Fantasy Basketball Today: Ronnie Price could have a role

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/24/2014) Lakers guard Ronnie Price has actually dominated playing time at the point guard spot for the Lakers this preseason, given Jeremy Lin and Steve Nash's injury issues. With Nash out for the season, Price may have a role that can push him towards the fringes of Fantasy relevance, as I discussed at the Fantasy Basketball Today blog Friday:

"Price appeared in six preseason games and averaged 29.5 minutes per game, with Lin dealing with some injury concerns. Price put up a couple of big assist games, and ultimately averaged 8.2 points and 5.3 assists per game in that time. He is certainly not someone you will want to pick up on Draft Day, but Price might have value as a waiver-wire pickup down the road."

Price is still probably not worth drafting, but if he can get 25 minutes per game as the point guard, he could have some utility, especially with how valuable assists are in Fantasy.

Ronnie Price producing little in starts

(3/5/2014) Magic guard Ronnie Price started his second straight game Wednesday against the Rockets, with Jameer Nelson sidelined by an illness.

Price played 25 minutes in his start and shot the ball well, finishing with eight points on 4 of 6 shooting. He also five assists, his best total since early December, though it also came with six turnovers in the 101-89 loss.

Prior to starting the team's last two games, Price went the entire month of February without seeing the floor once. Price has appeared in 23 games this season and is averaging just 2.0 points per game on 32.2 percent shooting.

Ronnie Price cleared to play, sticks to bench

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(1/28/2014) Magic guard Ronnie Price was cleared to play Tuesday against the Pistons after missing six games with a sprained foot, but he did not come off the bench in the 103-87 loss. Price was instead tagged with a DNP Coach's Decision, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise; he has played in just 20 of the team's first 47 games.
