
News: Minnesota SF Martell Webster (back) and PF Brad Miller (knee) are expected to get re-evaluated prior to the Wolves' practice on Thursday, reports NBA.com. Webster and Miller have yet to play a game this season.
Analysis: Webster has never really delivered on the immense potential that followed him into the NBA in 2005. He will fight for PT in a crowded backcourt when active and won't have much Fantasy appeal. Continue to ignore him.
News: Minnesota swingman Martell Webster and center Brad Miller both will make the two-game road trip to Los Angeles and Utah, but coach Rick Adelman says he doubts either will play. Both recently returned to practice for the first time this season. Webster is recovering from back surgery and Miller is working his way back from microfracture surgery on his left knee.
Analysis: Webster has never really delivered on the immense potential that followed him into the NBA in 2005. He will fight for PT in a crowded backcourt when active and won't have much Fantasy appeal. Continue to ignore him.
News: Minnesota SF Martell Webster, who underwent microdiscectomy surgery on his back in November, returned to participate in his first contact practice in over three months on Tuesday, reports NBA.com. Webster said his back was feeling good following the practice.
Analysis: Webster has finally been cleared to return to action and was on the court with the team on Tuesday. However, he likely is still at least a week away from returning to game action, so Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward. However, Webster may have trouble finding sufficient playing time in a crowded Minnesota frontcourt once he returns. Leave him on the waiver wire until he proves he can be consistent Fantasy option.
News: Timberwolves F Martell Webster, who underwent microdiscectomy surgery on his back in November, has been cleared to participate in practices, according to the team's official website. He is expected to practice for the first time on Tuesday.
Analysis: Webster has finally been cleared to return to action and will be on the court with the team on Tuesday.
News: Timberwolves F Martell Webster is expected to visit with a doctor on Monday to determine a timetable for his return from back surgery, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Webster has not played at all this season after having microdiscectomy surgery on his back in September.
Analysis: Webster has never played more than 30 minutes per game over a full season as injuries have plagued his career. He also missed the entire 2009 campaign. Webster may have trouble finding sufficient playing time in a crowded Minnesota frontcourt once he returns. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore him in all formats for now.
News: Timberwolves F Martell Webster is out indefinitely as he recovers from microdiscectomy surgery on his back. He had the surgery on Sept. 28, and there is no timetable for his return.
Analysis: The 24-year old has never played more than 30 minutes-per game for a season in his career, and has had injury issues before that caused him to miss an entire season, 2009. Webster may have had trouble finding a lot of playing time in a very crowded frontcourt for the Wolves as it is, and this injury does not bode well for his prospects moving forward. You can go ahead and ignore him in all Fantasy leagues on Draft Day.
News: Timberwolves F Martell Webster rediscovered his scoring touch in Sunday's 100-77 loss to the Warriors. Webster finished with 16 points in the victory on 6 of 10 shooting from the field. He went 2 of 3 from downtown and also chipped in with three assists and two rebounds while logging 27 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Webster finally got his scoring back in double figures on Sunday after failing to do so in his first three games back from a back injury. While injuries have limited Webster's minutes and Fantasy value this season, he could still prove be a valuable piece to many teams making a playoff run if he can stay healthy. The 24-year-old can score in bunches and can be decent source for cheap 3-pointers when he is on. Leave him on the bench heading into Fantasy Week 21 (March 14-20), although keep an eye on how he fares moving forward.
News: After missing seven games with a bruised tailbone, Timberwolves F Martell Webster was back on the court for Monday's 108-105 loss to the Mavericks. Webster logged 15 minutes in the contest and finished with three points on 1 of 5 shooting from the field.
Analysis: Webster has only appeared in 28 games this season because of injuries, which has really plummeted his value. He can be a decent source for 3-pointers, although Webster should remain inactive until he proves he can stay healthy and productive.
News: The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Martell Webster said Sunday that he is ready to play in Monday night's game against Dallas. He has missed the team's past seven games due to a bruised tailbone. "This is the best I've felt since the surgery," said Webster, who had minor back surgery on Oct. 25.
Analysis: Webster has averaged 10.5 points per game in 28 appearances. He is a decent 3-point shooter who can provide some cheap help in that category, but is not a player you should rush to activate in most formats.

Analysis: Webster has been plagues by back issues all year long with his latest bout costing him five straight games. While Webster has turned in some solid performances this season, the fact that he has only appeared in 28 games has killed his Fantasy value. He has yet to stay healthy for any lengthy period of time this year and therefore should be considered nothing more than a low-end Fantasy option moving forward.
News: The Timberwolves are reporting Friday that forward Martell Webster is not with the team and will not play Friday night at Philadelphia. Webster is out with a back injury and has missed the past four games.

Analysis: Webster has been dealing with back issues all year long, so him missing games in nothing new. The six-year veteran has posted a few solid outings this season for the Timberwolves, but he's made only 28 appearances this season. That is not good for his Fantasy value, which is why Webster is barely worth owning. When he's healthy, Webster is just a low-end forward option in the deepest of Fantasy formats.
News: Timberwolves forward Martell Webster has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Lakers with a back injury. Webster was able to practice on Monday but could not loosen up his back enough to play against Los Angeles. He is considered day to day.

Analysis: Webster missed five games with a back ailment prior to the break. On the year Webster is averaging 10.5 points and 3.3 boards in his 28 games. Those numbers are good enough to make him a low-end forward option in the deepest of Fantasy leagues, when healthy. Owners in those formats should continue to monitor this back issue.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Timberwolves ruled out Martell Webster (back) for Sunday's game against Golden State. He played through this injury on Tuesday against the Bucks, but this now makes three straight missed games. Before Sunday's game, Minnesota coach Kurt Rambis declined to comment on whether he would consider shutting down Webster for the rest of the season, saying he would need more information from the team's medical staff before being able to make a decision like that.

News: Coach Kurt Rambis decided to hold small forward Martell Webster out on Wednesday for Minnesota against Memphis. Webster played 16 minutes on Tuesday in Milwaukee through a sore back and the Wolves wanted him to rest on Wednesday in order to get better. Webster is day to day.
Analysis: Webster had missed five games with a back injury before the break but had returned just before the All-Star Game for some nice performances. We don't believe he tweaked anything during the break, but he certainly looked limited on Tuesday and missed Wednesday's game as the Wolves want him to get all the way healthy again. Going forward, Webster should be monitored for a relapse of the back injury. That said, he only has low-end Fantasy value.

News: Minnesota SF Martell Webster, who had missed the Wolves' last five games with a back injury, was available on Monday against Portland and he ended up being very needed in the contest. Webster had only played five times in the last 10 games for the Wolves and was averaging 7.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game over that span entering Monday. Still, he was asked to play 34 minutes as Wesley Johnson was horrendous in the contest. Johnson went 0 for 6 from the field over 11 minutes and Minnesota responded by giving more run to Webster. He stepped up and shot 5 of 10 from the field, with four 3-pointers, to score a team-high 17 points. Webster added six rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Webster normally gets around 20 minutes per game for the Wolves but was asked to do more with Johnson, Corey Brewer and Jonny Flynn combining to shoot 0 for 11 from the field and score a total of one point over a combined 34 minutes. He's normally not a major part of the rotation for the team and usually doesn't post big enough statistics to really matter outside the deepest of Fantasy leagues. Unless this continues, that will remain the same.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Martell Webster (back) was able to work out at the team's practice Monday morning. However, the report noted that there is "no guarantee" that Webster would be able to play on Tuesday vs. Portland. The report noted that Webster, whose back flared up after Anthony Tolliver fell on him in practice, said he's OK and is looking forward to playing.
Analysis: Webster should be reserved in all Fantasy leagues and that isn't just because he is unhealthy at the moment. He is wildly inconsistent offensively and has very little to offer across the box score.
News: Timberwolves SF Martell Webster (back) was able to practice Sunday for the first time since hurting his back a week or so ago.
Analysis: Webster is averaging 10.5 points and 3.2 rebounds, and is shooting 43.2 percent from the field in 25 games this year. Even when healthy the fifth-year forward doesn't have much Fantasy value. Keep him reserved in the deepest of formats, but most owners can ignore him.

Analysis: Webster is averaging 10.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and is shooting 43.2 percent from the field in 25 games this year. The fifth-year forward has been banged up most of the season and has minimal Fantasy value. He should not be active in any format until he proves he's 100 percent. Until then keep him reserved or leave him on waivers.
News: The Timberwolves announced on Sunday that swingman Martell Webster (back) would not travel with the team on their upcoming road trip. No official timetable for a return has been announced.
Analysis: The Timberwolves play back-to-back games on Feb. 7-8 and then have another game on Feb. 11 in Indiana. It is possible Webster could be back by Friday's game, but it is certainly no guarantee. He should be reserved in all Fantasy leagues and that isn't just because he is unhealthy at the moment. He is wildly inconsistent offensively and has very little to offer across the box score.
News: Minnesota forward Martell Webster missed Saturday's game against Denver with back spasms. He's being considered day-to-day by the team.
Analysis: Webster has been banged up this season, as he had a thigh injury and back issues so far this this year. Over his last five games he's averaging 7.4 points and 2.4 boards in about 20 minutes of action. Those numbers don't warrant much Fantasy attention though, which means owners in all formats can continue to ignore Webster -- even when he's healthy.
News: After scoring just nine combined points in his last three games, Minnesota F Martell Webster was able to get back on track on Saturday night against Toronto. He scored 15 points and hauled in six rebounds in the 103-87 win. He went 6 of 11 from the floor, including 3 for 5 from downtown while playing 22 minutes off the bench. Webster also chipped in with one assist and a blocked shot in the victory.
Analysis: Webster's production has been sporadic this season but it was nice to see him get some scoring on Saturday. He is averaging 6.2 points with 2.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks over his last five contests. Webster sees anywhere from 10-25 minutes per game, but he should continue to be viewed as a low-end option for the deepest of Fantasy leagues going forward, or until his role improves in Minnesota.
News: Minnesota forward Martell Webster played 10 minutes but failed to score a point for the time this season in the Timberwolves' 118-117 overtime loss to Oklahoma City on Wednesday night. Webster did not attempt a shot and only contributed one rebound as Minnesota lost its fifth consecutive game.
Analysis: Webster seems to have fallen out of favor with the Minnesota coaches and has played 20-plus minutes only once in his last five games. He is averaging 11.3 points per game this season but has not hit double figures in his last five outings. Fantasy owners might want to cut Webster from their lineups and seek other options.
News: Timberwolves forward Martell Webster scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half for Minnesota on Tuesday night. He shot 5 for 14 from the field -- 2 fro 5 from downtown -- and converted 6 of his 7 foul shots. Webster's efforts wouldn't be enough as the Spurs beat the T'wolves, 107-96. Webster added a steal and five rebounds in his 25 minutes on the court.
Analysis: Webster is averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 boards over his last five contests. He's not shooting 34.5 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. He's getting his shots, but isn't doing much else to help out Fantasy owners. Continue to view him as a low-end option in deeper leagues.

Analysis: Webster has scored in double figures in three straight and has not been afraid to take the shots over that span. He's gone 7 for 16 from deep over that span. He's not adding much else in the way of Fantasy statistics, however. Webster really only has low-end Fantasy value.
News: Minnesota SF Martell Webster (thigh contusion) played through the injury on Monday against the Hornets. Webster's injury was not considered serious and he did not miss any time. He scored nine points in the game on 4 of 9 shooting over 23 minutes.
Analysis: Webster has not been shooting well and scored just eight points in his last game in Cleveland on Sunday. He's been averaging 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals with a 3-pointer per game over his last five, however. He's been effective for the Wolves and has earned his right to be called a low-end Fantasy option.

News: Minnesota SF Martell Webster made quite the season debut on Tuesday night in a loss at Golden State. Coming off back surgery, Webster looked comfortable on the floor on his way to 6 of 8 shooting and 17 points. He went 2 for 2 from 3-point range and added five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Webster looked so good out there that the Wolves gave him more than the 20 minutes he was expected to lay. Webster played 26 minutes in his first game of the season.
Analysis: Webster is owned in 6 percent of Fantasy leagues and believed to be worth nothing more than a few threes off the bench for Minnesota. On Tuesday night, however, he took eight shots, played 26 minutes and seemed to be an offensive force for the struggling Wolves. Don't rush out and grab him after one performance, but Webster is someone to monitor after his debut.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune confirmed that Timberwolves SF Martell Webster will make his season debut Tuesday at Golden State, though he'll be limited to about 20 minutes. Webster has been out because of back surgery.
Analysis: Webster will contribute some threes off the bench and could score in double figures from time to time, but he likely won't be consistent enough to factor in most Fantasy leagues. You can leave him for deeper formats.
News: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis said that while Jonny Flynn and Martell Webster will be activated for Tuesday's game against the Warriors, there is no guarantee he will play. "I said they might be active," Rambis said. "I didn't say they'd play."
Analysis: Webster has yet to play a game this season for Minnesota. He averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game last year. Webster will be limited, at least at first, for the Wolves. He should be brought back slowly in Fantasy leagues and should remain out of active lineups until further notice.
News: Minnesota guard Jonny Flynn (hip) and forward Martell Webster (back) will be active on Tuesday against Golden State, reports the team's official site. Both should play in the game but could be limited.
Analysis: Webster has yet to play a game this season for Minnesota. He averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game last year. Webster will be limited, at least at first, for the Wolves. Webster, who has not played at all this season as he recovers from back surgery, will miss Minnesota's game against Detroit on Friday and Saturday's game at Chicago. He is considered day-to-day.
Analysis: The Star-Tribune reported the Timberwolves want to give Webster another couple more practices to get his timing down. He could make his season debut with guard Jonny Flynn on Tuesday night at Golden State. Until we see his production on the court, leave him on Fantasy waiver wires in most leagues.
News: Minnesota F Martell Webster was ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Thunder. Coach Kurt Rambis said that he would like to see one more hard practice out of him before playing him.

Analysis: Webster had surgery Oct. 25, so he's approaching the six-week mark. The team doesn't have an exact timetable for his return, but this is obviously a step in the right direction. He might be little more than a 3-point shooter off the bench when he returns, though. You can leave him for the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves SF Martell Webster, who is recovering from back surgery, took some jump shots after practice Tuesday but still isn't close to practicing with full contact, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Analysis: Webster had surgery Oct. 25, so he's still in recovery mode. He's a good 3-point shooter and could score in double figures off the bench for the Timberwolves, but he's still weeks away and might need weeks after that to get back to playing his usual minutes. You can leave him for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves SF Martell Webster, who is recovering from back surgery, has been cleared to do light jogging and drills, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Coach Kurt Rambis said Tuesday he's still not that close to returning.
Analysis: We can't really start anticipating Webster's return until he gets back to full-contact practice, but sometime in the first half of December seems reasonable. He'll have to settle for a bench role, but he could score in double figures consistently if he gets enough minutes. You can leave him for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis told reporters on Tuesday that F Martell Webster still is not practicing after back surgery. He doesn't figure to return soon.
Analysis: When healthy, Webster figures to get solid playing time at small forward and is a player worth stashing in larger leagues where roster space is available. It would appear that early-to-mid December may be the timetable he is looking at for a return.

Analysis: Webster was going to be a sleeper heading into the season but only if he was going to play a lot. As it stands, he's going to miss at least a month of the season. That makes him only viable to be on rosters in the deepest of Fantasy leagues. When healthy, he figures to get solid playing time at small forward and is a player worth stashing in larger leagues where roster space is available.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Martell Webster is slated to return to see a doctor on Monday. He said on Sunday that he is not worried, but that surgery could be a possible course of action.
Analysis: As the report notes, this news makes it appear the injury is more than just back spasms as initially anticipated. He is considered day to day for now, but is clearly not healthy enough to consider activating in any format for the first scoring period of the season. When healthy, he figures to get solid playing time at small forward and is a player worth stashing in larger leagues where roster space is available.
News: According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, F Martell Webster could miss Wednesday's season opener against the Kings. Webster is still waiting to get a second opinion on his back. Webster has been dealing with back spams since the playoffs last season. "It could take some time," coach Kurt Rambis said, "I don't believe it's long term."
Analysis: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor Webster's status over the next few days to see if he can play in the season opener. Webster has always been a decent source of three's, especially in Rotisserie. Although he is not worth drafting in most formats, Webster will be a valuable player to add off the waiver wire.
News: Timberwolves SF Martell Webster, who missed Tuesday's game against the Pacers because of back spasms, had an MRI on Wednesday, according to NBA.com. He's still waiting for a second opinion.
Analysis: Webster could open the season as the starting small forward for the Timberwolves, but not if his back doesn't improve. He has always been a decent source of threes and could make an impact in standard Fantasy leagues with increased playing time. He's a player to add off the waiver wire if he gets off to a hot start.
News: Timberwolves SF Martell Webster missed Tuesday's game against the Pacers because of back spasms. The injury isn't considered serious and likely won't affect his status for the season opener Oct. 27 vs. San Antonio.
Analysis: Webster was always a good source of threes as a role player for the Trail Blazers and could get an opportunity to contribute in other ways with the Timberwolves. He'll likely begin the season as the starting small forward, giving him some sleeper appeal in the late rounds.

Webster also shot 50 percent from the foul line and grabbed three boards. He chipped in two steals and a block in his 25 minutes of action.
Analysis: Webster entered Friday averaging 14.5 points per game through four preseason games and has been shooting a stellar 43.8 percent from downtown. The fifth-year forward is battling for a starting spot, but no matter what, he'll likely see plenty of court time for Minnesota. He's worth monitoring through the preseason and could be a nice reserve Fantasy player in deeper Rotisserie leagues.
News:Martell Webster had his second strong showing to start off the preseason in Wednesday's preseason game against the Knicks played in Paris. He scored 17 points in 29 minutes of action while adding five rebounds and two assists. Webster scored 24 points in his preseason opener against the Lakers.
Analysis: Webster is battling for a possible starting job in the preseason, but could be looking at healthy minutes as a reliable presence off the bench even if he doesn't get to start. Don't expect him to shoot as much during the regular season as he is during the preseason, but Webster is worth keeping an eye on as possible Fantasy roster depth.
News: Timberwolves F Martell Webster had a strong showing in his first preseason game of the year in London against the defending champion Lakers. He scored a game-high 24 points, shooting 8 for 13 from the field and 3 for 5 from beyond the arc. Webster averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 82 appearances for the Trail Blazers last season.
Analysis: Webster had the hot hand in the preseason opener, playing 30 minutes off the bench. He is battling for a possible starting job in the preseason, but could be looking at healthy minutes as a reliable presence off the bench. Don't expect many 20-plus performances this season, but Webster could become a viable reserve for deeper formats.
News: The Timberwolves traded F Ryan Gomes to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Martell Webster in a draft night trade. The Trail Blazers acquired Gomes and the rights to Luke Babbitt, the 16th overall pick in the draft.
Analysis: Webster averaged 9.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists while appearing in all 82 games for the Blazers this past season. He had spurts of being able to contribute significant numbers when injuries forced him into a more active role. But outside of that type of scenario, he won't be useful in Fantasy.

News: Portland forward Martell Webster had 17 points, four rebounds, one steal and one block Thursday at Denver. In his past two games against the Knicks and Nuggets, Webster has 31 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Analysis: This was the first time since February that Webster had consecutive games with double figures in scoring. Hopefully he can finish the season strong, but Webster still remains a low-end Fantasy option. He is only worth using in deep leagues unless he can continue to play at this level for the rest of the year.
News: Trail Blazers F Martell Webster had six points with a rebound and an assist Wednesday against Indiana. He has been held to single digits in scoring in every game since Feb. 16.
Analysis: Webster, who averaged 15.5 points with five rebounds in January, averaged only 8.8 points with 2.5 rebounds in February. The return of Nicolas Batum from injury marked the end of his Fantasy run this season. He should no longer be activated in any Fantasy format.
News: Trail Blazers SF Martell Webster had a tough night shooting against the Timberwolves on Saturday, finishing 2 of 9 from the field, missing both 3-point attempts. He ended up with eight points, seven rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes of a blowout.
Analysis: Webster has been a completely different player in the second half of February. In the first seven games of the month, he scored in double figures five times. However, over his last five games he's averaging 3.2 points and 2.2 rebounds thanks to seeing just 13.4 minutes a contest during that span. He's clearly fallen out of the Blazers' rotation, giving him very little if any Fantasy value at this point.
News: Trail Blazers SF Martell Webster tied his season-high with 28 points against the Clippers on Tuesday. In 33 minutes he shot an impressive 9 of 13 from the field, including 7 of 11 from 3-point range. He added one rebound, three assists, two steals and one block.
Analysis: Webster's production is down a bit of late. Over his last five he's averaging 12.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals. He's been feast or famine when it comes to scoring -- he's scored at least 20 three times in his last six contests, but also scored two points and three points during that span. His inconsistency makes him a risky Fantasy option at this time.
News: Trail Blazers SF Martell Webster played only 17 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Thunder as he moved to shooting guard. Webster finished with three points and no rebounds.
Analysis: Webster was hogging minutes in the first three weeks of January, but he's been spending more time on the bench the last couple of scoring periods and has just five total points in his last two games. Might be time to bench him in all but the deepest of leagues for the time being.
News: According to The Oregonian, Trail Blazers G Nicolas Batum will get his first start of the season on Tuesday night, when the Trail Blazers host the Oklahoma City Thunder. Batum said he will start at small forward and Martell Webster will slide over to shooting guard, which means Jerryd Bayless who had been starting in place of the injured Brandon Roy will move to the second unit.
Analysis: For Webster, this move won't have too much of an impact and it likely won't last long either. The Blazers have just two games prior to the All-Star break before Roy is expecting to return from his injury. Once that happens, expect Webster to slide right back over to small forward. His value remains that of a low-end starter or reserve in standard leagues.
News: Portland F Martell Webster scored 21 points, including five 3-pointers to guide the Blazers to a 96-93 victory over San Antonio on Thursday. Webster played 31 minutes shooting 6 of 9 from the floor while adding five rebounds and assists.
Analysis: Webster has put together back-to-back 20 point games. With injuries to Jared Bayless and Brandon Roy, look for Webster to be a mainstay in the Portland lineup for at least another week. He has put together seven 20-plus point performances in the year 2010 and makes a solid No. 2 or No.3 Fantasy option for the time being.
News: Portland SF Martell Webster scored 20 points against Utah on Wednesday. In 36 minutes he shot 8 of 17 from the field, only 3 of 9 from long-range. He added three rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Analysis: Webster has been playing well in 2010, averaging 15 points a game. He's been consistent, scoring in double figures in 14 out of 17 games, with six 20-point efforts. However he doesn't add much else to the stat sheet and remains a low-end Fantasy option in standard leagues.
News: Portland SF Martell Webster had another solid game Monday night against New Orleans. Webster scored 14 points with three rebounds, two assists and two blocks. He has now scored in double figures in his past three games and six of his past seven.
Analysis: Webster continues to see a boost in production with Brandon Roy dealing with a hamstring injury. Keep Webster active in all leagues as long as Roy is out and while Webster is playing at this level.
News: Portland forward Martell Webster scored a career-high 28 points to help the short-handed Blazers beat the Detroit Pistons 97-93 on Saturday night. "Everybody contributed to this tonight," said Webster, who made six 3-pointers. "As far as records, I don't care. We won the game and we earned it." Although Webster played all 48 minutes, he did all of his damage in the first half scoring 21 points with five 3-pointers.
Analysis: With Brandon Roy out due to injury, Martell Webster has proven that he can score points and be a legitimate threat for the Blazers. In his last eight games, Webster has only failed to score in double figures just once averaging 16.5 points per game during that span. He provides a quality option in most Fantasy leagues and can be viewed as a No.2 or No. 3 Fantasy forward as long as Roy is on the bench.
News: Bob Myers, the agent for Brandon Roy, said the All-Star guard will be given one week of rest before his right hamstring is re-evaluated next Thursday, according to The Oregonian. Roy flew to from Philadelphia to Seattle with team athletic trainer Jay Jensen on Thursday to receive a second opinion on his strained right hamstring. The consensus out of that meeting was to give Roy a week to recover, then determine a course of action. Roy's re-evaluation will come on Jan. 28, the same day the team will depart to Houston for a two-game trip against the Rockets (Jan. 29) and Dallas Mavericks (Jan. 30). Jerryd Bayless picked up some of the slack for Roy Wednesday scoring 18 points to help push the Blazers past the 76ers. Bayless should continue to start in his place. Martell Webster and Andre Miller could also see increased offensive roles in his absence.
Analysis: Roy will miss at least the Blazers' next four games: Friday night in Boston, Saturday in Detroit, and home games Jan. 25 against New Orleans and Jan. 27 against Utah. He could possibly return for the team's final two games in Fantasy Week 14 (Jan. 25-31), but he will be a very risky play in weekly formats and somebody we recommend playing it safe with. Bayless becomes a very solid addition off the waiver wire in the short term. His value is higher in cumulative leagues as we don't expect much out of him outside of scoring while Andre Miller is running the point. He will be used more as a two-guard. Miller has been playing a bigger role in recent games with all the team's injuries and has once again emerged as a solid Fantasy point guard. Both Miller and Webster are quality plays with the team likely looking to lean on them for bigger offensive responsibilities.
News: Portland SF Martell Webster scored a team-high 24 points on Friday in a win over the Orlando Magic. Webster shot 8 for 14 from the field and went 5 for 9 from deep in the victory. He added nine rebounds.
Analysis: Webster had a monster game in the win over the Magic and really stepped up for Brandon Roy, who missed the game with injury. Webster assumed more of a scoring role with Roy out but that could change once he's back shortly. Still, Webster has scored over 20 points already four times in seven January games and that comes with a good average of rebounds and an average of almost four threes per night. As long as he continues hitting threes and grabbing almost seven boards per night, Webster can be used in most deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Blaezers F Martell Webster had 25 points and 6 rebounds in Tuesday's game at the Clippers. It was his second straight game with 20-plus points and third straight with 15 or more.
Analysis: Webster is averaging 15.6 points and 5.6 rebounds over his last five games, but the last two big games came with LaMarcus Aldridge out of action due to an injury. Aldridge is expected back for Tuesday's game and Webster will likely see his numbers dip very soon. He has appeal as a stopgap measure in deeper leagues, but we wouldn't recommend investing in him heavily.
News: Trail Blazers F Martell Webster had 2 points to go with 7 rebounds and an assist in Saturday's game at Orlando. He went 0 for 6 from the field and went without a three pointer for the first time in six games.
Analysis: Webster continues to start for the Blazers and he had actually been on a pretty decent run in his last four games prior to Saturday's clunker. He's not a great Fantasy option by any means, but he sees enough run and can shoot enough threes to be considered a viable Fantasy stopgap measure when the team faces favorable matchups.
News: Portland SF Martell Webster registered a new season high with 24 points on Friday in a loss to Memphis. He shot 9 of 14 and hit six threes. He added five rebounds and three blocks.
Analysis: Webster got hot from three-point range on Friday but his previous high for threes in a game was four and before that, only two. He saw 38 minutes on Friday but normally doesn't get much more than 20 per game. He has scored at least 20 points in two of his last four games but has a total of 16 in the other two. Webster has been back in the starting lineup for four straight games now and looks pretty good doing so. Webster is a good 3-point shooter who will occasionally score enough to matter in Fantasy, but you can leave him for deeper leagues unless this continues consistently. Portland plays twice in Week 6 (Nov. 30-Dec. 6) so it likely isn't worth using him over that span.
News: Trail Blazers SF Martell Webster, who moved back into the starting lineup and had 21 points and 13 rebounds Saturday against the Timberwolves, continued to start Monday against the Bulls but had only six points and four rebounds in 22 minutes. He shot 3 for 10 from the field and 0 for 2 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Based on this game, Webster might not see much of an increase in minutes even though he's back in the starting lineup. The Blazers will still sometimes want to have Brandon Roy, Steve Blake and Andre Miller on the floor at once, going without a true small forward. Webster is a good 3-point shooter who will occasionally score enough to matter in Fantasy, but you can leave him for deeper leagues.
News: Trail Blazers F Martell Webster once again started at small forward Tuesday against Atlanta. He managed 8 points with just 1 rebound and no assists in 27 minutes.
Analysis: Webster has been around 10 points in four of his first five games. He won't put up jaw-dropping numbers, but could be viewed as a serviceable stopgap in deeper leagues due to his starting role.
News: Trail Blazers F Martell Webster started at small forward for a second straight game to start the season Thursday against Denver. He played 30 minutes and managed 10 points with 4 rebounds and an assist. He also added 2 blocks and a steal.
Analysis: Webster is starting in place of Nicolas Batum and playing the way he has been playing he may not relinquish the role. He's a strong candidate to add off the waiver wire in any league and looks like a player who can offer cheap help across the board.
News: Trail Blazers SF Martell Webster got the start in the season opener Tuesday against the Rockets, replacing Nicolas Batum, who will undergo shoulder surgery. Webster scored 14 points on 4 of 7 shooting, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range, and also contributed three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 25 minutes.
Analysis: Webster is a good 3-point shooter and has an opportunity to contribute in a few other categories as a starter, but Travis Outlaw will log most of the minutes at the position. Leave Webster for deeper leagues.
News: Portland Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum will undergo surgery on his right shoulder to repair torn cartilage. The team said Monday a return date will be determined after Friday's surgery in Los Angeles. His absence likely means Travis Outlaw or Martell Webster will start in his place.
Analysis: Batum appeared in 79 games as a rookie last season, starting 76. He averaged 5.4 points and 2.8 rebounds while earning praise for his defensive ability. He has no real Fantasy appeal even as a starter as most of the minutes at small forward go to Outlaw. Outlaw could be kept with the second unit because the team likes his presence off the bench, but he will remain the more important Fantasy option of the two.
News: Trail Blazers forward Martell Webster will miss the playoffs because of a lingering foot fracture that has kept him out for most of this season. Webster had surgery to repair the stress fracture in his left foot in the preseason. He appeared briefly in one game in December but aggravated the injury. Webster had spoken positively in recent weeks about returning in the postseason. "Throughout the course of rehab I worked my tail off to get back out there and to come up short is disappointing," he said.
Analysis: Webster, in his fourth season, has averaged 8.1 points and three rebounds. He had been projected as a starter for Portland this season. Hopefully he'll be at 100-percent next season but will have minimal Fantasy value.
News: The Trail Blazers confirmed Tuesday that forward Martell Webster, who has played just five minutes this season, will miss all of the regular season because of his left foot injury, reports the Oregonian. The team announced that X-rays showed improvement in the stress fracture in Webster's ailing foot and the small forward has been "cleared to begin low impact activities," such as riding the exercise bike and working in the pool. Webster also no longer has to wear a protective boot.
Analysis: It's safe to ignore Webster in all leagues and hope he can return at 100 percent next season. When healthy, however, Webster has minimal Fantasy value.
News: Blazers forward Martell Webster, out with a foot injury, may not return during the regular season, according to one report. Webster, who was expected to be a starter at the beginning of the season, had surgery on his left foot before the start of the season. He returned briefly in early December for one game before reaggravating the injury.
Analysis: Webster had a solid 2007-2008 campaign but this season now seems to be a wash as he will likely have only played in one game. He has essentially lost all Fantasy value and shouldn't be owned in any leagues at this time.
News: Portland forward Martell Webster, who was expected to start for the Blazers this season, required surgery on his foot in the preseason and briefly played before re-injuring himself. He has been out since December 9, and there is no timetable for his return.
Analysis: The 22-year-old Webster averaged career highs of 10.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 28.4 minutes in 75 games last season. Keep him reserved in all leagues at this time, and he will have minimal Fantasy value once he returns.
News: As January comes to a close, Portland SF Martell Webster is still out of commission for the Blazers after Saturday's win over Utah. He's expected to return at some point in February but right now there is really no timetable for a return.
Analysis: The 22-year-old Webster averaged career highs of 10.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 28.4 minutes in 75 games last season. He sustained a stress fracture in his foot during the preseason. Webster is more of a low-end Fantasy forward, even when contributing, so his absence shouldn't make a big impact in Fantasy.
News: Trail Blazers swingman Martell Webster will be sidelined for an estimated four weeks after experiencing pain in his left foot during Sunday's game at Toronto. The pain occurred in his first game back after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot on Oct. 9. Trail Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard said the discomfort is in a different spot than the fracture. Webster will be placed in a walking boot for two weeks and then be re-evaluated.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Blazers F Martell Webster made his 2008-09 season debut after recovering from foot surgery on Sunday against Toronto, but it was only a cameo role. Webster missed his only shot, a three-pointer, in five first-half minutes.
Analysis: The 22-year-old Webster averaged career highs of 10.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 28.4 minutes in 75 games last season. He sustained a stress fracture in his foot during the preseason. Webster is more of a low-end Fantasy forward, even when contributing, so we would not rush out and pick him up off waivers just yet.
News: Injured forward Martell Webster and the Portland Trail Blazers agreed to a four-year contract extension Friday night. The deal is worth $20 million, a person close to the negotiations told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Trail Blazers did not release the deal's terms.
Analysis: The 22-year-old Webster averaged career highs of 10.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 28.4 minutes in 75 games last season. He sustained a stress fracture in his foot during the preseason and is expected to be out until December. The Blazers drafted the 6-foot-7 Webster sixth overall out of Seattle Prep in 2005. He cracked the starting lineup in 2007-08, his fourth season, and became a long-range threat, shooting 38.8 percent from 3-point range. The deal could keep Webster with the Blazers through 2012-13. The team holds an option for the last year of the contract. Webster is more of a low-end Fantasy forward when healthy.
News: The Trail Blazers announced that guard Martell Webster suffered a left foot injury Tuesday during a game against Sacramento. An MRI confirmed that Webster has a stress fracture in the fifth metatarsal. The team said it would announce a course of treatment, which could include surgery, and a an official timetable. A stress fracture indicates he will likely miss at least two months.
Analysis: This creates a void in the starting lineup at small forward. The logical move would be to put Travis Outlaw into the starting lineup, with Outlaw being a more productive small forward anyway. Rudy Fernandez is also an option to move into the starting lineup at shooting guard with Brandon Roy able to play the three. Fernandez fits into a Manu Ginobili type role off the bench, though, and that's the more likely scenario. As for Webster, his numbers weren't very good even as a starter and his absence could actually do more good than harm.
News: Portland SF Martell Webster started and played 26 minutes in Tuesday's preseason opener against the Kings. Webster was 5-of-8 shooting to lead the Blazers with 15 points. He pulled down six boards, blocked a shot and stole two balls.
Analysis: Webster led the team in three-pointers made and attempted and also became a fixture in a young starting lineup that is growing together as a team. He figures to be a fixture in the lineup for years alongside the likes of Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden, but he'll also end up playing second, third and even fourth fiddle to those guys. For that reason, his numbers have just as much chance of declining as they do rising in 2008-09 with Greg Oden joining the mix. Consider taking a flier on Webster in the middle rounds, but don't invest in him as a fixture in your starting lineup for Fantasy purposes.
News: Blazers G/F Martell Webster averaged career highs in scoring (10.7), rebounds (3.9) and assists (1.2) during the 2007-08 regular season, his third in the NBA. He also started in a career-high 70 games out of 75 appearances.

News: The Blazers decided on Monday to sit forward Martell Webster for the final two games of the regular season. Webster was hospitalized briefly last week because of an irregular heartbeat, but had been cleared to play.
Analysis: Webster had his moments in 2007-08, including five months in which he averaged double-digits in points. He finished averaging 10.7 points per game, but his 2008-09 outlook could be a little different when Greg Oden finally hits the court. Webster will be a low-end Fantasy guard come Draft Day 2008.
News: The Blazers were again without starter Martell Webster Saturday at Portland. He was examined for an irregular heartbeat after he was briefly hospitalized with dizziness and flu-like symptoms last week.
Analysis: Webster was cleared to play after he recovers from the insertion of a catheter into his leg, which was part of his medical examination. It is not known whether Webster will be able to play the final two games of the season.
News:Martell Webster remained in Portland Friday while the team was at Sacramento, missing his fourth straight game due to an irregular heartbeat.
Analysis: Webster was cleared to play after he recovers from the insertion of a catheter into his leg, which was part of his medical examination. It is not certain whether he'll be able to return by the end of the season.
News: The Blazers on Tuesday against the Lakers were still without starter Martell Webster, who was examined for an irregular heartbeat after he was briefly hospitalized with dizziness and flu-like symptoms last week. Webster was cleared to play after he recovers from the insertion of a catheter into his leg, which was part of his medical examination. It is not certain whether he'll be able to return by the end of the season.
Analysis: Keep Webster reserved in all Fantasy leagues at this time. He will likely miss the rest of the season since Portland is out of the playoffs and has nothing to play for.
News: Blazers starting forward Martell Webster underwent tests concerning his irregular heartbeat on Monday and will undergo more testing Tuesday, making him unavailable for the Blazers game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
Analysis: Keep Webster reserved in all Fantasy leagues at this time. He will likely miss the rest of the season since Portland is out of the playoffs and has nothing to play for.
News: Sunday against the Spurs, the Blazers were without SG Martell Webster, who suited up for Thursday night's game but experienced dizziness and flu-like symptoms and was taken to a hospital. Webster spent the night when doctors found an irregular heartbeat. The Blazers cardiologist will examine him early this week.
Analysis: Webster had scored in double figures in four of the last five games, but he likely won't just spring back onto the court after having an irregular heartbeat. He looks like a risky start for the final Fantasy scoring period, but he was a guy better left for deeper leagues anyway.
News: Portland Trail Blazers forward Martell Webster was hospitalized Thursday because of flu-like symptoms and dizziness. Further details weren't immediately available. Webster, averaging 10.7 points and 3.9 rebounds, leads the team with 123 3-pointers. The Blazers faced Houston on Thursday night.
Analysis: Webster has scored in double figures for four of the last five games as Brandon Roy has missed time due to injury. Webster is so erratic with his scoring, it's kind of hard to gauge what player will show up on a nightly basis. For his inconsistency, he remains a low-end Fantasy option. Hopefully everything checks out for the third-year forward.
News: Blazers G/F Martell Webster had 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal in Thursday's loss at Golden State. It was first game under 20 points in two outings.
Analysis: With Brandon Roy out for "at least" the next three games, Webster becomes a nice add off the Fantasy waiver wire as a stopgap. Webster, Jarrett Jack and Travis Outlaw figure to shoulder the offensive void left by Roy with inconsistency being a possibility.
News: The Portland Trail Blazers brushed off the loss of their leading scorer and routed the Washington Wizards. Martell Webster had 23 points, and the Trail Blazers beat the Washington Wizards 102-82 on Tuesday night after Brandon Roy left with a groin injury. "It's always sad to see some of your guys go down," said Webster, who was coming off a 22-point game. "But that's when other guys step to the plate. Coach always tells us that when your name is called, you have to be ready." Jarrett Jack added 17 points for the Blazers, who shot 49.4 percent despite Roy leaving with a strained right groin on the last play of the first quarter. Portland was already without LaMarcus Aldridge, the team's second-leading scorer who sprained an ankle Monday against Seattle.
Analysis: Wesbter will have to continue to pick up the slack if Roy and Aldridge are sidelined for an extended period. Keep an eye on what develops, but for now consider Webster a No. 4 Fantasy option.
News: Portland guard Martell Webster had seven points and 10 rebounds Monday at Cleveland. The 10 rebounds were a season high, and he has 24 rebounds in his past three games.
Analysis: If Webster can continue to rebound like this he would be a tremendous Fantasy option. For now, continue to use him as a low-end Fantasy guard with the chance to surprise you if you keep him active.
News: Blazers G/F Martell Webster had 17 points, 7 rebounds and an assist in Friday's win at Milwaukee. He also added 2 steals.
Analysis: If Webster could do this on a regular basis, he'd be a terrific Fantasy option. Unfortunately, he usually doesn't see 30-plus minutes per game as he did on Friday.
News: Blazers G Martell Webster had 15 points off 6-for-11 from the field in Wednesday's win at the L.A. Clippers. He shot 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.
Analysis: Webster has scored in double figures in three straight games and has picked up his play of late. He's a decent option off the waiver wire if you're looking for a stopgap because he sees starts and regular minutes for the Blazers.
News: Blazers G/F Martell Webster was moved out of the starting lineup Thursday against Seattle in favor of Jarrett Jack. Webster finished with 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals in 26 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: There is no telling how long the Blazers would like to stick with this look, but it does make Webster a far less appealing Fantasy option for as long as it lasts. Monitor the situation.
News: Portland guard Martell Webster had 18 points and three rebounds Tuesday against the Kings. He played 32 minutes off the bench. Webster now has three games in double figures in points in his past four outings.
Analysis: Webster is a low-end Fantasy option, but if he continues to score like this he could be worth adding in most Fantasy leagues. Keep an eye on how he does and consider adding him in deeper leagues.
News: With Brandon Roy out due to a death in the family, Martell Webster got another start at small forward for the Blazers on Saturday at Indiana. He finished with 18 points -- his most since Jan. 5 -- and eight rebounds -- his most since Nov. 28.
Analysis: We think Webster will go back to the bench when Roy returns, allowing Jarrett Jack to remain in the starting lineup. Webster had his chance as a starter earlier in the season and blew it. Think of him as a low-end Fantasy option.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Trail Blazers head coach Nate McMillan made a switch in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Bulls, inserting Jarrett Jack at shooting guard, moving Brandon Roy to small forward and bringing Martell Webster off the bench for the first time all season. Jack had a solid game with 17 points and six assists in 38 minutes. Webster was 0-of-5 from three-point range but made all of his two-point attempts and contributed eight points and five rebounds in 21 minutes. "The last couple of games we seemed a little flat," McMillan said. "I was hoping the lineup change would give us a little spark, some energy, challenge some guys."
Analysis: Webster scored eight points with five rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench Wednesday. He is still a part of the Blazers' rotation, but his minutes might dwindle if Jack continues to play well. He is only worth using as a low-end Fantasy guard in the majority of leagues because of his inconsistent play.
News: Portland guard Martell Webster had 17 points, five rebounds and one assist Monday against Denver. This was Webster's first game scoring in double figures in his past seven outings.
Analysis: Webster has struggled this year but is capable of posting solid stat lines. Still, he is only worth using as a low-end Fantasy guard in the majority of leagues because of his inconsistent play.
News: Blazers G/F Martell Webster scored nine points with three rebounds and a block in 29 minutes on the floor of Friday's overtime win over New York. It was his highest point total since he had nine points on Jan. 21 at Atlanta.
Analysis: Despite the fact that Webster starts, his minutes tend to be irregular and he isn't a very attractive Fantasy option. He's best used as a low-end stopgap option.
News: Blazers G/F Martell Webster had only five points in 16 minutes Sunday against the Hawks, giving him single-digit scoring in eight of his last nine games.
Analysis: Webster came into the game averaging 10.6 points this season, so his pace has clearly fallen off of late. With Travis Outlaw and James Jones emerging off the bench, Webster is merely a low-end Fantasy forward.
News: Blazers G/F Martell Webster had eight points on 2-of-8 shooting Friday at Miami. He started, but played only 23 minutes. He hasn't scored in double figures in four straight games.
Analysis: Webster has done almost nothing since scoring a career-high 26 points Jan. 5, with Travis Outlaw and James Jones each stealing a large portion of his minutes. Treat him as nothing more than a bench option right now in Fantasy.
News: Blazers G/F Martell Webster scored only six points in 26 minutes Monday at New Jersey. In the three games since his career-high 26-point performance, his scoring has regressed from 16 points to nine to six.
Analysis: Webster clearly isn't a reliable scorer, especially considering he'd averaged 6.5 points in the six games leading up to the 26-point effort. Consider him nothing more than a low-end or stopgap Fantasy player.
News: Trail Blazers third-year SG Martell Webster scored a career-high 26 points in only 26 minutes to lead Portland in a 103-89 victory over the Utah Jazz on Saturday night. He made eight of his 15 shots, was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line and scored 24 of his points in the third quarter. "It was one of those nights I was hot," Webster said. "I felt every time I touched the ball and shot, it was going to go in."
Analysis: The Blazers were without Brandon Roy (tailbone) for most of Saturday's game, but they didn't have to worry too much as Webster came through in a big way for one of the hottest teams in the West. Don't expect anything like this kind of output from Webster on a regular basis, as he only had seven double-digit point games in his last 18 before Saturday's contest. Consider him a low-end stopgap option in most formats for now.
News: Blazers swingman Martell Webster scored 13 points in Thursday's win at Chicago. It was the first time in five games that he scored in double figures.
Analysis: Despite the fact that Webster starts, his minutes tend to be irregular and he isn't a very attractive Fantasy option. He's best used as a low-end stopgap option.
News: Friday against the Jazz, Blazers F Martell Webster played despite the stomach flu, which kept him out of Portland's last game. He took intravenous fluids before tipoff and had 10 points and four rebounds in 23 minutes.
Analysis: Webster hasn't proven himself a consistent scorer this season and serves as only a low-end Fantasy guard or forward.
News: The Blazers lost forward Martell Webster during Wednesday's game against the Warriors because of the flu. He started and played nine minutes, but recorded only two points. The minutes were a season-low for Webster and his points total tied a season-low set back on Nov. 10 against the Mavs.
Analysis: Webster dropped 25 points against the Jazz in his previous time on the court Tuesday. Lucky for him the Jazz are back on the scheulde Friday and Webster sure hopes to be active by then. He is very erratic with his scoring and remains a low-end Fantasy guard at this time.
News: Blazers SG Martell Webster scored a career-high 25 points in Portland's 97-89 win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night. He made five of his eight shots from 3-point range and 9-of-13 shots overall.
Analysis: Webster only had 16 points in his previous three games coming into Tuesday night, so this output was a bit of a freak thing. He is averaging 12 points and 4.9 rebounds a game this season, which are stats that won't get him starting as a guard in many Fantasy leagues.
News: Blazers G/F scored just three points with four rebounds and three assists Monday at Memphis.
Analysis: Webster was coming off a 17-point performance at San Antonio, but he continues to be very erratic with his scoring efforts. Still, he has started every game this season and is averaging almost 12 points to go with 5 rebounds. He's useful in larger leagues.
News: Trail Blazers SG Martell Webster scored 15 points with six rebounds and four blocks in Monday's loss at Charlotte.
Analysis: Webster has scored at least 10 points in four straight games after being held to single digits in two straight games for the only time this season. He is averaging 13.0 ppg this season and has been one of the more pleasant surprises in Fantasy hoops thus far.
News: Trail Blazers SG Martell Webster averaged 17.2 points in his first five games this season, but has only seven points in his last two outings, including two in Tuesday night's win over the Pistons.
Analysis: Webster has vanished from the Portland offense in the last couple of games, and we're not exactly sure why. If he keeps this slump up, he will be dropped in Fantasy leagues all over the place, but he's probably still worth a spot on your bench if you have the room.
News: Blazers SG Martell Webster scored 20 points in Wednesday's win vs. New Orleans, raising his average to 17.3 ppg for the season.
Analysis: Webster is also averaging a cool 4.3 rpg and has been one of the better surprises of the young Fantasy season. He's starting at small forward for the Blazers and should continue to turn in steady totals this season as long as he can stay healthy. He's worth an add.
News: G/F Martell Webster, who won the job of Blazers SF in the preseason, demonstrated why in the season opener Tuesday at San Antonio. He shot 9-of-15 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, and finished with 21 points in 39 minutes of play. He also had three rebounds and an assist.
Analysis: Webster averaged 17.7 points per game in the preseason and looks primed to become on of the Blazers' leading scorers this season. He could end up a No. 3 Fantasy guard or forward before season's end, so pick him up if he's still available in your league.
News: Blazers SG/SF is averaging 19.0 ppg and 4.3 rpg in four preseason games. He had 17 points and nine rebounds in Friday's preseason tilt vs. Sacramento.
Analysis: Webster is fighting for minutes behind Brandon Roy, but could end up starting at the three if he can keep this up. He can play either the two or the three and is worth taking a flier on in larger leagues.
News: Blazers SG Martell Webster got the start in place of the injured Brandon Roy during Friday's preseason game at Denver. He finished wiht 19 points and an assist.
Analysis: Webster shot well from the field (6-of-12), but didn't bring down any rebounds and did not have any assists. During the season, we wouldn't expect much from Webster as he'll be the backup to Roy and won't be getting the 33 minutes he got on Friday.
News: Martell Webster scored 28 points as the Trail Blazers opened the preseason with a 111-102 victory against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. Twenty-two of Webster's points came in the second half. "This is what we were hoping for from him for the past two years. He showed tonight the kind of shooting touch that lets people know why we drafted him so high. With him it's been a matter of consistency," Blazers coach Nate McMillan said. "If he can continue to do that it will be a great step forward."
Analysis: Webster played almost 34 minutes. He averaged just 21.5 a season ago. While it was nice to see that he can deliver when given the playing time, he doesn't figure to get as many chances once Brandon Roy is ready to go. At this time, consider him low-end insurance for Roy owners.
News: Blazers swingman Martell Webster has had a rough second season, and few games have provided bleaker results than Thursday's. The 20-year-old swingman was 0-for-6 from the field and finished with one rebound and one point in 14 minutes.
