Chauncey Billups' next career move undecided

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(7/8/2014) The Pistons opted not to pick up a $2.5 million team option for veteran guard Chauncey Billups, and that might spell the end of his career as a player.

As he told BasketballInsiders.com, he has opportunities waiting for him in front offices or as a member of the media, if he does decide to retire. Though he has not made a decision on whether he will retire or not, Billups did say he is considering playing if the right situation presents itself.

"I know that in the right situation, I can really help a team win," he said. "But it would take the right situation. I'm not going to play just to play. I have nothing left to prove and I've accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish playing basketball, so it would take the right situation for me to play."

Billups appeared in just 19 games a year ago, averaging 3.8 points and 2.2 assists per game for the Pistons.
