(12/12/2014) Knicks guard Jose Calderon admitted that he's been playing through a neck issue recently, according to the New York Post

Calderon said he's been wearing tape on the area. Calderon hasn't scored double digit points over the last five games, but would not blame his struggles on the injury.

Calderon shot 7-13 from the field, including 7-9 from beyond the arc. Calderon was also active on the boards, pulling down 10 rebounds. He also dished out four assists.

(11/20/2014) The Knicks are not only preparing for center Andrea Bargnani (hamstring) to make his season debut Saturday against the 76ers, but guard Jose Calderon (calf) could also be ready for his season debut, according to the New York Post.

The Knicks are expected to make a decision about the duo's status following Friday's practice, which will feature a full scrimmage.

"Not that I can say expect to [have them back Saturday], we’re just focused on (Minnesota)," coach Derek Fisher said before Wednesday's game. "We have a couple of days to get some work in practice in and see from there. I’ll worry about who may or may not play Saturday after [Wednesday]."

(10/30/2014) The Knicks have confirmed that an MRI on point guard Jose Calderon has revealed a strained right calf and that he will be out for 2-3 weeks.

The offseason trade acquisition had been penciled in to start the season opener Wednesday night against Chicago before the injury flared up and he was forced to be scratched.

Calderon was initially expected to start after dealing with a calf issue late in the preseason, but it appears the injury flared up. Shane Larkin will draw the start against the Bulls. The Knicks come right back Thursday to play the Cavaliers.

(6/25/2014) The other half of a trade that would send Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton to Dallas includes guards Jose CalderonWayne Ellington and Shane Larkin as well as center Samuel Dalembert going to the Knicks, ESPN reports.

With the Knicks looking to rebuild, Larkin is an asset that a cash-strapped and mostly draft pick-less New York team would value highly. Calderon reinvented himself as a spot-up shooter for the Mavericks last season, finishing the year with a career-best 191 made three pointers. Dalembert only managed to give the Mavericks 6.6 points in 20 minutes per game last season. Ellington couldn't crack the Dallas rotation to log meaningful stats.

(5/3/2014) Mavericks guard Jose Calderon suffered a broken nose in the second half of Game 6 on Friday against the Spurs.

Calderon sustained the injury while trying to defend a drive to the basket from Tony Parker. He made a brief exit and returned to the game with 4:22 remaining in the third quarter. He scored 12 points on 5 of 9 from the floor, and 2 of 3 from 3-point range. He also chipped in with six assists, five rebounds and one steal in 32 minutes.

In his first postseason since 2007-08, Calderon is averaging 11.3 points and 4.5 assists in six games. It remains uncertain if he'll need a protective mask for Game 7.

"I hope I'm better in Game 7," Calderon said, per ESPN Dallas. "I think we were trying to stop the bleeding, so there was a lot of stuff up my nose. I think it was that more than anything else with the breathing."

(3/26/2014) Mavericks guard Jose Calderon was back in the lineup Tuesday against the Thunder, after missing nearly all of the team's previous game after taking an elbow to the face Sunday.

Calderon put together one of his best games of the season while playing 37 minutes as the game went to overtime. He scored 22 points on 7 of 10 shooting, including 6 of 9 from three-point range. He also added four rebounds and eight assists without a turnover, as the Mavericks went on to win, 128-119.

Calderon has seen his production hold pretty much steady this season, though his assists are down to 4.8 per game, his lowest average since his rookie season. He is scoring 11.4 points per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 45.0 percent from three-point range.

(3/23/2014) Mavericks guard Jose Calderon was forced out of Sunday's game against the Nets because of a facial injury, the team announced.

Calderon played just one minute before taking a shot to the face by Mason Plumlee's elbow. He was unable to return. He came into Sunday averaging 11.6 points, 4.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds this season. He'll likely be re-evaluated before Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City.

It was the first double-double of the season for Calderon, who did have 11 assists in the team's season debut but couldn't manage double-digit scoring in the game. He also kicked in two rebounds in 33 minutes Monday. Calderon has averaged 11.9 points and 4.9 assists over 48 games played.

(1/29/2014) Mavericks guard Jose Calderon missed two three-pointers in the final seconds of his team's 117-115 loss to the Rockets Wednesday, finishing with eight points on just 2 of 12 shooting, including 2 of 7 shooting from three-point range.

Aside from Dirk Nowitzki (38 points on 13 of 21 shooting), the Dallas starters as a whole made a rough go of it Wednesday, combining for 22 points on 9 of 34 shooting outside of Nowitzki's big night. Calderon also tallied five assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block in 37 minutes of action. He has averaged 11.8 points and 4.7 assists over 46 games played.


Jose Calderon struggles with knee injury

(1/18/2014) Mavericks guard Jose Calderon was limited to just 20 minutes Saturday against the Trail Blazers, coming off a game in which he injured his knee Friday. Calderon scored just five points on 2 of 8 shooting, and added just two rebounds and three assists in the 127-111 loss.  

Calderon is averaging 11.0 points per game over the last five, but has just nine points combined over the last two thanks to the injury.
