Billups wants to stay in L.A.

News: Guard Chauncey Billups said he would be willing to re-sign with the Clippers next season, EPSN reports. Billups, who will be an unrestricted free agent over the summer, averaged 8.4 points and 2.2 assists on 40.2 percent shooting from the field this past year. "I would love to be back here and continue to help in this process," Billups said. "I feel like we are getting closer. I definitely want to be a part of it and I'll be able to show everybody who I've always been with a summer of getting myself together, so hopefully it works out like that."
Analysis: Billups was limited to just 22 games after coming back from a ruptured Achilles and several other injuries, but said he feels as good as he has in quite some time. In fact, the veteran said he wants to play another two seasons in the NBA. "I'm focused on playing a couple more years," he said. "Two more years is my goal and after that my desire is more to be in the front office, not coaching." While Billups may want to play for two more years, that could be easier said than done for the soon-to-be 37-year-old. It will be interesting to see how much interest Billups draws this summer with his recent injury history. While Billups may still have another productive season or two left in him, he will first have to prove he can stay healthy and produce before we consider him a reliable Fantasy option again.

Billups finally makes return

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was finally able to get back on the court for Tuesday's contest against the Trail Blazers. Billups, who had missed nine of the past 10 games due to a groin injury, finished with just four points in the 93-77 win. He missed on all five of his field-goal attempts and also added five assists, one rebound and one steal to his stat line, while logging 18 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Injuries have really put a damper on the Billups first two seasons in Los Angeles as he has appeared in just 41 games since the start of the 2011-12 campaign. The veteran is slated to be a free agent over the summer, but his recent injury history could make some teams cautious about signing him. While Billups may still have another productive season or two left in him, he will first have to prove he can stay healthy and produce before we consider him a reliable Fantasy option moving forward.

Billups remains inactive

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups (groin) missed his seventh straight game Friday night against the Hornets. Billups remains officially listed as day to day, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: Billups has appeared in just 20 games this season, and he has just four games remaining to get on the floor prior to the postseason. He is averaging 8.2 points per game on the season, and will likely be just a bit player down the stretch, even if he does return. Fantasy owners can probably ignore Billups at this point.

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups maintains that he hopes to return from a groin injury, but he is starting to run out of time. Billups missed his sixth straight game Wednesday against the Timberwolves and ninth in the last 10.

Billups hopes to return before playoffs

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups has played just 20 games this season, and it does not seem like he will get too many more in before the playoffs. Billups has missed seven of Los Angeles' last right games, including Sunday's tilt versus the Lakers, and has yet to set a target date for his return from a groin injury. "I'm getting better," Billups told ESPN.com Saturday. "I hope to play before the season's over for sure. I want to play every game. If I don't play until the playoffs, OK. But I'd like to play a few more times before the playoffs start."
Analysis: Billups has been out for most of the season, and it looks like he may only take the floor once or twice more before the season ends. He is averaging just 8.2 points per game on the season, and cannot be counted on to take the floor down the stretch. He is not worth owning in most Fantasy formats down the stretch.

Billups remains out

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was out yet again Wednesday against the Suns, as he continues to deal with a groin injury. Billups has missed seven of the last eight games due to this injury, and remains day to day.
Analysis: Given Billups' age and recent injury history, it is no surprise that the Clippers are being very careful with every ache he comes down with. At this point, we cannot say when Billups might be back, and that is not a good sign for Fantasy owners. At this point, he should be ignored in most Fantasy formats until he can get healthy.

Billups still missing in action

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was ruled out for Monday's contest against the Pacers as he continues to nurse a groin injury. Billups has now missed six the team's last seven games due to his injury, but he remains listed as day to day, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: The team has not offered much of an update on Billups' status over the last few days leading us to believe that there has been no real change in his status. The Clippers will do everything they can to get the veteran healthy for the playoffs, including holding him out for the reminder of the regular season if need be. Billups has only appeared in 20 games this season due to injuries and should be ignored in the majority of formats, even when healthy at this point in the year.

Still no Billups for Clippers

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was ruled out for Saturday's contest against the Rockets as he continues to nurse a groin injury. Billups, who re-aggravated his injury during Los Angeles' win over the Hornets on Wednesday, has now missed four of the past five games due to his ailment.
Analysis: Billups has had problems staying on the court this season and there are now whispers suggesting the team is thinking about shutting him down for a while. However, nothing official has been announced as of yet, so this is merely a rumor at this point. The 36-year-old is averaging just 8.2 points over his 20 games this season, giving him marginal value in most formats when healthy.

Billups aggravates groin injury

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was back in action from his groin injury on Wednesday in New Orleans. Billups, who had missed the previous three games, unfortunately didn't last long against the Hornets. He aggravated the groin after 13 minutes as a starter and left for good. Billups went 4 for 6 before leaving to score 11 points with two assists. He hit three 3-pointers.
Analysis: Billups is likely to be considered day to day, but realistically will take some time off after he attempted to come back but clearly wasn't ready. The unfortunate thing was that he actually looked good before leaving. Billups is too injury prone to trust right now and should only be owned in deep leagues.

Billups suiting up for Clippers

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups (groin) is expected to suit up Wednesday in New Orleans against the Hornets, reports NBA.com. Billups missed the last three games with a strained right groin and will be limited to 20 minutes.
Analysis: The 36-year-old Billups doesn't see consistent minutes for the Clippers, though he definitely is very valuable to the team. Unfortunately, that doesn't translate to much Fantasy value at this late stage of his career.

Billups still out

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups remained out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks, as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. Billups has missed three games now due to this injury.
Analysis: Billups remains day to day due to the injury, and he was a game-time decision. He will continue to be evaluated prior to tip off, however he is averaging just 8.0 points per game while dealing with a variety of ailments. At this point, Billups is more of a low-end Fantasy option moving forward.

Billups remains out

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was forced to miss his second game in a row Saturday against the Nets, as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. Billups was able to practice Friday, but was limited to non-contact activity due to the injury.
Analysis: Billups was re-evaluated during shootaround, but was unable to overcome the injury. Given Billups' age, injuries have had a tendency to linger this season. Billups is averaging 8.0 points on the season, and remains more of a low-end Fantasy option at this point.

Billups practices with no contact

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups (hamstring) was limited to non-contact drills during Friday's practice session, according to the team's official website. Billups, who was held out of Los Angeles' win over the 76ers with his injury, officially remains listed as day to day.
Analysis: Billups is scheduled to be re-evaluated after the team's morning shootaround session Saturday morning, but his status against the Nets looks to be in doubt. The veteran has struggled to stay healthy this season and is averaging 8.0 points on 38.9 percent shooting from the field over his 19 games. Billups only has value in deeper formats at this point in the season.

Billups has hamstring issue

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups (hamstring) missed Wednesday's game against Philadelphia. Billups had to leave Tuesday's game early with what was originally deemed a groin issue. It was found out Wednesday that he's got a hamstring issue instead. Billups is day to day right now for the Clippers.
Analysis: Billups should only miss a couple games, at most, but this injury comes at a poor time for the guard. Eric Bledsoe is also dealing with an injury and Billups was just starting to play well. The veteran has had a hard time staying on the court this season as he has appeared in 19 games thus far due to a variety of injuries. With the playoffs right around the corner in most leagues, Billups' injury history makes him a tough option to trust. Consider him merely a low-end reserve option in deeper formats if and when he gets healthy again.

Billups leaves with strained groin

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was forced to leave Tuesday's contest against the Kings with a strained right groin. Billups sustained the injury late in the second quarter and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the contest. He finished with two points and one rebounds prior to leaving the game.
Analysis: This a tough break for Billups as he looked to be finally getting his legs back underneath him.

Billups overcomes back injury

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was able to overcome a back injury as he remained in the starting lineup Thursday night against the Clippers. Billups did not make much of an impact as he went 2 of 6 shooting from the field, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He finished with eight points and four rebounds in a 107-92 victory.
Analysis: Billups turned in a decent game against his old team but has been held to single-digit scoring in each of the last eight games. In fact, he is averaging 5.2 points and 1.8 assists per game over that span. Still, the 36-year-old veteran is playing a limited role, which makes him a marginal contributor in Fantasy. Continue to ignore him in most formats moving forward.

Billups dealing with back problem

News: The Denver Post reports that Clippers guard Chauncey Billups is listed as day to day because of a back injury. The former Nuggets guard from George Washington High School had been averaging about 20 minutes per game since returning from foot surgery. He is considered questionable for Thursday's game at Denver.
Analysis: Billups has minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues when healthy. Keep an eye on his status prior to Thursday's game, but don't plan on starting Billups in the majority of leagues even if he does play.

Clippers getting little from Billups

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups has fallen quiet, after returning to the floor with a bang prior to the All-Star break. Billups scored just three points on 1 of 6 shooting Thursday against the Pacers, with all six of his attempts coming from three-point range. It was his fourth game in a row in single digits in scoring. He added just one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block in 21 minutes, in a 99-91 win.
Analysis: Billups exploded for 40 points over consecutive nights prior to the All-Star break, but he has done almost nothing since. He has totaled just 20 points in four games since, while averaging 2.3 assists and just 0.8 three-pointers per game. The 36-year-old is playing a limited role and is not doing much for the Clippers, so Fantasy owners should mostly ignore him in most formats for the time being.

Billups back in action

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was able to get back on the floor during Wednesday's contest against the Rockets. Billups, who was held out of Los Angeles' blowout win over the 76ers last Monday after his back tightened up on him, finished with 19 points on 6 of 9 shooting from the field. He made four of his seven attempts from downtown and also added two assists and one rebound to his stat line, while logging 20 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Billups was able to get right back on the court Wednesday night and hopefully he will be able to stay there for the foreseeable future. The veteran has been limited to just six games this season due to injuries, which has pretty much killed most of his Fantasy value. While Billups can still light it up from deep from time to time, owners should take a wait-and-see approach with him moving forward. If Billups is able to stay healthy and productive, he would be worth adding in deeper category-based formats for his 3-point shooting.

Billups aims for quick return

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups (back) said he is hoping to return for Wednesday's game against Houston after missing Monday's outing at Philadelphia, the Los Angeles Times reports. "I thought I was fine most of the day," Billups said. "But I got here and it just wasn't right." Willie Green started in his absence against the 76ers and scored just six points in 19 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Billups recently returned from an extended absence because of a troublesome foot injury before landing back on the bench with a new setback. In the two games since his return, he is averaging just 7.5 points and 2.0 assists but has maintained a spot in the starting lineup while being eased back into action. His shooting has yet to come around this season and he remains a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats when active.

Back keeps Billups out

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups missed Monday's game against the 76ers due to a sore lower back. Willie Green received the start in his absence. Billups is day to day.
Analysis: Billups recently returned after missing time due to tendinitis in his left foot and now has a new ailment to deal with. He has scored a combined 15 points on 38 percent shooting in his two games since returning so keep an eye on his status in the coming days. The 36-year-old has proven in the past to be a reliable option in Fantasy but based on his production at this stage of his career, leave Billups for deeper formats, when healthy.

Billups flops in comeback

News: Clippers guard Chauncey Billups returned to the floor for just his fourth game of the season Friday against the Heat, and his first since Dec. 3 due to tendinitis in his left foot. Billups played a limited role in the game, scoring just seven points in 16 minutes on 2 of 5 shooting. He added four assists and did not turn the ball over once, while not playing past the six minute mark in a 111-89 loss.
Analysis: At the age of 36 and with his recent injury history, the Clippers are obviously going to be very careful with Billups. He will start and probably close many close games, but the Clippers have the depth to limit his playing time if they need to. Unless Billups plays more than 25 or so minutes per game, he should probably be left for just deeper Fantasy formats moving forward.

Billups back after long absence

News: As anticipated, Clippers guard Chauncey Billups is expected to be available for Friday's game at Miami after dealing with an extended foot injury, the Orange County Register reports. Billups had been sidelined since Dec. 3 because tendinitis in his left foot, and has been limited to only three games this season.
Analysis: Billups has struggled to remain healthy during his 16th NBA season and has missed 48 total games for Los Angeles this year. He is averaging just 7.3 points and 2.3 assists during his limited playing time, but was inserted into the starting lineup for the showdown against Miami. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats as his playing time could be limited at first.
