Suns officially sign Ronnie Price

(7/18/2015) The Suns officially announced the signing of guard Ronnie Price, GM Ryan McDonough announced on Friday.

Price played for the Lakers last season, averaging 5.1 points and 3.8 assists in 43 games. He returns to Phoenix, where he played during the 2011-12 season.

"The Suns are pleased to welcome Ronnie Price and his family back to Phoenix," said President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby. "As we know, Ronnie is the consummate professional and a great teammate."

Price averaged 5.1 points and 3.8 assists in 43 games last season for the Lakers. Price played for the Suns during the 2011-12 season.

(4/14/2015) Lakers guard Ronnie Price, who has been sidelined for seven weeks following elbow surgery, is seeking to remain with the team next season. He told the Los Angeles Daily News that he would be willing to stick around even as a third-stringer.

Price racked up more minutes (982) in the first half of this year than he had in any full season previously. He averaged 5.1 points and 3.8 assists in 43 games before going down. He told the team website that he was grateful to the Lakers for allowing him to display his talents.


Report: Lakers to apply for hardship exception with Ronnie Price

(3/3/2015) The Lakers are reportedly planning to apply for a hardship exception given the injury to Ronnie Price, according to the L.A. Times.

If granted the exception, the team would be able to sign a 16th player to their active roster, but would still only have 11 players able to play. Five players, including Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Julius Randle and Price are all out for the remainder of the season with injuries.

(2/25/2015) The Lakers announced Wednesday guard Ronnie Price underwent elbow surgery and will be out six to eight weeks.

The surgery removed bone spurs and bone chips from his right elbow. Price had been dealing with the discomfort in his elbow for more than a month.

Guards Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson are expected to see their roles increased with Price out.

Bryant missed the last two games to rest, but it appears his body is feeling well.

"Kobe's good, he said he's ready to go," Lakers coach Byron Scott said. Scott added it will take another 10 to 15 games for Bryant to be fully healthy, which includes sitting out some of those games to rest, reports the Los Angeles Daily News.

Meanwhile, guard Ronnie Price is dealing with an elbow injury and will be a game-time decision at New Orleans. Price has missed the last two games because of the elbow injury. Jeremy Lin will start if Price is out.

The Lakers are 7 1/2-point underdogs.

"By the looks of things, I'm pretty sure it's broken," Price said, per the Orange County Register.

He also indicated he will not wear a protective mask, which could cause him to miss some game action moving forward. Price finished with 11 points and eight assists in 27 minutes. His status remains uncertain for Wednesday's game against the Clippers.

The incident happened in the fourth quarter Wednesday and earned Price a flagrant-2 foul and ejection. He'll miss Friday's game against the Spurs and will be eligible to return Sunday against the Warriors.

Price caught Pelicans guard Austin Rivers with a forearm to the face during a drive to the basket. The officials reviewed the play after issuing a standard foul that was then upgraded after the review. Price played 17 minutes in the loss, missing both his shots. He could be in for a fine and/or suspension from the league office.
